Damn that link lol
But anyways, these seem cool
Arenāt you going too far in the inside of the housing ??
I thought it might be cut shorter
Its fine
Thank you so much ! What tape you using ?
Nexcare gentle paper tape
You can do this mod 1, 2, or 3 layers with this tape
Thatās funny lol, I was planning to use moleskin or keebtape
That would be too tideous for 3 layers lol
Recommended is 2 layers xd
Well my keeptape is on Paris airport, Iāll give you a sound test asap as I receive it !
Does it feel smooth? Or same but just not chattery?
3 is if u want even less upstroke sound
Most likely moleskin for that deeper thocc tho
Same but not chattery
Just make sure the tape is FLAT
Perfect! Thank you
Sweet, would be great, thanks
Or else there will be a bumpy feeling
Wym
Kinda like a tactile
Np
I will try to make a better recording in the future
The quality is trash
Goofy iphone X camera
Lol id apreciate it
bro what if i make my wooting like a clack build
like alexotos
lol
My alumaze is coming tomorrow
wwwww
what color did you order
Concrete
good pick
Thanks for the video @quiet bay
Yeah np but its trash quality so gl lol
think of it this way YOU got the first video of doing it š
the video gets the job done. Just couldnt quite see where the tape end on the inside of switch
idk if i put too much polyfill
haha sticky keys XD
lmaooo sticky keys
lol
the bottom row sounds so different
peep
like the alt and fn keys
back then in minecraft when you spammed shift
haha
no roblox
yeah.
it suppose to
its normal
those keys are on the outside so they sound different than alphas
Ok : 14 switches in 40 min
Ah okay good to know
ima take out the module
the key next to the right alt sounded like it has too many switch tape layers
gonna think about that to do
no no
actually yesterday when i pressed it
im gathering as much info as i can while i wait for the module
it sounded like pure spring
something was wrong with it
i dont know what or how but that shit was pure spring
thats why i was pointing at it
did u lube your springs with gpl105 or krytox?
krytox
6 times
and 2 times with another lube
build still in a work of progress
but its what i can do for now
do you have 105?
nope
wip!? what else will be planning to do to it?
buying new keycaps
but like mods
i have no clue
hmm, I had springs with krytox aswell and when I relubed them with 105 2 days ago it even improved the sound more than it was already
but not sure if that would help in your case
105 is thinner than 205
but i relubed these switches over months
What kind of keycaps are you looking at getting?
cus idk some mods over time like make it sound like pure stock
oo
lemme find it
these
very cheap but also extremely good from looking at the specs
oh nice, fully blank keycaps
PBT
1.7mm
Yeah good price
Very nice.
honestly
Unfortunate for me when this chat is booming with convos im fast asleep. Chat always popping from like 1 am to 5 am
what time is it for you rn
I just found out that omnipoints from steelseries are compatible with the 60he
they're not?
proof?
sure 1 sec
springs even have same dimensions
so you can springswap
cuz they are lighter aswell, 45cn
I want to springswap them but damn I need to desolder 70 switches
0.0
I think you can legit swap all pieces
bottom housing and so on I will try rn
NAH
steelseries top housing is thight as fuck on wooting bottom housing
it has 0 wobble like 0000
since steelseries added their rapid trigger feature, i was thinking like technically its the same thing, so they MAY work? and yes they do
wait so u just took the steelseries top and put it on the wooting bottom?
the stem too?
yes everything
lol
Sus
i mean the steelseries is cheap isnt it so ig frankensteining this isnt a bad idea
especially if it reduces wobble
did u lube that bitch up?
Personally I wouldnāt wanna do that
Especially since theyāre soldered
Fuck that
I had the L60 fully lubed, just popped it up and replaced top housing thats it
just remove them with force
whats the sound and feel diff
bottom out def sounds bit different
feel nothing changed so far
its legit like a stone
I cant wiggle the top housing
Depends on which one you get but iirc their apex pro series boards are almost $200
The ones that have Omni point switches
$200 is nothing rlly for me
I am honestly thinking to swap spring and top housing
Right
I mean, you def feel the lighter springs
i'll see how it sounds in the alumaze with the new foam and stuff
Yeah the springs seems viable if you donāt wanna buy L45s
if i dont like it, i'll just order holy pandas and a mode envoy and build a new custom
Just swap out the stock 60s for the 45s
for my day to day non gaming keyboard
im used to 70-80s for springs
60 is pretty light for me
i wouldnt mind smth like a Lekker 70 coming out
And I wouldnāt spend $200 just to Frankenstein some top housings and springs from another board lol
If you already own it thatās different but solely spending $200 just to rip parts out then idk about that lol
oh i did worse dw
Iāve done worse with my own PC but not keyboards yet lol
buy me another wooting š¤£
what will u do for me
nothing
then u aint gettin shit
it was a joke š
omnipoints are made by gateron aswell, that might be why they fit
they fight huh
SHHH
lmao
if switches fight the holy pandas would win

No case foam
man this shit stiff as hell
its bit hollow but i dont think my phone got that
it now sounds more metallic
Would wooting ever release a tactile version of the lekkar switch? Perhaps having some sort of vibration feedback or something?
just get a vibrator man
I feel like making it tactile would defeat the purpose of being a gaming keyboard
and kinda make hall effect more uhm
irrelevant but still works
Well I got interrupted by kids rip but Iāve did 30 switches tape mod. Half way
Sorry for phone (iPhone XS) mic
I hear kinda mushyness but im not sure if thats lube
why does every single switch sound different lol
Idk I think itās the microphone xD
thats a huge difference for the mic to make
did u lube your springs?
Yeah bag lubed with Krytox 105g0 oil
tray mount is shit but its not that bad that it makes literally every switch different
thats even worse then
Well I figured out why it was so diff
how many layers?
also u can hear the stem brush on the tape on a couple of these
Keyboard sides are not on the deskmat xD
yeah that aswell
do it again
Well Iāll try with Pc mic now

I have no idea why but I did it anyways
seems like i need to relube things
maybe tape absorbed some lube that were on the stem
All these mods and you couldāve bought a better mic by now
buy an iphone 15 pro
who do you think I am
Yeah so your hand can catch on fire
I can buy a 4k webcam at the price of 300-400 š
just buy a camera like what
Itās the pro version in general, they have the A17 chip
And their new update didnāt fix it either
when we talk about heat and you got an amd cpu in your pfp
Might as well go back to the old build
I mean 14 gen is fully flopped
Ideally the 14 Pro is the way to go
Yeah itās pretty lame
I will sell my 12600k to a friend who needs it and may buy an 7800x3d
I have an i7-12700K in my closet
just okay right?
Wym
you are not using it right
Nah
what are you using rn
7800X3D

meanwhile im running on a i5 12400
Only for gaming tho, otherwise Iād go 7950X or 13900KS
good enough!
12400 is solid donāt trip
I love amd cpus but I will never get an amd gpu again
yes good enough
Same
I had 24/7 problems with that dogshit
My homie has one, itās a good chip
More powerful than people give it credit for tbh , same with the 12600k
does anyone have a video they recommend on how to do a gummy oring mount on the 60HE?
will last me for good years

@cunning nimbus
Yeah definitely
how
i never had an issue with 6650xt besides it bottlenecking my 13600k
but thats my own fault
Only AMD GPU Iāll own is a console lol
I have a 6700xt with the i5 12400 lol
crazy coil whine, drivers are bad, heat problems (halfly fixed with repasting), big problems with my power management on that card. faulty transistors or so no clue
Yeah tbh itās kinda hit or miss with AMD GPUs I feel like
kept blacking out my screen
What the name implies, put your ear up to your GPU and listen for a tinny , metal whining noise
Coil whine can be caused by video cards, motherboards, power supplies, or even slight incompatibilities between these items :(
1:45
when power runs through coils, they whine, sometimes louder sometimes quieter
you have it 101%
but you dont hear it
every electronics have that
Yeah some are worse than others
Literally varies from model to model
Nvidia has it too
i never heard it its rlly quiet then
Yeah thatās good
coil whine is not bad
lucky me
just annoying
Not bad especially if you wear headphones
I use a 3070 undervolted rn for 1,5y and 0 problems
I started having problems with amd after 3 months
couldnt RMA cuz of covid
Thatās also in my closet lol
EVGA 3070 FTW3
oh my evga
RIP EVGA
all these good parts in your closet š

Such a shame
yoo cat be chillin
me when my little 6650xt is bottlenecking my 13600kf
underclock your 13600k
or overclock your 6650xt
dont use these big word round here
there is no minimum
like you can use a 980 ti with a 14900k
but it just makes no sense
Donāt get hooked on bottlenecks tbh, itās a rabbit hole, just make sure you understand what bottlenecking really is
yes but for 0 bottleneck
TLDR thereās always a bottleneck in your PC somehwere
Even with all the best hardware
well the 6650xt definitely isnt strong enough thoughh
thats the issue
but atm i wont complain cuz i get like crazy fps regardless
depends what you play
if u play 1080p your config doesnt need a better gpu
certain?
my friend has the same cpu as me but a better gpu and gets 30% more fps
1080p
Also depends on the game, some games are more cpu heavy or more GPU
If you have the money to get a new GPU, just do it but otherwise youāre probably fine
optimized OS, faster ram stuff like this can also affect performance
I wouldnāt buy anything unless itās giving you like a 30% improvement or more
wtf are yall talking about lol
this channel should be keyboard modding
compuger stuff
GPU/CPU combos
oh lawd
lel
just lubed my 3070
Nice
š
With 205?
lmaaoo
š„ š„ š„
I just dipped it in 105
did it sound better
Ima use dielectric grease on my 7800X3D instead of thermal paste
imagine
i want the finalmouse ultra light x
I THINK you can actually put dielectric grease on electronics
The new one?
yes
meh
I thought about getting that but I just got a GPX2
Yeah
yeah it is very wow
i have a dav3p rn
Still might get it tbh
but im more worried about qc lel
lets switch channel
Yeah cause they use a carbon composite for the new one
Yeah itās clean
Guess its time to lube some switches
And flip my switches to south facing
Just got my new custom 12VHPWR in the mail
just make sure to plug it in all the way, thats the reason these catch fire because they arent plugged in all the way
I have 19 switches left
I prefer to go sleep
go sleep
14 switches / 30 min now
Without losing quality
It seems like it takes a little time to make the switch tape break in
Sounds better than 1 hour ago xD
we need v2 lekkers
Oh I know trust me lol, I have a drawer full of cables
Mine never melted like most peoples tho
Just black screens
black screens?
i ran the same cable on a 3090ti and 4090 for over a 18 months now and it's been fine
no such issues
Yeah I got black screens with my 12vhpwr
i never did
Happens to a lot of if you look it up
thats not normal
im using the cable that comes with the Seasonic TX-1600
It was only with my cablemod cables
When I used the ATX 3.0 12vhpwr from Corsair , I never had any issues
Cause cablemod made a new revision of these
V1.1
And I got it for free since I bought their older products
I have $120 on store credit
From the early adopter program
So gonna try this new cable and see how it goes
But from other people who have gotten the v1.1, nobodyās reported any issues
And it was mainly adapters melting, not cables
And even then I have 3 of their adapters and none of them melted but I stopped using them
And lastly, CableMod has some of the best customer service Iāve ever seen or experienced so thatās why I continue to fuck with them
@fluid ravine does your QWE keys sounds differents than others one?
this guy is me
i still dont understand how u can use 4k and 1440p without OCD triggering urself but i will try it with the woled 240hz panel
Lmfao
also u sit far away from those things, u must have good vision
i cant read text past 50cm
i sit 30cm away from these things so 4K is insane diff for me
Yeah I feel that, Iāve researched (and own) a ton of monitors , for me with 4K, itās just sharper edges mainly
i owned basically every form factor possible myself
And also depends on the size of the screen
what i like the best is 21:9 34 but 16:9 27-28 comes 2nd
did u ever put all ur screens together?
Not with the UW yet but hold on..
i did once
this was the end result
doubled stacked 32:9s, portrait 16:9, portrait 21:9
avoid samsung at all costs for 32:9
Thatās dope af tho
$1700 monitors both broke after 6 months
Crazy
i saw a lot of issues with the OLED G8 im surprised u have none
None yet lol
If I do Iāll just get a DWF or that new ASUS one
new asus one?
i had the DW which i loved but with my usage it got burnt in because of the aspect ratio
i watch a lot of full screen videos so a 16:9 video will make the pixels wear out unevenly on a 21:9 OLED
but for gaming it was insane
even vs my LG C2
oh this
I think it was this one
Compared to QD yea
Yeah I mainly just want QD and 1000R
oh yeah
im still debating on the 27GR95QE vs the PG27AQDM
Asus has better brightness, LG has better software and the price diff is pretty big
But yeah QDOLED and 1800R is what I would want if mine goes out
I feel like I almost bought a PG27AQDM at one point
Lemme look
Ah yeah
the issue i have with Asus is that LG Dell and partially Samsung are the only ones that do their pixel refresh compensations properly
Cause I was gonna buy that or the LG one , and I went with LG
but 60 nits in HDR and SDR on the same WOLED panel is a huge diff
u have the LG 240hz WOLED?
Nah not the WOLED one
ah ok
i think u mean the AQN the 360hz IPS
Itās the LG27GP95R
AQDM is 240hz oled
Yeah
honestly IPS isnt that bad, but man do i miss the OLED
Does Anyone know where i Can get a kb cable thats like seetrough or something like that? Kinda like the ones that have IEMS
i think if someone makes that its gotta be cablemod
Seeing OLED, itās hard to go back
i have the M28U gigabytes 4k144hz ips and the PG279Q which was the first 1440p165hz gsync panel back in like 2015
But them 360Hz and 500Hz monitors are crazy
the pg27 lasted me for so long its insane
I think I have one of those as well
its been my main for 3 years and my secondary for more than that
Was my first one pretty sure
it has dead pixels but its been a long time
Yeah I think I gave mine to my mom or a different ASUS one
i paid like 1200 euros for it back in the day crazy ass price but it was scalped here
Thatās wild
ye
i like 4k but man i gotta have the oled back
and 240hz oled too
144hz to 240hz i experienced it on Samsung VA and the diff was huge
Yeah I guess 4K isnāt too big of a deal for me rn
Itās super nice for watching content tho
i mean sometimes i get 240 in 4k in some games so i will def be cpu bottlenecked more at 1440p
I mean yeah, I know I do with my 4090 lol
and its in triple A games too
ye
Iām happy with my frames tho, I get 97% usage in most games
i was playing hogwarts the other way and i was almost hitting 300 sometimes lmao
this is at 4k with dlss balanced
i cant tell a diff
Nah itās not that much of a diff honestly
You have to be looking for it
And in motion it doesnāt really matter
also even 4K DLSS performance is more resolution than 1440 dlss quality
so it doesnt matter
Yeah
also keyboard related ur gonna lube ur switches now?
Yup thatās what Iām doing now
i'd grab 5 of them and experiment with different variations on the spring
especially on the bottom
it makes a huge diff
i relubed my tab and caps lock yesterday and they went from clacky and hollow to kinda deep sounding
Wym by variations? I know you mean lube but like in what way
like how much lube
And just on the base you mean ?
on the bottom of the spring
Yeah
any other areas i wouldnt overlube
Right yeah
it completely ruins the switch
Thatās what I meant by base of the spring lol
Gotcha
lol Iām pretty good with my hands
have fun and cya in 5 hours
Literally
u'll have fun doing the stabs
Actual fun?
i attribute fun with masochism
š
My wasd sounds a but different than others only because u game alot
But qwe I'd say is normal
Why?
Bruh I canāt tell if I overlubed a switch or not š
They just sound more quiet compared to the unlubed ones
depends what parts you lubed
if u feel stickyness they may be overlubed
thats why you lube switches right
I made sure all the parts are shiny when you put it to a light
And thatās it
And no white stuff on it
Made sure to make it transparent
so, do you have any problems or are you happy with the result
Tbh I canāt tell the difference between lubed and unlubed
Everyone saying it should be deeper sounding
Mine just got more quiet and thatās it
So idk if I did it right lol
you can apply very thin and it may just make it smoother and thats if
if u want thock you may apply more lube
Ah I see
the most thock comes if u lube your bottom housing
But when is it too much lube that it become āoverlubedā
so i pulled off my tape mod to fix my stabs. something fell off , tofu jr pcb, its to the left of the flex cut.
its overlubed when it sticks
when itts sticky
u can hear the wet
Thank god
u can apply as much as you want
it lit up once and then stopped, still registers keys.
until you hear wet sounds or stickyness they are overlubed
2 sec
Every time someone talks about how to lube your switches, they always mention to not over lube! So in this video, I lubed a few switches with different amounts of lube to see what the difference is! In my tests I show how each switch sounds and feels when typing.
I also quickly show how to lube your mechanical keyboard switches, or at least h...
F,G,H sounds good J and K is def overlubed
do you feel stickyness?
No
then youre good to go
its preference after all
This my first time ever doing this lol
if youre happy with it its fine
if u want a deep sound then focus on the bottom housing and stem
I dont think u got 105 oil right?
No
krytox 205g0 will be fine aswell then
I only got the gpl
205g0
good
its fine
o ok
if u havent got gpl105
Does it sound different?
GPL205g0 is the mix of GPL205 and GPL105 if im not wrong-
i mean, with the GPL105 your lube process will be easier since you can just drop like 3-5 drops into a bag and bag lube about 70-90 springs
rather than with GPL205g0 you will probably want to use a more fine brush like Size 00 or be really careful with a Size 0 brush
personally if u lubed your bottom housing with 205g0 and the springs with 105 I don't additionaly add some 205g0 on the springs but like said it everyone like they want
personally id use a Size 0 for Stem and Housing, while for springs id use Size 00, but i still find GPL105 bag lubing springs the way to go (not really into sitting down for a good few hours to brush the springs)
I see
Now I think I need to put in the foam and pcb for wooting and thatās it
Idk what other mods I really need
funny enough i don't even have my keyboard or have experience lubing switches yet, but im just compressing the knowledge i heard from others
i have trust issues when shopping for switch lube from local stores
my mind be like "what if they just put some middle class lube in there and i wouldn't even notice the difference"
since the krytox (GPL) lube sold are pretty much repackaged
o
Does branding even matter?
Someone said it doesnāt matter
Itās just 205g0 that matters
205g0 is from krytox
u usually cant buy krytox as private user like in that small amounts (10g,..) from the manufacturer themself. mainly resellers buy big amounts and repack them
o I see
yeah exactly my trust issues
I mean if they didnāt do anything suspicious to my lube then Iām fine
I would prefer to buy from keyboard resellers instead of amazon
(singapore) 50sgd shipping fee šš±
real krytox + shipping or monkey krytox + free shipping
yea im gonna spend 60 dollars on 10g of REAL KRYTOX
Gotta tank the free shipping
I once bought "krytox" from amazon and it was def not krytox. some sort of other lubricant
does it taste the same?
it looks the same acts the same
Yea good enough
yeah thats worth
hmm looks good I guess
singapore š¤”
Thatās the same as Canadian
yeap
Which is like a shit ton of money lol
keyboard hobby is not a cheap hobby thats for sure
if u would tell someone that you buy 130⬠worth of plastic for your keyboard they would think u are joking
I spent $1000
i want the kineticlabs CONTAINER
Well near it
BUT THE SHIPPING IS 50 DOLLARS
don't you know any people that could ship themselves where it may be cheaper?
I KNOW š
nope
and I am depressed when I pay 20⬠shipping
im gonna send a screenshot of all my shipping
Canada and Singapore got it rough on shipping
ouch
i hate paypal currency fees
Ikr
it's like made just to rip the fuck out of you off
yeapp ur right
Yea bruh
kbdfans is fucking expensive because of the paypal fees
they dont even give me an estimate of when itll arive LOL
they may haven't got any information bout that
Or ig yesterday
damn
real?
just buy dont think of the rate
you make me keSiao
doesnt some websites change the currency for you?
i don't think kbdfans does
Do yāall lube your stabilizer?
Or nah?
Idk if I can use that 205g0 thing again for stabilizer
you can use 205g0 or permatex dielectric grease
i use dielectric grease on the wire
its a little thicker
and 205 on the housing
o I see
I think wooting already has preapplied dielectric grease
So idk if I should even touch it
Since I donāt have nah
Any*
Anyone know any keycap sets that match the teal on my mouse? Getting my wooting ordered and Iām super excited to customize it
Fairly close but certainly a good brand
Peel the bottom part of the foam off
yeah; same
@loud zephyr
if theres a change but it doesnt feel like shit you did it right
of course overlube depends on if it starts feeling murky
ah I see
Yuh that's the one, I'd try the Tofu60 foam first
tofu60 foam isnt good dont try it
where are you located? I have the original RFP NK65 keycaps if you are interested
these
Only comes with that board tho
he said "i have"
They only were made for on that board as well tho
You'd need a different right shift
And some bottom row caps
true
ahh true good point
could sign up for this maybe?
Did anyone see the wooting live yesterday? Did you get any interesting information?
take control in other colors, some iso support
HK warehouse coming for east asian customers
Take control keycaps in more colour options shown off (still undecided which to proceed with past testing phases)
ISO support for Take Control keycaps maybe coming?
59 seconds Ā· Clipped by MacAttackss Ā· Original video "Wooting live - Calder & Erik" by Wooting
Thank you all for your help!
It was very hard for me to know the contents of that live as I am not good at English
there was the 10 minutes speedrun timer
omg if you make an iso FRENCH black and white it would be... amazing
man..
I have to redo my 3 layer switch tape mod for the alphas š
made the strips too thin
Gl haha
Yeah like others have said unfortunately this set wouldnāt work without some mismatched caps, I appreciate the offer though!
Spent 5 hours lubing last night till 2 am, can confirm, lubing your switches is not a placebo lol
( I did switch rails and stems, bottom and top housing's a little bit and base of springs. Stab wires and housings done as well)
Now I just need my Alumaze to arrive
How do you know it was too thin ?
smol
What does it means
I mean, what problem did it caused to the sounds / feel ?
Im wondering if I did my switch tape mod correctly since I feel mushiness
I dont even know but it feels wrong
some feel perfectly smooth and fast as it was
But i feel like it got more resistance now
Ima lube the tape
how ridiculous would it be to try to paint part of the top housing of the switches so theyāre not so visually obvious under the key cap?
kind of depends ... are your keycaps transparent?
i mean, the angle of sight, hardly you will see the switches...
don't over-engineer š
Iām rationalizing my way into a paint pen to test
btw @bronze grove i need to go back to my statement of lubbing ... light lubing, doesn't really change the pitch that much ... but "full-freaking-time-consuming" lubing ... does š
so ... i was not correct on my statement
@visual raven paiting the top housing of the switches ... its kind of useless, because they will be hidden by the switches...
Theyāre normal opaque caps, but I painted my plate black so the clear housings catch the light pretty good
Hey guys!
Can anybody send me in the right direction when looking for customized keycaps for the wooting 60E UK ISO < 3
well... the thickest the deeper sound, kind of depends on what you are looking for ...
When actually using the keyboard, yeah for sure thereās barely any switch visible. When glancing at it when sitting back from my desk a fairly small amount I find it quite noticeable
my 2 cents on keycaps, you can be lucky on some clones, but after getting 4 clones ... e decided going full "official" keycaps ... keeping the spending kind of logical ... not going for ABS ... but always for PBT ... but that's my opinion, others may haver different takes
keyboards are to be used, not be be glanced š ...
not that way at least
š
Looking for those PBT caps. I actually quite new to modding so I don't really know the options that are available.
Preferably PBT keycaps that are customizable with my own logo or icons and such
ooooof @faint timber for customizable i don't have any experience with
i don't really care about that š maybe some friends in the channel have some ideas for you
No worries. Any keycaps that you do reccomend then that can make the 'thock' sound
Guys, can I use plastic tape for the tape mod?
Plastic...tape?
Anyone got any helpful links to taking the 2 HE apart for modding?

The PC plate is a marginal upgrade in sound for the Wooting 60 HE. I only really recommend upgrading if you're very dedicated in modding the Wooting. I'd say just get a clean keycap set and maybe a tofu redux without the bar if you want it to match. However, to improv...
Interesting
I haven't done a lot of mods but I do feel like lubing makes the biggest difference
indeed it does
someone is missing a ring ... everyone that does keebs youtube videos MUST have a ring on the finger š
but something is correct... the sound, overall, doesn't change much š ... i still think 3 layer tape mods does change the sound ... and a FULL lube of the switches ( yes, light lubing won't do much, but full lube work will change the pitch ... time consuming af... )
overall conclusions ... for sound ... mechanical swiches will be more impacted by the overall mods
Yeah, I did a full lubing last night, took me 5 hours with some fuckin around inbetween lol
Was worth it tho
yeah, its softer ... tbh, the first i lubed them it was a light lube, did not change much
after i did a full job lube ... it changed
yeah I tested a few switch lightly lubed and then I did full lube on the bottom and top housings
but I just did light layers
im waiting for my ks-20s ... from what i saw from badseed reviews, they are already pre-lubed and lubing by yourself won't bring much added value, so waiting to see what happens...
tbh ... my keyboard, for my likings, is as good as it gets right now
How do they sound compared to lekker?
yeah I'm waiting for PC plate and Alumaze
if the sound signature doesn't change much ... i might think buying the wooting module, building a new keyboard and giving it to my son ehehe
Ima watch that ks20 vid from Bad Seed, Im curious
i still did not do the burger mount but
Yeah the module seems dope, esp since it has pcb stabs
yep š already ordered 2 TX screw-ins
but i'm also building a Tofu Redux for work
with a KBD pcb
Lol yeah I ordered plate mount TX AP and the new screw in ones, just to try them out
so i will be able to try out different cases and all
for plate mount i just use my old trusted everglide panda's v3 š
loved them the first time ... still love them ...
but i did every mod i could to them, so
at the end of the day, if you mod the stabs ... they will all sound similar
Yeah after lubing the stock stabs and wires they're really not that bad tbh
but I'm new so what do I know lol
ehehe it's normal ... and tbh, custom keyboards are about swapping parts that come stock
with after market that "we think" are better
š
Lol yeah
i have 4 customs
i did not go crazy in terms of prices for cases and such
but the time and effort
... that's what really makes the custom keyboards special
at the end of the day ... sometimes we have placebo effect ... sometimes we really admire our effort
but we love the end result
š
Yeah I kinda feel like it's more about the time and effort put into your board rather than just buying the most expensive parts
yeah, almost like overclocking a cpu ... well nowadays its not exactly like that ... but some years ago, you would get a intel cpu and get 30% (at least) more performance from it just by overclocking it
nowadays its all about power consumption and temperature
my son still has a Intel 4th generation, at 4.8Ghz ... š
yeah i know i need to get him a new cpu/platform
but either way ...
buying keyboards that are not so expensive
Hey guys quick question, can you put screw in stabs on the wooting 60?
no
no
plate mount only
nooope, just plate mounted
You have to buy the Wooting Module to get Screw In Stabs
man, the cool think, i started all this hobby with a ducky keyboard]
and learned how to solder with it
and desolder of course
removed all the switches ... solderer new switches ...
and of course, new sound dampening and stabs and all
š
but its was very complex to start with that basis ...
then ... after that ducky... i learned what to swap switches to a mouse
so i tuned my GPX (1st gen)\
modding mice is so underrated
