Hello, my wooting keeb was working fine up until today I’ve probably had it for a couple weeks now. I went to case swap it with this case https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B09HQV48FV?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image it was also used in this YouTube video and this user was successful with the swap (https://youtu.be/tbSoOhkdL1Q). After I followed along with the wooting tutorial video everything seemed fine, I plugged it in and the rgb came on and my normal profile from before was active, the first issue was that the escape key and space bar weren’t working so I unplugged it. Out of curiosity I wanted to see if it was an issue with the cable so I started to try other cables I had and now it doesn’t even light up or make the windows audible that it’s been connected. I tried to go through the restore method and at one point I did see the restore show up in device manager but ya now it doesn’t even seem like it’s getting power and doesn’t show up on anything device manager, windows settings, or wootility.

That case looks like a recipe for disaster ngl.

Sorry I saw that you were dealing with a similar issue someone was having so I just wanted to see if you could take a look, I emailed support already however

Mhmm. First well documented case of "do like I say, not like I do". Killed my first 60He.

@acoustic kindle The other case has a stand off there the component FB1 is. So when the module were screwed in the stand off pushed against it and so broke it. It's a ferrite bead to filter the USB power. Meaning if that is broken the device wouldn't get power anymore.

Is it possible to purchase another pcb if not I’m assuming I’d have to send it back correct ?

You need to contact them via e-mail, they will tell you what to do. You can refer to this thread. Here is the link: #1075217265928196186 message

Most likely they will help you in one way or the other.

What Rocky said before I could hit enter 😄

We do offer spare parts at cost, if the damage is considered not under warranty.

I would like to get my hands on this board. So in the case you live in the EU and don't need to send it back I'm interested in the PCBA. But I wouldn't pay much. Basically shipping...

#

But because I don't have this component at spare I can't offer a repair.

Unfortunately I’m in Canada so ya I’d assume the protocol would be me sending it back in full, thanks for the help tho really appreciate it, just waiting on a response from the support team now

I don't really know how it works. Just wait what for the official reply.
I would guess in the case you need to pay for a new unit that you likely can keep the damaged one.

Otherwise I can only recommend to try out a repair shop. But they also need this component and you may only save a few bucks.

#

Besides the coating the damage should be easily able to be repaired. Not sure how well it works if a different ferrite bead is used or how well the device works when this component is replaced with a zero Ohm resistor.

#

And if a ferrite ring core added to the cable can mitigate the problem in the case a zero Ohm resistor is used.

#

But even if you don't need to send it back and you live in America please consider asking them to do so. Then they can deal with it and maybe repair it, or at least they can recycle it properly.

Ya I think that would be easier than me sending everything back
