they get dirty at best

for the conductive rubber to wear through the copper traces it touches takes decades of constant use

so all it usually takes is a clean with a cotton swap and IPA every decade or so

i get the preference for mechanical microswitches (very satisfying imo to use them) but maintainability wise they are a nightmare
