#GTA V profile and settings

The recommended Analog GTA V profile is fully compatible in every mode of transport, including on foot controls.
It works without having to switch between profiles for both on-foot, aircraft, and ground vehicles. But it will require you to play slightly differently to default (more optimally).
For this profile you will need to change your Gamepad preset in GTA V to Alternate FPS 2 and use Shift and Ctrl for acceleration & breaking (can also become Caps & Shift for more comfort).
It is also highly recommended that you set 'Aircraft Yaw' in the GTA Keybinds to Q and E for full one-handed aircraft controls (no Numpad required).
*Don't forget to do the same for Submersible Hard-turn, and parachute Hard-turn, and any other numpad-only bindings.
Optionally,
You can also set 'Mouse Flying Control Type' in the 'Keyboard / Mouse' settings to Yaw / Pitch for more precise aiming during flight, which is especially great for Helicopters. Configuring it this way also gives you analog values on Yaw controls which controllers normally don't even have access to.
With Yaw / Pitch controls on Mouse-Override, you can aim up/down and left/right with just your mouse movements.
Which is a very natural way to aim helicopter weapons on Mouse&Keyboard.
As an extra, I also bind 'Aim' and Fire on my Left and Right Mouse buttons to make the controls even simpler:
||*Don't forget to make Spacebar useful for something else such as Flares or toggling VTOL/Landing gear||
This configuration gives you full optimal controls in every mode of transportation, even when on foot or swimming under water.
On foot:
WASD For walking (and swimming).
Shift is sprint (naturally).
Ctrl is weapon wheel (minor necessary evil).
I would advise to move Stealth Mode to
CapsorCinstead
In car / On bike:
WASD is for steering the vehicle and controlling it mid-air, which is especially needed for some GTA Online vehicles, or for leaning forward/backwards on bikes.
Shift/Ctrl is for accelerating and breaking.
Helicopter / Hover mode / submersed:
WASD is leaning the vehicle in the forward/sideways directions (Pitch / Roll). Very natural and simple for flying helicopters, you press the direction you want to go towards.
Shift/Ctrl is for increasing/decreasing power (or simply ascending and descending).
Q and E for Yaw controls.
Plane:
WASD is Pitch / Roll controls, combined with Q and E for Yaw.
This gives you full one-handed controls during flight, while leaving your hand on your mouse to look around you, or to take over aircraft
Yaw / Pitchcontrols with 'mouse-override', Great for when you need precision aim with the aircraft weaponry.
Shift is the accelerator for the engines. HoldingCtrlall the way down turns the engines off.
While on the ground with landing gears out: Controls are similar to controlling a car.Shiftis to go faster,Ctrlis to break. But you turn Left / Right with Yaw Controls (aka.QandE).
Good content! Thanks for sharing
Are you able to use numpad with this config for flight, instead of Q/E
Not specifically with this configuration, no. But easily achievable on HE boards (Wootility v4+)
You will need to bind joystick to numpad as well and evaluate if the gamepad mappings match your preferred keybinds
anyone got a gta rp profile
Is... RP any different than regular GTAV except for the emote menu keybinds and such? 🤔
yes it is
there is like so many buttons different in order to play and stuff
I see - I'll have to take a look sometime.
You could try looking in the Wootabase for GTAV profiles and see if any mention RP.
I have not logged into GTA RP, but control-wise, driving a vehicle should be the same right?
Like, completely ignoring the tiny details that you can perform in GTA RP servers, they should not really be a complete overhaul to the control scheme
If that is the case, these settings and input methods should work in GTA RP. If not, I'd love to hear what problems you run into and how you might have had to solve them
Hello.
Just for some introduction, i'm basically a gta pc player with some wr on racing bla bla bla, and i wanna get a wooting to do trailbraking and some other throttle control stuff which i can't for obvious reasons rn, but is it possible to bind acceleration and braking at other places ? (i know gta bindings are a pain as my throttle is w and my brake is q on a qwerty layout)
Of course!
You can setup GTA with the more standard W S throttle/break controls, but I do not advice it as it isn't the best experience.
You will need to setup two different profiles for GTA (possibly more for other types of transport) and switch between the two layouts, for when you are on-foot and when you are in a car/vehicle.
The keyboard has 3 different analog profiles, each one of them you can switch to with a button press, so you can set it up that way for GTA.
But to switch profiles all the time during gameplay is very inconvenient. I highly recommend adapting the new layout that has the highest level of support for the best experience.
nah w s really sucks that's why you have to drive with both hands (one for throttle/braking and one for cornering) so i can bind those wherever i want (dw my keybinds are already a mess but idc because i only race on the game anyways)
but just to be clear, can i bind any in game key to any key on the wooting or are there exceptions ?
There's no restrictions from the keyboard no, you can set it up however you want
can even assign up to 4 gamepad buttons on a single key
or a mix of gamepad and keyboard inputs
Can tryout Wootility here (even without a keyboard but only as preview): https://wootility.io/
Create a new profile -> head to the Gamepad Mapping tab -> see what gamepad buttons you can assign to the keyboard and where
for more advanced bindings, you can create them in Advanced Keys tab and adding a "DKS" binding on a key
So in theory you dont need to control speed with shift and ctrl? You can do it with W and S?
No, not quite.
Feel free to experiment with all of the configurations. Maybe try one of the other controller layouts other than Alternate FPS 2
I could not think of any better solution that didn't use more than one profile. From all my testing using Alternate FPS 2 in this configuration is the best solution. It works flawlessly for every mode of transportation with one profile.
In my experimenting merging the trigger and joystick up/down actions is just going to lead to conflicts in unforseen scenarios in any of the mixed input games I've tried this in.
The best way to map a controller to a keyboard is to keep joystick on WASD, or similar, and trigger keys somewhere else
such as
Shift|Ctrl, orCaps|Shift, orQ|E, etc..
Caps/CtrlandShiftbeing the best option I could find for GTAV
Alright, just tried to use the default racing profile, and it works flawlessly on a RP server.
Naturally you should not have problems with it until you reach vehicles that have separate functions on joystick up/down and the trigger keys
Standard cars vehicles having the least amount of problems on
Alternate FPS 2, thus why I recommend that layout
Only exception is that you cannot independently control the gas and air pitch when you have airtime if you merge Joystick and Trigger keys onWandS
I am not sure if RP servers have any such vehicles other than leaning/air-time
Leaning forward/backwards on motorbikes when you are grounded might be the only major issue you would face with ground RP vehicles.
But think of the helicopter controls, underwater swimming/submarine controls, bike/cycling controls, parachute etc..
With a helicopter as example; You would push forward and engage the engine at the same time, similarly you would disengage when pulling back.
Or a in an airplane/jet you would turn off the engines when you pull up for too long (assuming you even got off the ground)
This is why I often mention that the setup I recommend is a "One profile" configuration, as you do not have to switch profiles for different modes of transport.
But if you prefer your ground vehicles to have throttle on W and reverse on S, as that is quite default, nobody is going to stop you from making use of multiple profiles. ARM Wooting HE keyboards allow for very fast switching of profiles, so if you prefer it you can certainly do so.
But personally, after extensively trying both I do prefer the former as the "one profile" works extremely well and in my opinion brings a better experience.
Hello, I found this profile 2days ago, imported it and it worked flawlessly. Now though attempting to use this profile (or any that have gamepad binds) Pressing W also opens up my phone and WASD move the "selected app" but it also does move my character, no matter what on foot, in a car, flying, etc. Holding down RT (in this case shift) also automatically engages mouse override. Any help is appreciated, hopefully I just accidentally changed some setting at some point. SOLVED
thanks to my friend he found out that having steam open for some reason makes the controller binds work oddly!
reviving an old thread, but how do i just jog? I can do so by ever so slightly pressing my shift key down but then it gets mixed up with sprint and i get a weird stop and go animation in game, is there a key to toggle walking/ jogging since there is one for PC? any help would be apprciated!
