LCD TVs use a very efficient LED backlight that then gets filtered through LCD pixels (think of them like shutters). Thus LED LCDs are more efficient at producing light which is why LCD devices can get a lot brighter then most OLED devices. This is simply down to Organic Light Emitting Diodes not being as efficient as traditional LEDs. I found a convenient graph showing off power vs brightness.

OLED however has an advantage in that it can power individual pixels rather then needing to power the entire backlight. So with dark mode enabled on most content OLEDs will consume less power as they only need to power a small number of pixels. Of course if you watch a video with a lot of bright colours the LCD is likely to win in terms of efficiency, but if you are using a phone where you might not need to watch much content your OLED will probably win in terms of efficiency.

Also you can make Discord darker by unlocking the secret AMOLED mode:

1. While using an Android device, go to the "Appearance" section of the user settings.
2. Tap the "Dark mode" option ten times.
3. Enable the toggle labeled "AMOLED optimized mode (experimental)"
