The 9850X3D will still be better in raw gaming performance for the following reasons:

The higher TDP will not allow for higher clock speeds to match the 9850X3D, likewise controlling the temperature on this thing is gonna be a fucking job and a half if you really want to open it up.

Having L3 cache on both CCDs is fine but they're still separate meaning the limitation is gonna be the infinity fabric between both dies which, whilst fast, is still gonna be a limiting factor.

I think this is gonna be a solid offering (irrespective of price) but more to bridge the gap between the 9950X and the 9800X3D/9850X3D rather than supplant the latter as the absolute BiS chip for games.
