does the 80 have a north or south facing pcb? i wna get cerakeys for my 80 but it says they dont recommend it for the following reason "Our Cerakeys are cherry profile keycaps. That means we don't recommend them if you have a north facing PCB. When you have a north facing PCB, the housing of the keycap will very likely hit the top housing of the switch. This is because the switch follows the orientation of the PCB and since the cherry profile keycaps follows the housing of the switch closely, it will hit the housing of the switch if the keycap is placed in a different orientation. Therefore, you are not able to bottom out if you press down on the keycap, this is most present in R3. A north facing PCB means that the LED lights are at the north side of the PCB and therefore also of the switch" do any of you guys have experience on this?

lol i'm too lazy to do a soundtest vid. You would still need a comparison of cerakeys which I don't have setup atm. But you can compare an awekeys keycap vid to a cerakey vid and hear the differences. Bunch of vids out there. But from my personal experience, the metal was lower frequency (the density of metal used + weight most likely matters more than just the thinness*)

You dont need to screw it down with the friction fit pad installed. Thats the advantage of the pad.

it depends on your keycap set. I got a cheaper set and I had to replace my stabs with long pole for my raw hes

if you replace your stabs with long pole you may need to swap the stabs for normal pole if you decide to go back to something like lekker switches

if i were you, I'd try your current stabs and see if you run into any issues before swapping them out for long pole stabs

For gummy mount, it kinda serve the same purpose of seperating the plate and pcb from making direct contact with the case while also making the board feel softer. Just mounted differently using a big O'ring wrapped around the whole board between the PCB and Plate.

if you wanna go for a ultra thock build ( ) i'd just replace the PET film for actual tape mod. Use a low pitch switch like Lekker v2, Black knights or what not. Cerakeys are a good choice for low pitch sounding boards anyways but if you can't afford such things just get THICC PBT keycaps.

my main issue is im not sure if its bad or if its just sticking to my fingers. if i put pressure on the circled area, then tape the other side, i dont really hear any noise. but if i only put pressure on the corner, i hear some when i tap the other side
