Ok i don't understand what you mean by the case being "sound dampening as..." but what I can tell you is that the Alumaze has a thinner bezel and built than the tofu60 redux, meaning that it will weigh less and also sound a bit more pingy due to that factor. The weight pretty much translates to density while it can translate to how the board will sound in terms of hollowness and ping.
