Yea, what's life without a little risk?
True š
Now I can use that $2 towards the laser cutter mod š
if itāll work
in my head it does
Yeah it is! From my understanding, sellers just use that as an excuse to relieve them of their customer support duties. Route or something is another āserviceā similar to it and that auto added with everything I ordered from the usa. (https://www.reddit.com/r/changemyview/comments/10x6dc8/cmv_route_package_protection_is_highway_robbery/)
Bet I get to save $2
It seems popular there but maybe I donāt understand its purpose fully?
Eh
Iāll save my money
If anything happens
I donāt mind being on the phone all day
I aināt got anything better to do
šš
Lmaooo
Do you guys know if my āmodā would work?
Laser cut the inside of the freebird60 to fit the brass bar from the tofu60 redux?
Itād have to be machined and youād have to check if the bottom is thick enough.
Ye I would pay someone to do it
In theory could work but I think itād be too expensive
It looks thick enough
to make it worth while^
Oh yeah it probably would cost a lot lmaoooo
Iām just thinking of ways to mod it to fit some brass
Since I heard having it makes it sound way better
If thereās enough room between the inside bottom of the case and how high the PCB sits, you could just tape it down šš
or some thinner weights
Fair
@calm pulsar ik you gonna be biased but which is better quality the redux or the freebird?
You too @tawdry tree
Which would you say
Save the money and get the freebird?
just reduc
tofu's finish is a bit better I think
redux
Nah just figured there would be a company around me or sum that could do it
Ah ok gotcha
Makes the sound deeper im guessing?
there def is, you could search one up and ask for a quote
yes, and less pingy I suppose.
Not sure what that is lmao
Pingy?
to me I was willing to go for fb60 cause I liked the looks better
Ringy/Pingy, the sound of a bell?
It is cnc but you have to do everything by hand
Ah ok
I donāt trust myself enough for that šš
Thats why I ask if you know someone
Also it has to be in exactly same thickness
Yes
the weight costs too
less than having someone mill the damn thing would be
š¤£
redux with weight is like $80?
wasnt following the discussion but yeah I'd avoid paying forthat lol
$20 more than freebird in total
And yes I added the switch puller to get free shipping
I save $3
I s the just white alumaze case shiny? or the ocean blue abit more ?
Pinks also shiny
cause im trying to match this keycap above. I kinda like the ocean blue (shinier case), but i think it will be too mcuh blue. Any thoughts? and just go with white.
What stabs would work with the wooting 60he (not he+) polycarbonate plate, tx ap long pole tkl plate mount or clip-in, Iām very confused on which ones to go for
Get the normal ones first
Which ones are the normal ones
without long pole and id recommend not to get TX ap
get SWw
Swag keys
I ordered magnetic jades though so idk what is really compatible with those
Iāve heard that the stock stabs donāt work with the jades because of the travel distance
So the tx aps wonāt work with the pc plate
MAYBE or not idk
Some ppl are saying there are issues with irt
NPKC GH60 A60 Heavy Anodized... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XSW3N27?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Wish they had a coffee color
SW Knights are PCB mount only.
Which keycaps do you plan to use @gleaming crow?
O theres no plate mount?
Not currently
O ok
just the ones that come with the wooting 60he
Yo i got a question
the shine through ones
Then thereās no need for long pole stabilizers, those are only really necessary with loose keycaps.
My aftermarket plate doesn't support snap in stabilizer can i still make snap in stabs fit somehow?
so ill be fine with the stock stabs, jades and the polycarbonate plate?
You can balance your stock stabilizer wires to improve sound if you hear rattle.
Yessir
sweet
You mean PCB mounted stabs?
Would there be anyway possible for my pom plate to still hold snap in stabs
You canāt make that work but you have the 60HE+, you can buy TX APs, Staebies or others.
Attempting to gummy mount so i cant use screw ins
but i just noticed my pom plate isnt made for snap in stabs
You can use a softer O-Ring or just TX AP PCB mounted clip in stabs
Those work with an O-Ring.
I might just temporarily use my brass plate or the stock plate
Until i order something resolve my issue
To*
Very unfortunate
You didnāt have the Module right? Just the 60HE+?
On my pom plate?
or your brass plate but if you want to try out the POM plate you can do that.
Bro
@tawdry tree
Stock stabs worked
U deserve a handy
Tysm man
I have a new question now
Will changing the stock stab wires change the initial sound?
Not change the wires, but balancing can help if you hear a rattle or ticking sound.
Wires are often slightly bent from factory and balancing means to bend them back.
So theyāre (almost) perfectly straight.
@boreal fjord make sure ur lube for ur stabs and to the wire are prim and proper
which mods are actually worth doing, i have a new case and jades on the way, is there anything else i should look to mod to make it sound a little better?
Tape mod, stabilizer relube or switch out
Burger mount
Or gummy o ring mount aka friction mount
Friction mount
Has anyone tried putting L80 springs in jades?
Do I understand correctly that the stepped caps lock keys donāt work on the Wooting? I thought I read that somewhere.
Pretty sure I remember reading the same thing
Why would it not? Was there a reason with it?
If I remember correctly it had something to do with the posts not lining up properly. It doesnāt make sense to me but I swear I read it somewhere
Posts?
As in for stabilizers? That a 1.75U key doesnāt have?
Ugh. Iād have to start digging. I was hoping someone with experience could tell me.
Only thing I can think of that itād interfere with the switch itself, as in you canāt press it down all the way.
Yes where the key connects to the stabilizer
But I donāt think thatās the case with Gateronās switches and GMKās keycaps.
Caps Lock doesnāt have stabilizers.
Itās a 1.75U key.
š
Good point. lol
Does not work
So maybe itās as you say and you donāt get a full press
Stepped cap has the stem on the left
Ohhh
Wooting stem is placed to be in the middle
At least thatās how it is on my one but i assume itās the same on all the other models
I knew I heard it somewhere. Ty @little glen
There are that are centered
Iām grabbing a GMK set and was hoping it was possible to use. I read about a workaround where they were gluing it in place with a home-brew epoxy. Super jank though
I donāt think GMKās is though
I guess Iāll find out.
I really wanted it to work for me as well but yk just not compatible
It is true.
@tawdry tree this is what I saw.
(Short: https://youtube.com/shorts/k40N4bEq7gM?feature=share)
A simple key cap modification that allows one to use a stepped caps lock key on a standard layout keyboard.
Chapters:
00:00 Intro
00:10 What am I doing here?
02:00 What do I need to fo is move the stem over
03:45 Use flush cutters ...
Like I said. Jank.
Thatās so tedious omg
When gummy mounting do i still have to use the screw to align my connection port?
Or is that ideal?
no it's all friction mounted
I really wanted to get a stepped caps to work too, I remember researching it a bunch and there's a file on geekhack you can 3D print and try if you have some keycaps you'd be okay with cutting up a bit lol
otherwise it's not possible
[IC] Stepped Caps Lock Adapter - GMK/Cherry Profile
I spend enough money on mice and keyboards. Iām not getting into 3D Printing. lol
Imagine if you could order a Woot PCB in any layout
like PCBWay but for keyboards only
lol, imagine actually ordering a 60he+ module. i want to but it doesnt let me for some reason.. tried on 3 different browsers, 2 different payment options and all the shipping methods xD
Afternoon yall
heyhey mister cam
Had a little piece of plastic come off my space bar somehow lol
You ever have this happen cam?
Just flipped it back to right side up but sucks lol
Wait youāre saying that actually chipped off?
yeah
I can feel a small bump
and I can't wipe it off
I have no idea how, it was on my keyboard all night
You sure itās not a mold mark?
Hmm
oh nvm
it was
I just now noticed it with my overhead lights lmao
I just flipped it back around tho either way, unfortunate spot for a mold mark I guess
but I remember my pudding keycaps I had wait back had like 5 of them in a row on that side of the spacebar lmao
You use flipped spacebar?
yeah I normally do
I find it easier in games I jump with space
I prefer scroll wheel jump but some games like ow2 I leave it double bound or some games I need to use it
On a side note, I pulled the trigger on that GMK Stealth set
Offered the seller $15 less
that's dope
I'm gonna try and keep my eye on gmk cosmos
and maybe get dualshot sometime soon
cosmos is exactly how I'd design a set I think
wouldn't do as good of a job but I love that theme
You got that Stealth set? Nice!
yeah I checked my 7u spacebar and it has the same mark, I usually don't use my overhead lights so today I was like WTF IS THAT
lol
Thatās a good deal! Happy I could help
lol thanks
Afternoon
Imma need that optimum case to drop
I think this gmk ascii set would look cool in that too
pretty minimal
Mainly wanted it cause I already have a BoG set but itās PBT and I want an ABS BoG set
Afternoon
@harsh dove look here. I doubt he would break them up plus heās asking a lot.
Yeah I doubt it and yeah he is
@harsh dove this guy may be more nutty.
Theyāre openedā¦..
Whether theyāre unused or not he reduced the value of them
Charging that much for open box is crazy
This dude thought he knew what he was talking about cuz he watched 2 yt vidsš¤£
Yeah donāt lose sleep over it lol, idk why people insist on thinking theyāre different
Itās literally been confirmed by manufacturer
Aka Gateron
There was another guy a while back that was also very insisting on them being different.
Yeah I bought a ten pack of both and the only real difference was the lube
The lube was noticeably better on the jades ime
Yeah and lubing can make a switch sound different but that doesnāt mean it is physical difference in material or design
people like that are what ruin hobbies for people lol it takes no effort to be like you know what I might have had a diff experience with the ones I got, but just use whichever you prefer @cedar gate
dude doesn't have to defend one switch to the end of him
everything you said was pretty objective
My dashes are in Vancouver so they should get here Tuesday
It's only a 4h drive, but it also needs to go to a city an hour away because my town is too small lol
There is a single mail truck that makes the 1h drive each day
Can you friction mount in the original wooting plastic case?
Yes
buyers remorse, they paid more so they must be different
cognitive dissonance is really strong man lol
buying something more expensive inheritently makes people think it must be better, sometimes the same goes just cause they bought something different
Yeah and being someone who usually likes more expensive, you learn more does not always equal better
yeah its basically, more can mean more better
-Turtle Beach has entered the chat.
Da flip
Did I just come back to
Friggin 4090 owners

The best
No competition
I just helped my buddy build a new 4090 PC last night
He got a 4090 build for the same price as a 4080 super prebuilt lol
Cuz we bought the parts
Do you mean to say $1,700 to $4,000 for a 17% improvement over a 4080 which is only $1000 isnāt a good deal?
Liquid cooled suprim x 4090 pretty sexy
What?
What what?
1700 to 4000 for what
a 4090
they are like 2500-3k CAD on newegg
2?!
That is NOT typical
;----------;
Yeah I got em at launch
Well there you go. Smart
da flip
I know they got marked up during the whole China tariffs and ban thing
Yeah I got a gigabyte gaming OC model and an ASUS STRIX OC model
Ended up selling the gigabyte model later on
Prices seem to come have back down since this too
Yeah idk
I mean itās an expensive GPU but theyāre mostly between MSRP and around $2k at this point
Yeah thx
4090 is a waste unless you have money to spend are in esports or mining bitcoin or doing graphics design or... maybe it isn't a waste
I wouldn't say its a waste but most people don't need one, I don't even need one tbh
4080 gang
here
4080 for $1000 or a 4090 that is 17-20% faster at $1,700-$2,300
That extra $700-$1,300 could be a sweet CPU and a PSU and you would still be in the same ballpark.
Iām dying to know what the msrp is going to be on those.
$5080

I've always leaned more towards the 80 series card myself
but I wonder what we're gonna see in the new gpus
I feel like it's gonna be a lot of AI powered stuff
maybe improved frame gen etc
50-series and AMD 9000X3D series
I think I'm gonna go amd mobo/cpu next before I get a new gpu
once the new x3ds come out I will likely just drop-in upgrade from my 7800x3d
This is why I want to jump to AM5. I love my 12700kf but I love the freedom to upgrade across generations with AM5
yeah the lifetime of the amd sockets is great
Seriously. AMD is really great with value for money
Last I checked it's about 30-40% faster unless CPU constrained
It's basically 70-75% of the performance of a 4090 at 75% of the price
25% faster at 4k
17-20% faster at 1440
I'm referring to overall avg and msrp prices
Ah.
You can refer to Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed 4080 Reviews, they test all resolutions
Yeah I know them. I like TechPowerUp too
The only one I donāt trust is ā¬ļøā¬ļøā¬ļø
āAnd the one you should trust, our sponsor!ā
Yeah it's only about 12-17% faster at 1080 and 1440p and at 4k it was about 30%
so biggest gain would be from gaming at 4k
I paid enough for my 1440 monitor. Iām not switching until prices come way down
Yeah you're way better off with a 4080, not missing out on much
This works wonders for that issue
4080 is gud
@polar girder but youāre the only one in the 500fps gang. lol.
I was there for a long time LMAO
I'm on the MSI 1440p 360hz oled right now
but I think my 4080 will be good for a while still
I have the 45ā LG 1440p 240hz oled. I love that thing. Youāve never seen blacks so black
27ā gang
1440p 27" 165hz
I think the new gens are much more affordable
Hold on ill check real quick
MSIās qd right now is 680 USD
ASUS has their glossy woled at 700 USD on newegg right now also
Definitely much better than how the oleds originally started
what's money?
yo @harsh dove
gone, poofed out of the wallet

the vividness of the colours on qd oled is INSANE
I still can't believe it when I watch hdr content especially
I have a really dimly lit room too so I can get really nice blacks out of it and use the 1000nit HDR mode also
I think the LG is w-oled
so the blacks might be more consistent in diff lightings
but they're both super nice
yeah both are top tier
Time to upgrade soon
Only part that sux is my monitor is $700 less than it was when I got it when it first came out. Though it is out of stock through LG.
Early adopter tax be like that
If I were to buy it again Iād get a total tech membership from Best Buy. Because members get it for $999. Non members $1,699
Yeah itās rough.
is Mr Cam here
Where is the chart showing all the different switches?
How do you typically get the orings to stay put when doing a burger mount?
I thread them onto the screws
Oh like before you even offer it up to the case you have all the screws in the orings?
Lose your mind trying to do it any other way
lol, i was wondering about the cables- i got a question .. with the lemos especially, how are they screwed into each other, i just thought about it and couldnt they easily be unplugged when gaming and makes ur keeb dc ..
They have little latches
It won't disconnect trust me
Yeah they're designed to be super secure
cause i saw they dont have screw ons or anything, and they seem pretty easy to pull apart š so im kinda confused
Old school keyboard cable that can complement any range of keycaps and keyboards. Specifications - 71" Host End - 5" fromĀ USB-C (Device End) - Standard with USB-C unless ordered an additional device end LindyĀ LEMOĀ® comes with a genuine LEMO Quick disconnect 1B Connector. May take up to 2 weeks to fulfill. LEMOĀ® detacha
The connector is designed for shit way more important then connecting a keyboard
Yeah but just referring to the connector itself
Oh ok. Thatās an expensive cable. Is this like an alternative to the aircraft cables?
Yeah the Aviator connector
Gotcha. Looks sweet.
Yeah they're nice
Can get this one if you have something to compensate
haha I remember that one
Dude Iāve never seen one that size
What is the purpose for aviator connections?
Appropriately named
ahh i see! could you also tell me why wiredin is the best place to buy them cause compared to other places they are more on the pricier side when thinking they all are giving the same product no?
Itās huggggeee
It's really up to you , I just like the options from WiredIn and the personalization, quality, etc, plus he's a cool dude
It's all handmade stuff for the most part
any other places youd recommend? any personal personalization we can do at wired in
Yeah if you join his discord and hit em up, he'll be happy to help you with customizing a cable. I haven't really bought custom cables from other places besides him tbh lol, I have some custom cablemod cables that are pretty nice, the powder coat paint on them comes off pretty easily tho imo, and there's also Space Cables which i've heard is pretty decent
@harsh dove the aviator connections are they purely aesthetic?
I mean they have a purpose but yeah basically aesthetic
What is the purpose?
In the keyboard world, just keyboards really lol but those same connectors are also used for military equiment
lets see the cables you got from him š
You're buying for the aesthetic mainly
Right now I just have these 3, and then I have a custom copper cable being made by him thatās gonna have copper connectors and heās gonna do a patina on them for me
I need to get a silver one for the raw case
im thinking to get a black one with some mods for the raw case to match with cosmos ..
I bet you could get him to do some Cerakote on the connector to match the GMK cosmos
Little colorful specks or something idk
yea im thinking about a combo but ill speak to him ina bit to figure it out aswell
$40 for 70 nice

Ima need to talk to Calder about some All Black Closed bottom yellow stem switches lol
Ima tryna L45 stem in my black Jade knights real quick
I thought someone tried that and it was sloppy
Nah its not bad tbh
I tried Lekker stems in a Dash. It didnāt feel any different.
about as much wobble as a Gateron jade tbh
Interesting
Part of me wants to convert my switches to this tbh lol
Go for it. At least youāll know
Well the wobble is less than the box stems and it's not too tight to where it causes friction
I wanna see black with the purple stems from the dashās
Yeah thatd be cool
Iām telling you, get a file and trim those box stems to fit. Itāll be worth it
THAT is so fire
Looks nice though
Who here is knowledged in pc building, cuz I severely need helpš, itās more so with trying to figure out why my pc wonāt leave bios
What's wrong you got windows on a USB or something
Did you install windows
- Aesthetics: š
- Practicality: Makes it easier to switch to older keyboards which might have different connectors i.e - mini usb, micro usb without plugging/unplugging the cable from PC.
Yeah itās probably a boot drive thing
Need windows
I just built a PC for a friend last night lol
Got windows and drivers on it working
Okay so pretty much, I was upgrading my whole pc a while back, mother board and all, everything looks as it should be Iām just stuck at bios
Ohhh
That makes sense
Why didnāt I think of thatššš
I need to buy windows right?
No
Learn how to create installation media for installing or reinstalling Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.
Thatās what you need
USB drive with free windows non-activated version on it basically
Definitely seems helpful when you are dealing with older connectors!
Then it will boot up from the USB drive then install windows on your actual drive
Alr going to try that now
For the 60he it's like usb 1.2
no latency???
a good quality usb 2.0 cable will work
oh fr? any issues if i plus it into a 3.2 or sum
plug
It shouldnāt
kk
mine works well with tachyon mode. The general advice from wooting is as lo
ong as they are under 2 meters in length.
any difference between burger mounting and gasket mounting and are both viable on the 60he in a tofu redux case?
Gasket will be softer, tofu redux doesn't support gasket mounting
afaik you can't gasket mount the wooting
or atleast in the tofu
what are my mounting options for the tofu
Even within the same form factor and layout, the internal makeup of a keyboard affects the overall experience. While there are several ways to alter and aim for that desired feel and sound, one of the primary factors that will help you estimate your eventual build is the keyboard mounting style.&
Screw mount with or without burger mod or friction mount (gummy oring mod)
those are the most popular
what would i need for the friction mount
Quite a few active users with the Tofu60, including myself, has it friction mounted
is there a specific oring i would need for that
I wouldn't recommend screw mount
Do you have the module or regular 60he+
Graveshift or bakenenko
man i wanna get a tofu too and have no clue at all what you guys are talking about maybe i should wait a bit
If you have module then just graveshift
the original wooting 60he but im gonna be using the PC plate and the silicone layer
Depending on where you live, Bakeneko isn't necesarily the best option because of shipping
Mech land offers the same o ring with way cheaper shipping to canada, for example (compatible with screw in stabs)
lol you can use the tofu just like you do the plastic stock case
And just screw it in
The silicone kinda pushes the annoying magnet sound and the foam kinda reduces it in my experience
These guys just doing some mod alternate mounting stuff
Yeah I think I prefer foam over silicone
Just little quieter
ok ty all that burger mounting, gasket mounting etc confused the fuck out of me
so if i use the foam which gummy oring would i need for my config
Not a huge fan of the foamy sound
Honestly if you want a Tofu, just get it
You have og wooting 60he so either bakeneko or graveshift
Everything were talking about will get a lot simpler once you have it in front of you
Whichever one is cheaper tbh
lol yeah thereās a bunch of different mounting methods. But the stock plastic Wooting case and the tofu Redux share the tray mount style (which is just screw it in)
This is just a personal preference
You have plate mounted stabs then correct?
Tray mount works plenty fine. Itās ok if you donāt like it but it works and is the most simple and popular mounting method.
i do but i got into this custom keyboard stuff like 2-3 days ago so i dont want to mess something up or miss out on a better option because i didnt know it existed
Yeah maybe but metal on metals usually a bad idea for sound
thats correct, im also gonna swap to jades if that makes a difference
Tofu is the best option imo
thats me i dont care too much about sound
It's good for durability too
As far as keyboard mounting goes, it's the cheapest thing you can invest or change for the Tofu. Everything else will be preference.
Do you want bounce?
I mean whatever but no reason to scare people away from modding by acting like thereās anything wrong with tray mount
im ngl no clue what bounce is completly new to this
Well I don't like it but if you don't mind then go ahead ig lol
Majority of Wooting owners arenāt*keyboard nerds like this lol
Damn I need to find a vid
For mine, I got the 45A Medium Oring to gummy mount it. (https://mech.land/products/graveshift-o-rings?variant=41067113513113)
The number just means how firm it is, so the smaller number means it'll have a softer sound etc.
I have stock Jades and stock steel plate with the Tofu, this is the difference in between both for mine.
InputRice o-rings are now available in Canada! Supports gummy mount mechanical keyboards like Bakeneko60, TGR Unikorn 60, Phantom65, Parallel Portal, Monokai Kei, AEBoards Constellation, Hause Engineering HAND and more! The 60% o-rings were designed to be thinner than standard o-rings to allow for screw-in stabilizers on both the spacebar and ba...
i just want a nice looking keyboard and not have to study keyboards tbh
Yeah itās not that serious. If you want a cool/heavy case then the tofu redux is a great value. And you can unscrew your current keyboard and just screw it in the tofu redux
Keyboard modding is a rabbit hole and itās ok not not cannonball in
Like that
Do you want that
The Thackson did a GREAT video demonstrating what the gummy mount mod is here (I needed his help yesterday he's the goat) So you can have an idea how/what it's for.
This replace the needs for screws as it fits in to the case by being tight around the rubber ring.
so would this work for my 60he config, stock stabs, pc plate, silicone/foam insert in the tofu 60 redux
tbh only looks like youll ever notice it is when you press half your body weight on it
Yes
sweet tysm
Youre canadian too right?
yes i am
They offer lettermail with postcanada
2$ shipping
No tracking but
Super sweet
instead of paying 20$ of import and shipping from other sites
Mech land is the goat
Yeah
all the other sites have insane shipping
Nice
Yeah this site is the GOAT for Canadians
Brushes, lube, orings, etc.
Lil small items like that over Canadapost š
Insane items for barely any shipping cost
No if you press with any considerable amount of force you'll get that
is this one just screwing in too?
Anyways I'm also fairly new to the keyboard modding scene but if you have any questions or need help with anything feel free to DM me if ever :)
do you know of any good sites that sell gmk keycaps?
For that price I'd just get a tofu
i think mech.land has them too acc nvm
Idrk when I bought them I used drop
will be around the same price for me
Yeah
maybe 15⬠cheaper
I say since tofu is more well known its probably better
BTW there is another option alumaze but that's all about looks what you prefer
THACKSON
Not really sorry
Other than Drop themselves
all i care about is the looks as it cant make my keybaord any worse
They might, but they don't do lettermail for those so shipping is the same as other sites.
I like the tofu because of the simplistic look but alumaze is a bit more flashy
Sound is similar but you don't care lol
i barely even hear my keyboard anyways while wearing a headset
seen it before but i really disslike the gold part
man i want a holy 60 but i cant spend like 500⬠on this keyboard
It's alright holy60 sounds bad anyway
idc about sound
Lol then you can't really afford bounce
huh?
The only case that has good bounce is the salvation and its like 1.5x the price of holy60
300+
He doesn't care about sound
Yea burger mount has bounce to it
refer
Is cool
You could get a PSD 60 with a burger mount
But know that it wont be bouncy
I did burger mount on my tofu I don't get bounce like at all
now im confused i never said anything about bounce i didnt even know what that was until 2 mins ago
Check ur screw holes make sure that the bounce
Youre getting isnt too fucked
U probs overtightened it like me
maybe wait a little while and see what Optimum's case is like, or Geon's Leggera which is cheap as chips. Which I think is what the British are eating right now to drown their sorrow
Im getting some of it
Its the same price as the alumaze
No that's a rookie mistake
And theyre running something to a burger mount
I didn't crank it down at all
I did mine on purpose LOL
Esp on the far right
but not my left
for a rounded wedge, damn
can you already see what color options they will have
Then again I don't mind cuz I personally hate bounce I did burger mount to avoid metal on metal
Ive done metal on metal and i didnt like my tofu 7 degree cuz it started to hurt my wrist
So i went to stock case
Anything better then tray mount fr
Well thats accordingly to calder and the others
Optimum's will probably be his staple colours: monotone. Not sure about Geon's
Via a live stream
i want a purple case
His running a night color
with a more texture based with a brass bottom
Thats exposed
Frfr
HE could try a gasket PSD60 but he will need a modded plate
Cuz the plates in there dont cook for the 60
Alright you only care about looks let me make it simple for you
If not wait for GEONWORKS tray and gasket mount VENOM60HE
Black setup or white
not really the nicest purple tbh
oh yeah, sorry about that
Lets make it simple are you going for a black setup white or other
Whats that case
Oh wait purple?
yh
that case is a chonker
O a alumaze clone
yh
Yeah redux has the most colour options
ill prob either get a tofu 60 or the alumaze clone
IF you ask me
Id advise waiting
If you dont wanna wait and would prefer to use now
Id recommend either the tofu or the GH60 aluminum case
im not the best at waiting
there are so many nice ones that sadly dont offer the purple i want
K I'd get tofu60 redux dark purple and some pbtfans keycaps
It's just simpler that way
They have a few good purple sets
And gmk will shine so unless you want that pbtfans is the way to go
NVm its a alumaze clone not worth it
looking for something darker like the holy 60 purple but not as dark as the tofu 60
As much as it pains me to say this if you only care about looks you don't need brass weight
Depends
Wooting needs some of the pcb underglow for acrylic cases
that thing is only like 20$ ill still get that
If he wants a dark toner color and its light dependent it isnt gonna be easy because it varies on color
how much would it be to get it recolored? anyone here any idea?
CUSTOM ones
idk
depends on ur metal worker and as well as how much you really want done

this as my keyboard color would be a dream
Fjell is our acclaimedĀ heavyweight 60% mechanical keyboard design, introduced in 2017. With a distinct design language and exceptional sound properties, Fjell is one of our most popular designs. Made from a combination of aircraft-grade aluminium and brass, this keyboard has a weight of 2kg, providing a solid and stabl
guess ill have to look around and see how much that would cost me
that one has the perfect purple but fuck 275$?
lol
i cant sell that many of my cs skins lol
Maybe the Klippe T in purple
But idk color
Cerakote is a heat resistant, chip resistant, ceramic coating that can be applied to any metal or heat resistant plastic. Any color can be applied with options for color shifts, splatters, fades, metallic pearls, and many more. We even offer color matching! The possibilities are endless with cerakote.
Or that
What colors can you do? At the moment, color matching is 15$, just provide a pantone and we can get a close match. You could check out cerakote.com for any color that they offer.
purple is the only sold out color and they dont show examples for sold out stuff lol
60/65% - Single color - 160 USD
I know lol
Sad
Could do a metallic pearl purple for $175 it looks like
But then also have to buy the case itself lol
ok i think we pass on metallic purple for now lol

yh and need to buy a case i actually really like for that
ive seen that one before that honestly looks pretty cheap imo
man i wish this one had purple
And you have to make a custom plate for it

Yeah the nice stuff gets expensive
ā ļø
Its not far from the purple you want. Under $100usd too.
Good amount of weight to it also
Alr I just finished downloading it and I got it to pop up
What do I do now
who selling the xray cable?
Nvm figured it out
Anyone know when OptimumTech will be releasing the keyboard case?
Could be next month
im ordering things in for my wooting 60he+ module. I bought a graveshift 50A gummy oring. This wouldn't fit with stock stabs and I would need to get clip in stabs right? I've just read that TX stabs r a bit tight and the keys might get stuck?
Yes, since the TX AP and Staebies housing are too thick for the wooting plate, the compression of the housing would make the stem stuck.
General rule with Gummy O'rings is that the O'ring cant fit with Screw In Stabilizers so it is best recommended to use Clip in Stabs if you're going for PCB mounted stabilizers, otherwise plate mount works fine as well.
what clip in or plate moutn stabs do u recommend personally?
@harsh dove
sending in the professional i see lmaooo
calling in the big guns haha
Cherry Clip Ins are good, just clip the feet
Honestly I don't have any experience with the clip ins as i dont have the 60he+ but I do know that plate mount stabs with 6.5mm housing thickness works fine like TX AP stabilizers (although depending on your keycap thickness they will not get stuck), Durock, etc.
Haha, yeah again sadly don't got experience with PCB mounted stabs so I don't know much abt em or what works with the wooting plate
perfect thank you!
im just using a typical redux case and epbt shiro
So do you have a list on what clip ins work fine?
I may need to inquire some knowledge just incase
Can't experience? Just ask questions!
Cherry clip ins ftw
Yeah
My board is like a year and a half old
Oh no bc I didn't buy my board, a friend bought it for me
It's fine, I dont want to go all the trouble
Cause I just bought one for a friend and made a support ticket about it cause I was curious
Okok
š
I'd want to try the PC plate but
Not gonna lie
Jade's on steel plate is actually really crisp
this is a silly question but since I am doing gummy o ring. I dont need to buy smaller orings for the burger mount right?
Nope
perfect that saves me some time on shipping then
You won't use any screws for the case
Gummy O'ring mount and Burger mount are two different things
ahhh that makes more sense
You especially DONT want to screw in your board to the case
That ruins the whole point
Well not necessarily, traditional gummy mount boards have half circle pcb cutouts for the o'ring to sit on the posts which allows it to give it that bounce when typing. Converting tray mount to Gummy O'ring mount is considered a friction mount, using the o'ring to friction fit the module into the case without having to screw in the standoffs to make direct contact with the PCB and case. But this also means that the pcb will be sitting on the posts or standoffs unless you're using foam that sits higher than the resting points.
Interesting
Didn't know their were boards specifically made for gummy oring mounts
Well yeah, I have explain this before but if you want that bounce you could use some foam that can push back pressure to its inital position like polyfill
I'm just using the stock wooting foam rn
Think of it as a pillow ofc, pushing down the pillow then it slowly pushing back up
Time to get so Polyfill :)
Stock wooting foam is fine, i think you could get similar results but polyfill is more noticeable ofc
From my testing
Also note that wooting's foam is much denser
Just feels bouncier or has noticeable sound diff?
So it can remove so much more hollowness and make the board pop
both
I can make a sound test for you rn
I have some Polyfill somewhere
Just to compare, although i dont have the best switches
Appreciated but it's ok :)
Won't need to buy anything new so
Worth AND fun to try and compare
I got the hang of putting the board in and out since I first gummy mounted it so
that makes sense now. Thank you!!
@fluid ravine Do u want my profile by any chance?
i'll pass u the codes
BUT ITS THE SAME setting
XD
Yeah sure! Might as well take a look
Dude its legit bland af hold up
Wooting foam
Polyfill
God i need new switches ffs

I need a new keyboard.. (looks at 80he order summary)
LMAO
Mine should arrive tomorrow
Whatchu getting
Dashes
Tried jades from my buddies 60he in my tofu build and they sounded amazing
Ordered dashes the next day because there was a sale for 20 more minutes
They any responsive?
Any wobble compared to the lekkers?
some more frog mini stock being put up on geon's website for the warehouse sale if anyone was interested
not gonna be wooting compatible though
yeah guess no WK stock left
think most of the stock would have been sold to the korean market first
This will fit the wooting 60he right?
I think i just found the one i want if this one is compatible
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EQq6Lub
hrm $36 for 90 raw he in korea
Has anyone tried black jades?
Ez clap
@polar girder did you get your frog from mechmarket?
Already sold out lol
Yeah I put up a WTB and someone messaged me
Havenāt seen that one. Itās not on this list but looks like it might work
i just checked reviews say it fits the wooting 60he+
Nice
Do i have to order anything besides the case?
No
man i only wanted to buy a keyboard and keycaps and now i spent almost 400⬠already
Donāt we all? šš
found a gasket mounted case on AE
have to drill the plate though
or make a custom one
https://sl.aliexpress.ru/p?key=Gkk4stR
here's a link from my region, you'll need to change region/language
the bezels kinda too large for my taste
maybe they can provide the plate files in dms
oh so you can make plates yourself?
yae not that difficult
How much did you end up paying? If you dont mind me asking. Considering getting a black one as well so I have it for whenever Cosmos is out
that's great
well for now i'll be building in my fb60 and also want to check out wootings friction mount thing, but it's good to know that someone can make custom places
$300 shipped
Which is what I put the WTB for
Alright thanks g
300 for a frog mini?
Yeah
was it built?
I paid 279 for mine with one set of tadpoles and one set of feet. That's without shipping. 300 is not bad if its in good/near new condition imo
I paid 230 for mine
yeah I wish. I bought it directly from Geon too
No lol
Just case, tadpoles and carry case
Yeah with bumpon feet and looks pretty pristine
I missed a couple opportunities to buy some at $275ish and was just tired of fking around lol
Cut the weight of the viper v2 pro in half lol
Can you mske it 8x weight?
and only usable for Fingertip-Grip š not my cup of tea, but nice.
Yeah Iām a finger tip guy
Anyone have some recommendations on where I can pickup some keycaps in Canada without crazy shipping costs
The ultra lightweight just feels so natural
š¤
cool plugin card
yall i need help
im buying a ergotron lx monitor stand but idk if its comaptible with my moniotr ( alienware AW2523HF) like idk the vesa stuff like are they compatabile ??
if the monitor and stand have the same vesa support they fit
idk if they do i can send pic of the monitor but like its weird on aliewanre
is this vesa
it doesnt come with metal tahts the thing
that has a vesa mount
alieawnre is weird stand
dell ALWAYS packs it with their monitors
in the box of your monitor m8
I know how their monitors work
what do i take pic of
they include a plate that goes on the rear of your monitor that adapts to vesa
you go to the box the monitor came in. open it. get the metal plate out
?
id be surprised if the 4 screws in the recess are for the 100x100 vesa mount
would be unlike dell
according to the website it fits vesa 100x100
so i take them off?
yeah but they look like youd squish the plastic and idk if thats 100x100
you know, easy thing is checking the manual
from what i know from dell you get some adapter piece usually
yea
i got some cables
and mount
and a book
and how to built
and thats prety muchn it
i thimk
the screws are apparently it
Hmm
okay so i just remove those???
interesting
yes
with the ergotro n lx
it is 100x100 compatible
my man
so im good??
are you able to read something on your own
why is this in keyboard modding anyway
idk where else to ask
tech talk
oh my bad
the talk about... tech

I feel like I have seen that case before
