If you irreversibly affect the physical hardware that causes it to break, that's on you. Warranty covers defects in workmanship and any problems during shipping
Taking it apart and putting it back together, adding some foam, that kind of thing, doesn't impact warranty. Doing something like a tape mod doesn't impact warranty, unless the tape you use leaves residue behind that borks the PCBA traces, etc.
For that reason use painters tape for tapemod
M2 (2mm x 6mm) Pozi Countersunk Machine Screw (Bolt) - Stainless Steel (A2) (Pack of 20) https://amzn.eu/d/8hzyEmW
Will these work for burger mount ?
makes sense
So like if you are gonna change PCB don't do it
I mean do mods on it
But mods on keeb itself shouldn't be an issue
Other than usual tapemod
Is dielectric grease on PCB warranty void?
Did it fry the PCB? Then yes.
If not, no.
Its non-conductive shouldnt affect anything
Time to grease up my PCB
The mantra "You break it, you buy it" applies hard here. As long as you follow guides and you're careful, you should be fine.

Do note that warranty is on a per-part basis. If you paint your case white then that would void the warranty on the case (irreparable physical change) but would have no impact on the PCBA warranty
Just keep the PCB submerged in mineral oil (obligatory "not serious")
Okay that is GREAT
Also you guys sell cases only
Yes look for Alumaze60
Not the plastic ones, except for specific case-by-case basis such as a valid warranty claim
W for wooting!
Ah heck, I need one so bad (If Nyumi doesn't sell me her extra)
Pick up an Alumaze60 😉
I need plastic one
For its form
I mean I plan to custom paintjob it
And custom weight mount
I wish some people would sell them (dms open ofc)
I will later
anyone know which screws go where with a redux case?
can't find an install guide online anywhere
Ehh... no harm in asking here.
It's a Wooting compatible product after all. 😄

Will these work for burger mount ?
my boy just got sat down ! xD
Ay are there warranty for screws or wooting plastic case? 🤣

Holy based warranty policy
Also anyone here tried mlv sound dampening?
If you need a replacement screw just DM @bronze grove directly with your address and he will mail you out a single screw. It should arrive in 3-5 weeks.
Do I have to pay for shipping and whatever
Yes $19.95 domestic ground. Per screw

Whats the wootings polling rate
1k im pretty sure
Jdndndn
polling rate in keyboards
yea
I can understand in mice
goes from 2ms to 1ms
depends a but
but
bit
sude i hadte pohne keub
i hate phone keybaord
not that big of a difference but it does somehow actually feel noticable at times
who even needs 4k hz
i seriously doubt 4khz actually makes like any difference
No one "needs" anything above something that just works
all these features are just nice to haves
i suppose so but for the most part anything above 1000 is not ever going to have a real difference
also 💀
Osu is legit just a shortcut to RSI
Bye bye fingers
Worse than even geometry dash lmao
honestly its fine if your technique isn't garbage
almost twice
i play mania not standard
so im “alright”
probably doesn't help
fair
I think I got close on Geometry Dash to getting RSI
now the only problem is fucking eyestrain
i can vibro my fingers for 2 minutes straight
and i play stamina
so the ceiling for finger abuse is heigh
i should be fine
DAMN, pc plates coming oct5? sheeee
bro
u an mc player or smth
crippling arthritis
Used to
What’s the point of this? Lol. You have a very small desk or something?
Seems so painful and unnecessary. But whatever works for you bro lol
One way to get limb issues
thats basically the same colors that i use
That hurts to look at
side print, cuh
Never seen side print before?
with north face LED, RIP
my monitor is in my face so it helps if i have to look lol
@mental hemlock
noo f idea
I talked with kbdfans I said can I get replacement feets they send it
2 black leather straps made, anyone might want one?
It's not the best but depends if you are in EU
Sadge
It's the same size as original strap, can be resized. And not perfect
Just plain leather stra
strap
Treated leather, black
It's plain tanned leather dude
What else did you expectM
?
It's high quality leather, very high quality
The guy is like 400year leatherworker family

You want it?
Can get corners treated as well
Don't have board yet sadly
1-3 days (weekend)
Tho I will probably shorten the strap
Due to it being as long as take control strap
and maybe get wider one due to other reasons
But in the end it costs me very low, basically using scraps
Cost is low, same reason why I want it small
Can get different thickness but this seems okay
Is the new Pc plate coming with screw in stabs option?
What are some good stabilizers for this keyboard?
You'd need a PCB that supports it as well.
So... you'd need to buy the 60HE module.
Any black sleeved cable recommendations (without a coil) ?
Ooh ok gotcha!
Soooooo since I can’t use screw in stabs, what are some good sounding plate mounted stabs that you recommend the most?
The stock stabs are great!

and who makes quality cables
Anyone not making low quality cables

What's your cable budget?
uh dont know the range
under 50 would be nice
even though that's kinda thunderbolt money
Honestly for straight cables, you'll be fine with almost anything under 6ft/2m that isn't bottom of the barrel.
Which the 60HE comes with.
but yellow...

If you want something a little more premium and different. I have this cable and it works great https://wiredinstore.com/products/nightcrawler-v2-pre-order
Nightcrawler V2 is our second take on black 8-core cabling. Due to our high bar for quality, we were not happy with the thickness of traditional IEM cabling. Therefore, we had thick 8-core cabling specially made in matte black. It is difficult to see in pictures but is very noticeable when compared to IEM cabling or w
@mental hemlock if I didn't know better I would think you have borderline turrets.
Module when? i need it, current keyboard on way out and only going wooting on the next but need the module
gotta look nice tho
Pre-order before end of Oct.
ill be a happy boy then
if it would be super easy to find those I wouldn't have asked
bro 130 dolar lol
I said it was premium
not a fan of those weird quick connectors things
but yeah guess i gotta be happy with some weird amazon cables
oh didnt see make sense
You can have it good, fast or cheap. Pick two
Maybe futuree why noty
Does the Wooting PC plate on the official wooting store have the same thickness as the stock aluminum plate?
aluminum?
its steel
it aint no aluMINium
Sorry, the steel stock plate
Yes same thickness
ughhhh
im trying to wirebalance again
i cant get it right
everytime it seem straight i flip to the other side
its warped
unlucky, bro
i need helppp
sounds like you need an overpowered slab of alu to fix wires
alternatively just use your phones screen, and two pens to twist the wire ends
yeah im doing that
but how do i get it straighten
cus again every time i do one side
the opposite affect is on the other
I've never gotten both sides to sit perfectly even, so I just lay the flattest side parallel to the PCB
🙏
You don't need my opinion but if you're asking, while I believe you should always try and support the original creators/artisans, I understand it's not always possible. If there is a cap that you absolutely love and can't find or afford, do whatever makes you happy.
Bought a steelseries QcK M mousepad
i just noticed i bought a Medium
wanted a large but i dont got the receipt since i paid in cash
welp
thinking of getting https://keebmat.com this
One of the new keycaps I’ve made 😈
You should have warned me sooner
I think the biggest trap is buying different colourways for the same sculpture. If you can control the temptation then it should go a long way to ward off the FOMO.
Nice work on the new cap

Thanks
This is the way
are they planning on going lighter than L45? I bought the L50 springs when they were available so I'm using that now, but I think the L45 switches are not worth it for me bc the diff would be too small.
ok so did some digging in chat log, we need L30 and L25 switches pls! 😄
for awesome comfort
i hope L45 isn't the lightest, gateron has 35CN in their lineup, we should at least hit that mark!
I’d like some lighter switches too
They are currently working on selling variety packs of springs I believe
look at all these boomers with their heavy switches
probably use 80g mice too
yikes
lol jk

yeah 45 def more comfortable than 60 for me. i don't desire for lighter but would be curious to try
l45's so good
ty wooting
ill give you a handsome $2 tip if you let me buy that variety pack early

😂 i have the gateron ks20 which are 50cn i think bought them thinking they were the lekker 45s !!
not put them on yet kinda putting me off now knowing that i got the wrong ones
I'm just waiting for switches that can heat/cool, as well as massage my fingers. Make it happen, Wooting

lighter than l45 switches sounds abhorrent to me but to each their own i guess
also has anyone else had the experience of the 60he acting weird after modding it until you unplug and replug it once or twice?
i just had a very interesting issue where even on the lowest brightness settings it would slowly fade back up to the max brightness value over like 5 seconds
every time i clicked save it would go back down to zero and then go right back up
very weird
stopped happening after power cycling twice though
in previous modding sessions ive had stuff like certain keys not working, profiles not working, and all kinds of stuff
interesting behavior but it never seems to persist after a couple power cycles
reset your keyboard
like i said the issue did not persist after unplugging and replugging it
so as far as i know no need to do anything
i just thought it was interesting and was wondering if anyone else say anything similar
reset as in in the settings
What kind of mods, anything crazy outside of lubing; filming etc?
yeah I actually wonder if people will all like the 40 actuation switches on that upcoming razer - they're just racing towards 5 actuation at this point lol, it's becoming the new 'dpi' stat
what i just did was putting a layer of mlv at the bottom and also a 0.75 mm sheet of pe foam on pcb
I do think people confuse bottom out force and starting actuation though, since they see cherrys have 45 or whatever starting actuation and don't realize it's bottom out is actually 60-65
is there a reason to do so considering that there is no issues?
wait you are telling us you have issues and now you saying you dont :S
\
save your current profiles and just reset it its nothing major just gives you a fresh start
well then there is an issue as most of us do not have that problem :S
you asked the question we are just suggesting things to try help
i appreciate the attempt
can you send a screenshot of your settings ?
?
brother i am telling you there is no issue at this moment that i need to be fixed
Damn I need to add some kind of grip tape to my board bottom it will not stop sliding across my desk, what works best
Anyone had much experience with the 2he?
Sorry, are the springs not sold separately any longer, only the Linear45 switches?
Correct
We've retired the L50 loose spring bag in favour of an upcoming mix pack with several springs to choose from.
Souds great, thank you!
Jesus
1.7kg for metric people
The part they don’t talk about with modding is your keyboard becomes heavy enough to be a weapon
Weight helps remove bad frequency soinds
Presuming this is stock case, try placing an old mousepad underneath. If that works you could buy a 60% deskmat.
900x400 mousepads ftw imo
Velcro
How tf does burger mount not push the USB port out of place
I haven’t even done it and my USB port feels like it’s right on the edge of what is acceptable
I haven't had any issues with the burger, and given the vertical compression, I can't imagine how it would push the USB port out
hmm well i suppose ill find out tomorrow one way or another
tbh i think that the tofu60 redux just is a bit weird with the usb hole
Definitely need a bit of patience to get a perfect alignment with the Tofu60 but it's doable
HOW
blind luck and a prayer
and that's without the burger mount?
yep
not to mention i plan to use nylon screws for burger mount
and if those break that is kind of a massive problem
With the burger you should be able to lower it and align vertically, given the padding that's added beneath the PCB
what do you mean?
it looks like its aligned vertically
well nvm
wrong direction
i suppose its aligned horizontally not vertically
still though idk how adding a rubber spacer will lower it
I've confused myself, sorry, burger is going to make it worse. The gold screw-in standoffs not sitting flat in the case, is the only thing I can think of that's causing the misalignment.
yeah i dont use the gold standoff in the centre just use to one next to the spacebar for the redux case
yep mine lines up with burger mount, its just that the screw closest to the USB C port will need to be screwed all the way or until you see it line up, the others can sit loosely
hmm mine only weight 1.57kg and i have the tofu case with the brass weight, is that your setup too ?
Is there any reason why the lekker switch is not a box stem?
Oh god. It's been years since that decision.
I'm sure Calder goes into it in some older blogs. The first prototype was box.
Wait that not how its supposed to look
Did you try just placing it without screws?
Ive tried burger mount and it fitted fine its just a little harder to fit into the holes
Im currently gummy mounting it so no screws needed
Just addes some extra pads on screw holes and the poles on the side of the case to make it not sink
The same pads that comes included with the case
What case foam are you using?
Anybody use pe switch pads over the foam mod?
hey, i actually make stacked acrylic cases but i reckon the shipping would prolly cost more than the case itself lol
Nah fuck a HE switch pad IMO
They said no L30s in the variety pack, so L45 might be lightest. They may do L40, who knows. Boo!
!!. Please super light switches!! I think you guys should go for extremes for customers. Super light and very heavy, just so people know if they like it. I think the safe spots of 45-70 is a little boring.
ooo nice
some people have small hands/lighter fingers so it doesn't bother them (like myself).
other people have giant trunks so they might want heavier.
60*
well, i'm assuming variety pack is going over 60, so i safely guess 70 lol
Hell yeah lol
On a flat aluminum case

I actually love that lol
Now I’m obsessed

for a more thocky space bar would you guys not put foam under it? reason i ask is because im using the tofu 60 case with the stock foam and the foam doesnt reach all the way down to the bottom so half the keys on my bottom row doesn have foam between the pcb and the case
https://tr.aliexpress.com/item/1005005455742097.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.77d4406aN3XrMg&mp=1&gatewayAdapt=glo2tur I saw this spacebar on aliexpress you can check them if you want really interesting product
That’s a good point. Can’t wait for my poly fill to show up
yeah it be interesting to see how your sound
nUmphy is great
Yeah I’ll play around with some stuff once it shows up
Still might keep the little stock foam insert in the brass weight cutout spot (since I didn’t get the brass)
Redux vs stock vs poly
Maybe even mix and match
Doubt that would be best tho
Should be here tomorrow
I muted mine with foam because it sounded weird
official website is cheaper
That’s interesting. Nice
Oh damn
might be but they dont ship my country
and chery black has 1 stock on their website
Not the best but looks good to me
Nice. 😎
actually looks cool can we get a sound test ?
do you guys have to relube your stabs each time you take off the key cap ?
it seems like each time i take the keycaps off it strats to rattle ever so slightly and i then have to re lube, or maybe ive not put enough lube on in the first place
Have not lubed my stabs yet
stock lube is good but on mine , i decided to re lube them and they feel and sound so much better
thats looks boos !
Peciate it
i like the keycaps, i have a cycle 7 pre ordered on group buy and looking for a pastel theme keycaps set, what set is that you have?
Might just get the module tho so will see.
yep switches are next on my list but i need to find the time first haha
Yeah the new lube job is hella better than my old one so I’m happy for now
Idk i got this one chick who found them on esty and i actually was feeling them so i bought it and they feel n sound nice only thing i gotta do to my keyboard is lube the switches but imma buy a lube station thing to hold everything
the lubing station does look good through, which one are you getting @real island ?
ive already blown far too much money on this hobby so why not more !! xD
I got no clue tbh i want something actually useful not just expensive but like useful
I can hear the sound of the steel plate 😔
already ordered a replacement steel one
id have to take them out before i do any mods or opening up the keeb
cus once i do it just rattles
You havent lubed your stabs yet, you good
Why wouldn't you unfuck your stabs?
Divinikey is insane with shipping times jesus
Lolz
Does anyone know if kineticlabs seal keycaps set (cherry mx profile) fit the wooting 60he?
Why not
Tried swapping it out for mlv which I thought might be a bit thick but the USB port is in the same position as it was with the stock foam on the redux
Pretty much, mine was the same until I added a thick piece of mlv
My burger mount o rings are supposed to be shipped in the next few hours so we’ll see if I can make it work
It was too high even with no screws, foam, or anything else
I do really like the sound of the mlv though
pretty much the same except mods added a bit of weight
where did you get those? I made my own from cut silicon pads, it worked but i'd like to try real ones
Stock wooting foam or stock redux foam?. I'll be out of cell service for the rest of the weekend but if you used the stock wooting foam and didn't separate the top layer of the foam, it's likely too thick and pushing up on the PCB and that might be why your USB isn't quite low enough. Also I have seen 2 people now post about their redux not being perfectly. The case or something is slightly warped and that might also cause your PCB not to sit right.
yeah i have it is
Do the l45s have the cherry profile interference?
is it easy to clean? or need to wipe real hard
yeah damp cloth will do
stock redux foam
also has anyone tried using the nylon screws to attach the plate to the pcb?
im wondering if i should go ahead and swap those screws as well
do we have any info on the release date for the bare pcb?
They said on the livestream end of october pre-order will go up
ye I just saw it in the other channel
do we have any estimates for cost?
Expect similar price as a 60HE once you add switches.
just switches or switches + keycaps and stuff
ofcourse it has diffs
Methinks, the act of anointing the L60 switches with a liberal amount of lubrication hath wrought a transformative influence upon them. It hath hushed their clamor and granted a velvety ease to the press, much like the gentle whisper of a breeze through the ancient trees of Lothlórien.
more smooth more playable
haha !! so i guess worth lubing then with 205 yeahj ?
my engilish grammar left the chat
In the chronicles of my own experience, I verily declare that the endeavor of anointing it with the sacred 205 G0 lubricant was indeed a venture of worth.
tldr; hand lube = worth
really doubt that, drunkdeer has a metal plate minus the stem wobble and it has so much less "plastic" noise
bro it's already smooth as shit
the 75?
lubing won't make a graph like this better 😹
yea
yea bigger case
will sound much lower pitched etc
also I think it is an alu plate
not steel
yea alu sounds completely different from steel
but modded drunkdeers have zero plasticy sound whilst almost every wooting mod i've found still sounds pretty mediocre
how many wootings with other plates have you heard
regardless i'd be surprised if the switch wobble made zero noise
why would stem wobble not
because it doesn't really happen much while pressing
yea sure you will angle it one way
but when pressing on it will just stay that way
or shift in one way
housing wobble is noisy cause you stem will slam against the top housing
which will then rattle around
when you press it, the stem will align with the rails but that aligning can make a noise
also it does the same thing when it returns
why would it make a noise

like I said
happens in one direction
once
while pressing
you don't hear that
same with realigning
you don't hear any linear when you're pressing
?????
unless it's a clicky switch
wtf are you on about

akko HE
gross
there's no noise when you type on the 60he
lol
there's only bottom out
well not only
but the loud deep noise you hear, i'm pretty sure is
he's slamming that g down for bottom out sound
point is that when ur pressing it makes no noise, only when you return or bottom out
that's all the noise
in a linear switch
yea and loose housings come into play on top out
until you tap it
recording of it is absolutely horrible

it will shift in the direction you pressed it in and that shift probably makes noise
"probably"
and the same shift happens when the switch returns
i can't isolate the sound
maybe i could but idk how
no you can't
cause if you press offcenter to tilt it
you just slide it down at an angle
doesn't matter
in actual use
i don't press straight up and down
you will just feather your finger on it
that is not during use though
the same thing is happening when you type
nobody types straight up and down
that clack is the switch aligning with the rail
that is a different thing though
it will just happen at a lesser extent
cause people also don't type by pressing the corner
I mean there’s situations where I can do things to make a displeasing sound or feeling. And I tweak out about it. But then I use it and I forget about it
Holy god that sounds so hollow
Hollow, thin and plastic lol
Hmm
is that with burger mount ?
yes
by some miracle it still works
typing on it rn
did you tighten the screw thats nearest to the usb all the way down ?
i tried to quite a bit
hmmm can you linke the size of the o rings you used ?
mine works fine i will send photo in a few mins
oh wait apparently i got the 4x1.0x1.5 variant instead
no thats right i have the same
yeah so they should be the same height
alternatively the top two screws you could just do half burger mount i doubt it will make much of a siff
i think i didn't tighten that screw enough
did you get longer screws as well ?
i did but i clipped and sanded them down to size
the stock screws and the wooting screws wont work as they are too short
i got ones that were way too long and cut them to the right size
they should be perfect as far as size goes
lol ok so not the screw problem then
hmm thast strange how much foam do you have in ?
im a little hesitant to tighten that screw too much as a broken nylon screw could be a massive issue
if you sued the wooting foam you need to pull off the smaller piece
i have a thick layer of mlv that is definitely not helping
oh dang nylon screws i got metal ones
yeah thats might be the problem try with the redux foam or one piece of wooting foam see how that loos
you might not like the feel and sounds though
welp the head of that screw is stripping before it tightens enough
whatever it works im just gonna leave it
it holds on to that usb c cable a bit tight
lol
pro tip: misalign your keyboard to hold on to the usb cable tighter
haha lets get a sound test then !!
i sent mine a few days ago not sure if you where here
yeah i had to lube my space bar a few times tbh
yeah there is a lot of stab tuning and stuff that i need to do
a lot of them are rattling
yeah more lube and bandaid mod might help !
yeah ! i still have the stock place and it already sounds really nice to me im going to invest in the module with pc plate once that releases
so cool! i would buy this
do you have any discount code?
dang that cablke is £107 !
fully works with the wooting 100% rgb p pressume
It’s already out
Show pic of whole keyboard
beige keycap always hit hard
for the stock stabs do we have to clip them ?
For the stock wooting? They pretty much just slide into place with little to no force
yeah i see the 2 prongs that can be clipped but they are not raised like normal cherry ones so was just wondering
Ahh yeah, Wooting's are flat. When it comes to stabs I pretty much stick to Cherry; cheap and reliable. I'll probably use them for the Module
But it's the best cable I've ever seen so i need to buy it 😃
space cables are better
which one?
those are good, but I like iem braided cable
they have braided cables iirc
mochis cables also has some
The only thing I dislike about Space Cables is the heatshrink used on the USB connector. Solid plastic is cleaner imo
Try switch tape mod. Reduces top out sound
why?
Just want to see it
uh okay
just wooting 60he with blank keycaps
same everything else
that's my endgame but i'm not tryna spend 50 bucks on a case
😭
well yeah but they aren't shipping just yet
yeah i think cuz no foam under the space bar (stock 60he foam in redux) space bar little vocal
will try again with that poly fill tomorrow or monday
ok this is a guess but were you spamming the same keys and pressing the spacebar at a random time
haha i wasn't spamming same keys
lol
lol
lol i like it
sorry to disappoint you
i mean its not like horrible
it's not great
but it's better than it was
ok personally i think it sounds worst than stock "stock"
oh ok. i've disappointed everyone

haha what about this
my mic was right up against the keeb first time
Chatter
hmMmMmMmm
still dissapointed
you didnt do any mods beside switching case right?
i will forgive you just a tiny bit
Same
interesting
did you order stuff?
are you waiting for them?
no burger mount?
no i don't buy that stuff yet
y not
I will do that too
cuz will when switch pc plate
waiting for module pricing
lolol
oh shi
if it's wrong, i keep this pcb and then mod and buy PC plate
a little bit less than full built if including switches
watch that shit bouta be like 50
bruh it might be like $100 low key
Yeah at this point I have everything to make an entire second keyboard lol
and screw in stabs are attractive
so yeah if module pricing is right, then i'll buy, and burger mount and lube everything
then hopefully i will earn everyones respect

and then buy the tirade suggested sexy ass $130 cable
and then leave this discord and sail off in to the sunset

DZ60 PCB is $55 fwiw
No the module itself
for hot swap 60% pcb
Not Hall effect
ah ok

They did say that price wouldn't be much cheaper if you bought switches
Well it def is the most expensive part
yeah i get it
$20 for plate and the 2 pcb foam
im betting the pcb cost like 50
so ig 70
idk
iso users?
they havent figure out how to make pc plate for iso
iso layout ugly
i agree
but like im just sayin that iso is prob the reason why the module is not release yet
thats my guess
sooo yeah
fuck iso
Like come on how are you going to make the enter key big and then minimize the left shift key
ay yoooo
You'd have to stretch your pinky more

they stopped cooking bro
You know what's starving?
My wallet
man I want the zoompad just to have the zoompad
if it looks cool I want it
anddddd most of the colors are already gone
I want wooting to grow more
we need competition

this is the video where they talk about the swap away from the box stem
@ 24minutes
they tossed the box when they went to gateron cuz gateron already had the magnet switch production
cuz the old factory couldn't make the housing hotswappable compatible like they needed
yeah full existing gateron switch design they just changed aesthetics and spring.
so yeah the PCB is the wooting IP
the switches are full gateron.
yeah like for there ever to be a tactile HE for wooting, it would have to be gateron caring to make it lol
old ones used to have two holes in the bottom housing too
new ones are less loud and more bassy
so we definitely have an improved switch from the old box stem design lol
damn original goal of lekker edition was to be able to fund the custom lekker switch
but they realized they're not good at producing switches, so they left that part to gateron
... for now
they been working on lekker edition for like 5 years now
that's crazy
I didn't realize analog input was such a top priority

Because analog better for gaming

bruh
i'm clueless
lol fk me
i know nothing about this analog input
They’re good with being inventive atleast
time to mod my wootility
Nice support team too
right
yeah it's killer company
i just learned so much lol
and now i need to learn about analog hehe
I only got into keyboards because my membrane kb wasnt cutting it
crap did not feel good
well making switches is tough, i've heard of companies' products going to shit after they make their own switches
50 is on the cheap side
Yeah there’s been a lot of attempts at making switches and most of the times they’ve had issues down the line
Anyone done much modding with the 2HE?
gl finding anything good under 150 lol
Other than keycaps I douvt
It's not made for moddinz
Figured as much, Ive never dabbled in modding a keyboard. Was hoping there might have been the odd case out there for them
Only case for 2HE is custom one
anyone tried PC plate on wooting60he ? how does it sound like
Is there a file available for that?
no
well i think i might have to do one then
that list is going to be quite long
I think there might be on https://github.com/WootingKb/wooting-design/tree/main/wooting-two-he
we will almost certainly not release a custom 2he case
the reason being that it would only be usable by our customers and there is just a too small intersection between 2he customer and modding their keyboard
if the fullsize market would have a more standardized layout for case screws to the pcb like the 60% we could most likely do it but thats a pipe dream
Yeah thats cool
How much work is involved in the design process? Like making the file in the link above? A family member would be able to get one milled, but if I was to go down that route Id rather match the profile on the alumaze
You take measurements, you design and rethink the design cause you're working with a different material, you mill it and pray it works.
Rinse repeat until you have something functional. It could get expensive without a trained designer and miller.
the main challenge you will have is the stand off and some of the thin ribbing
and that youre basically confined to the general case layout and angle
you could only really add more to the outside
Well, a professional designer is certainly something I'm not 🤣 Oh well, maybe one day
there's an anodized aluminum case on aliexpress for 50 bucks
that's what i have my eyes on rn
it's really the only one i care about anyways cause for some reason every other 60% case is like 2 feet off the desk
Wooden case would take about ummm 150-200€ I guess
To design or to design and make?
are there any plans for a pc with usb-c daughterboard? to fit more 60% cases?
Design and make, simple wood one is 200€ or so
PC with usbc daughterboard?
Wym
Ah fair enough, I hadnt looked into wood tbf
It's easiest with wood as far as I know
jst-cable, to change the location of the port
You can handchisel it if needed
No, the port stays there always
Due to requiring rewiring as far as I know
Do you know of any reputable vendors?
There is not.
ok thx 🙂
None, only custom made from custom keeb makers which would cost prolly thousands
I spent 100€ on one of my old cases for full sized keeb and I had all the tools alrwady
What difference does a different cable actually make if any
the wooting detacheable cables allows for 100% rgb and tachyon at same time
Tachyon?
Tachyon Mode
Whats that lmao
PC plate is not even finish with production yet lmao
POM plate taylor made at SM kb ordered, i hope it will fit well
it does fit
its made specifically for the wooting
i also took the mounting screw kit from KBDFans, i guess it's mandatory
Anybody got recs for a lube station
your desk
your dirty deskmat you hide under the clean one
I gotta stay organized or I'll lose some shit
go for a big one then
was looking at the kbdfans one, holds 45 at a time
That's good
It holds 35 it was false advertisement
I mean still big either way
Yeah I'll probably get it either way, was looking at the whole glorious kit but all the reviews are about how the lube shows up exploded
ima just use some bowls nvm
Yeh and a nice big work area and it’s plenty of space
Get two
tofu redux case, lubed and filmed switches, black pom plate, abs caps, pe foam, keebtape, tx stabs, gummy o ring mount
It's gotta be the pom plate (mostly)
that and the lubed switches
was able to get a nice sound without the chatter but just lubing and filming
no switch tape mod
did filming them changed the sound?
what film and gummy o ring did you use ?
yeah if you use poron ones it cleans up the sound of the switches and makes them a bit deeper/muted
geon poron films and 30a bakeneko ring
thanks i felt the lekker a bit rattly, i just ordered gateron magnetic orange ones just to try out, i'll give a try to the poron ones then
yeah for sure
i tried the pc ones too from wuque studios but it makes the switch louder and the plastic sound is more emphasized
yeh i have the pc from wuque studios
it sounds better than stock but not as ncie as yours
just ordered black POM plate from SM kb yesterday, hoping for the best now 😄
have to pay 25 dollars shipping for geon films sadge
nice i ordered the plate in black cause i don't use rgb lmao
fucking brexit have to order 200 dollars worth of stuff for shipping
i just use white static low light through my cerakeys, i dont mind about RGB either
damn, maybe there are other poron films that aren't as expensive?
i think any poron could work as long as they don't have the rectangle cutout for the led
yeh ill have a look but pretty content with how mine sounds atm
ooh I didnt think about using poron films
Im using pc
AYYYYY 30a
W
mines sound the same but more poppy
and the films fit the lekker switches ok ?
for the gummy ring mod do you have to remove the foam between the switch and pcb ?
no fitting issues with the geon films? bought tx films but if those bring that sound I have no problem losing 10 bucks lol
the geon films warp a little bit but they work fine
nah you can keep the plate foam on
By the way did you used the mounting screw kit from KBDFans for your POM plate?
"M2-3 Countersunk Flat Head screw kit"
when having the gummy o'ring surrounding the module
the pcb foam will compress over time (only on the outside)
it should not create any problems
might be a dumb question but can you do burger mount with the gummy o ring or would it not really make a difference
no
if you do so then whats the point of having the gummy o'ring
i have no idea thats why im asking
the sound difference between the tray mount and gummy o'ring is that
the tray mount give out an unbalance sound while the gummy oring spread the sound evenly
by tray mount you mean you burger mount im assuming
tray mount as in screwing the module down to the case
so yes burger mount included
with the gummy o ring you dont screw it down?
no its friction fit
normal gummy mount keyboards sit on top of a half circle edge block with the pcb having cut outs for the oring to sit on
this gives a more softer and bouncier typing feel
but if you use gummy o'ring for a tray mount type keeb then all you do is have the module friction fit in the case, it doesnt really bounce since there's not cutouts on the pcb and nothing for the oring to sit on sooooo
alright last question, what does have the module friction fit in the case mean? just drop it in the case no?
they have to fit tight together
May you clarify the question
I don't understand
You mean "How does friction mount work?"
i guess yeah
or What does friction mount mean?
i mean how do you do it, just put the module into the case without screwing anything in?
or "How do you friction mount?"
and just hope they fit snug together?
the case and the module im talking about
im just gonna stick to burger mount since i understand whats going on there
You take the gummy o'ring and wrap it around the module
You slide the top side module into the case while having the bottom out
you press in or take a card and slide the oring in to have the module fit snug into the case
after all this it shouldnt fall out
The Tofu, the mechanical keyboard that everyone has heard of. Love it or hate it, the tofu has cemented itself as one of THE beginner boards within the hobby. With more and more options for beginners popping up, can it still be relevant? With this mod utilizing a Gummy O Ring and a special PCB, I genuinely think it still holds its place as a gre...
If the wooting pcb has cutout for oring mount then we would have hella of a good bounce
yea i did
thx i ordered it too with gateron magnetic orange set, may be the pom stem will be less lose on them
That screw kit is just to mount the plate to the pcb right? You would still use the regular screws to mount the module to the case?
yeah
gonna do the same black Pom plate instead of the pc plate then
i have the silicone wrist rest and can see my hand mark where i place my hands for WASD 😦
i think the oils from my hand left the mark cant even wash it off now
Is there a switch film that fit the Wooting switches ?
Also where Can i buy gummy o rings for burguer mount ?
Anybody got a good black on the outside grey on the inside key cap set by chance
Having a hard time finding anything good
i could probably find something on aliexpress
or maybe a solid black side print set
hmmmmmm
Where Can i buy o rings for burger mount, and also what switch films fit the Wooting switches ?
Pls
can't say for o-rings but Geo poron films seems ok
That is called ticking
Most probably because of the stabilisers
Try holee mod or something similar for a temporary fix
Its literally my worst nightmare
Yeah my keyboard sounds very good I lubed all the switches + specebar stabilizers (others ones comes very well lubed as stock so I just didn’t touch it), the only bad thing is the space bar.. my Keycap is flat, lubbed the wire + the housing .. idk
It’s like the same sound as a spring not lubed but it is lubed actually
It's the steel plate causing the metallic ping/resonance
So it’s not my fault right
I need an update on that pc plate cause of this 😩
My stabs lubed still ticks
