perfectly linear
except my escape key
full on tactile
o
but i dont mind it
for the funnzies
forgot about the effects, what did added another layer do again?
for the ones that has or done the switch tape mod. Don't worry if your one or a few of your switch feels tactile, you just messed up. The only solution to this is just start over but do it correctly and making sure the tape sticks flat in the top housing.
If the switch has a very tiny tactility you can leave it alone. It will smooth out over time.
who is this gamer
who
you

what the fucks up with that table
its wrapped
with idk
forgot whats the material was called
they got tha clear coat on the kitchen table
tape
im talking about the one on the left lmao
haha
OHH
yeah we were looking for the white double sided tape but we couldnt find it so we used the yellow ones instead
I just realized you were using a colorful cable for the wooting to your laptop
i respect going with the keycap theme
ah yes
unlike me I still got the black and yellow cable from wooting lol
just make my rgb rainbow
lemme try that rq
oh shit that looks nice
wait holdup it looks nice
Changing my PC to an all white build. Might have to do the same to my keyboard
Black mouse and black pad tho
oh lord
Err
reeeee
Yeah maybe not lol
no
Black desk, white PC
black mice white mousepad
all good lol
yessir white and black setup lets goooo!!
Yeah white mousepad sounds fkd
im just rnadom
White dav3 wired would hit
I would switch to white Wooting if they drop that
Or maybe a white X2H
concrete alumaze with their white keycaps or any other keycaps?
Oh fkkkk
oh its just that
or the tofu white
Yeah dude the concrete alumaze is the best
i thought u could actually drop the pcb into the casew
actually now my wooting sounds more thocky
why
it sounded creamy and then thocky
the rgb bleed in the reviews on the white keycaps is wild 💀
heh then just dont use rgb
in the dark tho
easy
dude my wooting sounds so good atm, im just keeping randomly pressing the key just to even hearing the sound
Gross
not even for writing anything
oh hell-
I picked up that habit a loooong time ago
faxxxxxxxx
even my kids watching me do that they just wanna touch my keyboard too
but bro i would never let my kids touch my keyboard
I’ll get there eventually
people at my school do the same thing
with their greased fingers

ew
they put fingers in mouth
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
fingers in food
ewww
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
let me keycaps clean
😭
i even wash my hands with soap whenever im going to touch my wooting
I treat my wooting like a holy grail 🤣
can u imagine
personally use the cover that comes with the wooting
marshmellows :)
lol
ngl I kinda want to try out the ceramic spacebar on my wooting
but that would look weird with my keycaps lmao
gummy oring fixed my spacebar
I love concrete grey Alumaze
just looking at my keycaps and then there'll be a random glossy spacebar
lol
I would spraypaint that accent piece black
im too much impatient bro to wait the restock of keebcat for o ring
dude my spacebar sounded satisfying for a moment but when I took out my pcb to mod stuff and put it back
do u think this would fit?
dude its always like that for everyone 😭
still out of stock
Parallel O-Rings vary based on hardness. Hardness is inversely correlated to “bounciness” or “feel” of typing on the keyboard, allowing for deep customization of your typing experience. These O-rings can be used with Parallel 65% keyboards, such as Sequence & Portal, as well as a few other custom boards.
anyone has tried this?
its in stock
nope
me and tenz used the bakaneko 30a ring
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/jarcUHKq-7E I want my spacebar to sound like NGL

shipping too expensive for EU if i take the bakaneko
well it would work if the size is correct
i like it
yez
well im not gonna risk it then
also now that i have the pc plate from wooting
im wondering if pom would be even more thock
Our custom plates for the Wooting 60HE is perfect to improve the sound of the original keyboard. Easily switch out the plate to improve typing experience and sound of your Wooting 60HE. Metal plates will be 1.5mm thick (the same as the original plate) Plastic plates such as POM, PETG and Impact Modified Acrylic are 1.5
what do u think?
pom would probably be creamy
shit mate so addictive to modding i feel like i will never stop
seeing all my eujros in bank account going into keyboard parts
🤣
and what about this
Innovative 3-in-1 design, which combines three essential functions into one seamless solution without wasting any material. Available in either authentic PORON™ or soft Silicone, our product covers every aspect of switch tightening, sound dampening, and sound isolation. Switch films play a crucial role in reducing stem wobble by tightening the s...
filming switches, put poron pad on pcb and on plate is going to give me more thock?
yeah i know
not a problem
i have access to kbdfans throught aliexpress anyway
these are the ones i got
try poron films if u go for filming your switches
i used films made out of pc and it made my switches high pitched
also thanks god i got 0 custom taxes from my kbdfans last order, so lucky
yeah ty ive read that somewhere
rip not filming my switches with the films i bought then
gonna go poron for all since im looking for low pitch
well you could try them and see if it has a different effect for you
kinda wanna try geon films
guys i think im fucked
why
my black pom from them just shipped ill keep you updated lol
no wonder why I was confused
thats why you read the whole assignment first
well heres the thing
its raining 🤠
i live alone most of the time (parents come home from work at mid night)
im only 14
i got no car and no money
and no materials
how do you live alone and youre 14
the dean of academics heard my situation and gave me a video to copy and some materials (a shit ton of color paper and cardboard)
so yeah
im fucked :)
rip
hes 14 if you ask for a face reveal again youre gonna be charged with a crime
thats why hes a criminal
lol
LMAO
i play volleyball
smack some ballz
👍
yessa volleyball
literally me
"freedom"
¯_(ツ)_/¯
just smurfing
who said i suck
aight
just let me commit arson at school so i can play
Just play during school ezpz
god i wanna build my keyboard already man
fax
hate waiting for shit to ship
i feel u
I wish I found wooting when module released >:v
Wooting
wooding
forreal i couldve saved 9 bucks and got the wooting without the shitty case or keycaps
no offense to wooting ofcourse
and have screw in stabs!!
i mean i got mines for free so
take it or leave it
AND
¯_(ツ)_/¯
fax
because it decreased in price 😭
its crazy how shit the wooting sounds out of the box
ks20
they should start replacing the steel plate with pc plate
i mean its alot better than alot of the "gamer" keyboards
ig
every review ive watched said theres no crazy difference
its really not though
the module itself obviously is
I say lekker switches
suprised they didnt tbh
ks-20 has miniscule difference and sacrafices performance
bro i prefer stock wooting over some like steelseries or some shit
like its weird
performance wise ofcourse but they sound the same
i understand why people would choose steelseries apex pro mini sound profile over wooting but for me stock wooting>steelseries apex pro min
dont feel the same for me
i hate it
idfk
lol
would be nice if wooting improved on the switches
somehow getting rid of the chattery sound
or gave us films
honeslty just appreciate their hardwork
pass
better than their first wooting
what?
they're already improving from the past
let them be man
they're listening to us like gods
atleast they're the first gaming keyboard company that made their own univeral alu case ¯_(ツ)_/¯
fax
ill let them be when they give me 30g springs
see? they listen
thats crazy
oh damn u like it lightt
i want mines to be 65 grams
i like my 60 grams
yeah not a fan of heavier springs
45 is fine but im not buying a whole new set of switches for -15g
I dont think thats accurate
well idk
Travel distance depends more on pcb
my gateron KS20 orange act the same as lekkers
oo then it's fine then
they take 0.1 as lekkers, tbh its real clones
If it doesn't sacrifice performance and is cheaper then yeah I say get it
im assuming theres also no official films for the ks20
ok then nevermind
this makes more sense now that i think about it, thanks for opening my eyes
but because my lekkers are already modded i just dont use my KS20 set
wanna resell them? im in france too bro
nah i've cut some springs to make a frankenstein lekker with harder spring for ma ceramic space bar sorry
you can have them for 21$ + ship on KBD or 31€ on AE gateron shop
and it was a 35pcs pack anyway
yess..I need a white wireless mouse 😔
i miss the gpx :<
my stabs are still ticking after tuning the wire, but not when I tap the keycaps instead when I press the key down. what could I do?
bandaid below the wire maybe?
I might cop a white one when they do X2Hv2
Heard the QC is kinda sus
Cop the mini and go full claw
Can you upload an audio?
yeah I can, give me 5 mins
its the right side
I had bandaid below the stab before and removed it recently but didn't help
I relubed aswell already
Are GMK clones off AliExpress a good or bad idea tho
wire balance?
When you say you lubed, what lube did you use on the stabilizer wires?
yeah I did that as good as it was possible
no, I holee modded them, lubed the stems & housing and the wire
I think I gotta take a better look at the wire but since it doesn't tick when I only tap the keycap I have no clue
What kind of lube on the wires? @cyan summit
OK, wanted to make sure you used a grease on the wires and not the 205. When you lubed the wires did you coat them thick and up around the bends?
yes I did
If you haven't watched this video I highly recommend it https://youtu.be/vxHb6CJc9V8?si=oOXHTA3QWP8LJJ2z
Here is how I mod my stabilizers. I get asked this a lot of my streams and honestly, I figured why not just record this so I can link this video instead of having to re-explain it every time. I hope you enjoy it. Please remember this video is only covering lubing and installing, some stabs like cherry clip-ins, you'll need to clip the bottom leg...

I will take a look at it, thanks for now
That shit black Black holy-
Can I see your whole setup my guy? I love a black/gray/silver look
Thanks, and PC and everything else too?
I made the mistake of buying a dxracer that's like a concrete gray, wish I got a black one
Amazon under desk mount from Vivo, and a cable raceway
Did it cost you a fortune?
I've got a mish mash of shit in some nzxt case and nothing looks that cohesive
3D printed audio interface mount from Printables
Not at all! Probably spent about 50 bucks for everything regarding cable management
What's the keyboard mods
Not a Wooting, but it’s a DZ60 in a Tofu 60 V1
Gateron Oil Kings, Burger mount, 2 layers of foam, and a PC plate
3 layer? Tape mod
Might take it off though
How do you know what you're typing lol
Durock V2 black stabs
all about getting used to key layout
Tbh lol I just got into PC building last year, it’s a 60% so it’s not hard to memorize
I do struggle sometimes but I’ve gotten much better
Average 55-60 WPM on it
Not exceptional, but good enough for me
And you really don’t need to be looking at your keyboard, it’s a bad habit
Yeah sometimes glancing at my keyboard to remind myself where the keys are helps me go extra fast though, I'm a fast typer
Just really liked the blank keycap look when I saw Optimums
would be faster to find an anchoring point for your pinky or something
Mine and his
No trust, I don't need to look at the keyboard and I don't type the traditional way, but I type reallyy fast
what is really fast
Been too long since I measured, I'm not home for another month and can't get back into gaming for another year
I don't type the "traditional" way either, whatever that is. just tested 132wpm on monkeytype
Nice, I might rest my pinky tbh I just don't think about it, use my pointers and middle fingers I think
I am at ~120 aswell and I think for daily basis its more than enough
I use every finger on my left hand I think. I haven't been home since January so 🤷♂️
But I'm guessing off my muscle memory here
I watched a 120wpm video quick, I'm probably 110-115
Blazing quick
yeah that's nuts
Loool I dont have enough finger coordination to do that at all
If I smash my face against the keyboard I might make 160
What does a secretary average?
1wpm
You would know, nurse
How are you doing?
good good, messed up my sleep schedule over the weekend and I have to wake up in 5,5 hours
the lake was starting to freeze so I had to pull my boat to the winter warehouse aka upside down in the forest
some kitchen renovations
cs2
good stuff
its 2.30 am and normally I would stand up at 6.15, schedule is gone aswell
yeah I'm just a bit east from you I guess, 3:30 here
istanbul timezone right?
fin
ah
It may be yeah but I forgot how its called haha
How you liking cs2?
pretty bad overall, slowly getting better. the biggest problems are the insane peeker's advantage, interpolation problems and client vs server spray desync
not the cs2 the majority was expecting
but as a core it's great, and it's going to get good eventually. they just made a mistake of releasing now, before fixing the glaring issues
oh and subtick movement is ass vs de-subticked movement or 128 tick movement
because it's inconsistent.. oh well I could rant forever about the problems honestly
Yeah that's about what it sounds like. But it still seems worth the play just with shit like smokes and visuals
But I heard they fucked movement and sprays a bit
I'm happy that I get to wait so long until I can play again, by that time it'll be more refined, but I'm hoping they solve the glaring issues you mentioned
I think csgo was getting very dry, and it was a lot easier to play a game or three when I didn't have to work so much
So I love that they shortened the match length a little bit, it forced me to go to apex and valorant sometimes
Cs2 💀
at its core it's still CS so it's still better than any other competitive fps game
I'm sure they'll do their best to fix stuff, but it took around 4-5 years for csgo to get everything near perfect, and of course it still wasn't perfect at the end, as nothing can be really
I'm kind of on the fence about mr12, it's kind of fun to play more games but with the current economy it's not that great. some adjustments needed there too for sure
Cs premier rn is just vs 5 stacks or 5 stacks with hacker
mmm the soloqueue experience is worse than it ever was lol
My pcb plates stuck in transit because of slow courier
solo'd to global in csgo but here most of the time you get teammates who are just starting the game and play against a 5 stack every time. the ratings can be all over the place and the system values fast queue times too much, I'd really like for it to give a game a minute later if that meant a better game
I solo too but global are mostly 5 stacks or hacker in csgo. Cs2 i solo and has queued against 5 stacks 8 times in a row rn, waiting for next reset to play for drop

wtf
no ur not
lol
nah acually a clean build
heh
moggs mine
i only just realised why u pinged me xd
tf is moggs
its over...
hi
zuh zuh zanks
please keep discusions in #💬│general
im sorry but this is my home
mb
i retract my statement
you think theses would be good on a 60he?
depends on your theme
ok um then personal preference
ig
if you like then get em
arl thx
what monitor is that
asked bc it looks thicc
nah i just got the base rotated
interesting
oh i see
Zowie monitors 4 life
Hype
@fluid ravine did tempest mod helped getting a better sound with Pc plate ?
Haven’t done tempest mod yet since I installed my Pc plate
should i get these?
Naah, stock stabs are fine, just ensure they're not bent; which I doubt they will be
I think the most noticeable difference would be stock plate vs PC plate before sound deadening materials added. Once you add layers of tape and foam then it becomes less obvious
Yeah the stock stabs are pretty good actually. Even the spacebar sounds pretty good 🙂
Only thing you would need to do is maybe lube the stabs and wires.
You could also get the wires out and check if they are bent at all. You can do this by putting it on a flat surface and then tapping the wire to see if there is any movement
A decent sound comparison with an alu plate as well as Wooting's PC
Notes: I have the tofu redux without the brass bar. Stock foam on both cases.
The PC plate is a marginal upgrade in sound for the Wooting 60 HE. I only really recommend upgrading if you're very dedicated in modding the Wooting. I'd say just get a clean keycap set and maybe a tofu redux without the bar if you want it to match. However, to improv...
I've got a sweet new 60HE keyboard on the way that I'm super stoked about. I'm hoping to pimp it out with some funky keycaps like the ones in the pic I just pasted.
It's got a Nordic layout though, so it needs caps with the extra tall enter key and ÅÄÖ keys. Anyone know where a guy could find white caps like these that would fit?
Keep in mind that these keycaps will have almost no light on the lettering.
i feel like ive seen links for that @real fern
unless you south face the switches?
https://www.amazon.com/Fogruaden-Minimalist-Switches-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B0C7BB914F/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=side%2Bprinted%2Bkeycaps&qid=1698059953&sr=8-5&th=1 something like this?
That wouldn't help in the slightest, only make it worse.
The LED is on the north side of the switch, as is the "window" allowing light to shine up.
the leds are on the pcb, not on the switches
ohh
And even if they were, they'd still be either north or south facing depending on the PCB.
yes
coat the inside of the keycap in mirror finish 🙃
im actually getting the same thing but black lmao
black tofu redux + black sidelit doubleshot pbt keycaps
didn't think of led positioning so this was good that I asked before ordering anything
I like the font on those caps though
Any feedback on keebtape from Keebmat ?
All of a sudden PC plate isn’t the savior everyone thought it would be lol
These sound tests don’t sound that much different lol
just like a cold beer
It's deeper and more consistent for me
Still gonna work on it
Loving the typing feel tho
Ain't too stiff as tray mount now
Getting some bounces and a little flex ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
Depends how you wanna gasket mount, if you are talking about the gummy o-ring mount, I just take some switch pullers, take out two switches and pull on the plate
lekker switch sound just bad
i would take carbon fibre for clack
but for it to be include in prebuilt wooting
= more $$
alu would be good but probably more flexy
I have a question, do you guys clean and relube switches after a certain amount of time ?
No.
Ok
Please adjust your volume until hearing some background noise.
Mounting : O-ring

sound test for my friend build
lubed l60
durock stab
oring 50a
tape mod
stock plate foam
Biggest mistake I see people make who complain their keyboard doesnt sound deep enough are typically using really low quality keycaps.
Those pudding keycaps for example are some of the worst offenders
not necessarily cheap, just thin
well i know that
it is just want my friend want
i tested with thick dyesub pbt too
but cant find the video anymore
just format my phone last month
doesnt change the fact that lekker sound worse than coventional switch
due to magnet stuff
you still use the stock steel plate though
in a tray mount case
the o-ring won't change that it sits stiff af in the case
which amplifies the sound
You're both right and wrong. The switch's sounds are indeed limited by the steel plate (but not by the magnet) and tray mounting. Gummy mounting 100% helps eliminate sound dead spots that arise with conventional tray mounting as there are no connection points. Softer o-rings do provide a little bounce (not flex) but it will never be the same as a gasket mount feel.
the o-ring helps
but it still is a tray mount
unless you remove the tray mounting points
and add enough support pillars to fully mount with the oring you won't get rid of it
does l45 sound better than l60?
I just use a large enough diameter o-ring to float the PCB above the standoffs and then I put a small silicone rubber pad in each corner that sits .5mm higher than the highest stand offs.
only difference is weight
ah
at that point it sits super tight though
which reduces the dampening effect
Its no tighter than a gummy mount on my 2 other gummy mounted boards
I have seen how tight yours is
my future build would be
oring with pc/ carbon figre plate from kbdfan
and it is much tighter than any gummy mount board I have ever owned
so like 5 different customs
I have a Parallell 65 as well and the gummy is just as tight. In fact it might be tighter because of the bend around the 65% spacer
that is specifically an issue with that board though
I don’t understand the second part of your sentence. I’m not fluent in English tbh. Can you explain it more / maybe show photos ? Gonna get into gasket gummy o ring mount too with my tofu redux
And I don’t wanna do anything wrong
The second part of the sentence? ABout the silicone rubber in the corner?
Get a pack like this https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-300-Piece-Adhesive-Rubber-Bumpers/dp/B087MG3G76/ref=sr_1_9 and find ones that are just a bit taller than the standoffs on your case. Then put them in the corner so that the PCB will never touch the stand-offs
is anyone having trouble initializing their 60HE after the new wootility update ?
I havent tried it yet but all of the betas worked great. Try unplugging, waiting a few seconds and plugging back in. If that doesnt work submit a thread in support
I've been trying to get it going for the past hour, looks like it just worked, not sure tho, if it comes back I'll submit a thread
Oooh okay i got it now
Thanks for explaining. Wouldn’t it be better to put these directly on the standoffs ?
Also is this mandatory ? @fluid ravine @quiet bay have u guys put also these adhesives rubber bumpers in the corners of your cases ?
I dont think it would be better but yes you could do that if you wanted. I like just having the corners touching the pads if the o-ring slides down and not all of the PCB contact points
Def not mandatory, just preference
In the corner of the case, or put it in the corner of the pcb ?
Case I presume
case
I don't
I use poly fill to cover the standoffs so I'm technically doing it?
Switching periods rn hehe
I also have these on my usb c standoff
Specs: Silicone material Diameter 4.8mm, height 3.5mm, screw hole 2mm, thickness 0.5mm Sold as one package contains 6 covers It is used on the standoff of most tray mount metal cases. Function: Anti-static, anti-short circuit, noise reduction Compatibility One pack (6 covers): Tofu60, Tofu65, A60, GH60 aluminum case
I first started using the silicone pads when I was testing out the Baldr60 case. I removed all of the standoffs in the case and just floated the board at the corners using the pads. The o-ring was firm enough to keep the PCB from falling out
I do think I already have those rubber things from my IKEA desk
kind of want to do switch tape mod but also i have lubing ptsd
Some, who customized their Wooting 60HE, stumbled upon one part that they didn't like and wished they could change. And that part was usually the Steel plate. Steel is known to produce high-frequency sounds in the keyboard space, and that's why plenty of people tend to lean towards a polycarbonate plate. Let's hear what a difference it all makes...
Time to watch sander in 4K
i’m new to keyboard modding. sounds stupid ik but do all lubes make the keys sound the same when lubed?
The pc plate video is reall
any news on an alumaze sound test?
Not the same but it will sound nicer and feel smoother
Different parts of the keyboard will sound different
They will sound similar though
ah okay. i was j planning on getting a full lubing kit from amazon and was just wondering. appreciate it
👍
lubing spring remove the spring ping, top/btm housing dampens the press/release sound etc
they do make a difference unless ure only lubing the stem then it will just feel smoother and more consistent than the factory lube
also pc plate with no foam sounds kinda sick tho

yea i’ll be lubing the stem. I looked up some tutorials and stuff. was just making sure it doesn’t matter what brand of lube you use
Lubing them yourself will make them sound more consistent than factory lubed
Krytox 205g0 for switches
how do O rings affect the keyboard?
What kind of o ring are you talking about
Theres a gummy o ring, burger mount, and one that u put under ur keycaps which is not good
Most likely burger mounting
Just to make it sound more uniform than tray mount for the most part
Burger mount basically kinda removes contact from the case
My pc plate should be here within this week
Soon
Yeah i used a slow courier but it arrived in my country today
gotchu. and pretty sure the ones that go under the keycaps. it j comes in the kit so i was j wondering
Ass-1, Ass-2 💀💀💀
yea ik LMFAO
Dont use o ring on wooting he switches
gotchu
Looks good
Might wanna use some grease for stab wires thi
Tho
I tried grease for stab and i went right back to good old krytox 💀
Damn what happened
Too mushy, krytox just feels much smoother for me
Just make the Wooting sound as good as you possibly can with these switches. Use it for gaming and be happy. Build a different keyboard for work, etc. That's how i'm doing it 🙂
A decent amount
ard bet. ima look at the lubing guide again to see if i got everything
205g0 can still be used on wires
Just too dense for me i guess
Yeah krytox works well on stab too just that u might have to reapply a little sooner than grease
Whenever I try reapplying lube to my stabs it always results in a sticky mess
I'm using Superlube for the wires. Dieelectric grease.
And Krytox for the stabs and switches
I use molykote from the wooting lube kit and my fingers got sticky from touching it
I just squeeze xht-bdz in a mounted stab with a syringe
You can use Krytox but it's not as thick for wires.
Works (almost) every time
Completely kills rattle while not ruining feel
Only if the stabs feel scratchy i need to also put 205g0 on the stem with a brush
I did molyko first too but washed and switched to krytox
Absolute cheat code ngl
I dont have a syringe, maybe i should let someone make a good spacebar stab for me
Lol
works, according to some people testing it
I have some rattling but any more lube it feels off if i dont do it with syringe 💀
says
Wooting™ compatible - just be extra careful in case you remove it.
anyone tried band aid mod on stabs?
Easiest fix will be holee mod but im too lazy
depends on the stabs
Holee is so ass
Just makes bottom out soft
too finicky, just put nlgi 2 in there :D
Yeah but i can slightly hear the wire hitting the stab casing when i repeatedly spam my spacebar hard and fast

hard and fast?

press the spacebar closer down onto the stab slider
I mean you can check if the wire os bent
You'd need to fully clean it tho
sometimes having some spac emakes the switch push it further up pulling the sliders up and against the wire
Also check how tight the housings sit in the plate
yeah, some people actually add 0.1mm washers on top of the pcb to move the stab a bit higher than the switch - putting those stab tapes under it probably does the exact same thing
U mean pushing it more inwards or more left/right
more down so the spacebar sits all the way on the stab sliders
The stab sits well on the plate no shake for that mounting stab has to give
becuse if not then the switch would pull it further than the sliders go, know what i mean?
It’s as far down as it can be, there’s a click to tell so
you could get thockfilms to film your switches, that pack has 16 0.1mm washers in it for hot swap boards, could use those to mod your stabs :D
The new video had everything i wanted the video to have EXCEPT alumaze sound test Pain
Not looking to flim switches since the casing it tight, it’s just the stem that wobbles
Do u actually mean the keycaps onto the stab?
It’s as far down as it can, it was so down that the keycap puller went into my keycaps when i was pulling it out 💀
Now i can see a keycaps puller dent on my spacebar
ouch
So i had to change it to a raisin spacebar keycaps
But hyped for my pc plates even with my stabs being slightly off
So who prefers the gateron orange switches (ks20?) Over lekker and why?
it's the same
I prefer lekkers basing on familiarity bias, as I haven't tried gaterons, but I've tried lekkers and I liked them
I love raisin spacebars
Apparently there's a slight difference with actuation or force, including mushiness at the bottom. That's what I've heard but I'm curious if anybody's tried both here
oh you're right, orange are about 50g if i recall and feel lighter, also annoying orange top housing. But same wooble / noise (i own both)
and i still use my modded lekkers
yes hand lubed and switch tape modded
You like thock then, what case do you use?
https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1155567787809456210 my build and you can find orange sound test here
I had people argue with me last week saying the orange ks20 were significantly better despite me explaining they are likely from the same tooling line and just a different actuation force.
spring is different.... and yea color, but to me that"s all
and stem wobble is exatly the same, you can use orange stem on lekkers or lekkers stem on gateron, will sound the same.
For fun here are 8 stabilizer sound tests using different plates, mounting styles and brands. All lubed with oil on housings and grease on the wires.
the orange ones should be a newer (not necessarily better) tooling afaik
which calder personally refused to use
so if there are any "major" changes I would assume them to be worse if anything
Thats the issue. Presumably they changed the tooling to produce higher yields for their own switches and that caused an issue for the wooting switches. I can almost guarantee the same line was used for both until Wooting became aware of the change and said something (lived in china 4 years and worked in manufacturing)
👍
so they prob just increased life of the toolings or something I assume
"increased" aka just made the number higher without any significant changes
or increased regrind or something
Well as he mentioned, even if you have a failure rate off of the die that's under 1% thats still a lot of lost switches. They likely made a change to decrease those failures but that changed increased issues with the switch.
Again, its very very unlikely they retooled an entire new line for their switches
aka no major changes
only way they could actually improve them is better factory lube or polished toolings ig?
both of which should be noticeable immediatley
or completely new toolings obv
which they aren't
Oh I dont know about that, there may be a ton of ways to improve the switch, in fact Wooting has made some revisions themselves to make them better. Its when the manufacturer makes a change in order to decrease waste (increase revenue) and that change impacts the functionality of the switch, thats the issue.
We may see a Lekker 2.0 in the future that makes significant changes, who knows.
well knowing what gateron atm does to make a switch better than the ks-3 they made ages ago
whichever case you want
and keycaps
I love the last one, so mute. What did you do?
If you want official support and like 45g or 60g then get a lekker switch. If you want another spring weight and dont mind 3rd party then get the ks20
it comes with switches
just use those
oh

thought it did
well
get whichever wheighting you like most
Thats the advantage of the module, customization!
I will go for l60 personally
since I tend to use a similar weighting with longer than standard springs
I have ks-20 white and they feel the same tbh
Since they fixed the issue, go for l45 imo
Soon, I think the date they announced was 8 November
I was out this weekend so dont 100% quote me on that but that was the last I heard
Which 2?
there are 2 lekkers already
What're the mods and specs of the last board in that video my guy
Silent switches and tons of foam. Its very muted. I personally dont like it lol
so you got 4 as an option
Would you sell it?
- harvesting apex pros ig
Or is it not a wooting at all
I'm planning to order the 45's with my module since those are the only ones I havent tried yet
Its not a Wooting board
Gotcha
I much prefer the spring weight of the 60's but that's truly a personal preference
Plus I wouldnt like being pigeon holed into an orange hue for every color
I have to imagine a nice white RGB effect would look great with your black set up
Im not either honestly. I tend to pick a specific muted color and leave it at that. Currently its orange ironically lol
Are the L45's quieter or better in any way? I understand that springs are lighter but that's it
Are the L60s more similar to the force of a generic dell keyboard, or more like a cherry mx red?
Nvm just found this https://wooting.io/post/the-best-keyboard-switches-for-gaming
... it's nothing big, just clean-up and updates
its still surreal to me seeing the old lekker design
I gotchu
@fluid ravine link me the gummy o-ring you used so I can add to the FAQ

Ive only used the graveshift ones. Also, gummy mounting will likely be impossible with the 60HE module due the scew-in stabs
wait why do plate mount stabs not allow gummy mounting?
would the o ring interfere with the stabilizers on the edges or something?
screw-in stabs would prevent it because they mount on the edge of the PCB causing the o-ring to push out too far
would wooting not have the stabilizers screw in to basically the same spot they are already in?
even if you have extra space for screws i doubt it would reach the edge of the board
That is what causes the issue
wouldn't it depend on how wooting positions their screws?
i dont know a lot about this topic so bear with me
oh it would be hard to do the spacebar
And the backspace
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i don't know how that would work out
The stabilizer screw-in points are pretty universal
yep i see that
i wonder if you could mod it to make it work
maybe cut the gummy o ring in certain places
definitely not an elegant solution but i think it should work
you have two options
either screws on the side of the ring
or the wire on the side of the ring
No, but you could always replace the screw-in stabilizers with plate mounted ones. The PC plate supports both
guess which one causes mroe issues
clip in stabilizers have more clearance
and work just fine
just get cheap cherry clip ins
replace the wires with c3 ones if you wanna be fancy
~5€/USD for a set of stabs
The PCB doesnt support clip-in stabs
I do think swapping stabs is the better choice, Modding the o-ring is a bad idea
agreed
turns out i accidentally ordered a set of tx clip in stabs so if i end up getting the module that works
yes
as long as you got the right wire length
is yours a WK or WKL one
aka is the spacebar stabilizer 7u or 6.25u
wooting needs WK/6.25u
it comes with a wire for both
At least with the TX clip-ins the clip in post is spreadable to help prevent the stabs from popping out
not really an issue tbh
makes them sit tighter
which is the bigger problem if anything
but you can do that on any clip in stabilizer
Ive had a few of my clip-in stabs pull free over the years. On a solder boards its a huge pain in the ass.
idk about all of that i just ordered a set in addition to my plate mount ones in case i got the modules in the future

I think I had more issues with wires popping out
specifically with durock v1s
and gon stabs
Ive also had that issue
which is a much bigger pain to fix
I think I have like 5 packs of the v1's sitting here that I dont use for that reason lol
oh I had the whole stabilizer coming out on one board
where I had to add material to the stabilizer stem to make caps sit better
which made them sit super tight
was easy to reinsert since it was plateless
LESSGOO
ik someone is designing a case specifically for wooting gummy o-ring mount
@fluid ravine you see this?
The have official support you would want PCB cut-outs along the edge as well

ye ik
not 100% sure how they plan on doing it
would have to look at it
man if only I could get a duck eagle

You can see the cutouts on the merror60 PCB
those are some odd cutouts lol
Kk gimme a second
I mean these are all you need
for maximum case compatability
man I really want a duck eagle now
didn't know that had pok3r PCB compat
What that one is missing are the widen tray mounting holes for cases with non-removable standoffs
yea cause it was made to be used with cases that actually properly support that mount
has anyone tried the 70a gummy o ring from bakeneko?
That what makes the Merro PCB so great. It supports cases that werent made for it as well.
i would think it might be a little too hard
from my experience doesn't make a huge difference
unless you go for 30A
It would be hard for sure but it wouldnt fit as snug and that might be something you prefer if you take out your PCB a lot
alright ill just go with the 30a
I use these a lot and you have more hardness levels to choose from
really wish that they were white
or black
i fear that the colors might be a bit visible and my keyboard is all white
Unless you have a transparent case you shouldnt see the ring color
Yeah it's not visable
with my current keycaps the bottom of them is ever so slightly above the edge of the case
im trying to fix that issue but im pretty sure it might make it visible
idk im not at my main setup right now
I've tried the 65a and they work but I currently use 30-50 for most stuff
alright i ordered a 30a bakeneko and a 55a graveshift
The harder the o-ring, the smaller the diameter. 30a is softer but larger (harder to get in and out of the case).
Not that Im aware of
I really don’t want this thing coming out so that will probably be the one I use
So the 70a should be very easy to get in and out ?
Easier (not easy)
None of them are going to fall out
Hm so what’s the point having diff size then
70 should flex more than 30a when typing ?
Even in like a carrying case or something?
70 is harder
ok im home now
30a gives a more softer bouncy typing experience
70 is harder
It’s not logical
?
If it’s easier to pull in and out with 70a
It means it would bounce more than a 30a that is harder to pull out - in
they wont fall out
What am I understanding wrong here
I would imagine the reason for that is that with a softer rubber it will squish against the case more
Getting more friction
In addition to supposedly being thicker
Like how your shoes will grip the ground better if made out of soft rubber
Than hard marble
the "a" is the softness. In a traditional gummy o-ring mount the board would bounce because the o-rings would sit direclty on the ledges on the edge of the case. You would want a harder stiffness if you want the board to bounce less. In our case, we are doing more of a friction fit where the o-ring is being compressed slightly to fit into the case. This reduces bounce already but a softer o-ring will still bounce a bit more than a harder one. However because softer o-rings are thicker, they are harder to squeeze into the case and harder to pull out.
ok think about it like this
the smaller number of the #a is a softer oring
gummy oring mount boards have like half circle posts around the case where the orings sit
gummy oring is suppose to give a bouncy feel
now if you think about it, the softer the oring the bouncier but the harder the less bouncy
so 30a is soft, 50a is medium (between), and 70a is hard.
Yeah what we all said
Gosh I love explanations
Sorry I meant hardness
So 30a is best bounce + so thick that it’s hard to pull it out of the case
In contrary, 70a is hard and 0 bounce but very thin so it’s easier to pull it out
ya
Less bounce, not 0 bounce but yes
I still don’t know what to take xD. I’ll probably stick with buying 30a and 50a and try them both
Since the harder orings are well, hard
they compress so its much easier to pull out as it wraps around the module more tighter
Exactly
Then the softer will most likely no be tight around the pcb so leave more « air/space » for the pcb to bounce / move / breathe
yaya

35a vs 50a vs 65a
yes (well gray is 60a)
Actually gray is 65a and 30a is 35a. Updated

valo
checking up on friends
gonna change rq and do some stuff before i start playing
i tried to get him to play CS but he didnt want to pay the $15
i thought a lot of awpers werent quite used to subtick or whatever yet
remembered seeing there was a match where in all of the rounds the awpers missed every second shot or something but might be mistaken
why
idk
im a marshal and op demon in valorant so just transfer my shit into the awp
literally the awp is the only gun i use in that game
I don’t think they aren’t used to it, I think the game is just really messed up atm as far as shooting mechanics go
Everything just feels wrong
my awpy wopy
based off this post i would think there wouldnt be issues on LAN https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/16jmhe5/a_graphical_example_of_why_subtick_is_better_and/
but im sure that aspect of it is just gett ironed out still
for some reason i find the latency/desync/offset analyses interesting even though i havent touched cs since playing jb, surf, and bhop with friends when i was young
there is a LOT they have to get ironed out
guns feel completely useless when spraying
there is seemingly random latency when jumping
hitboxes not lining up
et cetera
unfortunately its not just subtick weirdness
ok this is getting off topic for the channel
Hello, does anyone know if there is a difference between PCB on 60HE ISO and ANSI besides the switch plate?
Yes. The obvious difference - The switch locations and number of switches
looking for someone who can help me through the whole process of a complete 60he mod, i want to keep it within budget but still be of good quality, any help is much appreciated thanks
depends on what exactly you want to do, there is a million possible mods to do for it
well i really dont know much about custom keyboard stuff since ive put all my knowledge into pc parts and mice/mouse pads, not even really sure where to start in terms of what brands and materials are best for modding/building keyboards
But when completely disassembled without switch plate, switches and stabilizers, looking only at the PCB, on videos the hole positions seem identical, is it like that in reality or am I deeply mistaken? Thanks for replying!
They are not identical
i am very glad i am not big on iso layout keyboards
Okay thank you for clarification!

I don't even know when module sales go up
