think this is similar to what the video shows. this is achieved through poron foam, pc plate, cotton in the case, and a layer of tape mod.

hey i have a question. I bought the Wooting Detachable Coiled Cable for the Wooting 80HE. Ever since using it with Tachyon Mode or setting it 1k polling, it either doesn't function when restarting the PC or half the keyboard would be inactive (im assuming it is not delivering power). Is there a compatibility issue or a firmware problem. The stock cable did have this issue but only once, but I would like to use the Coiled cable since I have bought it.

yes. I have done some troubleshoot to fix the “half the keyboard isn’t working” part but when I restart or shutdown the PC, i have to replug the keyboard every single time.

The stock cable doesn’t seem to do that anymore but I don’t think the Coiled cable shouldn’t be doing that either.

don't know if the 80He has an optional mounting point just by the space bar (the 60HE has that) - when I opted to not use that mounting point (i.e. not screwing in the pcb at that spot), my spacebar sounded way better

The optimum case is not that bad tbh if you try to get another high end case it would cost about the same 70 to 90 , ofc you can get the redux with out the brass plate and it would be like 60 but I don’t see the point in buying a metal case without the brass plate which adds to the sound and making it more complete. I was thinking of getting the flexcut pcb from tofu 2.0 for my lx60 build, but decided not to after I asked you

China copied tastefully implemented flexcuts and started pumping them out for pseudo-flex in otherwise stiff boards, making them so thin-sounding

At the same time they dump in 5 layers of foam negating any potential for the flex cuts to do anything

Its outrageous

So basically like u guys have been saying the only way to achieve a given sound profile is to experiment yourself

instead of basing off a bunch of yt videos

you never know until you type on it

also at some point people learn to give up on sound tbh

I mean of course there are general guidelines on what can sound deeper / brighter, but different combinations achieve different sounds

theres like a big leeway for what sound you like that it becomes arbitrary in attaining a “perfect sound profile” as much as one would want a better feeling board

but how good a board feels is rarely discussed in clickbait youtube videos
