why's this dealer
Is a 5080 good for my first pc ?
Unless you want high refresh 1440p
what games do you play
R6, bo3 zombies , arc raider,call of the wild hunter @bright briar
lmao
you dont get high refresh on a 5080, barely on a 4090 and on a 5090 its acceptable in a lot of games
Bo3 has some issues with 50 series
But u can fix it
What is high refresh rate for you ? 240hz? Or above 360hz ?
9070 xt or 5070 ti should be more than enough. I would just pay attention to deals. 9060 xt also a good choice and more budget friendly
Yes, it's a very high end card
at least 240 consistently which means not avg but 1% and 0.1% lows have to be close to it, 1% maybe exceeding it or you dont truly have 240 fps
If we talk about competitive games u gonna put the graphics to low anyway so
gl in arc or the finals for example
doesnt really change much
and you still need gpu headroom or your cpu cant push frames either way

This my first pc I’m coming from a ps5 how did I do
remove the warning label
I am tempted to get another camera
consooome
yur
Is your aio on the wrong way?
Also tf is that cable management

its the wrong way 100%
I think they meant the fans
Maybe
i woudl always do bottom right
so the air bubbled collect somewhere you can see them
(for clarification this is a joke pls follow the instructions guidance on how to place rads)
Meant the screen itself/pump orientation
anyone know why my keyboard (i have 60he) makes me type a quotes and it makes me press space before it types or it iwll make an accent on like i and u like this à ï and stuff
Your chosen keyboard layout has that as a dead key, so change keyboard layout to one that doesn't have those dead keys if you don't like them
okay
also my closing square bracket doesnt work but my closing wiggly bracket does when i press shift what could be the cause of this
same thing as what they already said

yeah not thats not even close to accurate

9070XT is really popular and yet usage drops down?
I wondewr how they measure it though
they dont
they estimate it based on public revenue number and such
aka its mostly a guess and just doesnt align with anything
they say in the same market that they estiamte AiBs make up 103% of the market
like.. 3% from another dimension or what
That's what Nvidia meant
The more you buy
People seem to bought so much it's at 103% now
like, lisa said on the earngins calls jpr numbers dont match their own
and I think she'd not risk a hefty fine of lying to investors on an earnings call if they were close enough
How do I find the kernel manifest XML file for my phone so I can build the kernel?
None of the hashes appear to be lining up. .-.
I'm actually impressed by Gemini
I told it what dap and IEMs I have an asked it what settings on my dap to edit so I get warm yet detailed sound
And damn it did a good job
The IEMs I have are really treble focused.... I tuned that down a little but kept the bass as normal
I agree with Bee, I’d rotate the AIO screen to line up with the case windows instead of the current waterfall orientation.
wouldn't have gone with liquid cooling/AIO for my first pc honestly
Thanks to Meter for sponsoring this video! Go to http://meter.com/ltt to book a demo now!
It is time to Try Linux ONE MORE TIME. Linus, Luke, and Elijah all switch to Linux for a whole month and in this episode they chooses which distro they pick, install, and get gaming. Will they have issues? Will it go smoothly? Who knows!
Discuss on the fo...
well this video isn't making a good case for switching
Considering that system76 thought it was a good idea to use cosmic desktop on the stable build of popOS.....
A desktop that's still in alpha version ....
Not sure wtf they were thinking, you can definitely tell it's alpha in this video
The other two on CachyOS and Bazzite are happy though
I still recommend Bluefin
Basically 0 maintenance
Works with secure Boot automatically
Has Nvidia driver build
idk why linus would try the one os variant he keeps having issues with
its like people beind mad at asrock and keep using it
tbh it sounds pretty good on paper
not really
it claims to do desktop stuff and gaming well, which is what a lot of people would want
Yeah not sure why he gave it a try at the same time they switched to a new desktop
He didn't know they switched desktop either
Probably thought he was still using gnome like last time he tried popOS
yeah but just like with any product you should trust someone who knows about it and not a products marketing page essentially
popOS?
and there are several sources that are not popos themselves that recommend it for those criterias..
non rolling distros are just not a good idea for people new to it because it leads you to so many traps
Especially the ppa hell you can end up with on Ubuntu
I don't even know what a rolling or non rolling distro means
"stable" release schedule
Non rolling = you need a clean install on every new major release
Rolling = you can upgrade to each new release with no data loss
why the hell would anyone want to use a non rolling one
Windows is technically a rolling release
servers
Technically non rolling is more stable too
ehhh not really
And more outdated cause it doesn't update their base packages too often
its stable when you do nothing on it that updates like servers or nas
That's why I said technically...wait theoretically would be a better word
you dont want that for your daily system where you have updats on games and whatnot that might break it if you wait for the update in next months
also you dont need a clean install on non rolling distros
its preferred but thats also older and not the main defining thing of it
Maybe it's safe to inplace upgrade one release
But not two or more
I do trust the upgrade process on Fedora though
Once upgraded my friends laptop from 39 to 42 inplace using the Software app and it worked flawlessly
okay so their tech videos are starting to become even more pointless
I definitely trust bluefin updates
They are tested before being pushed out and it anything goes wrong, it rolls back automatically and stays on the preupdate version for 90 days before trying again
He said this on wan snow and I cringed hard
Also
I think the AI is outdated
CachyOS is definitely the better option for gaming compared to popOS
So does cachyos
Idk what you did with secure boot
Linus itself seems to be just loosing the plot as of recent times
But it was fine for me
Yeh
But CachyOS is Arch and doesn't have image based updates with automatic rollback
Linus said on wan show he knows popOS wasn't the best option.
think fedora still has the only up to date hdr and other current monitor things to make shit work? so if anything thats probably a good idea
Think you mean Windows is losing the plot
which is a dumb take
Pretty sure he mentioned cachyos
Fedora + plasma desktop is best for HDR , vrr etc
You can use gnome but you need to manually enable the VRR setting using dconf editor or refine
On wan
well most people ain't going to have a helpdesk on discord for a second opinion
Yeh that's why the other guy tried it and got on very well
no but they will look at a ltt video or similar at least
so they should not use chatgpt to just make lower quality shit then
Which now tells them to use popOS and the proceeds to show them that popos was horrible
ChatGPT wanted me to nuke my Plex to move it
again
Which he also said on wan show but he was gonna give it a second chance
like you dont need to watch wendell to find out ah fedora kde or whatever has the most up to date hdr/monitor things so probably a good idea
oh no
I feel like all debian/Ubuntu based distros are poop
VRR works perfectly on Fedora Workstation for me
I haven't tested HDR because my monitor has the fake HDR certification
Yep
Desktop wise anyway
Fedora and Arch are best options
Still my go to for servers
I would recommend Fedora
Since most software has an RPM package on their download page
copying so I dont retype what someone else said in another discord, and what I think is probably a good list of reccomendations
I've used fedora in the past
no i am 100% meaning that Linus sebastian is more and more delusional with each mansion he builds
Ohhh
Yes
True
like he sucks of the Linus that created linux on the pc build but then cant bother to use linux?
what?
Uh
yeah no that entirely misses the point of the video
Also
Lol right????
Then complains what s horrible experience Linux was on this new video because he used a desktop still in alpha
Servers
Honestly no
Because they think it's ready
I mean that has nothing to do with linus torvalds or linux in general
Clearly not
I honestly disagree
His issues with popOS are prominent on other systems.
Different experiences for everyone
I can respect linus torvalds for his work but still find linux a convoluted mess to get into
I have loads of my own issues with cachy
Use Fedora / Bluefin or CachyOS
That's all you need
and linus himself is critical of how confusing the distro jungle is
Yeh
That is a problem
Just ignore 90% of the distros
Focus on the big 3
Mint
Fedora
Arch
Like, I don't think there's any distro that just works and is flawless.
Not Ubuntu anymore.....canonical ruined it
Like, genuinely, no matter what you're going to have a more frustrating experience.d
Flawless is all I can describe bluefin as
Everything worked 100% perfectly
Whether it's compatibility, random issues or stuff that won't work well
It's not though
on your hardware*
For me it was, at least

Exactly my point
there isnt any flawless distro, just like windows isnt flawless, but there are distros that are just not set out for daily users and using those is just a gamble, like popos
I do have all AMD though
And a wifi card that works well on Linux
As much as I hate windows and I mean hate
Most of the time it just works and is plainly simple to use
Unfortunately that does come with it's consciences
Like being able to install malware with a double click
I can't say I hate windows, not 10 at least, but my hatred for microslop is steadily increasing
I like using Windows on a laptop
But much less on a desktop
Windows touchpad gestures are amazing and I wish I could replicate them on Linux
their leadership is delusional and don't give a rats ass about the end user anymore
I hate Wayland Vs x11
Linux has amazing touchpad gestures for navigating the desktop
But that's all you can do with them
No music control
No anything else but desktop navi
like the rest of the techbro club its all about the mighty shareholder
Right now I can remote into my desktop easily whenever I want, run Wayland? Ha not a chance you're shit out of luck
i mean i have not seen the video but based on what i read here he did not do a good job showcasing linux while giggling like a schoolgirl during the video he built a pc for the other linus? maybe that makes more sense( be patient i had a beer or 2)
Want to easily mount your steam library you used on past windows? Fuck you haha!
if you havent seent the video it's often not a good idea forming an opinion on what was wrong about it
We can do it but we don't want you to!
Want to run two steam instances at once? Not a problem! We'll fuck something up and have it glitch out.
I currently do mount my steam library from a drive I used previously on Windows
It's easy now with the gnome disk tool
the point was to figure out something that someone who cant just call up torvalds can do and not have a premium helpdesk on standby
Well that's just Steam being trash
Lana
Hun
A good desktop shit just works
I don't have to faff around
This guide isn't just for Bazzite
That doesn't change my point
if you have seen any linus tech tips video past 2022 you know they do half assed videos , where they portray things in a bad way simply because they messed up and did not bother to rectify the issues, there are several issues in their testing lab and in terms of content itself.
I mean microslops own support is utterly worthless for most part but at least its been around for so long and used by so many you can basically find 99% of solutions to problems searching the web
troubleshooting linux is an endless rats nest of possible solutions
You can install Gnome Disks on every desktop
Linux Desktops aren't and never will be simple, easy and just work, its a mess.
I think you're not getting my point.
Bluefin just works on every system I installed it on
Including my friends Nvidia gaming laptop
You just sent me a guide to fuck around in disks just so I can use my steam library
well i would say with linux you have to handpick a distro thats foolproof
I made a Linux duel boot and immediately broke it when trying to install amd drivers

Not sure how you did that
Yeah cause you did something you don't have to do, unless your distro is really junk
to be clear I'm using Linux ATM
Nothing just works Lana
Windows is far from perfect but shit just works most of the time.
Install AMD drivers on Linux?
They are already built in
Like, I'm genuinely pissed off how shitty Wayland is, it blocks remote fucking clients holy shit.
Why is it so shit
one half of me wants to put together a rig for linux, the other wants the money I could get for the gpu I would need for the linux rig
Except the things that I use that OS for. Ofc it's more likely crappy software like how Highguard blocks Linux players, I wanted to check it out before they kill it but it just immediately crashed on startup. Had to fiddle for a long while to get it working. Windows gaming sure works amirite?
It's literally the biggest reason I haven't switched fully.
Wayland is mostly shitty because every time they add a new feature
They need to then add a hacky jank workaround to get it working on Nvidia GPUs too
Except my issue has nothing to do with Nvidia.
Since they can't just edit the Nvidia drivers to smoothly work with the feature
Yeh
But those janky workarounds are still present on AMD systems
What are you on about.
Nah in this case it's more core developers not wanting certain features (for some good and bad reasons) so they just endlessly argue and bikeshed how to do something
That doesn't relate to my frustration.
Nothing gets done
Exactly
It has nothing to do with Nvidia
Wayland is just shit
With stupid choices
In terms of experience then yes Nvidia poop
I'm shit and make stupid choices
Maybe that's why Linux just works perfectly for me
But im on about core functions
I think you're just numb to the stupid shit
An error that requires 10 terminal commands is basically taking a sneeze
Even though that's far from user friendly
I don't experience any stupid shit
Except my printer not wanting to connect to my Wi-Fi so I need to physically connect it to my laptop with a very old and damaged USB B cable to print anything
Like don't get me wrong, I was saying hospitals should use Ubuntu or something as 90% of work is done in the browser.
My WiFi is garbage on Linux
My sound is garbage on Linux
On amd
🤔
On my laptop.
Idk what AMD has to do with sound
And on my cachyos audio just didn't work
Since you always use the Nvidia card
I had to switch to pipewire which isn't just working!
My mouse didn't want to work on Ubuntu last time I tried Mint....
Also my mouse
I had issues with that even though Logitech worked pretty well in the past.
Yes I tried all the options
It worked once I unplugged and plugged back in the dongle
But I had to do that every boot
Audio problems still a thing huh, has worked pretty well for me, dare I say better than on Windows. Especially when I'm occasionally using the cursed shit known as BT Audio
Linux is great on laptop, shit on desktop.
Windows you launch something and bam it switches to headset mode and makes everything sound awful
Because you only need to do basic shit on laptops
My Bluetooth headphones work way better on Linux too
I have to forget and repair them on Windows when I boot into it
On Linux , I click connect and their work right away
I connect my headphones and bam they work
That is a good example of what I mean
Everyone has different experiences
I've never had that issue with Bluetooth on Windows
Same for my Xbox controller
Same with controllers, flawless.
My Xbox controller also needs to be forgotten on Windows
Ironic cause Microsoft make both Xbox and Windows
Yet I know windows is garbage and your issues are very real.
Computor will probably show up differently depending on OS, so whenever you switch you probably have to re-pair
Yes
But when I boot in to Linux after using Windows
I just click connect and my headphones work
No need to forgot them on Linux
I don't even need to click pair on windows
But if I boot back to Windows I need to forgot them
Not pair... Connect
I do have to repair on Windows though
windows likes to pile up usb devices and keep their fingerprints in some registry
I'm still rooting for Linux desktops
I really am and it's better than it's ever been.
if you plug in and use too many eventually it gets stocked up and doesn't let you access new devices properly
WTF
its stupid but its what it does, you have to manually delete some of the old ones
Oh yeah also Windows every time I want to use the analoginess of my Wooting keyboard I have to clear entries from the registry, never ever had to do such nonsense on Linux lol
But it's still only for people who are ready to do stupid shit and deal with stupid shit
Dafuq
Because it's creating duplicate entries in the registry or some shit, this was fixed years ago but came back and am not sure why, maybe I just plugged it into the wrong port again but am lazy to change
I just want Firefox to be able to support WebUSB so I can use wootility without needing to install Chrome
Linux just blocks that.
Stop using a shit browser
Chrome?
I only use that for Wootility
Firefox
It's not shit
It's very shit
Nah
Switch to brave
Brave is too clunky
it's objectively just a worse browser aside from maybe data privacy usage
USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices that currently connected to your computer, as well as all USB devices that you
previously used. For each USB device, extended information is displayed: Device name/description, device type, serial number (for mass storage devices),the date/time that device was added, VendorID, ProductID, and more...USBDeview also allows you to uninstall USB devices that you previously used, and disconnect USB devices that are currently connected to your computer.
performance is just straight up worse
Clucky???
I use that to clean up the usb device registry
Clucky?
All chromium based browsers work poorly in my experience, hell only recently did they get autoscrolling and even that is scuffed
Wtf
And I can theme Firefox with CSS so I can make it blend in with my gnome desktop
chrome/chromium work better than firefox does to my experience
if you compare speedometer results on firefox vs chromium/webkit/idk what else you see firefox is insanely worse
Pretty sure you can do that in brave
Which is why Firefox can look like a native gnome app
firefox is slower and clunkier yeah
Literally looks similar to brave running in gnome
at least on win10
Firefox is great for privacy
Got ublock origin
And I use my dns profile on it
What's clunky?
firefox has better privacy than chrome maybe, not other chromium browsers
It doesn't use the native window decorations and theme colors either
Brave has dns, it's whole thing is privacy and it's built in stuff is better than ublock in a lot of cases.
The only thing I like about Firefox is containers
I wish they existed elsewhere
Brave is also made by a raging homophobe bigot
if thats an argument better not check what firefox people do/did...
Yeh
I really wanted to try Omarchy :'(
Also isn't Firefox moving towards being an ai browsers
Also ye this
Yeh ... Like literally every browser and app these days
Didn't they basically say they can sell your soul
to their credit that's fully opt out
But you can disable the ai
That's not the point
also uh, the exact same person was ceo of mozilla and he was their chief tech officer for like a decade
so like, based on that you cant touch firefox either
funny how the tech industry are either trans gay furries or raging bigots
Fr it's a funny argument to make given Firefox's
I hate myself
I'm including myself with people
Or racist femboys
yeah firefox hasn't been good since like 2011
I used Firefox for a few years after quantum launch
I genuinely loved the container feature
I could probably use ungoogled chromium
Got the clean UI that can follow the native gtk desktop theme without issues
But then there's no ad blocker
Ublock?
ublock lite still exists..
Ublock origin doesn't work on Chrome anymore
yes it does
Works on brave
Yeh but lite is like 30% compared to the regular version
Brave
nah
not officially, but you can edit some parameters and it'll work again
Brave mobile app is good too
Ok yes
On mobile I do like brave
Hasn't been for me for ages tbh
What's your issues with it
I use Arc broser on mobile usually
Arc is only iOS and macOS right?
they make one for windows too
Oh hmm
Honestly I don't know, it just freezes after I search randomly a while and I have to force close.
No lag or anything
It's as if the tab becomes the issue as if I can close the tab my browser recovers
But it's always when I use the search function
also works on android
I've cleared cache, data and even re installed.
Does brave have an option to import all my tabs and tab groups from Chrome? On Android
Yeah I'll pass on the android app
I mainly like it because it it has a better automatic element blocker which blocks ads and popups
Oh..... Yikes that's not good
I'm trying to replicate my issue but it won't work lol
its more aggressive than brave lmao
It's still in beta
yeah they focus way more on the webkit version
Has the desktop version been abandoned yet
I really dislike these wavy lines when updating and installing apps now
Is that even new
Maybe a month or two new
no they still keep the windows version updated
they dont lag too far behind the latest chromium versions
March 5, 2026 —V.1.96.0Thanks for keeping Arc up to date! This update bumps Arc to Chromium 145.0.7632.160, bringing additional security fixes plus background stability and performance improvements...
That's nice, it was a workhorse when I was doing ticket support
Multi window is a godsent
yee
I just wish it had sync options
Oh I just read they added sync
However it's their login system?
Oh apparently it's meh
From what i read, the lack of amd drivers was why I couldn't use 240hz and was locked to 120hz
So I tried installing them and my Linux install got bricked
I have made a questionable financial decision.
Ooo, a new 3d printer?
Just why
I wanted more cores.
Hopefully when the bubble bursts I can turn the 5900X into a server.
For what XD
Compiling stuff faster
its not really gonna be that much meaningfully faster
That's 33% more.
siiiiiiir
that wallpaper
siiiir
also why you got 63 tabs opened ðŸ˜
What's wrong with my wallpaper
Once I turned 30 I started my journey to boomerhood which includes forgetting to close tabs.
This should start at the age of 30?
Guess I am a little early
It's uhhh I like it
Orca slicer and bambu studio are the most cursed
That's normal.
Need to hit one of these
fixed my fan curves and UV, got much better results
Hello is there someone who can please help me with my pc
It wont show display anymore and has a orange light
likely a ram error @thorny robin
did you clean your PC up or anything? could just not be seated in right
but orange generally = Ram issue
This is a first build
I didnt clean or anything
Just built it but it booted bios like 30 mins ago
Idk why now
try pulling out the ram sticks and re-seating it
also did you enable xmp or expo? 90% orange whenever I work on a build is physical ram issue
BUT I mean, maybe your ram sticks are bad and cant run the OC speeds?
though I will say, I havent ever dealt with that
does the light look like this?
orange and DIMM silk screened next to it?
Reset the BIOS
just threw that Idea out there lmao, Im not sure tbh!
You open the case
there is a reset bios button on your mobo back side
Haha no. Not always.
really? huh!
the more you know, that seems VERY inconvenient
Support us on Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/eTeknix
Sometimes you may find you'll need to reset bios/CMOS, so this video will show you the different ways of doing it even if you have an older motherboard or a newer one. Traditionally the way to reset bios/CMOS was to adjust the included jumper along the CMOS pins on the motherboard.
If you...
You can take the time mentioned with a massive grain of salt. A couple of seconds for the pin or battery is typically enough (you can turn on the PC a couple of times to fully de-charge the capacitors)
jesus that's a PRETTY AIO on a side note; I keep seeing that around!
what model is it?
i think its some tryx paranoma one smth along those lines
:0 200 big bucks
very nice! but too rich for my blood, especially for a cooler
anyway @thorny robin your PC is failing mem training.
- Watch the vid Mansen sent and reset your BIOS with the cmos battery
and if that dosent work
- Reset the RAM to see if that fixes it, if all else fails
90% of the time I've gotten that error its just the ram didnt slot in right
be sure to use the right channels, or check if you did if you're already in there
Use A2 and B2
Hey guys
I found smt im not sure if its related to what you meant
It says bios flbk
Would that be it?
Im kinda scared to press it
@latent mural
thats a bios flashback, it rolls your bios back to the last working state
incase a bios install fucked up or whatever
Would that work?
honestly, dosent hurt lmao
It didnt
no
just try re-seating the ram sticks
What if it turns off though
just turn it back on again
Because it turns off automatically
leave it for 5 mins
that means its failing the mem training
you need to go and pull out the cmos battery or short the cmos pins
yes
flash a light and take the cmos battery out with the yt guide sent by someone else earlier
Alr you said 5- 10 mins right
on?
Unplug the PC (Or set it to 0 on the back), pop the battery out and click the power button a few times. Pop the battery back in and power the PC on.
You do not need to wait minutes.
Guys
Its back but i have this now
Is this cpu temp normal?
I have a ryzen 7 9800x3d
Its marking this but all fans are running
Should i be worried
Its green now it was white
@lunar elm
Its steady 84 celcious
Celsius
That AIO isn't installed correctly.
There is no way in hades it runs at EIGHTY while idle in the BIOS
Ok time to bring it down by piece
Btw by not instaled properly do you mean connections or like physical contact
How much do you wanna bet it’s the dreaded plastic ontop of the heatsink
HOW MUCH
Also @thorny robin use the AIO pump header for you aio
did you peel the plastic off the copper coldplate of the aio
Yes
Oh my god i think i figured it out
And if its what i think it is then its gon be embarrassing
Oh my god thats embarrassing
I was using the wrong brackets
Should i worry about the other fans if its marking them as not running even though they are
@reef patrol
No wonder you were at 80
Were you using HDMI?
HDMI is nerfed to hell and back on Linux cause the HDMI Forum rejected AMDs code to actually make it work like it does on Windows
It's limited to 120Hz on Linux and doesn't support VRR

Only 2.0 support because HDMI Forum are assholes
But DP happily works with 4k240 even
DisplayPort masterrace

There is no lack of AMD drivers on Linux
They are baked into the very kernel itself
Idk what you tried to install tbh
Maybe Ubuntu
The only distro where you have to use 3rd party repos to install userspace drivers
....right
I forgot about that
Their "Manage Additional Drivers" app that's only useful to get the Nvidia drivers for you

Ubuntu garbage
Ubuntu should be rolling for non-LTS support channels.
You know what
Yes actually
Lts is extremely outdated by the time the next lts drops
Even more old than Debian stable
Being older than Debian stable is an achievement
Gemini speaking facts or lies?
I asked if turning off the EQ on my Fiio Echo Mini would have the same result to audio output as converting the song to 24bit
sounds like bs
What part?
that it would treat 24bit files different to 16bit files at a hardware level
because the hardware would not see the files directly but some firmware would handle data reading and talking with the audio hardware
idk what you even googled to get that reply
This is BS
There's no audible Difference between 16bit and 24bit audio
"it bypasses the internal software mixer and eq" like what
not to mention if you know the bit depth of files you play you already bias yourself and cant even test yourself if they sound better/worse
youd have to have someone else play them for you in an order they determine and dont communicate with you
When I enable an eq profile on this player when its playing a 24bit file, it doesn't activate the EQ until I skip to the next song
But when I enable an eq profile on a 16bit track, it immediately changed
(i cant tell btw and just guess when my girlfriend tests me with some new cds i ripped)
Not sure why that happens on this player
I'm using the 4.4mm jack
If that's making this happen?
yeah its a hardware/firmware limit
Aha
given its just in general specs i imagine its a hardware limit
Dual chips is a standard spec for a player?
I mean in general for DAPs
I was looking at a couple to pick between and this one was the only one in my budget with two chips and a 4.4mm output jack
then no. an audio player works with just 1 chip as well just means it has other limitations
Afaik
Having two means it can process the left and right channels separately?
thats one way 2 chips could be used yes
Hmmm
What other ways?
could also play different songs if you have multiple output jacks
It's interesting to see the player slowly load the album art on the display
It draws it line by line from the top of the image to the bottom
O ..
Yeh
Idk how this player would handle having IEMs plugged into both jacks at once
i think you also use dual dacs for like high res PCM stuff
I doubt I have any music that high quality on this
if they are just connected to the same output then they both play the same
i mean yes theyd be 32bit and like often 384k files
Very much lies because... current DAC chips can't handle 24-bit, let alone 32-bit, most you can get out of them is like 19 bits of resolution or so
For very precise circuits you get up to like 21 bits of precision
The difference voltage is so small at this point that it's really hard to control
Stick to 16b48 and you are fine
I see...
and dacs that can do more cost a fortune
like 4 digits
they can also use like 4/8 dac chips i think to get good outputs
I'm happy with my echo mini 🩷
Except if I want to change system settings on it I need to go back from the now playing screen and all the way back through the file structure I navigated until I reach the main screen
It's a little bit tedious at times to use
For the price that it's going for Echo Mini is amazing
Yeh
It also helps that it's hella adorable 🩷
Got the pink color but I probably should have gotten the teal as it would match my IEMs better
Get this thingy
This song is cursed xd
I really want an echo mini ;_;
Nah
Makes it bulky and I hate that texture
They are very nice value
Though you have to add in the cost of an SD card too since this thing only has 7.5gb of internal storage
....did you fall for that or did you buy it knowing it was fake?? Xd
I knew it was false, but I wanted a free adapter
The player only supports up to 256gb SD cards
Idk why that limitation exists
LOL OK FAIR
So I filed it was fake after receiving and running tests
And got fully reimbursed and got to destroy what I had
O nice
The Disc is also super cool looking
Not really bulky
And it has fake leather texture
I want one
grabby hands
But I just bought a triton fethead
Gotto recover for a bit
You have the pink one too?? Hek yeh
Is really nice
But is a pain if you have a lot of songs on it
I have 432 songs
I have almost full 256G card in it
Ooo is that real wood?

Ok that's super classy
I do wish the echo mini was metal
Would make it less fragile
For this price everything went into guts
True yes!
I'll get an echo mini after my current returns resolve
pretty cable
Dafuq is that big glittery cable?!
It's a kbdfans cable
That's a keyboard cable...damn that's a big boi
I got it from a guy secondhand who felt scammed by the glitters
Said the cable was too gay and girly lmao
I have a KA17
Built like a tank and sounds amazing
So I swooped in
....bruh xxdd
Too gay? smh skill issue
I paid 15 bucks for the premium cable
Hell yes xd
It has the textured metal too
Fragile masculinity is a win in this case for your wallet
I really like that
Same
I can't though
I have a dining table for my desk....
It sucks cause it's round
Hah
Damn nah
I really like that
dinosaurs
Why and how do you have a giant Wooting sticker? Xd
I need to 3d print a stand for my monitor/tablet
Came with my 60hev2 module
Oh xd
I put it on my monitor arm
I got a sticker with white/black W
And a bunch of switchies
I need to use my wrist rest
The table is really low compared to the chair I use and my wrists hurt ;_;
But I keep forgetting to bring it
pimk
O
I have a giant Celeste deskmat
Ooft
Interesting wallpaper...I like
Fancy drawing tablet
I want a screen tablet
But I currently have a really expensive non-screen one
Sakimi
I had this wallpaper for ages before I had my IPS
And I can't get myself to get rid of it due to work
I'm having a stroke trying to say that brand name
lower back pain
UwU is nice
I use it for music playback control
And for playing Muse Dash
To put next to my keeb
It's even funnier here, because in Polish three first letters of Huion sound exactly like a derogatory for a dick
.... OH XDDD
Is cool
So I can pinky macro
The angle is good
I got rid of mine because I never used it
I used the streamdeck macro system to swap all my audio inputs on a single button
I mean this one was quite cheap
It's Kamvas 13 Gen 3
I have an a4 intuos
Wocom
I liek Huion because they have really nice Linux drivers, with the same app as on Windows and all
Ooooooo
Paid the same two years ago
get a large tablet
Oh shit

That's an older one, yeah?
Oh hell yeah
I used to have one like that
yeah I don’t have it anymore sadly
intuos4 xl i think
Yeah
Other than my controller
All my things can be configured in Linux now 🩷
Can't configure the controller :'( only Windows and Android can do that
I used my 3ds as a controller before
Which I believe ran through linux too
Cuz nerds
I have a small pink wacom now
and a few old ones
I tried using my steam deck as a controller but idk how
Steam Link worked but was clunky
you can delete your own messages too
I'll visit you now
That's okay
6m is too long
mine is 6 and it’s just rolled up
Bring candy
Yeah, but look at the price Mega
3m is 50 euros from Roøde
6 is 75
This one was heavily discounted cuz green, last one in stock
I would pay more to have a suitable size 💀
And I also have this
No one wants the green
.... Sad
So it all fits
I just tie down half the cable anyway, idm, there's no quality loss between 3 and 6 anyway
Steam Link sucks
I have literally 1GbE cable straight from PC to my Android TV box, iperf reporting full speed and almost no ping
Moonlight/Sunshine works flawlessly with no delay, but for Steam Link it's apparently "poor connection"
Steam Link :(
I have a steam link still too
I think I paid 5 euros when they had the big blowout sale
When it was discontinued
What's the best way to use my deck as a controller on my desktop? Xd
I don't actually know sorry
I badly need the new one
I have the old one
It's basically Deck controller without the screen
But the haptic feedback is great
I wish I got the old one back in the day ...
Had no moneys :'(
I have the old one too
I don't like it for most games, but for arcade racing games is amazing
Oo
Love the old CTH-480
We are all weebs here.... Xd
tho i do use OTD
There's CFW for Bluetooth now
I lost my dongle aeons ago so couldn't use it anymore
But now I made it BT
Yeah, but you couldn't udpate the official firmware anymore
as it pointed at a now defunct site
so you needed to manually update with a CFW to update afaik
Something like that afaik
Steam Controller v1? You can still update it via Steam
Stadia Controller update website got taken down by now and is now maintained by community
Stadia stuff is like my second most favourite controller after DualSense

So - I got the AirPods instead of GPU yesterday in package
I have requested return and refund
I still didn't send the package back, but I have a refund already
lol, lmao even
Air pods instead of GPU???
often they'll just let you keep the wrong item
the administration costs outweigh the items value in a lot of cases
or they will charge you again if its not returned by date X

I swear that tablet is like Loss. I just recognize it immediately.
same
But yeah. China is notorious for this.
100% with a new customer doing such a large order for the first one
and then not doing a escrow payment
We've had similar issues - Which we thankfully avoided falling for by using trusted partners there who did manufacturing of their own, essentially acting as investigators and QC testers, before any money was sent for various components and parts.
done lots of stuff though china and it gets a bad rap because people dont look hard for real companys, and fall into the seo work of scammers
the actual real factorys in china will bend over backwards to make things right
It's such a big country. And rumors and reputation doesn't care about that.
You hear "china factories does this" and you're suddenly assuming 3 billion people are all collectively ripping people off 😄
during the tarffif thing we had missing parts to a 20k machine
and were worried about the part getting hit with tarrifs
the factory was like if you have passport we will fly you round trip, and have someone meet you at airport to had off part XD
and i should have done it
Makes sense. If they're a reputable company, they have a very vested interest in keeping that, and making sales as friction less as possible.
but the import broker also had someone traveling, so they brought it over
have lots of machinist friends that have bought china cnc stuff, and they have 10 times the service of us machines
they actually give you the manuals and service info
they dont force you to buy any parts from them
they are just like yeah thats such and such linear rail, or this bearing/seal
though to be fair my doosan is like that too. it came with a parts diagram that just has part numbers that arent doosan part numbers
haas would NEVER
Not having as much proprietary effect definitely helps with the service level. They know you could realistically go somewhere else, so they try to keep you happy and paying.
or doing an LC
lc just means the bank will cover if you fail to pay
LC is cleared once they provide proof of shipment, dose nothing for the issues that Roman had
fair, but that sort of depends on the exact sales contract that was negotiated.
LC is always on proof of shipment
I see
good luck getting a third party inspector to find the issues he had
maybe the copper coated steel in the first
but the other two where the top was good and bottom was bad, isnt getting cought on a LC inspection
escrow allows you to withhold most of the payment until it has arrived
a neutral 3rd party at that. that is willing to hold onto 40k eur
i mean most international banks will do LC, and there are tons of freight escrow companys
LC protects the seller more than the buyer
and escrow is just through neutral 3rd party?
yes
makes sense
you give the money to escrow
they provide the seller with proof
then once its delivered you release the money if its right
if not you provide the escrow proof that it isnt what is in the contract
then it goes to abatration though the escrow
I see
the copper plated steel would have gotten roman 100% back from escrow
the other 2 would have to calculate how many of the billets were real, and did the math
if the seller would have even agreed to do payment through one
thats how you know its sketchy
yeah
a good seller will just charge more for escrow, because its more of a hassel
yeah, I think thats reasonable
its actually a good sign if the seller gives you a wire discount, but dosent push for it
oh I see
but they also have zero issues with escrow/lc just charge more
ye
cash is always king, but a real company\ dosent care how they are paid, as long as they are paid.
@slate dagger the goat

That is a very bad idea whatchu wanna do
The fastest way is with converter in Strawberry
yeh xd

That explains the random script Lana sent to me
xd
Oh yeah, you can probably do that with ffmpeg as well
noe
no xd
frieren with a g u n
hehehe
the forward assist on your AR15 sits quite low smh
also the mag does not look to be seated
I also have this absolute peak wallpaper
I'm sorry but that wallpaper is fucking stupid
You find everything stupid
:p
but yes, this is a very silly wallpaper, using a gun makes no sense for her
its weebery, that's a given
I just think it's stupid, it's completely off character and makes no sense.
yes thats the point xd
Especially if you really appreciate her character
things rarely makes sense in any anime tbh
here we go, much better wallpaper
You see, that's daft and silly and that's fine
💀 I only notice the scope rn
transferring music to this player really batters the SD card 😢
Transferring anything to an SD batters it XD
ye ;-;
gonna take forever to transfer 14gb
why does it read it as a HDD???
Guess its related to how the echo firmware mounts the SD card when connected over usb
I thought I was just gonna use the evf but the flippy screen is so good, I’ve never had one before
ironically I do wish this camera was a little bit bigger though 💀 (specifically got it because it’s small)
Most readers will report SD as /dev/sda, so... HDD
dacts
fa is the dumbest thing on an ar
thats just a lvpo
Can you not get a faster SD card
weird model ig
i mean its a little stubby, but it looks right other than that
in this flash economy
You're gonna be paying a pretty penny for a UHS-2 V90 card
If I’m getting a new camera I would wanna get another sd card but I just looked at prices today and they’re so expensive
Unfortunately
But I've gotten used to expensive media
I think what I’m looking at only supports uhs 1 which is a bit cheaper
Makes sense
could get uhs2 for transferring photos faster, but a bit unnecessary for the price
UHS1 U3
Enough for 4k60
Samsung Pro Plus are really good and quite cheap still
I’ll have a look if I decide to get a second camera
Just for some reason Sony alpha don't like microSD in adapters, they want full SD
I’m using a uhs1 msd in my sony and it’s been fine, bursts still take forever to clear
not an alpha though
OH HELL NO
Why do DAPs have notches now?????
is this good

good album :D
All my favourite IEMs are under $1000
But they are also more than $50
wow......thanks for such a narrow range /s
I mean they also just buy a display
I like, never used micro SD in any of my cameras except DJI drones and gopros
otherwise I usually use the sony G tough cards
I have a card that doesn’t work, don’t know where I got it from, but I ripped it open and it’s just the contacts in there and no flash 💀
When I have my Echo Mini connected to my laptop in DAC mode to listen to the music on my laptop through it
Does it make a difference in anyway if I change volume on my laptop or on the player itself?
This implies you can theoretically send two different inputs per channel...
Because you can, use any advanced tool like qpwgraph and connect things however crazily you want
Seems Fedora upscales all audio to 48KHz by default, or is it pipewire that does that
Yes PW defaults to running the graph at that rate
I set my laptop volume to 100% and adjusted it to a comfy listenign level using my players controls instead, sound seems clearer now
maybe placebo

I somehow managed to break my keyboard shortcut to trigger MPV to play my local music collection
mpv --shuffle --no-video ~/Music is somehow broken now
supply and demand I guess?
Probably because they use older tech
They deleted it lol
The 3d print sites have tons of AI shit
So idk why there's so much backlash for ai stuff lol
Why bother buying a 3D printer if you are not willing to design something as simple as this lol
Stupid take honestly
It would be far better to fabricate something than to print it
i mean im concerned about fan exhaust temps, in combination with the pressure of a cat, i doubt filament could sustain that
If filament was used, the heat transfer would be abysmal and the cat wouldn't sit on it
unless you get some fancy filament sure but like the general stuff you have at home tends to deform at heat
annealing can be applied to PET thankfully
yeah that would work but at that point you can just bend a small alu plate
of course
Probably could make it out of wood
actually great thing with aluminum is it has high thermal conductivity to plastic
Then add a heating pad for extra heat
yeah metal definetly is preferable
Petg can
well petg is more resistant but iirc it deforms at 70c ish
Ye and hot air coming out isn't 70c
