Micro LED will not scale to small enough subpixels, and if it did, it would have the same burn in issue that OLED has.

The issue is energy density. The only way to fix that is more efficient self emissive materials.
Organic LEDs are very good already, and we are inching closer to 2nd generation blue subpixel - and blue is the big issue (blue light is the most energetic).

Quantum dots have much higher efficiency, so you don't need to drive as much power to get equivalent light output.
But, again we are still stuck on blue quantum dot... we already have working red and green self emissive quantum dots.

Yes it even looks great in the dark and to notice blooming you would really need to come up close. Tbh I many times have all lights off in my room, but sometimes it makes me too sleepy. Also this on monitor I usually don’t use at night, just have it for ambient light when I get replacement mobo. Since having lights does not really matter to me rn if I am not watching movies on phone which I sometimes am since IPS blacks suck no matter the other stuff

Don’t need that much brightness too tbh. Currently have 750 nit max monitor at 75% and never needed more brightness. Especially since I mostly enjoy watching movies during night so no need for high brightness
