2.4ghz has it's benefits.
For example at work two good 2.4ghz access points can cover the whole building well. Were 5ghz cannot. As for speed over wifi getting 50MB/s is more than enough for wireless most of the time.

Of course I could upgrade to a modern 5ghz mesh network, however that would require more access points and would for how it is not really bring a lot of benefits.

At home I also mostly use 2.4ghz because the older router we have is not that good on 5ghz and again for wireless the speed is good enough.

Having more access points at home at least would be somewhat awkward to lay out as you would need to get internet cables to where you have the other access points as well.
