An internet connection is how secure devices fail
Ignorance is no excuse.
That's just them being smart about it, because pressing charges would probably cost them more money than they can expect in return. Plus clog the justice system
It's like that one time Viss accidentally stumbled on the control panel to a French turbine plant. Supposedly you could flood an entire region or blow up batteries with no login.
Yes he did contact authorities...who did nothing for months.

yeah but now it's biden and/or russia at fault instead of incompetence
When the US inevitably breaks down completely, it won't be a professional Hacker group in unmarked trailer trucks using satellite uplinks and 7 proxies.
It will be Billy Joe Jr. who left the power plant guest machine open.
Never cheap out on good engineers and basic security knowledge
ngl when i hear/read after burner i just think about mexican food
https://darko.audio/2021/05/schiit-piles-on-the-heresy-with-the-iemagni/ @neat oriole @digital cliff @young pecan
Audiophiles have something new to look into
Just gimme stock of anything ._.
Damn I wonder if IEMagni just outperforms Heresy and 3+
At this point I don't care. Whichever will be in stock
That's the problem
I signed up for stock updates on the EU store month ago
Not a single chirp to be heard
Uhh
Someone else here has been signed up since December haven't they
Not a single thing
Iemagni probably scuffed
I'd order from the US, but I'd end up having to pay in 120€ in customs + probably 80€ shipping and no warranty to top it off
If it’s more heresy than the heresy than it’ll be even more compressed sounding
God I hate this measure first listen later approach
Mmmm. Might need to upgrade to it.
30% faster than my 3950X is tasty.
Lmfao...
Imagine doing something on a blockchain relating to Ubisoft. Holy shit that's sketchy.
That has some super hardcore exploitation potential, I can almost hear Activision making frantic phone calls.
That might be more viable if I'd need just one piece
I'm looking for two stacks of Modi 3+ and Magni 3+
Why is the title on the gameboy off center?!!
The blue logo on the grey?
DOT MATRIX WITH STEREO SOUND
Ah that. Fair 😄
Easy to replace the cover though.
why should it be centered?
looks better
disagree
In this video I will show you how I connected the Game Boy Tetris to the internet!

I think it balances out the left sided weight of the Nintendo Game Boy TM
I gave my gbc and gba-sp the ips treatment, fun and looks a lot better.
Cartridges are prohibitively expensive around here - And so are the screen replacements for a few games.
(And then there's the issue with the massive offbrand copy cartridge industry)
I personally have a decent number of games and also really don't have any problems with pirating old games that moved way beyond the point of it making sense.
I just got a flash card and so far I mostly played things I own anyway.
As for screen replacements, they are not that bad in terms of price. While being a fun thing to do / renew some interest in actually playing.
Adding the two I got my money's worth especially if you compare it to one single new game.
To me Nintendo is not getting any money if you buy it from ebay anyway.
or the developer in question.
I wouldn't go that far but still I agree used classic games is more a collectors thing.
because you cant read
hmm PCIe x 16 4.0 @ ...
my firefox buttons stopped being there..... wtf?!
It clocks down to save power...
Well ain't that great
and idownload
Anyways
You'll have to wait then, I'm afraid
ok
Wonder what Valve seems to be cooking
heck of alot of stuff lel
Something hardware, probably running user-friendly desktop Linux
nah its for the standalone vr headset
it aint free tho
still costs your morals
i mean i own it
but only the people who pretty much already know the whole story are gonna buy it
i mean the story of hlvr
not hla
Wtf
dont know this site?
Combine combine all civilisations they meet.
@prisma crag I didn't know the story
Not too shabby, what else is in it
No tax/vat? lucky fuck
oh
That's just a 3090, I thought it was a prebuilt
Gotcha
@prisma crag I'm just waiting till j get vr again
I'll say nothing then 😁
@prisma crag Jeeeeez!
That's a REALLY high end Zotac card.
Idk if it's meant for LN2, but it's defo far up there.
love how available speed on most brokers went to shit after buyers decided to lower the prices for no reason
oh no, musk tweeted, crypto is dead!
@shadow minnow ure mac pro arent u
Why?
in settings
u mean system preferences?
Hmm, never had to do that, but maybe this could help https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-erase-your-macbook-and-restore-factory-settings-before-selling-it/
can’t check my macbook’s battery is dead
Don’t think you need it
ya just saw it
now im confused
which of the many boot.efi files is it
more?
theres quite a few of these
but no pure boot.efi
revocery seems to be broken
@ashen spindle THERE?
@fickle ore now I am
m.2 is nice just because it takes no space
Yeah but you can just shove a sata in the back of your case
Also m.2 sata exists as well I guess
can't do that in my case anymore
untill we get clear cases where it's worth having extra speeds for directstorage or similar I'm staying closer to the 100/1tb price. and if we get a usecase where it happens, doesn't hurt to then buy a new one and have extra storage for other things imo
WD blue sata is like 80 eur for me rn
^
For 1TB
SATA O=!#O="#O!="#
90-100 for the WD blue m.2
Cheapest it’s been in about 2 years
im not upgrading to damn sata XD
sure its not as great as the samsung pro series, but are you getting 2x the value from it?
Ill check the wd
extra 75€ is relatively little, make that in couple hours hehe
well I compare prices relative to the product, so regardless of how fast you make 75€, double the price for no reason and I stay away from it usually
Plus direct storage will probably be with the newer gen 4 pcie SSDs
980 is still gen 3
I’m pretty sure gen 4 is 990
yeah but work != best results and so far we dont know if it's the same or vastly different for pcie3/4
Oh wait nvm
yea I know, i was originally looking for a nvme 1.4 but there is not much different vs 1.3c :F
Wonder if they coming up with updated models if theres a discount??
Honestly
Judt want 2tb nvme to be affordable
Don't want big drives anymore
Not even bothered ahout speed that much for the 2tb
I disagree, compared to mechanical drives they aren't even remotely affordable
you want 2tb nvme to be cheaper than 1tb nvme?...
£180 is not affordable
No
I mean
I want the prices to be more reasonable in general
Like why does an ssd cost nearly the same as an nvme
Where's the login
I dont understand your argument here
you mean 2.5" sata?
Surely that means the ssd market should go down
they are both ssds..
Yes
yeah because they are both almost the same
You know what I mean
aside from the controller
nvme is the successor to sata
I know their both ssds
the cost comes from the flash memory
Yes but the point still stands
A sata ssd is less superior so why the same price
if you have 2 things worth 50$ and on one you can use it faster, then you can't suddenly sell the other for less
So like a normal sata ssd can't magically be as fast
flash chips are the same memory just different controller for the most part
So even if you magically made it into an m2 or nvme
It would still be inferior
Right?
no
Speed wise anyway
NVM Express® (NVMe® is a specification defining how host software communicates with non-volatile memory across a PCI Express® (PCIe®) bus. It is the industry standard for PCIe solid state drives (SSDs) in all form factors (U.2, M.2, AIC, EDSFF).
So you're saying a normal ssd is capable of doing 5000
But because of sata
It can't
yes
Oh really
bit simplified but yes
Not simplified
If you somehow converted it
To work with m2/nvme
Without changing its controller etc
It could reach 5000
no because the controller handles that...
So again inferior product
No? You need the controller to be able to handle the PCIe communication
the controller is not whats costing the most here...
if you have 95$ cost for the memory you cant make the end product cost less...
Idk I just think it's still they sre both the same price but vastly different
the flash memory is by far the most expensive part on both
Would that make a normal ssd go 5000?
Like would that adapter allow a 850 Samsung on par with an nvme
Speed wise
Cos I doubt it
if I were to sell something that's costing me exactly 50$ to make, and if I change a little bit to make it much better I still can't sell the other one for less than 50
Which would make it useless
thats how you need to look at it
No, because you would still be limited by the sata connection
I guess
if you go and desolder the memory chips onto a nvme capable pcb then you can use it
Developing for PCIe is expensive
because why make additional costs when it's still fine for 80% or so of usecases?
sata is shit it doesnt go thru pcie
Sata ends up going though pcie
But the idea of just having 2 nvme drives on the mobo is nice
no it doesn't
Thanks for explaining the ssd thing Quinty 👍
Honesty didn't know SSDs were actually capable technically out of the box.
Whys why I never suggest buying 500gb nvme drives
Controller still costs a fair amount
On a mass scale anyway
Not really
at 1tb the cost for the controller is <1% of the total price
Nvm
I read the chart again
Not what they meant
If you could change both the controller and somehow convert it to work with m2 slot
Hol upn
still wouldnt work
Don't m2 sata drives exist
yes m2 is just a form factor
They have both
because u need pci-e wires routed in the motherboard, sata does not have that
That sata drives will be inferior regardless
Even if you magically converted them
Then again I guess you're still right
About price of the actual flash and dram
I like the less overall cables that comes with m.2 😄
At least the ssd market isn't as bad as it uses to be
That's another point I guess, doesn't prices usually drop as tech gets easier to make etc
Because that's already happened once before with ssds yearsssss ago
If you have important stuff you shouldn't rely on just one device
So it doesn't matter regardless of what you choose, nvme, ssd or mechanical
Oh
XD
now its with water drought 😄
Or not having enough silicon to make all the memory chips
yea the disaster is that they are not hit with enough floods to sustain the water supply they need lmao
Taiwan and their damn weather machines
On Saturday, I managed to dump the firmware of the newly released Apple AirTags - and in this video I'll show how I did it.
I won't share firmware dumps or so, so please don't ask :)

I thought that was Thailand
I could be wrong but I don't think Taiwan is a HDD manufacturing hub, is it?
a shit ton of the worlds nand flash is made in taiwan
Huh, TIL
Anyone seen the Razer Analog V2?
270€ for optical 1,5-3,6 analog seitches
basically a wooting 2

They got cash
Oh shit right
if they made it a TKL, it would have been cheaper for them to make
they could have charged just as much
and sales would have been better
but that board was probably several months in the making, couldn't have foresaw anything beyond "full size sells best"
*their helicopter parents have cash
and want their kid preoccupied so they can work in peace
They won't work in peace with clicky Razer switches
nope
analog are linear only
so the only thing they'll hear is about how their kid is "cracked at fortnite" and "got a number one victory royale"
whatever the f*** those phrases mean
Yeah fortnite we bout to get down
I mean you could do analog clicky and use software to calibrate the click feel and the actuation to always be at the same spot
When wooting releases swap in clicky switches for the lekker I'm gonna grab some
The what now?
Ah
Welp, I'm not a fan of the new Discord blue. And the font is just terrible, even Comic Sans looks more serious
Dunno why the colour change
The old was close to one of my favorite shades of blue
The new one is just too harsh, though
Their official commentary is something along those lines:
"We hear your complaints, but we're prepared to ignore them until you stop whining"
Makes me believe they actually wanted to test the waters
Might also be that they just suck at organisation
Had to create custom bracket
The surface looks better from the other side and also it is not visible at all
Water cooling seems awful to get installed
Bending tubes
Planning lengths to use
Where is the most effective path
depends on the cooling
except 95% of the cases are the same so you just look what people already use and do the same
not like the cpu socket is different on motherboards etc.
Just use soft tubing
Doesn't look as hot as acrylic, but it's about as simple as cable management
Oh
Oh, and if you're Mansen you can just cut the tubes to drain your loop
It works
It's simple
No need to install a drain
But why not just use quick connects? I dunno
I have drain hidden on bottom in front of front rad, only visible with front panel taken out. But bending the PETG tubes looks like it will be really hard tbh
A lot easier than acrylic from what I hear
What are you going to use to bend them?
This theme ..... Adds a low res "iOS" on the control center .-. why though
why do you think anyone would be able to answer here when almost nobody would even know what that theme is
just google it/look at the theme website or w/e it comes from
It's from the MiUI theme app
then look at the miui site/changelog or wherever it would be and see if it's mentioned there 😄
Silicone insert inside them, 2000w heatgun for it, and for bending tool the ek one seems to have too big bends so I may 3d print forms for some of the bends, hardest may be the pump to bottom rad one
Looks like you got it all worked out
Not that I did not have to do small changes and still may have to, but was planning this build for really long, first plans even started in 2018 or 19, even though the more complex form and exact parts to use I had in mind like year ago, even though CPU and mobo and GPU were not released yet, was planning to use them. But the tubing still may be really hard to do.
O.o
Did OS/2 really look like this?!
Not as good as Windows 3.1 Hotdog Stand
What
i don't think it was colored
O
MILP :')
Right? I use my phone naked but that’s only because I can repair it myself if I kill the screen or shatter the back panel.
Had I no skill there I wouldn’t use it without a case. Idk why nobody has tried making a slightly more grippy phone. Glass is good, yeah, but omg pls.
There are more grippy phones
Like the ones Cat makes
But most phones are sold on a first impression, or even just an image in a catalogue, and looks matter more than functionality there
git != github
you are not logged in
aight Lana, read what the error says and see what needs to change to fix it 😛

ye tried this
i am logged in
thats whats weird
thought i upped the pic
guess not
i relogeged also
you could reload the ssh key? that sometimes helps
what tool even is that?
well its the github desktop, i was having issues with vscode terminal
so i decied to try this
i think its down to my windows git credentials
oh, no. ssh is for another problem where you're not authenticated for a project
maybe a solution can be found over here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17659206/git-push-results-in-authentication-failed
You'd think the idiot-friendly Github app would just work though
did you change password or 2FA?
no
hmm weird
I mean having 3 or so apps doing the same thing can easly break things
I'd try only having one git realted app active/installed
i use github desktop, and the git inside an IDE, sometimes git bash. nothing ever broke at my side
and now you have an error and that might cause all to break
am so confused
i can confirm the key is valid
thats being used
ok then
i used https instead
w.e
it works now
can use terminal again thank god
These bends gonna be hard
Especially this many bends next to each other
Thinking about 3d printing “mold” for it
So I can exactly bend it how I have to
makes disassembly and maintenance so much easier
Already have fittings and tubing and heatgun, it also looks better and is more fun
In this case indeed
:D
But also managed to get the fittings for a pretty good price so had another reason to go hardline
can I, the watercooling n00b, ask what may as well be the dumbest question ever?
Yes, but also you are talking to someone who even though is planning to go watercooling, has never build a watercooling loop or even finished pc before
is there such a thing as hard and soft tube fittings, is the difference appreciable and does it even matter?
The look is imo better in hardline, also changes less over time
But no performance difference afaik
Maybe if you used strange fittings and metal tubing but even that most likely would not matter
I'd only be using metal tubing if I was pumping refrigerant through them
wait

the idea bulb has lit up
Also glass tubing may look really clear but is too hard to work with, I am going PETG
What idea? 👀
^^
thanks locke
good to know
one more way for me to fuck up a watercooled build
pump refrigerant through PC, instead of water
then I can just pull a linus
hack apart an old AC unit
and use that
linus at least doesn't give chips a TIM bukkake
gotta give him that
The Verge fucked that up...somehow
I mean such a things as cooling refrigeration effect for sun zero, even sub 100 c cooling exist, and were used more few years ago
or want a stupidly stable 400+ watt OC on your gpu
because "frames win games"
yep
maybe this is how I'll run an SFF rig
I'll just have the cooler under the desk
Unless the air is completely dry you will get condensation. Colder air can carry less moisture.
You will not get condensation if you use cold air to cool something
The entire room has to be a similar temp basically.
pro-tip: yay to update. dont need extra flags if you only need to update
Also when you update programs pacman/yay will keep the old version it the cache. Which is useful incase you need to downgrade.
Schmall update
You can leave it be as long as you want
Upgraded a laptop with 6 months old software without intervention, fine. I would see how individual packages can malfunction. But you can downgrade it to the previous version if needed. Could add it to the ignore list to not upgrade specific packages if they misbehave
I'm waiting for them to test and give us some thermal paste after they did their thermal epoxy tests 😄
😂
I do enjoy his content though
Ehh
HE X4 is basically the same thing
But I wouldn’t bother with cheap planars
Sundara is about as cheap as you should go
That seems very reductive. Dont think the copper being recycled from any source is relevant, copper is copper. Recycling metals is from my knowledge much less energy intensive than virgin ore. Motherboards would seem a terrible source of copper in general, not a lot of copper (1oz per square foot at best) and a lot is sandwiched between fibreglass. It would be expected the cousin pays less for the thing, as family/friends get preferential treatment everywhere. You can get them cheaper by being the first customer or haggling
With any good you are not just paying the manufacturing costs + resources cost but also the brand, R&D, logistics and marketing. If you want, you can use a brushed dc motor to play your sound but it wont be good by any standard. With headphones I found the build quality and balance to be most important factor to consider the mid to high end. Cheap ones last a few months and crap out🙂 .
PogChamp
https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2021/05/apple-music-announces-spatial-audio-and-lossless-audio/
spatial audio is already on deezer for my sony headphones. never tried to use it though
They begin to feel they might lose the audio market or need to consolidate it more
But also the loseless audio. Apparently because of audio codec Apple Music had better audio quality than Spotify at best settings even before, and now it should get even better
lossless is the og method
.wav
marginally better audio quality for way more storage!
audio quality has been fine for years already
Cant do shit with more data if the hardware aint driving it
listen, if I can't hear the blood dripping in the audio files, that the musician lost when he signed with the label, it's not good enough!
Meanwhile youtube videos be having 5d audio
even fairly recent youtube vidoes have decent enough audio for most usecases
.. for music
But dolby atmos.. with just 2 speakers and static audio
Spotify announced lossless audio forever ago
No additional cost is a surprise
Yeah but who knows when you can get it. Also the no additional cost is great.
There are some people who actually do apparently but I am not one of them too
Although the discord integration is kinda nice on Spotify too
The point was
But another thing is apple device integration for Apple Music, that reminds me
Apple are re inventing shit again
I love Spotify
I love deezer too
I hated using apple music
Felt like a mess but idk what irs like now
That Siri actually asked me if I want to have Spotify or Apple Music play songs when I just say hey Siri play sth. Expected like settings for it but not Siri asking
There still is one dumb thing imo but apart from that it’s pretty good. Also for me Spotify was lacking some songs I wanted to listen to
Before you had to say Siri to play sth on Spotify and could not change default for just saying Siri to play a song
this is fitting for both apple with ALAC/nvidia with RTX io
Not saying apple made it, just nice to have for no price increase
But nvidia with rtx in general definitely was advertised as if nvidia made a new kinda technology
im still not sure if ampere not seeing that big of an improvement in comparison is because driver issues on nvidia side or because amd has better hardware/driver implementation for it
But also intels marketing on thermal velocity boost. Wow 100 MHz more for just 30 seconds on most coolers, so useful
but that is not intel marketing something else as their own?
activating rebar when it has benefits shows much bigger gains on amd compared to nvidia so far
same engine doesnt really mean much there, could just be from one single thing they do differently
could be enough to matter, could be something else idk
still hoping we either get some gdc/gtc talk about it or it just becomes a feature that we dont have to thinkg about
@shadow minnow your card is in stock again for 1800
https://www.caseking.de/gigabyte-aorus-geforce-rtx-3080-xtreme-waterforce-wb-10g-10240-mb-gddr6x-gcgb-352.html

seriously tho, €1800 for a 3080 is absolutely ridiculous
I'd be bothered paying €1000 for one
I mean tbh 1000€ for one. Also 200€ extra for waterblock is not really too much imo, especially since there are other extra features, I mean, kinda, but also nearly all the new ek blocks cost around 200€ for GPUs
But 1800 is ridiculous
4800 for 4800€ when
jesus christ
if that ends up being a thing, even after the 1920x1080 meme
I don't even want to think about that
not a single one costs 200
apart from the corsair ones
which are kinda stupid anyway, since EK really does have the waterblock game down pat atm
Yea but they aint gaming
Also the Corsair watercooling parts having plastic looking like surface…
Nvidia optimized their drivers to a crazy extent for the old system, which took a very long time, I suspect they are waiting till drivers get full hardware scheduling to put in a ton of work optimizing again
Quantum vector blocks do
I mean, yeah, but imo it looks really bad, that’s just an opinion though. Find Corsair fans PSUs and few other stuff lot better looking tbh
Laughs in heatkiller
Really liked 2080 aorus waterforce wb, but the 30 series not so much tbh
do VR games count? boneworks uses it and iirc a couple others work with it too
I like the part where it was free to get the upgrade
I seem to recall having read it's the driver that makea the difference, but don't quote me on that
The difference in implementation between AMD and Nvidia is quite massive, though
Looks like the "If you can't afford 5$ to support the stream" girl was heard by Twitch simplords
Finally the twitch mods can give their entire salary to hottub streamers again
nope, this is a long way around for twitch to keep a bigger share that ends in creators getting less, but twitch can disguise it as a nice thing
Like Amazon supporting 15 usd/h wages?
spotify unfair competition lawsuit when?
at no extra cost means you pay the same for apple music now and you will once they add the lossless stuff
spotify instead will charge extra
Mixer shutting down was the worst thing that could have happened to that industry
I like how two sentences warrant 2 footnotes like its some academic paper or legal trying to wiggle themselves out of something

20 million songs in lossless audio at launch with the full 75 million songs available by the end of the year.
Not all content is available in Dolby Atmos. Accessing Dolby Atmos features requires Dolby Atmos–capable devices. Playback quality will depend on hardware, audio accessories, and internet connection.
just normal footnotes elaborating on what they said
i'm glad i can now bully spotify defenders with ease
tdlr: we want to end up with this, but start with this and you are wrong if it no worky
I remember I had a 6 months of Spotify key somewhere
Prolly expired but eh
I hate keeping shit running in the background, like spotify
basically airpods pro, airpods max and iphone 7 or later
Unless the peasant has tried to repair the device and did not get the blessing of the god emperor tim apple
Why the Spotify hate
Cos you're an apple sheep?
I don't get the hate, they both essentially do the same xD
Im calling Apple sus. They be scheming with the shareholders. And im sussing apple
Protocol?
from the man page https://linux.die.net/man/8/mtr
mtr combines the functionality of the traceroute and ping programs in a single network diagnostic tool.
A sudden increase in packetloss or response time is often an indication of a bad (or simply overloaded) link.
Seems like the tool should be used by noting how stable the reported loss rates are. Noteworthy that some routers might not play nice
Im also seeing that with the -u flag you can use UDP datagrams instead of ICMP echos
What if you increased delay of the pings. Which would be less likely to be flagged by ddos protection
Cool, ev goes torque
FUCK OFF, I PAUSED YOU
guess not
oh...
It did unpause them
HAH! Take that
i think im on the previous version to whatever is current
Nah, Im good
I would normally update, but Windows updates like to fuck over the bootloader and break dual booting
even on seperate drives .-.
yeh .-. it happened me twice before I said fuck it and paused updates
had to reinstall both OS's :/
Once again looking more like a you problem than Windows problem
Clearly not since its happened to Locke
then just properly set it up so it never updates unless you do it manually
literally all I can do is pause them
Group Policy oh wait home edition pleb kekw
pretty sure even home has options they might just be a bit more complicated
Yeah I think you just have to do it in the registry directly
soo... you didn't disable it after all
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/05/apples-m1-is-a-fast-cpu-but-m1-macs-feel-even-faster-due-to-qos/ wonder if we will ever know if there is some common background behind M1/alder lake
or if they just happen to do big.little around the same time as natural progression
There's rumours about AMD doing big.little as well
Pointless for a desktop user
But notebooks are making the majority of sales these days
I'm not just talking about the last 6 months
Buy GPU overpriced and mine on it to reduce price to effective MSRP.
wonder if the current cards with rapidly increase in aftermarket value after the new light hashrate numbers are out lmao
¯_(ツ)_/¯
buy now for 1500 sell for 2500 in 3 weeks or so
I know I'm selling my GPU for profit if that's the case
and gonna snag one of the lite hash ones for gaym
hell
would if my room didn't become a sauna
I could probably sell my 3070 without the hash rate limiter for a 3080 with the hash rate limiter and an extra few hundred at least
Pour water on the GPU to make a steamhouse.
it will have it in the name, and it will have a different chip name
^
you mean info not monitor right
meh
shrugs I mean monitors.
Just checking the rough info is good and all, but there are a few tools that check everything.
yeah I don't like the general idea of nvidia limiting what you can do with the card
Gets kinda nutty sometimes.
not like I mine on my GPU atm
in this case I think its a necessary evil
considering the current climate, it's not cool, but fair
Nobody likes them doing it, and it's not 'for the good of the gamers'.
What nvidia wants is to destroy mining potential so they can sell cards that don't make the cut as mining SKUs.
It's fucked.

it's to push CMP, which honestly spits in the eyes of gamers and miners alike
i was wondering what yall were on about
less supply for gaming GPUs, and mining cards that aren't worth it at all
remeber hearing about it and i was surprised
they had released it already
guess not :p
BUT DOGE!
im all for crippling mining
Don't you want a card that procudes 30MH/s at 300W?
false, they are not made on the same process, hell not even in the same fab
Bruh.
I'd rather they just silently slid the hash rate limiters in their current skus and just shut up

ampere is 8nm samsung, mining cards are 12nm TSMC
as opposed to people who buy 10-20 cards to mine
Don't forget that the mining cards also do shit all performance at horrible power consumption.
by design, no?
We're maybe talking $4 USD/day with $2 USD/day power use.
It makes more sense to just ditch nvidia completely and jump over to Radeon or ASICs, then.
They dont care/listen
It's actually hilarious.
Lmfao, who said mining was good for the market?
but Aeon is kinda chill otherwise
I don't think most miners are that delusional
It's not awful usually, but now? Now in this perfect storm it sucks ass.
Nuclear reactor makes it run bettter trust me i just made that up
ngl I have no clue what you are on about with that
Really tho, mining in my eyes isn't environmentally good, and it isn't good for the GPU market atm, but it gives me an opportunity to skip 15 to 20 years of life grind so I can be on track when I'm 28.
I'm not missing out on that.
fair enough dude
securing your future
at the expense of some people just not having gaming rigs atm
Hey, I wanna do good things in the future and I can't start shit without money.
One day I'd like to start a business, maybe server hosting or something.
(I would be foaming at the mouth if I didn't have a 3070 rn)
Keep in mind that electric net managers have to deal with the power output turtle
just letting you know
Fuck knows there are no good game hosts that don't gouge you for the RAM.
Most renewables generate when the sun is up, but most humans need the most after dawn
Like, I get it, I do. RAM is expensive. But $6 per gig? The fuck?
Go for the ROI, grow the business, that's understandable. But holy shit DDR3 based hardware you've already had pay back 17 times is not acceptable at that price point.
Flash memeory has always been expensive. Its a bargin compared to just 5 years ago tbh
Sure, but after a few ROI cycles I find it unacceptable to gouge like no tomorrow.
It's disgusting.
I say that having spent thousands of dollars on hardware for my home lab because that was the more sensible option.
Don't get me started on aussie power infrastructure.
I have no end of complaints.
They really need to begin to scale up nuclear power. Its clean, the waste is easy to store and keep sealed
Did you know that coal plants emit 6x more radiation than nuclear reactors
'UraNiuM iS cAnCeR CAuSinG!1!1!11!!!11!!'
Anything is
-the people not realizing that it's mined from the ground
oxygen is the prime cause with its free radicals
But we have good knowledge how to track exposure and minimise the exposure to safe levels.
Do you think anyone cares?
They see nuclear disasters and think all of em are like that.
Forgetting that dams can fail claiming tens of thousands of lives directly
shrugs Nobody ever claimed humans were logical.
Radiation is scary because people can't see it.
You see water, you can even eat it.
Somehow that's less scary.
Fuck knows why, dams have a truly fucking awe inspiring amount of killing potential behind them.
And you have new designs that cannot meltdown under any circumstance.
Again, you think that matters at all?
Gets to hot? melts some cork and fuel gets flushed
no
Oil can only be profitable if the goverment pays for it
Coal is the worst fuel souce
Especially the brown one I believe
You need to emit much more co2 for the same amount of energy than if you went with oil/gas or other
Pretty good, growth. Im mostly in favor of those solar reflactor consentrating to a tower ones
In this video, I give a simple explanation on how Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) works. This is the type of solar power that uses thousands of mirrors over hundreds of acres to reflect sunlight on a tower. This heats up molten salt to over 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The heated molten salt then creates steam from water, driving a steam turbine to ...
Did you know that you could hold the amount of fuel needed to use in a nuclear reactor to give enough power for your life fits in your hand.
Not for very long lol
Maybe with some insanely high energy material.
But uhhh...
No, no it’d be a wee bit too big to hold.
Heavy, too.

there
some random thing that just popped into my mind
you're welcome
shite game, ok music
Reep in mind that the nuclear bombs use less than 1<% of the available fuel to do their work
O.O
not for very long as in you would die from radiation poisoning, youd have no problems holding it up its only like 20ish pounds
Little boy atomic bomb. If you’re going for pure simplicity it’s about as bare bones as one gets.
So long as you can get the enriched stuff it’s child’s play.
Uranium is not too bad due to its very high halflife
Enriching uranium will attract a lot of attention from authorities
Mhmm.
But if one can get enough, which isn’t much, a small boy is really trivial to make.
you don't say, old chap 🧐
It’s literally the uranium, a tube, and high explosives.
Need a special centrifuge and a long time to spin them around
Just blast the uranium with neutrons and it will self feed the reaction further
ending with a meltdown
Or you get a chunk and pull a Demon Core in a civvie population.
"just blast with neutrons"
as if thats a simple thing to do lol
That’s a sure fire way to be an asshole.
again not for long considering the whole mortality situation
I mean, assuming again one can even get the material.
That thing that was held up with a screwdriver?
Mhmm.
Slipped, reached criticality, killed everyone around it thrice.
After the third time it was destroyed.
Only the guard who was near lived a long life but dying of cancer
Mhmm.
Everyone else involved on all occasions of it reaching criticality died very quickly.
Either of radiation sickness or simple internal burns.
The onces inside the room were exposed to fatal exposure immidaitely
Prognosis being maximum 30 days
Holy shit 1000 rads
damn bro
The average radiation dose from an abdominal X-ray is 0.7 milligrays (0.0007 Gy), that from an abdominal CT scan is 8 mGy, that from a pelvic CT scan is 6 mGy, and that from a selective CT scan of the abdomen and the pelvis is 14 mGy.[7]
A whole-body acute exposure to 5 grays or more of high-energy radiation usually leads to death within 14 days. LD1 is 2.5 Gy, LD50 is 5 Gy and LD99 is 8 Gy.[10] The LD50 dose represents 375 joules for a 75 kg adult.
8 is pretty much miracle if you survive
of what tho
Acute radiation poisoning directly
Advanced
probably
Grays take that into account
How tf did he survive so long after taking 1000 rad?
That is nothing short of a miracle.
Only to a point. Enough radiation exposure and you're still either getting dead flesh or cancer.
cancer kills rather slowly
Unless you're dealing with alpha I'd have a guess the DNA damage is just all over the place, not exactly easy to fix.
Still lifetime of days instead of minutes
Which is often the fate to those exposed to high exposure but not enough to outright kill
Honestly, I think I'd rather the instadeath over cancer for 18 years.
If you're getting hit with enough radiation to cause serious problems in just about every stretch of life, but not enough to outright die?
We all agree that the safety regulations was wack
Idk, sounds like a worse fate than death.
And yeah nah, the regs were completely fucked.
Bruh, holding criticality off with a fucking flathead screwdriver?
Whut?
atleast put them 1 meter apart
Don't even, just have that shit secured against the terrible force of gravity.
If they touch someone cause that to be not oopsy i bumped into it
Pro tip get a atomic physics degree if you want to work with them. They fuck up you entire health if you dont
more like
Those questions seem a little loaded and biased
Can someone help me make my desk comfortable :(
don't sleep for three days and anything will be comfortable
Make sure your desk is elbow height
And also that your feet are flat on the ground when sitting
i dream of having an adjustable desk one day
do people usually press their feet on the ground while sitting?
do you?
Elbow height as in where your elbows fall down to naturally when you sit
Hmmm maybe your arm rests are a little high
For me my arm rests are just a little lower than my desk since I like sitting a bit closer to my desk
Considering moving my monitors
Fuck it
I ain't slept
I'm redoing my shit
Fed up
Can't wait to sort my walls out again
They got plastered and paint ruined
While you are at it, a few millies in the bank
just git tall
who tf made the windows task scheduler so bad
me
what scheduler are we talking about
this pos
the naming they decided to go with is horribly annoying
first thing i think of when somebody says scheduler is the thread scheduler
kernel code that decides what should get executed and when
RUHLGMBH
cron rise up
old domain company does not exist anymore
I would have used cron
but colleague wanted this to be a windows machine
since expanding storage is easier
he never used task scheduler

I am close to making another VM running linux to use cron for this
Is windows even stable enough to bother with that?
does not have to be that stable tbh
only runs once a day
and if the VM crashes, which never happened to us, then it only is for a rarely used QA device
Why not make it an autostart task and shutdown when done
this VM should not be touched by a user
acts as a NAS
and transfers the little data it has by the end of the day
Clients are weirds
since otherwise the QA device takes ages to transfer the data
since it writes live
and is in another location
also
just found out that the problem was me assuming it could use a network drive
but it couldn't
since even a permanently attached network drive is bound to the session
Unix chad just makes everything into a file
So you get the fantastic job of telling the computer how to look for the drive
yea just swap the network drive out with a network location
Sounds like a work around
Already give up xD
Depressed I am
TIL I could sync my photos to my NAS
yep, and even set it up as a cloud server
Today, I shall show you all of the Easter Eggs found on the platform Discord, as of 2021.

Does anyone use Coinbase and is from EU?
had some issues when I tried it years ago so I dropped it
so probably cant help much
ya still got the account?
uhh maybe
Wanna check by logging in, whether it's possible to withdraw FIAT via Credit Card/SEPA without providing ID? 😛 Should say somewhere in the account what are your withdrawal limits... -:-
if I find my login data sure
Thx
after work hours

Questionable behaviour of these crypto exchanges imo, they're dealing with anonymous currency but not adhering to GPDR and right to be forgotten. My questions to Binance go unanswered and the website says they store the ID.
think it's a conflict of GDPR and financial laws they need to follow
Yeah probably
If they have no legitimate reason to store that it is in violation. Pretty much only if required by law
pretty likely financial laws requrie you to store that
Once you have validated the legitimacy of the client you dont need it. Since you can vouch for the legitimacy of the client, you had the duty to check
If they work like banks - they need to have ID verification.. but if they are not considered banks they shouldn't need to I think. Don't know how are the laws for exchanges.
For example in some EU based games/companies, the support reps told me delete all ID I posted for my issue to them and they manually deleted the ID (driver's license) I gave them, after they had verified me.
pretty sure binance is a bank or close to something like it, with how much they offer with their own coins etc.
since they have BUSD as their own USD-bound coin
Do they adhere to Malta laws? I think Malta is part of Europe
idk from top of my head
Malta is part of the EU
idk why I think its based on Malta, says Cayman Islands lol
- On what legal ground(s) and on which legal basis do we process your personal data?
We process your personal data, because the processing is necessary for compliance with a legal
obligation to which the controller is subject (Art. 5.1(b)).
Regulation (EU, Euratom) 2018/1046 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 July
2018 on the financial rules applicable to the general budget of the Union a.k.a. Financial
Regulation (FR). In particular, Article 86 stipulates powers and duties of the Accounting Officer
with respect to the creation and management of legal entity files and for the keeping of
supporting documents. These files and documents contain the needed personal data for a
sound and legal management of payments and recovery of sums.
The processing of your personal data is also necessary for the performance of a contract to
which you are party or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract
(Art 5.1(c)).
In case of absence of this processing, no contracts with or financing decisions in favour of the
data subject could be concluded and no monitoring of the correct execution of these
contracts/decisions would be possible.
For me it would seem most reasonable to report the needed information to the EU and remove them company side since you would not need them anymore
Since the EU is tasked to validate their legal existance and check for possible misuse
Mh
This the form be
k this is pissing me off, looks like its not possible atm. Etoro is even worse than Binance. Guess I gotta fork over my ugly mug.
What’s that for?
