The Band-Aid mod is among the easiest mods around there and requires the least number of tools.
This mod should eliminate high-pitched sounds from the stabilizers hitting the PCB, making the sound a bit softer. Let's see how it performs in this video!

@grand hawk
does anyone have time to help @grand hawk with their 60HE+? Thanks :)
DOES SOMEBODY KNOWS WHATG KEYCAPS ARE THIS???
anyone heard anything about these? https://geon.works/products/geon-raw-he-switch

Yep, was announced abit ago. Basically a long pole switch with better stem wobble fixes vs raptor
Intro Hi! So Dandy is coming back for a second round. When R1 ran, the hobby was a completely different place. You will probably notice quite a few changes for this round. First and foremost, no second base, just going green. Going R5 and text+icon. Had to make some big cuts sadly, but I'm hoping you'll love and suppor
Pretty clean
Sure Wassup
I fixed it đ it soudns aweseom :3
Thanks
Thank you Thockson, but all good now!
they're doing holy60 in PC that's neat
Idk I think I prefer it in metal
oh man
the qk65 HE does not compare
@harsh dove if i switched to jades from my frankens would i have to change the actuation point and sensitivity since the jades are 3.5 vs lekkers 4.0 travel distance?
No, your board will recalibrate on its own after you swap them
do you think putting the lavendars into the wooting would brick it?
Neo Lavender HE?
No
got any thoughts on them vs the jades?
Haven't received them yet
Thockfather will be testing them on Wednesday, if all goes to plan
does swapping lekker springs into jades work?
mainly depends on the free length of jade springs and what you consider work if the free length of the springs isnt the same
My 22mm springs just showed up I'm so excited
Does durock foam switch film fit on the lekker?
Ooh shit, the new coiled cables are out. I completly missed that
@harsh doveSorry 4 the ping but what would u recommend running for lube and greasing for stabilizers
Ive checked alex's vid but i am unsure because his running 2 different lube instead of 1 since wouldnt it be easier to run 1 instead of 2 diff lube? and uhh are u using swag keys v1 or v2 stabs if i can ask
Hello team, id like to make a custom keyboard for my girlfriend who has minor health issues and cannot game for extended periods of time but REALLY wanted a wooting 80HE. I know about aftermarket springs that might help with that, and i still want to go for an aesthetic look, any help/suggestions/recommendations or video guides/pointers to get me started?
Plenty of you want to customize the 60HE to your own liking. We understand that many might have questions how certain materials make the 60HE sound like, lubed and unlubed. So in this video we showcase all of that.
ABS case: Stock Wooting Tray-mount case (included with the 60HE)
Wood: https://kbdfans.com/collections/case/products/tofu60-walnut-...
For the 80HE its running a gasket mount for a aftermarket springs you'll need to lube
Ive sent the link which has the included playlist the lubing and greasing of stabilizers
For a aesthetic look for the 80HE id recommend just running a module and run a diff case that she shld pick and then for the keycaps as well
For the Switches id say run L45's and then do a spring swap Since Lekkers are the newer edition for the 80HE as compared to the ones being sold on the store currently
For keycaps u can check here :https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/
O and you gotta hand lube it which is what i recommend for the vid here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxHb6CJc9V8\
Here is how I mod my stabilizers. I get asked this a lot of my streams and honestly, I figured why not just record this so I can link this video instead of having to re-explain it every time. I hope you enjoy it. Please remember this video is only covering lubing and installing, some stabs like cherry clip-ins, you'll need to clip the bottom leg...
@scarlet barn This is all i can give
bless ur soul i appreciate it tremendously, I will take a look at all of these đ
Hope it helps hf with ur handi work you'll need it
Any questions u can ask here
ok not getting that then
u can see more modding stuff as well in the FAQ here: #đŞâmodding_faq
thank you!
Welp hf now ima go
wait real quick dumb question then, im not seeing the keyboard base (module?) on this list, should i just be getting the default module from the website then?
For building ur own
Id recommend running a module
BUT u gotta buy ur own case which they shld show for the options
in the module section as well as the switches
The 80HE module is running a polycarbonate plate
While the prebuilt runs a steel plate IF i am not wrong
There will be a 3rd party sooner or later but it depends on when
ok im sorry im not ENTIRELY understanding, does this mean you would suggest one of the 2 in the ss or try to find a nicer one through a different source?
you know your keyboard has those stiff plates behind switches and the keycaps?
Thats called a plate
Then behind the plate is ur keyboards motherboard called the PCB
The plate is swapable so long as clearence and compatibility allows, my recommendation is to run a poly carbonate which is the module
IT does not have a case nor keycaps or switches which u gotta pick urself
The keycap u can go thru a 3rd party switches as well as stabilizers
Idk about the CASE which is the outer one
ok thank you for clarifying, does this mean that plate is the "module" advertised on wooting?
Module is a Diy while prebuilt its just prebuilt but u can modify
@scarlet barn no
Im just saying the differences thats all
gotcha i appreciate it
what would you suggest out of curiosity?
Module and the case u wanna do
Lube for ur switches since ur getting a spring pack
And either l45 or l60
If not 3rd party switches in #đŞâmodding_faq
I am running the wooting 60he insyead of the 80
So idk bout ur case
@scarlet barn so for keycaps id run like anime or somethin with jap hiragana since its a personal preference of mine
And theyre all in cherry profile
I just ordered the wooting I seen itâs pretty common to get aluminium cases for them?
Which did u order
If u buy the prebuild the plate is steel
60 he+
The modules polycarbonate
damn do u think theres any prebuilts that exist for the 80? bc im worried abt getting diff parts and things but problem being like, im worried abt getting the wrong parts LMFAO
Dude the screenshot u provided has alrdy been prebuilt same with the module LMAO the module just dont have switches and a case
Nope I just got the standard keyboard 60he+ no modules or anything
Like go and explore
The plates steel
The case is plastic
OH ok thats what i thoughjt sorry i thought u were referring to the parts that wasnt the keys LOL
The parts differ
It depends on what u want
So is it common to replace the case with aluminium cases?
I wanna mod the keyboard but I kinda feel like Iâll break it
And I donât wanna re lube the switches and stuff
Takes to long and they donât sell the stuff In my country
Then leave it as it is or hire some1
Or DIY
It depends
We will see how much the sound out of box annoys me before I make changes lol
Do keycaps really make much of a difference of the way a keyboard sounds?
yes
even just keycap materials make quite the noticeable difference
Hello there, pretty new in modding, i was wondering if i should put o'ring on stabs too, or only on switch?
I have 200⏠what can I do to have the best keyboard in the world at this price
the cheapest wooting kb
lol thatâs fax
whats the length of the lekkers?
Do you already have stock wooting
Loctite Dielectric Grease or 205g0 is fine
I use Swagkeys Knights Stabilizers
have you done a spring swap for your jades cam?
No
whats the hype around swagkeys knight stabs?
Idk about the hype, Iâve just been wanting to try them for a while and they were always sold out
Looks like I might get my lavenders sooner than later, theyâre already in Denver and it said Jun 3rd-4th
nice!
Oh nice man. Mine are out for delivery today so will still plan to stream tomorrow.
Yo I just realized this 461E isnât quite what I had in mind
I thought gasket mount was 2-piece case that closed in the gasket/plate
But seems like a built in friction mount?
Or am I tripping
Ye but isnt there a v1 or v2 ?
I'll just assume is the v 1
You have a time frame for when you plan to start?
Honestly depends on how I'm feeling. This sinus/double ear infection still has me feeling like crap.
No
Itâs friction with slots for the âgasketâ, itâs not really either.
Yeah weird
Not in love with that once I realized
Leaning more towards frog mini now
I donât know of a case which implemented gasket like that so not really much to go off.
Anyone have any recommendations for places to get good keyboard cables?
It does include hooks or something to take it out easily.
Wooting just released their new color cables
Dang it! i didn't see those in my rush to get my order placed yesterday T_T
i sent an email a bit ago
fingers crossed
Which is cool but I was trying to maximize quiet and was hoping for a full enclosed gasket kind of mount
Wtf?
Type PCB Screw-in Single "TKL Kit" contains the following NOTE : Â this kit is for a TKL (Tenkeyless) layout keyboard Stems and Housings * 10 (5 Sets) 2u Wires * 4 6.25u Wire * 1 7u Wire * 1 Gold Screws * 10 Silicon Washer * 10 Made by JWK 2U : 2u wire1, stem&housings2, gold screws 2, silicon washer 2 Improvement

They fixed an issue where the wire keeps popping out
Yeah theyâre not the same lol, I have the Knights
Knights are the ones you want
Oh
Ok that solves it out
Correct , itâs not a two piece case
They fit into little cutouts/holes inside the case
hello, I'm looking to swap the case for my wooting 60HE+, I'm looking for something aesthetic and clean look. Any recommendation toward low end please. Thx â¤ď¸
Tofu60 Redux is a great option.
Very Clean, Minimalist, and under $100 with the added weight.
Seems not as quiet as a frog mini
Fk
Usually over $100 after shipping
Is there a typing test vid?
Not on Ali express unless also buying brass then itâs close
Or just guessing?
No thatâs why Iâm waiting for yours to arrive
Yeah with brass on Ali, I thought itâs close to alumaze price
After shipping
Based
Yeah the dude that has the black frog mini has been trying to sell for a couple months so Iâll risk it for the biscuit
If it ends up being nice and quiet would be great to save $200
But ultimately am ok to go all in if frog mini is the answer
has anyone used the iso pc plate with the original 60he and had any issues?
Well the 80HE is a two piece case, so not entirely the same
461E is just a one piece case
And you insert the gasket into slots inside the case
The 80HE is more like the Frog Mini where it clamps down onto the gasket, forming a sandwich
yeah good point
@harsh dove Yo (ďžâăŽâ)ďž* Big bro!
Any updates on your lavenders?
Well they said theyâd be here on June 3-4th but theyâre already in the next town over from me so we might get them this week
Glory be to DHL Shipping
Theyâre always fast for me
Which I find somewhat funny cause they consider where I live a âremote areaâ
Yeah thatâs what I want

Nice PP
@harsh dove if I'm feeling well enough, I'll stream em tonight
Oooo
Donât hurt yourself
Me likey
I also just like the color overall , not just cause itâs a new switch lol
those switches look so good
And they donât say Gateron on them
hehe
Call me crazy⌠but i swear the right rail is curved?
its a bit hard to tell due to the picture quality and angle but yeah it does appear to be slightly curved

I can feel the jades getting surpassed
DHL go hard no matter where you live
you in the middle of kansas? don't matter they got you in two days
Fax no printer
I can feel it too
Hi guys, I have a question
are there any 6.25u stabilizer sets that have an internal housing of silicone?
they're sold out everywhere rn
which is honestly pretty wild
Yeah they usually are
Which is why it took me like 2 months to get them lol
Or you pay crazy shipping
Iâll buy a set on sight if thockfather says theyâre lower/quieter than stem swapped raptors
The Swagkeys Knight screw-in stabilisers using their new silicone doubleshot mold. Found a norwegian site for them. I'm amazed
Yes
Huh very interesting
Its like a small rail inside of the rail
Also looks like two parallel rivets? Or guide lines so to speak
Yeah
Idk why my phone put perpendicular lmao
Yeah just odd that itâs curved to me
Does anyone know any keycap sets that are fully transparent? Similar to the "Lelelab crystal superx"?
Look up Polychroma keycaps
Might like those
From Glorious?
There cool, not quiet what im tryna go for tho
these are cool
No i got nothing
There clean, shame there are no real clear sets out there tho, at least in stock or that i know of lol
Iâd think it looks curved because of the lube.
Raptor have the same thing.
Tirade said itâs actually curved
Wasnât there talk about closed bottom raptors almost right after the jades released
Iâd have expected them sooner tbh
Harder to tell because itâs black and the angle but it doesnât seem to have the same curve
Curve is odd but they do have the rail within the rail, just open one up.
Yeah I think I do recall them having the same rail within a rail
I feel like itâs been talked about before
Yeah, they do. Itâs for less friction maybe.
these would look great with the frost and ghost 80he cases
I imagined it was for stability but that too possibly
I think itâs to do with binding, going off of what norbauer wrote about stabilizers and their housings.
either way, pretty sure Cherry had it too and Gateron as well.
Gateronâs lawsuit doesnât seem to be of importance yet. đ
any1 got some reccomendations for screw in stabs for the 60he+
I don't think it was ever a lawsuit, just a patent warning and patent notification, which they now proudly display every chance they get. For example
Endgame Gear KB65HE Magnetic or wooting 60he+

Pls rep me
Cherry needs to make their own and reverse the cycle where Gateron was the copier for MX
60he+. better hardware and software.
But look the price
Be objective
yup. in consideration. if you want to be budget, theres other budget options.
Okok and to make a custom keyboard, how much budget do you need?
Depends on what you're going for really theres options around budget
and also consider, do you need to do everything all at once?
I'm looking for a high-performance magnetic keyboard
Yes
I don't think it's enough but I would have 200⏠maximum
first of all, what size keyboard do you prefer using. thats a piece to it too. If the 60% keyboards aren't a good fit, you wont' be happy with the wooting, regardless of how good of a keyboard it is
If you can wait the 80he will be the best performing HE keyboard with the best software/hardware and sounding pretty good stock
I've always been on 60% so it doesn't bother me at all
It will be more expensive too..
Get what you pay for
Lol
Still under 200âŹ
Paying for disastrous manufacturing, the case is really not great apparently I hope that this will be corrected on the 80he
what
I mean the case has nothing to do with performance which is what you said you wanted đ¤ˇââď¸
even then the 60he case is pretty high quality especially when compared to similarly priced gaming boards
There are better cases for the same or less money but wooting has other advantages
People said that after I said âapparentlyâ so I donât really know.
Does anyone know a promo code because it costs me âŹ215?
Nope~
there are none
also iâm not so sure what you mean by âdisastrous manufacturingâ
Sorry I'm French and I don't speak English very well, I probably have trouble expressing myself
Does the quality of âABSâ and âpbtâ keycaps have a huge difference? 10⏠extra for the pbt is this correct?
On the 80he what is really the difference apart from the size?
ah thatâs fair iâm not entirely sure what options there are. from what Iâve heard from friends and people online the case is pretty good especially compared to bigger brands like razer and steel series however I donât have experience with it myself nor do I have experience with many other options.
ABS shines faster than PBT https://wooting.io/post/abs-vs-pbt-what-are-the-best-keycaps
Okok thx
Thx too
for those who case swapped to an Alumaze, did you change out the stock stabs for screw ins? Any recommendations for good stabs?
Why change from stock stabs?
the prebuilt comes with Plate mount, the module comes with screw ins. wondering if its worth changing to pcb screw ins as i swap to gateron jades
Not worth unless your stabs suck and you cant get them tuned
Depends if you want to experiment or make the most of what you have. And depends on plate and what youâre going for. The stock stabs with a hand lube job are pretty solid tho.
Yeah thereâs a lot of needless stabilizer anxiety IMO
â¤ď¸
Get stock wooting and a bakeneko 60 o ring if you can afford it
That's about all you can afford
https://geon.works/products/geon-raw-he-switch vs https://shop.wuquestudio.com/products/ws-dash-he-switch-70pcs which ones you think will be better lol
Could be but I wouldnât think they state a warning like that if their patent wasnât actually infringed upon. We have closed bottom raptors now so thatâs what I meant, their warning doesnât seem to have helped them, yet.
Two entirely different switches. One has an open bottom and the other a closed bottom. Dashes are recolored Jades so you can listen to a sound test and see if you like it.
ty i ordered jades with my wooting 80 so i will probaly grab the Geons!
they seem nice have you ever used any switches from them?
Raptors I did and still do. I donât know if the clear version is from the same manufacturer though.
again ty im new but loving this keyboard community
do you hae a suggestion of where i should buy my lube station and maybe a better switch puller? and just lube in genral i did order woortings to try
Iâd recommend buying lube from AliExpress if you donât mind the wait, it takes like 7-10 days to reach you I believe.
Iâve used many switch pullers and the TX one doesnât really have any cons.
Mind sharing where youâre from?
South west Mo
?
that one
Nono, that one isnât good at all.
Ugh
sense id be order switches ?
is that same one
thats sad lol it looks good lol
Yes that one is the more expensive one but is as good. Is is the cheaper one:
bro thanks so much fr
It really does and itâs quick too but it dents and scratches the switch plate every time you pull a switch sadly.
im using gloruios keyboatd rn and really wanna star doing some custom leyboards
do thx any other HE switches coming youve been looking at?
im down to spend some money to find what i like
gettign those
ill check on these
magnetic jade e not confirmed to work "yet"
Yeah but those arenât perfect compatibility wise, a dual rail magnetic jade N version will come out soon that will be perfectly compatible.
magnetic fox atm is just a better lekker switch
bet ill wait on those
Also a reversed polarity switch.
it doesnt mention reversed polarity on the website
This is the lube @keen wigeon https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyWDfVl
It is.
i will take your word as truth for now.
I donât think the polarity is mention but the compatible board are.
Which are only reversed polarity boards.
An opinion on the 60he+ does anyone have it here?
lol how im gonna know what type of lube id prefer or even start
About the noise? Apparently he's not necessarily a very good listener. And have you taken AZERTY or QWERTY keycaps?
The Fox is indeed reverse polarity. Its just a Gateron OEM specific colorway of the switches sold with the Keychron HE board (officially/unofficially KS-37C's)
âGPL205G0â is for lubing your switch and stabilizer stems and housings. âGPL105â is oil for your switchesâ springs and âXHT-BDZâ is grease for your stabilizers but it depends what stabilizers youâre using.
I have the one from the Wooting kit. Itâs treated me well so far.
Makes sure I get that clip real good
The switch tool set. The switch opener also didnât provide me with any real trouble. Worked well.
As well as the brushes. Nothing special but perfectly functional.
I canât speak as highly to the tweezers tho. Personally, wasnât a fan and they didnât work well for me. Good for their pointed nature but not good for actually holding on to anything.
Had to replace those. But otherwise itâs a pretty solid deal. Fair bit of tools for $15.99
Anyone tried the L35âs?
The Wooting lube kit is a great value for what you get and if you dont plan to lube more than a few batches of switches, you cant beat it
If youre going to be lubing thousands of switches, there are better options.
Iâm actually such a fan of the TX switch puller, the wide one. It put pressure on the switch housing itself instead of pinching the top housing (and damaging it in the process).
Whatâs going on here
Also puts no force whatsoever on the switch plate. đŻđŻđŻđŻ
Its my favorite one too, by far.
I just want my lavenders and raw heâs
Boutta fly to Korea
Grab my shit and come back
You can do multiple switches back to back too and dropping all of em in a bucket lmao
patience man đ
Iâm most patient
Just buy stuff and forget about it
I want to know if they made the lavenderâs bottom housing tighter on the stem
Like Gateron did
if so stem swapping wouldnât be good at all
but maybe they didnât and we can have closed bottom frankensteins
Closed bottom frankenswitches would be huge đđť
My grandpa always said that
Lmao
Backspace on the right space bar is actually pretty decent. Iâve been trying to get used to it (space with left thumb and backspace with right thumb). Itâs odd but it has potential.
how does wooting auto calibrate switches?
Context:
Once during start up then dynamically during use.
thatâs sick
i saw ur comments abt tx switch puller
is it that good?
i have janky metal ones and they always damage the housing
It is.
The CNC one is good too but I personally use the regular one more often.
Itâs a bit quicker.
does anyone know the spring length of the lekkers
Roughly 16mm iirc
Oh so gateron made magnetic switches first? Thatâs actually really neat first time they did a first.
No
o h
Honeywell made the first Hall effect switches
Gateron just has a patent for closed bottom HE switches
ahh thanks
No, lekkers are made by Gateron and before that there were SteelSeries Omnipoint switches
Honeywell made the first ones in 1968
I have to ask do you think wooting might in the future make their own closed bottom switches w/ gateron?
Like is it a possibility.
I mean anythingâs a possibility.
Could be possible and likely without Gateron
But who knows
If you do can you send me some clips? I'm going out for a volleyball night, pretty sure i will be home right after you finish
Iâm headed home now to hangout with my anime waifus
Impatiently waiting for lavenders stream from ThockyFather

This one?
Whoops
Since you mentioned this; I actually did rip a couple of raptors and bent top housing so now I want to buy a new one
I use this one more often as itâs a bit quicker and you can hold the switches you pull in the puller itself.
Can someone make a short video for me tapping on the keyboard to listen to the noise?
60he+
Yeah, Raptors and Lekkers both. Their top housings arenât strong compared to 20Us.
With just any configuration?
Whatâs that one?
Hereâs one from a few months ago
So loud lol
Bigslyy would love this
Iâve yet to do a proper frog mini sound test
đ
Thatâs why I use it more often that the CNC puller.
Bro like link or something I mean lol
I see the thing but what is it/how do o buy one lol
I prefer the more minimal style
Anywhere, maybe check if itâs sold locally, if not you can get it from AE too.
đđ
Thatâs not me btw
Oh okay
random vid off of yt
So clean
Satisfying
What do you have right now?
How much does it cost?
are the new lavenders more thocky compared to other he switches like the jades?
Frog mini is around $315 iirc
Barebones kit is $250
Nah theyâre clacky like jades tbh
Fk bro now I want it
Lmao
They could possibly be lower pitched than jades, sound test are hard to judge because thereâs a plethora of variables, like type of keyboard configuration, case, keycaps, materials, etc.. The type of room theyâre in, the type of desk they have, thickness, desk pad or no desk pad, is the room treated or untreated, type of microphone, any mic filters, the list goes on
In other words, itâs not gonna sound like that in your setup
ong
hey guys i got a question... whats topically sounds better the polycarbonate or aluminum plate?
cause i have the wooting 60he module and i have the pc plate but it seems like i might like the aluminum plate more from videos ive watched
ok, i wish i could buy the aluminum plate :(
IMO, I havenât been able to get aluminum to sound good with HE..yet but thatâs just my ears, your ears might like it
I have faith that the lavenders might do it for me
Even tho they basically jade raptors lol
Iâll let the placebo takeover
i love my jades. i just need a aluminum plate to buy....
i wish i could just buy the wooting one
Stream starting in 5. https://www.twitch.tv/thethockfather
Post Keycon - Trying out some new switches tonight (Everglide Sticky Rice, Kailh/Akko Yellow and Sakura Pink, and WS Dash)
In the middle of taking of GPU apart, will watch on phone
seems like fun
Can someone drop some recommendations for their favorite 80HE cases that are clean/aesthetic
There are no aftermarket 80HE cases at this time
@stray tiger i missed your stream, what did you think about the lavenders?
i was there for, he said they are like jades but sound "more poppy" @heady terrace
Oh you tagged the wrong person haha
Yes, similar to the jades but a bit poppier is how I felt.
oh shoot sorry
@stray tiger have you seen the jade minis ?
Not in person. Ive seen both on stream (the E and the N)
do you have a sound test of your lavenders in the wooting?
and whats your fav config so far?
Just whatever was on the twitch stream, but I dont think it saves. @harsh dove will be doing a stream in the next day or 2. I'll also do another using the same board so that I can do some A/B testing
How was the stem wobble on the lavenders?
^^^ and is the lavenders similar travel distance to the jades or are they a longer pole switch.
I ain't streamed nun bro
Wait really? Nothing at all?
its an original layout and has a lightbar + its new. give it a few months and aftermarket cases will likely pop up
The board hasnt been released yet, why would you expect aftermarket cases already?
Improved from the raptors and you can still stem swap with the lekkers if you want zero wobble.
Interesting. Gives me one more option to consider for my final 80he switch I guess
Need to see what wooting is cooking for those lekker pros though
how do i take out a o ring mount?
meletrixx zoom65 launching soon! should be interesting to see it
Wondering if it will have a closed bottom housing đ
@stray tiger how was the stream, just got home haha
hey guys
i just found some stabs that sound and look great for a decent price
and i wanted to know if they would work with the wooting 60HE+ and 80HE!
They are screw-in stabilizers
does the wooting 60HE+ and 80HE take the same 1.6mm stabilizers or
Hey, can someone recommend me keycaps that have a similar style to https://kbdfans.com/products/pbtfans-cookies-n-creme
but no abs?

Yes
also, if you know, when buying a case, should i buy the tofu 60 kit, or just the tofu 60 case
im a little confused on that, if you've ever used their products
You'd want the tofu60 redux, that's the one that's in stock and compatible with the 60he
alright, thank you!
should i add any of this stuff?
Really depends on what you want, the brass weight is going to add to the weight of the case making it heavier. The jades are a different type of switch with more of a clacky sound (a lot of people like them) and the plates will make different sounds
There's the #đŞâmodding_faq which goes over in more detail each thing
Step 1) ask yourself âwhy am I buying a case anyway?â
The case looks really cool, and Ig it fits my needs of matching with my setup
i like the more premium feeling of it in a sense
Yup. Then a few things to consider, and definitely read up. You may also want to consider the polycarbonate plate from the wooting site.
I have another question, since the keycaps im replying from are cherry profile
and the 60he is north facing
i got the WOB version!
does that mean i will have to take the switches and flip them
nice! how are they
very naz, which ones? simple base or base?
if you're picky about legends, simple base solves that (icons instead of text mods)
simple base
at least for the next year or so
I would not buy the 80HE with high hopes of aftermarket cases coming out at the same time, if at all. Not saying it wonât happen, but if it does, they wonât be released when the 80HE is out
Yeah exactly
same, i got simple base WOB
did you change ur switch direction?
either way, i love their black zinc alloy case
i was told it was unecessary for cherry profile, i have my cousin's 60HE+ that is gonna be sent pretty soon by my mom
would you like to see together in vc?
sure
hey, i can't talk
sure
wow those look rlly nice
yep
the wooting 60he faq:
Oki thank you
it looks daunting ig, but should be fine
yeah
i don't think there is a visible difference
like
negligible
hmm
yeah, alright
I mean if it's not obstructing or feeling different, it should be fine
alright :)
tysm man
he sure will
alright, i have to go, have a good day or night!
1.6mm
Yes
if anyone does have the tofu case, which color seems most similar to apples space gray?
is it their anodized gray, or anodized silver
awesome, I will get 3 sets, one for my Q1 HE (confirmed already with Keychron) that I am currently daily driving, 60HE+ when it comes in a few days, and 80HE in August.
https://shop.wuquestudio.com/products/in-stock-ws-stabs-v3-1?_pos=1&_psq=v3.1&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=45141473394858
Stabilizers in question
Introducing WS Stabs V3.1 Black Glitter For the past several months, we have been working hard at designing and prototyping Wuque stabilizers, aiming to have stabs that can be easily used for any kit. WS Stabs V3.1 is specifically designed to match all 1.2 mm PCBs. However, since a lot of people ask us for 1.6mm PCBs
Here's anodized gray
Anodized silver
Would changing the key caps and the case of the wooting have much of a difference to how it sounds or is that all to do with lubing switches etc
What keycaps did ya get
the link just below is the keycap set I guess
every component makes a difference in terms of sound. but case is a pretty big one
Iâm from New Zealand and I am not sure if they sell keyboard cases in my country, however I heard itâs pretty common to get aluminium cases for this keyboard?
the most common cases for the 60HE are the Alumaze and Tofu redux i believe, the alumaze might be expensive bc of shipping, but you could get the tofu redux from alixpress, so shipping might not be too bad to NZ
What type of tofu redux? Isnât there like numbers after them or nah?
well, its the tofu60, but the redux is a 60 only
thats a bit of a big link, but thats the one
Danm yeah they look nice
I donât currently have the keyboard Iâve never really modded one before, waiting for it to arrive, I heard from somewhere itâs really loud or something outta the box
its not too bad
What colours you got?
theyre slightly different, but thats the most recent pics i got
Oh cool
I kinda want a white one but that means Iâd have to get new keycaps
White keyboards get dirty faster lol
Thatâs nice
Donât think I could be bothered lubing every single switch lol would it make that much difference for sound?
i got jades, but factory lubed is fine for me
I kinda wanna see if I can achieve like a Lego sound
Idk never modded keyboards really
It would be more hollow in a plastic case I assume?
Might not even have to mod it probably just wait and see
They are nice
i bought the lubing kit from wooting it is not that expensive and the sound difference is really noticeable
hello i have spawned in to say some potentially stupid shit, how does the "wooting" aspect of the keyboard work if we are ordering our own personal switches/keycaps?
likke lets say we are purchasing the module and then the case and then order our own keycaps and switches, does the adaptive keystroke thing still work?
am i dumb?
yeah you get the same features, module or prebuilt. module is more intended for guys who want to use a third party case for example with the 60he+ or use l45 switches and so on
most mx style keycaps should work so that means most keycaps out there, just make sure the language you want is the one you buy
ok cus my plan is to get the module, then the white zinc alloy case, for the 80HE, then custom design keycaps and switches, so that shouldnt interfere w the adaptive keystroke for the wooting?
only hall effect switches will work with wooting. see the latest picture in #đŞâmodding_faq for some compatible and recommended switches. as for keycaps you can choose whatever and it shouldnât matter (just make sure itâs the same layout & language as the board)
ty
i also meant to say make sure itâs ansi / iso / jis whatever you decide, get the keycaps that are compatible
Yes
Damn wish I wouldâve ordered that switch puller when I ordered tweezers and stabs â ď¸
You should get a decent one from Wooting with your keyboard
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005005913007417.html - just delete the â?â And everything after in your links next time
But I didnât.
oh yh ty
Rip. To Amazon you go
They donât have it
Iâm sure they have switch pullers available thatâll work.
Will you have keys like AZERTY in pbt double shot for not too expensive compatible with wooting and a qualitative case for this one not too expensive but on Amazon French
Have the lavenders been confirmed to work with wooting
If so then I might cop those instead of jades
i have them in my wooting rn
they are in fact working
I'll verify they work correctly in the next few hours.
@harsh dove or @median spade howd you guys fit your gummy o ring in with the silicone foam? i have 50 hardness i think and i cannot get this pcb in
you would need to cut it for the silicone
cut the silicone not the o ring***********
very important distinction there đ¤Ł
how many did you get for your wooting, and how much does it cost to have a 60he or 80he full with with lavender ?
i bought the qk65 HE
idk if lavenders are for sale by themselves yet
oh ok
Alr hope they work
They are available on swagkeys website. I'll be able to test them fully here in a bit.
thockfather have you used silicone foam with an o ring mount?
Negative, doesnt fit without destructive mods
ahhhh shit so no way around cutting it
đ what a pain
honestly
might cut mine up and try it
i loved how the silicone sounded
ive got scissors right here.........
I cut the edges of it
you ordered on sk website ? how much did it cost you to get a full set of them ?
same as it would cost you if you live in the US
I'm in eu
its 4.50 usd per 10 i think
@stray tigerDo u happen to know the dimension for the O ring for the stabs?
Sorry 4 the ping
Was $40 for 90 for me
ok cause i don't a qty next to the 4.50 $ đ
ok thanks
Lavenders confirmed to work fine. Red lines are Lekker and Blue lines are Lavenders. Magnets are reporting perfectly so it's safe to say that the new Grain Gold made switches are a solid replacement alternative.

yeah this been known for a while tbh
it's why you don't see hall effect pcbs by designers really
idk why but i thought the qk65 he was gonna be almost as good
and it wasnât even close đ
because they don't care is all
wooting whole bread and butter is HE
other comapnies just doing it to capitalize on market
i was actually just seraching up the message for someone
but the fucking discord search ended me up here
:/
The QK65 is the same PCB/Tech as 30+ other Chinese boards made by g.tech. This was discussed at length in their discord.
Hey I see this message and I wanted to know what magnet they uses or if I can uses any magnetic switch on ? If anybody can tell me
ahhh so its just a generic he pcb basically?
the zoom65 looks interesting, but not sure what switches they'll go with. They are advertising a 65HE PCB
Most of the HE boards are tbh
Thereâs a video on it, showing how most of the bigger names are all using the same or very similar PCBs
Kick rocks
Itâs like the same thing with gaming chairs, theyâre all made in the same factory for every company, just different brand name slapped on them, itâs all the same chair
^ this man speaks fax
Will you have keys like AZERTY in pbt double shot for not too expensive compatible with wooting and a qualitative case for this one not too expensive but on Amazon French
any magnetic sensor will work but depending on the magnet orientation and strength you get more or less usable switch range
So depend of magnet in switch ?
yes
the reason why is this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauss_(unit)
The gauss (symbol: G, sometimes Gs), is a unit of measurement of magnetic induction, also known as magnetic flux density. The unit is part of the Gaussian system of units, which inherited it from the older centimetreâgramâsecond electromagnetic units (CGS-EMU) system. It was named after the German mathematician and physicist Carl Friedrich Gauss...
For exemple that can work with that magnet ?
Force d'adhĂŠrence env. 160 g (env. 1,57 N)
Force de cisaillement env. 31 g (env. 0,308 N)
wait thats grams not gauss
Tu es francais ?
Sorry its pdf
but that G range is what the sensor needs to be able to handle

sensors have a max and min G they can read
also important is that those G values become less and less the further a magnet is away
so ideally you just test what works
if the magnet is too strong you need to move it further away so the range of the sensor can be used
So in my exemple the manget is good no ?
If i all understand
Gaming chairs a meme anyways
Team Herman Miller
technically all magnets are... you just need to get magnets that work at the range you want and dont need to be too far away from the sensor
any namebrand office chair really
i feel like gaming chairs are designed for the sometimes gamer but not "real gamers"
Hey any good compony to get wooting case as I didn't reilise by bot adding it I would ed get cheap plastic one and it 2weeks and another ten pound shipping so yeah
School chairs>gaming chairs
Which Wooting did you buy?
60he +60%
Module?
45
So you want to find a case for it?
Ueah couse buying it by itself costs an extra 40 like bruh
Wait I'm confused sorry (ââ¸âă)
So you're saying you bought a wooting 60he+ module but didn't want to buy the pre built version as it's 40 bucks extra with the plastic case and everything and now you want to find a case for the module?
I couldnt get prebuilt as I got the 45 I didn't buy the aluminium case thinking it would come plastic case and if I want to go buy the aluminium case it costs 30 pound more then if I got it with the keyboard and another 10 on shipping
And I'm also assuming that you bought the Lekker 45 to go with this.
Yep but if I want to have it in like switch or keyboard x)So technically I can put any like with any sensor. But in the example I took with the sensor this one, would it be possible in a classic use?
Wdym by 45?
One of the most popular budget aluminum cases that fit the 60he is the Tofu60 Redux from KBDFans, it is $60 without any addons though
biggest waste of money in terms of desktop setups. A good office chair is it
honestly no idea how strong the magnets in our switches our since the measured G is when bottoming out and the sensor is still a bit away. youll most likely have to order the weakest magnets you can get and then a few that are incrementally stronger. then check which one work for your purpose. after you know which strength works you order the amount you need
id recommend test magnets to be ordered in like 5-10 since magnets often vary in strength as magnetization doesnt occur in equal amounts
i got a "gaming" chair just because it was on a discounted price. I don't hate it, don't love it, but it was cheap enough to justify the price
Ok so what's your main point/question I general?
Are you just looking for a case as of right now?
Yeah sure tofu 60 redux is good, but the shipping cost from KBD fans is kinda expensive
I recommend buying from aliexpress as their shipping costs is cheaper
If you're in the US I say
But idk about the other regions
Thank u for ur tip ! :D
Its 5
Oh so ur pretty close to that region of where KBD fans are shipping I suppose
Well sure
You can buy it off from KBD fans if want to then
That's pretty good actually. I just checked for the US and it was $26
Ohh aight I'll prob check shipping times and fo with quicker
For me, they shipped it out around 5 days after the order was placed
took about 6 days to arrive in the US
I dont know that thx for tip ! :D
And sorry for my eng x)
That was also a year ago so I don't know if it changed
Ahh assume gotta prob wait another two week yepee anyway thanks for the help
Yup
Btw I don't gotta lube or buy rubber discs do i
lube and o rings are not necessary for a keyboard
they're just there to improve sound quality and feel if you desire it
Its roughly 120Âą15Gs - 700Âą80Gs (or potentially 102 - 905 depending on which chart I use)
Yeah im anti gamer chair, so unhealthy
hey guys, does the 60HE+ or 80HE comply with switch film? I was worried it would affect the performance of the switch and PCB due to added thickness
I found locally made ones are the way to go too if you have a shop like that. 900$ for an office chair with custom finish, make, and a 10 year warranty to replace literally anything.
Or like 200-300 for a gaming chair with a 2 year that always breaks right after the warranty ends.
I know which one I'm picking erry time
Yeah and especially if youâre someone who works from home or just in general is at their desk a lot, should invest in a quality chair just for long term health
Lavenders look so cute
Yeah, canât wait to get home and try em out
Will do a quick stream (maybe) and toss em in the Frog Mini and see how they feel/sound , they basically just lower pitched Jades based on Tirades testing

Maybe, in terms of quickness lol
in the case of lekker v1s Iâve heard switch films donât do anything
Yeah Iâd actually advise against switch films for HE switches, never really felt like they did anything , I know they can help with housing wobble
thanks
I've decided to go all black already in ISO-DE (which is the cheapest route vs buying a base set + int. kit) and then spruce it up with additional small mod sets â¤ď¸
i love how simple it is
Yup just straight up WoB GMK, hopefully it'll arrive by Friday
whatâs ur fav current setup rn?
Sorry but I'm curious, U use DRV5053 in sensor CD74HC4067SM96 for have multiple HE key but u use CAN after to go in microship ? Like DRV5053 > CD74HC4067SM96 > Microship ? I dont know how u used it and how u make it in PCB ?
Im just lost in all data what I have
For the wooting, frog mini with jades or lavenders when I get them , 70A tadpoles, silicone insert, no case foam, no tape mod, knight stabilizers
if u donât mind can u send a pic of ur silicone insert
idk how much i should trim off the edges
iâm thinking abt getting jades. the lavenders are only okay for me and the spring weight isnât as light as the 40
idk what stabs i should get tho bc i have the normal pcb not +
Jades and lavenders are pretty similar
Lavenders being slightly lower pitched and poppier as tirade described it
I didnât cut mine if thatâs what youâre asking
the mcu has analog pins and the multiplexer just gets told which of its inputs to route to its output which is connected to the analog pin. that pin just reads the analog value then
oh howâd you get it to fit with the o ring then?
ohhh
whatâs the 70a tadpoles?
Okay so u have simple circuit like HE sensor (Analogic OUT) > multiplexer > mcu ?
But I see he have HE sensor with numeric OUT, why u didnt take it in like 60HE ?
drv5053 is analog
it outputs a voltage depending on the gaussian field acting upon it causing the hall effect to occur
Itâs what the frog mini uses as its âgasket mountâ
ahhhh i see
if you mean the I2C mentioned in my original post thats there if someone doesnt wanna build a fully end 2 end analog circuit and use the simpler I2C protocol
Yes I see that in datasheet but I see HE sensor like A1308/A1309 OUT numeric and u dont need CD74HC4067SM96, its pretty mutch expensive since combo CD74HC4067SM96 + DRV5053 btw
I2C its only for I see like 8 max keys no ?
A1308 is also voltage out
So u need after CD74HC4067SM96 for it ? Or just MCU is ok ?
Like more of 20+
Not gonna say I understand it but this is the ATKâs PCB.
Ooooh okay, multiplexer is an obligation if u want more of 16 keys. Sensor get "inpute" by switch and he give it to the multiplexer and multiplexer give the signal at the MCU, right ? So after u just need to get right sensor for HE?
sucks they donât sell a white frog mini
it should also be noted they use completely different sensors
That not the 60HE ?
@median spade do you think i could recreate the setup u have in ur vid using a klippe t?
as far am im aware there is no MCU with more than maybe 8 analog input channels
so you can only connect 8 sensors without a multiplexer at best
60HE+
Oh okay thx, the back of PCE is really nice
traditional keyboards with spring contacts dont need multiplexers cause they can do multiplexing themselves as they dont read data but just want to know if 2 of their input pins are connected (digital pins not analog)
So if I all understand, I can have 8(8*16) key on my keyboard ?
i guess you could trace and build your own multiplexer without an IC but thatll be even more expensive
what
you can stack multiplexers if you really want
having 16x16
Multiplexer max is 16 keys, and max of mcu is 8 multiplexer is right ?
but that becomes tricky with talking to the multiplexers
Okay
also i said 8 is the max ive seen
most mcus that dont cost an arm and a leg have 2 maybe 4 if youre lucky
this is our arm mcu
Wey, what is for u cheap for mcu ?
ours has i think up to 16 channels total idk how many pins on the package we currently use
browse around
also dont forget youll have to program the mcu
it doesnt do anything out of the box
For first utilisation yep I see and after u want program with like logicial like u have
For interface
Ur interface is really clean ! :D
also if you want to know how to layout the pcb there is smth called the minipad which was opensource hardware i believe
it also has firmware with HE stuff
Oh yes If u know where I get it ?
minipadKB on github ?
Now Iâm kinda curious, is the ATK not really analog? It doesnât seem to have multiplexers right?
looks like it yeah
The Hm Xu has 15 and the 60HE 5 I think
Yes I guess too
But its just for layout PCB right ?
Yeah would be similar
firmware aussi apparemment
do you guys know of a video in which we could ear sound difference between lekker, jade and lavender ?
Same as Highground and Endgame
Just slightly different versions
Shame
Thatâs OEM for ya
Yep yep
pcb talk?
Probably same thing with the endgame KB65HE
Sent it immediately back when I read that I always have to press always further down than my last activation point
And that in order to have actually good latency
You need to install some beta firmware that has a low latency option
honestly I wish that there were more HE boards that donât have glaring issues or are at a price that justifies the performance
That KB65HE is like 160, almost offensive
Almost as offensive as the board itself
if you can, do you mind sending a pic of ur silicone insert? not sure how much to cut
I just ordered some Wuque Studio v3.1 Black glitter silicone stabilizers in 7+2 1.6mm kits which have the right measurements for wooting, hope everything goes well :)
I cut way more than u9sual, but I'm 1500 miles away from my 60he now.
However @fluid ravine did and his is way better. Can searcdh for his pics for look in discord
3 for myself (60HE+, 80HE, Q1 HE) and 1 for my friend (Q1 HE)
my 60HE+ should be here in a few days
I gotchu
You would technically just cut around the border where the oring would wrap around
But just use my pic as a reference
are there any polycarbonate cases compatible with the wooting 60he? alternatively, is there a way to gummy oring mount the wooting pcb?
Yes and yes
I use scissors btw
Snip snip
Gotta say, don't regret getting GMK now, even if it's just basic white on black, didn't think I would say that lol
Most average "good" OEM pbt sets start at like 70 to 80 made in China
I mean, I probably didn't pay attention to keycap prices but wasn't like a GMK set, basic one around 100 bucks before COVID?
And the inflation and whatever else happened
Or am I tripping?
Thereâs still sets around that price
Can find GMK base kits for $110
Gotcha I mean I guess, since I'm from Germany the sets that came with additional language support
Ah okay
I paid now 145 for WoB + NorDEUK which isn't bad
Yeah thatâs good
And I thought you know what, nothing that's available really hits me
And what is hitting me is ridiculously expensive
And I thought nothing's good as a basic WoB that you can later if you want color up
But yeah, that set used to be 100 bucks as far as I remember
Lemme check, yup
Man, COVID and inflation really messed with all the prices
Or maybe it's a different set since mine has more keys
sick thank you guys
Do you know some nice accent sets from different ones?
That would spice up WoB
Yeah yours comes with a fuller base kit so
Thereâs honestly tons of accents you can choose from, anything goes with WoB really
WoB is best set
These should be good

it also has a 6.25u and 7u wire
OoOooO
You planning to gummy o-ring mount your 60HE?
Are these the lavenders?
Did GMK discontinue the 1.75U space bar in forties?
I know boneyard had it but newer sets donât seem to include it.
Kitting is usually determined by the designer based on desired cost usually. I think only the older sets included everything by default. Now you gotta add everything piece meal.
Im getting an alumaze in black and then mounting it normally for my 60HE+
Did you get to test out the lavenders yet?
Yes. Magnets are perfect. Work great
