With mx purples (iirc) because the stem is slightly thicker, just putting keycaps on them normally could split the keycap pole.

Reply one more time and ask him if on his plate the switch is as loose as it is on your plate.

Tell him that if he’s sure his is the same, then it’s an issue that affects all plates as it shouldn’t be normal. Side to side movement is fine (because it gets canceled out by the mounting pins), but up and down movement is never fine.

It’s the same on all his Venom plates, I see. That means that the plate design really is quite terrible and not thought through. It’s not that other switches are “bigger” but Raw HEs (and most HE switches out currently) are more supported by the sides (left and right) than the front and back if that makes sense.
