unless its continuous fibers like with the markforged carbon printers
albeit thats completely different
Higher end materials can still benefit
ah yeah ig
I got pps-cf parts and they are tough
Had a buddy put one in a vise and clamp down hard on it. Part only dented.
nice nice
Due note, it was annealed at 200°C for a day though.
they also make a fun clinking sound when you drop them
What is interesting is the CF actually makes the pitch higher too.
I think thats due to how the CF changes the parts' density
I see
I'm not using any of that junk.
Is there a way to apt reinstall everything?
Huh
If you mean klipper related printer items go install kiuah for that
Then you can easily manage it
I mean everything on a Debian box, a bunch of stuff got corrupted.
apt reinstall '~i'
I guess?
Looks to be working, nice.
Great
This may not count but there are some skin based polymer fiber spools. They are sometimes called ultra basically, the bare plastic is skin and inside is filled with glass fiber or carbon fiber.
oh thats super interesting
That stuff is more spooky to be breathing around.
It is fairly stable, just uh try not to sand it is all.
Or ever abrade it.
oooo
Hella brittle by the way
ah, makes sense tho
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Lian Li LANCOOL 217 ATX Mid Tower
need opinions
Bought everything but GPU and CASE
woah
si
that list is woah
Good way or bad way
woah
new parts? kinda bad then
nice ragebait
why
new ddr4 platform in 2026 kinda sucks and if its new these parts are bad value at the prices you can find them at
it’s not new ihad bought the 5800x3d in a bundle with ram and mobo for like 220$
Steal
whats the speed of the ram
and how many gb
800 for rest 1300
32gb ddr4 3200mhz
Iwas gonna go asus but customer support is shitty so
xfx are nice cards
Also the quicksilver has better thermals and I’m trying to build a quiet PC so the quicksilver was a gem
Fractal Design meshify are good cases
too expensive and don’t come with as many fans but I agree
217 was way better in tests I saw
just choose a case you will like and what accessories it comes with, etc. Obviously make sure the other parts fit into the case
Ty bro
Very helpful
Unlike some people

I have no idea how to fix this, an older kernel works fine in recovery mode and the FSes passed disk check.
(I accidently sent that as two messages....)
My microcenter has the hyte persona 3 reload case and ngl i kinda like the look
Recovery mode isn't needed.
How can I get a list of supported CPUs for Debian kernels?
I'm wondering if they require a newer CPU than this machine has...
There is such a thing as asking better questions. Leading with a budget and use case never hurts.

I just pick the cheapest normal sized case with good airflow.
Including my build with a 5090.
So cool
?
Oh its that guy
Haha yeah, your response is memorized. I will use it someday
Yeah idk i woke up and saw a ping that had no context
When is wooting releasing this as a keyboard
you literally just need that absurd W keycap and a few stabilizers and you could turn any keyboard into that
Don't even need stabs, switches will hold it up in place
true as well, but not every keyboard would allow you to unbind keys at your leisure^^
Why would you buy any other keyboard?
Keyboard seems lacking, no need for those other keys, just make w bigger
w
woah
How does the resin allow moisture to pass through?
The carbon fibers themselves tend to absorb moisture
Thats why resin is used in anything CF, GF etc. Its what gives you structure in the first place, and the fibers absorb it and can not absorb moisture thereafter
Idk how to feel about those new futebol boots that nike made for the world cup. Technology is questionable with the random cushion in it

Oh, well we were talking about carbon fibers in the context of 3D printing composites rather than resin composites.
Is resin not used there?
You need some sealant or else anything you hand handle will put thousands of tiny carbon pieces into your skin
Very rarely in 3D printing at least
The fat Samsung fold looks cool
Carbon fiber raw material not carbon fiber reinforced polymer
yeah lots of micropores
for water to absorb into
Sadly
Just clear coat the final product
Could sure
What?
just in
week old news
Man the Pope is nuts.
and how is it printed then? Whats the adhesive?
The plastic polymers sticking to itself because it is melted when it is extruded
Not necessarily the fibers
It's basically grinded up carbon fibers in the material
Not a continuous fiber (although there are expectations to this in FDM printers like the markforged mark 2)
so its plastic and carbon fiber?
invest in somethjing based on current news. wait 1 week, ????, profit
It's like plastic with chopped up carbon fibers mixed in yeah
replace ???? with anoucing that news as just in a week later
Modern pope bruv
You not seen his sick Nikes and everything?
hi what if disconnect my keyboard while actualisation and now it isnt glowing
Please use standard British English and try again.
Bit rude

look, you need some reason to shut down US-East 1
i mean the most recent way to shut down an AWS region was with missile strikes i believe
Somehow I doubt US-East-1 has much in the way of air defenses

Yeah. Might not have been you. But I've said this often, less power a System uses the better in hot summers
tbh it prob did not even help much but lol my office is 31c atm
so even 1c helps

New Gamer's Nexus 🥵
Yeah I have seen
I will need several day to watch it
I have a "one youtube video during lunch" policy, this'll do just nicely
Guys how funny would it be if I prank my Ryzen 7 5800x3D by installing an RTX 5080 into my pc, it’s gonna be super pissed 🤣
man the electric ferrari is ugly
Im looking this up
I mean it looks like a car alright
dont
does it look like a 600k car
The 2027 Fully-Electric Ferrari Luce Design Reveal. Driving Review coming soon!
Shot on DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and DJI Wireless Mic
Change the front and back and it’d look alright
I'm more interested in mortal cars
dawg
Skoda Kylaq can be had for 8500€ in india, yet European equivalents are 30k+. Apparently they may be bringing it to Europe for 15k or so
why does it look like a sneaker
watched a bit, it really sucks whats happening
guess a widdle someone won’t be sleeping tonight
I started the video of gamer nexus
Quite heartbreaking how bad the industry is doing
Wouldnt be surprised if 2 years from now some of these companies dont exist anymore
All of this for AI data center 😵💫
I just want to upgrade my PC
You mean GeForce Now?
oh boy is GN really just becoming a tinfoil channel in a month that would be so sad
75c is fine
prank your 5800x3d by bending the pins
well I wouldnt say hes quite gone yet but man after the whole blacklist tantrum he had its just getting worse
He‘s always had a bit of a weird ego thing with his own importance and a bit of a persecution complex, just that the latter has been validated in some ways (the hardware unboxed thing) and now that american big tech is in the pockets of the current administration he is slightly justified in some of it
But like, i think he really strongly overestimates how big of a deal he is and how much people are out to get him
The videos and content are good and i think his team does a good job but steve himself seems like a bit of a mess at times
I think one thing that stood out to me was like when someone asked him what system integrator they should buy from and he was like theyre all shit and he only tried like two major ones so i found it a little weird
oh thats fine, they did shop around at all the majory ones and had different issues with all of them
and then some you pay a lot more even if the pc is fine so there generally is no good answer to what SI to buy from
I‘m just reminded of the whole ltt thing where like half of it was good, legitimate criticisms of the reviews and egregious errors that needed to be corrected etc, and then the other half was just random personal grievances
yeah that had a point but wasnt handled well
Yeah its usually stuff that if you take it at face value 100 percent itll be very inaccurate
ltt still has issues in that regard but so does GN
Like, it‘s clear that steve has some sort of hate boner for linus for whatever reason we will never know
That said, i still watch the case reviews and stuff to decide what‘s a good case to buy
I shopping around smalelr ones hes right you cant choose parts exactly tho i think the build quality would be decent
At least i hope lol
Tho the cyberpowerpc video was funny cause they let you ship the next day pretty insane
Ironically, GN is a perfect companion channel to LTT, you watch LTT for random fun popcorn style videos and GN if there‘s an important review
idk at this point ltt drama isnt even the biggest issue, the anti ai and government tinfoil thing is just sad
I mean
Whats wrong with the anti ai stuff in your words
I‘m more on his side than not on those things
like there is anti ai which is fine and then theres going tinfoil about how nvidia wants to not have you own anything anymore
But he does seem to feel like he‘s breaking some big new story when it‘s all kinda just known
which like, no, they want you to buy hardware and then ideally also have GFN subscroptions on top
or acting like big ceos should not do anything with ai anymore, yes ai has downsides but expect nvidia/intel/amd to be anti ai is insane
The whole "you will own nothing and be happy" scare is so funny to me
Korean PC stores are wild, configured one for a friend he ordered it and it was built and at his doorstep like 5 hours later
Like, you do know you can just stop using spotify right now and go back to buying cds
like, if amd and intel would stand against ai usage the companies would die currently lol
Their stock price would yeah
not just their stock
And in modern society all that matters is stock price for the shareholders
I cannot wait for this ai bubble to do what bubbles do
no like, take intel for example, if theres no ai demand the company is on the verge of not being able to operate because their data center hardware is just too far behind
so if they take an anti ai stance, we suddenly end up with a monopoly for consumers, great!
So many things went down at intel that i so fundamentally disagree with
It‘s actually crazy
Yeah most people wouldnt think about that they will see ram price go up ai bad etc
I still think pat gelsinger was robbed
Prices will come back down right..
ehh, pat was maybe robbed but also at the same time, he's made so much money, put intel onto a path of potential and gave them a chance
like on one hand he did fix some fab issues, on the other hand, the data center cpu roadmap is still a mess, they have like nothing until 2028 and that one seems only alright so far
California and Colorado legislated that Linux distributions, being free and open-source, are exempt from the age verification in operating systems, unless they are proprietary like SteamOS (and Windows).
Too bad the systemd developers already complied with fascism in advance before the bills were even finalized.
Will Lennart Poettering and his followers now please remove the birthDate field from systemd?
P.S.: If you reply with any variation of "You need to calm down," I will block you.
181
170
That looks EV.
To be fair, this is an explicit step towards fascism from fascists. But it is getting thrown around a bit more than it should be.
I would agree if it wasnt very obvious that in some cases its at best incompetence
hell some of these alleged age verification bills arent even that
one of the first ones was about having a system prompt that asks for the age at creation, EXPLICITLY not allowing verification via id or anything
so like, the opposite and was putting the work onto parent or guardian to set it up correctly if a child is using it
Yeah but this type of stuff is almost always expanded to include more draconian things later, one millimeter at a time so it's harder to notice.
as I said, one of them had the explicit step of preventing it, so other bills would not be able to ask for more
it would've basically moved online popups that dont do anything to OS setup time and prevent some of them sites from needing actual verification
I'd probably disable such a thing anyway, less tracking info.
Why does Discord keep jumping to this message?
yeah its not ideal but my main point was just that the word facism gets thrown around too easily
especially when we have legit concerns about that currently in the US
Yet the fascists throw "woke" around more, which is impressive and depressing.
yup
The new Ferrari has four motors.
could have just said all wheel drive
well, i've seen more engines on the same vehicle 😄
as in a combo of 4 electric engines and 2 diesel engines powering them, let's see who knows what vehicle i'm talking about
Sounds like a train.
There are many different ways of doing AWD.
guessing hypercar, that uses the electric motors for the initial start before motors warm up
is it a semi truck?(just noticed you said diesel

my final guess is concept car
An airplane/similar wouldn't make much sense.
Could be a boat, but that also wouldn't make too much sense.
The VK 45.01 (P), also informally known as Tiger (P) or Porsche Tiger, was a heavy tank prototype designed by Porsche in Germany. With a dual engine gasoline-electric drive that was complex and requiring significant amounts of copper, it lost out to its Henschel competitor on trials, it was not selected for mass production and the Henschel desig...
lol
xD
But yeah, a sports car with four electric motors sounds awesome.
You can do some really cool torque vectoring stuff with that!
wasn't safe at all, heck, the reason it never really made it far beyond prototype stage, it used to go up in flames from just driving around^^
figured
I mean.
but on paper it was still quite the interesting concept
so civilians turning into ghost rider?
like being about as fast forwards as backwards while not having to do some absurd transmissions can really make a difference, having almost no speedup time as well, especially when re-positioning or retreating
I still don't know how fast my car can go backwards.
ask tow mater, he will teach you to drive backwards
It is interesting that EVs can hypothetically go just as fast backwards as forwards, but you don't want them to because the coolant loops/related are designed for one direction and when they are in reverse they don't work as well.
I have driven backwards though my work parking lot at what felt like ~20MPH.
in a straight line guessing
Not really.
alright then
It's like this, so yes and no.
But I have cheater cameras on my car so I can see where I am going.
I wonder if there is a file manager for the 3DS that would allow me to access files on my NAS without having to set FTP up.
Doesn't really look like it.
yes there is i use that one with winscp https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/FTPD
oh my bad i read too fast its 4am and 29c in here
Wrong direction and also FTP.
yeah i suppose that ftp is the only way, from what i can tell only some legacy version of windows file transfer works besides that
Finally catching on
Thanks but no thanks
Sms sucks
Having to use yet another system also sucks
SMS works. I know when it happens. Don't need to fix what isn't broken with more systems
The other systems already are used why not fully utilize them
I wish fido keys were more supported those are true defense
Two fido keys are like two nuclear keys
It would be your windows login pin
That simple
I'ma just start going to companies and sell my information. Cut the middle man out
max the profits
clearly my information is worth a lot for some odd reason
Well for ads
profit maxxing
Ah yes. The one I don't use cause I am not beholden to Microsoft's always online system. Offline accounts only here.

truly miss the offline accounts
even setting up a vm and downloading windows os i gotta use an online ms account....
just to setup in vm like bruh
🗒️In today's video I will show you 6 working methods to bypassing the Microsoft Account requirement when setting up Windows 11 and creating a local account. Microsoft has made it increasingly difficult to complete setup without signing in with a Microsoft account, and they’ve indicated that some bypass methods may be removed in future ver...
Windows 11 is more of a reskin anyways
I personally do not mind giving my data to Microsoft
I use office, OneDrive and their services
i mean its just annoying setting it up in vm
I mind potentially being locked out of my PC because I'm not online or their authenticator system is down.
Oh I see where the confusion came their authenticator is an option
But not the only one
I've had this issue twice over the years with 11. And that was twice too many
I imagine you can use Microsoft account password or email code
ngl i hate OneDrive
I personally do not trust authenticatior apps
and now Microsoft is locking everything behind a paywall
Lost access to my university duo authenticator stuff had to go to the university to fix it once and another time had to call them
cant even edit my own videos that i recorded. ( i would use clip champ for editing)
I do not like being dependent on others
I meant windows login. The screen.
Oh unlucky
OneDrive is basically Microsoft version of Google drive
I would not count either having a video or photo editor
I remember on Google drive I used add-ons for html coding for instance
So same deal as your utilization of clip champ
I miss the days when I didn't have to tell OneDrive to download everything, and instead assume I'm always online and want to stream files.
On phone it's even worse. I have to specifically select each file to have available always.
Os fragmentation I guess
Then again a phone is more mobile no
May piss some people off with background drain
I dislike OneDrive tending to constantly ask on some updates to upload files and desktop to itself
No means no especially with how stuff goes poof
Oh well, least Microsoft does not fook over the design language just cuz they can on their products.
Oh that reminds me. The android app is so intrusive. Every time I open it. I have to dismiss at least three different ads/prompts.
No I don't want 365, no I don't want a yearly subscription for 1TB, no I don't want to review the app
Reviewing the app the feels diabolical
I may be wrong but I swear I remember reviewing some other apps, and they still prompt for a review🤨

The first popup really is a waste of time
Ugh not Cisco duo
Did not know Cisco owned it
Yeah they own the whole Duo sso thingy
Yo uh my wooting isn’t connecting, I accidentally unplugged during update and now it’s not turning on
And i restarted my pc to think i could fix but now i am keyboardless and i cant put my pin in
The purpose of this article is to help you with the factory reset, restore and recover process to solve any issues with settings, actuation or connection issues
Wait wrong one smh
If your Wooting keyboard starts acting up, don't worry—it doesn't always mean it's broken. Often, the issue can be resolved by simply restoring your keyboard to its default settings.

Ok there
Actually fahhh it doesn't matter both work
Bro needs to calm down
They made it such a big deal despite the fact that birthDate has been only added to systemd-homed, and I doubt that anyone uses that, besides some corpos that use it for user management
First they came for the Corporations, then they...
There's a lot of legitimate concerns about these things. They tend to creep in step by step.
Having only two states do this seems like a drop in the ocean though. I doubt anyone's going to bother setting up special conditions for just that. A country or a collection of them? Sure.
My wooting 60he v2keyboard is broken. It's not that the module was broken, but the backspace key was stuck, so I tried to loosen the screw to fix the stabilizer, but I accidentally applied too much force, causing the screw to wear out. Can I get a refurbished?
It's fucking scary how accurate that is
Contact support, we can probably send you some replacement screws
The buildup for tmp 2.0 landfill wave was there for a while
Ok.
But, I can't remove the screw. It's stuck
Guys I got a Wooting 60 he v2 and now there keyboard with 16k hz should I buy or don’t matter
not like 8k hz polling would ever even needed by anyone
I keep Wooting? Still the best wait for Wooting 60 v3?
let me ask you a question in return...
does the 60 he v2 work the way you want it to?
so i checked videos doing latency tests and idk if it even is actually 16k polled. it performs the same as top 8khz boards
they are both sub 1ms
its not likely you or anyone on the planet can feel the latency difference really
theres also smth to be said about latency vs accuracy/reliability
but thats usually not tested (except rtings they do a test for reliability)
heck even 2-3ms wouldn't really be noticeable 😅
Wait where is 60 he v2 on that I only see 80he
Some people say anything above 1 k is to much
this was charted before v2 release
Oh,
because its basically unnoticable
it comes down to what i personally call "eventuallities"
It’s same as 80he
the v2 is slightly better than the 80
What woot you got
The Og
Where they the best ones back then
There was not such a focus on numbers and performance back then, it was mostly about features like the analog feature or adjustable actuation point
I‘m pretty sure the big focus on polling, speed and all that mostly came after the release of the original 60he and rapid trigger
16k polling is impossible via current usb controllers btw.
Not the bandwidth, but the controller is the bottleneck
If you've stripped the screw, place rubber band on top of the screw for a better grip, then press a screwdriver into it and try to unscrew. If you manage to remove them, there should be spare screws included in one of the bags in the box.
Nah it's legit they got it working
If someone advertises 16khz its an immediate redflag
Why would they lie?
Can’t 16 k work in motherboard ports
na you can simulated it already with usb3
True 16khz sustained is not possible
idk why mchose would be the one to make the first step to more than 8k though
ive seen usb3 prototypes sustain over 8k
Is this sarcasm?
Show me
Bottleneck are still the usb controllers
ok travel back in time and i can show you since this was just a bread board prototype
Its not physically possible on the controllers currently used
at a convention no less
All usb controllers on the market now are not capable of more than 8k
8k is actually right at the limit
To have bigger number than wooting and everyone knows bigger number always better product!
with the default driver stack and the normal polling mode this is correct
but yes lets ignore custom driver stacks and other operation modes usb3 offers
and just stick to usb2
heck idk if anyone ever even played around with usb4 custom driver stacks
Bardoz does a good job of explaining it
The video I reacted to, from @kimmye9 :

We have to go by what is currently in use
Do any of you think the superstrike is worth it
so just for the sake of it i tried to find the 16khz section and it doesnt go over that at all
nor can i find a section mentioning usb hardware can only go up to 8khz
I'm so scared, can I do it?
Wow you really did a number on that screw
Yes, I tried to loosen the screw to solve the backspace key malfunction problem, but these two are causing trouble.
phew i was concerned for a second
SwitchyHeart: Even so, I don't use an electric drill.
Yes, you can use the rubber band
to do what? cut off the only piece you have to get it out? 😄
you can use a flathead, but i dont know how to do that well.
OK thank you so much
damn that right screw is like fully stripped
I don't know why that is even though I didn't use an electric driver.
i'd either suggest a flathead screwdriver or if that won't get enough grip in the screw maybe a drop of hot glue or clear nail paint might fixate it good enough to get them out, if you managed to get them out definitely toss them out and use new screws and from that point onwards check for the correct size screwdriver before fiddling with screws, as in one that fits without wobbling^^
I'll try it now, thank you.
but yea, if those tries also fail i guess that cutter of yours there might be the only way to get them out if you're careful enough not to scratch the board
just really limit your power to not cut the screw in half or similar 😅
I'll keep that in mind.
Yeah... Poorly fitting screwdrivers can strip screws 🙁
can? they will (well, unless the screwdriver is soft garbage then the driver will break first)
That's a good choice as well
Neither the computer repair shop nor the eyeglass shop had the tools available, so I couldn't get it repaired. The problematic part is only the beckspace part, so should I just bear it and use it?
If the backspace key works fine and you don't plan to swap stabilizers in the future, then just forget about it I guess
what? they could not take out a screw?
Find a mechanic or machine shop. They sold be able to drill it out with a left handed drill
my bad, i missclicked and linked the wrong video
This one is DENSE.
I really want to increase my production quality, make stuff easier to digest, but I thought that I might as well start with what I can do now, and see if people care.
If you do, ofc let me know in the comments, and come hang out in Discord!
And as per usual, if you found anything that was incorrect/imprecise, let me know.
...
Aaaah, now I get why it's called "3D cache", smart AMD
They said one was spinning and the other was worn out. If the method that people told me doesn't work, it's a huge loss, but I'll buy a new one. I will try hard one more time ty
local repair cafe?
Yes
The official distributor is very far, taking two hours round trip. In Korea there's only one
you can sacrifice a bit by glueing it to the stripped screw
then it should come out easy
or dremel
method didn't work because it was fixed so strongly that it was surprisingly not warped.
That's my bad ..
maaaaybe a correctly sized flat head can loosen the right screw, otherwise I would try to grip and twist it with pliers to get it loose
I tried turning it strongly with Nipper, but it didn't have much effect. I'll give it a try. If that still doesn't work, I'll try soldering it with the idea of changing the substrate.
I'll try ty
soldering won't work
OK, thank you for saving me.
like if all else fails, try to use a saw or a file to get a slit cut in it
but that would be last resort imo
Ok, I will keep that in mind.
How cant they fix it? Isnt this just drilling the core out?
this also only goes over the normal driver stack not custom stacks and drivers
which he doesnt say anything wrong
Drilling has so much risk...To be honest, I'm worried so I'm considering giving up the Backspace Bar and using the Stabilizer as a stock version.
Yeah but that’s what i expect a repair shop to be able to do
Not really
Yea
I'm going to ignore the backspace bar and use it. Thank you for your help.
2 bay NAS or 4 bay?
4
the more the merrier
Not that you can find 4 HDDs in this economy
8TB Ironwolf is now almost 2x more expensive than one I bought 3 years ago
Just earn more money lol
just time travel 🙄
4 bay and then only buy two new drives for it
For now it'd have 2 HDDs in it anyway
What did you buy? I was lucky too get my 6 bay for $499 a while back. N95 and 8gb of ram
I'm looking at QNAP TS-264 or TS-464, has Celeron, so I can host Jellyfin on it as well
They are the same, just that 264 is 2 bay and 464 is 4 bay
Nah, Synology I want to avoid as much as I can
I had QNAP for 3 years already, solid stuff
@ashen spindle

yeah its insane..ly bad
500 bucks fdor a celeron is wild XD
this thing comes out end of the year, mostly as gpu host, can barely tie hand picked turin skus, venice is in mass production and revealed after computex next month
Would cost me the same if I were to build a similar PC, so
Also more compact than an old desktop
No need to deal with an sff build too going new
Just no idea if I should go for 2 or 4 bays
It will have for time being 2x8TB anyway
And 4 bay is 200€ more expensive
Damn is already computex time... feels lithe CES was only a few weeks ago
Wooting gunna be at Computex
How fast is your data hoard growing?
you can get a 8500g, 8gb, 2.5g matx and a case/psu for under 500
might be slightly over 500 is you want a tiny itx
I would build if I were making a giga home server
But tiny box for 500 is fine for light stuff
thats all new current gen hardware
Right now I have a bit over 7TB of stuff
if you go used, it would be cheaper
You're not using raid for those 2 8tb?
Already close to max if not
the only downside is idle power will be 30w higher
but the 8500g will use less power doing anything intensive
esp encoding
Right now I have 8TB and 4TB in a thick volume, So I'm at around 7 out of 11TB
I'm getting another 8TB because on 4TB one SMART is already screaming at me
No gpu though
5500 has no' igpu*
Damn maybe the 4 bay
one of the best booths at computex because ZERO AI
I honestly would go ddr4 intel for a home server
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 8500G, Fractal Design Core 1100 MicroATX Mini Tower
cheapest i could get with 2.5g
i always just take my old core compoents and move to nas
Yeah maybe 4 bay, unless qnap expansion unit is not too expensive
wow the 2026 G14 looks really good, no wonder they significantly improved the thermals
look at the size of those fan intakes
159 for 2 bay expansion
Yeah, I'd rather go for 4 bay atp then
wild
Also ARM, so no Jellyfin
Nyeh, too much hassle
I already host few websites on RPi, would want to move them to NAS as well
I can mount M.2 in 464 for OS and docker stuff
I run unraid on my terramaster box
just get a normal pc
My two 1tb wd black ssd are worth like 300 usd now that are in my NAS
Got them for like 70 each
I'd go for TrueNAS, I already have some experience with it
But for NAS I want to have plug-n-forget, and so it will be sitting behind TV
id say put it infront of the tv what if it gets bored ?
HexOS
why ask for help if you already made up your mind
I asked if I should go for 2 bay or 4 bay one, not if I should go for a NAS or PC
I don't want a PC, I don't want to tinker with it, and I don't want for it to take a lot of space, I could do this long time ago from parts I already have
I want it to be small and consume as little power as possible, so dedicated NAS is the only option here, it will host file sharing, Jellyfin, like 5 docker containters, and that's it, going for PC in that case is an overkill
I dont wanna have only 1 2tb ssd cuz i dont want random images on it, but also i dont want to pay even more for something like a hard drive 😭
yeah and the celeron is a bad choise for jellyfin unless you barely do encoding. qsv with 8gb of ram on that is going to be 1 or 2 1080p streams before tapping out
If it will be struggling I can always throw in 8GB stick in it, DDR4 SODIMMs are quite cheap
isnt a 8gb stick really breakable why would u throw it
I prefer to scratch my back with 8GB DDR4 sticks
can i have one stick im HUNGRY :(
and a jonsbo n2 is like 20% larger, its not like you gotta buy a giant topwer
just wild to spend the same money for somethat that is 10 times slower, and barely upgradeable
Tbh i do wanna get a smol 2 BAY nas
TS-233, I have this one now, small, cheap, silent, works amazingly well
I actually killed an old DDR2 stick one by scratching my back with it
But idk how they perform as a smol Plex server
For Plex you want something with Intel CPU then, so it can transcode when necessary
I use a Quadro for that.
I mean, you can do any setup with new-ish GPU/CPU, but Intel CPUs are most energy-efficient for that
you know that most amd cpus have igpus now
also the main reason i rec a 8500g is it will even encode av1
working != most energy efficient
No very energy-efficient though
👀
um have you not seen the power useage for the 8500g? its one of the most power effient socketed chips you can buy.
yeah no I dont even need to look that up, thats some rdna3 igpu so theres just no way its efficient
yeah that looks bad to me?
12th gen is more effient than the 11th in that celeron
the 12600k is a 3 year older desktop chip in comparison?
was the same tester, and we are comparing to the icelake celeron
going to have more idel power on a 8500g, but while encoding it will be about equal
intel qsv isnt that power efficent
its not about qsv thats a much older igpu still keeping up lol
if a current gen entry level intel cpu isnt way better I'd be extremely shocked
quin, whatcha think, 2 bays or 4 bays NAS?
There will be 2x8TB and one 256G SSD for time being in it
the 225 is like 100 bucks more
mainly from mobo. itx 2.5g intel boards are a lot more than amd ones
4 bay is nice because if you ever want to use it for something important you can set up redundancy better
Ooooh, I could make a 1TB RAID1 pool for important stuff on the other 2
That's a great idea
How much is the ts464 where you are?
About 750
Damn, how much is the terramaster F6-424?
770
That's huge though s
Lol
thats what she said XD
Would be a fine start
rip nvidia control panel 🤔
you talking about the new game ready driver?
610.47?
@ashen spindle @fickle ore amd might hit 500 today

this bubble makes no sense man
Installed revanced on my neighbors phone 😎
ye
you can still use it, but they wont be updating it anymore
Was it even getting any updates? Looks exactly the same as it did 20 years ago
true monetary inflation is craaaaaazy
FOMO right now
Intel F doesn't have iGPU, so no QSV
I know that means no codec, but does that also mean no transcode?
Looks unrealistic XD
Here's 4k
I see my GPU :D
Did you drop the
What
The 4k one has a lot more GPUs
Cuz i screenscapped
Ye so I was asking
Whatever
I'm curious what the 3080 has

That was fast
I got revoked my Gemini license at work and got limited tokens on Claude
Also can't use Claude Code, Codex nor Gemini CLI
for me the boss mostly said go try things (not officially on a budget but knowing him...) So we ended up with a 5 seat claude code plan for me the standard pro is sufficient for now as I can always do something else. But it do be useful automating things I have no time to actually code tools for.
For me it's funny, because just 3 weeks ago we were scolded that we don't use enough tokens
Bad IT use more AI
Oh wow, not how it works at all. Let people figure out how to best use it. But hey corpo be corpo
Saw an article basically saying how now the squeeze will start for ai
Which makes sense this really unsustainable business model will now need to generate revenue
And when it’s no longer free for college/Highschool students to just cheat Willy nilly their user base will lessen
That's wild
What ABS should I get?
Double shot
Slammed my wooting60he because it doesn't come with feet and is giving me carpel tunnel my problem is that now the space bar is stiff and i'm wondering how to fix it. thanks
guessing you dislodged the spacebar keycap from the stabilizer on one side
just push down on the raised side
this helped, thanks. did your wooting60he come with feet or is this something i need to buy
i am guessing the 60he falters on adjustable fit since it is based on the universal 60 footprint
yeah looks it sadly for you
not a problem i'll have to shop for a different keyboard ig, mainly bought this for the hall effect
thanks again
does it come with adjustable feet?
For me the handrest is the most important part though
did they come with the keyboard?
Indeed
and a handrest?!
Adjustable feet did nothing until i got the handrest
Cuz ur hands are just too low without em so they’re always straining
The palm rest has always been standalone sadly
Depends, I got arm rests on my chair
i'll check it out, i appreciate the help y'all
Idk mine dont reach past my desk onto my keyboard
must have your keyboard on a table plane not a keyboard tray
or an actually complete keyboard, aka the 2he
Holy xd
if you got the space, sure why not
That looks awful ngl
works fine for me currently but 80HE layout feels too big in my opinion
why rest it when you can just train your muscles so you won't feel strained anymore?
not flat, and if you mean away from keyboard i can just elbow my arm rest
it does not work for everyone i get that
a lot people probably do not have chair arm rests or removed them
I have arm rests but to me it looks like you have a solid 5cm gap between arm rests and keyboard height wise
So unless you rest your arms with permanent tension angled upwards…
ah i see, it feels fine for me, and the keyboard is angled upwards anyways
i guess it could be a bit lower, but i have no pain
i may try to resolve that on a brand new layout though, there are tented keyboards, will be printing a ton of prototypes soon
just buy polymaker stock, avoid the white one due to titanium dixode making fabricated parts even more brittle
actually
you could do PET and anneal it
if you want color options fine, petg even has better temperature resistance than abs
also mind the fumes
they will cause a headache with abs and asa
Isn't PET more prone to water issues? I think Voron also explicitly asks for ABS.
i do not think you will have severe warping issues due to the v0 having a enclosure though
pet is hygroscopic yes
so is nylon
]yeah my dog likes water
I couldn't remember the term.
tis fine
you can use abs, just do not expect it to last
there are some questionable things the voron community has done in my opinion
Eh, worst case I print more parts.
I really don't want to mess with super hydroscopic materials or materials that have fillers like carbon or glass.
so with petg
you really just dry it
it really is not that hard
maybe you will reconsider another time
Maybe later, but not right now.
fair enough
I'm finding the want of a big printer though. The Voron stuff is just kinda fun too.
there are other options out there but vzbot, annex engineering and hevort are pretty ded
voron i think was designed more for apperance rather than anything else
It seems like Voron is the most active and there's a pretty neat looking multi material project for it.
ratrig is quite active too
however unlike most of the projects
it is company funded
and then also the community pitches in
Open?
if you mean if it is on an open source license it is
i got my printer design in cad
however they sell the kits, so if someone wants to sell kits they need a commerical liscense
500mm³
yeah but imma tell you now that sku is trash
it is under built and plagued with issues and on the 4.0 revision they made all the frames even longer and wider
its also because they build them and sell kits but its a RR are pretty decent
they do interesting things
they are still holding onto 4028 fans when much of nobody else it not
4028?
So like, the loud high CFM and static pressure fans?
I guess I have more research to do in general.
more airflow so high cfm
But I think I need to do this sooner than later, I'm starting to get several projects I'd like to do that needs volume.
Yeah those guys.
took them long enough to do a steel tube and then they had to put powder coat on it, use a odd profile and it being bent too......
yeah they make interesting design choices
if you do buy one, like they say on their server get the smallest one you can live with
at least they dont make as bad design choices as Finalmeme
the 500 will not fit through a door once built
actually in the past the limit switches they bought and put in kits had backwards adaptor cables and guess what some people got dead mainboards as a result
and i hate to say but idex is a joke
Might not have room for the 400.
But 300 is just shy of a foot so, maybe fine?
I'll have to do the 3D tape measure thing.
it has some extra x travel by the way due to forced idex frame and bed is oversized so 330by 330
so you could technically use a slightly bigger pei sheet
it kinda is
How big of a deal is the Y thing?
input shaper i was told today is cooked on it, and as one gets further away from calibration it becomes worse....
hybrid is y assist expect to gain a few kmm/s faster
i am gonna try it on my machine soon
but i think i be removing due to extra complexity for little gain, it makes sense for idex perhaps though two toolheads is more weight
Yeah that's what it says, I just have no idea how big of a deal that would be.
uh hold on
I'm not planning on doing a print farm kr anything, so it feels unimportant.
Some of the new slicer tech seems wild.
if you mean the color mixing that is using the same technique as inkjet
It almost looks like the graph was just scaled.
I mean more like Preflight and such.
that has such a long way to go🤣
Yeah, but it has some interesting promise.
thats so cooked
i think that is sorely needed due old code
I have no idea how to read this.
oh nahhh
you basically want one peak
the dotted lines can be ignored
higher frequency is preferable as well
already avaliable elsewhere
So, a decent chunk better but not insane?
other peoples stuff, can already run scripts in nearly all fff slicers
basically no real improvement, you can achieve a similar improvement by tightening the belts
which technically means more belt wear if we want to nitpick
So don't worry about it, got it.
but i guess your point is simplier ways to get better results?
depending on the printer design its probably ok given that GT3 is meant to run at way higher tensions than experienced in 3D printers
yeah
oh no not GT3
Maybe one day I'll do dual extruder for melting supports but that's the only way I think I'd care.
So my 5090 power connector finally burned out...

12VHPWR Cable strikes again

Melted his 5090 playing 007 First Light

lowk im starting to think its a skill issue, I have yet to burn up my 12vhpwr connected GPUs
Me either
could do indx honestly
but that cable is shite regardless
?
as long as the connector is fully seated and strain relieved its going to be fine
The three I have are fine. 🤔
Ah.
basically vortek from bambu for the hobbist peasants
Yeah I've never had issue either
I was thinking something like the palette for colors and a second extruder just for an alternate support material.
Had my 4090 for 3 yrs now
oh an ams or mmu
automatic material system or multi material system
#shorts #short #voron #ercf #usermod #compact #filamentcut
The Box Turtle is what I was thinking without much research.
so basically a klipper ams
it does suck the enclosure is seperate though
decent option though since ldo makes kits and turtle crawler did a decent job to make it more user friendly
Oh, it has changed a lot.
Last time I looked at it I swear it used spool cartridges that you could swap for moisture control.
Why is there a screen on the toolhead and what does that big tube do? I thought you wanted minimal inertia.
big tube is for cpap remote part coolign basically
and the screen is a gimmick from btt called konomi
That sounds excessive for what I'd do.
some people want flashy stuff
seems like the voron way
not everyone does it that way though
monolith server exists for performance there is also the cringey armchair engineering server
I wonder if you could use water for cooling, but that would he heavier.
the hotend?
Yeah, you could have a little radiator next to the fan with chilled water.
probably not in a heated chamber
depends i guess how high ambient is
such hotends exist like in the video
There's no upper bound.
ive seen liquid cooled hotends, but theyu still use air for part cooling
well there is another potential issue then do you want the x gantry crashing and causing a leak
If you pipe water that's like, 10C through a tiny rad I'm sure you could knock a good chunk of heat off. But at that point a hose makes more sense.
the best option is run water though the X rail and use it as the heatsink for hotend
but then you need all metal linear guides
Tricorn is a modern open-source hotend featuring mostly standard components while introducing some new ones. - tricornhotend/tricornhotend.com
you can also turn the x gantry into a water blook for the hot end
thats my plan one day
what you gonna use for the motion then aluminum rods?
I'm just not going to go that crazy yet.
sounds tricky considering the x gantry is attched to the joiners
99% of people never ruyn the flow rate needed for that
most prints are limited by the rapid speed, not print
For now I just need big parts for basic car accessories and PC bits.
Eh I can just run it slower or get a bigger fan for now, I don't care much about finish and such at the moment.
more heat youj try to put into the filiment the more you have to get out of the hotend and out of the part
ik print big shit as blanks for milling
so everything is low detail with big ass layers for strength
joiners?
yes linear rails
which have a part to attached the carriages to the ends of the x gantry
Eh, if I need mods I'll cross that bridge. But I don't see why I couldn't just run the extruder a little slower to compensate. Less plastic, less heat.
aka joiners
yheah its all alum
you definetly could
if anything without the proper heat soaking the plastic
parts are just weak and useless even
industrial machines still print slow for most mechnical strength
I don't think I need much strength right now.
that seems easy
there are a lot of plastic bits in most stuff
like linear rails are 5x the cose on guides for high temp
440c carriages?
idk the grade but the guides are all stainless with high-temp silicone wiper
?
What do you guys think about those 2.5D UV printers?
Eh resin is weak
So like this.
But when it's just for surface texture and color it seems fine.
If you want the high resolution fine
they are crn coated though
I don't mean like SLA.
so not silver
