Raid is redundancy, not backups.

So for backups you want the data stored on site and off site, preferably in multiple raids in multiple locations. Provides backups and redundancy for those backups.

A good example would be storing some important files on a RAID6 both on site and off site with cold backups in both locations. That’s what I’d consider a stable backup scheme. You write to the RAIDs every day or two and copy all data to the cold backups every week or so.

With the backup schema being incremental, of course. Don’t wanna be writing fuckloads of data all the time.
