WTF IS PC
Did you get the module or prebuilt
prebuilt
if you can't get him to put in $1 foam, good luck explaining and getting him to buy and swap the plate, lube the stabs etc
Polycarbonate. Plastic
Poly carbonate
dude i didnt know
now i know
ill cop
doesnt matter
Yea u have steel plate then
That's probably the source of your problems
am i fucked
Also your using tray mount?
do i gotta send it back to wooting or smth
Have you tried CF plates at all
No just use a screwdriver
They donât mod
You mod
Have heard tests
It's cool but clacky and I'm not a fan of clack tbh
I wanted to undampen my 80HE a bit without going too crazy with brass or steel
@tropic urchin you were so right about geon raw light diffuser flying all over, thanks to you i watched out for it and still one managed to slip
So I think you have confirmed what I wanted
Maybe remove foam?
what even is the point of modding my shit in the first place
i cant even hear it bc of my iems
Change the sound and feel
Idk bro u asked
Itâll happen even if you know about it, I broke a lot of clips with stock puller
Does make it feel better tho
idk if i like this feel or the stock 60he feel
Steel plate is great for feel IMO
I think the foam is fine, it will still have the silicone pad with the gasket mount (which dampens it the most), but the plate change should be enough to bring out the brighter notes
I donât want it to be full blown TTC magnetos
đ
But a bit more clack currently while being somewhat balanced
anyone know of any direct comparison vids between the poron foam and silicone with the 60he+ module?
Oh shit CF plate is definitely brighter đ¤Ł, thatâll be fun
Really? When I was using the steel plate it sounded really pingy and metallic and felt harsh
Ig some people like that harsh bottom out feel
Not my thing for sure tho
Indeeeed
Iâm gonna order the white fr4 too and see which one goes better
Will be interesting
Itâs stiff
im having so much difficulty pulling my switches out from 80he, am I victim of the stock switch puller or skill issue?
you got a ph1 screwdriver?
I do yeah
take it apart
and push the switches out from da bottom
saves you time
just dont lose the screws
is it hard to take apart/put back together?
Nah
The harder part for me was the JST cable
But second time was easier
Just gotta put the screws back in and line up the silicone + gasket and youâre in business
Itâs a little bit of both. I got a new puller made out of titanium and I didnât even need to take mine apart with it
Good luck with default on raws đ
That shit sucked
I got a temporary decent puller from amazon thatâll come in tomorrow so options are to either put up with 6 switched being different than rest until tomorrow (my ocd wont allow) or take apart
I found a vid for changing switches but it was for 60he, on 80he do I just remove the screws in big white circles or all I see? ok they are stabilizers, im in
is there a way to mount wooting in tofu case with gummy o-ring and pcb mount stabs? or it will fit only with plate mounts
you could buy clip in stabs
I think the friction pad wooting is releasing soonâ˘ď¸ would also work
Has it been confirmed to fit in the case?
Cus mine got caught on the corner of the case but it could be a different situation as mines a tofu v1 clone
iâm actually not sure
it fits in the alumaze iirc so I would assume it would fit in the redux
but idk if itâs been tested yet
That's gud
Hello, are there any good brands for keycaps? Or what should I look out for?
hey guys i wanna order new stabs do you guys know if the tx ap long pole are screw in ?
what keyboard is this for? also you donât need long pole stabs.
wooting 80he and i heard long poles are better if u have switches with shorter travel distacne
cause i have geon raws
shouldnât matter
out of curiosity what benefit do long poles even have? because iâve never understood why they exist
if you donât have issues with the stock stabs you donât need to change them
i have issues with my spacebar
theyâre for switches with shorter travel distance. mainly a thing from mechanical keboards afaik.
i balanced the wire
i relubed the housing and wire ordered other keycaps and still have issues
oh ok and are the tx ap long pole screw in ?
they have a version for every mounting style
so yes
just look for âtx ap long pole screw inâ specifically
ok ty
hey @agile grove do i need to use the washers that come with the tx stabs or is it not nessecary ?
I donât think so
ok cause i dont want to short the pcb
Could you give me suggestions for custom case for 60HE+?
@tropic urchin @ionic breach thanks for the encouragement you guys, opened up the plate and got them switches swapped
my fingers be deadge but
Opening it up saved a lot of pain for me personally
I donât think I am doing it any other way around for the time being
I got thru like 5-7 switches all with dead clips before I was like âthis isnât happeningâ and having to redo the JST cable seemed like a walk in the park
Itâs possible with a better puller
jst cable be breeze now, remembering the pain I had while I first assembled, i came a long way
I swear I was close to breaking the stock a few times
Right đ¤Ł
same, i had a fight with one of the switches before opening the plate
i was like
its either the puller is breaking or the switch idgaf anymore
Yeah I was full idgaf mode
Iâm gonna have to do it again to swap plates, but itâs not too bad
Where to buy geon raw he switches best options
kbdfans on aliexpress, i just installed them on mine
same here i had to bring myself back from idgaf mode đ
Shipped to where
Regional
EU
my right shift feels a bit sticky now (not like I use it tons) there was a bit of lube sticking out so I think its the pads under stabilizers got sticky right
could u give link?
thats showing only 7 remaining. 1 mean you will get 10 switches ? or what
yeah its 10 per pack
didn't even do much research into geon raws, kinda just insta bought jade pros
i know they're super nice though
ah makes sense
Theyâre about the same with small differences between the two
Unless crystal clear RGB is a dealbreaker then itâs a toss up between the two
Some also like raw more due it being cheaper to buy
yeah honestly it was hard to differentiate but i loved jade pro sound
Are they original đ ? I never bought from alie
RAWs were a little chalky for me
yeah they are
How did u know?
its a verified seller vouched by other people here too
Itâs not uncommon for them to come in smaller bags
Geon Raw HE Switches feature a mold designed by Geon for high precision due to its low mold cavities. The switch is a pole bottom-out, shortened 3.4mm travel with a through-hole bottom housing. Geon Raw HE Switches Feature: 18 included in each pack Linear Hall Effect Switch Top Housing: PC Bottom Housing: Nylon Stem: P
US based but they come in packs of 18
there is 22$ shipping
you might not get original packaging on aliexpress but they should be original switches
Iâm not saying to buy it from that link, Iâm showing you another example of it coming in smaller packs
also a good indicator
Could do a lot worse like kutheny on Amazon selling Gateron switches for a sketchy discount đ¤Ł
talking about discounts im so sad i didnt get to get jade pros for dirt cheap
I seriously would have kept them

They were only on sale for 20% off on Black Friday
Nice incentive but not crazy
there was a bigger deal i think let me see
Oh on aliexpress maybe
I saw some weird stacking discounts Sno did that was kinda wild for $20
I am talking about this one
yeah exactly
that was WILD
I would have bought them and kept them just to have them, jade pros in their box looks yummy
or prolly used or switched at times
Mint green candies
And RAWs are perfectly toasted marshmallows
@worthy rover could you sound test lol
You've 60he+ or 80he
which case do you have
oh okay
3 layer tape mod
rest is full stock
I could do a comparison of jades and lekker and raw but thats when I get a decent puller
I can if I get a quiet environment
ah im so confused i want to buy wooting so hard today but i cant devide between module and just 60he+ there will be some fun with this module too
60HE will sound a bit louder from stock 80HE since they have steel plate instead of PC
Iâd get module so it teaches you how to put it together, that way if you have any parts that need switching then youâll have a better idea on what to do
if I could choose again Iâd again get module
i felt comfortable opening the case back up after I did everything myself
Itâs not too hard with Wooting YT and other videos
YT is big and discord is helpful too, love you chat
Yes, but there is some fun in choosing and ordering switches, keycaps and cases, and as for wooting60 aluminum idk
cries in 80he no case
As a first time builder it was pretty fun even tho if it took a bit to unscrew everything and reinstall new stabs (didnât have to lube or wire balance thankfully)
Helps build confidence to make it your own vs being afraid of taking something apart
id say buy module case lekkers and put it together and use that way, then you will know what you like or not and can go for switches or case
and you can use your keeb until some part you need comes in
yeah that isn't a bad idea, especially since they offer the lekker switches so cheaply
can't go wrong
i skeptically went for 45g lekkers and ended up loving lighter switches
crazy how cheap they offer the lekkers considering they aren't even bad
yeah its pretty cheap for what they provide i actually quite loved how smooth they were
ong
lowkey biggest problem i had with the stock 60he+ i had were the keycaps
switches felt fine
isn't hard to tape mod it
hey guys i wanted to ask if someone has experience with the typeplus x yikb stabilizers and i wanted to ask how they are ?
it was damn nice before tape mode even, became giga afterwards
Ok so if i decide to buy module of 60he+ and ill order geon raw he from alie ill need to get some good case for it idk where to find them
or i should stay with this
lowkey buy the tofu60 redux from aliexpress at the same time
Tofu redux, alumaze, wilbatech salvation
Tons of gh60 cases on Ali express too
Back in stock. Hype.
Great texture. Unique profile.
anyone have both and wanna put in their two cents on how they're different and preference?
messed up and got the optimum keyboard case and forgot to get the switches lol
I ordered sw knight v2 stabs i hope they threat me good has anyone experience with them ?
both switches?
do you mean jade and lekker v2?
me personally i'd get geon raw he switches
re they original on alie?
ik there is a lot fake stuff on alie and im scared
so they re completly fine r?
yes
@worldly igloo they are genuine, if you are unsure check reviews on the switches + store
which kb do you have 80he one or 60he+
80he
Yes, but I think they might be fake but ill trust
Does anybody in here had the experience that the wooting (in my case the 80HE) did not work anymore after a hot swap?
I have em on my 80HE, theyâve been pretty good (bought them prelubed/wire balanced)
So they balanced the wire for u ?
Yeah, I was chasing finding the gold wire since they stopped selling it and converted it to silver. Was able to find it both lubed and wire balanced on zkeeb for a bit more than standard MSRP, but theyâve been good
Damn i just ordered with the normal wire i think i hope my wires will be balanced
Hey, how come Raw HE are soooo hard to remove? I tried remove a switch with the included plastic switch puller, didn't work. Now that I got a metal one I had to put so much force it remove the pain and broke one pin because it just doesn't come out if I didn't pressure both sides (of the switch) very hard and then when it finally somewhat come out I wiggled the switch but it still broke (a pin). Is this normal?
Even if you do have to, thereâs a decent amount of videos online that should help in case any arenât
I broke most of mine if it makes you feel better
oh im sorry, i meant to say geon raw he and jade pros
Then again I didnât care since I was swapping to Jade pros, but if you want an easier time Iâd take out the PC plate with your switches and remove that way
are the two switches im trying to decide between, sorry about that
I just watched wooting tutorial and I was doing it wrong
Is zkeeb in eu ?
I think theyâre US based
that's how you're supposed to remove them, I was removing them from the other side (left and right instead of top and bottom)
I did top and bottom and it didnât help
Oh ok and the shim do you put it on top of the pcb ?
I used default that came with the board and one of my metal spares, RAWs are just not an easy switch to remove. Careful the light diffuser doesnât come out
And do u also use the washers for the screws ?
I don't know how you did it then, but I tried another time and it worked very well (not as smooth as in the vid tho)
You wanna strip it down (remove your screws, take off the silicone sandwich pad and gasket Mount, and put the plate aside), then you wanna see where the default stabs are and slowly unscrew those screws and unclip, then line it up with your new stabs (once you lube yours etc)
I followed the video
Didnât go faster until I just took out the plate with switches then it was less annoying
Default tool just sucks
at some point I got so used to popping out switches after I took off the plate
i was just popping them out one by one in seconds
i barely had to use switch puller
Also works, I got scared that I was gonna damage the plate so I just stuck to the puller
Yeah i have removed my stabs before but i know the knight v2´s come with stabilizer shims and i wanted to ask if u put the shims on top of the pcb plate ?
Are you referring to the red circles or the black line piece things
Black line piece things
I didnât use those
Oh i thought u had to use em cause of the 1.6 ocb
It seemed like you only needed to use those if you had a thinner PCB from one of the Korean videos I was watching of the install
Oh yeah i might be stupid and did u use the red rings ?
Yeah, I did use those
You can lose it so be careful when putting them together
hmm if the raw he's are hard to switch out, maybe i'll stick with jade pros?
Ok ty and i have good new the side i ordered from there stands that the wires are gold but not pre lubed or balanced tho but i have the thick wires it seems
anyone have any strong feelings for or against jade pros vs raw he?
im new to the HE switches so i have yet to do the research
thougth i'd leech some knowledge off of this group đ
im just an average keeb enjoyer so someone could bash my opinions but I got to try them both out
they sound very very similar
but if you care about RGB and especially light colors you shouldnt consider jade pros
they both felt the same too
Nice! Theyâre phasing it out from swagkeys directly, Iâd get some 205g/105g on hand for when they arrive
do the jade pros not allow the rgb through? im usually not a big user of unicorn vomit anyway so shouldn't be a deal breaker
thanks for your input!
Yup i have 205g0 and i have molykote for the wire lube
Theyâre both very similar switches (clacky, good tolerances), for me raws sounded kinda chalky (smooth feel) and Jade pros sounded the best to me. The big difference aside from pros being a little more expensive is that the RGB is tainted since the pros have a green tinted upper housing so it makes white look blue and yellow more green and makes purple/pink darker
jade pros do let RGB through, but their color ends up changing the color a bit, especially lighter colors
like it'd turn my light pink color into purple
oh i got it, is the tactility pretty similar between the two? like is the chalkiness of the raw he's more of an acoustic thing? or does it feel smoother?
U said the converted to silver wire but when i go to swagkeys website there they arz with the gold one
I didnt feel the chalkiness that much, it feels very smooth for me and they felt similar
if my switch pullers come in tomorrow and I got a quiet environment I can do a comparison test tomorrow
raw he also has 40 50 and 60 options
what's that, bottom out force?
how are the lekkers?
From what I saw they were phasing the gold wire out and from their pics itâs replaced by silver
Sno had also mentioned that when I was looking
More chalky sound than feel, feel was fine
ooh i found 72 jade pros for $40, seems like a pretty good deal
v2s are quite nice and very cheap too, but you feel the difference once you use any other
Lekkers are a lot deeper sounding so completely different sound profile
Oh i just s1w on their site and at the moment u have option to buy both but u are probably right they will convert to the silver
The silver ones are towards the end of the photos
They donât give you an option that shows gold wire for when you buy
Itâs not a big deal for functionality but Iâm weird like that and want to match my stabs with my keeb aesthetic
If youâre still interested in hearing the switch sound differences, Mikeytypes (and sander from Wooting YT) all have videos show casing each of the most popular switches for sound tests
I see thise two options on their site are they not the same ?
Will i need anything more when i order 60HE+ module ill order geon raw he switches from ali and tofu redux case 60 from alie and keycaps will i need anything else or thats all ?
They have clear/black housing and long pole (used for jades/raws since theyâre 3.4mm/3.5mm travel) and normal
Optional stuff like lubing, cable etc
https://divinikey.com/products/geon-x-artmu-usb-3-2-cable Asked them to stock, and they came through. Grabbed a few already.
Geokn x Artmu USB3.2 Genx1 Cable is a high speed cable used to power more intensive PCBs for up to 8KHz polling rate. Geon x Artmu USB 3.2 Cable Features: USB Type A to Type C Compatibles: 1KHz up to 8KHz Full Speed (USB2.0) High Speed (USB2.0) Super Speed (USB3.2 Genx1) 2.0m Length 60w / 3.0A / 20V 5Gbps Super Speed
How much i need to order switches for 60he+
@marsh saffron
@reef oar
yeah
Yeah
Id recommend the brass weight if you can spend the extra money for it
If not it's still a great option
Yeah itâs sweet
afaik the brass weight is more like a weight off your mind knowing you have it rather than impacting much for the sound profile itself
like MAYBE you'll be able to tell side by side
no, but i'm just trusting people's word who have it
there's probably a sound comparison vid somewhere
70
what is brass weight for?
Sound + extra weight
Nah it makes quite a big difference
However definitely not necessary to make a good sounding tofu build
feel like you guys are trolling but i'll allow you to sway my opinion 10%
someone make a sound comparison
Sound test vids are shit anyway
Someone made one in this channel quite a while ago
Makes the case less pingy/resonates less
Hey folks, just need a second voice to make sure i have the facts right but, Gateron Jade Pros are not considered long pole switches correct?
atm buying some tx stabs and pretty short the normals will do the trick
they are because their stems stick out a bit because of the shorter 3.5mm travel
similar to regular jades
You can use normal ones and use spacers if you want, but Jade pros are long pole.
Moreso if you donât wanna change your stock stabs, but def get long pole for 3rd party stabs
much appreciated folks, love the title Varedis
Itâs changed a bit, but Iâm a committed pro enthusiast now
I think thatâs what Mikeytypes used for his 80HE video
use 1.6mm stabs because Wooting PCBs are 1.6mm
roger
theyre not long poles but they act like it
are u planning tx ap screw in?
yeah screw ins as I am getting a 60+ module
ya why not
thanks for the heads up
will jade pro switches work on thr 60he+ module? just making sure
its bc of plate tolerances
plate or pcb mount?
what is the best 60he switch?
prefge
Are the default lekkers hard to switch out
preference
What
no
Itâs a preference on how hard they are to take out
no
PC plate on both.
Wait
Stabs? Both are PCB mount.
As is the case for every 60/80HE
At least AFAIK
guys is modding easy?
yes and no
idk what should i do , do i get the 60he modded when or should i get the moudle
i just want a white keyboard for my setup
yes
wdym 60he modded?
just get the module, it has a better plate and better stabs preinstalled
Nothing worth doing is easy.
do i need anything else?
no but just so you know thereâs cheaper aluminium cases out there
you dont need the cable the module comes with one included
although not a coiled one
check ur dms please if thats okay
For a deep satisfying sound, what switches do I want. Geon raw or jades or smth
Both of those are clacky options
Oh
no but i would remove those regular jade switches and order jade pros separately
If you want a deeper sounding switch your best bet are the lekker V2s
Hmm Iâll see
Idk how to describe it thatâs the problem
i think you will like jade pros more than raws
Even tho itâs not a perfect science Iâd look at the switch sound tests from sander (Wooting YT) to see what strikes your fancy @rustic sparrow
Ok
I think personally Jade pros sound the best, but others would throw hands with me on that
Ok
The âdeepestâ are black knight and lekker v2
Idk if i actually wanted deepest
But theyâre not very deep. Just not as high pitches as other top options (Jade pro and raw HE)
I mean with HE right now itâs either good loud clack or mediocre soft and not clack
But no silent or thock HE switch yet
Whatâs a mediocre soft one
lekker
Cause ik that loud clacky is raw and pros
I ordered 60 instead of 45 is that bad
I didnât even realise that meant weight at the time I thought it was version đ
he doesnt deep
Iâve never heard of black knights before but I quite like them, howâs the rgb and wobble?
Not even that expensive
Theyâre basically lekkers with a box stem
I still remember someone posting their black knights and it looked like it was dripping black oil
Not much of anything
Just easier to get lekkers unless you like box stems or want a full black build
Just lube it with some black tarâŚâŚ.. 105g
lekkers are... lekker
I quite liked the sound
black knight enjoyers after lubing their switches
"lekker" means tasty in dutch
oh I know
I dont know dutch but thats one of the things I can say and mostly hear
and also cuckstoel
I need to know the lore behind this
but I also feel him, switches just look like cruncchy snacks
i would eat jade pros tho
lekkers are cheeks
hehehe
One does not simply lube the black knights.
The black knights lube themselves
With a lamb sacrifice

yes
Can't wait to get mine
what are the lightest acc force hall effect switches rn?
i first gotta ask why ur interested
also
spring swapping would get you the lightest
It has a strap too
35g by wooting springs In any switch
There are lighter
so say i got black knights and also 35g springs that would be A light combo?
35g spring + any switch = a 35g switch (which is very light)
Hey can someone explain the difference in long pole stabs and normal stabs please ?
Normal stabilizers assume a 4mm switch throw, so when they are lifted up (key is not pressed) they are ~4mm from bottoming out. With long-pole, the pole is longer ( đ ) so the distance from unpressed to bottoming out is shorter, and is meant for use with the shorter throw 3.5mm switches.
Ok ty cause i ordered swagkeys knight v2 stabs for my geon raws cause i am having minor issues with standard ones especially on spacebar
The ones i ordered are long pole
saw this
uv print windows is ehh
at the same time if u use this set ur 99% gonna be wkl
I believe knight stablizer v1 was considered as sw v3 stabs
so knights v2 is SW v4?
Im using knights v1 myself (not on a wooting), its pretty good
Ok ty man maybe that is it i dont know exactly i am kinda hyped for the knight v2 long poles to arrive tho
O see that the swagkey v2 the wore clips in in another way
ah didnt know that, that's why they keep selling it
I can only find them on their site tho
Nowhere else the swagkeys v2 i mean
I think u wzre right about the swagkeys v2 being the oldest
thankfully i didnt give false information đ
Yup than the knights came and then the knight v2
fake news
yea considering one is clip in and one is screw in, I think its misleading to say they are part of 1 line up
I'm sure someone has mentioned this here
but this looks interesting
the case itself kind of has a leaf spring lmao
the switches sound really nice too tbh
Anyone know if the project optimum deal is over? Can't seem to find it on the site anymore
a
The keycaps say out of stock
ah makes sense. I found it as a selectable option when ordering a 60he module, thanks!
yup we have this pinged, lowkey the packaging and unboxing goes so hard
agreed
def think this is an option to consider with the geon frog mini leggera, not sure which I prefer yet
both diff kind of approaches to the styling
did jade pro/max work on 80HE guys? I just saw a video said that it didnt work on 80HE is it true or no
They work. Although donât buy the max because they have friction issues, but the pros are good
thanks. I like pros more than max toođ¤ typing sounds look good as well
geon raw he
Geon raw he
Are lube stations useful? Or any lube tools?, should I just get a station that holds the bottom housing and use bowls for the rest?
I'm getting gateron ks-20u which technically are prelubed should I bother hand lubing?
yes, lube stations is a must when you are going to lube 80~100 switches. and i would get a brush and switch opener. also, for lubes use 205g0 for stems and 105 for the springs. (there is 2 kinds of lubes. 105 for springs and 205 for stems)
Yeah I saw people bag lube springs?
I would highly recommend hand lubing since sometimes gateron ones are not really lubed fully...
yup that is 105
ye that is really useful when it is coming to organization
it is easy to lose or get confused when lubign like 80 switches đ
It would be 90 so yeah
ye definately get that station
Is there a lube station you like/prefer?
If u have skill issues yes
Dont buy this
Fake
i mean i used that for my milky yellows and it worked fine
Ignore him he's being rude for 0 reason
Bad pricing for fake, off consistency lube
just get genuine keytox from vendors
ye krytox might be better in terms of consisntecy but expensive đ¸
If u wanted lube just called 205 without being anywhere close to the real thing just get the same thing from aliexpress
Instead of paying the markup on amazon
Same dodgy lube but atleast ur actually paying for what ur getting lol
lol
@hollow heart just get krytox actually lol
mj is right lmao
(but 2 times the price)
Gotcha and what about since the switches I'm getting are pre lubed does that change anything?
since its pre lubed, it is going to be better but Gaterons ones seemed to not be fully lubed...
my experience with geon raws and jade pros is that it is best to lube the springs, the whole switch is not really needed, but can be done later
Would I focus on adding lube or would I have to clean them?
What switches
Ks-20u
XD
Gateron ks-20u
also these are open botton, so essentially lekkers from gateron xd
yet another psyop from gateron smh
Genuinely might have worse tolerances
Not joking
If lekker v2
Yeah I mean when youâre hoping for the best for HE sometimes one can be delusional
I thought dual rail and box stem would make a difference
But now I know better
Lolz
yeah, which is why you build my frankenswitch
I just like the sound

Idk what double rail even means lol
Yeah thatâs chill
if you like the sound, stock wooting switches are pretty much that
You have a favorite sound for HE?
but you also probably listened to some videos, which aren't exactly reality
so just try the stock ones (if have them) and see if you like it
imo ofc
Yeah it does seem like the best option rn NGL
Yeah I figured but I've watched a lot of videos, and nah I just bought PCB
So I just got cheap switches to learn how to lube and figured I could wait for them to perfect the he switches?
i'd advise searching for videos where different switches are specifically compared in one keyboard, this will give a better idea of how they sound between each other
from there decide on open bottom vs closed bottom
if you have them on the way I guess you can just go with them initially
I would say there's only 2 major types of HE switches: open bottom and closed bottom
this particular variable is the biggest change between different models
Yeah it's not like I'm thinking Thier the best, but Thier gateron so I'm assuming quality should be good to learn to lube them
âŚâŚ.
the process is very similar between different models
And I bet someone will come out with a switch I like later down the line, but getting to the point, should I get a lubing station for bottom cases
What it sounds like
Cuz im ngl if ur basing this sound preference of youtube videos its cooked
uhh I'd say it is only really necessary if you do it a lot
lubing
Ks20u gen 1âs are genuinely worse than lekker v2/hejins lol
youtube sound tests are all lies
yeah I would agree
But everything j see makes leakers sound so clicky and ks-20s sound much quieter
^
Than what should I get đ
kinda sick tho
I just what quieter switch mann
the coin said you're a grown man stop playing legos
the connector is cool but idk how reliable it is

I cancelled the ks-20 order đđ
how quiet
ks20u isnt really quieter than lekkers or other open bottoms, no major changes between them
standard lekkers v2s on the 80he is quite muted alr
Just stick with stock lekkers if you need a quieter switch
I already order the PCB without switches đ
probably get it on a market place
founders got a free pack each
so there is alot out there
i purchased blue crazed keycaps from cerakeys with no legends to put onto my Wooting 60 HE. My current wooting is full on stock, do you think I need to get stronger springs in order for the keys to pop back up ?
maybe on the space
also, what is the difference from the original 60 HE vs HE+ ?
just stab support
to have the same feeling
plus allows pcb mounted ones
what does this mean ? pcb mounted switches ?
pcb mounted stabilizers
ohhh
the og 60he only allows plate mounted ones to be installed
so just get new springs and then deconstruct my current switches replace springs with stronger ones and thats it ?
which weight you have currently?
maybe it would only be necessary to change the spacebar, if you have like 60g switches
my wooting 60 HE original is completely stock besides my keycaps.
so idk what weight the stock springs are.
ok so 60g
60s
does that mean i have to purchase a pack of heavier springs from the wooting site just for my space bar ?
kindađ or from another place
you could ofc use them all if you like a heavier feeling with your caps
nah i use my keyboard specifically for gaming so i like the lightness feeling to them.
or would the heavier springs improve the bounce and reaction of each key ?
What would be the best switches that have very little side to side movement?
the bounce is improved with a heavier spring, and since HE boards have immediate actuation, a heavier spring doesnt really change the actuation speed
only the physical feeling
geon raw he are probably the best in that regard
but they are also closed bottom, so they are a bit clackier sounding
heijins/lekker v2s then
so you would have a better re-press time ? if that makes sense ?? sorry
the upstroke will be snappier with a stronger spring yeah
I think I'll go with the raws then

:<<<<<
thank you !! also do you recommend buying springs from their site or are springs just universal.
there are some on aliexpress, but I recommend avoiding dual stage ones cause they are bad quality
single stage springs on AE seem fine, at least the ones I used
make sure to search for springs for magnetic switches specifically
but wooting ones are also perfectly good
Praise be geon
Praise the knob
This layout genuinely goated for rhythm game
Believe
what weight do you recommend ? i want it to be springy but also not too hard to press down.
if you like your stock feeling, then with cerakeys my guess would be 70-80g, since they are quite heavier
understood, thank you !! also are the lekker 45s just lekker switches but with 45g springs ?
yes
They're also yellow instead of green đ
whats the difference between magnetic and non ? the ones that wooting sell are non-magnetic.
I meant the springs that are suitable for magnetic switches
the diameter is bigger on HE switch springs, and also they have to be made out of non-magnetic material
HE has a bigger stem because the stem stores a magnet that interacts with the
Pcb
so safe way to go would be to purchase thru wootings site correct ?
hopefully the 70g can uphold my heavy spacebar đ
or i might go with 80 just to be on the safe side aswell
What set?
60 HE
70g is a lot it may bother you
Keycap set
oh sorry, i purchased ceramic keycaps from cerakeys not too long ago
60g is plenty
Np
I would advise against more than 60
oh okay perfect, thank you !! ive heard complaints that the space bar doesnt hold its position and it feels mushy.
but like you said, ill just wait for the set to arrive and test it out before having to purchase stronger springs.
if you think 60g is plenty for all the keys besides the spacebar, would 45g be too light for ceramic keys then ?
For space bar 70g is fine
For 100% space bar stability 60g or more is recommended
Isn't that a bit overkill?
So 70g for space bar and 60 for the rest?
something like that yeah. People tend to forget that 60g is a below average tension already outside of gaming
Yeah I'm using 50g rn that's perfect for me
average cherry is like 60g and a lot of non cherrys are 65ish
it's only in gaming where people see 60g and think it's heavy
and only because we've 'price anchored' or in this case 'tension anchored' the expectation lower because people see 45g and think 60g is a lot
if we didn't have l45 and had l60 and l70, people would be like "oh man L60 is perfect, super light, not like that L70"
Ceramic
Even for gaming too light is no go because it won't have that agility springing back up I think 45-55 is perfect
Nice and spammable
what do you guys think about ceramic keycaps?
interesting but not for me. They're slippery and would feel worse for me, have questionable durability/qc and are extremely expensive
defnetly not for heavy gaming or carrying
as I felt, in low spring tension, switches tend to move bit slower due to keycap's weight.
might be ok with 60g or more spring, but I used 40g spring with cera keycaps.
that wont be thick enough to fill the enitre space bar tho
where can i find these type of keycaps
the edges of the keycaps are smooth
XDA/DSA profile keycaps are pretty rounded like that
Yeah
Lekker v2, cera keycaps, plastic plate, foam
Donât expect too deep with HE yet tho
New cable
anyone have some black or white keycaps that has like simple symbols
it's giving frozen llama
Yeah! I got some teal keycaps on the way as well. It should match well together

Is it supposed to be this hard to remove the 80he top case? I wanted to apply the tape mod so I followed their instructions but can't seem to get the top case off as easily.
slide it up
its a hook
not up
but the top case away from you
wait is that pcr?
40% case
Yes its pcr. I pushed it quite a bit that it starts to bend but its still not budging and im scared it will break
You have tutorial on wooting channel
there are 3 clips at the bottom iirc
Theres only 1 left in the middle thats not budging
This tutorial shows you how to assemble your Wooting 80HE module in one of our compatible cases.

Do it as on video
take out the keycaps first
Yeah i said i followed their instructions exactly but its still stuck on that one middle clip
Ok, will try now.
just the ones near the clips btw
then gently disconnect each clip
The tape mod is an easy and affordable upgrade you can apply to your Wooting 80HE. While we've already pre-installed a PET film on the back that functions similarly to a tape mod, adding three layers of painter's tape still made a noticeable change, particularly with the Zinc Alloy case. To help you decide if it's right for you, we've included a...
heres the disassembly guide
Ah i see, my dumbass skipped the "zinc alloy tutorial" screen and has been following the zinc tutorial instead of pcr one. Thanks.

Hm, is it alarming if the jst cable is bent 90 degrees?
looks fine to me
Yeah pretty neat
imo they should consider just doing a ball catch mechanism with no clips
if they make a case revision
this will insentivise more people to try opening and modding too
no more broken chassis clips anymore
adding a bit of metal to PCR cases may be a good idea tho for structural rigidity
im not a designer but it would be interesting to propose an idea that could work
but I just need to figure out how it would be executed
Waiting on some jade switches to arrive and a new set of keycaps
surprised that no one has replied with "Geon Raw better"
i see badseed is converted to the church of geon now as well
already got the spacebar foam, ali must have that in an EU warehouse or something
the wait for the actual spacebar continues
Are geon raws really that much better? Or is it just personal preference, Iâve just recently got back into customizing my keyboard and wanted to switch out the standard jades but donât know what for
Vs what?
The original jades?
Regular jades
i was sold when keybored used the geons for the 80he, and it was fantastic.
Theyâre noticeably tighter stem. Whether that bothers you or not is up to you though
Not really, that was never really an issue for me, are the geons closed or open bottom?
Theyâre semi closed
Meaning they are closed-ish when you bottom out because the hole isnât passed through by the stem
Interesting
also the geons stem is more like a long stem switch
I kind of like the shorter stem. how are the jade pros?
Theyâre just jades but tighter stem and better magnet tolerance
So sameish deal as raw he
Ooo okay
yea comes down to personal preferences at that point
here's a geon reference from keybored https://youtu.be/2NSQ8H2QkRw?t=605

The HE keyboard market is firing up even more with the introduction of the newest Wooting 80HE. With the bold claims that were made with the 80HE, can it finally be a be all, end all keyboard? Not j...
around 9:58
He has normal jades already so heâll be used to sound profile already
(for geons)
Thxđ
Geon raw he, jades, jade pro all very close sound profiles
Youâre mostly just getting tighter stem if you upgrade
And less chatter sound since itâs tighter stem of course
i hear the sticky rice v2 sound even more thoccy but not sure since the v1 had some issues
Yea, Iâve just been out of customizing for a while ever since i âcompletedâ my board but now am contemplating whether or not different switches are worth the purchase
Sticky rice are trash switches
sticky rice is dogwater
got it! figured best place to ask haha
You basically get deeper sound but worse stem wobble and feel with the sticky rice v2
if youre fine with sound of your current jades id say its not worth the upgrade
same here, ordered the 80he and going down the rabbit hole once again
When I completed my board raptors and jades were like the only switches for he boards, thereâs like 5 different jades nowđ
I would wait for the sale on jade pros if you decide to go for them, now they are very expensive
Get them on Ali express
Could you do me a massive favour and dm me if you ever see an offer
Not only that but Iâm dreading relubing themđŞ
alright

Jade Pro 2 when
jade pro max
Jade Full Time Employee
have you tried the jade maxes?
they seem to sound great but ive heard about sticky/grinding issues
Nah not buying them to sample for now. Friction issues is no fun
jade pro/raw he for overall, ttc magneto pom for performance
performance? was under the impression they all performed just about the same
more stable switches reduce deadzone more
so with the really stable switches like ttc magneto pom your deadzone drops to almost nothing
might have to look into those
don't buy ttc magnetos unless you're okay with the sound though lol
however ill probably wait until some more things come out and then order an 80he
will have to chedck sound tests yeah
yeah im a fein for thock
I just ordered raw he 50g :)
Is there a good tool kit I can buy for lubing? I'm gonna get the space cables lube station for lubing the bottom housing and bowls for the springs, and stems.
You just need some small brushes
Wooting sells a kit that includes brushes, but it sounds like you've already got the other bits covered https://wooting.io/product/blank-switch-toolkit?Option=Switch+tool+set
And if you need lube https://wooting.io/product/wooting-switch-lubricant-lube-set?Option=Wooting+Lubrication+set

Hi, I've just ordered a Wooting 60HE+ Module and wanted to know if it would be compatible with this case, thank you in advance for your reply. https://kbdfans.com/products/holy60-case?variant=41831431372939
Update Pre-Order will be ready in 2 months (2024-09-13) Holy60 aluminum cases are expected to fulfill orders from early June to late June. During this period, they will be shipped according to the arrival color from time to time. For specific colors, please see the delivery status on the real-time details page renew!Ho
It is compatible
Yes
100 yuan resin60 better

đ¤ a thank you, I don't know this one, could you send a link to see
he's talking about a resin clone case of it from taobao/aliexpress
okay, I didnât get it at first, but Iâll look to see if I can find something similar tnx
if I were to take the Holy 60 anyway, would you advise me to take the Holy60 Bottom cover panel with it?
how much is it?
honestly that's up to you. The sound isn't going to be great either way because of how the case is built
wait since when is the holy60 200 bucks
it's always been super pricy
It's too bad the holy sounds the way it does, cause it is admittedly beautiful
$120 for a case thatâs missing 80% of the material kinda funny
I mean, I get what you're saying, but getting the material removed in such an intricate pattern isn't cheap.
feels like a waste, they are probably just cutting out that material from the initial mold
I like the design donât get me wrong, not the acoustics tho, just funny when you think about it
Like a log isn't expensive, but a wood carving is. đ¤Ż
Ah okay, thanks for the details! The case is definitely beautiful, but it makes you think considering the price and the sound... Do you have any other cases to recommend? Maybe one with sides like the Holy60 but with a solid bottom?
Alumaze & tofu are aluminum cases folks like w/ solid bottoms
snickers at the phrase "solid bottoms"
I know, but I really like the sides of the holy60 but I'd like the underside to be full, doesn't that exist?
na
Thereâs also the 461E Case if you havenât seen that
So just the lube wooting toolkit, and a switch bottom case holder would be enough?
𫤠I'll have to take a tofu 60 and cut the sides myself.
toolkits are optional tbh
ya
if u have a brush
I'll check it thanks
its more than enough to be honest lol

bros into the trypophobia inducing sides
Yeah, lubing only requires you to be able to 1. get at the parts (switch opener) 2. apply lube (brush) and (optional 3. a lubing station to make it easier to assemble)
Oh come on. You really think it's wise to recommend people do a full lube job without a switch opener?
opening switches with tweezersđ
lmfao at the peeps who like sending over gmkkeycap/gmkkeycaps

Toolkit only 8$ and has got brush
get it is u want
do u want it
I just mean I'll just get that instead of a brush alone
Once you see it you don't un see it
-wooting x frog mini
-geon raw HE
-pc plate from hypekeyboards
-some random semitransparent caps I found on aliex and decided to try out
Love the look of those caps. I think your spacebar might be on backwards, though?
it is, prefer it that way
I do like each key cap is kind of a different color, very colorful
not only a fellow frog mini user, but also custom dual sensesđ
flipped spacebar enjoyer
Indeed!
just replaced the silicone pad with the poron
hopefully it'll reduce the resonation a lil
my tiny screwdriver is breaking though
rounded at the edges
almost wasn't able to unscrew some of them
better the screwdriver than the screws
took like 2 minutes to catch on one of the screws
true
thank god they weren't giga tightened
Upvoted for shiny gold custom
here's my, single piece front shell
lol it's warhammer 40k but I think to piss off my friends who play warhammer I'm just gonna start telling them "yeah it's some badass skeleton I saw"
now you just need carbon fiber mouse
aifei on top
ah, yeah I figured they were aifei, just wasn't positive
other than a slight issue with the font on a couple keys, i'm surprised at the quality for how cheap they were
I've seen some asus rog mouse that is carbon fiber, looks good
im sorry i read this as "heres my single piece of shit from hell" and i was so confused as to why you were calling a controller that đ
my piece from hell would be my frankenswitches
asus rog mouse and azoth would go hard tho đłđĽś
that shit made me depressed reading
just the shape haha
42k dpi lmao
marketing bs goes through the roof
If you like the shape, new stormbreaker might be up your alley
the only thing I dont like about it is the mouse wheel is a little stiffer than some of my other mice, but I already feel better knowing half my hand isnt fused with my raiden pad
well for now my sora v2 suits me well
after this one I seem to like the back bump
as opposed to my previous viper v2 pro
thats actually crazy sora and the SB max are very close weight wise đ
damn they dont look too bad
its been surprisingly really good coming off DAV3 Pro and VV3 Pro
first pwnage mouse for me and i didnt realize how much I missed the ergo mice shape
its one of the FM clones, but I really enjoy their diamond holes versus the giant rectangular holes in FM and some WL mice
Im using it with jade skates on a raiden pad so you might glide it off the table đ¤Ł
for being the size it is and being so light, it doesnt feel real
it made me realize the coating on the DAV3 pro upstairs is actually terrible
if they get rid of the side holes for their magnesium stormbreakers, im 1000% trying it at some point
My first reaction to using it on 1600 DPI on raiden was that it felt like I was using 2k+ DPI
fr

nah yall cray cray
I could sooner go back to 800 DPI from 1600 (never happening) than I could try 6-7k dpi with 0.00000000001 in game sens

Hi, does anyone know where I can get DSA profile AZERTY keycaps for my wooting 60he please?
Yeah 3200 is or 1600 is where itâs at
?
hes talking mouse DPI
Yeah I wasnât talking to you. Sorry
ok np
ok np
you can use raw accel to lower it, i used to push DPI to the highest value then scale it down with raw accel, it is a bit smoother but after i saw optimum's video i am not sure how accurate that it
like "same" edpi when you set it to higher DPI the sensitivity is actually still higher even when you scale it down, that matches with optimum's video too, higher dpi seems to be more off compare to lower dpi in terms of actual speed it should have
Iâve tried it before, I like to try and keep it as 1:1 as possible without messing with it too much. Iâve had great and terrible experiences with it
i am sticking with 1600 dpi rn, i dont even use 8K pooling anymore since i stopped playing "competitive" FPS game
would those be a good alternative for the wooting 35g springs?
how long are the wooting springs these I have linked at 22mm
14mm I believe
would 22mm cause it to function incorrectly? im trying to get the 35g springs just without the week long shipping from wooting
it will function the same
so whats the difference between 14 and 22mm
it will just feel a bit heavier because of longer spring
noticeably heavier?
nah
