#Connecting Xbox controller and launching Rocket League is causing my 60HE to lose input.

The scenario looks like this: I launch rocket league, connect my Xbox Elite Series 2 through USB, my gamepad is not being recognized as primary input device but secondary (trying to create 2nd player in RL menu), I try to workaround by unplugging the keyboard, play the game, when I quit I reconnect keyboard and the input is gone, only restarting my PC brings it back.
I've tried disconnecting my Wooting before I launch Rocket League and this sometimes prevents the issue. I really don't know what's going on and what's exactly at fault...

This bug only occurs with Rocket League. If I play NFS or Forza or any other game on gamepad everything is fine.

Sure what this is related to Rocked League and not the Xbox controller?

If a replug of the Wooting don't work and only a reboot does it means that the keyboard failed and Win flagged it as faulty.

#

If that only happens when you plug in the real Xbox controller it can be that charging that causes a voltage drop which is maybe to much for the Wooting.

#

To check for that you can set the brightness to 2% and turn off Tachyon if enabled. Then the Wooting should not draw a lot of power while you can still see if it's on.

#

I assume the LEDs turn off when the issue occur.

@proven adder I tried your recommendation and I doubt it's the problem with voltage. Even when at normal 70% brightness LEDs do not turn off, hell I can even switch through different presets which change my LED pattern.

#

I did some more testing and input from Wooting is not immediately gone upon plugging in my xbox controller, only when I unplug the keyboard (to make Xbox controller primary input device) and then reconnect I get no input (which is fixed by restarting PC).

If the issue only happen for Rocket League it would mean that this is a game specific problem.

#

Should not be that difficult to rule it down.

#

A Xbox controller get its slot when connecting. The Wootility will show you the slot the Wooting got in the "Gamepad response" sub menu.

#

So unplugging just the Wooting don't help at all. The original Xbox controller would still remain in its slot.

#

Normally the OS should free up the slot when a controller is unplugged. So you would need to unplug both and then plug them in in the order you want to assign the available slots.

#

In the case something went wrong and the OS didn't freed up the slot only a reboot helps.
Sadly I don't know a good app which shows the controller and their slot they are in.

#

On a reboot the Wooting typically gets the first slot.
It should also help to change the analog type. That way the device is reconnected which is the same as if it would be unplugged, but it would not be registered as a Xbox controller again and so don't occupy a slot anymore. For that it doesn't matter if you chose the classic mode or no gamepad.
