Here's a really good guide of this persons build, and the o-ring and screw size he recommends: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/12jlgs4/modded_wooting_60_he/
Pretty much all available on Amazon the parts needed
I was told you canât burger and gummy mount?
Thank you! I appreciate the help I'll definitely do the burger mount when everything gets here
Wait I'm assuming the burger mount cause a height issue too if I'm building in a low profile case? Maybe I won't be able to do it
I mean define height issue I guess
Itâll raise it up but not by much
Itâs a squishy little ring
Yeah raise it up, the case I'm gonna buy the plate sits right at the edge of the case perfectly
So the o rings would cause a small gap
For reference I'll be putting it in this case
Itâll be easy enough to try it out and see if you want to
Probably like $2-3 in hardware from the hardware store
This guide is better than the one I posted before, as it relates specifically to the GH60: https://owenminercs.com/Keyboard/60he.html
Wooting 60HE Build list with part links
that looks so bad

Thank you, I appreciate the help

You can use DSA or XDA profile keycaps
@loud zephyr did u do it for all 4 screw holes
Does it make any sense to use the springs from the L45 and swap them into the L60's? I should just use the L45's in the board instead right? Any performance difference between the two?
Just the springs are different
Figured, I'll just use the L45's then. Thank you!
Np
Another recruit?!?!
Giga chad
when do they come in Tuna?
Is it possible???
It's simply not possible.
Burgir mount best
Borbgar
Next week
Thatâs what Iâll be doing. At least to try it out. Currently using the Kilmat + MLV, so my sound is pretty muted as is. Will see if the PC plate makes a big difference
Mine has 5 screw holes and all burgered
Time to wait
I got some flat profile key caps as flat face keys are what I sue on a daily basis, now I'll be ready for my wooting 2 HE ||praying for no more delays for the US Mint batch||
xd, im with u, it'll be worth it at the end đ
Does anyone know if ceramic keycaps (especially the spacebar) will be a problem with performance/responsiveness? Will they reset just as quick as PBT keycaps or is there a noticeable difference?
Let me know how it works out!
What flat keycaps do you use?
just need a tough spring for spacebar, all else is just fine
so favorably l60 spring for spacebar
spacebar has some issue according to this post
Since you can set the threshold for when the key resets will this nulify the slower reset to its resting position?
Yes
XVX Low Profile Keycaps -Black Keycaps, Shine Through Keycaps, 118 Keys Double Shot PBT Keycaps, Horizon Custom Keyboard Keycaps for 60% 65% 75% 80% 100% Cherry Gateron MX Switches Mechanical Keyboard https://a.co/d/1nwkTKr
These are the ones I got, you could probably find them cheaper on Ali express. The ones I got also come in a nice blue color set that I was also thinking about getting
I went with flat because I am used to using laptop keys
guy could just handpull the spring to make it slower
Idk how to do that
crack the switch open, find the spring and pull with both hands
extend it
đđ
Like, removed it and not put it back? lol
like typing with the 4 standoffs on the left and right sides and removing the standoff at the spacebar
Hmm, I would it assume it wouldn't work that well.
Better off doing a burger mount
I've done it, it works
Though now i have a gummy o ring mount so
what does tape do
If youâre putting IN your switches, it can dampen the sound of the switch returning to the resting position when it hits the top of the housing.
If youâre placing it on the bottom of youâre PCB, it can change the sound of the board slightly depending on the type of tape and thickness.
hm
Or lastly, you can place tape underneath your keycaps which changes the sound of the keycaps slightly, most commonly done on the spacebar.
isnât silicon better for that
Probably, tape is just like a cheap way to go about it.
I havenât tried the keycap method. From numerous sound tests online I wasnât a fan of the tempest tape mod either (the one on the bottom of the PCB)
I think changing the foam, and case are more effective means of changing the sound.
How can i get my wooting to sound more thocky, i use the tofu redux with the foam from wooting
Lube
The steel plate makes it challenging to achieve a more thockier sound, but you can start with a burger mount and thick PBT keycaps. Wooting's PC plate should go a long way to achieve a thockier sound
Unfortunately i have the iso layout
Is there any info if wooting will be releasing the pc plate for iso layout
TBD. We'd have to make one just for existing ISO owners.
Thereâs also several people that have posted here with ceramic keys that have no issues tho. YMMV
tape mod and burger mount maybe
if a lubed key sounds different do i relube it or is that normal đ
last change for now
ok rezy we got the tofu and the coil
Now that's THOCK

Ceramic, Aluminum, now metal
Gives off an awful tingy noise on the stabs though
Then cerakeys might be better
Uh oh get some nicer colors
That lavender is gorgeous tho
Matte metal black keycaps for $150 is solid
They say its made of cupronickel
its also known as copper-nickel.
Yeah makes sense
I feel like your board would look better if u would combine some black and white caps
what colors you thinking
it would but this is all i have atm
i tried some black keycaps but when they came in they were a lighter gray than i wouldve liked so i took them off
I bought white redux case and i wanna combite white and black together :-), Was thinking of buying whe wooting white caps but the delivery is expensive and the vats
sheesh
might wanna change that pfp
quite literally my keyboard except it's a klippe t case
i think the blank keycaps are next
yes please
Its Will Angell on the photo my favourite performer in the industry
Klippe T is nice too, I thought of buying it but the redux saved me its cheap and i like the usbc port can be adjusted
hopefully this is an okay :>
but i've found one of my old design for tray mount and i guess its time to open source it! the idea is to make a tray mount case with actual burger mount compatibility by having larger usb cutout to accommodate the increase of distance due to added o rings. was a bummer when i tried to do burger o-ring on my tofu years ago and realizing the usb port wasn't actually design to handle that mod.
i hope this case would help anyone trying to do that mod in 2023, and super stoked on trying to get a 60HE module in coming time! feel free to reach me out if you have any question or concerns

Darkred
Yeah white case is sweet cuz white plate
âWhiteâ Alumaze is best case
MAO 2 sexy
I want to try titanium and carbon fiber case/keys
good luck lol
My Wooting with GMK 80082 BL00
the colours dont match with the case
fuck all that, M2K and artisan pad?? beautiful
Marbled carbon keys would go hard
does anyone make some? iv only ever seen carbon spacebar and esc key
everything goes with black tho i do have an alumaze60 on order in grey
awesome pad tho i keep going back between that and the hien
i mean the 2 black tones dont match
which black tone are you talking about ?
Which pad is it?
ong đ
otsu soft and the hien i switch with is the mid for the m2k otherwise i use soft for the other mice
Does plates that are in kit with tofu60 redux are compatibles with wooting 60he pcb ?
No.
no
W fr
Thanks for answering
Would I be stupid if I ask you why exactly ? I hates yes/no response without understanding myself why
i just need to grab the raiden and shidenkai when they release the new version
different mounting locations
the darkest tone of the keycaps and the tone of the case
thats dark blue not black
very dark blue i suppose
yea thats what i mean...idk it just jumped into my eyes and now i cant unsee it ;)
Will these be good for burger mounting? I heard longer screws are better. Also getting 4.5mm x 1.5mm x 1.5mm orings? Yay or nay?
Yeah longer screws are better, I used the ones that came with my Klippe T chassis but if you're using just the stock case or not buying one that comes with longer screws then yea id get em, not too sure though.
For the o rings though 1.5mm are the ones you want yea. These are the exact ones I bought (CA): https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B082SVFWCS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I tried the smaller screws that came with the wooting to see what it was like for burger mounting and it's not ideal ill just say that. like you can pull it off it's just somewhat difficult.
my redux just came in. ill check those to see what size they are. thanks for the help
I think 6mm is enough but preferably longer so it will make your life much easier
^
awesome these are the last two pieces to the puzzle. got my redux, lube kit, tape for tape mod. just need some time off work now to put her all together.
is there an updated list of compatable cases or is the current one the newest?
I believe the list gets updated along the way.
Someone has a link to a 60% alu plate which supports Plate Mount Stabilizer and has holes for the Plate Standoffs (I do own the KBDfans standoff set)
Does the wooting 60 he come with a keycap puller
Yes.
ok ty
Yo guys Iâm about to order my tofu 60 redux. Still wondering if the brass plate is that much important. Can you tell me exactly what does it changes to have one ?
Weight, solely
Only ? Anything with sound ?
And anyway as a gamer / streamer, you wonât hear sound while playing with a headset right ?
No to the first one, it depends for the second one.
Depends on how loud your keyboard is and how good your headset blocks sound out.
Yes it does affects the sound to an extent
barely
Just add it
so im buying monsgeek m1w pre assembled, does anyone have a brass plate that is compatible (ansi)
Doesnt the case need to have a slot for it?
Never heard of a brass plate that is cross brand compatible.
They're usually custom fit for a specific case.
yea they also don't provide you with a plate file
much better than brass for sure
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
brass plates suuuuuck
why
y :(
not stupidly stiff to the point that they can actually feel fatiguing on bottom out
That pre assembled for ya
even with customs basically nobody does brass plates
gateron pro v3
i hate gateron

its these or speed silvers
I mean if you plan to spring swap and lube, sure
lube, il do it
2050g
springs, hell nah
i'd get those fs
or epomaker wisteria linear
lazy + il lose em
if you lube you already open them
at that point springs are barely extra effort

True. I need that spacebar spam silky smooth
i vegemite my keycaps

Hey, does anyone happen to know how thick the EPDM is on the bottom of TWO HE keyboard? Is it worth it to replace with a thicker one or poron (or does a thicker one even fit inside)?
Anyone know where I can avail KBDfans 5 Degree Case? đ
discontinued
hm
in todays video we see what keyboards cant survive gallium
welp fjell it is
I want to change to tofu60 redux if im gonna change to PC plate, which plate i have to buy? (from wooting or kbdfans)
Wooting in the only one who sells the PC plate
Fjell is 5%?
Its 8% if I recall
degrees?
Yeah that
Thanks
Fjell is my grail aesthetic but thatâs kind of steep
I doubt Iâll ever upgrade from redux, realistically
Unless there ends up being something with it lol
Fjell is the first real set-up in quality/sound once you get away from the sub $100 cases
chill
might make me buy one, one day
lol
Its a great case
One question.
Is the Klippe T heavier than the Redux with the brass weight?
I think its almost 3x as heavy
Oh sorry Klippe. Not sure/ Fjell is
Looks like Klippe is similar weight as the Tofu
similar. Is it heavier?
Theyâre about the same. Yeah ~1kg
Redux is advertised as 1.08kg with brass
Klippe T advertised as âApprox. 1kgâ
So yeah
Fjell is advertised as approx 2kg fwiw
shit
okay
I'm gonna make a brass weight for the OG Tofu
Cheaper and better options out there
wouldn't cost me near anything
just need it to be heavy
Aggressive gaming sessions?
although you could say that
Thats super aggressive
which part lol
Lol
if only kbd will do another run for 5 degrees I would cop
Thatâs cool Bateman, but thatâs nothing.
Your mouse pad isnât even square with the desk cuz youâre sweating so hard đ
no time to adjust
it gets too sweaty in gold
Lol fax
the things you have to do as a left-handed person đ
Iâm not quite as aggressive
Usually the monitor is square. But was just chilling lol
I think we have the same monitor lol
XL2566K?
nvm.
criminal alt?
yep lol
Ah lol
Homie, youâre watching a TV show like that?
Wtffff Lolol
Bro has girafee neck
Wow, how is your posture?
Yeah nice setup
Lol yeah crazy
I just go straight arm and natural limp hand angle
So boards tilted at like 30th degrees
show me
do you actually play like that
yessir
my neck hurts looking at that angle
Real question, if you need to type something in chat, do you have to drag your keyboard out?
No, knows his buttons
how so?
Show me a picture of you typing with 2 hands with the kyboard at that angle.
okay
let me get my tripod lol
I mean does it look like this?
similar
what case is that it looks nice
Sirius60 with a custom plate for the Wooting 60HE
sending a typing test to tirade
Thats actually super interesting. Whats your monkeytype or WPM using that style?
piss poor lol but I only use it for gaming
Well that would make sense and typing on a laptop would suck for sure haha
thank gosh I don't use one lol
For sure. Luckily its not a full sized keyboard either
haha yep
one of the many perks of a 60
gold in FPS, silver in typing and below bronze for posture lol
that's so mean lol
I'm sorry, that was uncalled for đ
My back hurts all the time so I'm not one to talk about posture
you're not even 25
I mean Ive got underwear older than 25 but I feel 25 mentally
just looked it up looks great but sold out
seems like its hard to find polycarbonate cases these days
LMFAOOO
Try this setup unless you want to have posture like Gollum, and be blind by 40yrs old. All you would need is a small coffee table, and a medicine ball.
king Rapha
Yeah it's an older board and not super common. You could try keeping an eye out for some other older cases that don't need a custom plate such as the Polycarbonate Tofu60 or 5 degree, Acrylic Klippe-T or Glass Baldr60, Polycarbonate Bumper 60, PH60 (if you're ok with HHKB) and a few more I've probably forgotten
Lol thatâs why I needed side print Glance under the monitor real quick đ
Lol ofc tirade has a PC case with PC plate. Boss keeb living.
It's actually an aluminum plate but I tend to prefer aluminum in a lot of boards. I am looking forward to testing out the PC plate though!
ill have to look into those i did come across the mont60 recently but the typing angle was too much but the case looked nice
A wrist wrest would alleviate the typing angle if that's your only concern.
Ahh gotcha gotcha.
Dang mont60 look nice
But 11degree kind of steep lol
yep that was my concern even after propping up my keyboard to see what things would be like
For gaming in particular I think I wouldnât like it. Idk tho
I have a wrist rest and Iâm scared lol
Maybe not do bad tho. Idk
Acrylic 60% low pro for $20?? Might try it out
im kinda tempted to order it part of me feels like i might regret it
Hey, I just got a full set of low profile keys for my 2HE today
Theyâre shine through
my wife is asking why I have more keyboard parts than keyboards đ
They always ask. But theyâll never know.
Iâm always honest with my wife when she asks. But then thereâs always more.
I heard someone here say wrist rests arenât ergonomic
Would like that explanation again lol
Probably depends on where your arm hits the desk
Personally feels like its too high compared to keyboard height.
Thatâs Wooting one ?
60he
60% mini wrist rest
Gotcha
I have Wooting wrist res. MYbe Iâll take a pic later
Work for me tho. Never really thought about it
But I also prefer kind of flatter feel for keeb. So makes sense if I liked higher rest. Idk
Works better when i put a thin book under the 60he
Something like this looks better
True. Crazy
Will prob buy one of those keyboard mats from kbd fans
I mean if were being technical, you want the the heel of your hand to be on the wrist rest and not your actual wrist.
All down to personal preference in the end
hey on the wooting lubing kit there is no oil for the springs right? or maybe i can use something else from the kit for the springs?
No oil for bag lube
Just the krytox for switches that you would swipe on the springs
And the grease
hm, what is the best for springs then? krytox 205g0 on it or buying krytox 105 oil and bag lube? or its the same
205 is only on the edges of the spring to reduce spring ping
You cant bag lube with it
Best is to do both bag lube + edges
dilute with some water until you can bag lube it
Really?
I never lubed mine yet. I only bought the kit so far lol
I had spare lub from previous keyboard so might as well
Just watch the wooting video on lubing and use the included lube in the kit to lightly lube the spring ends. Its the same as dipping the springs.
Interesting. Iâm opposite, I canât have the keyboard alone on my keebmat because it makes the angle feel off for me
I bought a larger xl keebmat just so both my wooting and wrist rest could be same level again
Tempted to lube whole spring, NGL lol
But does seem a bit much lol
I would definitely rather under lube than over lube. And being my first time I think Iâll take it light.
I guess it ends up to personal preference. We all slightly different from one an other.
you might went to go heavy on the springs
just
dip it in the jar and call it a day
đŤĄ

Deleted that pic so people dont think youre serious and make my life hell
LMAO
You laugh. He cries.
I lubed my whole spring. Fairly lightly though I think.
I only lubed the ends

i hate lubing springs by hand
Iâd rather just bag lube if I had gpl 105 đ˘
Is it just me or is it spaced weirdly
hmm kind of
But as long as u dont pay close attention u wont see it
How do the stock keycaps look?
It's all personal preference, here's a reference on height profile
Replacing the plate for the wooting. Does it already have stand-offs already provided in the original build? I really wanna order this POM plate from SMkeyboards but there's currently no stand-offs I can find other than kbdfans which are sold out.
No standoff provided as it's built into the PCB or stock plate, from memory
Damn that sucks hopefully the stand-off comes back soon or if wooting can come out with one before then would be great as well.
Wooting's PC plate would be the best way to go if you can wait, it comes with different types of PCB/Plate foam and no need for third party screws
I think pre-orders will arrive around Oct-Nov, not sure what the allocation is like now though
Still October

Early-Mid October
Mine says Nov
Makes sense
I guess it all depends on location
I live in the USA so pretty easy shipping
Sucks that your order will come November though
Nah, I'm in no hurry. All good
I have IEM's 90% of the time so I don't really hear the clacking as loudly, and I'm used to it
anyone got a carbon fibre plate for monsgeek m1w
Is the stem on your keycap loose? Test with other keycaps?
And what's that little additional piece of tape there for, on the switch tape mod? Looks like a piece of masking tape or something?
Could potentially be the keycaps themselves, even GMK isn't immune to faults
My DSA caps I just received have the same issue on a couple keycaps. Stems fit really loosely and makes them look a bit wonky.
Trying L45 L&F on POM plate
How's the sound of the POM plate, or still working in progress?
I have confirmed the address for many days, but still haven't seen the goods shipped
I've had a warped spacebar and it was so bad it wouldn't rebound properly. Bowl of hot water didn't fit it either, sadge
He uses the masking tape to keep the medical tape on the switch from getting loose
Hmm, I was actually curious about that. I was more concerned about the inside tape getting loose though and interfering with the switch.
I dont use the masking tape though, my tape is secure
Also the tape inside doesnt really get loose after its secured
Mine looks secure so far, I guess we'll see. I need to order some new switches anyways since I broke a few tabs on mine.
I honestly dont ever want to do switch tape mod again
It took so long

Fine tuning everything
Weekend
Does Switch pad foam stickers work with this keyboard?
I see it very well
Yes
No
It's tighter than stock
For?
To use with a C3 universal db
idk if it will work though
I think I'll solder on a daughterboard into mine
For uh
Science
only one way to find out
i also doubt this would work as the daughterboards used still have some components on them that in the case of the wooting would be on the pcb i guess? Dunno if that would create issues
It could
Although I know some PCB that work with or without a daughterboard
In case of using db. You just break the USB
true... waffling60 comes to mind for me, but the jst and type c port on these are still seperated... Tbh im just guessing i dont know shit about stuff like that XD
The main reason being I wanted to use it with a case design I'm making
I can probably make a one of one custom unit with USB hole on left lmao
Not dead, it's a real product
Link doesnât work for me is all
Oh nvm just have to close the âlink invalidâ box and it ended up working lol
Curious to buy them both if I had translate on my phone lol
but why flex cut on CF and FR4
fr
i dont see why wooting people would want flex cut
The flex cuts are a horrible idea. I was noticing the same. It's going to cause acutation issues and people are going to be pissed.
I think this was a big L by kbdfans. Obviously they do not understand how the technology works.
common behavior
Would screw in stabs from 60he module fit those plates?
Yeah I noticed those flex cuts
no, because they flex when u press down on any switch
uhh Salvation or Fjell? đ¤
Which do you like the look of better?
I like the look of the Fjell better but thinking about Salvation's Leafy springy thingy
The leaf springs wont matter for the 60HE because the PCB/plate doesnt flex at all (and shouldnt).
ahh then should that be a problem for salvation users?
I mean well, if you think about it, the purpose of the salvation is to have it springy
right?
Its not a problem for salvation users because they are using traditional mechanical switches where flex has no affect on switch actuation. Thats not the case with the switch & PCB technology utilized by the 60HE. Flex might be good for typing feel, but its bad for magnetic switches.
Thats why up above we were all just saying flex cuts in the plates from KBDfans are a bad idea.
I meant for those who had upgraded their wooting60he to salvation case that would be a prob
Thus is their answer
No, having the spring mount wouldnt make the 60HE plates flex because the plates are scewed into the PCB. Think of it like putting a piece of wood inside the case instead of a PCB. The wood wont flex just because mounts under it might be springy.
They are wrong. Those cut WILL cause the plate to flex slightly in those areas and it WILL cause the switches to have inconsistent actuation issues. Very rarely am I this adamant about something but I've done this and I know. I've had 5 custom plates made for the 60HE and 2 of them had flex cuts and both caused issues.
My plates were both aluminum but aluminum is 3x as stiff as FR4
cause I was thinking like the whole pcb + plate will move like uhh a typewriter
Carbon fiber might be ok with the cuts but Im not a fan of CF clacky sound.
If the whole unit bounces, thats fine. It wont affect the performance of the 60HE, that's why I said they wont have any issues.
hmm so if the whole unit is sort of suspended by the leaves of the salvation would that make the typing feel better or not so much (for wooting)?
I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make. It's probably similar to gummy o-ring mounting that also provides a little bounce. It softens it a little but I can't say it's night and day difference.
Do you know why the wooting makes pc plate late? Any news?
I havent heard that the PC is late. Pre-orders opened up weeks ago.

so I'm watching this review and it shows the movement of the whole unit

Check out the review of the Wilba.Tech Salvation 60% keyboard from Wilba and Salvun. It features a unique leaf spring mounting system that manages to bring something to the table that I've...
Yeah, that wont be a problem
if you were given a choice between Fjell or Salvation which would you go for? đ
Ive had both, I prefer the Fjell
Too much for alu case i would buy alumaze instead of those
was gonna go for KBDfans 5 degrees but there isn't. tho I might have hope from r/mechmarket.
There are options you can buy but imp i wouldnt pay over 200 euros for Just a case
yes sounds overkill but just thinking of an endgame 60%
then I would proceed to my 1800 compact
Thereâs a guy with a bunch of the KBD low proâs on mech market
Fjell is the goat IMO
But yeah I just bought the redux lol
Maybe one day
When I also want to drop another $300 on aluminum keycaps
yeah I messaged the guy
Maybe try it out.
Man yeah I should start saving up for Fjell/alu keycaps lol
$600 NBD
My vision is to get the pre-order of the module then the case depends if the 5° is available then I should get that first-if not then the Fjell or Salv
I already have keycaps
I have Ramenstop for keycaps which was supposedly for a 1800 compact kb
If itâs too much Iâll just buy the PC plate (I already have 60HE)
Fjell Ultramarine would probably look good with those Ramenstop
Hey guys I need ur help and knowledge to find my personal keycaps set.
I would like a Ceyment grey like this set, with haragana, itâs perfectly my taste exept i would like some legends on mint green like on the second photo.
If you know a set like this first one but with mint legend I would love to buy it
I'm already thinking the module will be as almost priced with the wooting60he
those are katakana not hiragana
Lol I doubt that. But yeah who knows
Sorry đđđ idk the diff, just loving Japanese things
Im scared of that too
I mean if you think about it the pcb is the core of it.. so like if the 60he is already established. then maybe we can price the module with that-replace the case, keycaps, with foams, plates, maybe a gist of screw-in stabs. (pls dont ban me) đ
They still need the module to sell to invest all this time and energy for it
đ
Yâall crazy lol
Switches are $40
Keycaps are $40
Plus then you need a cable
Wooting ofc
Another $40
And thatâs not with case yet lol
If itâs over $150 Iâm not buying it
And I canât see many other people buying it above that price either. Just buy a 60HE and mod lol
true
but well you have the basis from the 60HE. my guess is from 130$ to 150$
i feel the module is so near like a few days like maybe in 3.. 2..
Module comes with a basic cable
But the rest of your point is valid... đ
One of the primary benefits to the module is the fact that it doesn't come with switches so you can pick between the L45 and L60, instead of by default getting L60 and needing to purchase L45 on top of that
Id argue that that none of the plastic parts are as expensive as estimated. The case and keycaps are pennies on the dollar when made in bulk.
You can buy both a plastic case and 60% keycap set for under $40
exactly
but guys it's wooting!
the question is why does it come with a cable if you're gonna have to provide everything else? unless the cable is dirt cheap
So ppl wont complain about issues that occurs with voltage
so basically we can use the module naked just the foam pcb switches and just plug it in
Sure you can use it without a case.
sure lol
I wouldn't
This what Jeroen does
Pretty sure every time someone has talked about the cost of the module, we have been told it will be "very close to the 60he pricing" from the team.
unfortunate
long time no see
I'm always here đ I try to keep up-to-date with everything.
I think its more in the context of very close to the 60HE pricing minus the switches. The plastic parts arent that expensive so not getting the case and stock keycaps isnt a huge cost savings.
I think I'm gonna go with Gateron's orange KS-20 switches.
And I 100% agree on that front. Especially with the module coming with both plates and included screw in stabs. It's going to be competitively priced and I believe will have specific discounts when packaged with other items.
Go White ones
Sorry you're right. Both foams*
too light
Rgb is verru shit on oranges
won't use it
I dont use the RGb either but Im not a good enough FPS player anymore to use RGB
Iam into aesthetic more than rgb
Would buying the switch and module cost almost the same as 60he?right?
We won't fully know until the module and all information about discounts gets released.
I jumped straight into a 60he after seeing the "similarly priced" messages and I'm not disappointed at all. Actually pretty happy I have two sets of switches just in case.
I'm all in for it. for the hard-working wooting team! woot woot!
As with any product that allows customization, it'll always be cheaper to buy the pre-made kit instead of piecing together something together exactly as you want it.
Will people be disappointed? More than likely. But people get disappointed for anything and everything now-a-days. All I have to say is it is good to have the available options that Wooting is providing. I haven't seen a more supportive team than I have from Wooting (i.e. being on Discord and responding to our repetitive questions).
I mean people can just buy the premade
feels good
wait what? so meaning there are other Magnetic Hall Sensor Switches?
Yes
Tip ! This switch is only compatible with keyboard fit lekker switch-Wooting. ⢠Stem: Pom ⢠Action travel: Freely setting ⢠Total travel: 4.1Âą0.2mm ⢠Pre-lubed: Yes ⢠Typing Style: Linear ⢠Spring: 20mm ⢠LED SupportďźSMD ⢠Lifetime: 100 million
So four options for Wooting switches that Iâm aware of
Gateron builds the lekker switches for wooting as well so they apparently decided to offer some different gram weight choices and colors
Lekker l45, l60, gateron ks-20 orange, white.
Yeah all variations of an identical switch basically
It'll likely be cheaper buying them from Wooting if you're buying them along with the module just from a shipping perspective
yes everything from Wooting except the case 𼜠â°ď¸
Lol yeah same
wait so you have Fjell, did you get the Mekanisk Dampening foam?
đ
Yes, Ive got a stack of their foam. Ive owned or own probably 6 Mekanisk cases
did you use 2 stack of foams for W60HE in Fjell or 1?
It comes as a pack of 2. The older stacks were the same thickness and the newer stacks have different thicknesses. Give me a min and Ill see if I can snag a picture
To answer your question though, I dont usually use foam in aluminum cases. I prefer fiberfill or silicone
Not sure if this helps or not but you the top 3 foams are mekanisk and you can see them compared to other foams from stupidfish, Tofu60, silicone etc
did you do the silicone or was it bought?
Its not a pour, its a pre-cut silicone pad
i've searched and people do recommend stupidfish too
Man I'm overwhelmed with all the information today. my brain is about to 𤯠haha
thanks @stray tiger đŻ
Try not to overthink it. Take it one step at a time. Get your board or piece together your module, case, switches and keycaps and then you can look at mods. The module comes with 2 different dampening materials (silicone and foam) so you can already swap them around and see which you like best.
Check the https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399 for some good information as well as the Wooting official youtube channel. A lot of the stuff you read online doesnt apply or isnt needed for the 60HE.
It's been almost a year thinking to build a 1800 compact kb endgame. then I saw wooting-ignored it for a bit cause my head was fixed for 1800 . then I thought of my actual purpose of getting a kb was to game. đ¤ then everything escalated to this. and now I can't stop aaaa
thanks again!
should i go with a gray case and black keycaps or black case with gray keycaps?
yes
up to youj
We can show you pictures of black on black and grey on grey. Im sure someone has the other options you asked about.
grey tofu? Looks cool
Not a Tofu. Lower profile and heavier (limited edition run of another case but does have a brass insert)
haha ic thanks
name
Anyone that has the silver Tofu Redux could you post some pics
Hmm try this one https://web.archive.org/web/20220702194211/https://sentraq.com/collections/extended-shipping/products/60-aluminum-high-profile-case
How do the Gateron KS-20 switches compare to the Lekker Wooting switches?
Which keycaps is that
here
oh not silver
oops
I mean the white looking mighty fine though
Thank you
Out of stock đŚ
Pbtfans purpurite looks soo good
Aside from the white Enter and Esc, they're quite nice. I'm still on the fence when it comes to the bottow row mod icons though
Has anyone successfully put a jst connector on the pcb to have a center usb c?
this thing sounds incredble in the acrylic tofu60, cannot wait to use a pc plate
Grab this purple instead
which gasket mounted case are you using?
330 dollars is wild
There are a few options you can choose but all of them require a custom plate. I've gasket or top mounted the 60HE on 4-5 different cases
im using the psd60 gasket rn, but the stabs slot for the spacebar is so loose, but the plate file isnt available online so its hard to make a custom one
Where did you get the cable?
Ahh I've used the Hive60, Frog mini, Raindrop 60 and Sirius 60 @vernal grove
We are a family owned and operated company that specializes in custom mechanical keyboard cables. We offer every option imaginable. Wired In is an authorized retailer for MDPC⢠| The Original from Germany and one of the few artisans using MDPC-X XTC; the tightest PET weave available, without compromise, on the market.
Appreciated!!!
I know the owner and he is a great guy. My personal recommendation.
if i use switch pads that are 0.5mm will it change my actuation distances
oof, i highly doubt i could find anyone selling those rn lmao
well, frog mini is still in stock, but the other ones arent
It won't change your distance as the switches are calibrated during power on but if the pads are squishy it can create inconsistent actuations. If you must have pads, thinner and harder is better.
Frog mini is not really gasket, since it uses tadpoles but I didn't love how it sounded with the 60HE. I still have my frog mini but it's with a half plate and the stock PCB.
gotchu. did you have to get a custom plate for the hive 60?
Yes but I have the CAD files for it and the Raindrop 60 (and frog) if you pick one up.
perfect, ill lyk
Dropping it here now just in case (see what I did there?)
DMn that hive60 looks glorious
thanks:)
Why
is that 60he pcb?
why
i want mine in porpol
I want coffee themed setup
tbf i could just enter the protagonist60 gb
I'm using a skypad yume rn so purple is just like
So different
It's just IC now. Not GB yet
In terms of colour
Meant that yeah
I was already in the ic
Am already in ic*
Same, the owner is a good dude
challenging myself to not disassemble my keeb until the wooting pc plate arrives
im struggling
Money tho...
I can't keep on doing this đ
can i see ur keeb
im curious how porpol it is
Very nice and a good time to buy GMK with so many flash sales showing up
What do you think of Baionlenja's OBJ.1?
Wooting compatible
Premium Swiss 7021 aluminium for extra heft and density
9 degree typing angle for mass and OG styling
17.5mm low front height
Optimised mounting point locations
Baionwave 2 for next level acoustic optimisation
HHKB sides
Works with most 60% Usb-C pcb's
Estimated price <300âŹ
Made in Finland
Genelec coatings available
Dat price though
Gray/Silver or Black coiled cable with these keycaps?
Black coiled for me but both would look good imo
I've seen one of his other boards and they looked nice. I'm sure this one would be too.
The 9 degree angle is kinda scary and I'm not a fan of wrist rest. Genelec coating could also be cool
that thing looks thicc
I think the back end gives the illusion of it being thick due to increased typing angle. Top and side borders aren't too chonky
What are some good options for keycaps?
Are dye-sub pbt keycaps better than doubleshot pbt?
other way around
with underglow? gd
Oh ok thank you !
Also Can someone give me some tips on making the wooting Sounds better please?
2 simple mods that will make it alot better but takes a long time
Lube it
Switch Tape mod it to get rid of chatter (I used nexcare gentle paper tape) https://discordapp.com/channels/167181566978555904/984799440072220692/1134880533961252874
Thank you very much !
I suggest doing them both at the same time
also I used two layers of the tape for each switch on each side
switch tape mod
its in the explaination
I'd wait and see the sound tests for Wooting's PC plate, as this will be the most signifant mod for those who want a more subdued sound; as well as softer typing experience. It's hard to escape the harshness of the stock steel plate, no matter how much you mod switches; stabs etc.
You can gain some improvements by doing the most common mods, but if you're pulling everything apart you may as well wait and see what the PC plate is like.

Found it years ago but i stopped myself
when using switch tape mod can you use switch pads and films too?
You can use films, not sure about switch pads though. I don't think switch pads would work, but someone with more experience may know for sure.
Films don't exactly fit great though, the lekker switches are thick bois.
Are the Gateron KS-20âs better Than the lekkers 45(L45) Switches ?
Oh ok sounds good Thank you for the advice!
Oh i see
made in Finland you say? đ¤
shame it's a bit overpriced
anybody here get the tofu 60 redux?
i have mine and is it normal for the sides to have some gaps in between the keyboard and the case
And it doesn't even come with a PCB but either way, it's super expensive for a tray mount
it's normal
Yeah. I'm really bad with my money but I still can't see myself paying 300 euros for a case
thought so, just kinda looked a bit odd
but its not that noticeable
Yeah you'll forget about it in a while. It's the same with OG tofu60 and redux
This ones taken from the #1070668460905988106
this is a overhead pic so u cant really see the gap on the spacebar side
ill share a pic of my wooting later
Good choice. The keyboard rabbit hole will swallow you up if it smells blood
I do like Baion's designs though, very consistent themes throughout
leaving that aside, any good ideas to get rid of the slight pingy/hollow sound of the tofu 60 case?
They do look nice
im new to modding and all so i dont know what we do
theres some foam i can put in, it came in the packaging of the tofu case
ive lubed the keeb too, albeit the jobs not excellent
This one is a good place to start, there's quite a few on Youtube
Check out the Fractal Design Meshify Lite case here! - https://bit.ly/meshifylite
đ PULL IT DOWN FOR THE GOOD STUFF đ
Finally getting under the hood of the Wooting 60HE. We're gonna talk best practices for the Lekker switch, swap it into a Tofu60 case, we'll talk stabilizers, case dampening, and how to get the best sound out of your keycaps.
â T...
you didn't put any foam in there? that helps a bunch already
i did, its a thin piece that came with the redux
i was thinking of putting the original wooting foam in too, but it was really thick
alright đ
and i didnt wanna damage anything by having to apply force when screwing the pcb in
it does fit and makes it sound a bit softer
is it alright if i have to press it down quite a bit to screw it in?
yeah it is
i had the wooting foam in my first tofu case, but wanted to try the tofu foam that came with redux. It does sound a bit pingier but I don't mind myself đ doesn't sound horrible
Here's BadSeedTech's update specific to modding the Redux
So KBDfans is dropping the Tofu Redux and Wooting fans everywhere once again have an affordable aftermarket case option. Also checking out the new Gateron KS-20 Orange Hall Effect Switches.
đ PULL IT DOWN FOR THE GOOD STUFF đ
â TOFU60 REDUX CASE (SHIPPING IN SEPTEMBER) - https://kbdfans.com/r?id=io0457
â WOOTING WRIST REST - https://wooting.io/...
yeah its not that bad
the wooting case if i remember has 2 layers, ones got a shorter width
can you seperate those 2 layers?
ill just pop in the bigger piece
foam btw*
Try it out anyways, tray mount cases are easy to work with
not case
alright
i also remember there was a golden screw i put in the middle of the case
its called a plate stabilizer or something?
is that necessary
That's the standoff that screws into the Redux which aligns with the bottom screw from the Wooting
Around the spacebar area I think
Correct
I didn't even put those things in
i think i put the lower one on
what about tape mod
i have some masking tape
not painters tape
is that fine to put
and does it produce any change
I haven't tried the tape mod but I'd imagine it would have a bit of impact in softening the sound
alright ty, ill put in the wooting foam later
The burger mount is definitely worth doing but will require a couple parts; ideally you want M2x6mm screws which makes life easier installing the O-rings
The Wooting 60HE is a stiff keyboard, that we can agree. So, is there something you can do to change this? Sander tries out the burger mount mod for the Wooting 60HE to see if that makes a drastic change in feel, but also in sound.

Does Anyone know if i can Burger mount my Ducky keyboard in the mean time?
Which model is it?
Ducky one 2 mini .. its an old version so siwtches are solderd
If it's a tray mount with standoffs similar to the Wooting then I see no reason why you can't try burger mounting
Ignore the arrows
Okki nice Thanks! yeah it uses like pastic standoff looking things that are molded to the case so believe that should work
@loud zephyr Would you know what kind of screws/o rings i would need?
Without knowing the exact dimension of Ducky's screws, it's hard to recommend. These are the O-Rings I use with M2x6mm screws on my Wooting
Thanks
Does anyone know when the 60he module is coming out?
Pre-order should be somewhere in September if all goes to plan
Ok thanks
yeh you can
thats what i had to do to fit the wooting foam
Copy pasta
Is that custom leather work?
Nah guitar strap
I'll get custom leather work soon I hope so
Thatâs a great use of a guitar strap
At This rate my Alumaze might get here before my Tofu does xD
i m no fan of the Wooting straps, but that is pretty dope not gonna lie
Hi
I recently got my Wooting 60he and Iâm using it for gaming and was wondering if thereâs any performance mods that can be made to it
Wootility customizations
No hardware improvements to be made unless you view lighter springs as performance mod
Then buy l45 switches
But most mods are not for performance but for personal preference of feel, sound and aesthetics.
Okay thank you
Iâve been thinking about getting lighter switches just yo try them out
You can buy a 12-pack for $10 before shipping
Not bad
Covers WASD and some action keys
Yea I was gonna try that
did u install it along with the tofu foam?
i lubed all my switches and staibilaizers a week or two ago. They sound stock again? any advice?
@elder hollow @loud zephyr just installed the wooting foam too and it sounds so much better,
i did have to squeeze a bit to be able to screw it in
but after 2 screws the other got in just fine
it really is fine right if we have to push like that to be able to screw the keyboard into the case right? dont wanna damage anything
Better to not use films with masking tape
But with medical tape it fine
And yes you can use switch pads
Perfectly fine
Already tested
You dont wanrt to cause the PCb to bend or warper any, that will cause issues and personally I like to leave a little breathing room between the PCB and case foam just to keep the heat down.
Can you send us a before and after sound video?
I messaged support to ask for an update and they shipped it out next day if that helps (For reference I ordered mine mid august)
Does anyone in here know if these plates actually work?
I see that they just added this recently
how tight is too tight?
in the case of breathing space
Hmm alright.. Better just wait i guess till someone tries this
yeah exactly
Probably depends on how much of an insulator the material is đ
ive seen these on taobao. The FR4 and CF plate have flexcuts which could cause some issues. The POM Plate is solid tho and should work no problem (source i also used a pom plate in my wooting without any issues)
Id avoid the FR4 and CF plates like the plague
im just using the wooting stock foam (i split the 2 pieces and am using the bigger one) alongside the very thin tofu foam
and the case is tofu 60 redux
is that too much?
The POM Plate for thock should be fine to use?
altho im positive that the cf plate could be fine as its pretty stiff, but only one way to find out...
I dont own a Tofu Redux but if the area is the same as the original Tofu then the single foam should be fine. 2 might be much
yea that would prolly be the best option
No flex cuts in the POM plate so should be fine.
Alrighty thanks guys
It might be fine, the FR4 I can almost guarantee would be a problem. Also the truth is, even with flex cuts they might be fine if you turn down your sensitivity. Flex cuts and trying to run a .2mm sen is going to cause problems
Who is they
KBDFans
yeah but you cant purchase it seperatly
Oh damn lol weird
yeah just saw..
They added 3 different 60HE plates in different materials but 2 of the plates have flex cuts in them making the point of the stand-offs useless
I wait for module anyway. Will eventually want to try aluminum plate tho.
nvm i found it https://kbdfans.com/collections/plate/products/compatible-accessories-for-wooting-60he
Estimated shipping date: To be updated Buy 1 plate will get 1 switch pad for free. Specs Plate material: POM, FR4 with flex cut, Carbon fiber with flex cut (with standoff screws) Switch pad: 0.5mm thickness, EVA material (It may affect the Pre-travel of the magnetic switches. Please install it according to your persona
Right yeah
So POM maybe
The module will come POM plate no?
If I got an acrylic case I might try Pom plate
Module with PC I believe
Different plastic lol
But both creat thock?
