The Polars sounding better could’ve very well been something similar to Raptor HE V2s considering how seemingly well received they are (and have been) in Asia. Not really sure what else there is to be upset about with his sound tests. Consistency is most important imo, and that’s what they are so far.

that's not it at all though. the sound test was legitimately not showing any chatter, as it does for all those videos. There's nothing to be upset or not upset over, just that I can't trust a guys sound test if his way of recording literally changes all the sounds he records

a sound test is either close proximity to what it would sound like irl or not. It's not about whether we need to judge other factors or what not

Nah, I mean if my Polars were even remotely representative, I don’t really get how they would be popular at all so it might’ve been a scuffed first batch. It wasn’t as bad as spring crunch but it was really noticeable (less so on the black one tho). Kosio can improve his setup, for sure but the sound tests are a great resource for comparison nonetheless. Achieving realistic sound test representative of all builds isn’t possible.

for anyone who doesn’t know just how bad using lead for a tape mod is, lead is literally a neurotoxin and it has no safe exposure threshold. placing it inside a keyboard is obviously not some perfect seal since it’s just a keyboard. you could have lead particles coming loose from the tape, especially since you’re constantly typing on it. touching lead in itself may not be as bad as actively consuming it, but you’ll probably end up doing so anyway if it’s getting on your hands

@tranquil pond you can use the 60HE/60HE+ Tofu60 Redux video guides, they are the same. The only difference is you are using a 60HE v2 module, which isn't really any different compatibility wise for traymount

I just went through the wootility database and listened to the popular pick (sound) category and all the switches sounded exactly the same such as the Wuque studios Flux, tikkens, ice ultra, they all sounded like the exact same

Like you can have different sounding mechanical switches but HE switches for the most part all the sound the same and the parts built\ around the HE switches almost matter more than the actual switches themself

Yeah good point they probably are but the nuances of each switches sound profile sadly do not really pick up through a microphone all that well its really hard to tell through audio

I think that what is going to make the largest difference is what you are building your keyboard around so things like plate, bottom foam, case material, all those varibales and factors are going to be the large determinat of how your keyboard is going to sound like a steel plate versus a PC plate is going to sound very different right?

Like I was saying earlier its not soo much the switches althought switches does change sound a little bit its more so how you build around your keyboard
