i'll buy some black jades too, but only for some more wobble reduction
Not the worst I’ve seen
time to copy @harsh doves Frankenstein switches

the wobble on the Jades is impressively less compared to the regular L60's
Tbh idk if it’s just me but every set I’ve received has either been perfect or ever so slightly tossed around like a couple keys
And it’s funny cause where I live is not exactly smooth roads
cant wait for my dashes
all my alphas keys were all tossed around when i recieved my set ;-;
my roads are smooth
Yeah I swear my sets are never tossed around like crazy
pretty sure like almost more than half of my alphas keys were like flipped sidways or upside down lol

Same with the roads here lmao
Yeah this is pretty good
In terms of being tossed
That’s probably about as bad as mine ever get
yeah I'd take that lol
I wonder if they could mold a case for them like the pbtfans trays but maybe outta some kinda like hemp plastic
or something that will meet their regs
these definitely sound a bit brighter than the pbtfans abs keycaps, I see what alexotos was saying when he mentioned that before
it's a really satisfying sound tho
oh man thats nice
Is that 60he with custom case?
salvation case!
it's the business grey but it looks rather black in most lighting lol
The lighting is noice
that keyboard looks nice
fr
rappy snappy? LMAO
LMFAOOOO
AHHHHHH

I just mixed up rappy snappy and snap tap
it's cause Im half asleep and read the twitter post about it 😭
osu and valorant
LMAO
I kinda have to get used to it though since strafing requires me to press the other key down more
yeah ive been trying to get my brain used to counter strafing more often lately
but it takes some time
Yeah esp ever since i got my wooting
took some time to get use to it and notice a difference
New era has begun
Honestly, it's like when u get use to some thing you dont notice it, but when u downgrade yourself back to what you were using before you notice a big difference.
It's like going to 1440p back to 1080p
Worst time of my life when looking at a screen
I've still yet to get to 1440p 😔
Same :c
I just switched to a 1440p 360hz oled a few months ago I love it
I mean you could also like try to play on your typing profile and compare it to your rapid/RS profile
I had the 360hz zowie before
You can clearly feel the difference
which was insanely good for gaming
but I didn't watch anything on it
cause it wasn't as nice
my typing profile and gaming profile are the same lel
deadah?
yes
the hell
lol wtf
with rapid
even for typing???
dafuq
too lazy, 1 profile is enough for me xD
My fn H is my typing and my fn J is my rapid
Looks cool
super fun in ow2
interesanteee
rgb looks nice on my cerakeys >:D
Dude I can’t type for shit on my gaming profile. So many spelling errors lol
there's a setting in ow2 to lock the input shown on screen
fr
so it doesn't flip controller to mouse
except I dont use rgb
Crazed cerakeys are impressive imo
Crazed are nice but I like my indigo ones better. Plus they diffuse way more light.
oh waittt i like thiss
That video is 0 seconds long for me
That is def brighter
LOL might still be uploading
Dude main these caps this slaps
dang, works for me
Oh ok. 👍
It doesn’t play for me on mobile

For some reason
Same 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahahahahah what
Yoink the keyboard itself instead 😏
U RIGHT
I usually like download sound test and send them to my alt account so i can gate keep them
or anything that has useful info i just send it there
Like this for example lol
random shi
i just use a discord server for this
i put stuff there to remember for later/check what photos look like before i send them to servers
I miss this :(
go back to foam 😎
can always upgrade that switch 👀
👀
Honestly getting a new set of switches may be my last purchase for a while on my board
It's prob where I can say that the switch will define how my board will sound no debate
clack, thock, neutral, all depends on the switch now
Pretty sure i need something really high pitched, my board is pretty low on the frequency chart
Anyone hear about resolving their cerakey spacebar sticking by lubing stabs?
Thats new?
Usually we would have keycap stab binding between stabs that has thicker housing for the wooting plate like staebies and TX ap rev4 clip ins
But since you specifically said cerakey all i can think of is the spacebar being too heavy for the switch or your lube/grease has gotten under the stabs on the pcb which makes it sticky causing the stabs to have a bit of a delay when returning to its inital position
Ya know I think you're right and it is simply the weight plus the extra friction from unlubed stabs. I was wondering why a standalone 40g switch is able to easily lift the spacebar but not the one in the Wooting but I realized the switch in the wooting has the weight of the stabs plus the friction working against it.
My cerakey spacebar won't return whatsoever on the stock wooting. I'll give the stabs a good lubing and/or switching to better screw in stabs to see if it helps.
It won’t return because the spring is too weak. At minimum you need the stock L60 spring to lift it. I’d suggest an 80-100g spring.
@mortal pine
yeah I think it kinda sets the base, I was surprisingly shocked when the fr4 plate and the keycaps changed the sound as much as they did but I think the switch determines how far it can go etc
Reading your comment more thoroughly I guess a dry stab could contribute but I’m certain your spring is more likely the culprit. 55g is required at a minimum. I found in my testing that 60 was doable but had return problems. I regained normal spacebar function after installing 100g spring.
I love seeing everyone get into keyboards because of Wooting
Fun seeing everyone experiment what we been doing on the MX side
It’s fun, but stupid expensive
Oh don’t I know it
Used to have a spreadsheet of my total spent and sold
Stopped counting after a while but it was pretty bad haha
cute
Pink jades
The keyset takes its colors and legends from the vintage Halleffect Keyboard by Micro Switch. The sub-legends on the alphas are ASCII control characters, an early method of issuing commands to a computer.
just realized the Ascii keycap set has a cool history for the wooting lol
Yeah Wooting probably my first and last custom TBH
unless my wife needs something for work
What’s ASCII lol
I have a feeling I'm gonna end up with a bunch of mx keebs and the 80he eventually lol
it's those grey keycaps I put on earlier
I guess it was a language one of the first hall effect boards used for input or something too
Ah
Goodness
yes sir
I saw those on a few posts on reddit too
just not a fan of SA myself
I think it looks dope tho
I think that new mtnu profile looks interesting
true
I like the SA depth
But I like the flat aesthetic and everything else about it
Once they drop the legends I’m sure they look fire
Black on Black I think they’re planning
@polar girder dm me I’m ready when you are
I love the big finger bowls on the SA caps. My favorite.
based on what i read in the FAQ, is the best 3rd party pre-lubed switch in terms of compatibility and all that the jade / dashes? at this point at i cant use un-lubed switches due to preference and im much too lazy to lube my own switches anymore after experiencing the quality of higrounds geo linears. i read a little bit into the magnet compatibility and all that but admittedly didnt know what any of it meant lol
Most magnetic switches come pre-lubed, the sound is the main thing you should consider.
yeah i like the sound of the dashes and the stickyrices but ive heard the sticky rices are especially unreliable i guess? i have never used / built a magnetic keeb before so i dont really know how to tell what that even means / looks like so im just trying to get the best option overall
unless the lekkers come prelubed too? i cant see anything about them being lubed but i saw in the batch update channel that they are doing a v2 of them and dont know if thats what would come if i ordered them rn (im getting a module and alumaze so i have to buy them separately on the site)
Yeah I would skip sticky rice
Prob dash, jade or lavender or raw HE
Lekkers are good
Most factory line is just a swipe on the stem
But that’s the bare minimum
Some are better than others
would you say overall 1 to 1, dashes are better than lekkers?
Pretty sure dashes are just a jade recolor
And most people seem to prefer it to the lekkers.
Just a sound, feel difference but lekkers kind of being the first one, most newer HE switches are an improvement
in terms of performance tho i wont really have an issue with the dash / jades? i know they have a slightly tighter top to bottom distance so idk how that would affect the performance, im assuming it just means i have less actuation points and release points to work with, but the switch itself still works fine?
Yeah they’re all the same performance wise. Yeah just little difference in total travel and spring weight
Well not ALL the same. Hence avoid sticky rice lol. But yeah
bet. appreciate you!
@swift hatch tape mod, Aluminium Keyboard Case, lubed up switches, burger mount, new keys, new foam if you want, new switches
Wooting on their youtube does a good job in tutorials but BadSeed Tech can go a bit more in-depth in vids
Check out the Fractal Design Meshify Lite case here! - https://bit.ly/meshifylite
👇 PULL IT DOWN FOR THE GOOD STUFF 👇
Finally getting under the hood of the Wooting 60HE. We're gonna talk best practices for the Lekker switch, swap it into a Tofu60 case, we'll talk stabilizers, case dampening, and how to get the best sound out of your keycaps.
✅T...
thank you
no worries
Anyone here have a Q1 HE and a Woot? Please lmk!
the new tofu cases dont need you to shift the module a likkle left a bit
when you watch youll understand what im saying
so dont worry about that if you see the video above
oh okay
thank you, im just looking for anything to purchase while im waiting for my 60he+
I heard the thockfather send his q1he back because it sucked

Yeah heard that too 😂😂
would’ve asked him otherwise
but need to confirm something
is it worth it to upgrade stock 60he switches to jades?
(no idea what switches stock has lol)
if u want lighter switches then the stock ones yes
however some people like even heavier switches
i might just wait until it gets here and see how the lekker feels then
anything is really an upgrade from my current keyboard
☝️
See how you like the board first then decide if you wanna get some modifications later
FACK
SYN
lol
LOL
shoulda been r2d2
I was just thinking the same thing lmao
Oooooh. Look what just showed up on eBay.
that's super clean
Yeah GMK Stealth goes hard, I’d want the novelties too tho
Because of special letters?
^
okay that's dope
Wuque Studio jacking up prices on the Dash switches on AE
170 is insane for keycaps
Pretty standard for GMK
Isint it only available on aftermarket?
$120 is standard base price for GMK, in stocks usually higher
That set, yes. They are out of production.
Yes true. I meant for out of production, only available second hand $170 is pretty average
Yeah stealth is a pretty in demand set too
FACK
Most definitely. Those caps could make any keyboard look awesome.
Hey, looking for keycaps like this ? Someone know some good
I have a set just like that in purple gradient
a bunch on aliexpress
That link I posted has a few different options
That exact set is in the link.
I can sell you some like this that all black
Cheap
Just took them off and switched to diff profile lol
That’s not the stock space bar tho lol
Did you get your SA caps?
Yeah
Might order black on grey tho
But then also debating grey nylon plate
And or CF plate
And also going to get swag knight stabs

And after just spending $400 kind of want to chill and just enjoy it tho lolzzz
The keycaps were cheap
But WoB looks kinda fire and I’m digging SA
I love SA. So comfortable to type on.
WoB
Clean
I wish I could get Cerakeys in SA profile. That would be game over on buying keycaps.
Commissioned a custom cable too

Going full hog
Never thought I would go this deep
Gotta send it
But I should’ve known lol
Pumped this cable tho
No quick disconnect all black 8-core IEM cable
Wifey asked what I wanted for my birthday in a couple weeks. I told here these. GMK Bento R2 revival, Pulse, & Blurple. Any of them would be sweet
I'm pretty much replacing everything soon 👀
Only parts of my original Wooting I have left is the Stabs and PCB lol.
I got a frog mini coming probably swap out to dualshot keycaps then 80he coming after that
This I have too 🙂 but looking exactly this gradient 🙂
Yeah I’m happy I don’t want any other form factor than 60%
So I can pimp this thing out then move on with life lol
Not sure what I do with my tofu60 might grab a wooting module or just a generic pcb for it

Kinda nice
My switches were supposed to be here today. AliExpress ain’t looking too hot for first time buy 😭😭
I’m in United States and anything from AE takes at least 3 weeks
How nice
Aliexpress is always a buy and forget kinda thing
Yeah I’m just gonna buy from actual sites from now on
Haha. I’ve gotten that dollar like 4 times
Even tho the AliExpress store was the actually company
Although I've had them arrive in ~1 week sometimes
So weird
Who do you have naked pictures of at AE???
I really like these too https://kbdfans.com/products/pbtfans-kabuki-cho-r2
Inspiration Whenever the Kabuki-cho shows up in all the Japanese novels, anime, and movies I have enjoyed, this scene could be different every time in my imagination. It is the irreplaceable landmark of how a nightlight city like Tokyo could be. Sometimes that is the hustle and bustle you ever want to fit in Specs Mate
the pbt fans translucent keycaps are so nice
I love the ones in my vior set, there's like sparkles in the clear purple top then a beige dualshot underneath it's so nice
I might have to try and get the xray keycaps whenever they restock
Keyboards?
A little bit of everything. Keebs, caps, accessories.
Some stuff is in stock some are drops.
yall have stabies suggestion for wooting?
How are you mounting them?
@harsh dove might need this if I get dualshot https://spaceholdings.net/products/dualshot-2-cables?variant=43836477276418#additional-information
Embark on a gaming journey inspired by the legendary Dualshot theme with our Dualshot 2 Cable. This sleek and durable cable channels the essence of the iconic theme. With detachable aviator connectors and a nostalgic design, it brings versatility and tidiness to your workspace. Perfectly complement your GMK CYL Dualshot 2 Keycaps setup with this...
Oh damnn thats sick
i didnt know they make cables based off of gmk keycaps
I know theres some for pads but gah damn
thats clean
yeah they do some dope cables
This kinda goes hard
Are these custom cables worth it? Do they change or make better anything performance wise or they are just purely aesthetic?
aesthetics
Fyi for wooting tachyon mode, your cable needs to be 6ft or shorter for it to be compatible, anything longer could freak out the board and mess with your pc windows/tabs
Not even a tiny bit better performance/connection?
Just style
6 ft I’m playing from my bathroom then 😂
Lul
Cant even use a coiled cable (first world problems)
Any good cable makers? May look into it but I don’t like the coiled cables with the big aviators 🤢
The idea behind a QDC cable is for people who frequently change their setup and/or keyboards. (like myself)
It’s not only for aesthetics, it’s also for quality of life at your setup without having to change out entire cables, get under the desk/behind the computer etc.
Most people do just buy them for aesthetics though and don’t fully use them for their intended purpose.
And there can be a performance difference if you get a low quality cable, I.e tachyon mode on Wooting boards may not work with lower spec cables. I’ve had friends with cheap cables get random key presses on their boards, RGB Flickering, etc etc
My PC is just too far for 5-6 ft usb cables to reach so I use a ugreen usb extension and then just leave my rgb off or use it lower and it works fine
I hear Space Cables is pretty decent, I personally only use Wooting Cables or get customs from Randall @ WiredIn
Interesting! The reason I asked also cause I saw a video of someone reviewing 60 and said they couldn’t use tachyon cause of their cable aswell and tbh not sure if I will use it but I don’t want to be limited if I would like to.
Could you recommend any good/trusted cable makers? If anything I’d make a basic black one.
I did see also that usb can be silver or gold(which is more expensive) any particular reason for that?
Are wooting cables good generally? Or would you recommend me to make one anyways
Also could you link wired in? Not heard of them before
Wooting Cables are guaranteed to work, so there’s that.
If you want a custom, it can get expensive depending on what you go for and I’d shoot for 6ft or shorter because that also affects things like tachyon mode, and keep in mind coiled cables have most of their length wound up in the coil itself so be mindful of that.
Silver and Gold Connectors are - well I’ll just refer you to this picture lol
Wooting Cables are pretty solid and come with straight and coiled in a single kit for around $50 USD and they just released some new colorways as well.
If you really want something personalized and custom and have the budget for it. Then WiredIn makes some insane custom high quality cables.
womier has pretty decent cables
does anyone have any recommendations on a good 60HE case
@harsh doveIs the Lekker v2 going to be closed or open bottom if you know
Tofu 60 redux the salvation case
You can run just about any case depending on your needs and wants
Nvm i answered my question myself thanks again
thank you
SO LONG AS
IT IS COMPATIBLE
Sorry caps
Just incase if i miss out anything you can see it here ^
If anything I’d go for 2ft. I generally don’t like the coil look so I’d go for a straight one preferably with the small slim connectors I’ve seen(don’t like the aviator look, it’s very bulky and unnecessary).
I see, so if you’ve tried or what would you say is generally better, gold or silver.
You speak my language lol, I prefer straight cables too and I agree the Aviator connector is ugly imo LEMO/FEMO all the way lol but some people like the chub connectors
As far as connectors being gold or silver, gold is more resistent to tarnish and corrosion so if you care about that or live in a more humid enviroment
Lol ! Now what’s better lemo or femo 😬 so gold it is then I guess right? I mean I live in dubai and in summers it’s hot/humid
Femo are just fake Lemo basically
They're exactly like Lemo pretty much but just not genuine Lemo
Usually diff materials
The housings are made of chrome-plated brass (LEMO), which is why they only come in 2 colors (from the factory) and then 3rd party cable makers can cerakote them or whatever they wanna do
Femo are usually made with aluminum
Naa if I’m going to make one I’m just gna buy the best, cba with all the other stuff
Basically how I roll
Well Mr @harsh dove , pleasure speaking to you and thank you for being so informative and helpful as always 🤝🏼 I may hit you up later when I’m making it, to get the best if that’s cool
Yeah, my pleasure, hmu whenever
I love my wooting cable but I wanna get a nice lemo one soon
are those wiredin ones lemo @harsh dove ?
I really like the look of some of them
He uses both
It'll tell you
Can also just request for a LEMO
oh dope thank you
real LEMO are on the pricey end
^^^^
in saying that I want to get a matching custom straight cable for the raw
what do you guys think of f and j keycaps with the bar on them btw
I've always liked them cause I can find my neutral kinda position
Bars for aesthetics, dips for feel
So I just tape modded my wooting, need opinions on if it sounded better stock vs tape mod
real
i think the fact my mic is now on an arm vs desk stand also helps with the sound too and give it more justice 😂
these gmk keycaps have me sold btw @harsh dove
I know they're pricey but they feel so nice
and sound awesome
I can kinda see the difference in the legends next to my kbdfans ones that don't have symbols on the mods, the vior set with the symbols on the mods looks a lot cleaner
Ok am I doing something wrong
I’m trying to put on my gummy oring
Mech.lands medium
And I just can’t
Doesn’t seem to fit right
looks fine
the standoffs on the edges kinda prevent it from sitting in the gaps like a real oring mount
Do I have to force it in?
you might have to press it into your case a bit
but it shouldn't feel too hard to press in
yeah that's not right lol
I mean anymore force and it doesn’t feel normal
can you try and press the oring in from the bottom
like press it in with your finger nails or something pointy
and see if it goes in easier
also the right side near the backspace you'll have to make sure the oring goes in first
I can but it just
Pops out
weird
it does look like its a bit wider on the assembly than mine was
try stretching it out?
not usually cause the plate has standoffs anyway
so it'll still be there
the one near the top right near the backspace is the hardest one
you gotta kinda insert the left side first, then press the oring in from the top right first
then press the bottom in if needed
if it isn't too tight you're just gonna have to press it into the case better
try getting it in from the top first
so put the usb side in then you'll see the standoff near the backspace it kinda warps the oring out
press that in and down into the case first
then push the assembly more from the bottom
if the oring hits the case press it in with your finger nails so it goes in below the plate
and then try pressing it down in
@steel hemlock i can try to make a vid for you but im in a game rn so i may need a few mins lol
I got it I think
W
dub
But the spacebar sounds ass now
If I press on the bottom the top goes up a bit vice versa
I don’t think I can realistically put any more force on it
yeah it's probably a soft oring
sometimes the space will sound a bit better with the back of the assembly pressed down
and the top lifted a bit
i know i sent this before, but upon listening to it again i feel my stabs are a bit messed up. I’m having trouble deciding whether it’s the L60s, being notorious for its rattle, or the stabs being weird
i’ll send another one when i’m home again
After putting in oring
The sound was fairly consistent on both endsbefore putting in oring
Dom you have the 60he+ right? and what stabs?
LMAO
Plate mounted
it's called friction mount for a reason. it doesn't slide right in
heh but mine does
:P
yeah plate mount stabs good for friction mount
lol yeah if there's no plate foam or anything it kind of does
sup
How do I take my board out
that's the tricky part
You got the prebuilt 60he right?
gravity and using the big space bar slot
if you have the prebuilt with the stock plate then you should be fine with this method
take a switch puller
but it's not easy sometimes
and hook it under the plate where the spacebar is and pull up
nice
I’m so lost
but yeah i'm not a huge fan of friction mount cuz it is kind of tricky lol
Yeah idk
After this
If I ever meet a girl named friction
I don’t think I’ll test the waters
PTSD
Screw mounted?
yep
what’s your issue?
would like multiple opinions, so i’ll wait for what others say too
I’m having a completely seperate problem, just similar result to yours
😂
LMAO
its because i have an AC unit, so i have to tilt it away so i can reduce the "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" sounds
Mb bout my wording
Was rushing the vid to be 1 min as I don't got nitro
So the main idea of this would be that beaware there is 2 standoffs on both side of the plate and pcb that will be pushing out the o'ring, you would need to make sure that does get pushed in between the pcb and plate as those would be pushed above the plate more easily.
Yeah mine doesn't seem to slot is as easily as yours but after a few tries I managed to slide it in without anything "spilling" out
I pushed it in a similar fashion do yours
I recommend starting with one of those standoffs either side while inserting the whole top module with the oring into the case, then also pushing in the other side of the o'ring for the other standoff. Once you push both sides in, you will be left with the bottom side of the module with the oring. Take something or with your thumb and push the oring in between the plate and pcb evenly and as you push it in, push the module down so it can be inserted into the case.
Once you get it in, check if there's any o'ring that is sitting above the plate
If there is, take it out and retry
or you can take something like a card and push it in
@steel hemlock should be no sign of oring being above the plate
Nice
If you notice that any of your stabs sound weird like space bar or backspace then something wrong with the oring
@steel hemlock do you have any plate foam in?
it might work a bit easier without
but idk how it'll sound
Or you can the outer bit like i did
thats how i got my silicone to work
and also made the mounting easier
OH it's silicone
that would explain it
might would only fit in my tofu with the poron foam
stock anyway
The only thing I notice is one side of the space bar is a bit more rattly sounding but that was the same as before the oring
So I'll just need to grease it or something idk
yeah mine still does that a bit
just soak it in dielectric grease
that's all I've been able to do
it'll come back slowly just keep it greased
there we go thats better
gj
This was plate mounted
The quality is ass because Im recording off a wifi app from phone cause my webcam isn't plugged in
that sounds nice too
Voice reveal on the server? 👀
But it also shows the difference a bit more
HIS VOICE EVEN THACKS
LOL
bro can you read me a bedtime story
SM7B GoXLR is a pretty baseline mic for this kind of thing. If anything it's the ikea desk with no deskmat lol
I mean think abt it when you tray mount the board, the pcb makes direct contact with the case which would mean the sound reverb would go boucning in the case and travels through the case which would make it sound a bit hollow unless you use a dense foam
yeah I have an mv7 which is similar ish
I use the sm7b foam on it tho
o
puh puh
peter picked a pickled pepper
Ping Pang Pong
Ok enough keyboarding on a 1AM friday night before work
Thanks SO much you guys for the help
I probs would've figured it out EVENTUALLY but man just getting it done like you guys said made it so much faster
And the spacebar trick to pull the board out
Kudos man that saved me
Appreciated big time
anytime brotha
I'm getting the 60HE module later this week
W
I say I'm but
I wish I had the module
It'll be another build for a friend
same xd
Hehehe
Yeah exactly
yeah mines like 1 1/2 old already
and I've been happier buying other keeb shit in the meantime
I think when I have a nice mx build it'll be easier to sell and buy a module
so I can give it up for a bit
Got someone in this server that i want to sell it to, just dont know when or how im gonna take the chance with my parents on selling it and buying a module
real
I like wanna fully build my Wooting to the extent, then like build another DZ60 MX build and gummy mount that one so i can swap between both Wooting pcb and MX pcb in the same case
I'm NA
salvation
fair lol
If you're Canadian, Post Canada has a delivery with signature that require the payment to be done directly to the delivery driver by debit/credit and then postcanada fowards the payment to you
might as well reuse the one i have been gifted with
I think some states might have something similar
They take a small cut but
For things like these I feel can be worth
that's kinda dope, like they'd take payment for the whole keeb?
When the 30 series scalping stuff was happening some guy sold me a 3070 PC that way and I had 0 issues
not just the delivery?
Yeah
that's awesome
I missed the delivery, they brought it to the post office
I paid like 1400$ for the PC and Delivery
that's actually really cool to know
He got ~1350$ back?
I had no idea
I might use that in the future
cause paypal takes like what 9% anyway
I wouldn't do it for things worth less than 200$ because then you start seeing a dent on the money you couldve made selling it locally
exactly
Even with Paypal, I don't feel safe with anything that isn't friends and Family
agreed
But try convincing someone to send friends and family that you don't know
LOL
They taught me to not
yup
not fun
but I got some good deals over the years
I got a pair of turtle doves on a trade for a macbook LMAO
and got the soles repainted
Niceee
My friends are really into sneakers so I know a bit
But I’m happy with my airforce ones
Ok those are CLEAN
are there any good silent he switches yet
not really
mostly just lekkers/similar variants which are loud and jades which I find kinda clacky
are there any at all
damn
yeah there isn't
easiest way to silence boards lately with he switches is just a fuck ton of foam and tape mod etc
load it up as much as you can lol
ic
nah no tape mod
I think mostly really on foam
thicker foam i say
Case foam i would use sound deadner like kilmat or silicone
pads i would go silicone to remove the mid tones to give it a more muted sound
But they definitely are worth too much for me to comfortably wear to the gym
Poron removes the high tone which could also help as well so i would try both silicone or poron but from my experience silicone cuts out the mid tones very well to make it muted like advertised and tested which makes it quiet
Nop
Best results would be Clip ins and Plate mounts
Screwins are a guarantee no
even with the traditional gummy mount boards
o'ring doesnt work with screw ins
yup yup
I noticed my stock plate mount stabs have similar bottoms to the stems too, I might try and clip them sometime and clean them and re-lube them etc
Stabs seem to be the most pain in the ass thing to mod about a keyboard
@steel hemlock Staebies and TX AP clip ins would have problems with the wooting PCB plate as the housing is too thick which the plate compresses it and making the stem stuck between it
yeah stabs can be a pain in the ass
Oh wow
do you have dielectric grease?
I might as well drill hole sin my pcb and make it PCB mounted compatible LOL
I was looking at staebies
LOL I thought about that
Good heads up
imagine
What about Durock stabs? Are they even worth touching
LOL
Dom do you have dielectric grease
Sure they're fine
for your stabs
Somewhere in my dads garage definitely
That mf was bored just the other week and built a whole ass boat from scratch
I’d be surprised if he doesn’t
ok find that, and take your stab wires and dip the ends where it bends and clips into your stabs
like coat it good
past the bend
trust
Durock stabs are fine, i'd say they're pretty average and iirc i dont think they have clip in stabs only plate mount and screw ins
correct my if im wrong anybody
Oh I was talking about their plate mount stabs
I’m fine with my current keyboard but as I mentioned getting a module for a friend
Idk if keep screw ins and burger mod mount instead of gummy or smth
try the dielectric grease on your spacebar dom
Or upgrade stabs
Oh for myself I’ll definitely do that
yeah I wanna see how it improves it
I’ll keep you updated
for mine it just makes it more consistent
if you do a good enough coat so it's covered all over the 2 ends just past the bends
it'll sound great
you almost want it to look like it's more than you'd think is good
And holey mod right 😂
Is it even worth
it wasn't for me
The bandaid and hole mods I see for stabs are just wild
I couldn't get it to stick cause I had too much lube already lmao
So much effort for tiny changes
You can lube and grease just fine
You don't really need to do the extra mods
Stabilizer pads?
yeah
I forget which "mod" that is
but some people cut up squares of band aids
and put it on the pcb where the stabs hit
Wooting pretty smart with the imprint of the stem bottom out on the pcb
So I’ll just do grease with mine, that sounds great.
Otherwise for a wooting module, would you replace the screw ins? I’d assume they’re pretty good stock but then your best mounting option is burger mod
wait what
I never noticed that
LMAO
yeah when you take out your stabs and look on the pcb
there's like X squares where the stem hits
that's dope
it makes it useful for people to know how big to cut the bandaid and where to place
that's why they sound decent lubed up
without having to guess
even the plate mounts
mhm
that's dope
yup yup
oh wait you mean just the x lines in white?
or does it like depress there too
I thought you meant there was like a divot
lemme take a pic
ye ye
Ok time to sleep for my boys goodnight ty again and I’ll keep you updated Dave
xd
GN
Gn
GN boss
yeah I just checked that lmao
lol
on the ones with pcb mount you can kinda tell by the 2 holes anyway
but the wooting pcb is so dope
oh yeah thats for the pcb mounted
oh I didn't notice with the plate on
lol
So everything was perfect until it was time to take the metal bar out of the stabilizer housings. There’s no explanation on how to remove it properly and I’m pretty sure I just broke the stem from removing the bar without explanation… can someone help explain how to remove metal bar from the end stabilizer housings? Just want to lube them and throw them back on 😕
how can i add an insert key to my wooting keyboard?
the metal bar (stabilizer wire) is clipped into the housings. You can push it out (which can require a bit of force) and then it pops out.
In Wootility under “Remap”
yes but idk how to add an insert to it
drag insert from where????
Unlinked?
Yeah, all good!
guys what will be the best switches for wooting that sound and feel good
cuz the stock ones are really haevy and quite
anyone got any keycaps recommendations
Just got the 60 HE+ yesterday. Paired it with the GMK Mecha-01 I bought years ago. Might upgrade/mod further in the future.
Alright modders
Thackson out
looks good
i was planning on getting those
ended up with this
Thanks! That looks clean. What set are those?
Akko Cool Gray
in Australia it was fairly hard to get
and i really like the subtle gradient and texture
sounds better too, compared to my wooting sub dyes
Awesome! Glad you're happy with them.
should i get these Lol
Ur choice
would u ?
Me? I wouldnt mind it
But id rather run anime girl shit for my build if u ask me
Including the optimum case
@stone wharf i meant the case
Like the tofu60
If u ask me if u wanna run gojo go ahead
Optimum is a youtuber
His got a collab for cases
With wooting
And it shld b coming out this
After the 80he is kut
Out*
Or idk
which one looks better? @paper bloom
ohh
okay
There are some good stuff there
Im probs gonna get this with jades or lekker v2s and the optimum case
So first ima secure the case then the keycap
Then ima see for the switches since i will no longer need to do a burgee mount anymore for the optimum case
@stone wharf not on amazon
I cld find u some when im back
alr
What all do I need to do when I get my module and switches? Are they already lubed? Are stabilizers already in or will I need to do the electric grease and all that? Also do ppl still do the band aid mod? I did that on my current keyboard
switches should be factory lubed, stabs are in and lubed with grease
Ok thank goodness. I went so hard on my current board, I just really don’t wanna do that again 😅
Gonna miss my tactile switches
What case are you getting
yeah im even thinking of building a non magnetic keyboard to experience tactiles again 😄
but wooting is still the go to for gaming
I’ll keep mine, but i definitely won’t ever use it again
Give me a HE switch that’s tactile. But put a note that actuation needs to be set to 1.0MM that way it doesn’t start till after the bump
I think there are some gateron switches that have some tactile bump thingies that fit into the wooting switches
I personally think it kinda defeats the purpose of rapid trigger, but it can still be done
True but it would still be nice to press down again if you don’t fully come off of it
tbf, it's not entirely defeating the purpose. In combination with rappy snappy it might be quite nice
well now that I think about with rappy snappy specifically it might be cool, but rappy snappy still works dynamically, not only at one level set by the tactile bump
wooting could make some tactile parts for the switch and sell as accessory
miss
that gonna look bad after a while
I have some questions about wooting 60he. Will there be any problem with trigger accuracy or the accuracy of RT function when using magnet jade?
Nope Just jades have 0.1-3.5mm where lekkers have 0.1-4mm
4
maybe
Everyone here amazes me with just backlit keyboards. Idk how yall do it, I can type without looking and all that but I just love the shine through
I got these from Etsy
that’s a crazy rgb choice 😭
Get one you like
No I would never use that, that’s just in their pic. Mine will prob rotate. Or something. One of the reviews where someone posted after they got theirs I’ll show you
Because we have muscle memory also without looking it is faster
Yeah I don’t look either I just like that I have it. If that makes sense
In reviews someone that got these keycaps has a wooting so I was like heck yeah they’ll work for when I get mine
left
Once you go upside down spacebar there’s no going back
why do people do it
Fax
Oh snap
Guess not

But yeah I like it
Just more relaxed position for my thumb
Just personal preference type shit
My thumb sits flush with it normally
