Seems to be the same trend for every printer I check, though
The wife
They're either bad, expensive, or a scam
There are good printers with excellent page costs, but they all seem to be north of 400€
That's not what I want to do, though
It's such a waste
Yeah
I think the EU is in need of some regulation in that space
You think?
This is Germany, everything needs to be on paper.
And that won't change in 10 years
Digital signatures? Not in my country.
thats why you turn it onto them and scam the printer maker by exploiting their deals
I bought my printer in march 2019 for 60€ and have since then only paid 1€ for ink
bc they had a deal going with it for their "instant ink" thing, where you get a monthly budget and pay for it, and when the cartridge runs low, you get a new one send to you
and it came with a a free tier for 15 pages a month, which is enough for me
ofc they hoped you'd need more and pay for going over it or go to a more expensive tier
@digital cliff Thinking Ender 3 v2, then?
and now it's gone, but after complaining to customer support and threatening with consumer rights, as long as I don't manually go a a different tier, I will always keep the free tier
What's the benefit of it?
Ah.
Well then, Ender 3 v2 it is.
There anything better for the price?
They're like 50€ now, but I feel you're paying for trash when you buy one of those
It'll likely go on the same stand everything else is on, so yes.
Though I'm not against switching out fans and doing the DIY if I need.
Noctua.
Little noisy bastards?
Lmfao
The little Noctua 40mms would work there?
Pog
Even with expensive printers with cheap page yield, eventually toner will be the expensive thing
Not if you refill
For the printer we have at home, really we use it too little for it to matter much.
At the very least I will not buy ink from the manufacturers brand. That generally is just needlessly expensive.
Granted I will only replace it around once every 3-4 years.
Better not let Dell hear you say that.
Those guys LOVE their overpriced printer shenanigans.
Dell at the very least is not a major player on the printer market.
Lexmark for lyf
Not had good experience with lexmark myself.
From what I used brother generally seems the least bad option.
u mean never
people said the same thing u did 10 years ago
look where we are
Eh it's getting better
My wife has to print a paper, sign it, scan it in, and upload it
But signing with a pen on a tablet? Not ok.
I saw a HP printer ad earlier today
You need an online connection and only HP ink for it to work
What of you are in a place that doesn't have HP ink
You'd have to order online every time
or you do the hp instantink plan and get it send to you once it goes low
it's what I have
Doubt they offer that in some regions
don;t see why they wouldn't
Yes
But google assistant doesn't technically work in Ireland
Yet you can still get it to work :') if you change region on phone
A lot of things are region locked that shouldn't be
Like DVD .-.
It's optional...
Huh?
The HP+ thing
I fail to see how a shipment plan is similar to a software service using regional things...
Yes, you can use the printer without that
...
I'll just pretend this never happend and continue with my questing..
Wot that
The plan that they send you ink when it's gone?
Yes
That's not what I'm saying
I'm saying, on the ad, in the small text at the bottom of the screen towards the end, it said that the printer will only let you print things if you use HP branded ink
HP+ is optional. That requirement is only true with HP+
That's not my argument
Ye that's normal shit sadly
Fuck if I know
Something like facebooks Quest 2 account requirements I think
It's better that way
You can get the automatic ink renewal without HP+
Yeah, I'm just not gonna buy any HP printer ever
It's just included in this sub for these printers
With cloud based shit, apps etc
All a big ass bundle
With smart printers
RIP OxygenOS ;_;
The better Android skin
OK it's not a sub
"HP+ is not a subscription. It is a cloud-based printing solution embedded in select HP printers. There are no costs specifically associated with HP+ beyond the initial purchase of the printer"
I've been wondering
Should I refurbish my old phone, or consider a new one?
Funny thing is, the HP+ printers are 25% cheaper for the same model
"No. Customers can choose to participate in Instant Ink, which provides greater convenience and cost savings of up to 70 percent on HP original Ink3 or 50 percent on HP Original Toner4 or purchase Original HP Ink or Toner directly from the retailer of their choice. HP+ printers requires the use of Original HP Ink or Toner to operate, for the life of the printer, even after expiration of the 6 month of Instant Ink offer.
After the initial 6 months, unless cancelled, Instant Ink services will be charged based on your current service plan. For Instant Ink plan options visit:"
It works. So yes
Camera isn't the greatest, but beyond that, it's good
I would want a new battery and a new display
I like my phone but the battery is sucking ass rn
Maybe just the glass
Same for me since upgrading to MiUI 12.5
But a 4 year old AMOLED isn't gonna be fresh either, but it works
Looks like 70€ for a display kit, and 25€ for a battery
I agree
Microsoft has quietly launched its own version of Linux called CBL-Mariner. What is Common Base Linux (CBL)? Why has Microsoft released it? Is this Microsoft's future? Let's find out.

🤔
It seems to be Fedora based... uses DNF
Aimed for servers so no GUI desktop
WAIT WTF
WINDOWS 365?????
CLOUD DESKTOP?!
mmm, yes, I wanna stream my entire OS to my computer, why not
TBH, id use it, if it meant I didnt have to tarnish my own drives to Windows
Just stream it :') but then id have even more lag and no games so meh
This is clearly aimed at production environments
Yeah, true
One cloud account, access anywhere for workers and things
🤔 you have to be already on Windows to use it though
It's better for terminals
Seems you still need Windows on the client
This seems to be similar to what my college does....
Each time you login, at any computer, it has all your changes and files on it already
Login takes almost 3 minutes though so....hope this is faster
Yeah
🤔 Interesting
I no use Epic Store but this project is neat
I don't know why people are doing Epic's work for them, tbh
Sure, they don't even have a reason to, when others do their work
why would epic not ever make this? what would be the reason for that?
Cause why would they care about having their games on Linux?
They ban you anyway if you try it
"modified OS" or something
wot
You play Fortnite on Linux, you could get banned
I miss the old Epic
The Linux ver. included on CD Epic
wot?
That was like in the late 90s early 00s or so
ok but they could literally make egs a linux thing without making their games run on linux (unlikely but an option)
and unlike the example for games, here it would make more sense financially as they get a cut and dont have to maintain linux games of other publishers
Why though, Why have a launcher that doesnt let you launch the games on an OS you can get banned from the games for launching the games on?
no?
because you can make money from it, as it's a vastly different case from a game making a linux build
Unless they guarantee you will not get banned playing their games on Linux, then why bother making a Linux version of the launcher and store?
because, as I said, you can make a linux store version without making a linux version of fortnite
??? lana what are you talking about, please read what I'm saying
....
I'll say it again, they can make a linux launcher without officially making fortnite work on linux
and it would makes sense from a $$$ standpoint
Why would they make their store available on Linux? Most people will buy a game and want to play it immediately without changing back to Windows to launch it

.. are you forgetting they have a ton of other games on the store?
and not just fortnite?
Epic did 😛
Unreal? Wut dat.
Anti-cheat = what bans you
The game doesnt
The game can run fine but the anticheat can ban you if it wants
Yes...?
But not all games have anticheats
What am I reading?
Nonsense
can play anti-cheat free games without issues on unsupported OSs
cause no risk of being banned
ok so then it will just have games that run fine on linux like any singleplayer game
if the game due to anti cheat isn't supporting it, just don't list it
Also, it's only a matter of time until the rest of the anti-cheats work in Proton
and just list the games that do (probably every linux compatible single player game)
Wait, some do?!
?????? do you think every linux compatible single player game has anti cheat or what
im so incredibly confused
I think EAC does?
no
Not sure
EAC.... thats the last one I expected for that, if this is true
I saw a list a while ago, I'll look for it
ok so lets reiterate, you know there are games that work on linux and dont get you banned, but you think it would make no sense for epic to make a linux store version to sell those, did I get that right?
Nope, EAC doesn't work yet
Yeah, but their most popular game is literally online MP only.... most players using epic games launcher play that one
But yes, what you said is true for those specific games
yes, as I said multiple times, they can make it run on linux and sell linux games without touching fortnite, hence it would make sense to at some point add it
for single player only games, sure
or multiplayer games without anti cheats that dont run on linux
.. you cant tell me you think every mp games has anti cheats
99%
Factorio
not every multiplayer game is a competetive fps...
anti cheat isnt for a genre, its to prevent cheating in any game
every time I'm amazed by your ability to selectively not read parts of a sentence...
OFC not every MP games is an FPS.... xd
World of Tanks also seems to work
Quint going mad here :p
but 99% games have anticheat
.. and you did it again xD
No
?
99% has no anticheat
wot
there are multiplayers games that are not competetive, why would you prevent cheating in games you play not against others but do a coop story for example
To sell more micro transactions.
Anti-cheat is for preventing people hacking in OP things or boosting their stats artificially

That would benefit hackers in any type of game
yeah I guess you're right, I constantly get banned from playing dont starve together or divinity with friends while im running cheat engine too
Might get into trouble with Ubi
AoE I/II/III also work
And it's been a competitive multiplayer game since forever
Factorio
payday 2 apparently also has anti cheat, never knew about that
Stardew valley
remember the big wave of portal 2 players being banned for hacking?
GTA V works on Proton
.. there is no anti cheat on payday 2, that was the point
Heck even ESO works on Proton
And that's a literal MMO
point was there are a shit ton of mp games without anti cheat
for example, basically every non pvp game in existance
Even Minecraft multiplayer on its own has basically no anti cheat
I think you were mixing up " multiplayer" with "online pvp"
Wouldn't be surprised if FF14 has some anti cheat given how picky it is with your IP address and supposed location.
wot now
COD games have anti-cheat cause you cant join a MP match if your NAT type is "poor"
.-.
I mean, Minecraft is pvp
All modern MMOs have anticheat
Often a custom solution or GG
and not 100% of online pvp games have anti cheat, hence it making sense if you only think of pvp games when thinking of multiplayer
1v1 me in spleef scrub.
Yes, it works
Okay. Ip and time?
It’s too late for excuses. It’s time for 1v1
Tell real IP

wait I hear noise behind me
Surely the trick is to save game edit, not the RAM
Quack quack mofo
why do I see reflection of duck in my window
That's sometimes even more difficult, easier to encrypt
:SOON:
It’s time
oh my god
@pale sigil
I will no longer bully you for your 833 quid for an RTX 3080
because that's a downright steal compared to 770 for a 3070Ti
More than I'd personally pay, but still less than some others have paid
Hope it's not the one with the busted fan controller
Also, that sounds like a downgrade to me
That's probably because you shouldn't have paid more than 700 for the 6800 XT either :p
Yeap
And people pay and the scalpers win 🤷
Me? Still on a Radeon VII
You'll find the 3070s DLSS functionality to be fairly good, but not amazing.
Source: I have 17 of those GPUs.
It draws significantly less power than a 3070 Ti FTW :p
When it works it works pretty well, but don't expect it to be god tier.
Same story.
DLSS is alright, but not amazing.
Except for when it works well.
DLSS 2.0 with a well optimized game is great.
Unfortunately that list is like 20 games long.
No, in my opinion the best thing about the RTX cards is Nvidia Broadcast.
Broadcast is nut.

Fans? No noise.
Gunshots? No noise.
Loud trains and shit, no noise.
Leaf blower into the mic? Somehow no noise.
There you go. My VII is undervolted to draw 220W at max load and 1800 MHz
But even stock it draws 15% less power than a stock 3070 Ti
Sounds about right.
My 3070s run at something like 120W.
I'd wager you could probably push a 3070Ti to something like 230W or so.
For games maybe 250.
Under what, Furmark?
Reviews don't tend to undervolt the card and they also tend to hit it with a synthetic load.
That's Furmark
Unfair comparison if you consider under reviews the 3090 pulls over 400W overclocked.
That's... not how GPUs work.
The VII is an impressive card that maintains stability with lower voltage.
If you undervolt it you can get some really nice performance.
But if you don't bother and leave it stock, sure.
The Titans aren't gaming cards either, doesn't matter.
If it computes graphics it can be a gaming card.
Personally I wouldn't buy any of em for gaming.
I'd go for an EVGA 3080Ti and mine CCX on it when I'm not gaming.
Or a 3090.
Other than that I'd probably go AMD at the moment.
You, sir, have no idea what you're doing.
Buying a GPU isn't really about what is newer.
raised eyebrow I don't just mine, friend.
Take today, I had to work out a good deal on a GPU for someone. Happened to be the 980Ti SC for the best deal.
That's an impressive little card, good value too.
Would I buy a 3070Ti right now?
Fuck no.
The value isn't there, not in the long run.
Really if you demand new tech and want something at a good price you'd wanna be finding a 2080 Super or an underground deal on a 3080.
Your point?
You have full access to gray markets, everyone does.
Could have done better.
The switch into GDDR6X is pretty big.
New?

Again, gray markets exist for a pretty good reason.
Which is why you find the ones with warranty attached.
And you demand testing before purchase.
And you do cash pickup to force the price down.
980Ti tody for $250 AUD, mate.
Cash pickup.
He wanted 350 for it, I simply offered 200 cash pickup, he demanded 250 and so that's what we're on.
so
Sometimes you get lucky like that.
does anyone else tab out bc of the wooting software
or is that just me nd my friend
rolls eyes It's an EVGA SC, those are known not to break and even if the fans do I can buy spares on ebay.
More importantly I can just fix it if it does break.
Warranty is good if you don't have the skill to DIY things. 👌
Soldering iron and basic shopping skills on aliexpress so I can source components?
Or, if you look, people over in china that can grab comps for the cheap.
China is so good for that.
Though if you need to reflow SLCs that can be annoying if it fucks up.
Then you have to reball it, and that's nightmare.
Sure, and that's why we use the magic of ruthless economy.
A 980Ti to me isn't much, but it's a little banger of a card that's known to last.
shrugs Risk reward.
I have a cheap GPU now that everyone else wants 400+ for.
Minimum I can flip it for 150 profit in a day.
Just go on Marketplace and type in "3070Ti".
Look for an afternoon.
Use your haggling skills.

Bruh. Imagine being this toxic.
raised eyebrow Aight, aight. You did make a couple of idiot blanket statements, but being deluded is ok.
So long as it's your delusion and it's not harming others it's perfectly fine.
Used GPUs suddenly being shitty for... reasons I guess?
Any particular reason used GPUs are shitty?
Been buying used for years because it's not hard to keep things running and over hundreds of used things I've had a few minor issues?
We all know from the existence of flawlessly working 7900 series nvidia that GPUs last a LONG time if they're treated well, so how is used shitty?
Dude, 770 of your currency is $1440 AUD.
I recently purchased a 3070Ti for cheaper with warranty on Marketplace.
It's a good deal for a brand new GPU out of a shop, but why does that matter if it's working fine and has warranty?
3070Tis exist well under that price, you just kinda need to look.
Look, and have haggling skills. Being able to talk the price down, trading in cash, etc.
You were looking online, mate.
The internet and stores are not the only place to buy a GPU.
Doesn't matter if it's used for a month and still has warranty.

Aeon actually has a point there
No shit.
used + warranty basically is just as good as a new card
at MSRP, most definitely; not when the stores are doing the prescalp lmao
It's called buy with cash, 4head.
In person where you can validate it works.
With a warranty.
another reason to have an ITX rig
something you can bring with for part validation
You purchased one used GPU that was bad and tried making idiot blanket statements, then?

Or you go second hand and buy something cheaper, all but new, and it has warranty.
tip one, know a guy
Or know a guy, yeah.
tip two, don't pay more than MSRP
You can find them in a day or two.
my RTX 3070, I knew a guy, he hooked me up with one at MSRP within a few weeks of asking for the hookup

Dude, just use the power of google.
You understand that you have the entire wealth of knowledge that every single human alive has at your fingertips, right?
You aren't without better options.
Ah but no!
5 degrees of separation, remarkably useful tool.
On average you can go from one person to someone else within 5 steps.
actually...not at best buy, just a guy who has a PC shop, has for longer than I've been alive and can easily get hooked up quite easily
Just a matter of talking to the right people and making friends in the right places. :D
^ Know the right guy. :D
If you wanna make connections you wanna be going deep into the 2nd hand market.
also...mom and pop PC shops, great for a lot of part gathering and interacting with actual humans
Old comps for the cheap.
A lot of em will have connections you can get.
Met a dude selling some Xeons I picked up for an old server and he put me in contact with a shop owner. He's been pretty good for me recently.
Honestly, the value there isn't even in the components, it's the connections.
Got a dude on ebay that sells me mining boards for $200 cheaper than everywhere else rn. It's pog.
yeee, that shop owner guy actually asked me if I wanted some retired servers from a bank IT solutions dude he sources PCs for
I passed
but damn
He put me in contact with a CPU seller, now I can get reasonably prices Celerons.
^
Oh man, I would have taken it.
Might have gotten something awesome.
Massive xeon cluster or something prolly.
but I didn't have the scratch atm and didn't want to go digging
...canuckistani, mate
Fair, fair.
Got it cash pickup, but the delivery down to NSW will only tack on $15 or so.
Very pog.
They're rare, but they do.
run by...people
Often amazing deals.
I remember Linus getting a 980Ti a few years ago for $300 back when they were selling for 500+.
2tb SATA SSD, 300 CAD MSRP, for...250
It's a 3070Ti, numbnuts, they're all LHR.
:D
Feeling good about the FHR cards, tbh.
If the limiter isn't cracked soon they'll likely be selling way higher.
Especially once EIP1559 is stable.
It has GDDR6 like a normal 3070.
or one of the AMD cards, since I find I need more VRAM over RT
It's the 3080+ that have GDDR6X.
Ah wait, no.
I'm mistaken.
Ok pog. Hot ram in the card. 👌
MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio
Yep, I caught myself there.
definitely not LHR since I had it last year
They sell for 2200CAD.
Lmfao
And it's a Gaming X Trio, not a bad card either.
69 👌 degrees at full load, baby
it is, to miners
Nobody mining is buying 3070Tis unless they're mining something DAGless.
like Aeon
raised eyebrow Lmfao
nope, he's a full blown

he has yet to stab me with a pickaxe
I'm trying, dw.
therefore "mining" Doge
Idk what to mine rn, tbh.
Part of me wants to see where EIP1559 goes, but ergo is looking juicy.
shit
maybe I should get a R7 5700G and sell my GPU
I don't really game too much anymore
pretty much burned out
check out the meshlicious
Plus the FTW3 is such a stupidly bulky card.
thing is pog as fuck
Does not need so much pointless bulk.
also...the pukefest RGB

and...I can confidently say the XC3 honestly looks damn good
having one of those myself
Aye.
that was my original choice for a GPU
Mmm, Zotac and Galax both have some pretty small 3070s.
I'd offer to buy it, but I don't want that bulky monster.
Since when is Zotac not acceptable?
How so? Had a great reputation.
that's fine...I'll sell it locally when I snag a pog AMD APU
Always little tiny things. I remember when they released their little micro 1080Ti.
Monster card, that.
PALIT. xD
Iirc Palit makes great AMD cards, tho.
...you stole my line
I'm the one who shits on the yanks
I've seen canadian listings
Yeah, Palit is pretty far down the pile.
usually imported from asia though
I'd say the best of the best rn are probably EVGA, Zotac, then maybe Asus.
not true...NA cards
EVGA winning that is unsurprising.
MSI's more preem offerings are good too
never discount them
also...kings of budget ryzen IMO
Yeah, but that's more from their firmware atm.
Defo gone a little downhill since the Maxwell line.

he's an Aussie
our fucked up, thong and cunt loving brother from the commonwealth's armpit

nah, Aeon's alright
it'll fit in an ITX rig
it gets bonus points for that
even if it runs at reference speeds
It runs OC, dude.
yep
Everyone else was doing this size with 1060s and stuff, but apparently Zotac was not impressed.
@prisma crag
A little crammed.
Wasn't a competition OC card or anything, but it could super hold it's own.
He's so proud of his alright deal...
Idk if I've ever seen more buyer overcompensation.

Maybe...
Read the rest of that a little closer.
Just a little.
$3 of value.
And isn't fitted.
Maybe to you.
But that shop? $3 each.
If they're offering them on sales they're probably buying massive bulk.
Y'know what's pog?
I got a 3080 a few days ago, about to flip for a few hundred.
I thought it'd fit in the mining rig. It does not.
Mining doge, cringe.
I have a heap of cards, dude. That's kinda how you crypto mine.
Unless ASICs, but I don't feel that foolish.
Don't have the connections yet to justify ASICs.
Or the cash, tbh. Those only get worth it when you're trading in the hundreds of thousands.
Otherwise GPUs give you slightly lower ROI with less risk.
RAM runs too hot for long term mining, the ROI is higher than 2 3070s for the price, and the card is really big which makes fiting it hard.
Plus the power density becomes a problem since you can't just run splitters on 6 pins.
Lmfao no.
I'd rather buy a 3090 so I can mine on it as well.
That or a 3080Ti.
Yes, but it runs about twice as fast as a 3070 for, if you can locate them, less than half the price.
The power density is a problem, but with the 1600W PSUs I have it's not too bad.
Hashrate, buddy.
Average about 124MH/s on Ethash, a 3070 does 62 to 63.
^
shrugs Be that as it may, I'm making more annually than you do with less effort.
I'm not turning down the chance to have a good financial situation for a future family because it offends some people.
I don't, but what I do isn't illegal and I also don't need to put heaps of routine effort into it.
Depends on the crypto, Locke.
Take Solana, for example, that crypto aims to be a second internet that can't be censored.
I run purely from renewables.
But ok.
Well, kinda.
Mostly renewables with some peaker plants, but everyone is forced into that for now.
More power capacity, damnit.
Or nuclear.
I'd be fine with more nuclear.
I can hope. :(
Wait, nuclear bombs?
Who tf wants more nukes?
I'm not an amoral bastard, I won't go near nukes.
Nuclear fusion, man.
I love that tech, I just hope it pans out with ITER soon.
Mass fusion is absolutely a game changer if it works well.
I didn't say nukes, Locke. :L
...
I didn't do that, friend.
Screenshot for example.
Nuclear.
:/
Pog!
Dude, I am so fucking ready.
Not for a long while.
The oil companies have too much lobbying power.
Nah, we're not.
Oil guys are, they hate the thought of good nuclear.
That's what stops us.
Why the hate today, bub?
Our government gets lobbied (bribed) hard by the oil industry, what we officially say is, in the background, said by them.
Most people like the thought of sustainable clean energy.
And wind.
And hydro where we can get it.
And molten salt storage.
Have you seen the Great Barrier Reef? When we need to we do not care for nature.
As for Fusion? Fusion is clean, it harms nothing.
By your logic we'd take that over oil and coal.
Because we nearly killed it?
We destroyed biospheres in this country, it was horrible so we went to fix that.
Enter the 2016 conservation act.

If you're that unsure on your purchase that you need people on the internet to validate it for you, did you make the right purchase?
It was a horrible deal, lmfao.
For pre scalped prices it ain't bad.
But omg.
Yes, horrible.
Minimum 30% overpaid.
Mid-high tier GPU should never be that much.
A 3080Ti should be that much, maybe.
For the high end models.
Yes.
Are you aware that's still a bad deal?
The retailers are now scalping.
^ That
Yes.
So you go second hand like a smart child and get a better deal.
With warranty.
Yeah, it does.
You just need the receipt.
Nah, they're not that rare.
I'd say 70% don't.
Then you want a shit deal.
The cheapest retail is a ripoff, rn.
That's the problem.
You got a shit deal because all of the retailers are giving out shit deals.
How so? A 2070 was reasonably priced. So were 2070Tis.
Those were near 900 AUD or so.
Maybe 500 of your currency.
I'm adjusting for that.
So explain how 1440 AUD converted is a good deal compared to what, in the last generation in the same tier, is $500 overpriced?
'Cause it's not.
It really is not a good deal.
I can find you some numbers if you want me to mathematically prove you an idiot as well.
I'm game for it. I have all afternoon.
I'll go grab some performance metrics as well if you'd like.
We can compare generational speed and price increase.
I'll even draw you up a chart.
I'll do it in your own country, mate.
Don't tempt me, I love doing this.
Eh, it kinda is.
Mid-high.
Defo not high end.
Think I give a shit about wiki?
Hell, lemme just go grab you a thing.
Sec.
Shhhh, hang on.
I'm about to prove you an idiot.
3080Ti is 40% faster.
So is the 3090.
Now, hang on.

No.
And hell, even then the normal 3080 is still 25% faster.
BRUH.
A 3080TI IS A CUT DOWN 3090.

Same core, less VRAM, worse binned.

Google proves you wrong, idiot.
Lmfao
Look, Locke, he's falling back on shitty arguments.
He knows he's beaten.
Yeah no.
That there is wrong.
It wins by 33%.
General speed.
If you want Tensor specifically, yeah.
It's perfectly fine for rough performance.
Don't take it as final word, but it shows at least a rough chart.
High end card. Lmfao
It performs worse than a 3080, the 80 line being high end.
So what we call that is mid-high.
Yes, the high end cards of the generation.
What you have is mid-high end.
The high end of the middle bracket.
Almost high end but not quite enough to shift over.
The 3070Ti is fairly close, however.
No.
Enthusiast is Titan, 3080 and 3080Ti are both not Titan.
A 3070Ti is mid-high end.
You kinda have no arguments, though.
Not ones backed by anything.
And the one source you choose is wikipedia?
Want me to explain why we have that?
The mid end is usually pretty packed across the board, a LOT of cards tend to fit in that area (seen in the last 3 generations), so we say mid (middle) mid-high (upper mid) mid-low (lower mid).
It makes it easier when you compare cards of multigeneration.
I mine Eth with a 50,000 farm.
-_-
As for my GPU? I'm holding my 1080Ti because it's still fantastic and I'm skipping 3000 series cards.
Gimmie that sweet next gen nvidia.
Nah.
All of my mining goes back into my business.
Cycling it for a minimum of 5 years.
No shit.
I, like a good business owner, put my resources into growing my company.
Instead of wasting it on something that I don't need?
Lmfao
You don't know much about crypto, do you?
Why do you think I didn't invest my money?
I purchased things I can easily liquidate.
rolls eyes
Mining doesn't harm the card any more than gaming does.
Gaming is worse for the card than mining, weirdly enough.
Remember, it's all about how you treat the cards.
Mine are well within temp range and I don't push em too hard.
Not like I'm trying to burn them.
^
Idk how selling mining cards is scum, they run fine.
that didnt happen in 2018 and 2019

mining on a card is actually less stress on the card than gaming...
mining runs an extremely consistent load where gaming causes all sorts of transients
Also the thermal contraction and expansion problem.
🤷♂️ people bought the shit out of the mining cards
explain how a consistent load could possibly stress the card more than an extremely transient load
nope
vram usage is 3.8gb
Wrong.
on an 8gb card thats very little of the memory
Under Ethash the VRAM is about 4.5GB now.
oh
DAG file is bigger.
xD
remember
gaming loads are alot more transient
electronics are designed to handle consistent load
transients are what kill

Imagine losing an argument so badly that you nope out.
Get asked to source your claims and then you yeet because you know you lost.
Espresso Depresso
i really wish amd would you know
show some competence?
@astral haven What're your thoughts on algos like CNGPU for GPU damage?
Very core heavy.
id really like to buy a radeon card for the overclocking
🤷♂️ dunno i only know the one that nicehash picks for my card lmao
Lmao
sigh
F

When you lose an argument so badly that you debase to immature insults to try and win.
nah i just did the sc over discord
Most companies do back ally deals, idiot.
It's part of tax evasion.
He was the guy telling you you're wrong as well.
But ok.
🤷♂️ i still mine when im cold lel
god damn it again?
im mining to pay for a hobby i cant afford with my job
3090
Crypto is a long term investment game. xD
jobs
Yes, hard work like starting up a business and growing into other industry.

So the thing I have investors for and run for the purpose of trading isn't a legitimate business? Especially when it runs the best financial exchange ever made?
...
Wut
It's a maximum of 30 minutes to get any amount of assets transfered anywhere in the world...
Slowest???
You ever moved money between banks accounts in different countries?
It takes several days
Yea for someone in the same country?
PayPal has very very low limits
Nah that's a myth, crypto is easily traceable
Crypto is definitely faster
It's by definition not...
A Ponzi scheme is an actual thing with a definition...
It's not like a random thing you can say when you don't like something...
@astral haven He doesn't understand it.
sigh
Uneducated people have no idea what they're talking about.
Nah tbh the problem is that even educated folks aren't taught economics
Crypto is being picked up by the UK banks, Visa, Mastercard, all of Elons holdings, and Amazon.
How tf is it dying?
AMAZON is picking up crypto.
A M A Z O N
China makes alot of things illegal
Look at Amazon and google
Doing just fine without china
Literally not, china already blocked crypto and while it did decrease mining alot, the network is still going strong
It's more efficient than our classical fiat banking system is...
And uh
It literally is using the electricity itself as collateral...
Doge also has an extremely high market cap and daily volume.
There are other ways to run a cryptocurrency besides electrically backed, but noone has bothered yet...
In case you didn't know
Sheer value of the token doesn't show the worth of the coin itself.
Look
I know that you won't believe anything we say
But you can't just repeat random opinions on the internet and expect them to be correct

Dude
Doge can't be mined on GPUs...
And I don't think anyone is arguing that Asic mining is good...
You tried it?
You get any doge?
Or were you using a spigot and not actually mining
Yea so you were using a spigot
GPUs can't mine doge
Nicehash doesn't mine doge on a gpu...
Lmfao
Mining is just about the same efficiency as my central heating, and it has paid for a small portion of my graphics card addiction
And it runs while I'm at work...
Uhh, dude.
Have you considered that we still have R9 Fury Nanos being mined on since release?
Phone better discord?
Ah.
I wish.
Lmfao
@last cave Love you bb.
Your anger sustains me. <3
Oh nice idea.
I have a bit of CSS code that blocks those, didn't think about using a blocker.
The only thing screwing with your industry is the GPU shortage.
We've been here for years and you never even noticed us.
Since 2010, actually.
Nice.
No?
Most people are buying APUs because console scalpers are awful.
APUs happen to be the best option rn.

Remind me who runs most of your international money transfer?

Nobody uses NiceHash, my guy.
Most people use dedicated programs or operating systems.

@last cave So salty, friend. You ok bb?
I'd sue you for properly damage and trespassing and ruin your life. :)
Idk man, that sounds like an absolute slam dunk for me.
Lawyers would even do it pro bono.
What, you deliberately saying you'll invade my home and break my farm?
Bruh, better blood in the water you could not find.
I mean shit, please.
Go ahead, I could use the easy money.
You don't even know what a blockchain is.
Or the finer details of GPUs.
How tf do you know more than me.
I'm an actual network engineer.
Usually that's not said by a techy or someone with brains respectively
What are you?
Really, I'm sure we'd all be interested to know what you do for work.
I'm a mix of network engineer and business owner.
No, I used to work as a network engineer before I started doing crypto.
I found that I don't work well with others, I wanted to be my own boss.
So I left.
...
That's not what a network engineer does.
Yeah no.
That's like saying a pirate only stands in the crows nest.
Neither.
I was trained to build an engineer network solutions on the physical level with quite a bit of network configuration.
Mostly Cisco.
But hey, if you can do Cisco you can do literally anything.
Garbage product line.
But I mean hey, if you wanna talk about building a DHCP server I suppose we can talk Linux.
Cisco "IOS"
Fuck it's such an awful name
Why did they name it that
Because Cisco doesn't know how to make good things.
As evidenced by their shitty UI in everything.
@last cave But c'mon.
I shared.
What do you do for work?
Surely someone that claims to be a techie has a tech related job?
The passion and all that.
For who?
As in which development team?
Well that's not a name.
Which one?
So you're alone.
What have you made?
Any releases?
Surely you must have a release.
A game.
Well what do you do.
What game are you making?
What have you made?
Published works.
Idk man, sounds to me like you're lying.
You're a game dev working for a mystery team but you refuse to tell us even one work you've done?
Sounds like BS.
You're making a reputation for being both uneducated and a liar right now.
:/
How is the name of a title you made sensitive information?
Can I have a game name to search up on Steam?
Or just Google for that matter.
If I had to guess I'd say you're a liar, Ethnix.
I have a sneaking suspicion.
@prisma crag Also the conclusion I came to.
My guess is 16 or so.
Gave it away hard with that Dogecoin thing.
And thinking crypto is dying.
It can't be sabotaged if it's already released, kid.
I asked for a release, as in something that already is complete.
Why tf would I bother review bombing a small game, assuming you even have one?
And it's indie anyway assuming it's legit.
I have more decency than review bombing indie games. That's disgusting.
shrugs I don't care.
If it's made by an Indie team it gets respect.
My farm is barely worth 50 grand.
So yeah, I'd assume so.
My farm pays for my bills.
Eh.
So we've basically confirmed Ethnix is a little kid out of his depth.
Well that takes a lot of fun out of this. :L
In 7 years I'm a multimillionaire even if my farm does badly?
Crypto sure as hell isn't dying in 7 years, it has too much decen value for that.
what
That isn't even my message?
And I can mathematically prove it if you want.
I have the numbers here.
Eh, fuck it fine.
Let's do the math for fun.
i will never make profit with my cards lol but i bought a $2k graphics card so i wasnt expecting to
Assuming a cost per GPU (3070) of 1500 AUD.
One worker houses 12 GPUs (About 750MH/s Ethash).
One worker Core is worth about a grand.
This makes each worker of 12 worth, at this time, $19,000 AUD.
Each worker of 12 GPUs generates 58 AUD daily.
19,000 divided by 58 is 327 days and change.
327 days divided by 30 (one average month) is 11 months.
One rig of 12 cards produces, therefore, 21,000 AUD annually.
Taking into account that we assume you start with 1 rig, the first year it doubles to 2, the second year it doubles to 4, then 8, then 16.
Assume we stop at 16 rigs of 12 GPUs (192 GPUs), we produce somewhere around 941 AUD per day or $343,465 annually. Over the next 3 doubling cycles that'd put me at multimillionaire annually status.
TL;DR: Crypto is VERY profitable.
if you want you can drop the earnings by 50% due to difficulty increase and new GPUs, but at that stage you just buy ASICs.
Which is why you do mass purchasing, not one.
@last cave Now, we assume you aren't a liar and you really are a dev (you're not), your annual salary would be something near $200,000 USD if you're right at the tip top of a famous company.
Well, the math supports me.
Not you.
My farm gives me passive income by default?
