vat to canada

Hi i got an email about my order that they deducted there countries vat (21%) and did not collect import duties and taxes from my country of destination. Then goes on to say that I am exempt from the vat of 21% but the order may be subject to additional taxes/duties or custom fees . Will the vat that has been taken from me be paid back or go towards the import duties and taxes ?

That's what it's saying. You never paid VAT. So you'll have to do that once the package arrives in Canada
