It's not a matter of support, it's how much contact the mounting system has with the PCB directly. Every mounting point that touches the PCB changes the sound or creates dead spots of sound. Gasket mount prevents that and gives you an even sound

Yeah it’s recommended to get a small size o ring with screw in stabs, but some people have gotten them to work with medium size o ring , also depends on which case you’re using

Another option is to just swap out the backspace and spacebar stabs with clip in or plate mount and then you can still use medium size o ring

I'll try and knock out analog testing tomorrow, work has been crazy this week. But the issues fo beyond just the magnet overloading the switch or maxing out early. We also saw odd behavior such as the switch causing actuations without even touching it.
