new 3ds xl
Well, what about ds?
hope i can find them
what do i pay for them
i paid like 50 bucks for my vita
and bought the new 3ds xl from a friend for about 100
perfect condition also
this aint a pr release really, this is a slide for tech reporters and such
hotchips isn't something investors look at
Do you think tech reporters understand tech? 😄
the ones that attend hotchips? yes
I kinda want a vita and I really want an n2dsxl
Jesus that's bad
Microsoft could end up just disabling their driver, so should not be too late before something happens
Razer is so dumb as a company. What kind of company decides it's a good idea to open an install prompt every time you plug in one of their products?
good mice
windows does that
usb speakers?
you bought razer speakers? O-o
Yes
Well also no
I got them from a purchase I made at the store that sold them
As a raffle ticket
And I won one of the top 6 tickets and this was what I got
They’re not too bad actually the razer speakers. I had them at some point and while I wouldn’t recommend them. If you get they cheapest ones they’re pretty good for the price
@fair gull we might buy a haswell based almost supercomputer

might be a supercomputer
unsure
wha
old high power cluster
from a university
on haswell architecture
tons of IBM blades
or lenovo blades
dunno who ran the servers at that time
Aorus z590 master is great board with lot of bonuses - free broken temp sensor reader, free completely unsynced RGB, and as a bonus if you have purchased during period gigabyte was offering “cash back” for writing a review, you won’t heard of it ever again. 10/10 recommend
so what is the Z590 board to get
Buy a wooting instead
good idea
Already have one
how many pcie slots does it have
one with AM4 socket
Not the best combination with some AN4 boards too considering USB issues
They did fix the USB issues though :
yup
Heard that some people got 3 fix bioses and it still didn’t fix
If a board has the .2 AGESA patch, it should be resolved.
Also nvm not temp sensor reader my head does not work. Two 2 pin connectors next to each other having same shape, of course I plugged it into wrong one
Finally can see water temps

Temperature probes typically have no polarity. unless there is some circuitry inbetween the sensor and you
Yeah, issue is I plugged it into what appears to be cmos reset instead since it was close and had the same shape

But it didn’t do anything luckily
But it looked better in cmos reset pins, was closer to the edge of board
Thats why you label and sometimes cut off header pins. Trap for young players
Well now it’s solved
My cpu just chilling in desktop at 30c too, and that 11900k is power hungry
Yea, intel went with the more power to gain more performance technique
Tbh 11900k can eat a lot of power, but it has great thermal conductivity, so it does not get hot unless it’s really under lot of load with increased voltages and clocks
You mean the thermal sink being able to keep sinking that thermal load
Sure, you need to have good cooler, but if yes, then it really Does not get so hot *
it has a big area due to large cores
that causes heat to spread out
so it doesnt get as hot but still uses more power
if they would not have reduced core count it would've also been way worse
Something needs to keep tanking that thermal energy. conductivity only determines how quickly it can transfer it to other mediums.
Sure, but with good enough coolers conductivity is also quite important.
Which is the case for me since until I get GPU there are two thick 360 rads to cool one cpu.
Also did me closing app just reset calibration of display and it’s gamma and now it looks terrible. Thanks windows.
not windows fault...
not applying a setting on close without confirmation is something possible on everything
I had the calibration set for multiple days
Drivers are responsible for handling GPUs. Windows is responsible for handling the drivers and keeping them alive.
And it was saved
Closed completely unrelated app and it went away
Actually clicked on close button on hwinfo64 and instead of closing app it reset the calibration and I had to click again.
Windows cannot know if the driver is working correctly. Only if its doing something and not crashing.
wait so you did color calibration on something thats neither the driver nor the monitor?
No, I did color calibration long ago in windows, and now after a long time it just stopped working by me closing unrelated app that had nothing to do with calibration
So maybe that unrelated app did that?
ngl I didnt even know the color calibration with profiles there works for anything besides pro software that uses the profiles
anything else I always did in either driver or monitor settings
No idea. But idk how would hwinfo do it by me pressing close button, especially since I have already done that many times before without this happening. Sure, may be apps fault too, but pressing close button causing color calibration to go away sounds like a windows bug to me. Especially since system was completely stable at that time with cpu turbo even disabled.
Lol people thinking modern desktop class CPUs are power hungery
Just wait for newer gens if you want higher power numbers
You can start complaining when you're delaminating power planes
Well at least we’re not getting CPU’s that come close to what gpus are gonna pull
Back in my extreme AM3 overclocking days I killed a number of 990 FX's because the board swelled from heat breaking the vias
Boards are atleast built better now
Though we regressed on heat sinks for a long time because the vrms.got so efficient at stock
can't just call a bald man a ball mouse...
Oh you are doing a master bait 🤔
Take a look at ploopy. They make open-source ball mice.
Honestly, I almost fell for the ball mouse meme. Still considering it for a workstation as long as I have a different mouse dedicated to gaming.
My cpu under 5% load during some games

5950x life is always under 5
Ever tried Minecraft?
Minecraft could get my cpu to 98c. Literally temps only linpack would hit, with no other stability tests coming even close
I mean sure, that was by blowing up tnt carpet, but still
Everybody is gangsta until the TI-84 calculators gets pulled to run doom
if only they would make a public roadmap for gpus again
intel meanwhile showing malder lake and confirming they really need win11 for it to run as it should
err wrong picture for that
and of course intel has to be special and calls their DPUs IPUs zzz
I mean to be fair there are no names that more than one vendor has approved
And uh
Dpu is an awful name
What processing unit doesn't process data???
ehh sure I'm open for that argument, I just really hate companies reinventing names for the same thing they just slightly tweak and act like its something really different and all
like if nvidia would've called it IPU I'm 100% certain intel would've not called it IPU
Everyone was calling them smartnics before and everyone was happy
Oh wait I stand corrected
Fungible calls them dpus
But for fungible it's Distributed not Data PU
idc just agree on one thing and not have 4 different names for the same shit xD
also fun tidbit, they made it sound like zen3 was fully designed with V Cache in mind
It was
so there is some small chance they wanted to have v Cache on zen3 release
and tsmc was not ready yet
ehh, aside from this talk I dont remember any point where that was implied?
If you have a really good sanding machine you could add it to your z3
It's the same die as current dies
Except for the whole being sanded down part
ik they have the connection points and all, but till now I think it always was made to sound like it was planned to not have a redesign and add V cache added later, not that they were forced to wait
the worrying part about that, if that was a delay I just hope it's a one time hiccup and not TSMC doing an intel
What's the difference
And whatever, tsmc never promised
Intel broke promisee
well yeah hence I only hope it's either not the case or just a one time thing
though not really worried even if that were the case, given how it works now and even intels foveros is int he future and still not even close to the same bonding thinness
Cold welding is a bit jank to be fair
But if they can get it consistent then more power to them
it's just impressive that tsmc got bump height down to 9 microns and intel is only targeting 10 with foveros-next in like 25
ah, correction, Q3 23
granted it's not the exact same tech
Definitely not
Dick Processing Unit
Foveros is like balancing on a pogo stick where tsmc 3d stacking is like firmly planting yourself on the base
It's alot harder and i don't see the point but making it work is alot more impressive lol
from my (rather limited understanding I admit) I think the denser packing is important for future tech such as in die liquid cooling etc.
Oh this is unrelated to that
Physical connections (and therefore thermal) are alot easier than electrical
I can't find what I was looking for, I thought AT had a short part showing how the denser packaging was related
might look for it tomorrow
For direct (like foveros direct and tsmc 3d) it doesn't matter
maybe im mixing it up with something else, but I certainly remember something about a future packaging tech that is related to bump height
but 2am aint the time to remember big brain things I dont even fully understand lmao
Well bump height sure
But foveros direct and tsmc 3d don't have bumps
At least not in the 3d sense
The bumps have area but not volume
ya I think I do see the misunderstand I had
cowos and info are different things etc.
I need to find a good book on uArch design at some point so my brain stops frying itself
This is alot lower level than uarch design lol
CowOS?
Damn... I knew the cows were hiding something
yeah maybe easier is the wrong word, makes more sense for me as I want to better understand wtf my code is doing when it gets executed and for that uArch > substrate tech
not that I expect to understand it all in a couple weeks lmao
Won't help with understanding the phy magic
and currently I don't even touch c or c++ code so it's not even relevant to my work but I just want to know it better
Close but not entirely
I blame obama for this
also the worst part about understanding, when you know someone gets a bad deal and can't help
friend in the uk needs a new pc/gpu and holy shit knowing what he gets for the money physically hurts me
Because it cost an arm and a leg? Would make sense to hurt.
this pc we're looking at is 700pound over msrp prices and just has a 6700xt
Quid.
I know pound and quid are interchangeable but I just love reading and saying quid. It's a fun word.
brexit means brexit.
yeah brexit means I cant grab a FE card at msrp and easily send it over sadly lmao
Pro se is also a fun word
it is not only about @Razer.. it is possible for all.. just another priv_escalation with @SteelSeries

gg is such a shithow
Seems like any USB device that installs software upon plugging in is fucked
Wooting should capitalise on the situation with marketing that they dont autoinstall software and are safer or something
Tbh don’t think everything should be just capitalized in, especially since wooting normally does not go so far with marketing
not a new problem entirely
doesnt matter, ypu jus need to bring a razer mouse
wtf
old hp storeserv stuff is chap af
a shlf with 48 1.8TB drives
only costs 4.8k
Those drives are probably minutes away from failing
probably
comes with 12 months of warranty
even if you buy a new one every year and write the old one off
it is cheap
loosing data isnt though!
That’s why you buy a second rack to back up the first rack
also consider power usages, thats stuff (especially in germany) isnt cheap!
I wonder if anyone has stored crypto on a drive only for the drive to die in storage or something
thing is
welll... i have my wallet file in a very strongly encrypted zip file and i dont have the password
harddrives are becomming something of a special use case these days, normal consumers are generally better off with just ssds
Data hoarders tho
yeah special use :p
I should probably get a nas
desktop use? fuck no. gaming? nope
we can get empty IBM DCS3700
and just throw in some new drives
like seagate ironwolf Rrecue+ drives or some shit
Aren’t there super fast hard drives entering the enterprise space?
Super fast as in sata ssd
Like a hard drive that can sustain 500MBps
Diablo 2 Resurrected loads zones super fast on my Intel 900p 280gb 😄
I'm gonna be THE Baalrunner
https://www.servethehome.com/seagate-exos-2x14-mach-2-500mbps-hard-drive-launched/ yeah these things
500MBps spinning rust
I imagine they’ll have better sustain than most SSDs
Since SSDs basically go down to hdd after they run out of cache
which monitor do you have?

i mean its only 192tb raw right
no raid
actually
id need
like
one of those with 16tb drives in it
need
idk if i ever posted the complete size of my google drives
but its over 160tb
and rising
quickly actually
and i really want to keep a local copy
yes
How much does that cost? wtf
ah
At some point, you sent 160TB data to google drive....
how beast is your internet speed?
no
its already a nice archive
and sometimes has stuff archive.org doesnt
94TB of video...
i nedd it to be accessible like any network drive
and just fine for archiveable stuff
esxi with SAN access would be nicest

I hate how germany uses , as the tens seperater
why esxi with san access
same
makes typing ips with numpad terrible
cause you need 2 hands
wha
since the numpad has , on it
huh?
instead of .
OO
Europe* Europe does xD
1,6TB etc
the decimal separator
oh ya
Wait... no wait..
not all of europe
most of the european countries do
not all of them
afaik germany is the major one with close to 100% of market share of their own keyboard layout
eh
a lot of asian countries use similar systems
a LOT better than the roman numeral system at least
yeh it might be :P
do you need to use . to divide the rest?
such as 1.000.000 is one million?
you havent been a programmer for very long eh :p
localization of these kind of things suck balls
😶
why only 30?
thats what it defaulted to. it is horrible
it felt like my laptop was fail8ing to keep up 😒
but at 60hz it is fine
only 60 hz
well 4k60 is fine for office work
depends what "office work" is
typing software :p
gotta have something to do between those meetings amirite?
but ye 60 is fine for that, but good monitors these days do 75 at least
I mean I do like my 100hz for visual studio already, makes scrolling and so just a tad smoother. Though obviously not insanely needed
true, it is absolutely nicer... for my own screen i might get a second 27" 1440p screen with something above 100hz.
currently at a desk of a friend in a coworking space
display scaling in linux has.. issues.. when reconnecting etc
can u at least use proper code tags
how is this not proper?
2.000.000.000,45 is the only true format.
yes
this is from the web version
k
ok it seems markdown does support double backticks but should only be used when you expect to use singular backticks inside that inline codeblock
guess its a case of not all renderers support it
I have been trying to tell me self to now upgrade my monitor for months lol
I have a 2-3 year old lg oled
It's only 4k60
They have 4k120 now
if you use it for work, do it
if its just for gaming wait till end of next year for new gpus
thats my view on it
whats wrong with it?
it was discussed below it.. read :p
1M for the real Gs
oh
1M RP BET RN
huh?
Gold trims are sold out
It's lost prob 1/4 of it's brightness
But some how I have no burn in
no burn in if you just make sure all are burned equally
oh boy that is a lot 😮
or.. was it super bright before? and now its just "bright"
maybe u just got used to the brightness
so 40bucks
Large oled displays are typically not that bright, the new 2021 lg panels are.
oi dont ruin my deal
that just makes it worse
tf you realise after hours you are just stupid and had the nullcheck the wrong way
I mean, I am doing great, all the code works fine now, fixed all the dozen issues it had in short time!
oof
"yes, only grab the object if the hand is NOT close to it"
OLED aren't ever super bright at tv size
You can't really have the windows open
Luckily I am a nerd and have all my windows blacked out
And have red lighting for night time lol
hello i am now french

Ah oui oui bonjour magnifique
Je m’appelle baguette si vois plait une bibliotheque de croissant

Ew mlid
yeah its weird, the guy started of with clearly fake leaks and not a lot of understanding
and now has had some accurate intel leaks for whatever reason
still dont think he really gets most of it though
There's a guy I know trying to clean up the leak community and apparently they are trying with mlid
Shouldn't be saying anything physically impossible any more
I'm just so confused why anyone at intel would leak things to him, when so far he had wrong leaks and not technically versed
ok sure, then same about whoever ends up being his source
since he was the only one in western media at least who got some of these things
Like what
XeSS name and how it works
How long ago?
uhh march I think?
Was that part of the shotgun Intel leak?
Yep! Four months ago I leaked pretty much everything you need to know about top @Intel Arc including XeSS:
https://t.co/wEfJxC5BkG
And I also provided a performance, supply, and launch update 7 weeks later:
https://t.co/cZLuoSUOS2 https://t.co/OjXLAjsO3R
Yea that video was a huge shotgun
I mean it has rest things that we dont know yet that coudl still be accurate
I think that was also the first mention that it was N6 design and not internal? not too sure there
Nah
Tsmc was known in early 2020
err I'm pretty sure HPG wasn't really known that early
On future node right when n7+ was released
iirc HPG was announced to the stack at a later date than the other models
512eu has existed for 2 years afaik
The only things that mlid could have gotten that weren't leaked ahead of time were "alchemist, battlemage, etc"
Those were the only thing we didn't have pre info about afaik
well I didnt watch his slides so I trusted what people said about them on twitter, and supposedly alchemist and alder lake infos were accurate form him
He had the name before this month?
but in the end I dont really care because it's hard to understand why someone would get infos they absolutely dont understand the topic deeper than regular end user benchmarks
It's just about popularity
If you make your name leaking info super early that's where leakers go
And if the leakers don't vanish after the first minor leak then they know they can trust mlid
Point is it's safe to ignore them
so sleep time it is, sounds good
I know of a few folks who troll mlid with dum info
So far only a small number of them have made it through but some is enough
Uncle: brings his old ass tablet down cause there is a problem
Uncle: tells me that he cant watch a livestream on the tablet because the app wont install
Me: opens the play store, finds the app, the ply store tells him it's not compatible with his device
Me: "This tablet is too old, it needs a newer version of Android"
Uncle: "What does that mean?"
Me: "The OS is called Android, you have ANDROID 4 and it is not supported anymore"
Uncle: "So you cant fix this?"
Me: "nope"
Uncle: "Why the hell are you doing computers then? You seem to know nothing, I thought you could fix everything? Why cant you fix a simple tablet?"
ANDROID
FUCKING

THATS PRE GEN 1 OF MATERIAL DESIGN
I find it funny how almost every single person I meet that goes in for computer science becomes the tech support for their family and it's almost always issues like "I can't print my word document!" when they never hit the print button.
I once read a post on facebook, about a women working in an office calling tech support because the printer glitches out when she uses it
Turns out she was resting her chest ON THE BUTTONS as she was using it and it registered multiple button inputs at once
Bruh.
Level 8 problems, I tell you.
That sounds about right.
Luckily, she didnt act strange when tech support told her the issue....
I'm starting to wonder how some people got passed step one of using a computer: pressing the power button.
There was one lady in a rich Texas neighbourhood that bought a new laptop multiple times per week because she didn't know that you were supposed to charge it and thought they were one-time use.
tbf, my computer isnt built very well
the front case fan is connected just to power
the led in the reset button is connected to disk drive activity it seems
BRUH WHAT THE FUCK?!

WTF she do with the "old" ones? and the fuck ton of cables and shit?!
It's a story from someone I used to be friends with that worked at that computer store. He regularly got $100+ tips because the people didn't understand what money was.
Same.
I would want to as well but American healthcare isn't good at all.
^^ yep .-.
I need a good healthcare system that is free because I tend to use it a lot.
luckily i dont get sick often, just colds and things that go away in a few days
yes, but being trans also doesnt help reduce how many times you use the health care system cause you need medication frequently
I use healthcare a minimum of once per month and that is already $100/month. I don't need a more expensive bill.
I suppose that is the pharmaceuticals side but still.
Are pharmaceuticals free in some parts of Europe?
I fucking hate when boomers with crappy android 4 tablets tell me I dont know shit about computers because I cant install an app that is too new for that android version
depends on the medicine in NL
My grandparents asked me a few years ago to help them get a new mobile phone since flip phones were phased out here. I had to guide them through the marketing stuff to get them a basic phone that did everything they wanted: calling and texting.
It took so many tries for them to explain that they only wanted those two things and once the sales representative understood they were baffled.
oo
I mostly stood there awkwardly and pointed at cheap phones that were good enough for them.
My mom seems to love telling me how much she hates her smartphone and how pissed off she is when I convinced her to get one and swap away from her old ass Nokia with the numpad
Yet, she is always using her phone for shop vouchers and youtube and music and browsing internet
So she clearly likes it
My parents complain that phones are so expensive and how they are tight on money but continue to upgrade their phones the day they are eligible. It's kind of depressing.
She already getting used to scanning the phone at the checkout to apply vouchers for grocery shopping... xd
.-.
My uncle upgrades HIS CAR EVERY YEAR
but he still daily drives an iPhone 4 and he runs a business off that thing cause he doesnt have a computer at home, only a laptop that runs Vista
Exploits.
Im like WTF?!
Exploits and malware.
My parents are great at doing the opposite of what they say.
They say to get old cars because they are cheap and reliable, then buy cars from 2017 and complain about how long it takes to pay off.
..
My mom is terrified of the idea of buying an electric car
"The government are going to force us to buy electric cars soon"
"The government doesnt realise that no one can afford electric cars yet they will get rid of petrol ones"
I am too but for different reasons than most people. I don't want a GPS, microphone array, cameras and more tracking everything I do and sending that back to a company.
I want a car like my current one: old, cheap, reliable, and does what I want but nothing else.
My car is fine where I live, but any hill I drive up it loses speed and i need to go down gear
it cannot gain speed on a hill
Another reason I want to move to Europe is because it's so easy to get around with a metro card or a bike.
Preferably before electric cars are made mandatory so I can learn bus routes and such.
That not at all true for ireland, unless you want to only live in one town / city for your entire life
Public transport in ireland is buses that are always late and taxi
Sweden and other countries are really good though.
They don't have English, British, Scottish or Irish accents though.
Canada doesn't either.
There was a station in Stockholm we used each day, and one of the escalators was sooooooooo fucking long, and you could see the whole way down it was trippy
Yeah Stockholm's metro is nightmare fuel for those of us who are scared of heights 😄
yep... and being stalked by people hanging around the ATM
Sounds perfect! Anxiety attacks and panic attacks!
That would terrify me because I always withdrawal a minimum of $200 from the ATM at a time.
Mostly because it's enough to last a few weeks before needing to go to one again.
NO ITS NOT!!
I was there for a week and never, ever had to use cash.
We had to use the ATM to get cash to use at restaurants cause most of them didnt take card
except mcdonalds.... and the asian restaurant
In STOCKHOLM?
Was this like, 20 years ago?
This was 2019...
The first thing I did when we arrived at Stockholm Airport was withdraw 100€ worth in SEK. I ended up using a bit of it on a new wallet in a marketplace.
Literally never ever used anything but card.
hmmmm
Grocery stores, museums, public transport, hotel, etc cetera 😄
guess we picked strange restaurants then
Am I weird for using cash for every purchase?
yes
Yes you are
The boat ride we took also didnt accept card at the ticket booth
cash is outdated
You would love Berlin.
Cash is convenient.
😄
coins are more outdated but notes are still outdated
It's Berlin that is known for chocolate right?
cash is less convenient
Cash, nah its not convinient
got to deal with change and bunch of small coins in your pocket you cant get rid of cause its alkl 1 and 2 and 5 cents
Berlin (Germany I guess) is notorious for being cardless 😄
belgium is chocolate
Wait, no, that isn't Berlin.
Belgium, that's the one.
I'm just a dumb North American don't mind me.
Especially during the pandemic
also, outside, ewwww
dirty germ ridden money in a pandemic?! hell nah
At least here 1 and 2 cent coins don't exist so that's nice but still ech just let me be tracked and pay with me phone
for "off the books" payments, use crypto
I may be terrified of germs but I still use cash and coins. I disinfect every single one every time I get home.
I had the smoothest experience the last day buying my pro controller
went to the machine, typed my reservation number, tapped my phone to pay, walked to counter to wait for collection
walked away
drove home
Monero is basically the only option in that realm at the moment. Others can be traced.
if you have to go somewhere to do it, they can still track you
pretty sure youll have a hard time tracking most of the cryptos
just dont use a shite wallet
That is terrible advice but whatever.
says the guy still using cash
I think I should move to Denmark and start a company called "Troll Trace".
That reminds that the QT Company used to be called Troll tech....
South Park joke for those that don't know the episode.
Girl/woman and I do it because I prefer it. With cash I can physically see how much I am spending and tend to save money. With a debit card it's like money isn't an object and I never know how much I'm spending.
that seems like a you problem rather than anything else
I'm not the only one. One of my siblings uses exclusively cash as well except for online orders.
This is true - But I do have a webbanking app I can check constantly 😄
Also... no pound heavy wallet.
The only time I open the banking website is if I have to pay rent because my landlord doesn't accept cash. Other than that I don't check.
I can limit the money i can use with my card using this, if I set it to €20, I cant use the card for more than that
and so on
set a monthly limit per card
I can do the same but it doesn't address the issue.
are those 2 big ones keeb related?
also, since this is a seperate account to my bank account, I am also limited by how much money I add to this account already
so there is a budget there too, say I add like 200 each month to this, thats the only amount I can spend that month with my cards
anmd if I want to spend more than that 200, id have to go out of my way to add the extra money
I guess I'm just behind the times. Cash is superior in my mind.

I'm in my young 20s and I get called a boomer.
I mean I'm an elf that is 649 years old of course.
I really like this app, it already limits your money usage by making you only access the money you top it up with and then you can go further and assign limits per month or per card
The app also lets me use google pay for contactless :D and also making me never need to carry around my actual bank account card
so if I lose this card, its easy t freeze and terminate and they can only access the money in that cards account instead of all the money in my bank account
Cash is a hassle to deal with, especially for merchants
I have such a deep hatred for using apps for everything and contact-less payments that it isn't even funny.
and also the anxiety I get by spending too long to stuff the change and recipet into my pocket and holding up the cashier and the people behind me in line....
I hate that
ye, that is pain
For me the anxiety is when I put my phone to the thing and it does the thing but then errors out uurgh
that is bad but i just use the card because i never setup google pay...
i should do that sometime
My phone doesn't even have NFC.
litterly some wires
Boomer cash moves. 👌
Crypto for anon pay is absolutely the way to go.
Tornado Cash.
Monero.
Monero is tracable.
Everytime I heard that word "monero" I get "Why dont you get a job" stuck in my head
There's a bug in the algo where you can just track very recently done transactions.
Plus Monero had some huge security exploits.
bring back hardware cryto wallet
This is using a Trezor, m8.
Hardware wallet doesn't matter since it's a matter of the mining algo being fucked.
To my knowledge the only tracking that can be done is an IP address for a transaction but none of the wallet information or transaction amount. If you have sources I would greatly appreciate it.
Meanwhile, both Revolut and Google Pay both send me a notification with the store name and location and the amount spent when I use contactless xd
and Revolut has even more details than gPay does
well, makes sense, its that card I use
A rather significant bug has been spotted in Monero's decoy selection algorithm that may impact your transaction's privacy. Please read this whole thread carefully. Thanks @justinberman95 for investigating this bug.

From the official Twitter.
Users can avoid this a little bit, but if you need rapid transfers then it's VERY easy to trace.
A couple dudes in the CCX discord did it a couple times as a display, was fun.
That doesn't impact me whatsoever. It still doesn't reveal the transaction amounts of addresses.
Some cryptocurrencies allow you to do launder some money
great feature
Doesn't impact you, true, still a nasty bug.
Right, but it's a wallet bug and doesn't require a hard-fork.
chug gold coins at people
If you think I'm carrying around a knife and a bar of low quality silver you're nuts.
Low quality silver, that's too expensive.
Bankrupt me atm.

na u mine it
Then high quality silver
just like crypto
Just paint it gold and sell it to some random person that doesn't know any better.
Or grab a piece of pavement that broke off, go to a pawn shop and claim it's a moon rock.
we already have enough scammers and MLM
The baillif will cut your hands if you get caught forging money
Like the good old days
always head
Just crypto mine, ffs.
no
Money printer go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
fans go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
linus tested gpu performance doesnt degrade with mining as much as slated
On top of this we have a minimum of 7 years of hard evidence of cards just not dying.
the fan bearings may get a little worn but that would happen under regular use
This.
Cryptocurrency for ponzi schemes, buying drugs and
It's a good thing you're a troll, only the utterly retarded would say something so stupid seriously.
and... other ones
Thank fuck you're a troll.
efficiency... usually (at least from my experience) the gpu loses some efficiency and thus maybe its not able to generate profit after generating income for rent, electricity, heat, water, food and replacement components in case of requiring replacement
Alright, then you have very little experience.
The only GPU that loses hashrate over time would be the 1080s and 1080Tis, and that's due to Epoch size, not hardware failure.
And even then it doesn't impact gaming.
Silicon doesnt evaporate away
Strange, despite my ram being pretty stable it always crashes in one section in 3d mark on the exact same frame. Lower frequency helped, but what timing could be causing this if system was previously stable for hours straight in some games and also in OCCT till lot higher temps.
@fair gull But really seriously, GPUs don't die to mining, not only do they typically last longer, but the card itself just... doesn't die.
First thing that dies is the fans.
And that's usually the problem regardless of application.
Poor little plastic fans. :(
ik but it running hot 24/7 doesnt sound healthy either
also feel like my gpu will outlast all the mining gpus
Well that's actually not the case. Electronics always have a typical running temp, and the temp is usually around 60c mining being healthy.
60c on a GPU is typically healthy regardless of application.
for hardware, its more taxing being turned off and on versus a constant load
so it will suffer more in a gaming rig than when mining
My GPUs are undervolted, overclocked, and running the fans at 65% constantly to reach about 60c core.
Doing the community found MTBF, it's usually around 5 to 6 years of use per GPU.
now that ive said this, i wonder if i can get a decent card for cheap
No you can't
You probably can.
I mean, what card would we be talking here?
what am i doing
Mastercard
i musnt succumb to the urge to spend money
Yeah...
Then again.
Spend money on a 5700 and flash it into a 5700XT and you can have about 190 day ROI time.
also i kinda want a 3070 or similar performance but yeah... those arent gonna be up for used yet
60MH/s for a grand AUD.
About the same as a 3070.
Whereas most 3070s are like... 1.3k. (At the cheapest)
i just want it for gaming/cad dont plan on mining on this rig
if i were, id get a seperate pc or smth
Hmmmmmmmmm.
Good move.
Tbh, you could grab a 3080 and mine nights on it.
Enough VRAM to mine while you do other stuff and you'd make back enough cash to reach 3070 cost in like... a few months.
Good for CAD, iirc.
most of the time i sleep accidentally so planning on doing something at night doesnt work
Canadian dollars are shit
shrugs Set up scheduled tasks.
Start miner at midnight every day if it's not running.
Then just run it all the time. :P
Tbh I have a 1080Ti rn, and I can confirm that mining and playing games loses me like... 2% performance.
Currently playing Destiny 2 and mining.
yeah i tried running my current card (rx480 8gb) and mining at same time... yeah no
mining eth? cause mining and gaming on a 2080 destroys mining hash
was a test more than anything
Yeah, but if I'm gaming I don't care about the hashrate.
So long as the gaming performance is untouched when I want it we're all g.
Atm my hash is 25 or so, usually I hit 43MH/s on the 1080Ti.
22MH/s, actually.
But I can just leave the miner on all the time and I see nothing in adverse effects.
Auto OC profiles so when games aren't open we go full efficiency mode, when they are I have a good OC.
👌
i checked, pretty much nothing lower than what theyre selling for new
if theyre cheaper than used ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Pfff, that just means you aren't looking hard enough.
There's always someone selling cheap.
has there been cases where scalpers sell a card as new but they have already used it already?
'Course.
Like they shows the box unopened and whatnot
and when you get it, its been used and opened already
That's always a risk you run, which is why you always pick up if you can.
Though with that said even a used card probably isn't suffering.
or pay in paypal. they'll likely back you
This too.
Or force them to go via ebay, most of the time people are willing to do that.
3070tis seem to be cheaper than 3070s which is... weird
3070s have higher hashrate atm.
new
FHR 3070s are currently more valuable.
Everyone is exploiting that since it means better ROI.
dont use that logic on me
i dont even think i have the money for it
What's your current card?
rx480 8gb
Try mining Ergo or Raven.
rx480 = raven xcavator 480...duh!
Try Woolypooly with CryptoDredge.
i wonder what happened to my old cpu/mobo...
could stick this card on that and just let it mine
I hate how much WoolyPooly sounds like the name of some new woke JS framework
and get fancy gpu for this one to actually do stuff
yeah i cant tell if youre memeing rn
Yep.
I suggest HiveOS.
everything has a website these days
But really, people underestimate the value of mining.
Like...
Take your RX480.
Does 30MH/s Ethash.
That's 2 US dollars a day.
Per month that'd pay for your netflix subscription and a coffee or hot chocolate every day of your life.
It's the little things like that, tbh. Being able to hit up a cafe for a nice drink on your way to work, it brightens your day just a little.
And it's even better when it costs you nothing to do so.
Or a 3080, that's about 6 US dollars a day in profits after power. 2 thousand US per year, that can pay for your rego or every single subscription service you have.
In most jobs 2 3080s can give you as much as a good promotion would, and you don't actually work for it.
Well sure now I feel like mining some for the memes
Oh damn why is it so bloody complicated nowadays
Back in my day it was just Bitcoin and Dogecoin!
I always did find that weird.
People go nuts at a promotion that'll give them 2 extra grand per year, yet they'll leave their PC idle at home, not earning money.
so how many people actually do that from the millions of hobby miners
meanwhile mine reaches 80-84C :/
so i checked 1 3080 is around 5usd daily profits in my region due to relatively high electricity costs
meaning double would be like 10
thats
not much
fml somebody found old 68pin SCSI drives somewhere in our cellar
i can send over some ide drives if u want
and I can't find any adaptors to find out what exactly is on those drives
please no
2.5 or 3.5inch
I got enough dying/dead IDE and early sata drives already
they are 3.5 inch hitachi ultrastars

The hobby miners? Heaps of em. Overclocks means more profits and if you’re mining you wanna get as much profit as you can.
Overvolts mean more power use means less profits, so typically what they do is jump into a discord and ask for help. Or Reddit.
so whats ur daily profit
About 90USD daily.
the fuck are u running
also with gpu boost etc you might actually get better performance with an undervolt
18 3070s, 3 1080Ti’s a 3060, and a 1080.
at least better efficiency
shrugs I didn’t start with this.
Personally I started with my laptop. Just begun mining, learning, and testing.
Then I got a 3 grand loan to buy 2 3070s, I used them for dedi mining to make a proven financial report.
id rather not have 23 gpus running all day for the same profit of me just being lazy at work
Then I did my math, checked against sources, and convinced family to invest.
40 grand or so.
not to mention that you pay 2-3 times what he pays for electricity
so profits are cut
Kinda sorta kinda.
and different legal loopholes to avoid taxes
ya i checked and 2 3080 are 10usd
About the same for me.
10USD after power cut.
If I really push em to 110MH/s with Hive I can get 6USD each after tinkering.
Tbh though 3080s aren’t cost effective.
You’d be more sane to buy 4 5700s and flash em into XTs.
That does about 240MH/s and uses less power.
Also costs less per megahash.
Faster ROI. Also cooler.
Also no GDDR6X RAM. Wouldn’t have to deal with cooling it.
I should also mention you can use 6 pin to 6+2 pin to dual 6+2 pin to run a 5700 off a single 6 pin, can’t do that with 3080s.
so whats the profit and cost of 4 of those
4 grand AUD for 4 of them. About 20 AUD per day, ergo about 6.9 (noice) months ROI time.
@fair gull
Annual profits of 7 thousand AUD, as well.
This, of course, is assuming current market prices of 1k each, in reality they cost less when the market isn’t fucked.
the frick is aud in real currency
AUD minus 30% is USD.
eur
hm i could buy a few for 539eur each
Something around that, yeah.
wait no those are 6600 xt
Probably a little less if you go second hand.
how about gt 710 cards

How much can you mine with a 770 kekw
Probably some Raven, I guess? xD
Too bad am not there
...
WhY aRe YoU nOt BuYiNg ThEm To MiNe
for 1.4k?
tbh flipping them is prob more worth it at that price
you can still resell at 1.6
because people are stupid
wait what where do you get them with just an hour waittime
but nvidia is not selling their cards through the website?
FE cards are at notebooksbilliger and their stock is like bi weekly and gone in 1 minute
like people wouldnt pay 700 more if you could get them with 60 minute wait time
probably
there was some website where you could queue in
Cursed.
and get one pretty quickly
nobody pays 2200
not here
People are retarded.
3090 fes? Where I'll buy two
For that much it's a no brainer.
for example
Because I can resell then from 2000 lol
Wth is this ebay UI...?
This ebay UI is cursed.
Idc, update UI, ffs.
yeah, nbb gets restocks every 2ish weeks
This isn't 2008 anymore.
and if you can get through you get one but stock is gone <1 minute
you can't pay through the site
so the UI is bound to be scuffed
Cursed.
Very cursed.
also thats someone selling it in person, so no ebay 10% cut etc.
nah they say it includes the reciept
if you don't protect yourself properly it is your own fault
Most services won't help you if you buy on gray markets.
yea
just pay with paypal
and not family and friends
and you basically can't get screwed
worst case you loose 1700€ for 2 months
and get the gratification that the other guy is loosing money by doing that

you could actually short GPUs

just sell tehm
and hope they are cheaper in 2 months
than what you offered them at
bl features in reallife?
thats how
