#

some got really close but no one got all of them

halcyon moss
#

although kubernetes should be its own class lol

wheat plume
#

Only 15 students left in my year

#

and 4 of those are exchange students

fair gull
#

microservices i do get your point drakonen but the rest is easy imo

#

its not like you need to recite the RFC specs

halcyon moss
#

kubernes contains a lot

fair gull
#

thats why i said microservices i get being its own thing would be better

#

but the rest goes kinda hand in hand

halcyon moss
#

kubernetes is not just for microservices though :p

#

but doesnt amtter

wheat plume
fair gull
#

isnt kubernetes a containerized deploy and management system

halcyon moss
#

yes

#

and monitoring

fair gull
#

so id guess most of it concerns microservices

#

like with docker

halcyon moss
#

it is well suiteed for it i think, but it dosent ahve to be

#

kubernetes uses docker

fair gull
#

oh? i thiught it has its own backend

halcyon moss
#

the containers, are docker containers

fair gull
#

i thought it could use lxc

#

good to know it uses docker containers

wheat plume
#

Ah yes, how HTTP works!

halcyon moss
#

thats a bda graphic it is messy, it doesnt make it clear

#

when is stuff happening?

wheat plume
#

Left to right

fair gull
#

thats not how those work

halcyon moss
#

yeah.. but thats not clear from the image

wheat plume
#

thats why he spent the last 20 minutes on this slide

halcyon moss
#

lol

fair gull
#

this is like

#

ngl

#

a really shitty slide

wheat plume
#

yeah, probably

halcyon moss
#

there are good uml style charts for this haha

fair gull
#

i am revising my statement

#

the topics shod be easy but will prob be hard due to teacher

wheat plume
#

"Marshalling" no longer sounds like a real word after this part of the lecture

halcyon moss
#

i never understood why its called like that

wheat plume
#

The Data Marshall is here to shoot down unwanted scum data

#

Lecturer: Tells us to open the f12 dev console in the browser to see the GET requests
Everyone: Ends up leaving and rejoining the class because you need to reload the page so it can log the requests for you

fair gull

wheat plume

wheat plume

but now I rebooted to windows and checked and its not enabled but BT is still fucked and idk why

#

but its not....

fair gull
#

why would windows fuck linux bt

wheat plume
#

fast startup can

fair gull

no

wheat plume
#

Yes

fair gull
#

no

#

its only influencing windows

wheat plume
#

it literalyl doesnty

fair gull
#

drives

wheat plume
#

it keeps the drivers locked, it stopped my wifi on Linux from working the few times I forgot to turn it off

ashen spindle
#

drives or drivers

fair gull
#

windows cant lock linux drivers

#

if windows could lock drivers from another os it could just lock the entire kernel

#

since linux drivers are inside the kernel

misty saffron
#

wtf

fair gull
#

so i did my own reading and fast startup only locks share partitons @ashen spindle @wheat plume

#

stop frickin blaming windows for shit it didnt do

misty saffron
#

how do you expect lana to stop blaming windows for anything

fair gull
#

idk

#

i feel like

#

linux users will always blame windows

#

i had someone tell me that they dont want windows on the second drive cause it makes the fan spin louder in linux

#

i really wanted to ask what weed the guy smoked

ashen spindle
fair gull
#

like i hate this discussion more and more

#

all operating systems suck one way or another

ashen spindle
#

yup I am currently hating both windows and linux due to having to rebuild some plugin on windows via powershell and chocolatey bc they couldnt be bothered making a normal guide to have the project run fine on linux without linux pretending the installed opengl doesnt exist

fair gull
#

i hate all big 3

#

win mac and unix

ashen spindle
#

see I like mac currently

#

bc the project doesnt run on it I dont have to babysit the project manager through it and can just say he'll get only images and videos and not the tool itself

fair gull
#

i mean i do like mac as a portable coding tool

#

really nice to code on the go with it

#

not a daily driver for me tho

#

linux could prob be the same as mac for me but macbooks are king rn and most laptops suck with linux cause somehow wifi drivers are hard

#

and windows is just too bloated for me on the go

#

but def my choice for daily driving

#

linux is my server os basically

#

only debian at that

ashen spindle
#

wonder if that niche goes away once web based IDEs become good enough so you can just code via chrome on windows and that removes bloat issues heh

fair gull
#

chromebook then

#

or just samsung dex or smth

#

also vscode web is already dope being able to open github repos via url

ashen spindle
#

see I wonder if ms are trying to compete on chromebook level with new hardware and have things that are mostly cloud based

fair gull
#

they are

ashen spindle
#

kinda like the plan to have xbox cloud console for gaming

fair gull
#

they wanna do arm aswell

ashen spindle
#

yea they have been hiring a lot of chip designers over the last while

#

so a ms version of M1 for laptops could come

#

would be cool

fair gull
#

if the surface books can be a macbook competitor

#

id be hyped

ashen spindle
#

well hardware wise they certainly will be, given who they have been hiring

#

forgot the link but recently saw they got a guy who literally has been lead dev at amd then intel then apple now MS lmao

fair gull
#

i mean it would also open the door for linux on arm notebooks

#

cause on mac they just got cockblocked

ashen spindle
#

I wouldn't be surprised if it'd end up in something like specialised hardware to accelerate WSL environement

misty saffron
fair gull
#

cause as quin has stated they did hire a ton of high profile chip designers

ashen spindle
#

by pretending current and older surfaces dont exist

fair gull
#

i wouldnt be surprised if they make arm surface lineups that are good

#

i wouldnt be surprised if they suck either

misty saffron
#

microsoft hasn’t been able to do shit for 10 years

#

well now it has to be good

ashen spindle
#

I think the chips wont suck but they could easily screw up marketing/packaging (so battery, screen, keyboard etc.)

fair gull
#

ya

ashen spindle
#

ah found it

#

now an MS person

#

also yet another person leaving apple which is a weird sign too

#

many key people on M1 design are no longer there

fair gull
#

ya u read about that

ashen spindle
fair gull
#

@ashen spindle distrib listing for 3090ti came up

crimson wigeon

ashen spindle

fair gull
#

wooting branded 3090 when

ashen spindle
#

also hey thats 900₹ cheaper than the leaked listing from saturday

#

what a steal

fair gull
#

900 what

ashen spindle
#

€

#

typo

fair gull
#

ah

#

i mean with vat it gets close

ashen spindle

nah that was also from a distrib listing lmao

so it ships as soon as its stocked

fickle ore
#

@ashen spindle dat pcie5 ssd u linked... would it work on a pcie 4.0 x16 port at the rated random IO speed?

#

Coz I'm jelly at ADL, and kinda wanna wait for the pcie5 ssd than buying one now

ashen spindle
#

uhhhhh no clue? I would imagine it can max out gen 4 speeds since it's just raw bandwidth increase and not protocol changes?

#

but i'd wait for zen4/rpl anyway

#

more mature ddr5 controllers and better ddr5 options

fickle ore
#

No idea bruv. I would've imagined the sequential speeds would've been capped at gen 4, but the random IOPS are very far from exceeding those speeds?

ashen spindle
#

oh I didnt remember what they were honestly

fickle ore
#

random iops was like 2.7 million or some shit, up from the current 1-1.5 mil

ashen spindle
#

are they even on sale already? I would imagine once they are someone will do a quick test of that on youtube

fickle ore
#

I haven't checked. I imagined that since the current ssd's are stuck at like 150 mb random reads, perhaps the gen4 wudve been enough. But then I remembered bandwith is just a measure of how many bits of data can move per second, and at microscale you may need gen5 to move that many bits at a given timeframe.. No idea at all, just thinking.

To lazy to google but not lazy enough not to type I guess

ashen spindle
#

relatable

#

either way I'd jump on the first ssd anyway bc it's muhc more likely there will be a somewhat better or much cheaper option just a bit later

fickle ore
#

ye true

ashen spindle
#

esp. when the entire platform is still new, since we dont have server tech that already has it or so

fickle ore
#

1tb doesnt cost that much anymore its not such a big loss I guess

not that i've ever had gpu issues really...

jetbrains ones i really like

halcyon moss

idk if vsc can do it

if it can its too complicated for my brain

reef tundra

halcyon moss

and the merge conflict tools is also nice

i once almost used jetbrains for .net reverse engineering

ya dotPeek

halcyon moss

also, there is this glitch too

Used to be a thin piece of crap that warped

#

octo they increased the price

I may need to clean install Windows as it turns out
Cause on first boot after turning the power back on, it doesnt find my Intel SSD and it also takes like 3 times longer to boot up so then I need to shutdown and reboot and it works fine then

I checked drive smart status but I dont think its that

old marlin
#

this is what you wanna see in licensed software

ashen spindle
#

mh yes high tech license solutions

cursive summit
old marlin
#

do I want a 2TB SSD

old marlin
fair gull
#

why does it say chia if its sealed

old marlin
#

prob bought it for chia

#

realized it is not worthwhile

#

even then

#

1200 TBW rating

fair gull
#

id prob go with samsung personally

#

they are 199 on most retailers for 2tb

#

dont trust wd ssds too much yet

old marlin
#

that model?

fair gull
#

2tb 970 evo are round 199 and also get 1.2pbw

old marlin
#

ig

#

damn SSDs are much cheaper than I expect

fair gull
#

depends on what u want really

#

normal use they are rather cheap

#

if u want enterprise its where they really suck money

timid chasm
#

not cheap enough yet*

#

gimme that uber cheap mass game storage pls

old marlin
#

now I just need a sale like I got on my monitors

old marlin
#

still 309€

#

damn

timid chasm
#

yes, I like that but look for the future when ssds can be had for the hdd prices we're seeing now

reef tundra
#

Chia? what

old marlin
#

basically a dead cryptocurrency

#

after people jumped off cause it is too rng

reef tundra
#

Great currency octo

crimson wigeon
#

And because it killed all their SSDs pepelaugh

old marlin
crimson wigeon
#

Bruh

old marlin
#

they switches to HDDs rather quick afaik

crimson wigeon
#

Of course

reef tundra
#

mm How many discovered the magic of hardware failing pretty regularly, when you got enough of them

fair gull
#

i mean the fact even 20tb hdds cost less than 18tb hdds after some point

#

this currency was completely disk space based wasnt it

ashen spindle
#

not entirely

#

you also need to constantly replot your plots so cpu IO bandwith matters and drive speeds

fair gull
#

so

reef tundra
fair gull
#

whats this myth of all these drives were only written to once

#

what many people claim when selling these

old marlin
#

they probably plotted once

#

got basically nothing

#

and decided to sell

ashen spindle
#

I imagine many people though that's how it would work and then realized it doesnt work that way

old marlin
#

since chia is stupid risky

ashen spindle
#

and noticed it's taking a long time to replot and would have to be done so the entire time

old marlin
#
  • most plots are not profitable
ashen spindle
#

and since all the official marketing weasels around that part and pretends its this eco friendly mining thing and only space matters

old marlin
#

and that system up there draws 450W

ashen spindle
#

easy to see how people would fall for it at first

old marlin
#

well it went from "just plug a big drive onto your normal PCB and essentialyl mine passively"

#

to "have a multiple hundred watt system running 24/7 to maybe get money or just loose a bunch of money"

ashen spindle
#

yup

old marlin
#

you can assume that that system up there takes AGES to replot all of those drives

#

there is a reason why most rigs in that capacity have 2-4 hosts

#

and not just 1

ashen spindle
#

oh absolutely, der8auer did a test and with pcie nvmes on his threadripper system it took a while to replot the entire thing

crimson wigeon
#

So it'd just be there 24/7 replotting, nice

old marlin
#

basically

crimson wigeon
#

Not that much different from the more typical GPU mining

old marlin
#

nah, with GPU mining you make a rather consistent amount

#

obv fluctuation etc

reef tundra
#

The amount of techwaste it all will generate in the end..

ashen spindle
#

the big difference is with most gpu miners you are using a pool to basically guarantee payout

old marlin
#

essentially

ashen spindle
#

they might have that by now but at the start and weeks later they did not have pools

old marlin
#

dunno if there are chia pools

#

but I assume there are not

#

at least not commonly used

ashen spindle
#

and even if they exist now, now it's already out for long enough that the chances are low to begin with and are only getting worse

old marlin
#

btw

#

guys sells that rig as 14 days till it pays itself

#

so as 1.3k€ a day

#

why should anyone sell that

#

when owning it means you don't have to go to work

#

since you make like 38k a month

crimson wigeon
#

Sharing is caring

old marlin
#

obv

#

he would need to do 800k plots

#

aka

#

80 PiB

#

not 0.5

ashen spindle
#

maybe seller is looking at chia price on the start when it was 1k per coin not 80$

old marlin
crimson wigeon
#

Nah it's totally going to the moon!

#

Just look at all these amazing things you can do with it!

reef tundra
#

Can it atleast launder some illgotten gains?

#

Oh, I know! You can speculate with it..

old marlin
#

ah btw

#

takes 5 years till it pays for itself

#

with current chia price

#

in that pool

ashen spindle
#

you dont know the secret

#

just get lucky and it pays off in one day maybe

old marlin
#

aka

#

prob not

#

might as well gamble

reef tundra
#

Like a lottery blobaww

ashen spindle
#

or just overclock the drives to run thrice as fast

reef tundra
#

But with less regulation

old marlin
#

Toshiba Enterprise Capacity MG09ACA 18TB costs 289€ atm

#

makes about 33 cents a day

#

VERY worthwhile

#

so it takes almost 1k days till it pays for itself

reef tundra
#

33 cent.. bruto or netto

old marlin
#

if it writes itself

#

and takes no power

old marlin
#

that is what the pool gives you

#

so in germany -20% on mining

#

and -50% on cashing out

crimson wigeon
#

Why -50% are you implying you wouldn't evade taxes?

old marlin
#

well

#

that is the thing

reef tundra
#

Wont have to worry about all that mm there will be nothing to tax

old marlin
#

you can just conveniently cash out on every dip

#

and you pay less

#

you still pay it though

#

and you have to either cash out monthly or yearly

#

and you can deduct losses from mining from your tax

#

makes chia a bit more safe ig

old marlin
#

lol

#

well

#

it is true

#

buying a 4GB card today is kind of a bad idea

reef patrol
#

This comes ahead of the RX 6500 XT launch at 2pm today, a graphics card with just 4GB of video memory, that has already received heavy criticism online.

old marlin
#

not like you got much of a choice

crimson wigeon
#

omegalul

reef tundra
#

You mean you can deduce the costs from your taxable income that year.
Not the ability to carry losses from previous years to the next/current year?

old marlin
#

dunno what you mean

#

but the law is stupid anyways

#

usually most people make a small multiple person company "gbr" and are then able to deduct the losses on their income tax on the current year

ashen spindle
#

dont think the 6500xt would've come to desktop in a normal market, but certainly funny to make fun of marketing now that it did happen

old marlin
#

yea atm spamming all possible chips to all possible plattforms is a good ida

#

can't fault them for that

#

pricing is ass

#

cause all pricing is ass

#

so asking for less just leads to retailers adding what AMD would add as markup anyways

ashen spindle
#

release it and people get mad for it being bad value, dont release it and people get mad for lower end market not being serverd

#

damned if you do damned if you dont

old marlin
#

price of the card does not change

#

just who gets the money

ashen spindle
#

still a company so not getting any sympathy and it's right to call it shit, but on the other hand there isn't much they can do

old marlin
#

at least 580 prices drop atm

old marlin
#

and AMD managed to get out of that by nvidia being worse in that regard

ashen spindle
#

though I do like them making more money so stocks go up and I can afford a new gpu from that dogekek

old marlin
#

lol

pale sigil
#

@ashen spindle @chrome minnow

#

He needs a new 8 pin psu cable, afaik it's risky buying a random one online right

ashen spindle
#

what

pale sigil
#

Like a random 8 pin for your psu

ashen spindle
#

not enough in the box you bought it?

pale sigil
#

Is risky right?

#

He lost the box

#

Ocz700mxsp

#

BTW

ashen spindle
#

just buy one from caseking or mindfactory or from any psu maker that sells them directly

#

if you mean 2$ amazon cables yes those I'd avoid just to be sure

chrome minnow
#

I couldn't even find singular 8 pin male to 8 pin male cables. It's all sketchy splitters

#

Or only extensions

ashen spindle
#

let me guess, for a 12 pin rtx card?

chrome minnow
#

Gpu has 2x 8 pin

#

I only have a 8 pin and a 6 pin cable right now

ashen spindle
pale sigil
#

Being honest

ashen spindle
#

or w/e else if you want a different color

pale sigil
#

Considering how much you paid for the 3080

#

I'd rather get a new psu

chrome minnow
#

Considering how much I paid for the 3080 I'm broke

ashen spindle
#

should've paid less then 😛

pale sigil
#

Just use the tax savings innit

#

He did what you did Quin

chrome minnow
#

Jk I'm not broke but I don't wanna pay more

ashen spindle
#

but yeah this is just the first result I found on caseking, they name the maker so just take whatever seasonic/bequiet or similar cable you want

ashen spindle
pale sigil
#

No, he bought it thorough business

#

Like you did for ac

chrome minnow
ashen spindle
#

just get cheap card, what is problem dogekek

pale sigil
#

I miss my 1070 ti

chrome minnow
#

I had a 1070 and I wanted a bigger upgrade

pale sigil
#

Downside of selling to a random reddit user is not knowing how she's doing

ashen spindle
#

want my 1080? good deal of only 700€ for you dogekek

pale sigil
#

My radeon 6850 is still going strong

#

Same with my 270x

pale sigil
#

And my gtx 970

#

All still alive

chrome minnow
#

But yeah prices won't go down for forever so I just forked over 1.6k € now than wait till September for new cards

pale sigil
#

Poor 970 is being abused by tarkov tho

reef patrol
#

Hodlthefcukup

You need a new PSU to Motherboard cable? Not an extender? DEFINITELY check that you get the right one, cause using the wrong one WILL turn your PSU and PC into charcoal.

ashen spindle
#

^

pale sigil
#

@chrome minnow sell the 1070 ASAP tho

reef patrol
#

What PSU?

pale sigil
#

Maximise the profit

pale sigil
ashen spindle
#

also september, you are quite optimistic my friend lol

reef patrol
#

Oof

ashen spindle
#

series question when was the last time you had a psu that did not follow pcie spec pinout

reef patrol
#

Every single manufacturer swaps pins around on the PSU end.

#

Hell some of them even have multiple standards.

ashen spindle
#

for the pcie pins?

reef patrol
#

For - all - of their cables.

#

Corsair left, Be Quiet right.

chrome minnow
ashen spindle
#

given that basically matches the original price I would call that worth it imo

#

for a now 6 year old design

#

though if you can make use of it that changes things of course

chrome minnow
#

yeah but the time investment and shipping lol

pale sigil
chrome minnow
#

when you are used to that shit and already have an ebay account might be true

ashen spindle
#

put it up on kleinanzeigen then and list as no shipping and just pick up

chrome minnow
ashen spindle
#

assuming mining doesnt crash I assume it stays for a while yes

pale sigil
#

I sold my 1070ti after a few hours

ashen spindle
#

I dont think amd or nvidia will have new cards before Q4

#

intels gpus are laptop first

#

so shouldn't cause massive changes in the close future

#

though I assume it will drop off a bit after that

chrome minnow
#

even then i doubt prices will go down cause they will only manufacture 20 gpus again

#

maybe 30 if they are generous

ashen spindle
#

nah, for one they can produce new and old gen at the same time

#

since they use different nodes

#

so they aren't using the same wafers

chrome minnow
#

@pale sigil ordered it. hope it arrives within 6 months😂

ashen spindle
#

though if you are aiming for a top gpu next gen you might as well upgrade your psu now already dogekek

chrome minnow
#

i dont like when my account balance goes down though and im not an ocd pc builder🙃

ashen spindle
#

oh it's not about OCD it's about you absolutely will need more power than you have currently lol

chrome minnow
#

for a 3080? EVERYONE online says 700W is enough

ashen spindle
#

no I mean the next gen

#

for the 3080 it's fine

#

since you said you are waiting for that to come

chrome minnow
#

nope. after this purchase im not gonna upgrade again. fuck that.

reef patrol
#

Famous last words.

ashen spindle
#

ahh so you meant getting one now rather than wait gotcha

#

read that as you will get a next gen on release

chrome minnow
#

only needed an rtx card for raytracing rendering and im gonna use it till the god damn pc dies

ashen spindle
#

famous last words indeed dogekek

chrome minnow
#

just gonna buy a prebuilt next time

ashen spindle
#

they are not cheaper

#

well I guess they were for maybe 2 weeks until enough people bought them to get the gpu and sell the other parts

chrome minnow
#

the 1070 got me through 6 years. i would hope the market has recovered in another 6 years😅

ashen spindle
#

recovered yes, returned to lower prices? hard to say given its getting more and more expensive to make them

#

and we are also unlikely to have a filler series like rtx20xx so also more incentive for stuff to get better

#

but who knows, maybe lockdown #17 has changed things by then

fair gull
#

so i got a weird case of a corsair aio that shreds its fans on the cooler

#

customer stated they got the aio replaced as it had the same problem already and now the new cooler does the exact same

#

was installed properly and im really unsure why they wobble so much

ashen spindle
#

shreds the fans? so the blades dont fit in the fan housing?

old marlin
#

are the fans in a pull configuration when they are doing that

fair gull
#

they pull air in

fair gull
#

they wobble and shred themselves on the cooling fins

ashen spindle
#

oof

fair gull
#

one wobbles so much it gets stuck and doesnt start

ashen spindle
#

just glue it down so it cant move anymore

#

cant shred anything then anymore

fair gull
#

just confused since i sell these aios often

#

none have those issues

ashen spindle
#

bad batch of fans or so maybe

fair gull
#

any good am4 air cooler recommendations?

old marlin
#

which CPU

#

which budget

#

and which case

ashen spindle
#

U12S what I have with my 5600x and it's nice and quite and exists in black if wanted over the regular brown

#

classic nhd15 if you want something heavier

#

assuming it's not small form factor/super budget limited

old marlin
#

nhd15 not worth it

#

you can get arctic freezer II for that money

ashen spindle
#

air cooler

old marlin
#

ah

chrome minnow
#

i really only upgraded it now for work and some vr games. in most games i could still run high settings 1080p around 60-80 fps and i doubt thats gonna change anytime soon

crimson wigeon
#

No you're doing it wrong you should crank it up to ultra and then cry game is not optimized

fair gull
old marlin
#

played ror2 yesterday an my 1080ti is not able to manage to keep it at above monitor refresh rate

fair gull
#

budget is irrelevant

old marlin
#

ah ye U12S should be more than good enough

#

would prob recommend the fuma 2 over it

#

ye same

#

165 in my case

#

was hovering between 120 to 165

fair gull
#

fuma2 is kinda overboard tho no?

old marlin
#

NH-U12S costs the same amount

#

same

#

but if you get a 3080 from an NBB drop you can flip it and buy a 3090 for essentially the same money from the next NBB drop

#

ah

#

well

#

rip

#

also no NBB drops for you obv

#

NBB is a retailer

#

drops FE cars at MSRP in rather regular intervals

#

with decent chances of getting one without botting

#

but if you got a 3080 atm

#

you can just sell it

fair gull
#

gpu is dead aswell it seems

old marlin
#

and either get a permanently in stock 6900xt

#

or wait for the next nbb drop

#

and get a 3090

#

latter is easy to get

#

since most scalpers want a 3080 themselves

#

more profit

#

very true

#

but a 3090 is almost an entire month of wage after tax for me

#

I mean at msrp

#

around 1,5k

#

€ that is

#

for FE obv

#

also "trying more" does not guarantee you more money

#

ye same

#

ig it would count as trying more though

#

since atm you can make a decent living with that

#

each 3080 you get is like 700€

#

in profit

#

and some people get enough to quit their job

#

and just flip GPUs

#

obv not a good plan for the future

#

ye

crimson wigeon
#

Oh come on you know you want to be part of the problem

old marlin
#

the scalpers are not part of the problem

#

if it wasn't them raising prices it would be retailers and manufacturers

#

that is how open market works

#

just a supply/demand issue

wheat plume
wheat plume
#

when I get my own place, I really want to have something like this to automate things

#

its really cool stuff

fair gull
#

so.... its still vulnerable

wheat plume
#

huh?

fair gull
#

it has internet thus it is vulnerable

#

who knows what 0 day bugs in a kernel might show up

wheat plume
#

yeah, but at least with this, its all a local server, none of your data is sent to a cloud service

fair gull
#

well imma save my money and just stay with light switches and what not i guess

#

did i say dont get it?

wheat plume
#

id still never get a google home or alexa

fair gull
#

i wont get any smart anything

#

nor do i talk to my phone

#

the guy in the video said its not vulnerable to hacking

#

plain wrong

#

dont disagree

#

but those statements are what normal people pick up as fact

#

u cant imagine how many people claim their phone cant have water inside

#

cause its water resistant

#

yes

#

hf explaining that at least once a week

wheat plume
#

"That's what she SSID"
:') best wifi name LOL

fair gull
#

u wouldnt work in that field

#

cause its windows only

#

unless u only do phones

#

well i usually just hand those people to my boss

#

oh no i would ignore family

#

i have to do this to get paid

no real choice sometimes

plus the only contact i have with my family is on birthdays or christmas

that's the way it works

may as well see if you can get a software dev job in one of Nederland's big cities

fair gull

already thought of that

crisp granite

better pay, quality of life and being closer, possibly moving in with gf

wheat plume

this is good and all but the website doesnt work on Chrome sometimes

crisp granite
wheat plume

im unsure what u mean doge

i mean cupsize

crisp granite

fair gull

@misty saffron pls explain

misty saffron
#

cupsize sounds hot doesn’t it

wheat plume
#

wtf is qwiklabs?

fair gull
#

no

#

nuclear fusion sounds hot

fair gull
wheat plume
#

no, the lecturer for a new class this semester added us to a credit share group on Qwiklabs

#

but idk what that means

ashen spindle
fair gull
crisp granite
wheat plume
#

I did, seems to use google drive to do shit on cloud

crisp granite
#

google.urmom

fair gull
wheat plume
#

C U R S E D

fair gull
#

why would it use drive

misty saffron
fair gull
wheat plume
#

Qwiklabs seems to specifically only use Google cloud, interesting

fair gull
#

cause thats a service of google

#

its called Google Cloud Services

#

it has compute, big data

#

and a fuck ton more

#

kubernetes

#

etc etc

wheat plume
#

Qwiklabs website also uses material design, which is like the other google sites

#

oh, wait there is ONE not google service xd

misty saffron
#

we are a google service

#

today we using aws

fair gull
#

cause google doesnt wanna pay licenses for AD

wheat plume
#

Fair

fair gull
#

and mircosoft can basically do it for free on azure

wheat plume
#

idek what AD is

fair gull
#

active directory

wheat plume
#

but what it do?

#

Seems to host a folder on cloud?

fair gull
ashen spindle
wheat plume
#

I just did

crisp granite
ashen spindle
#

damn

fair gull

then did u aslo read where it says A server running the Active Directory Domain Service (AD DS) role is called a domain controller. It authenticates and authorizes all users and computers in a Windows domain type network, assigning and enforcing security policies for all computers, and installing or updating software.

they aint bringing it back

ashen spindle

they didn't state they are not going to fix it

wheat plume

its been 5 months

ashen spindle

¯_(ツ)_/¯

fair gull

its generally ok to use when its introduced

wheat plume
#

Gnome shell is written in JavaScript and has the smoothest animations that I know of

#

(other than dragging an application window around the screen)

misty saffron
wheat plume
#

yeah, for sure

ashen spindle
#

not sure why it matters what gnome is written in, if something has a bug it's not working and if it's not an easy fix then disabling that can be valid

wheat plume
#

the taskbar animations with the way the app icons move around is really nice

reef tundra
#

mm Ah yes where only the gnome shell has to take the shitter to have everything take the shitter

wheat plume
#

I do wish gnome shell added the panel to the second monitor also, the extension I used to use no longer works on version 40

.-. oh

Because you are using gnome
