I mean thock isn’t created
It’s funneled
Well any sound is created at the switch
Everything else is about channeling the sound waves
kinda want some other opinions first tho, if its fine having the wooting foam along with the tofu foam in the redux
do let me know if anyone reading this has a redux
Well it’s fine until it’s not fine lol
Acrylic cases arent really a great choice for deeper sound though if thats what you're after.
If the keyboard is working fine and continues to work fine after long sessions, then you should be good. Even though the heat generation is low, things like LED's and IC's do get hot when being used, especially at bright LED's and faster settings.
purple Tofu60 with led heat marks after a years use. This wasnt with a 60HE PCB, but the same principal applies
Damm
oh shittt
yea lol imma take the extra foam out
not worth risking the keyboard just for some sound improvement
Try adding the wooting foam by itself and you can use the piece you ripped off the top to fill in the battery cavity if you didnt get the brass weight
ah i have the brass weight
so that wont work
maybe ill use the wooting foam instead of the tofu foam
Then just use the 60HE foam, you dont need the extra
cause the tofu one is really thin
yeah
i think ill still need to squeeze it a bit
cause the screws arent raised like they are on the wooting case
I skipped the brass weight cuz I was scared it would be too heavy actually. But wondering if maybe I should have got it just to experiment with .
Guess I’ll figure out once redux arrives
nah the case is really heavy to begin with
You might even like it better with just the 60HE foam. I dont even use foam in my aluminum cases, I usually use fiberfill
i wouldnt recommened brass weight
You installed the standoffs right?
You can use the 60HE screws too. Same thread/pitch size
Right on ok yeah that’s kind of what I was thinking. Like I still want to be able to move it around but just never move while I’m gaming
oh it wont move without the brass weight
dont worry
🥰
yeah i used the 60he screws to screw the keyboard into the case
didnt have to use the ones that came with the case
Stock one barely moves so that’s what I figured. Thanks
👌
Im trying to save folks money all the time. So much wasted on unneeded mods because some guy on youtube gets referral link $$ to suggest products they used that cured keyboard cancer
tbh, the tofu foam itself is so thin, i think its just that the wooting foam is too thick which is why we need to squeeze
if i install the wooting foam by itself, there wont be the same risks? or will the chances of any damage be just reduced a bit
cause there is still a need to squeeze

The wooting foam is open cell and squishy, you'll be ok if thats all youre using
alright, thanks 👍 ill see how much difference there is with and without the tofu foam
and ill update you
I like to record before and after so that I dont have placebo affect when doing a/b comparisons
alright got the wooting foam in and the tofu foam out
live review
sound is noticeably different compared to both foams in
albeit, not a massive difference
screwing it in was SLIGHTLY easier, still had to push a bit
all in all, not much difference to having the tofu foam in by itself
What thickness foam did you order?
got a sound clip to share? would love to hear 😄
didnt order any, i was using both the stock wooting and the thin foam that comes with the tofu
Ah, okay, thank you for clarifying that
havent ever recorded a sound test, is it fine with my phone?
if so ill record and send within a few hours
yea thatd be fine! thanks
Yeah I used switch pads and tx films they work
Where would i find films that fit? i had a set but it didnt fit.
There arent any that fit off the shelf. Some fit better than others but none fit perfect. You can 3d print some though
Are your switch housing wobbling?
recorded using my phone, not 100% accurate to irl sounds
it certainly could be better
the keypresses after 11 seconds start from top row and comes down to spacebar row by row
especially after opening them up for lubing and such
@stray tiger what do you think?
thanks for sharing!
I actually dont like the sound with both foams. Sounds very muted
i think wooting foam only is best of both sides
Keep in mind, sound preference is super personal. Someone else might love the sound with both 🙂
i like both foams sound, but its a pain to screw in so i dont wanna risk damaging anything
currently typing with on screen keyboard as i decide
I think if it takes a good amount of compression/effort to screw it in with both pieces of foam, I'd avoid that
it does, takes some fiddling to get the screw into the hole
Tx films
is there any update to the wooting module that i missed?
looked cool like a month ago but idk if anything was said about it
im waiting on that module too
Yo my 60he is incredibly smooth as stock. I’ve heard they do have new process for factory lube months ago and I don’t feel like it would improve something hand lubing it myself, I’m a bit scared of overlubing.
Any of you have receive one from recent batch / last batch and noticed the same ? Or I can go without being scared
If you are happy with your keyboard as is DO NOT DO ANYTHING. Enjoy it and save yourself the time lost on chasing ghosts
Uhhhhhhhh…. Totally didn’t just purchase a lube kit. Whoops
Proper lubing wont hurt at all! No worries there. Im just saying if the factory lubed job is great, dont feel like you need to change it
Oh I see, thank you 👍🏽 since I got the full 2 HE, should typing on the big enter and a few number keys give me a good idea if I should lube anything?
Or do I test like the home row?
I’m sorry if this seems obvious, I’ve just never purchased a nice keyboard for work before
The 2HE is actually really well lubed. Just use the keyboard like normal and see what you think
Awesome, thank you 🙏🏽
mine came like 11 days ago, it was really well lubed
i still lubed it cause i wanted to, but i dont think u need to if you're fine with the factory lube
Do you feel any difff ?
its not worth the effort unless u really really want to
not a huge difference
but noticeable, since its smoother
i love smoothness
would probably go for it then ahah
is that normal that my keyboard already thock as stock ahahah
yeah mine was too
never had a better keyboard before
the biggest difference i noticed was less scratchiness when lubed
sound wasnt too different
did u lubed only switches or stabilizers too?
only switches, but i wanna lube stabs too
my stabs were phenomenal out the box
like insanely well
didnt see the need to even touch them
still dont tbh
mine wasnt that loud, it was slightly scratchy
if you actually overlube switches they eventually even out and the excess lube goes to the bottom housing of the switches
it'll just feel a little bit sluggish for a bit after overlubing
so no need to worry
yeah thats what seems to have happened with my \\\\ switch
feels soft/silent and slightly mushy when you bottom out
then they would get stuck on the bottom housing? isnt it bad
no, it just feels kinda mushy
should i removed these overlube lube if i get to overlube it
like imagine pressing your key and when it reaches the bottom it doesnt feel solid but kinda soft
yea u can just wipe off excess lube if you aren't happy with it
also do i have to go wootility everytime i wanna swap profile? kinda hard to type ingame with rapid trigger profile tbh
removing overlube is a bit difficult though lol
if youre really concerned about overlubing just lube the stems
FN + a1 / a2 / a3
does anyone have files to a 3d printed tofu?
https://grabcad.com/library/60-case-1 this isnt a tofu but its gh60 which is usually compatible with wooting https://grabcad.com/library/60-case-1
The GrabCAD Library offers millions of free CAD designs, CAD files, and 3D models. Join the GrabCAD Community today to gain access and download!
lmfao
no promisses
this thing is at a 0 degree typing angle LMAO
Hm. Was planning to bandaid mod and maybe tape mod. Does this mean id have to redo it every year? (I never modded a keyboard before)
why would you want to 3d print a case
they're already hella cheap
unless i didn't look hard enough, the plastic tofu cases are sold out
they're acrylic, not plastic
Yea my wooting foam won’t fit in the redux case
let me look at those ones
you can just preorder and once they are available they will ship
ali express n stuff sell acrylics for ~50 dollars
and i wanted actually a plastic one for cheap
like shockport had plastic tofu cases for 15 dollars
it looks like a downgrade to me, the stock case looks better
for module if it comes out
explain yourself because you're not making any sense
wanted to get a cheap tofu case to get module to work and the cheapest case option would be plastic
or if I could 3d print one it would probably be more affordable than paying for alu or acrylic
i just spent hours on this, the wooting foam has 2 piece, seperate the two pieces and you can put the bigger piece in instead of the tofu foam
that works
Yea I jusr figured it out, now I’m having a hard time lining the usb port on the case
but module only comes with pcb
he wants this for his module
im sure u can get one for cheap on ebay
look at the screw holes to help guide you
his or hers?
i dont care
they should be visible properly, and then see
ya maybe that would work too i didnt consider that
save the money seiki lol
if ur from the benelux u can have mine for free
by buying a plastic case?
ah thanks but i live in the americas i think it's a bit far
The space bar screw is hard to screw in wyf
Wtf
my brother in christ. the module is going to cost near the amount of the wooting
save the fucking money for a redux lol or even a psd60
Dude yeag it'll cost just the same
make sure u aint doing anything wrong
Max 40€ down
The other screws go in, not the space bar one tho
i think pc and switches together would probably be like 90 or a 100 bucks
ye i used the wooting screws
How did u screw them in order
pcbs are like normally 40 / 50 bucks and if wooting decides to make it expensive on it at max itll be 70
Y’all some postulating mf’s
we sell the pcb in like if you break it for 95 usd iirc
we dont have logitech funds to mass produce
any order works
i guess the ahll ssensor pcb really making it expensive
All the screws can go in besides the space bar one wtf
an h60 from hineybush is 35 bucks :c
take it out, check everythings alright, nothing out of line
then pop it back in
try again
are u using the standoffs?
try using the one near the spacebar
dw if u miss 1 screw
its not going to walk
at least thats my opinion on it, tirade is the expert
does anyone have the new lekker switches and can anyone make a video comparing the two sounds?
You don’t care about feel? Only sound?
Plus I only have old lube job l60 vs new lube job l45’s
Not fair
L45’s better tho
@buoyant onyx
i do but no one has made a sound comparison video they only made videos on how they feel and act but not sound
Not true
what

thank you
Does this look right?
they sound almost the same no point to switch unless you want lighter
Did it
Is the port a bit off? Or is it just me
Someone double check
its a bit off its closer to the top
How do I fix it
Lol what
slightly closer to the top, still looks fine
why does it matter
It was kinda hard to plug in
im home :D
you doen't stare at it when u use your keyboard
I would consider it perfect and just never look at it again
stop saying shit that doesn't help
what we talking about
Delete that picture that’s not straight on and move on with life lol
i feel like someone here is being a dumbah
Or tighten screw. Up to you

Hole anxiety @fluid ravine
need ur help
wassup
its legit a port why should it matter
yeah your orings prob fucked
Because nothing we do here matters lol
true
And that’s the point.
u cant get it perfect
wym
its gonna move when u screw it in
Obsession for the point of obsession lol
Like I already bought a Wooting
how does it matter
I don’t need to spend another $500 to have the same Wooting lol
they have a point, if its slightly to the left or right who cares if it plugs in just fine
I’m not hating. Just saying
u aint lookin at the port when the cable is in
^
Obsessing about minutiae like this is fairly masturbatory
Same thing audiophiles and the like
it's good to know it will work well
It will lol
its still going to work well lmao
mine was slightly to the right, but cable plugs in just fine and its hard to get perfect since it moves when u screw the keyboard in
Well your o-ring this is maybe diff. I was talking mostly about the port
if u worry about this you're gonna go crazy over whether ur left side gap is larger than your right
@mental hemlock what orings and screw
gg, time for refund email wooting ASAP!
Then why you worried about where the port is located lol
u gotta push
I can’t fit
is the cable plugged into your pc?
lmfao
take the module out
plug it in and see if it works
LMAO
Only one way to make it perfect
lel
totally know waht yall are talking about
this
i did that before
just screw it in the position you want it on the desk and boom solid keyboard
tbh i tried it with no case today it sounded pretty good
before i got my gasket ring
ongg
my standoffs in my case are fucked up
…
so i couldnt do burger mount anymroe
Ong ong
Okay
Burger desk mount
LMAO
like kevone said, drill the whole keyboard into your desk
5 head
ONGGG
it wasn't plugged in?
desk mount
LEL
did you do it
Doing it now
?
Plug it in bro
you gotta push

it looks aligned, it should be fitting
doing what i told him
u kinda gotta push
Lol ok sorry. Idk but the center thing isn’t issue. Maybe it’s too far back but I don’t see that be issue either
good
Find out where the friction is
i put it in before but it didnt turn on, you gotta put it in with some force
not too much that u break the keyboard tho
make sure the pcb is still working
then try to figure out why it aint working in the case
Well sounds like they can’t plug it in
if u damage the pcb cause of ur own modding, is warranty void
and stop trying to complain the damn thing to be a few millimeters off
Like is it fully plugged in??
and call it a day
what foam are you using
The tofu foam
bro what-
The one that comes with the redux
its not required
exactly
its optional
bro that shit thin as hell
i think u are doing the same thing i was doing, you gotta push the cable in a bit
ok
I can go rn
Plug that shit in bro
Probably not that wobbly not in case
Cuz it actually goes in port
With PCB not in case?
in case
That’s whT I’m saying
Bet if plug it on not in case it’s not wobbly
In which case not plugging it in all the way in case
Something getting in the way
its cable problem then
he tried another cable and it wasnt wiggling as much as the wooting cable
if a different cable works fine then
that means its just his wooting cable sucking ass
W/L
LMAO
i never even unpacked my wooting cable
just kept using my hyperx cable from previous keyboard
i was looking for that so i can bring it for school
but hell i cant find it anywhere
found razer
but shit too big
yeah hyperx works perfectly
the yellow and black would look ass with my red build anyways
what color is ur build
i like the keycaps
thx
im going to stick with stock case for a while
so that sucks
mod for the sound
even thought i wear headphones all the time
lol
can i see
o shi
nor am i 😂
us both bro 😭
bro 🤔
maybe you oughtta take his username seriously
The fuck
idek which one
it's whateveri just thought it's funny
Ay yooo
Yeah don’t be weird
ill see which case would be cheaper for the modujle later when it comes out
?
wym
🤖
Idk seems like they have a history
reason he senmt that was cuz i wnated to get a plastic tofu 60 case
I’ll bow out
uh huh
and then..
idk they got upset at my grammar
Weird
I haven’t tried to use both it might fit
i thought my english was ass
what if you mix the foam
redux foam and big peice of the wooting foam

I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of that
Cause the tofu foam is super slim
ya
Might do some experiments tomorrow
Yeh all doesn’t
dont
?
i spent like 5 hours today bro 😭
??
Sound test with both?
yes
oh
.
i would not recommend to install both the wooting and tofu foam together
its wayy too tight
Will listen when I’m on pc
so you use half of the wooting foam?
tried with both small and big?
yes, u cant really use the full wooting foam
u gota split it
and use the bigger piefce
i dont see why u would use the smaller one
i didnt try that
Smaller wooting and tofu foam
u could try that, arent both pieces the same thickness?
then it might work, im too tired of trying so u can try and let me know Raffi
i dont even really know what it looks like
based
i would do it
I will try tomorrow as well just got off work and it’s already nearly 12pm
Come fly to london
You fly him to London^
Fish and chips are nice
ya
I would have offered but it was his suggestion not mine
lol
Got try a steak and ale and chips as well
Lol
too expensive now to enjoy properlyt
wow look at mr fancy pants here
yeah 😔
8 fucking quid
What football team you support
not really into football
Surely you at least support a team
Yikes
Korean fried chicken nice
not a instalocker
Reyna instalock ftw
nah
you dont understandddd
ur pfp isnt tenz, sorry
unless i explain it in a certain way
is it based on the jr part
ok its not that
People say I look like Micheal Jordan

LOOOK
HOLY SHIT ITS MJ
Jk I’m a 5ft 9 semi white guy
MJJJ
ONG
yeh for 25 quid
me
@fringe forge how thickly did you lube the switches
i will experiment while i watch the wire
Check out the Fractal Design Meshify Lite case here! - https://bit.ly/meshifylite
👇 PULL IT DOWN FOR THE GOOD STUFF 👇
Finally getting under the hood of the Wooting 60HE. We're gonna talk best practices for the Lekker switch, swap it into a Tofu60 case, we'll talk stabilizers, case dampening, and how to get the best sound out of your keycaps.
✅T...
this guy explains it well
to prevent overlubing
also check out the wooting lube video to also prevent over lubing
how many have u done?
i lubed mine already
all of them???
damn well
i lubed mine 3 or 4 times :>
yeh honestly i think same

if they feel alright then thats that otherwise u gonna have to open them all up and wipe excess lube off
first time i didnt lube them enough
i didnt have to wipe it off
mines not overlubed i was just wondering cause of how yours sounded
It’s alright you don’t need to apply too much lube
but its fine enough for me to put lube over it
Less is more
not with these fugging lekker switches
tbh after i changed to wooting foam today my keyboard feels different to type on
more is more now with these aholes
i hope i didnt mess anything up
more is more
Both wooting foam pieces same size @fringe forge @fluid ravine
thought so
yea i wouldnt put them together
unless u dont mind pushing the keyboard in with mad pressure and not worrying about damage later on
Yeh it’s proving pretty difficult already
gave up already
Ay yo, redux showed up
Ali Express FTW
comes with a screwdriver. That’s perfect lol
ye its cuz my country not kbdfans
I just ordered off aliexpress cuz it was cheaper
ew my wooting does not sounjd as poppy
with the tofu foam
its okay tho
like a nice change of pace
try the wooting foam but you have to peal off the top layer
that.. is there issue
so i was going to use it
Enter this mf
he made the foam go bye bye bc i left it on the floor whjile i was testing it
LMFAO
bruh is the culprit
get me one too
I just got caught up on the last 2 hours of chat in this channel and I feel dumber for it.
heh
should turn this channel to idiotic modding
Lol well it’s the only that isn’t “Wooting-Issues-Complaints”
Fk
Yeah bro. Quality content. Glad you enjoyed.

now you made me look at it-
Not worth

just made my own artisan key and im so hyped
Got a photo of your wizadry?
ill try im not good with pics lol
Made of brass
It’s the armorer from the mandolorian
Thinking about making another of mando
Well done, dude - nicely done! How long did it take? I've slowly leaned out of keyboards in general but love artisans
If you include all the time I had to spend waiting for things to cure/dry it came out to about 5 days total
Longer if you include all the time I spent doing other things in preparation
Would go up to about two weeks but if I were to make another of the same thing it would be 5 days
Now that I have everything but I don’t plan on making more to sell lol
Was planning on waiting for module but now that I have no switches, keycaps and case I might just have to put it all together
Were you tempted to try and make the eyes glow with the RGB, or maybe it does a little? I'd imagine that would be pretty hard to do to carve the insides out
nope, already hollow on the inside, i just have the rgb turned off for that key
i just prefer it without the glow 🙃
Oh yeah I see some light in the first photo
yeah pictures arent doing it justice
do u guys know why my spacebar sounds good thocky on right but like cheap switch on left
probably uneven
For every day you leave your Wooting unused, some kid is ranking higher and higher with their Wooting. Can you live with being left behind?
Have you tried working with Resin, the process looks so daunting but would love to try someday
i havent yet but it looks like a lot of fun, i have a friend whos really good at it and has her own shop, i should probably ask for some advice
no, sometimes one side of the spacebar might be lower/higher than the other
wooting has a tutorial to flatten out your spacebar
oh. is that even ppossible? its wooting keycaps
Don't mod it. Use it raw like driving a manual car; no power steering; no GPS; no radio
bro why did u expose me lol
just like my car lol
@loud zephyr
SYKE
Just for the standoffs lol damn
I went to swap out and realized I didn’t have the right screwdriver for the case whoops.
Finally got the l45’s in anyway lol
Guess I’ll swap the case once I get the screwdriver
😅
stock case, stock plate, basic aftermarket doubleshot pbt keycaps and stock lubed l45's and stock stabs.
Sounds pretty good already man!
yeah not bad eh?
Pretty smooth. The new lube job does seem improved.
liking these lighter springs too
great for gaming and no problems really when just typing
ok
1.) Sound pretty good for stock holy shi
2).MY EARSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
lol your ears why
i think the mic was picking up the rgb noises
i forgot what its called
i think it was like when you put the rgb to like 100% brightness it makes this frequency noise thing
like when you do a check up on your hearing
lol fk my bad bro
nah you good
lol bruh my audiologist said "juding by your test results, i wouldve thought you were a 60 year old man that worked in a factory his whole life"
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
i was like 30 lol
Will the Alumaze and PC Switch plate make my 60He sounds creamy?
cant confirm
have not tested
i dont think anyone has test it yet
so we dont know
insider only would know
aww, welp, put it in the cart just in case
ins1der?
well those 2 wont like make the board sound creamy like right away once you install them
which you need other mods
but who knows
i do think the pc plate will make a huge difference
yeah, been browsing all over and they all said the plate is the source of not pleasant sound
there's nothing unpleasant about the sound of performance. 😎
like employee lol
Indeed, no complaint on that
yeah its producing the high pitch sound to the 60he
after eliminating the chatter from the switch
i could literally hear the downstroke of each key being filtered through the plate
everyday
i would spam one key to my ear and be like
ah the wonderful sound of steel plate
how nice
feels nice to have a feeling maybe wooting have a new case and plate, check the web and there it is
my pc plate is coming mid oct
will send the review if no other people already posted it
or arriving to the warehouse mid oct
I don't think I will get it soon, late oct maybe
its been like a week or 2 since i placed the order
im not gonna lie
it feels like hell
idk how but i could wait for a month for the wooting 60he
but 2 weeks in for the pc plate
hell something is wrong with me
yeawh i'm gonna wait for module to realease to decide to buy PC plate or not
you're going to wait for the price drop then decide if you wanna get the module or the pc plate?
yeah
i thihnk it's more worth to just build a second 60he at this poin t
two sets of everything lol
gn bro
is this boom arm position fine?
i really need a tutorial on this
watching yt and nothing really helping me
hey bruh I did everything right blame the cable LOL
tell tirade that not me
you did everything right but yet you couldnt find the problem
😂
ok actually tho
tenz & kaemi out
LOL
Two desk mats?
nah BRO i did not know the wooting cable was gonna be bugging
Also those keycaps are sick
UGH YOU'RE MAKING ME WANTING TO STAY
i moved it all the way to the right for mouse space
ur dpi gotta be crazy high
nah
My guess is that it’s low
400 dpi .5
yeah
switch to 800 for movement
like bunny hopping or whatever
What are some recommended mods for the wooting two HE for better sound?
If you have the stock l60's they didn't come lubed and the housings didn't seem that tight. A cheap (but time consuming) mod would be lubing the switches and filming any with wobbly housings. You may have to 3d print films or find some that are "close enough" while making sure the film isn't too thick so it doesn't mess with the sensors. You should also definitely lube your stabilizers as well.
As for other mods, there's no alternative cases on the market for it currently and I'm not sure how safe tempest mod is.
Lastly, the new lekker 45 switches on wooting's websites come with tighter housings and factory lubed. I still personally opened them and lubed the top and bottom of the housings and the 45's sound much better than my 60's that came with my HE
And of course you can replace the stock keycaps with some nice pbt ones for a better sound as well
lol i essetially play on 800 dpi 0.123 sens XD which is like sub 100edpi
I overlubed my switches a bit >.<
Should be good after a week tho hopefully
spent 3 hours on that shit
No idea, but those WooZoo fans are the shit.
Should clean them and relube IMO

sounds fine tbh, mine sounded like this aswell, it just took some time for the Lube settle. With more use the sound is gonna change a bit
their site says shipping date is september so i see no reason to write them before september ends :)
Is that okay if I only have Krytox 205G0 and Krytox GPL 105 oil at home, i wonder if I can put krytox 205G0 on my stabilizer too ? Or is that a big change to put XHZ or Molkyote on Stabilizer
Sorry first time lubbing a keyboard
205 is perfectly fine for Stabs and I use 105 if I'm bag lubing the springs
Also 205 for the switch stems but I only do the siderails
yea completely fine to do it that way
imo bdz can make stabs a bit easier but it is a lot messier
and if you only do one set it is not worth to buy an extra lube just for that
is the alumaze still moddable? (With like foam n stuff), because looking at the video from wooting the cable port area looks a bit too short to have foam added to it
I asked this also back when it was released, cos i thought the same thing. But aparently the standard wooting foam should fit np
Hm Okay.
@robust scroll Here is the answer i got
ty
maybe a dumb question but can I order from korean or chinese aliexpress when I live in europe?
Sure. You might pay some import fees though
ah I see, cuz part availability is so much better for them
W/L? (Got for my Wooting)
Didn't use the 2 dollar discount L
imagine you don't care about money cuz it gets printed infinite either
Damn bro I have same problem as the homie yesterday
Cord not working
Redux case prevents the cord from plugging all the way in
The fuck
Did you make sure it’s aligned correctly?
Is it worth O-Ringing a 60He?
nooo :(
With custom cases you might need to adjust the foam amount to prop the usb port to the right height. I had same thing with my freebird60 case until I adjusted the foam so the port lined up better
Damn. Yeah so really just have to make sure PCB is shoved all the way forward
It’s not so much the little bracket for the port as it is the case just keeps the bracket too far away from PCB
Yeah have to put that pcb to the right spot when you screw it down as well as have foam at right level - if it’s off by a touch then the cable can’t plug in fully
There are quite a few cases out there where the USB opening is too small or positioned too far away to get a good USB connection. I have some cases that only work with certain cables
Yeah but like less about square and more about put PCB as close to front as possible
Otherwise cord doesn’t even plug in
Right yeah I think that guy yesterday had same problem. Blamed the cord but it was really the male to female connection
Using stock 60HE foam
One little snip and it fits perfect
Well Ive seen 2 different issues:
- USB opening isnt wide enough to support newer high speed USB cable connectors and the cable cant plug in far enough
- USB port is too far back in the case and the USB connector struggles to plug in all the way.
Yeah exactly. The case holds the PCB usb port a little too far back
for example, one of these is too wide to plug in to one of my cases
One sounds plasticky and the other sounds metally
Yeah I thought the same
🤓
Some dude was asking about the plastic tho
So thought to share
It's funny though because people think an aluminum case is the trick to a deep sound. The reality is that the aluminum case is the trick to a dense/heavy material that wont break the bank and is easy to work with. You still have to find ways to dampen the vibrations and high frequencies.
A nice thick polycarbonate case with some weight to it like a heavy brass insert, would be easier to make sound deeper.
yeah i got the acrylic tofu60 redux with a brass weight, everything is noticeably deeper.
the key chattering due to the switches wobbling in the plate has been really bothering me
i think i'm going to experiment with 0.5mm pads
yeah the brass for the density
The plates are usually super tight, to the point that people may struggle to remove the switches at times. I havent heard of anyone having loose switches in the plate.
Start with a small piece of masking tape and see if that helps
stock l45, stock stabs, stock plate, redux case, and aftermarket double shot pbt keycaps
When i swap the plate i'll probably lube switches and stabs
but rock solid for now
oh and wooting stock foam inside the redux
any suggestions for switch stem wobble?
the performance for gaming has been unparalleled but i'm chasing a creamier sound
Ohhhh stem wobble. Thats more common. The pads wont help with that, neither will films.
Describe "creamy" for me and maybe I can help
ive basically achieved every other factor i want to in the sound profile-- the keyboard sounds deep, there
is not scratchiness or spring ping, and the stabilizers do not rattle or tick
however, some of the alphas still have that "chattering" sound
wooting 60he key rattle after a few months of use.
X key is how the entire board sounded when i got it, E key shows how bad the most used keys have gotten in a short period of time.
pretty similar to what this person experienced i guess
it's also something that came up after a couple months of use, particularly for the left side alphas (so the 'gaming' keys like WASD QWER etc etc)
would a heavier hand lubing be one step in solving this?
Stem wobble is inherent to switches without box stems. I have probably 8 or 9 keyboards next to me that most would consider higher end and I can make my keys sounds just like that if I tap them lightly on about half of them
interesting
Let me see if I can make a quick video. One mine
Yeah a box stem lekker switch would be sick
yeah that does sound awsome
Here are 3 that have a similar rattle and see if you can guess which one has box stems
Its the white one but I think the steel plate of the 60HE amplifies the rattle a bit more. Here is a 60HE recording of the one Im typing on now
This one does have a steel plate
i did get the wooting pc plate
so we'll see how this goes
my board already sounds very good so now it's neurotic minmaxing time
Thats a dangerous game
Did i hear
CHATTER
Ima let pochizo handle that
Anyways what mods
I'm curious
For anyone with ePBT keycaps: does their PBT have a textured/gritty feeling like the stock wooting keycaps?
are there any basic mods you guys would recommend for the two HE?
Lubing your switches and stabilizers is the best place to start.
i thought wootings came lubed?
i will do that first thing then
Yeah they are insanely good factory lubbed but nothing that can compete with hand lubrification
any guide u would recommend?
also would it be a good idea to add lubes from wooting to my order or buy 3rd party?
ty for the answer btw
after lubing my 60 he
