Best music streaming service is?
i've heard good things about apple music
🤔 Why it say Google Workspace instead of Google Mail now?!
shurg
OOO
TIL the dev for myTube works at Microsoft now
It is the best yt client I have used though
There is no shuffle option on playlists though ;-; idk why not
Using the CPU itself as a button.....
Interesting
I need some help
i've been thinking of getting 128gb of ram
i currently have 16gb but i've been wondering whether or not it should buy it
yeah you should
What do you even need so much RAM for?
Running the browser
Most applications just do not need that much, and most of the time there you’ll likely be CPU bottlenecked anyway since what can even use that much RAM is stupid expensive.
Must be using that new cool gaming browser
Edge browser
Shady bussiness practices
running an ATLAS server obviously. Need all the sections available
No Opera
Oh alright
So running windows 11 UI
Edge still sucks from my 20 minutes using it to install another browser on my sisters new laptop
To be honest windows 11 should run better if someone has a new Intel chip
20 mins to install a new browser? wtf
😭😭🤣🤣😭😭🤣🤣
open > website > download > done
No joke it gave a popup how fast it is, freezes totally immidiately, having task manager terminate it. Restart it again, see their promise how stable and fast it is, and hogging 60 to 80 % of the cpu
its beyond parody
Shoulda been 69% usage to at least get something right
But also, how is it with default windows antivirus? Some people say it sucks, some there is basically no point of getting some different antivirus.
They all use the same database nowadays
I guess you will not get McAfee shredder and probably will not want to use since McAfee used it last
only difference is how fast they update that database
But pigging back of Pincus why do you want some 3rd party using storage and CPU
For something that almost always is not an issue
Because, tbh, going by rule of not installing shady stuff is one thing, but there is the fact that I play some games, especially mc with bit of mods, so rather have at least some antivirus.
Modern browser sandbox themselves
Also I think Microsoft's implemention is usually fine
But other ones can be picked up
Only had one issue with Microsoft's with a game
Microsoft defender is sufficient for basic scanning, monitoring, and on the fly file scan
Linux is probably the best choice
Still tbh not a fan of having to allow apps to just “make changes in pc” instead of being able to chose which permissions do I allow, and seeing which ones the app wants.
But for the consumer Microsoft defender is pretty good
If you need something more you are pretty much in heavy shit and need to be resued
malware bytes or along those lines
Well you can use a local account then
Microsoft really made a big mistake with making admin available in the form it is
Malware bytes is okay but does it not use a database too?
windows has the most basic form of administration control. possible
Not good for security at all though
Usually prefer simplicity myself, but when it comes to this thing. It’s just, really not that hard to have the app ask for individual permissions.
Well it is a desktop computer with a full fat os
Not a phone which is quite personal these days
Unix uses the read, write, execute for user, group, world to handle permissions. Simple and effective
Do not think people would be happy with having to grant permission all the time on a pc
Especially in the enterprise space
Don’t think it would be an issue if done right
System administrators should know about how groups work and add you to the correct groups to accesss all you would ever need and nothing more
For example if instead of current window, you just have pop up with all the things app request, deffaulty ticked. So would not require any extra clicks unless you want to disallow some permission
Well you can already do that
Just not on the start
Though again, doing that could break a lot
Worst situation is too much permission and they could abuse it
I mean there is no flashlight app on windows asking for location 🤣🤣
If there was then fair case
Anyways WindowsOS is not a toy
Though Microsoft did at one point have Windows 10S
is anything known about how the Wooting 2 is going to report hall switch status to the OS?
Not sure I follow - It reports digital inputs like any other keyboard. The analog side of things uses DirectInput or Xinput like any of the older Flaretech models.
Nothing new there.
ok, I'm not a Windows user; I'm also writing a USB HID driver. How does it indicate this at the USB level?
Now we're entering a level where I am not comfortable with the technical specifics - The Wooting appears as several devices. A keyboard and a controller basically. 🙂
ie, game controller?
Yep.
so that's both HID
Xbox Controller and/Or a generic one.
for the user it should be pretty much the same as with the flaretech versions
if you take a look at the analog SDK and/or the linux version of wootility it should tell you what you are looking for
if not #🤖│community_dev is probably the best place for those low level questions
ah, I thought this channel would be for it
more general tech related talk, also feel free to ping Simon or Jeroen as those 2 would be the ones who know that for sure

ok, thx!
is that a question or a statement
Yes
not sure if that's english
well the water bottle looks russian
weirdchamp
IPA is perfect for CPUs.
High alcohol content, evaporates quickly.
Y’know, comes with the added benefit that if you kill your PC for being an idiot you can drink it and wake up in a hospital. It’s like teleportation with extra steps.
@pale sigil as long as you don't mix it with chromic acid you're all good 👍
ipa is also very good for cleaning off ruberized coatings
ew
I never drank alcohol in my life so when I say ipa it's either isopropylalcohol or the International Phonetic Alphabet
yea
was using that recently and it's not easy to get off
but I have some of the beers around, but not isopropyl... and IPA beers aren't great, so I figured maybe...
my experience is just some toiletpaper and pure alcohol works wonders on rubberized coating
XD
just the high proof stuff that will make you blind if you drink it
that's the good stuff
👍
this was for the rubberized stuff that I used to waterproof the rabbit pen's roof, that I got on my fingers
they should let nitro users change fonts
i'd buy it just so i no longer see this

Cool. Dont know why we would have to know that. Only Discord itself would care
Cool, then you wont buy it
Was for free for 3 months
@misty saffron why does it use that font on your system?
ask discord devs
Still did not get notification that replacement mobo and cpu should arrive tomorrow and I am not a fan of that. Last time it came 3 days after previous mail. Now it’s been almost a week.
Literally change your phone font.
It works.
At least it won’t wobble
Looks alright, concerning is wireless charging
Meh, it won't be officially available in my country anyway
Finland, still
Ah
i love it
integrated into the design instead of these random black dots on one of the top sides of the phone
i think the bump on my s21u is ugly
what about the xiaomi m11 ultra?
its not pretty..
These fucking headphones are so close I can almost hear them. They're going from the big town near where I live likely to the smaller town where my mail is actually shipped out from... I'm hoping they'll be here today and USPS isn't gonna do something stupid like hold them over night
They are pretty much buying a smart camera with the blave step to make the lens not removable.
Replacement cpu and mobo finally tomorrow
For me phones are really just tools to be used, why care about an ugly bump.
I fee llike removing the wobble alone makes it a good move.
This is also why I hate the move to metal for phones and hate the move to glass after even more.
Plastics are just the superior material.
Tbh get it, some people including me use phones for almost everything sometimes over 12 hours a day.
Don’t fully agree with this. One thing is waste, but plastic also has its issues like scratches. And also it just feels worse, which does not matter if you use case, but otherwise…
You would be suprised on the range of plastics and unique characteristc
I know hardly anyone who actually uses a glass phone without a case, whereas it's much more common with something like a plastic.
As for feel not all plastics are the same, my note 3 from 2013 felt pretty great.
Frosted glass on the back for example feels so much better than plastic. Not the biggest fan of glossy glass though tbh. Also stainless steel is quite Pog.
Metal has the problem of blocking signals, which is generally not desirable, sure antena lines help, but wireless charging if you want that is not possible for example.
As for the environment plastic smartphones are really no worse than metal. The main issue with plastic waste is the large quantity of disposable plastics.
Sure, that’s why I think stainless steel for sides and frosted glass on back is the best combination
Stainless steel sides sure, but I would go for a nice plastic back.
a big issue with glass as well is that it's cannot deform as much during impact, this leads to a lot of broken phones.
The number of specifically glass backs being shattered is pretty damn large.
plastic or metal would be wastefull to be left in some remote foreign coutry to polute their drinking water. Or burned to release more carinogenic chemicals than we are aware exist
For sustainability there would be a lot more gain in making the phones more repairable, upgradable, and scrapable.
Phones would be a lot better on that front if the common failure points where easily available / replacable.
I really would not mind legislation that demands replacement parts for certain frequently failing parts to be available. And that installing them should only require basic tools, like a screw-driver.
Batteries for example are always going to wear out over time, so I find it quite insane how difficult replacing them on some phones can be.
Same for screens that quite commonly break and charge ports.
I am pretty sure you can still make your phone waterproof if you have those parts be replacable like that.
Especially once manufacturers are forced to figure it out.
it's also such a disgrace that we only have AA and AAA as standard rechargeable battery sizes
ie, there is no real standard LiPo cell
why not take a standardish 8x8x1cm for a large cell and 4x4x0.5 for a small one?
I wouldn't go that far as that would impact the battery life quite a bit.
Still I feel like with proper regulation a lot can be improved on this front.
Biggest reason is maximum use of the empty area with battery but components can just as well be made to do the same. 🤷 Custom battery production of li-ion type is cheap and skilled engineers are expensive. So li-ion batteries were pretty much the filler, Li-po has mostly settled on a standard size for general use.
New type of batteries are being researched into. They can be cut in half, punchured, bent whatever it will still work somewhat. Which current tech is notiriously known for.
Found an older article (2017) but still pretty cool watch if you like that kind of stuff https://www.jhuapl.edu/PressRelease/191014
You can have standards for smaller cells and have multiples of those tiled in devices
Still would be worse. Every device usually has different battery, and having it all based on standards would just make it lot less space effective, unless you would have like 1000 standards
yeah the focus is on standardS. multiple option, not one
and you combine them if needed
Sure, but that would still be less effective than every device having custom battery. Possibly over 10%, especially since some custom batteries are L shaped. Even combining may result in like 20% less capacity. Batteries are imo one thing that should not really be standard, apart from way they are charged I guess
weird how that is not an issue in any sector that has norms, but in sectors that don't, the argument is that norms wouldn't work so they don't try it, almost like it would show the opposite if they did 😛
hmmm why does this sound just like right to repair 😛
I strongly disagree with that assumption.
Every time a smartphone or other product is obsoleted, all of the manufactured batteries for those products are scrapped.
(Not to mention how aggressively companies like Apple try and get third party spare parts crushed and destroyed when crossing borders)
There are aa and aaa size lipos that are pretty standard in flashlights
L shaped batteries are 2 or 3 separate batteries, they could each be a standard size...

Don’t wanna know the price
What are Safe ram voltages with 11900k and Samsung B die? I mean, Normal voltage is 1.5V I guess, but what about the secondary voltages, like SA. And also what about 11900k max safe long term voltage.
make sure it runs before you care about OC
well, breaking the hardware means you can now go buy good skus instead
What speeds are you looking for?
As fast as I can get it to, but so it still runs safe, and can last a few years.
Then stock voltages
Sa 1.2 max io 1.25 max
Wut
Thanks
Most motherboards will set 1.3 to 1.5v on bdie for io and sa
Auto voltages behave not well when ram OC
Start at 1.1 btw
I guess that with cpu voltage I will hit temp limit first. But since 11900k is not that hard to cool even with lot of heat, what voltage should I not go above with CPU?
Also pretty sure it's the opposite
Only Intel board I have is a tachi
And it has a b die profile
It's like 1.4v dram and sa/io are like 1v
Last thing, any way to OC iGPU?

seriously, get it stable first before you want to OC a system without dGPU
If it works in the first place
on your above 1080p screen your ram really won't make a difference if you run iGPU
and even with a dGPU using xmp is more than enough on 4k
Yeah, 4K…
Ram is slow enchance cache
That’s why I want to at least OC the iGPU
you wont see a difference between 10 and 10.01fps
I mean, if I manage to OC iGPU I may get at least bit more fps. Even though I will most likely have to limit most games to 720-1080p. But any way to do that?
probably SoC settings or igpu section in the intel XTU
still won't make a difference though

Alot of games can double fps from speedy ram on igpu
And 25 fps is almost playable unlike 12
wait...ikaS haraS
don't even try to use an iGPU at 4k
it won't end well
1080p is pretty much hit and miss with iGPUs already

csgo and such aside at least year
Io and sa don't affect temps
Intel has integer scaling
I know, it's still an upscaled mess at 30fps max
yeye it works and it' s better than decade old stuf blah blah, doesn't make the setup any less ridiculous
🤷♂️ just don't max settings
You'd be surprised how well games run on xe
Even 10th gen was very often quite playable and 11th gen is twice as fast and then ram improvements
but if you're not running 4k 240fps ultra everything what's even the point?!
look man if a setup has more expensive ram than my cpu and ram combined and runs a watercooled iGPU for 4k I'll make fun of the setup 😛
yes it works and is usable, still hilarious
this is like the polar opposite of those extreme CPU bottleneck builds
instead of having a super weak CPU getting overloaded by the top tier GPU at the current moment, you've got a balls to the wall, enthusiast CPU...
running off of it's iGPU

makes sense given the current market, but otherwise, pretty much only for the lols
You bought the CPU you're gonna use the whole CPU
In this market what do you want...
I mean, I could make a pc with scalped gpu price for the same than his mobo/ram/cpu combo and it'd be decent
so at that point I don't think using the 11900k's igpu for a 4k120hz is a "solid option"
Ah but fuck scalpers
And it can handle windows desktop and YouTube at that resolution
I mean with retail "scalped" prices not ebay scalpers
and idk about you but I don't think a >2grand pc (without gpu) is a good deal for a youtube machine
🤷♂️ I spent 14 grand on mine with a gpu
And for windows desktop use his system is faster sometimes
kinda doubt you get to that price without like a quadro or other workstation related things
Lotta storage
ok, so not primarily gaming focused
SLI 3090s, tens of terrabytes of really high end SSD storage, threadripper, etc.
very possible
very impractical
it's your money, spend it how you want
but that does make me cringe considering just how good that would be for gaming
but an overpriced system for what it is, isn't suddenly a better value just because someone else has an even more ludicrous setup
Also tbf I'm including monitors and vr
And since I do use VR that does reduce the waste a bit lmao
Like I intended to not just use it for YouTube videos
But fuck am I tired after work these days
Yeah, I am talking about CPU voltage here, not lo or sa.
Well, atm it does not even work. Really hope the parts are replaced and it will work tomorrow though
But it may not
¯_(ツ)_/¯
If you don’t want to do anything that requires performance not really
it's that hardware is scarcer, but jackasses are scooping up what is there, scalping or mining on more than what is reasonable
For 1000€ for example you can get a really good laptop, and even play more basic games on it (actually getting more fps than me since I have no dGPU
)
if miners, scalpers, and all that fucked off
we'd still have shortages
but it wouldn't be this bad
Now some things are even getting in stock
Even if scalpers did not exist
Atm the biggest issue imo is raised MSRPs
that's because of shortages
and scalping
the stores know the GPUs will sell regardless of price
so why not raise the price a few hundred?
Well they don’t sell as much instantly. Sometimes lasting for weeks now. So hopefully the prices are slowly gonna return to normal
If not
Well I have an iGPU
I mean a few hundred euros or so
not more than double the MSRP

I don't even think that would be very appealing to a miner
Hmm, makes me wonder, how much would an iGPU make a week by mining. No LHR, definitely worth it
Basically nothing since the memory is so slow
CPU mining is almost profitable
And 11th gen is the least unprofitable iirc besides epyc
So CPU got replaced. And I have got again the same mobo back saying it’s “repaired” without any further details…
Really hope CPU was faulty
Repaired meaning they looked at it, did nothing, and proceeded to give it back.

PogChamp
It was CPU
Idk how 11900k died day one
But now postcode works
Time to reassemble everything
And drain water from the loop and lot of stuff Pog
That's just Intel telling you that they're fucked and to go AMD. 👌
Would have to refund me for that
'Course man. We only want the very cheapest and most powerful.
Aeon. I got those headphones in finally.
Oh?
Do they actually stack up to what Audeze can bring to the table?
Literally all of my sources say no, but that'd be all of my sources with shitloads of overexpensive audio shit. So idk about that, tbh.
They're great as far as I can tell. Mind you right now it's just the USB apple dongle that everyone seems to like.
Also nfc. Never tried Audeze.
I've heard it makes a good competitor but a lot of people try shitting on the headphones cause the dude who makes them is an asshole
It's a little more bassy is all I've heard
Tbh he's kinda horrible.
Banned from basically everywhere good.
Bezos doesn't threaten to mail people anthrax. raised eyebrow
At least he's smart enough not to say it publically
I'm pretty sure Igor isn't either.
Yeah he's an asshole, lots of people are. Some are just... A little too loose tongued
shrugs I'd rather not give money to someone actively making threats like that.
Especially when Audeze exists.
Hifiman Sundara basically better but less scummy company
It’s also a false equivalence to compare a one man operation to a trillion dollar conglomerate
If you want a budget planar sure
But I think planars are still fundamentally compromised until you spend 1k+
This.
3k+ is when Planars become great.
I'd say 1k+ is when Dynamics become great.
Though that's ignoring the outright great deals like the 6XX.
The average is what I'm talking about.
Dynamics are great at $200
You don’t need to spend 3k on planars
An LCD X with some EQ is excessive for like 99% of the population
1 % of 8 billion is a lot of people
I mean in AUD, friend.
Dynamics kinda suck here until you get a 6XX at almost $400.
Well that’s an Aussie problem
And even then the 6XX is an outlier if anything.
Typically the cost is near 550 or so for something beginner that isnt a 6XX.
The joys of living on a remote island
:(
I want something for rap that is a bit more punchy than my HD6XX, I have been waiting for replacement earpads for the HE400i for over a month now
at this point I just don't care anymore
To be fair 6XX is relatively “punchy” it just has bass roll off. It’s more punchy than a sundara TBH but Sundara has better bass extension. The EMU-Teak is absolutely worth it tho.
Or if you can find like a used Fostex TRX00/THX00
none atm
goes right from cheap TH ones to a single TH610 for 638€ to TH900 for 749€ and up
sadly nothing new
well
the idea is nothing new at least
Z590 is something new in that formfactor
Honestly give the creative Aurvana live a go
ehhhhhhhh
It’s not the most detailed thing but it’s got slam
just want something decent for 150-400
yea obv
KSC75 is sex but only $20
but they looks like the earpads will fall apart after a few months
and looks uncomfortable as hell
not here
They are on ear unfortunately
Idk how much the CAL! is in EU atm but you’re basically paying for the drivers
basically only used market from what I can tell
wait nvm
70€
but atm I would rather pay more and get something decent
instead of skimping out
and then not being entirely happy with them
Second test based, booted into windows. Time to drain watercooling loop.
bought a teak
paid 390 including shipping and paypal fees
Sell a portion and reinvest in other stocks
that would require me to understand stock market
Yes. Need to do a little gambling
Or just keep the money and don’t risk
ask wallstreetbets
Tbh, Etherium is in a pretty good spot for investing atm. Has been for a month.
EIP1559 drops in a day, could be the start of a real bull.
no
You know it is. :P
Cleary the start of interesting change, and 1559 could very easily mean deflationary currency.
If that happens we’ll defo see some bull activity on the market for the next quarter.

It seems cals got discontinued

I want that
3 is greater than 2
yeye it's a very well done troll account
3dfx got bought by nvidia(mr jensen ) and this is supposedly a jansen product company that doesnt exist anywhere 😛

Omfg yes.
All of the yes.
welp, I seriously doubt NVidia would ever sell off a potential competitor, but would be great to have a 3dfx branded line of cards, even a potential low end GPU competitor
Noctua graphics card?
95% troll 4% nvidia sub division 1% serious is my guess
indeed
Fuck, man.
would be stellar for ITX builds if cooling is up to snuff
the reasons it's possible is because the trademark expired, nvidia doesnt own it anymore technically
If only more games scaled with cores like this
meh, wake me up when we see scaling at actual resolutions that people use
ohh it's total war, I only looked at the resolution haha
ok yea I guess that makes sense then

I love the design, I hate the logo.
11900 k where?
Tbh this kinda sucks since last game I have played is tw, but don’t think that will matter with iGPU
Nope it’s from battle with all units that could have gotten there
Tbh it’s strange

My temps in bios
What's your ambient, 30?
Nice, that’s cheaper than I expected
throw some dice at it
wot
some chinese dude had stolen the Star Citizen promo inside
fuuu
Somehow didn't get caught by customs either Oo or maybe it comes later these days
Past boot screen windows almost always feels to load, sometimes also bios. Idk why.
Seems like one of bioses is broken.
..feels?
Maybe meant fails ¯_༼ᴼل͜ᴼ༽_/¯
Only CPU
Uh so you have no motherboard?
I have got the same one back
Great.....
It works
so fuck all was done
But something is going on
Seems like CPU was faulty since it getting replaced fixed issues
But still can’t boot most of the time
well no reason to send a new board if the fault seemed to be from the cpu
If I am lucky I get into bios.
Just tell them its still broken and better come pick it up again
No way, not gonna wait another 40 days
Also will be in UK by the time I would get replacement
Are any of the pins bent?
refund and buy good hardware instead
Damn rekt
Intel? some off brand probably. Get a proper brand like AMD
:S pretty sure that is enterprise these days
maybe a powerpc
Nah that's optane

What is CPU VCCIO2?
one of the terrible names that gigabyte puts in the bios
Central Processing Unit Voltage at Common Collector Input Output 2?
Nah, just read that message
Let me rephrase this, did you instantly connect with the acronym?
not instantly but quickly. Assuming they would use standard terminology in electronic diagrams.
One of the voltages is just imc the other one is imc+ring
Head over to the overclocking discord and ask in cpu-overclocking
No
of installing it
It is just a small company
100% i just have trusting issues
And when enough people install the software it will be by the people deemed safe
And Microsoft defender will not tick off
wooting is a company
How many cpu and ram does it use?
that makes keyboards
In fact it is open course pretty sure
wtf are you on about?

@shadow minnow found your gpu you are missing
How would a company be a virus in the first place.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
maybe it's a term used by left wing agitators to describe companies and individuals who pay comparatively little in the way of taxes?
No we call that facebook, google and the like

There is place in California called corona could be the virus origin ¯_(ツ)_/¯
doesn't really matter, they're american companies
no one cares about that shithole
I mean idk what he was looking for with the mindset, but hey, at 12 or w/e the age was, most are overstupid and not overthinking
Yeah a little to all over the place
there was a study somewhere that showed a decent chunk of america actually thought corona extra, a mexican import beer, causes corona
XD
some people out there are really fucking stupid
I remember that
Use an abstract legal structure to inject itself which is abstract..
we are treading dangerous idea there
Kinda abstract dontcha think to be so abstract
About corona corona la arona
mmm
corona extra
I'm vaccinated so I'm pretty much immune to whatever corona extra does to a person
minus the pissing blood thing

XD
it really is a shitty beer imo
It is marketed so much
keep the lockdown till end of next year so I can rejoin live once RDNA3 appears
But in ends up with an concrete instance of the virus which is draws from an abstract and affect an abstract idea with the concrete instance. So much room to create thought loops and undefined behaviour
That behavior must become abstract then
In an abstract world
That is abstract beyond reason
Every abstract abstract is abracting abstarctingly into abstract
I have no idea how it even come up with the initial idea. I don't understand why it decided it to interpreted it to end up with that. I cant rationalise my conclusion. Brain stuck, pls fix
Im literately blanking out, cool. Anyway.
dont overload it and go into reboot
oh nice, less than 3 weeks till hotchips
vvat is that?
alder lake and zen3d presentations
hotchips is the conference for all semiconducting things
yeppers, I figured as much
what about the new intel mushyheaded naming conventions?

Who doesnt want their chips to be hot 🤤
idk, intels naming is fine, just dont like them acting they drop nm then add a new unity afterwards..
but at least it's more or less the same for foundries now
easier to compare
Wish startup repair worked. But no, windows says no
I think what they did was all well and good
just the way they went about it made it look really bad
The a signifies gaafets so that's neat at least
Yes but the a nodes are all gonna be nanosheet gaafets
smaller units, something something running out of integers on current unit
¯_(ツ)_/¯
better than 14nm++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
or whatever freaking iteration of 14nm they're on rn
no I mean different as in don't use units that dont mean anything anymore
What about ++14nm?
but...quin
also tbf I prefer the plus over the internal node name
new ton meter
14nm++ is better than P1272.2
easier to understand from a consumer point of view
but mere years ago, the only thing that mattered was that it was the latest i7 model
how times change
54b469n17d then

because every consumer would understand exactly what that means
/s
actually though, I know people who struggle with the whole core/thread thing
tbh I think the best would've just been to name it after the year
Just tell them to git gud and dab on the haterz
I just really dont get the point of "units dont show anything so we remove then but later use them again when they still say nothing"
Would be nice if companies dont break their own rule for some abstract reason if they go with some numbering scheme
but Pat was supposed to be the chosen one
to bring balance to the semi industry and marketing not join them
only disappointment
it's still 2 steps ahead and 1 back so an overall better result
Impossible, young pedawan. Many have tried before you. All have failed or died balancing the force.
you know what else is?
a coat hanger abortion
it's an improvement
TBH nm are already only being missussed by well, everyone, and don’t actually have a meaning anymore.
but at what cost?
intel lost a shitload of face, got a lot of flak, and were hypocrites of their own damn claims
besides, it ain't gonna become the standard, every other fab will keep using nm till we need something smaller
No you just misread they claims they retroactively edited
but...to most of the consumers...it looks a bit better...after the fallout?
I mean, it makes sense for like next two nodes. Since 10nm superfin is kinda better than 7nm. But also the intel ads lately are just a joke.
Always blame the consumer
at a glance, "intel 7" looks a lot better than 10nm
well they did put out a roadmap so time to treat them like AMD during bulldozer
of course, it's a load of shit and basically is the same thing
wait if they execute and judge based on that
how fitting
considering I'm getting serious FX vibes from them
heat certainly matches up
and funnily enough alder lake would be the first one coming on that roadmap and it has many cores
Also the hertz to show for it
I mean...if alder lake isn't shit and reasonably priced, primarily for motherboards, which is my sticking point atm that really prevents me from buying intel, I'd probably get an i7 for myself
that as well
while zen3d should probably still run on AM4
if that costs an arm and a leg, I'll stick to tuning my infinity fabric on DDR4
no arm is what nvidia wants to buy
Is there any tangible consumer benefits to ddr5?
Guess then it will just depend on applications and their desires
Emptier wallet
nice the best part
I know right, having to carry all that weight
Expect 20-30% performance improvement from jdec 3200 to jdec 6400 in games
Basically stock vs stock on ddr4 vs ddr5
On alderlake since that's the only crossgen cpus
Big hype
Hopefully they won't implement the photo processing only in hardware so that I can still get gcam
So I can boot into windows while monitor is off but not while it’s on?? And also tried this on another monitor, same result.
thats really strange
Makes me wonder if cable may be faulty
Highest safe voltage for intel iGPU?
Manually setting clock to 1600mhz without changing voltage caused crash. However could get to 1500
igpu is same as sa and io iirc?
IO 1 or 2? Also don’t think it’s the same since I can set processor graphics voltage in intel extreme tuning utility
Anyone has any idea how to OC an iGPU?
No no it has its own voltage but the safe voltages are in the same range as vccio and sa
indeed
pci
nah, agp
Nah, VLB
Nah just regular ISA without VLB
whaaaat the fuck is that?
i dont miss those days
they act as an expansion on them to broaden the bus and also get priority queues

I wish I could miss those days
sadly ISA is still not out of the industry entirely
edge cases for me luckily
hmm isa.. 80286, maybe ive touched my dads pc.. but thats a bit before my time :p
I feel so old knowing what both ISA and VLB are.
oh yeah i've def used a Matrox Millennium
you are old mansen

whats that? from the press?
new sli setup
ah i thought it was a stab at the old style sli with connecting a vga cable to the next gpu
Why do steam downloads stop when windows pc automatically goes to sleep smh
The opposite is a better question tbh
Because Volvo didn't make steam hold a wakelock while downloading... Or did they
it is, but what you mean is 3dfx, not nvidia
Did wallpaper engine wallpaper at 144hz make my pc start lagging even while playing YouTube content
Is not. Was nice when everything got downloaded while pc was sleeping on macOS. Now I have to disable sleeping
if something is downloading it can't be in an actual sleep mode
Eh sleeping is overrated just have the displays turn off when inactive ez
So, anyone knows safe voltages for iGPU OC?
yeah, stock
You got into windows?
Yes, can get there when my monitor is off, tried with more monitors too, same result
You are cursed
Indeed
hmm and the cable is in the mobo since its a iGPU
If your OS is downloading things, it is NOT in sleep mode.
so probably boards fault and will work fine with dGPU
Yeah, want to try to change cable as soon as I can
no I mean it's not the cable
Well somehow it stopped downloading
Still want to try that. Don’t want to have to RMA the board.
what mansen said is that if MacOS downloads things in sleep mode, it's not actually in sleep mode
I mean get a gpu, no point to RMA or not RMA a board for the iGPU output
Safe core voltage for 11900K?
Why is core voltage refusing my settings. Limited it to 1.35 and it goes to 1.4 on static mode.
You really don't want a functioning PC do you xD
Just want to know safe voltages to not go over. Any advice? But not a fan of PC hitting 70C at 5200mhz all core
Why am I getting so low cinebecnh results too. But please, what voltage to not go above for daily use?
daily use means stock until you get your gpu
why not just leave it as it is
because you currently share resource between cpu and iGPU
Apart from that? Just want to know what should be safe. Let’s say if I had a dGPU. Just want to test OC rn and don’t want to break anything.
but you can't test OC rn bc nobody who actually looks at these values does so while running igpu..
Still what’s the safe voltage.
Smh just want to know one thing. May not make sense to OC but still would be useful to know what voltage not to go above
The fuckin’ hype is actually real.
Nobody OCs an iGPU because that’s ridiculous.
That’s why you can’t find the info. 0 people have ever needed to.
I am asking about core voltage. Also have iGPU bit OCed
But I am asking about vcore.
Core voltage on your gen is usually something like 1.3 to 1.4 volts at very most.
Often enough you see 1.32 volts vcore and that’ll push as far as you want.
Atm running 5200mhz all core at 1.4
Didn’t try if I can get lower yet though. But cinebench all core could spike at 73C. Also voltage sometimes spikes to 1.46 even in static mode.
shrugs Is the CPU dying?
Why would it be
Exactly.
Looks fine, tbh.
Any further improvement will only give you very marginal improvements to synthetic.
I’d just stay where you are and call it a day.
But my conebench all core score was low. Maybe since I am using iGPU the issue is that I have wallpaper engine on. Sounds like a joke, but even YouTube got buggy with wallpaper engine at 4K 144 HDR
Tbh I am gonna try 5300mhz at same voltage but that will most likely be all. Wish I knew about iGPU OC but seems like I can’t find info. Can run it at 1500mhz instead of 1300 however without changing anything else, so why not.
When I can get new 3080 ti close to MSRP most likely.
Should try locating a second hand 3090.
There’s been some dump of those recently.
And the miners aren’t picking em up.
Bad ROI from 3090s.
And since you’re watercooling it’s a GPU that you can actually run.
Can’t do 5300 MHz at 1.4v ;-;
Adaptive voltage can go to crazy values
1.475 does not crash instantly. Guru 3d got to 1.535, makes me wonder if I can do 1.5V with no crash or not. Definitely won’t try anything further though.
Can’t ;-; I guess I will have to settle for 5200mhz all core
Yeah not gonna try 5300 MHz. Can get 5200 at lot lower voltages. Gonna push 5200 as low as I can and stay there I guess.
Why is adaptive voltage so high. Sometimes it wants to go to 1.6v, always gotta disable it asap
well it has a 3dfx logo on one of the monitors
don't run wallpaperengine?
you essentially don't have a gpu, so anything that does graphics stuff is taxing the cpu power limit
is this the new crysis?
oof
a 3990x gets 17fps
oh wait
thats a lot higher
it's oc'd to 4ghz all 64 cores to get 17fps average
those are software raytracing fps :p
what do you expect when you basically break down directX calls that are super wide vector calls to default x86 instructions
peak performance
even an asian could do those calcs faster
like i once saw this dude
bruteforcing a password from a hash in real time
in his head
So much fun when my pc only boots with safe boot and monitor off
Luckily there is safe boot button
get a gpu finally and if it is the igpu port, it wont be an issue
Can’t enable XMP because I can’t boot with bios not default
did you ever do a hard reset...
Don’t remember, how to do it?
shutdown system, unplug, hold power button to remove remaining electricity, unplug cmos battery for 5 minutes
So I have tested second monitor again… and the issue was eve spectrum.
What frequencies and voltages are you all daily driving your PCs?
stock bc auto "OC" aka boost on amd is better than static oc
I'd try undervolting if I had a different cpu, but the 5600x isn't even reaching 100W under max load
Why does intel XTU report crazy voltages like 1.6v while aorus system information viewer shows, as it should be, 1.37 V
How is it with VCCIO 1 and 2, what voltage is max safe to which?
sounds like loadlines
Any idea why does hwinfo and XTU show extremely different numbers from what I have set and what aorus monitoring stuff does? Like, it shows CPU going to 1.7v, which I definitely don’t want to happen. Also how to fix?

#LLC #Vdroop #Overclocking
Well, main things is, are these values safe?
idk I never used xtu or an 11thgen
What about hwinfo
look if you want to play with OC you really need to make sure you understand what those things mean and not punch in numbers you findon the internet
or you'll need another cpu soon
and the video explains the why it happens
Sure, but question is, is it safe since it happens? Pretty sure I was able to change this behavior in XTU but idk if I can in bios. Also, I think I saw that video once.
idk I have no clue what you set, what the bios values are etc.
Safe boot is great
Changing LLC does not help
The voltages just go crazy
Ima just safe boot into bios and stay there till I figure this out.
Lower voltage is better. stop trying to kill your poor transistors
If you set voltages in bios, the voltage will be under vcore in hwinfo64
If you set it in xtu, xtu is correct
I uninstall program in windows, try to install it back, but can’t because it’s already there. Still see it in apps g features but can’t uninstall it from there because of error?
Thing is, hwinfo show different values than what is set in bios.
Yes
Very different
1.375 vs 1.7
screenshot
Don’t have discord on pc
I'll tell you if that's the correct value
Ok so picture of screen
It's not easy to figure out what numbers are correct
Don’t wanna risk it, 1.7 is too high. XTU didn’t have this issue with voltage set to static.
Yes it did
You need to set voltages properly, otherwise the reported numbers will be incorrect
Xtu doesn't set them properly
So how to set them?
You only want to use xtu to decrease voltages from stock
Depends on your mother oard
Ask in the CPU overclocking channel for your specific board
In the overclocking discord
But manual vcore set to 1.375 with loadline set to 3rd from the lowest setting would work
I did set it manually in BIOS
No
There's a bunch of different modes
It has to say "manual"
Not override or static
There is no manual, but there is also fixed. And it didn’t work.
May be one issue with XTU, however uninstalled it and because of this great OS can reinstall it neither uninstall what’s not allowing me reinstall.
You need to listen
Each bios is different. There is one window with three settings. Fixed adaptive and override, that’s all. Idk if it’s somewhere else
But also may not work if I don’t manage to uninstall one thing with intel XTU
and I just can’t
If xtu can change the voltages, something is wrong
Why? XTU has voltage in settings
And I think the XTU profile may not be properly uninstalled. Which could cause it. Issue is, I can’t reinstall XTU to check it.
Someone else literally said it can be caused by XTU. And changing voltage in XTU changed stability on different frequencies so it must be able to change it. But to trying to find the manual settings, this is what I get.
Issue is it’s too much. I found the good voltage, just can’t set it to it.
Why even bother
Also that 1.250V is definitely not OCed iGPU
Because 1.7v is not ok long term. Instead of 1.375 that it should be.
Gotta love windows. Just can’t find a way to install XTU again to reset profiles to make sure it’s on board default
Xtu runs as a service, if the service is gone it isn't setting anything
https://www.pcinvasion.com/asus-possibly-developing-an-rtx-3070-in-collaboration-with-noctua/ rather interesting
Would be nice for people who wanna colour match their GPU to their noctua CPU.
Also GPU fans are always fucking trash because they're so low profile, thats why deshrounding GPUs shows such huge cooling improvements
Kinda totally pointless is they only do it for 3070 8GB though
prob as a test run
one SKU to test things makes sense, if that works expand the versions
