#đ§âkeyboard_modding
1 messages ¡ Page 219 of 1
Ok i bought one cant wait, even my balaced stabs always has rattle sound and i hate it đ
Yeah i use gmk should be safe
But spacebar might be wrapped idk
Yeah its usually keycaps with looser stem tolerances
ahhh I see. thanks for the insight. Do all 3 conduct light from the backlighting equally as good? I've seen keyboards that have legends with unequal light shining through, pretty awful result (came across a review of the awful new logitech gaming 60% keyboard has precisely this issue)
The Dye-Sub isnât shine through. Doubshot PBT and Etched ABS are great for RGB.
The dye sub keycaps are not shine through
oh yeah makes sense since it's essentially printing on a opaque material
For the shinethrough on ABS and PBT, that depends more on the LED placement on the keyboard and if that aligns with the characters or not
and I would suppose also on how the light emitted from the led is "guided" to the shinethrough portion of the keycap
I suppose how the switch beneath is built will also impact how the backlight is guided to the keycap
is the light beneath the switch or switching on the switch itself?
LED is on the PCBA
Itâs about if your LEDs are north or south facing. South facing LEDs donât light up legends as brightly as north facing LEDs do.
All Wootâs boards are north facing LEDs.
thanks !
had no idea there was these 2 configurations. Upon reading on it (https://keyboardable.com/north-facing-switches-vs-south-facing-switches/), I understand north-facing doesn't work well with cherry caps though. is that a concern with woot's keyboards?
That isnât a common issue anymore. Maybe with very specific keycap sets itâs still a thing but not at all with any keycaps Woot sells.
Yeah really only some switches on the mx side really
like the one true switch MX blacks
specifically with module?
Oh yeah it was the switches that caused it.
Need south facing ledâs
North facing straight garbage
Side print legends, come on folks
@polar girder you're saying litterally the opposite to what I've been told here xD
can a normal switch opener open he switches??
Yes
Yeah cuz I use side print legends so north facing ledâs suck for me
because the light of the led, being stuck north of the switch, can't possibility reach the shinethrough of the legend south side of the key?
(i'm learning, apologies for my stupid questions)
but if it's print anyway, is it even shinethrough?
goood
Yeah some gets through
But itâs lame not that bright
Side shine through I guess
Yeah, the top housing, which have now been rounded off to prevent this issue
Yeah works with module or regular 60he
wooting 80he comes with tape and foam mode right?
Comes with tape mod and silicone gasket mount
All of this is on the website
ok
Exactly! Also, south facing LEDs (because youâre looking at your keyboard from the front) look a lot better with non-shinethrough keycaps.
Hmmm, not sure I understand why though. By "shinethrough" do you mean completely transparent material keycaps, or opaque one with a shinethrough legend?
The backlight, the light you see below all keycaps is brighter with south facing LEDs as they shine out from in front of the switch.
Yeah, most if not all switch pads fit. Just check if they have an LED cutout.
I donât think itâs gonna be a big difference for the 80HE tbh
ah I see, so north for shinethrough on topfacing legends, south for shinethrough on side legends (with a tradeoff of less shinethrough on the topfacing legend)
and south facing LEDs for non-shine through/opaque keycaps, yes.
ah yes, if you want to have LED bleed around the keys (I hate that) đ
PET film tape..
Just a backlight, shine through keycaps have that too.
I'm surprised no one figured out a way to remove light bleed
with optic fibers for instance
Many like a backlight actually
Could maybe work but the keycap moves up and down of course, itâd be possible but difficult Iâd imagine.
long pole or normal ones?
had no idea!
Sent an email out, fingers crossed. Thank you!
I'm using normal one, but I also bought a pair of long poles too
will these fit the 80he?
Seems like it, yeah.
If the thickness is 0.3mm itâll fit fine.
0.3mm or less.
idk if i am wrong here, but arent these supposed to go on the PCB under the switches? cause thats what it looks like to me from the holes. and the bottom of HE switches is very different from 3/5 pin switches
Yes, they go in between the PCB and switch. These are for 5-pin switches but they work fine for 2-pin switches as well.
really? i tought the HE pins were much thiccer?
I donât think you can find them in a 2-pin + LED cutout yet. Maybe 3-pin originally for optical switches.
They're switch pads so yeah
No, mounting pins are thicker but theyâre in the same location as on regular switches.
ooh ok, fair enough
đ
0.5mm and beloew works fine actually @tawdry tree
I use to have them in my board (Took it out after 6 motnsh, regretted it, ima buy another set another time)
That pushed on the plate a little right? Thought the gap between the switch and PCB was like 0.2mm
this is my wooting60
wooden DH60 case
gmk olivia clones
raptor switches with lekker stems
tape modded and tuned
spacebar foam
it's really hard to get a wooting to thock because of how the magnets work but the spacebar is very thocky. However there is a very deep clack for every other switch and it has a very tight stem, it feels really good with a nice bumpy spring and an overall really good feeling
it's worth buying raptors and taking time to make the frankenswitch
because after using the lekker switches i hate wobble
Not so much to do with the magnets in a switchâs stem but more so to do with the lack of switch choices.
Na the black
black zinc case?
https://oblotzky.industries/products/gmk-cyl-mictlan ive been looking at these caps myself
or maybe gmk dots
you could also get some cerakeys if you'd be interested in that
i do also like white/beige with a black case but that might just be me
Beige with silver only
Those are sick
yep
K thx@
can switch pads go on the 80he?
well they use the same switches so I'm going to guess yes
ok
have a parcel shipped from wooting, via fedex - and its experiencing a Clearance delay - Import
"Shipment requires a Commercial Invoice."
What do?
Yes switch pads do indeed work with the 80he and the 60he to answer your questions, in my testing anything below 0.5mm should work fine, although I use 0.5mm I don't recommend it as it actually get compress and it could potentially mess up with some of the switches sensors. But in my experience I have not gone through any issue with it, but I still recommend using 0.25mm too avoid any issues.
it doesn't say what mm đ
ok
of where you're buying it from
I mean $5 for a set of 100 iirc
cheap as shi
Without any details of the switch pads in the image, I cannot say
Again works fine, but should def avoid sensor issues, go for something thinner
like Aligner said 0.3 or below
ok
I agree with him on that when choosing switch pads
Those are switch films
Make switch housing tighter but pretty much useless for jade and lekker
Sorry to ask but is thock all you think about?
ok
Hearing this from THE THOCKSON is something else
yes
LIke ArtGZT said they're useless as these films are made for MX switches mold, HE switch mold is too big so they come out warped when installed
ok
Yeah-
i cant find themmmmm đ
Is switch pad even good for lekker since the switch just has a hole at the bottom
Nah fuck a switch pad, homie
To be honest, optional, for my board I do personally find a difference
Don't really need tbh
Lolz
lol
Why would you do that?
LMAO
With lekker i would imagine the switch to be almost completely silent
why
i mean if theres a-
Aw hell nah
Sure ig
do yall know how thick the foam is in the 80he?
;-;
what is the difference
80he use silicone, so foam is mostly at the bottom
ok
Plate foam is the pad/foam between the plate and pcb
Case foam is foam being used in the case
EPDM foam is being used as case foam for the 80HE
60HE as well iirc
whhich one is added in keyboard modded
uh
Unrelated, but what case are you using Thockson? Im curious
GH60 Grey Tofu v1 clone
gifted by The Thockfather himself
niiiiice
Im craving the mocha redux
Never built a board so thinking itd be fun to do over the summer
I want my 80he but i dread doing the stabs đ

how do u get roless
Just not personally a fan of things potentially getting in the way of magnet/PCB connection
It could work. But could also cause trouble
makes sense
the 80he has tape foam and gasket mods already
Yeah thatâs cool
idk what mods to do thenn
I think I want gasket mount for 60HE
more foam??
frrrr
lol just lube the switches and stabs and youâre chilling
Cant really do that unless there is plates for it
true
wat are stabs
If you want to experiment, sure
But also I donât use that
k
Stock stabs are fine
@tribal tundra understand this, Mods in the keyboard hobby is mostly used to fix a problem in your keyboard and yet some to find a certain keyboard sound. Usually it shouldn't be used as if you WANT to mod the keyboard unless you got alot of money to spend on keyboards and mess around with it.
For now just get the board and if you have problems with it in any ways, slowly figure out the mods to get the solutions
ok
CAM was talking about the knight stabs coming with hole mod
the hell?
that gotta be interesting
also is the force break mod just a switch pad
Too much stabilizer anxiety
Yeah they call it injection infused or sth
Well not exactly
Right yeah
Different solution to similar problem
No, force break mod is for top mount keyboards
But itâs basically just silicone on top
puting tape between the metal contact of the chassis
is that the wooting 80he
reduces pinging
ooh
I dont like hole mod because it feels mushy for me
80HE is gasket mounted
Usually I'd say break it in but oh well
I agree
And without it the sound is so off from one side to the other even if i balanced the wires
Kilmat is a foam replacement
this is my first time so i have lots of questions
I bought 3 different stabs for my 60he and it was a nightmare because it was so tight and the stab doesnt go up
is there a difference?
Thereâa more things than foam you can put in your case or as plate foam
Kilmat, Polyfill, diff types of foam for case
Can put anything in there really. To change acoustics
Change how the sound bounces around
Can go empty for case and/or plate
Donât have to have foam or silicone or whatever
Stabs is my nightmare, others are easy to compared to getting stabs right
so does Pops (Thockfather)
too messy imo
Kilmat is AKA dynamat
Sound killer đŞ
Sound proofing for cars
I prefer denser and thicker case foams, reduced high pitch sounds
I think so long as you can embrace experimenting and playing around with combos youâll be able to make the most out of mods
yessir
Planning ahead and expecting to get it perfect the first time is a fools errand
The foam that comes with wooting is good, wont really change it unless u dont like the sound
agreed^
IMO the biggest mod is mounting style
and lubing switches/stabs
Different switches matter
Mod for a wooting 60he?
Yes indeed
Right
Mounting style just goes crazyyy
Heâs getting the 80he so there wont be much mods to do tbh
yeah
Oh mb
Wooting trying to live up to expectation
I respect that
Yeah I think itâs mostly just about the switches at that point
All im doing will be jades hand lubed, and stabs đ
I know some will be disappointed (Like the size layout for example) but i mean like cmon
The case foam and plate foam mods will change sound a little but itâs small change
they do some good shi
Fun experiment tho
I just need to get my hands on some new switches and keycaps
I was thinking about switch pads to soften the jades sound but nah too lazy
I did every mods out of my wallet (a non existent one to be infact)
I want the sound but not so loud but i dont know how loud it actually is because all i heard are videos
I don't think switch pads for HE softens the sound
more like giving a fuller bottom out sound
i would say
avoid tape mod
and try to use less denser foam?
80he comes with tape mod
then take it dafuq out
I will keep it because it actually look nice with it explaining the kb components
Might give jades a heavier lube, hear jades likes it more
yeah its pretty cool i agree
well who knows
try it out first
then give some thoughts lolz
I honestly kind of wish 80he didn't have the rgb bar
hmm interesting
If I want a no rgb build it ruins it
I donât like F keys but i got it for the arrow keys
Led bar is whatever, i dont really look at my kb anyways
I think black = off so itâs just there but turned off
group buy life
It's not even a group buy that's the problem lmao
it's an instock set and am gonna cope a set asap for my tofu acrylic
hmm should i lube my lekker 60s i just got today?
We can't really decide that for you. If you are into that sort of thing, sure? If not and you just wanna game, it doesn't really matter.
thing is they feel really gud
probably no need
idk if they changed their lubing methods but they sound diff from the sound tests ive heard on stock
sounds tests also just sound completely different
Getting new switches is better deal than buying lube and tools
Hand lubed is
Did anyone else that built in the Salvation have a more pingy left side of the board as well? My thought is that it has to do with the USB port location, but IDK.
It doesn't particularly bother me in any case, I actually kinda like the way my Wooting sounds compared to other customs. It's different.
No foam but the included *plate foam, for reference. Jades, etc.
Check to make sure none of the leaf springs are loose
Can also try burger mounting it
They tend to come loose esp over time, best to use some purple loctite on the screws
i just spent 4 hours lubing 61 switches i wanna die
and what parts of the switch have you lubed
I spent 6hours when i did it đ
Same
anyone got recommendations for a case for the 60he
tofu 60 redux
top bottom stem springs
does anyone have any experience ever ordering keycaps from antidote studio?? i tried looking online and a lot of ppl are claiming that it's just drop shipping (which it looks like for some of their items) and to avoid ordering from there.. however for the particular keycaps i ended up being interested in, it isn't anywhere else
would love to get them since they'd look really good with my keyboard........ but would love it even more if there wasn't a high probability of getting scammed
Most likely bought from china then, aliexpress, taobao or temu
can u tell me when theyre out ? i need one for my acrylic one aswell
i'll try to look for them on taobao, tried reverse image searching for these exact ones previously.. but sadly nothing came up besides their instagram post
..yeah, i sadly cannot find any other place for these keycaps
i think sound tests wiht dynamic mics are always misleading....
they just don't sound pleasing with thosed
especially
Only thing worse is when people record phone sound tests, drives me nuts as they are so inaccurate
Phone flat on desk next to keyboard so you hear each key through the desk and in an echoy room are the absolute peak of sound tests

yeah phones too, my keyboard sounds so flat and horrible recorded by a phone đ
As someone who has done/do proper sound tests
when I see someone has uploaded a phone one im like why
you just spreading misinformation basically smh
man what a good sounding keyboard, what switch???
is it the slam 30s??
đđ
exactly
i'm assuming condenser mics would be most accurate but i haven't tested that yet
Another Jades recolor. Spring is interesting though.
Can even be pc still but going from clear to opaque does a lot
No more pc
what does an opaque top do for the switch
better sound?
ohh
clear top pc notoriously the worst even on the mx side
depends on the switch
oh
but can be deeper, and can be more clacky
Yee
i see
like oil kings from gateron are deeper and use nylon top
but then you have cherry switches, and HMX which are clacky
yup
oil kings also use ink bottom housing however
nylon can be translucent too just not transparent I think
yep
No
You turn it off
Like a true enthusiast
yeah ik
milky tops are usually a nylon blend
it would just go through the channel on the switch
With opaque no
but yeah overall rgb would be hindered
or they could do what outemu did with boba
have a cut out for rgb to go through
yeah
possibly
most people using HE switches are epic gamersz (professional rgb users)
probably
when they see the market grow even more to get more sound oriented people iti will happen
but for now they know most are gamers like antiq saying and the jades will sound good enough
helps the performance ingame
yup
Letâs 3d print our own opaque tops @median spade
Are there any low profile cases compatible with the Wooting 60HE?
Damn I should've joined the discord before buying sticky rices
Time to send them back for return
How about we take the edginess down a notch or twelve
My life was threatened and Iâm very scared
?
is this 1978
or sum
did I travel back in time
No this is a keyboard discord
Lmao
wtv bro, I suggest experiencing some hardship in life if you "police" that sentence
Mr Akbar sir can I have your opinion on this per chance
snowflake ahh
My opinion on this is that the Alumaze60 looks nicer đ
How rich do you think I am
but can you really put a price tag on swag?
Yes
Well then it would be around 130 euro
I would sell you my black redux for cheap if I wasnât leaving across the country tomorrow
Yes.
Hope you overlubed you switches lol wooting is loud
Nah, ultimate ear piercing clack enjoyer
I want my coworkers to know Iâm hard at work
Hello everyone, i've heard that there is a vidĂŠo from wooting where they're explaining how to dissasemble the wooting 60 for modding, where can i find it?
The 60HE Module is compatible with any universal 60% case that followed the GH60 standards. This is how to safely swap out the 60HE into another case.
Our own Alumaze60 case: https://wooting.io/product/alumaze60

Thx!
Always wondered how you can lubricate your lekker switches or grease your stabilizer wire. In this video, we will deep dive on different methods of lubing and some general tips and tricks. Using the Wooting 60HE.
Krytox GPL 205G0 and Molykote EM-50L lubricant:

Oh pretty nice! Is this ok? https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005006554207379.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.5dd1378dNJXMsm&mp=1&gatewayAdapt=glo2fra
Or should I take a better one? It's my first time, i only saw content creator making this, never tried by myself
Thatâs fine for stabs, some users said they used it on switches but itâs quite thick, you can get a whole kit with tools for around $15-30
Wooting sells their own kits as well
So that's not OK for lubing switches?
You can, but 205g0 would be better imo
Full kit from Wooting for $23.99
How much should i need for all switches?
Gateron have just released new jade with dual rail but Iâm pretty sure they are incompatible with wooting because of the extended mag inside the switch am I correct ?
That kit will be enough for multiple boards/sets of switches
Theyâre incompatible because of the polarity of the magnet, it is South Polarity, Wooting uses North Polarity
They have a Mini N version that will release soon that may be compatible
Disclaimer: I donât like those tweezers
Canât grip shit
Fr fr
Wonder which manufacturer will be the first to do opaque top
BCP HE would be great
Itâs almost starting to bother me that there isnât a different top yet
Or even talks of one
The funny part too all these other companies doing clear top PC too lol
or the pa12 nylon
the geon raw new one is at least milky top it appears which is good
Yeah I think Raptors are the only Nylon top right?
One time I took a custom a colleague gave me a membrane and begged me to use it lol
I then swapped my work kb with silents
Gonna see if I can franken switch em
With what
I'm about to leave across the country for 3 months tomorrow so probs won't even have my setup or anything to game with
Rip
Go hiking every day or something
I'm prolly the only one here who regularly hikes daily lol
There you go
DOUBT
Almost 7 miles in the early morning 6-7ish
Dan I think you're like a fake person at this point
Yeah or you really are 15 and I'm not misremembering
BTW is hiking just walking for a really long time

Nope I'm 15 not working o. My masters or anything
I'll come say hi to you cam
Ayeee
...
We can go hike and grab some drinks đš

My morning routine in kinda brutal tho lol
First I wake up at 6-7 ish walk/run at least 6 miles usually more than don't eat till noon at noon I have a smoothie only real meal is dinner
Dan do you find yourself to be a humorous person?

Honestly I think I'm subtly funny
But yeah its igor voitenkos morning cutting routine great for losing extra fat you gained while.bulking
I don't usually follow his workouts but his diet advice is great
Good man
You know if thereâs any ambition for plate mount swagkeys knights stabs, @harsh dove
I doubt theyâll make any but who knows
lol no problem
Oh but you want plate mount ?
I also have TXAP plate mount and clip-ins at home
Yeah gasket mount, plate mount seems sweet
And you just want the knights cause you want quieter right?
Was gonna say you could try, bandaid mod and/or holee mod to potentially make them quieter
Or even stabilizer pads underneath
Like the 80HE has
I think I just need to buy the 461E
Lmao
BLOCKED
Now ima have to go check each channel
Stabilizer pads are used to buffer the force between both screw-in and plate mount stabilizers and the keyboards PCB board to provide a more secure snug fit and prevents damage to the PCB board. PORON urethane is an open cell foam used in the development of gaskets, protective gear, footwear, and...
This good? @harsh dove
Even better for plate mount
Yeah still works
Cause the stabilizer stem still hits the PCB
And thatâs where the pad sits
A lot of people's space bar sounds bad including mine but it's not the stabs usually tbh it's the case and the switches after I swapped the lekker to the jades and put it in a tofu it sounds SO much better
Itâs because they donât have GMK spacebars
Pics or didnât happen
Mine sounds great

But yeah not the stabs
So much stab anxiety
Just lube them and maybe grease them
Get better switches
My method is just, as long as it sounds like a helicopter
I want my stabs to sound like theyâre about to take off
Mine sounds like a helicopter crashing
I want my stabs to STFU

No codes except for the ones they give you
I'd like to sincerely apologize for making fun of you all for buying switch pullers earlier this week
Prying them off with tweezers is so freaking hard
Good.
Thanks.

I can get you $5 off
LOVEKBDFANS is the code
Thanks bro
Just trying to confirm ill be able to get a custom plate for it
Need the plate file from KBD to give to Tom
AND NOW YOU TELL ME
I COULD HAVE USED THAT A MONTH AGO LOL
Rip 5$
Rip
Uses standard plates as far as Iâm aware
The gasket just goes between the plate and PCB like plate foam or silicone would
You just need a standard 60he plate is all
^^
Thatâs honestly what makes it so nice, you have options and you donât need custom plates for it
Oh dang really ?
Yeah I couldnât make sense of all that stuff
Seemed like just a plate foam replacement
Thought plate still needed some custom mount thing
nope
you just take your current plate(s) and then put the plate foam gasket in
and that's it
It actually works the same way the 80HE does
As far as I can tell
Idk what that means lol
Youâd put it in similar to a friction mount but with this it âclicksâ in place seems like.
I wonder how hard it is to get out
Thereâs a hook or something included I think.
Probably easier than friction mount
with HE
not much difference tbh
they're both isolationg the plate with rubber or another gasket material
If you look at how the 80HE gasket works and how the 461E gasket works, itâs the same
Ayy the nipple case- Trademark by Pops
Canât believe he said such a thing
Lol I understand what âthe sameâ means. I just meant I havenât taken the time to understand the implications of that or how it actually works
Well I guess I gotta get it
Plus they have that design contest for best nipple design
So thatâs cool
Why are the screw holes in the tofu so hard to screw in
Ah okay gotcha lol
The case basically creates a sandwich
With the silicone gasket in the middle
Clamped down by the top and bottom of the case
A new week, a new update! This time, Calder explains a bit about the gasket mounting itself, but also the gasket mounting we use within the Wooting 80HE.

Can skip to half way
dude-
I just showed my friend that bought me my wooting the nipple case and I said "Look it's a nipple case, I want tat" as a joke of course
But then bro proceeds to order one a few minutes later and say "I bought it, I don't even know what it is for"
...
yeah that's what I was saying why i't snot biggest deal with HE rn
in order for the performance to be consistesnt you need to screw pcb to plate to keep switches as close and level to magnet always
Plateless HE when
HEless plates when?
If only sticky rices were stem swappable.
For plateless HE, weâd likely need 3 or 5-pin plastic pins for them to work
nahnah, screw in switches bro đĽ
Is that not the case with regular mechanical switches?
Iâm just a noob and in my HE bubble lol
nope they have legs and the pins to keep the distance
and solder in other cases
Well well well
Look what keyboard we have to lube here
And a free switch and keycap puller from my besto friendo
"Gasket mounted"
this shit stiff as a rock
the font...
Feel like the legends should been dark purple
The white contrast is weird
and that^
Ohhh right right. Ok yeah I knew that
Yeah Black plate always wins
đ
Why that spacebar have a 5 lbs spring?
lol jk Iâm just trolling
Godspeed bro đŤĄ
I mean it clicked
My first build stock with tape mod burger mount jades and tofu
Wanna get the wob crosshair and maybe a pc plate if it's worth it
If you're rockin the Steel plate with those Jades, PC plate is def worth it
The Steel plate is unbearable, it's a shame its stock.
for MX it'd be okay but for HE, it hurts
Really not sure why Woot does not seem to want to drop the steel plate already đ
If they dropped their price I'd be fine but at the price point it sells at, the PC would be huge.
Iâve thought about it long and hard and I really donât see any benefit in Wootâs plate, neither from business nor a consumerâs perspective.
Seems like a lose - lose really
Win win
They use existing infrastructure/systems, and get to upsell $20 PC plate
Plus customers can have options
Steel plate much more user friendly
Fool proof
pc Playe more room for error
Itâs soft AF
I honestly donât even like it that much but I prefer the sound over steel
Devilish contraption
Are these the clip-ins?
these aren't the ones that come with the module right?
Its the ones with uneven bottom which means u have to do the clip mod
Every time i see stabs my ptsd comes back
these are plate mount
well i did for on
e
but it made the modifier hollow
so ima not clip these
just lube them
Would be the same with a PC plate which I donât doubt is preferred by most, so itâd make a better product.
Paint chips and rust? Whatâs not user friendly about PC?
Stamped steel isnât cheaper than PC, surely.
lost to stabs gg
You would think, but all the $20 prebuilt on amazon also use steel
Iâd think cause the mold for PC is more expensive than the pattern for steel, maybe
Many have plastic plates too
no no not the stabs
well maybe
im talking about the case
lost to case, even better
oh lmao
i hate these
is it possible to open w/o breaking it? đ¤Łđđ
got it
Jail
Now just need the Xrays
One of my fave sets
Which case is this? Tofu60?
and my ghost cable
yeah top 5 set for me too
the white one? yeah the redux
Had my eye on it for ages but finally went on sale for around the price of the group buy
Can't go wrong with a tofu
Not sure if I'll end up cerakoting my raw zinc 80he, guess I'll see how it looks when it arrives
Bro this epomaker board a scam
Although i say this shit was hard as a rock even when they stated it was a gasket mounted keeb, but like bro, even when having the plate assembly with one half of the case with the gaskets, there isnt even any gasket performance in this shit ;-;
Cheap for a reason I guess
90 bucks
gmk67 gasket performance better đ
@stray tiger Pops I want to use polyfill but I'm worried about the battery, should I be using it?
Wanna see if replacing the foam would make the gasket performance less harden
I wouldn't want to risk that
anyday now
I wonder why they went with zinc over aluminum?
they had trouble with cnc alum cost i think
Oh that makes sense casting zinc is prolly cheaper than milling alu
Less waste
Yeah Calder talked about it in one of the livestreams in more detail
And machines are prolly cheaper
But wbt the quality is zinc equal to alu
and heavier too which i prefers
I saw in their latest stream that they are releasing new cables
Anyone know when?
I think I heard them say this week or sometime soon
Shld work
Unless u do a poly fill first then do a cutout
But make sure it has some room to breath else if the batt heats up I think thats it
Cuz thats an lithium Ion battery and doing a polyfill esp if its above or covered entirely from my knowledge WONT have an issue but the chances of rare blowups or some sort of cable problem cld arise down the line
and if u plan to get a new batt Then its a lot easier as well O and don't forget to account for heating properties make sure the polyfill isnt flammable
JUST incase if the battery goes
Just take the battery out because wireless is useless anyway
^Unless you want that capability then thats up to you
Ain't my board so idk
Better ask ig
I just want to see if there's any potential bounce with a dampener
Cus the stock is pretty firm
Shld be
Oh btw polyfill isn't flammable
Unless at a certain temp
Like 200 or 500 f or some shi like that
Ig it depends on what type of it as well
540HZ BENQ moniter or ima wait for the 480OLED LG
Would the battery not do anything?
Depends on the board

If ur friend uses USB ONLY the battery wont do shit
Unless he feels like running a wireless capability then theres something done to it if its removed
What abt dongle
U need the dongle for the board which is on the chip
If u remove the battery it wont do anything
So the dongle doesn't require the battery?
From my understanding if ur talking about the PCB
For this
Yeah ig
then yes it needs power/a battery
K
FOR wireless
BUT idk how the PCB is done from looking at it looks like a regular logitech board
BUT id say keep it
Case someone goes on a rant
Cheap board with cheap battery, I'd remove it just because I don't want a fire hazard in the house
All wired everything
The fire test. What harmful chemicals are you sleeping on?
Polyfill doesn't seem that non-flammable
toxic af
Alr I asked him about the battery
Ah
Lubing switches at 12am mid night
A time where my mom yells at me to go to sleep and my dad not giving 1 fk

Gotta love school
All the more reason I avoid wireless shit that I don't need to be wireless
Wireless pc when
MAGNETIC Motherboards soon
Magnets are bae, ngl
With how gpu keeps getting bigger, i have a lot of doubts
Like technology didnât really improve, rather they just added more components đ
Everything but my mice are wired
I like wireless mice too much can't go back
Yeah I go back and forth but I donât mind the right setup
I generally prefer wired mice tho
I haven't used a wired mouse since I got my gpx
I have deathadder v3 wired, op1 8k wired and m3k modkit (wired)
Only one id consider would be op18k or m2k/m3k
Should probably sell the op1 8k tho
But id still prefer wireless
Things have gotten smaller the last couple generations, shits just getting more complex 2080 ti was a 754mm die that thing was huge
yeah 50series will be like 10% bigger probably
I'm a fan means my computer runs quieter
cards are already bending because of how heavy and big it is rn
I doubt 5000 series will be bigger
4000 series air cooler were already over engineered
they'll just use the same coolers for 5000 series most likely
That's what I'm thinking, I doubt the die sizes are getting bigger and the coolers are already overkill
Imagine your 5000 series card is slowly reaching half your hall way
And then the 7k series is just gonna be through the wall
Anyone know some good keycaps that are grippy because my hands get a little sweaty playing sometimes and just wanna get a nicer pair of keycaps
hey guiys i accidentally disabled windows key somehow, how do i get it back lol?
could go with something like this:
they wear over time tho
Depends how you disabled it. If you removed the key entirely from the software you need to put it back in the "Remap" section
if you locked it by a shortcut, try FN+win key to unlock it
Otherwise I recommend getting some quality PBT keycaps. They have some texture to them so they grip more. PBTfans is a good option
nope i didn't do that
that doesn't work either
Unplug the keyboard and plug it back in
the windows key has no rgb coming from ti either
np
it might just be too warm where u are
Keycapo
Has not bad ones
The wooting ones are also good
anyone know the difference between the tofu60 and the tofu 60 redux
saw both of them and not sure which one is better to get
tofu60 is the original, it's (afaik, MOSTLY)compatible with the wooting pcb
tofu60 2.0 is NOT compatible
tofu60 redux is the redesign of tofu60, with a adjustment to the port which allows wooting pcb to fit easier
redux is the way to go then. tysm
Hey guys, I finally got the jade switches into my wooting but I have a question. I read somewhere that the jades has to be adjusted at some point, because there is a difference of the activation point due to the larger springs or something
u ain't gotta worry bout that
just plug n play, the keyboard will do the rest
the only thing you'd need to worry about is making sure ur firmware is up-to-date; i'm always running the latest beta and the jades have been working fine
Oh really? Thaht's awesome. Thank you
yup!
do note though, because they ARE in fact, shorter, your activation points are much tighter
say you set it at 4.0(even though that's physically impossible), it accomodates by making the whole range fit within how far the jades go
hope that makes sense
i could be wrong, but in a nutshell i believe ur actuation points are a bit more sensitive(for better or worse)
I see
Well I'll look how it feels and make some adjustments over time if it's necessary
Correct, if you use the Jade switches with an actuation point of 1mm, theyâll actually actuate at 0.875mm in practice.
So is it like a ratio between the normal 4mm and 3.5mm ig?
Jade switches have a physical travel of 3.5mm and Lekker switches have a physical travel of 4.0mm. You can set both to 40 different actuation point so for Jade switches: 3.5(mm) : 40 = âstepsâ of 0.0875mm and for Lekker switches: 4.0(mm) : 40 = âstepsâ of 0.1mm.
Wootility states mm when setting an actuation point but it is actually % rather than mm.
just use 0.0mm, then it will be the same for both

aha ok ty
0.00mm actuation point wennn
Let's keep the random gif spam to either #đ¸âmemes or not at all, thanks
Is it still planned to have wootility try to recognize if jades/ other switches are being used.
Yeah and it recalibrates anyways when you unplug and plug in again
would this full size case be compatible with the wooting 2he pcb?

It has not been reported as being compatible
No
but are there any compatible for a full size?
None that we know of
If you mean a select switch feature, then yes.
I am kinda conflicted should I get the polycarbonate plate I'm getting a lot of mixed information
I have a wooting 60he+ with the tofu60 redux with brass weight and jade switches
Also planning to gasket mount with bakeneko 60 30A and get wob crosshairs
Mixed information?
bakeneko huh?
60he+ comes with pc plate installed, wym?
Not if itâs a prebuilt
Prebuilt comes with steel plate
And plate Mount stabs
Only module comes with pc plate and screw ins
what are the benefits of gasket mount?
ive seen alot of talk about them here
and how can u do it with the wooting?
60 module specifically
60HE+ module *
New 461E case I think only way idk
ye mb
Pre-order only rn
Word
Even within the same form factor and layout, the internal makeup of a keyboard affects the overall experience. While there are several ways to alter and aim for that desired feel and sound, one of the primary factors that will help you estimate your eventual build is the keyboard mounting style.&
