it does?
Doesnât it?
I heard there were some issues with cracking PCB in the spacebar area
I have friction mount, so I wouldnât really know
I've only ever screwed in my sides and never had any issues, although it wasn't a burger mount
now i use friction mount tho
Not super common I would assume, unless you are the type of person to bang on your keyboard.
haha it's too expensive to be banging on
i wanna try some new switches but have no clue wich ones i should buy
All of them
Iâm using tx ap clip ins
And by stab stopper I assume you mean the little plastic shims?
Yup
That's what i was wondeirn
I have like 2-3 loose ones
But I use moleskin tape so I just cover them anyway and it holds them in place
Yep exactly
lol
GMK Olivia, Oblotzky and I think Novelkeys had a drop recently but itâs been sold out already , only things left are extras
Now that I think about it, those are the same ones loose on mine but I donât think theyâre actually loose in terms of a defect, I think theyâre loose because those clips are on the edge of the PCB and so they only go into those half circles instead of the full circle holes like the other stabs since they arenât on the edge of the PCB if that makes sense
So the half circle doesnât support the clip in as much
Therefore making the shims feels loose cause itâs not as tight
Yeah i had the same thought, was wondering if anyone else had the same issue
So at that point i was like eh why bother putting them even if its loose
Yeah basically
Hi i need a little help my usb wiggles on my wooting but the screws are down tight and when i took the pcb out i tried wiggling the actual port and it doesnt move
so my keyboard disconnects often does anybody else have this problem?
Tried a different cable?
yup tried 3 all the same
at least urs didnt come defectedđ
With custom case you might have to be extra careful to line up the usb port perfectly and make sure is pushed up against top of the case
Like with my freebird60 I had to move it around a couple times and change the foam amount to get it positioned just right so the usb would fit well
it is but this wasnât happening before just randomly started happening a couple days ago
PCB could have wiggled backwards a bit
I tried taking it out and repositioning it and it still happens idk
Does it happen if you plug in pcb without the case
Should check to see if so you can rule out if itâs the case or a pcb issue
I have to go to work in about 5 minutes so no time to check but I will when i get home thank you
Sometimes the height of the pcb is important too
So not just how itâs positioned but how much foam is under to prop it up against the hole well
Itâs one of the reasons I added a bit of extra foam to mine because it was sinking too much previously
oh ok
its really a problem for me now but it disconnects then when it reconnects some keys dont work unless i unplug and plug it back up
like mid game itll randomly disconnect
My freebird60 had a similar thing although it didnât disconnect mid game but it was clearly loose connection
I had to put more foam under to prop pcb up more and push pcb towards back a bit more before screwing it to get it positioned just right since the usb hole was a bit shallow
the reason some keys arent working are prob due to you pressing them during calibration
ty, how much did u pay for the ks-20u switches?
đ thereâs literally included case foam with the module đ¤Łđ¤Ł
đ
Thatâs old. In the latest firmware all travel distances are dynamic so Jades or any other switch with a shorter travel work just fine. @stray tiger should be updated in #đŞâmodding_faq too.
i have the latest
Moleskin or mole foam?
On paper they do not fit. For some theyâre functional without sanding the plate for some they arenât. If you donât want to sand the plate youâd be better off sticking with the stock stabilizers.
Moleskin because that's basically a padded tape
If Molefoam is similar but thicker that seems cool
If you want them ASAP then sure. If not just wait until theyâre more widely available. They should be on Ali soon.
already ordered
lel
i ordered 60pcs
i emailed support tho
thats not enough
The 35 dollar Jades from Ali didn't arrive in the usual container
Well, you paid Ali price, you get Ali packaging đ
Yup you can buy up to 110 units, so makes sense that they use that
Not like fancier packaging does anything outside extra waste
fake switches
@harsh dove or @median spade any of you tried adding some sort of case foam into the salvation case? I canât see a way it would be possible due to the leaf springs
Yeah I used the wooting case foam before
Just line up the two screw holes
Oh like just directly adding it over the leaf springs? Wouldnât this make it less bouncy since itâs blocking off the leaf springs?
Yo Iâm overwhelmed by moleskin options
Which one works best for back of PCB? @harsh dove
You said some model makes it easier
Little bit but still works
Interesting. Did it improve the sound or did you end up removing it? Iâm pretty satisfied with the sound so far but was just wondering in case I wanted some change
Ty bro
Np fam
Ended up removing it but itâs not bad
Try it out
Got it. Are you using any PCB foam?
Iâm still using the silicone that came with the module. I really like it so far
With the salvation, I wasnât, no
Ahh I see, well thatâs good to know. Not sure if you know who Brandon Taylor on YouTube is, but I believe he also doesnât use any foam, says the salvation already sounds good without it
I feel like it may make it quiet a bit louder
Without foam^
Why?lol
Yeah I like it without it, but Iâd use a layer of moleskin tape or regular tape mod to remove ping
gateron branding, put two of them to test and they work
also the closed bottom
idk how they can fake a magnetic with closed bottom and same name/colour
Gotcha. Alright good to know, thanks for the heads up đ
im joking
how many layers do u use of tape in redux?
Just 1 layer of moleskin tape
ah okay
which hall effect is best for thock/ deep thock? (close as you can get it to that sound profile) as im thinking of taking out my L45's and using different HE switches. i dont like the sound of the lekkers
to my ears ks-20u sounds deeper than jades so i decided to get the ks-20uâs but thats just me
dont take my word for it, prolly wait until cam is here
have there been any sound tests on them yet?
he could help you out maybe
yes cam has on his yt
i can send hold on
ouu okay ill check it out rn!
ah they dont have their youtube linked to profile so yes if you could send it that'd be great!
sent in dm
i dont think i have my dms open
damn
just cause of the off chance ppl who try to send malicious stuff, you cool if i add you?
yea man sure
i semt a friend req so i can get the link to the sound test
you shopuld be able to send the link now
for the limited testing i've done with jades, those are more clackier than lekkers
so KS-20U seems to be the most deep/thock
yeah i just heard the sound test for them, they sound phenominal lolol
Really?
honestly after hearing them, i have to agree
I have the stem swapped raptors
Iâm excited to put them in a modded module
Am still open to a final switch tho
Donât think Iâll get the jades
Hearing them where?
I havenât seen them much
the sound test starts at the 59 minute mark
The KS-20U's are deeper than the Jades because they don't have a bottom out sound and the Jades do (the whole point of the design)
Holy60 Keyboard kit Explore a new dimension in design and functionality with the keyboard case, Â we are excited to present the Holy60 case, featuring a lightweight design philosophy. The overall weight of the case is approximately 220g, crafted through CNC machining with each surface individually processed. This marks
here there is an old sound test
from before they sold them
only at mechakeys or taobao
ohhh i see, perfect thanks guys!
looks unique but sounded horrible
saw the video from alexotos?
ye
not surprised considering how hollow it is loll
with non HE switches they sound alright, super clacky
Yeah dual rails sound clean
I think the stem swapped raptors are a little more muted tho
those were stock
Yeah I know
yeah
Yeah
I'm going to try and stream tomorrow evening and I'll try and do a direct comparison to the ks-20u, jades and stem swapped raptor
whats your youtube?
Visit thethockfather.com and scroll to the bottom for links
you stream on twitch or yt?
Yeah I'll be dual streaming (which is what I'm testing tomorrow) https://www.twitch.tv/thethockfather
greatđ
I am foams number #1 hater
So I did not use any
So youâre not rocking any foams or silicone at this time for the salvation?
PCB foam maybe^?
Gotcha. Why in the Tofu? Just an extra case maybe
Felt like I was wasting board using 60he in it
Sounded too good with the Mx build I made in it
Even tho I got it for 60he lmao
Honestly I feel that, it does feel way too over the top for the wooting PCB đ it almost feels wrong
But I do like the case. Itâs perfect, Iâm really happy I went for it
The white especially is really nice. Itâs a super bright white
Weighed it in at 3.5lbs
I have some questions lol
Looking to get a module but get a wood case
Will a gh60 fit
https://wooting-technologies.notion.site/de7a52e2b5a941258a17e448b0c9d9b0?v=5ec0b31c59db4a51b8a86a1288249e9f might be worth viewing this case compatibility list
But any GH60 case should work with the wooting since itâs a standard tray mount
I was looking at this
I want to order this but paranoid of it not fitting
And thank you
Got a link to this? If itâs Amazon and you have a return period you should just buy it and try it. If it doesnât work you can return it as long as it mentions free returns
NPKC GH60 Solid Wooden Case Wrist Rest for 60% Mini Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Compatible Poker2 Pok3r Faceu 60 (Walnut) https://a.co/d/cm9Az8y
The mounting points all look accurate, GH60 layout. Chances of it fitting should be pretty high. You can also comment on the post to confirm with the community
Another way to check is to see if it fits a ducky one 2 mini they have the same tray mount design
Im in luck
Happy to help
Anything GH60 or DZ60 compatible should work
Another question
As far as plates go, does the same thing apply?
As long as its a gh60/dz plate
no, the wooting plate has very specific standoffs that are required to make the board work.
Our custom plates for the Wooting 60HE is perfect to improve the sound of the original keyboard. Easily switch out the plate to improve typing experience and sound of your Wooting 60HE. Metal plates will be 1.5mm thick (the same as the original plate) Plastic plates such as POM, PETG and Impact Modified Acrylic are 1.5
I was looking at this and it had said it requires a kbdfans standoff kit but im not sure how well it would work
should work fine, not sure on why you want a custom plate tho
Custom plate is good if you want a specific material for a particular sound profile.
And the standoff kit is $1.80 on AliExpress
wtf when did u order
i ordered on february 15 and still in shipping
exactly from same seller than you
bought them 12 Feb and used the free shipping
so 2 weeks, kinda fast for Ali
Pls notify

For those that tried the KS-20Us, was the factory lubing alright or did it require some hand lubing?
It's pretty good from the factory but if you want to be sure it's perfect, you'll have to hand lube.
I see I see, is it comparable to the jades in that sense?
most stock switches, including current HE options, are "lubed enough"
to the point where most would say it's not necessary to hand lube it
but it certainly is a difference.
Some fun new keys and a custom tape mod.
Interesting
these seem to be new patents on top of their closed bottom hall effect switch one
https://www.zfrontier.com/app/flow/qyWVN6OWqglR - original post from gateron's zfrontier account
trying to find any image to accompany the patent but navigating the chinese sites is a mess
I hate it when competition disrupts my ability to get a product only from one single vendor
the came, waiting for pbtfans WoB set and tofu 60
maxgaming will get them soon-ish apparently
Wrip
i just ordered them from mechkeys
but yeah
Not much i can do i think one of my 8 silver screws is too tight or the screw holes damaged
It just wont come undone
Is the most bottom silver screw just not ph1 or what?
This is actually so frustrating
just superglue ur screwdriver to the screw and leave it overnight and surely it will come out as you turn it
Might have to tbh
Alright the screw is fully fucked stripped now any tips besides superglue?
I wanted to ask if it is possible to set the keyboard profiles per game, or is it one profile for all games etc.?
i mean could also be like a month until they get them
yeah, the delivery time from mechkeys is 1-3 weeks
its all good anyways
not happy with alumaze?
not my cup of tea
i bought a wooting 60he+ module and i wonder what are the best stabs to use with that and what type of (plate, pcb, screw in)
Comes with high quality screw in stabs
Yeah the stock stabs are good, only need slight lube/grease job
Otherwise you could go for TX stabs
Stock lekker 45 lube
Very subtle, cylinder mid dry, also springs dry
Guess the hand lubbed one?
still a wait but finally some news
I guess this is international release since itâs been out in china for awhile already
yeah should be for the gateron.com release
i get them by the time of releaseđŤ
1-3 weeks from now
Now I see finally the visuals of the dual rail lol
Wonder if anyone knows the measurements of the standoffs for the alumaze
Anyone know what these extra switches are that came along with my jade order
These are just extras, and they wonât work with HE board. A lot of keyboard vendors add them for you to try
probably just some sample switches. they arent hall effect so its best to put them somewhere and forget about them.
Unless you are actually asking about the name per switch, then I have no idea lol
on the pcb
yeah im looking at the pcb but i dont see a S/N
ok
yep
on the bottom of your case
do i need 12 or 16mm ap tx stabs for it to fit the wooting module ootb?
1.6mm
Stock stabs are good tho
no mods needed right?
i know
just incase i wanted to change them
Well they might not fit properly for you , Iâve had no issues (cause Iâm awesome) but other people have had issues
And Iâve tested 3-4 different tx ap stabs with no issues
well how do i become awsome
im already subbed to ur yt what else can i do
Just donât have a skill issue when installing them
put a lil tutorial on yt for me if i decide to get them đ
nah but forreal which ones do u recomennd?
yes
its free views
since wooting is poppin
I think the stock stabs are great but Iâm enjoying my TX AP Clip Ins
1.6mm TKL Base Kit
actually do it, not many people are doing in depth tutorials for wooting mods like âhow tosâ so as a beginner modder its hard/scary to do any other mods like different stabs, and things like that, so tutorials would be hella nice ngl
I'll be starting this up soon and creating a poll to collect data on which mods we should start with first
are you going live today to try the jades/raptors and ks-20u?
Thats the plan. Its really to test multi-streaming but I'll do that comparison while we are at it
ohh actually perfect whereâs the poll going up?
It'll be this evening but Ill send out a notification
awsome, damn u are US im guessing?
youtube iâm assuming yes?
It will go up in here since it's a modding channel specific request
Yes MST
ohhh wait like in the discord
perfect
what time do you plan on starting im EU its already 6:30pm here
or can you leave vod open so i can watch tomorrow?
Itll be recorded in youtube so you can watch when you wake up
awsome
what plate should i use?
The one you like best (or the one you have)
Do you want screw in or clip ins
i mean, is the difference huge?
the easiest one to install
Just the way theyâre installed
Theyâre both pretty easy
Clip ins might hurt your fingers lol
Yeah unless you plan to friction mount then clips ins are better, can still friction mount with screw ins but can come with more compatibility issues
way too much for me haha đ
ill do screw ins if i decide to get them
i just finish
what keycap set is this
aifei wob?
or just any WOB with a rama esc
Is the HE performance of the jade switches as good as the stock Wooting switches? (raw performance, not typing feel)
Unknown but should be similar.
3D Printed Skull Headphone Holder my buddy made
Thats awesome man. Looks just like you except the hair
so no issues were reported yet, right?
Literally
Basically the same aside from the travel distance
Alright, thank you
It's got the headphone hair, nice
any hot new switches?
that made by a 3d resin printer?
haha nice reference to a headphone dent đ
what is better wooting 60he+ module stabs or durock v2 stabs
Module stabs imo
should i bag lube my springs?
I would
Now I need help w all this stuff that comes w Module and Alumaze
What do I do with all these orings
Itâs okay to use on the stabilizer stem and housing, but itâs not really ideal to use on the wires because of how thin it is compared to grease
Usually just end up with lube all over your PCB once it settles
ok so im not gonna lube my wires
grease em đ
Yeah Iâd highly recommend buying a syringe of Dielectic grease and call it a day
Easiest way to lube em
Yeah and usually inconsistent
yep on mine couple of them were very poorly greased on one sidce
Yeah the most common issue is one side is lubed and the other side either isnât lubed at all or very small amount
also I think lubing the stem and housings was very beneficial to eliminate all the rattles and made it sound a lot better
What are these orings that I get with module/alumaze?
They provide a bit of cushion for the PCB on the standoffs
You place them on top of the standoffs
Or on the bottom of your PCB where the screw holes are
Yeah one is foam and one is silicone
oh?
ok maybe can make a sound diff
Black is silicone
but would be very small
Yeah would make a very small difference
ah then its same if its black sili
So really doesnât matter which ones you use
though one word of advice
be careful when screwing tight on the screws
when using them
it can be overdone
ik dw
Is it for sale on aliexpress?
and eat into the pcb
Yeah theyâll get destroyed if overtightened
I used my own orings before
ye but
I chipped a bit ofd the color
on the pcb mount points
when trying to tight level my spacebar
so yeah
I usually tighten until I hit the first wall of resistance or soft wall
Same
same, but I wanted to get the spacebar level đ So I was going a bit more on one side
Fair
some PCB's i guess are bit uneven
and then the optional screw standoff on the bottom right of spacebar can cause issues
ok im gonna buy one tomorrow
Yeah I tend to only use the top 4 or top 2 screws in my builds
I skipped now the bottom space one, and added the middle one, found that one kindof levels the pcb a bit
Plastic ziploc bag
Few drops of gpl 105 or SuperLube oil and shake em up
Nice
U get one witth wooting
so dielectric grease in the bag?
its the same brand?
You need a thin lube /oil for bag lubing springs
GPL 105 and SuperLube Oil are the only things I really know of for springs
how was the lube on the ks-20uâs?
Slightly overlubed
ah
i mean is that a good or bad thing
CAM how do they compare to the Lekker45? Are they any better typing wise?
he dont know
he doesnt have lekkers
oh ok
Always wondered how you can lubricate your lekker switches or grease your stabilizer wire. In this video, we will deep dive on different methods of lubing and some general tips and tricks. Using the Wooting 60HE.
Krytox GPL 205G0 and Molykote EM-50L lubricant:
https://region.wooting.store/products/lubrication-set-krytox-205g0-molykote-em-50l
:...
there u go man
it shows stabs aswell
are they use bag lubing method for springs?
idk watch the vidđ
i mean it was answered here already
bag lubing makes the most sense for springs, thats what i did with my jades, turned out great
saves you a bunch of time too
ik
you need a thin oil for lubing springs, imagine throwing springs into a bag of vaseline, that ain't gonna work with 205 or dielectric grease
i have never build a keyboard
only wooting
and i managed to break one LED
but i will get a replacement once Toni answers my email
so im stoaked for that, at least i know what im doing this time xd
are the springs pre lubed (l45 switches)?
Technically a good thing because factory lube is usually under done
was it good lubed on both the sides?
I like them more, yeah
or was it only one side
I have all the switches actually
is the typing experience decent? because the lekker 45 feels quite bad for typing tbh
oh damn
its good for gaming though
yea but cam prefers jades right?
well jades for typing are probably the best
but I don't know how good they are for gaming
u said something that the ks-20u sounds like the jades somehow
or something
i cant recall correctly
I don't think it does
Theyâre fine for gaming but yeah maybe go with KS20u if the 3.5mm bothers you for gaming
ye ordered the ks20u
They did to me at first on my live stream but after using them more, theyâre more like lekkers
its pretty much like the lekkers
yeah
just more lubed and less wobble with a deeper sound
correct?
will see how they lubed them once they arrive
from the comparisons i've heard KS-20U sounded a bit lower pitch than jades, is that accurate or nah?
Yes
yes
Jades are more clack
which I prefer đ
ks are more thock
gotcha
u should get jades then tbh
ah okay
yeah i ended up getting both as well lol
i dont enjoy clack đŚ otherwise id get them too
yeah I want to experiment haha
thats why I am doing a second build also
to play around
though the mechkeys order hasn't shipped for a while grumble grumble (ik getting back from CNY adds lead time)
Welcome to my world
I test almost everything
shit :\ I am in the same boat, hopefully it will ship fast
which postage service have you used?
Believe mine took about two weeks
yea it takes 1-3 weeks for them to arrive
states on checkout
i think priority = default?
then youâll get them 3-7days
1-3 weeks
xD
i probably didn't help by asking customer service about the Kailh / Lofree collab switch compatibility, they asked if i wanted to add them to the order before shipping lol
Yeah I usually do too, still took about two weeks
đ
dang don't scare me đ
Think it was maybe 9 days Iâd have to check again
you just never know with shipping bruh
I took DHL Express from Sweden to Slovenia where I am at
today it was sent in sweden
post-2020 logistics be like đ˛
Nice
Yeah I usually have good experience with DHL, some iffy times but usually good
i live on the edge of a DHL service area so it's all been bad for me đŚ
is lubing hard?
once again, watch the vid i linked
yea but just asking for other peoples opinions
It's not hard just time consuming
someone that has lubed before is gonna say its well easy, and a person that has never lubed might say something different
Fairly easy just time consuming and tedious
put on some podcast and set aside a couple hours
yeah my local postage takes like 2 days most of the time, between cities of like 10-20km
I lubed a keyboard for my first time with my 60he, was very easy but took me like 6 hours lol
now I can't comprehend how its going to come from sweden so fast đ
we move fast here
Yeah same just about, sometimes DHL will upcharge me for where I live though because they consider me a remote location, so theyâll charge an extra $30 sometimes , itâs very random when they choose too
Sometimes they donât sometimes they do
its the DHL express thing for sure, I had same thing from Netherlands for another thing, it just came the next day, I was like so baffled.
oh yeah, I am kindof afraid that might happen for my ks20-u order from China
don't know what to expect in terms of tax\remote
@river socket also if it's your first time make sure to test your first few switches to check for feel, before you go whole hog. easy to fall into overlubing mindset at first because you need less than you think
thx for the info
if your doing the lekkers, don't be afraid, they are quite underlubed and doing a tiny bit too much won't be so bad
just take small pick with the brush, and do the stems,.. optionally cylinders in mid and housings a tiny bitr, then the tip of the springs
and your done
tries to forget my first pasta-sounding lube jobs
I need to make some cool looking color profiles for my wooting
what size stabs does the two HE need? i'm really just looking to swap out the spacebar and i'm looking at these https://a.co/d/9qWLUY1
DUROCK Plate Mount Stabilizer V3 Highlights Innovative Design 1: Elastic Support Base Inside Stem / Slider Innovative Design 2: Smaller Wire Gap Innovative Design 3: Angled Snap / buckle of Housings Advantage: Minimize Wire Wobble and Noise Compatibility: Min to 1.2mm Plates Style: Cherry MX Plat...
spacebar is 6.25u
Its okay
well i ordered them, hopefully this fixes the problem
does it make it sound less hollow?
why do you want to swap the spacebar stab?
nice
Get some museum putty
Itâs like $4 where Iâm at
And stuff it in your spacebar
Thatâs how I got my spacebar to sound like this
it started rattling/ticking in certain spots, i rebalanced and relubed the wire but it still does it
odd
yeah it didn't do it for the first few days, it just started happening
Is this ok? I have to push it down little to plug it in.
this?
Yeah that should work tbh
is the PCB screwed in yet? it should align once fully seated
Got it
Itâs fine but if it bothers you try removing case foam
Are you doing gummy o ring mount or screwing it in?
If screwing it in then like xomm said, should align once tightened
Screwing it in
nice
need to remove the plastic washer from the left side accent
that's where the screw between caps/shift goes
only need 1
Iâll do that and get back with u both
you need to install one of those golden screws in the hole in the case by the spacebar
left bag is standoffs for middle, depending on if you want stiffer middle
right bag is for the fabric strap
bottom is foam for the mount points
optional/preference
(although yeah, the spacebar standoff is recommended)
Yeah Spacebar standoff is still optional/personal preference
I prefer not to use it but most do
iirc some people had their PC plates crack without it?
60he just straight up doesnât use the middle screw location
Not that Iâve seen or heard and even so, would require an unnecessary amount of force
More force than you should be applying to any keyboard thatâs forsure
This next?
Yessir
Or
You can put those foam or silicone rings on the standoffs
For extra cushion for the PCB
What benefits would that provide?
Can alter the sound profile a bit to reduce dead spots near the screws
So less annoying?
So put these in the little holes?
Yep on top of the standoffs
All of them no matter if theyâre pushed up or down?
can just push the case foam down to seat it
I guess I can use one for the middle
i think he use both foams
o
screw the standoff thats in the little bag that came with the case in the middle one and then put the oring on it
I used just one
nvm looks good
(also don't use excessive force on the standoffs - have seen some people here shear them by hand somehow lol)
mods list?
Done â
install the standoff om the middle ome
and the one thats where the spacebar is
before u put the oring on them
I thought I did
Hold on
Now do I put this on?
im close to your sounding on my redux thats why i ask, just waiting on my jades to be delivered
i guess gummy mount, hand lubed jades, stock foam from wooting? pc plate and no plate foam?
When do I add these three?
they're options, rather than putting them all in
two different plates and plate foams
Oh which is best feeling do you think and less annoying?
it's pretty preference based, there's some brief descriptions in the quickstart: https://wooting.io/wooting-60he-module-quickstart#pulling-keycaps
Guys will adding switch pads alter performance of my wooting 60 he?
Read somewhere someone saying that it might on yt
Forgot where tho
Also do u guys think adding switch pads makes a noticeable difference? From anyone who has done it?
Is there any new switches better than jades?
The black one
How do you do that?
???
Are you supposed to screw it in or something?
we believe in you
Hand tighten it slowly
Thank you. Iâm just trying to not break anything
What are these used for?
Do I still need this as it makes the pc plate unleveled?
Sorry for all the questions
I also forgot this thing
Tofu x Jades , CF Plate x Gummy Mount x Tofu case foam x plate foam & switch foam that comes with CF Plate x TX AP Clip Ins , I think thatâs it
So I donât need that stuff is what youâre saying.
@cyan adder
tyvm
hand lubed jades?
what part did u lube
saw this tweet in the 60HE chat
top housing, srpings and bottom?
arent these just the ks-20u's?
Y is is sooo hard to put in switches?
Every part
yo cam
https://x.com/GATERONOfficial/status/1762063492478312786?s=20 these are the ks-20u's right? (im assuming yes cuz they look the same)
Yes
Wooting things
They're harder to put compared to mech imo
wait so then how are they being sold by mech keys? thats the only bit that really confuses me a bit
Mechkeys import em from china
It has been selling in china for about 2-3 months
This is global launch
Yup
thanks a lot for the info
sorry im still all new to the way keyboard modding and the way stuff works
i see
imma do some digging just in case cuz im unsure, i might wait for gateron to globally release em in the case that they have warehouses in the US
after a bit of research, i dont think they do so it wouldnt be any different from wait times from mech keys or taobao
Yeah I wouldnât worry too much about that
Retailers would probably have em instock
But still ordering from mechkeys prob will take same amount of timr
Cost of shipping probably only real factor depending on vendor
thats also true
hmm, im thinking waiting for gateron would be more ideal as the vendors probably mark up price a bit so id be better off waiting to get a better deal on them
probably save 20ish cents a switch if you wait for official store to post, so if you're not in a hurry probably worth
HAHHAA
that 20 cents a switch goes a long way. i mean in this economy (US economy) especially with having hobbies, bills etc its nice to be able to save some money as im sure anyone would like to save because hey, who doesnt yaknow?
Bro I swear the colors on the keycaps were more saturated in the pictures
Time for new keycaps â ď¸
On the bright I really the mocha anodized tofu redux
oh ye, saying it's worth the wait if not urgent. $1 a switch from mechkeys is hefty
ofc! i was agreeing with ya, sorry if that came off condecending or rude in any way. but yeah i think im gonna wait as im not in a hurry really
If anyone got any keycap recommendations if you can see what I was trying to go for then Iâm all ears preferably pbt
Honestly itâs kinda growing on me in different lighting lol
I like it
Never trust pictures/renders
because you dont have a plate pad
What do I do then?
Look for reviews/people who already own them
And see their pictures
I.E.
More bluish grey in person
Is there any new switches better than jades?
Wondering if plate mount stabs work with oring? my current tx ap clip in stabs are extremely tight with the pc plate and kbd fans aftermarket plates creating very mushy/non returning stabs. Issue dissapears with screw ins, but ideally id like to oring mount the board
graveshift's new small o-ring works with screw in stabs
^^
thats great to hear, is there a duro range i need to be within?
I use 40a on my boards
im a big fan of 60-70, that sucks but expected
hasnt graveshift always had s size orings or is it a new sub product?
they were different iirc
you can still use those, but the harder the o-ring is the harder to remove the board
sweet, thanks guys
also any links to small orings for stabs? gunna pull the trigger on some jades and dont want to buy longpole stabs
guys what exactly do o rings do to the sound of the keyboard?
its a popular mod but ive alwayhs wondered
Like what does gummy o ring actually do
removes a lot of ping and overall deepens the sound
Provides a different sound profile, more consistent sound, remove metal case ping, and removes dead spots near screws (because it doesnât require screws)
Also a different typing feel
Gives a tiny bit of bounce/flex compared to the stiffness of being screwed in
best typing feel comes from oring mount IMO
Oh shit didnt know that u didnt need to screw it in
sound is mostly switch and plate
the reason why i havent purchased. gummy o ring for my wooting kb is because the only compatible ones ive heard of so far are located very far away from me and im paying like 60 bucks or over for a gummy o ring
Im not exactly sure how to tell if one is fully compatible or not
Jade magnetic
What plate do we use?
stock wooting come with steell plate
u can swap to pc plate and other plates but thats preference
Prebuilt* Wooting60HE comes with Steel Plate
Wooting 60HE+ Module comes with PC Plate included
Jades have a clacky sound inherently
Plates are personal preference but my favorites are PC, POM, and Alu
Iâm currently using a carbon fiber plate with my Jades though
What about fr4 plate?
Gross, worst plate material
(Slightly joking)
But from mine and shared experiences among others , most donât like FR4
Iâm currently using a PC switch plate
Yeah those are great
Sup CAM
Thank you for all your help today everyone!!!
Sup son
Wasssssuppppp
Any news? although there isnt much to ask
You still using the tofu?
Did father stream today?
On the tofu 60 redux case on the usb port we want the slider to be on âwâ right?
I dont see anything on his schedule @mental salmon
Yeah W for Wooting im pretty sure
D is for DZ60
Thanks, he mentioned something earlier today, but did not see any announcement
Just waiting on custom plates and new cable
Keeping an eye on new products
and yes still using Tofu
actually a nice case
Definitely sharp edges tho
I like the sound I've created with it so far
Will experiment more with it tho
noice noice
what plate?
Carbon
oh i thought u had one
Oh I asked what plates are you waiting on
Black POM, Alu and Black FR4 (the worst)
Yeah excited for that one
facts
from smkeyboard?
that sounds new
Yeah I think they specialize in plastic plates iirc
Whereass SMKeyboards does the CNC
I swore Hype did CNC too tho
kk
Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene
Ah ok
I ordered a plate last week for my Sirius60 HE and it already shipped. Says itll be here on the 29th
Going live to do some switch testing, join me if you want - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr1Ip9AxSTI or https://www.twitch.tv/thethockfather
Testing the Lekker vs the Raptor vs the Jade vs the Peaches
PP best
Ah dang sorry pops, couldnt make it to the stream
had to study for a state test, anyways gonna watch the yt live in a bit :D
When its done processiing Ill clip it to just the sound test
Ah thanks
hello
does anyone know if the tofu 60 redux plate work with the wooting
particularly screw in stabs
instead of plate mounted stab

Yes they work, little tight but stabs work with no issues
I'm using the carbon fiber plate with TX AP Clip Ins but I also tested screw ins
fuck yea
does it matter if its plate a or plate b?
Those are not compatible, my bad
You have to get their wooting plates
Estimated shipping date: Around November 10th Buy 1 plate will get 1 switch pad for free. Is Sirius 60 HE a board or like youâre putting wooting in it?
looking for a brass plate
Check HypeKeyboards or SMKeyboards
He's putting the wooting in it
Ty
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59byy865KnM - 5 switch sound test (KS-20U Peaches, KS-20T Jades, KS-20 Lekkers, Raptors and Raptors with Lekker stems) on a 60HE (steel plate) in an aluminum case.
Testing the Lekker vs the Raptor vs the Jade vs the Peaches
its on private
Try now
yep it works!
Pretty good sound test comparison tbh
Was there any mods on this board? If not then its really good as we could hear the "pure sound" of the switch then
The only mod was friction mount. Its steel plate original 60HE
Well big W on the soundtests then đ would recommend sharing this to someone who wants to know the comparison between the four/five switches
I havent listened to it yet to see how the sound is on the 2 different mics but it was a quick multistream test first and foremost so hopefully it helps
its pinned then
hi im thinking abt getting fr4 plate from kbdfans is it good
Users have reported that they had problems with the FR4 plate relating to their stabs
I don't know much about their sound as I don't pay attention to it but yeah ^^^
is it with plate mounted stabs or the screw ins
I haven't tried their FR4 plate but like Thockson said, some people have reported issues.
I have their Carbon Fiber plate and am using TX AP Clips Ins with no issues.
welp. I got my 90a o-rings finally
and they actually fit the keyboard
anyone want to guess what the problem is?
I bought 1.5mm to reduce travel distance on keypress
from 3.5mm to 2.0
I have a few (possibly very noob) questions. Do Gateron Magnetic Jade work with the rapid trigger features or does it have different accuation points? Also, is the Module included in the 60he+ the same as what you buy standalone or are there any notable features? I ordered one prebuilt to try stock but I do plan on basically swapping the switches, case and keycaps to learn more about keyboards.
Yes the switches work with rapid trigger but bottom out at 3.5mm instead of the standard 4mm
The module is the same as the wooting 60he+ but it just comes with screw ins and an extra silicone dampener
Does that mean the press doesn't go as deep?
as in travelling less if fully pressed
Yes thatâs right
Actually that might be preferrable, so that's good to know!
Does it still register presses at 0.1?
Thanks for the info! đ
No, 0.2mm is standard error of total travel distance. It is not about actuation range
They feel more or less as sensitive as Lekkers with 0.1 mm RT
The main difference is the 3.5 travel distance instead of 4.0 mm
For me it's noticeable
Also, almost no wooble on the switch, so that's good too
what tape do i get for the tape mod for the 60he+?
guys what way is the case foam meant to be placed
i placed it on the smooth side facing up and it made the keyboard sound and feel less nicer compared to the rough side up
or maybe im tripping
painters tape
in a good way?
Like everything, it's preference, you bottom out the switch faster, but also feels like it looses range of motion
I just need to get used to it
And it'll normal
Yeah afaik the actuation is controlled by the PCB itself and not the switch?
is there anyway that you can get the springs not attached to eachother
cuz some of the springs are attached to eachother
Yes. Switch just contains magnet
well sort of both
a different magnet strength can result in the software actuation not matching the real actuation
this has to do with how the magnet strength gets converted into the press depth
It depends on PCB software and hardware
they cant change the magnet strength
They can calibrate
no
theres a limit
magnetic jades for example easily max out the sensors we use
that is way before fully pressed
there is also the reverse case of too little magnetic flux being detected by the he sensor
As I said It depends on PCB hardware and software đ
no its a combination of software and he sensor+magnet
ah I see, for example here is the data for the new KS-20U
guessing the magnetic flux info
yes
around those values you just posted
ok sounds good
there is a give we can calibrate before it fully saturates the sensor or cant be read well
nice good info
HE sensor is not hardware?đ¤
it is but the sensor itself cant do anything. sensor and switch magnet are tightly coupled as a system
both together are the switch
No one HE sensor can work with different magnets?
