so this is interesting... i seem to have resolved my font issue temporarily (by installing liberation-fonts), but I would prefer to fix it correctly. It's specific to firefox only, no issues with gtk+2 apps or urxvt/rxvt-unicode.

There's something odd about it too. It's characters from 0-9, the # and *, and bolded/italic fonts. Installing the other font makes everything work fine (even if i'm not using it!).

It might be helping if your arms are somewhat sweaty and might stick to the surface. But the friction is way below what the muscles are able to overcome even for the only the fast acting muscles. Is it even effective to lower it, because it could be so light you can overshoot more. But that could be me thinking like its a pid controller in the brain.

I completely agree with that train of thought actually. I prefer to have my skin touch the mousepad when I game. I didn’t like wearing long sleeve shirt when I game. But the shirt fabric was designed to be worn, not to reduce friction. I also wondered if we can actually reduce friction of our skin more than it already is. But it’s definitely good if it does
