Is the wrist rest removable?

#

NVM it's in her photos

pale sigil
#

One day she'll be mine

wheat plume
#

The monitor is only sold in the Philippines

pale sigil
#

I only cared ahout the keyboard lol

#

Also why tf did she get Intel

wheat plume
#

IDK

#

I need sleep ;_;

#

Got to get up at 8 again

pale sigil

Sleep

pale sigil
#

?

#

Oh

#

Same

#

So overrated

zenith sonnet
#

What's a better alternative to the O11D XL for custom water?

#

Did they make those ridiculously expensive 'handmade'cases?

#

Can't right now, at work

#

Why would I go for that?

#

Gimme something EU made ^^

#

Blame the laws

#

Hiring someone in Germany is a lifelong obligation for the company

misty saffron
#

i get to destroy shit for free???

#

hahahaha

misty pier
#

yeah that's how it goes

#

break it to the point where resale is almost impossible

#

unless you know what you're doing

misty saffron
#

“please cut the tubes of the cooler on both pump and radiator”

#

definitely doesn’t sound that bad

reef tundra
#

Replacing the tubing is not too hard indeed.. would be repairable if the pump and radiator are still functional

misty saffron
#

can’t wait to have to explain to my girlfriend why i need her to film me destroying an expensive piece of computer hardware

shadow minnow
#

Yeah, Siri is not the best. But it is currently enough, especially after some updates. But apart from it being smart speaker, it is also really good as normal speaker for songs.

shadow minnow
#

Well, it is a good speaker for movies or songs. Most likely best sounding smart speaker for it’s price, the issue is it does not have Bluetooth. It does, but only for setup. Otherwise only airplay

misty saffron
#

homepod is an amazing speaker

#

those who talk trash haven’t ever heard it

pale sigil

pale sigil

I'd rather just get the sonos one though with alexa

In this video, we put together one of the coolest Mini ITX build I’ve ever had the pleasure of building!
The case we are using is known as the MY64 from My Retro computer.
As you can see it's molded after the commodore C64 but this puppy is gonna be running Windows 10 and is cable of playing some low-end PC games and its does and amazing job wit...

▶ Play video
#

Really, really want this.

#

Kind of burned out on my Retro Mac for now, since I need a fabricator to help me out.

misty saffron
misty pier
misty saffron
#

gotta yoink the fans before throwing out the radiator

#

didn’t cut too close on the pump so might even sell that lol

halcyon moss
#

why do ppl do water cooling? isnt air cooling usually almost as effective and waaaay cheaper?

#

(and more reliable)

reef patrol
#

Yes, no, yes.

hard thicket
#

you can make a custom loop reliable

#

if you know what you are doing

#

which the majority doesn't

urban lynx
#

idk.
i guess it comes from when motorcycles used to be air cooled,
but eventually they got too hot, and had to do water cooling...
except harley. harley sticks to air cooling because "it's american, it's harley!"

hard thicket
#

watercooling starts to shine once you add multiple components in your rig, especially very powerhungry ones

#

except you dont care about noise levels

halcyon moss
ashen spindle
#

Noise, depending on workload it can be better (takes longer to reach saturation), form factor/case might limit aircooler option etc.

reef tundra
#

In the end its all about heat generation and able to keep it controlled.

urban lynx
reef tundra
#

Air is a poor thermal conductor but if the watts are low enough moving air is enough

urban lynx
#

regarding noise: i got ANC headphones anyway. so i dont even notice when my rx580 goes jet mode just because i started minecraft

hard thicket
#

rip

#

im passive cooling mine to eliminate all possible noise

ashen spindle
#

after all intel called it comet lake because you need a lake to cool it PepeLaugh

reef tundra
#

Also keep in mind that silicone aint your bodytemperature and it has thermal runaway protection buildin

misty saffron
#

i’m not sure how i’m gonna cool a 3950x on air without wanting to kill myself

reef tundra
#

Atleast you wont have to worry about fans shitting the fan and causing it to overheat

hard thicket
#

im passive cooling by watercooling

misty pier
#

i don’t care about passively cooling it and noise levels since I hear jack shit

#

all I hear is my music

hard thicket
#

ultra low noise pump(s), enough radiator space

#

and good to go

#

the 3090 and 3900x stay both below 80c

#

with a little bit of voltage fine adjusting

#

i have two 3090

#

and am on discord

#

why shouldn't i be ?

#

question mark

halcyon moss
#

you're using those 3090s to the max :p

misty saffron
#

oh my god i am such a moron

hard thicket
#

i dont get it kinda

pale sigil
#

you said it not me

misty saffron
#

i have no idea where i’d put the default am4 heatsink mount

pale sigil
#

also @misty saffron did you get your cooler sorted

misty saffron
#

fuck me

#

i did just fuck it up, yes

hard thicket
#

what.. ?

halcyon moss
#

two grand? hah

hard thicket
#

why should i be waitwhat

halcyon moss
#

pot kettle

ashen spindle
#

is reading the personality of someone from a gpu they have the new astrology? gloryT

misty pier
#

maybe

#

some guy I know with a 3090 is the most stuck up asshole I’ve come across yet

halcyon moss
#

yes @solar hinge

hard thicket
#

im so confused how this is a thing

misty pier
#

like he feels good that he has the top end shit

misty saffron
#

uhm so i’ve found the original heatsink mount and the screws

#

but uhm

ashen spindle
misty saffron
#

what is supposed to be on the bottom side

#

nuts?

hard thicket
#

quin did erik delete the role ?? lmao

ashen spindle
#

ye

misty saffron

oh

misty saffron

oh i’m an idiot

halcyon moss
misty saffron

i thought that’s an nzxt

#

i don’t remember what i replaced when i installed the aio

ashen spindle

don't screw into your cpu MonkaS

halcyon moss

be nice

hard thicket
#

remember the long screws go all the way through the radiator

#

close M3

halcyon moss
#

.... be nice ffs

misty saffron
#

see i’m good at this computer thing

ashen spindle
#

enough thermal paste between socket and cpu I hope?

misty saffron
#

of course

ashen spindle
#

nice

misty saffron
#

half a tube should be enough

crisp granite
#

and uh, this is just me

#

but I like to draw a star with thermal paste

#

on the IHS

misty saffron
#

intake is what side of the fan

ashen spindle
#

usually there are arrows on it

misty saffron
#

wtf i didn’t know that one

#

yes

solar hinge
#

it's defined by the difference in value between your gpu and my gpu 😄

halcyon moss
#

so massive dick

crisp granite
#

not bad cards tbh

#

mkay

halcyon moss
#

replaced my 970 with a 5700xt

solar hinge
#

currently in my possession:
GTX 770
R9 280x
GTX 1080TI
later today (not 100% sure yet) RTX 3090

crisp granite
#

dang

#

getting a 3090?

misty saffron
#

i haven’t cleaned my pc in such a while

#

the front panel connectors got stuck

solar hinge
#

these were all bought used 😄

wheat plume
misty saffron
#

so i just put them back on in one piece

solar hinge
#

for the 770 i paid 130 euros
280x i paid 15 euros
1080ti i paid 450 euros 😄

crisp granite
#

ah

#

so the 1080ti was used

solar hinge
#

bought it from Tony in this discord eumfilHeart eumfilHeart eumfilHeart

solar hinge
misty saffron
#

wanna buy my nzxt aio for 10?

#

fully working i swear!

halcyon moss
#

Locke, he will have a 3090 soon. dont you need to be mean to him now?

crisp granite
misty saffron
#

yes

crisp granite
#

that's a no mate

btw

misty saffron

has no pipes though

crisp granite
#

anyone wanna buy my old corsair aio?

#

she's in great shape

ashen spindle
#

sure I'll take it for free

crisp granite
#

plus shipping

ashen spindle
#

gl regulating that though kek

#

or rather, gl actually enforcing it

solar hinge
#

isn't just mining banned?

#

China first banned foreign crypto
and then they banned mining foreign crypto

#

but these guys were just abusing free electricity

solar hinge
#

this as just a question, would wind power work well in Hawaii? or is it too much of "wind, no wind, wind, no wind"

#

i think it's difficult, because you can't just go solar, because you'd need to invest heavily in batteries as well

#

or you need to do a gas powerplant, because those can actually be turned on and off (relatively) easy

#

mine is cheap, because my parents bought it 😄

#

personal geothermal plant?

#

ahhh

#

yeah, i know it

#

my dad wants one

misty pier
#

over here power is pretty cheap

halcyon moss
#

here is where?

misty pier
#

southeast US

solar hinge
#

my parents currently have solar panels for electricity and solar panels for hot water 😄

misty pier
#

we got LNG power plants, nuclear, and I think one hydro dam?

crisp granite
#

heh

solar hinge
misty pier
#

that's why you don't get sick or die

solar hinge
#

😄

fair gull
misty pier
#

whenever i get my education shit sorted out i'm hightailing it out of here

solar hinge
fair gull

lol

#

quinn the gpu collector

misty saffron
#

so i’ve just realized it’s the fucking chipset fan being the loud bitch

#

not the gpu

#

nice

fair gull
#

wait chipset fan?

#

those still exist?

misty saffron
#

x570

#

sadly they do

reef patrol
#

Almost all of the X570 chipset boards have at least one southbridge fan. Some Intel high end boards have one or more as well.

#

The Velocita Z490 I just reviewed has 3! small fans on the VRMs.

solar hinge
misty saffron
#

which free software will allow me to monitor cpu temps?

#

i don’t trust this shitty air cooler

ashen spindle
#

hwinfo

solar hinge
#

speccy, hwinfu, cpuz

reef patrol
misty pier
misty saffron
#

speccy doesn’t show them for some reason

#

hates either my x570 or 3950x

solar hinge
ashen spindle
#

hwinfo64 is usually the most accurate tool

reef patrol
#

Speccy is rarely updated. Always better to use a different app if you know how to download and install anything 😄

#

Speccy is for selling shit on facebook if you're a PC newb who knows nothing.

crisp granite
solar hinge
#

speccy looks the best though, of all of them 😄

fair gull

everything is east if u go far enough to the east

good thing my headphones are open back!

sell em as movie sfx

crisp granite

I got family there, but I'm not sure that's the place for me

misty saffron
#

ok fuck this

#

does nzxt mail rma replacements in retail boxes

#

because i think i'll just rage buy another aio and sell the new one they'll mail

solar hinge
#

go to poland if you want an even nuttier far right country 🙂

crisp granite
#

we're comfortably straddling the middle

solar hinge
#

yeah, but he said if canada is too liberal, check eastern europe

#

that is why i said poland

crisp granite
#

if I wanted to go somewhere right wing, I'd go to the rural US

solar hinge
#

there they also like to put pressure on minorities, foreigners, etc. just like what the trumpians and "right republicans" want 🙂

crisp granite
#

ey, we did that ourselves

#

gg

misty pier

it's excellent

misty saffron

okay fuck this, i'm getting horrible idle temps

what's a good aio?

3950x

this the thing?

@crisp granite Not really but eh

#

Do the water loops need maintenance?

#

Yeah

#

Like refilling water or something

crisp granite
solar hinge
misty saffron

not in stock anywhere in my city

#

:(

solar hinge
#

most AIOs you cannot refil

crisp granite
ashen spindle
misty saffron
#

yep

crisp granite
#

dang

misty pier
#

there are some you can buy that are refillable

solar hinge
#

that's why i said "aios are usually used up after 3 years"

hard thicket
#

alphacools LT240

misty pier
#

but those are prone to pump failures or something

hard thicket
#

best value AIO probably

misty saffron
#

what about this one

misty pier
#

i want one myself since i can't be arsed to set up my own custom cooling

crisp granite
#

unless I'm reading that wrong

misty saffron
#

yes

hard thicket
#

yeah that one is really a good set to get into customloops

crisp granite
#

not a good deal imo

cursive summit
#

So is there an AIO solution that will last me a lifetime?

crisp granite
#

that's rent for a month

misty saffron

idc about the price btw

hard thicket
#

yes a Custom AIO

#

lul

crisp granite

Isn't it alright?

misty pier

cooorsair

crisp granite
#

it's a decent AIO

misty pier
#

i think most people run with them anyways

crisp granite
#

not for keyboards

#

but for AIOs or cases, it'd fine

misty pier
#

idk how good that ek aio is though

#

it seems interesting from a glance

crisp granite
#

doubly so if they're those brown/cream fans

hard thicket
#

Once noctua, always noctua

#

once you get used to the noise level it has, you'll fall in love

crisp granite
#

true that

ashen spindle
#

the EK AIO performs quite well

#

not if its not in stock kek

misty pier
#

if only arctic released it around the time i was building my pc

#

oh well

#

this current one i have is fine for what i do atm

misty saffron
ashen spindle
#

ye

misty saffron

i'll get that

#

ty

Ryzen can be tricky with Idle temps

wheat plume
hard thicket
#

People cool down 5950x's with Low profile coolers

#

the hell are you doing wrong ?

misty saffron
#

now i'm running my 3950x on a shitty air cooler

misty saffron
misty saffron
#

mine just goes boost clocks all the time

wheat plume
#

O.o

misty saffron
#

actually it's the same temps while playing csgo

crisp granite
hard thicket
#

or 1.3v

crisp granite
#

that's not safe

hard thicket
#

that should calm the temps

crisp granite
#

I must try that

hard thicket
#

it is safe if you fine tune it

#

he actually did that and documented it

#

impressive results

misty saffron
#

it's circa 1.388v rn

#

i'm guessing too high

hard thicket
#

in stock zen2/3 boosts at the slight load to 1.5v

#

that's where the idle temps come from

misty saffron
#

what is this shit

hard thicket
#

try this @misty saffron

#

this will help you

#

hollow apparently

misty saffron
#

me

#

i don't care about that crap most of the time

crisp granite
#

me with my stock cooler as well

hard thicket
#

it will bring down your temps, wattage without hurting the performance

misty saffron
#

being an idiot isn't an attitude

hard thicket
#

oof

crisp granite
misty saffron
#

not paying twice as much for an inferior 16 core

hard thicket
#

that would be being an idiot

#

or buying a 16c for gaming

misty saffron
#

i bought a 16 core for programming

hard thicket
#

good usecase

crisp granite
#

tbh, it's reasonable to buy a 12 core for gaming now

#

not a good idea

#

but not stupid

latent mural
#

Hello!Nice to me to

hard thicket
#

if you stream

#

it's actually usefull

#

fair point there

#

but plain for casual gaming

#

idk

wheat plume
misty saffron
#

huh

#

could've been worse

hard thicket
#

honestly

#

that is good

#

83c is perfectly fine

misty saffron
#

not when it sounds like a jet engine though

hard thicket
#

fair point

#

but those temps wont go lower even with an AIO

#

the noise level will, but not the temps

misty saffron
#

i care about the noise

hard thicket
#

time to AIO then

misty saffron
#

open back headphones block none of it

ashen spindle
wheat plume
#

huh?

ashen spindle
#

what about that?

#

or did you just randomly post a task manager screenshot xD

wheat plume
#

Wondering why its above 3.6GHz not under load

hard thicket
#

because windows

#

windows does tons of shit in the background

ashen spindle
#

because it's not under total idle?

misty saffron
#

ok idle temps are certainly better at 2.8v

#

54 deg now

ashen spindle
#

load doesn't mean 100% load lol

hard thicket
#

2.8v ????

#

DUDE

#

STOP

ashen spindle
misty saffron
#

1.28

#

fuck me

crisp granite
#

ah

#

very funny

hard thicket
#

jesus

ashen spindle
#

would already be dead at those voltages so had to be a typo

crisp granite
#

imagine running your cpu at 2.8 volts

hard thicket
#

yeah certainly

#

it would crash in an instant

misty saffron
hard thicket
#

maybe he does LN2

ashen spindle
#

nah not crash, the cpu would be dead lmao

crisp granite
misty saffron
crisp granite
#

crispy

misty saffron
#

yeah that's fine for now

ashen spindle
#

hence you can't even put that high into the settings

hard thicket
#

doubt that the mainboard allows that voltage

#

yeah

old marlin
#

If you run it high enough clocks 2.8V would actually not damage your cpu

#

I doubt you can raise clocks that much though

hard thicket
#

define high enough clocks

old marlin
#

Like ridiculously high

hard thicket
#

22ghz

old marlin
#

On every clock you get a small voltage drop

crisp granite
#

20 ghz here I come

old marlin
#

You raise voltage so your voltage rises high enough for the next clock

hard thicket
#

kids in 2030 be like

#

what would that looks like in power consumption 2.8v

old marlin
#

Considering how few atoms you actually energize you probably need a few hundred ghz tbh

#

And beefy cooling

crisp granite
#

a few hundred gigahertz

ashen spindle
old marlin
#

Tbh when we can make cpus fast enough we will have better materials than silicon

ashen spindle
#

if the die area gets like 5x increase KEKW

old marlin
#

Which means better efficiency

misty saffron
#

liquid nitrogen cooled 3950x when

old marlin
#

Got my first computer in 2002

#

Dunno what specs though

hard thicket
#

cpu out of graphene

crisp granite
#

we can be the crotchy old farts saying, "back in my day, 5 ghz was impressive, now everyone has their fancy 250 ghz chips and crazy coolers"

hard thicket
#

the magical substance that never gets real

old marlin
#

Lol

#

Back in my days 5ghz was the mark of someone that fell for the 9590 trap dafoe

crisp granite
#

oooof

hard thicket
#

lmaooo

#

good old 8 CORES

old marlin
#

And when it started mattering again it was the mark of someone that fell for the 14nm++++++++ trap

crisp granite
old marlin
#

Yea idk

#

That is why i just put some

#

I think it is 4 now?

#

Or 5?

#

Unsure

#

Newest gen is not slylake for once though

crisp granite
#

ew

old marlin
#

Is 14nm 10nm

crisp granite
#

hm

old marlin
#

As in

crisp granite
#

marketing material says one thing, but my brain says another

old marlin
#

They took a 10nm design

#

And got it made in 14nm

ashen spindle
#

yes, rocket lake is a backport

old marlin
#

I hope they squeeze out more than that leaked qs sample

#

Cause if not it will be less than redundant

ashen spindle
#

doubtful

crisp granite
#

really shit product won't sell that well

#

unless they price it for the performance it offers

ashen spindle
#

original sunny cove was designed as for after skylake, so backporting it and still having it match the multiple iterations is actually solid work

crisp granite
#

fine

#

hey

ashen spindle
#

and yes, amd's server share increase is dropping, bc they just can't make enough cpus

#

that's the only advantage intel has atm

#

but it's a big one

crisp granite
#

so, OEM systems will sell new intel chips

old marlin
#

Too bad development is capped by fab atm

crisp granite
#

but the average custom PC builder does some research first

old marlin
#

Gpus as well afaik

ashen spindle
#

yeah, which is why it's good nvidia went to samsung, so we get money pumped into more than one fab to develop more stuff

crisp granite
#

wait

#

they are

#

rip

old marlin
#

Can't wait till china has to bonk fabs again so they increase production capacities once again

hard thicket
#

yeah can't imagine the disaster if nvidia went with TSMC

#

we'd probably have half the gpu's now

ashen spindle
#

would have even less of everyhting now yeah

crisp granite
#

yikes

old marlin
#

Basically the only big one in pcs that isn't at tsmc?

#

Besides intels own fab

ashen spindle
#

yup

crisp granite
hard thicket
#

TSMC even posted the schedule for the next 2 years

crisp granite
#

woah

old marlin
#

Oof

hard thicket
#

all the chips they are doing

old marlin
#

Well yea

crisp granite
#

booked entirely?

hard thicket
#

yes

#

or 4 years not sure

old marlin
#

Companies probably just scheduled whatever they could

hard thicket
#

apple took also a big chunk of it

ashen spindle
#

don't blindly trust digitimes, they are quite biased when it comes to tsmc vs samsung for example

hard thicket
#

for their new arch

ashen spindle
#

ye he does good research

crisp granite
#

#

yum

crisp granite

Xe and RDNA 3

plus, hopper

Finally

crisp granite

AM5

hard thicket

yay

thank god I cheaped out on my mobo

hard thicket
#

with AM5 we also will get DDR5

#

most likely

crisp granite
hard thicket
#

dont think that there is any info about pricing yet

#

atleast didn't hear much about it

#

not sure if we will get DDR5 at all

we won't unless supply of DDR5 becomes available

hard thicket
#

and if there are enough platforms for it

#

it's a render rig for Octane

#

once i get in my server room again

#

don't have an interface here

#

what

#

hell no

crisp granite
#

if I had 2 rtx 3090s, I'd totally be using it for fallout new vegas

hard thicket
#

if things continue to go well with the business a third and fourth will also be added

#

boosted the workload by almost 70%

ashen spindle
#

quadro not the way to go for octane? or whatever their new line is called now that they retired the quadro name

hard thicket
#

it's mostly under contract

hard thicket
#

octane scales like linearly with every gpu you add

ashen spindle
#

no I meant, does it not need pro drivers? lucky then i guess

hard thicket
#

it does

#

I mean the studio driver

crisp granite
#

ok

ashen spindle
#

ah

hard thicket
#

little bit of confusion goin

ashen spindle
#

I thought maybe it needs quadro/tesla drivers not just regular studio ones

crisp granite
ashen spindle
#

ye, their naming isn't helping with it

hard thicket
#

i tried gaming with it, it's basically identical to the "gaming" driver for some reason

crisp granite
#

noice

hard thicket
#

expected a drop in FPS

#

but nope

pale sigil
hard thicket

what game is that 👀

pale sigil
#

Starbase

that's fast

oblique sequoia
#

I can’t read those stats

#

I don’t do benchmarks

hard thicket
#

fully saturating the 10gbit local network

#

might have to upgrade soon

oblique sequoia
#

I’m actually thinking of switching to studio drivers should I

hard thicket
#

on octane i can't enable RTX without the studio drivers

#

so it kinda depends on your usecase

oblique sequoia
#

Games and editing software and ps

hard thicket
#

as said in games it didn't impact my FPS

#

atleast when i tried Cyberpunk

oblique sequoia
#

Does it make it spike

hard thicket
#

i can't tell if it's the same in every game

ashen spindle
#

look up if your editing software benefits from it, if so try it

#

if not, no point

hard thicket
#

This ^

oblique sequoia
#

The newest game driver breaks my editing software

#

I’m not on it

#

But making we want to switch to studio

#

Me

hard thicket
#

time to switch then

#

or roll back, worst case

pale sigil
#

You know

#

I dread family finding out how much I spent on my build

pale sigil

thats literally the only one in stock

only high end card at this store

crisp granite

dang

#

we can't get cards here other than RTX 3090s

#

and even then

#

only the premium models

hard thicket
#

i don't mind that eyesr

crisp granite
#

well

#

I do

#

not having $2.5 CAD to spare on a GPU

#

only had $900 for my GPU budget

hard thicket
#

2500 ?

#

damn

crisp granite
#

yeah

hard thicket
#

i got my first unit for 1550

crisp granite
#

some are $2k here

#

but those are out of stock

hard thicket
#

rip

crisp granite
#

but

hard thicket
#

not here in europe apparently

crisp granite
#

assus EK is $2.5k and always in stock

#

yay

#

as with all waterblock cards though

hard thicket
#

nvm they all increased in price again

#

yep

crisp granite
#

ok

#

stock is getting better

#

but $2k is more than twice my GPU budget

hard thicket
#

stock is great, but damn all the prices are messed up

true quest
#

where to find this info?

hard thicket

if you are in Europe

crisp granite

$120 for a fucking SLI bridge

hard thicket

decent site for looking up prices across everything

the graph part of the website?

yep

#

on the right side

you can check the graph out since release

i see now

true quest

which one ?

true quest
crisp granite
#

ah

#

blower cards

hard thicket
#

ahh the turbo

#

i wanted it

#

the price never came down.

crisp granite
#

tbh, blower cards ain't that bad

hard thicket
#

it is great

#

but damn asus has like so little stock of them

crisp granite
#

asus has no gigabyte cards

#

who would have thought

true quest
#

i find this one much sleeker than gigabyte's other cards

hard thicket
#

uh i meant gigabyte

true quest
#

lmao

crisp granite
#

I really like the MSI aero RTX 3090

#

like a throwback to the GTX 480

hard thicket
#

wait i wasn't wrong

#

Asus brought the first blower card out

#

the 3090 turbo

#

that's what i meant

true quest
#

buy high, sell higher

hard thicket
#

didn't realise till now that gigabyte also has one

crisp granite
#

2 cards, 2 brands, one name

#

interesting

hard thicket
#

guess what the pricing is equally fucked up on both of them

crisp granite
#

that asus turbo card actually looks pretty sleek

hard thicket
#

function wise the gigabyte is better

#

for multi gpu setups

#

the blower part is like recessed so if you stack the gpu's the cards don't choke

crisp granite
#

smart

#

but for my uses, I really don't need more than one card

hard thicket
#

fair enough

crisp granite
#

gaym

hard thicket
#

gayming ?

crisp granite
#

and basic computing work

#

like running microsoft word and sheets

hard thicket
#

oof

#

yeah the 24gb vram are like a waste there

crisp granite
#

I know

#

8 gb is more than enough

ivory geyser
#

Not true, some of the newest games want up to 12gigs for UHD textures

#

If you are running the game on Ultra

#

And on 4K

crisp granite
#

1080p

#

maxed

hard thicket
#

that's not entirely true

#

Allocated vram =/= Vram usage

#

you will need 24gb once you enter the 8K territory

#

otherwise 8-10 is more than enough

#

and lets be honest non of you will ever play at 8K

crisp granite
#

in 20-30 years

hard thicket
#

not aslong the TV's costs still 60K

cursive summit
#

"non of you will ever play at 8K"

#

Damn I wonder if that's what people were saying 5 years ago about 4K gaming

#

🤔

hard thicket
#

you know when 4K got introduced

hard thicket
#

when we had the R9 Nano.

ivory geyser
#

The issue with 8K is that it scales exponentially form 4K.

hard thicket
#

or the first Titan card

ivory geyser
#

It is A LOT OF MORE pixels

cursive summit
#

"Theaters began projecting movies at 4K resolution in 2011. Sony was offering 4K projectors as early as 2004.The first 4K home theater projector was released by Sony in 2012"

crisp granite
#

jk

ivory geyser
#

Tbh, real issue here is mostly in the fact that we are already slowly hitting limits of physics with chip design using the current tech.

crisp granite
#

4k will be the extreme budget option soon

hard thicket
#

4K got affordable like 3-4 years ago

#

it was a thing for a longer time

crisp granite
cursive summit
#

@crisp granite I'll be getting my LG CX this year 😄

crisp granite
#

by my metric, nope

cursive summit
#

Maybe in the next few months if I get luck on my side

#

I am incredibly impressed by the LG CX

hard thicket
#

i mean not like 20K++$

#

as the 8K tv's are now

crisp granite
#

pretty shit benchmark

cursive summit
#

8K TVs cost like, 3k$

hard thicket
#

what

crisp granite
#

almost laughed

hard thicket
#

yeah this ^

cursive summit
#

Actually

#

A nice one

you get a Nice 4K Tv at 65" already for 2-3K

the hell is that

LG NanoCells?

crisp granite
cursive summit

8K for 2.6k

#

@crisp granite I mean yeah

crisp granite
#

well then

#

that sounds great

cursive summit
#

Hmm

hard thicket
#

okay my bad i was kinda hung up with the 8K 80" stuff

#

which costs like a car or house

cursive summit
#

It's alright I love you anyways 😄

#

Yeah 8K isn't THAT expensive

#

But still gl running that

hard thicket
#

depend on your needs lol

cursive summit
#

Look when it comes to those weird ass 10k$+ TVs

#

It's rich people's bait

hard thicket
#

pretty much

#

no way in hell that's the manufacturing cost

cursive summit
#

65" LG CX is like 1.6k on a good day

crisp granite
#

it's meant for linus tbh

cursive summit
#

And that is an incredible display

crisp granite
#

linus gets the crazy shit to show off on camera

#

that's really the point of it

cursive summit
#

HDR, Freesync Premium, colour accuracy, great motion response time

crisp granite
#

a showcase piece

cursive summit

Like a 1.6k LG CX is everything any kind of person needs

Those 10k TVs are just for FeelsGood to spend a shit ton people

@normal urchin yes, this is the oracle of all that is holy and truthsome. what is your question(s), my child?

normal urchin
#

Dose anyone know if this keyboard works on ps4 because it understands there is a keyboard in the ps4 but when I press a key it won't respond

#

No on anywhere has anything on this keyboard and ps4 I thought it would work like a normal keyboard just plug it in and go it's a keyboard

vagrant marsh
#

im not sure at all. supposidly, you would need to program it, link the buttons to console controller spec, and then start using that mode, that might work. though it might not, as its recognized as an xbox controller, not a playstation one.

misty pier
#

i think a regular kb works, not the wooting

#

might be wrong

vagrant marsh
#

the wooting does work as a regular keyboard as well

crisp granite
#

maybe the wooting in digital mode works?

true quest
#

didn't work on mine when i plugged it directly to the ps4

normal urchin
#

I want to use it as just a regular keyboard no special settings

#

That's what I want to use just regular digital mode

crisp granite
#

does any plain old keyboard work?

normal urchin
#

Yes

crisp granite
#

if you plug it in

#

ok

cursive summit
#

You want to mouse and keyboard on Consoles?

crisp granite
#

idk

#

seems pretty unfair

cursive summit
#

You need the adapter

#

I am fairly sure you cannot just plug and play

crisp granite
normal urchin
#

Yes I don't have a pc

crisp granite
normal urchin
#

And it dose I've done it before with other keyboards

cursive summit
#

Where'll your mouse go?

normal urchin
#

The other usb port

crisp granite
#

idk

#

from my experience

#

the mouse and keeb support on console varies by game

#

some work flawlessly, others don't

#

most don't

cursive summit
#

Basically yeah it's game support

#

PC ports prolly have them programmed

crisp granite
#

and the list of games that do is wicked short

cursive summit
#

Most PS5 exclusives most likely do not

#

So yeah you can per theoremum, plug it in and play

#

But all that depends on is support

crisp granite
#

yup

normal urchin
#

Im using it on fortnite why would it not work

cursive summit
#

With the adapter afaik it's compatible with all games

#

See Fortnite is a cross platform game

crisp granite
cursive summit
#

They released it on PC first prolly, then downscaled it to consoles

#

That's why the inputs exist

#

Try that on God of War, I bet it will not work
