They mentioned it in the context of the message being a scam, and thus in furtherance of the conversation that needed to be stopped.
with how bad domestic evs are id be happy about more innovation
they're doing very well in the EU iirc
I was gonna pivot to chatting about evs xD
That sounds good
you did pivot to talking about evs lol+
Does BYD guillotine your fingers?
If byd brings some production to canada i'd be happy
no thats a tesla feature im afraid
not that I know of
My area is mostly communal parking and they’ve slowly been installing some EV chargers.
Nice
Might be worth the leap to a fully electric car.
Byd cars do look nice
they even got rid of their recessed handles because china banned electrically operated recessed hangles
mechanical door handles are required in china now
recessed handles are banned
mechanical aswell?
they must protrude
ice
yes
ahh i see
i saw that they need to partner with a canadian company i think
honestly if its frozen most of the time my doors wont open doorhandle aside
pretty cool policy
so it only applies to current cars
only applies to new cars that is going to be made after 2027 ish iirc
but companies like BYD are being proactive and are already making the change
yeah that makes sense
Rivian seems an interesting choice as well. They support car keys in Apple Wallet
thats neat
im just not sure how those ev pickups rank in terms of licenses with weight limits
i saw a crash video with one
couldnt get the doors opened and had to get rocks to smash the window
interior already full of smoke
Quoting Dexerto (@Dexerto)

Discord will age-restrict accounts by default unless users verify their age via face scan or ID
Should probably be in memes but still
Lol i wonder if that really still works
i mean callum should be able to test it
I plan to later
Just waiting on Lulu to come home first
maybe lulu passes the age check as well
XD
Range is going to tank when you start hauling stuff with EVs, and charging while hauling a trailer isn’t much fun
im more concerned that they are so heavy i cant drive them with a normal car license without trailer tbh
I think they sold like 1000 F150 lightnings in Norway over a few years, everyone prefers diesel for that vehicle type
True, but I mean some EV suvs are almost 2.5t
or people like buying things that arent f150 sized behemoths
i mean iirc 3.7 tons or 4.25 tons is the new german law i think it applies to europe aswell
Newer ev suvs just keep getting heavier, I believe they’re reaching up to 3 tons full spec
yeah the hummer ev is at 4 tons iirc
Fiat 500 vs 2026 EV suv
uhh yeah
Thats a surprisingly small payload capacity
at this point i do not feel comfortable driving a small car on the road, we have a classic mini and id rather not
this as an EV would be nice to see
idk if they already do that
(mainly cause i rarely even see ~~SUVs ~~ light trucks ala F150 in europe)
I’ve seen smaller EV variants of that, but not something of that size
iirc they do yes at least the sprinter vans
this is based on the same base
Come north, 1 in 3 cars are a suv
yeah you do get them in ev spec
sorry didnt mean SUV but meant uh light duty trucks
like the f150 for example
Yeah they’re not as common, but I still do see them quite a bit
idk how i got stuck on SUV
ive seen 1 f150 ever outside of the US
with my own eyes in person that is
you can get imported ones
Isuzu D max, Maxus, Hilux etc. but they’re company vehicles 8/10 times
Ford is less common, but it makes sense cause they’re more expensive to buy and maintain
literally 99% of company trucks ive seen looked like the mercedes i posted earlier
lol
or if not open flatbed they were VW Caddy kinda ones
there's a ton of ford rangers here but F series are rare
The VW caddy style cars has started dying out a lot in, it’s mainly pickups or vans
https://youtu.be/NIXd3PEbsNk?si=8nkPEZ57-UAR60Ce
why has all of his videos recently been “everything sucks and everything’s fucked”

The last few weeks have been chaos fo...
we have a few ram 1500s driving around here
because its kinda true
SUVs are everywhere at least here in sweden
Yeah but it just doesn’t make the content any good to watch then
What else is there to make content of nowadays when the market is at its worst in a long time
like i later said my bad i meant light trucks
Prices sucks, products kinda sucks
my head just was stuck on SUV when typing that
because instead of wanting to see new hardware like the gpu in the new intel laptops people want to see rant content
new hardware is also not comming out
I see quite a lot of those light trucks too but its mostly work vehicles used by companies
like construction, plumbing, carpenters etc
intel got new gpu ip in panther lake thats newer than their dGPUs, its beating apple in some areas, but GN doesnt do laptop stuff so rant it is
id hate if companies started using american light trucks that all look like f150s or clones of them
but they also drive smaller work vans like vw transporter/caddy or similar models by other brands
i mean the vw amarok is a thing
“Small work van” >Transporter
have never seen one myself
seen a couple
Transporter is pretty big if you ask me
when i worked at a social thrift store i did drive an old sprinter van it was kinda fun
also seen some US pickup trucks but they're relatively rare
I’m surprised that those old 2.1l vitos got some punch in them
i mean ours for sure did not, i was flat out most of the time trying to keep up with the ford transit van driven by my coworker
Rivian will start selling the R2 and R3 in the UK next year
fuckin 3.5 tonne monstrosities
Imagine those in London
ulez compliant
would not want those on our roads
SUVs and crossovers are everywhere 😔
Although
I absolutely HATE the blindingly bright LED headlights
Need to wear my sunglasses as a pedestrian, honestly.
i should install osram nightbreaker in my 90s halogen housings
i have fully tinted rear glass and a sizeable rear wing but they still blind me from behind somehow its crazy
Don’t you love when you see a car Kia picanto from 2010 with led bulbs in their reflector headlights
They blind me from my side mirrors
I'm glad that I don't drive these days, especially in the evenings.
Maybe I'll get a car again one day.
even if i flip down the mirror i get blinded
i can see how that would work eu wide but one market only?
soo i should get a new SSD or what should i do i got my 2nd Watchdog Violation
every company should just boycott the UK
Send them back to the stone age
not the ram not this day and age
well if you guys are too incompetent to regulate your market others have to
the US corporate model claims to love healthy competition but it only lays the groundwork for monopolies to happen
i how often in sucession?
and the more monopolies we get the worse things get for both consumers and other companies
dont forget that weirdo in the uk is currently suing steam because they have too much marketshare
well I didn't claim all their attempts at regulation were sound, I can see where they're coming from on that but I don't think its the right approach
i don't know when my first was
steam does have a bit too much market and overall influence but at the same time its not valves fault the alternatives are way way worse for the end consumer
if only some companies put their obsession with flogging their customers dry of money aside for a change maybe we could have better alternatives and a healthier market
does your ssd pass the smart tests?

might be a bad windows update that messed up tbh
not a bad idea to check if DISM brings up anything
my pc keeps waking up right after I put it to sleep but powercfg lastwake says it's the powerbutton waking it 🤨
something shorting out the power pins maybe????
maybe static discharge?
maybe, I have no clue what's doing it, I can use the power button normally to put it to sleep or wake it and have no problems with it turning on or off randomly
uhm idk how to do that LOL
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
In cmd
thankies @unkempt lake
soo this has been stuck there for 24 minute
Yeah can take a while
Yeah after that it came up with this
Sodium Ion Batteries have had a lot of press lately about how safe they are compared to Lithium Ion batteries. Is this really true? Are Sodium Ion Batteries flammable, how do they handle being punctured. I put the theories to the test & the results shocked me and they will shock you too.
Safety Warning: These tests were done under strict super...
Is 25h2 the performance depleting version?
Well, I got data, but no estimated_age in there
uh are you sure you already got it? usually it takes a couple of days
oh check predicted_age and predicted_gender
did you select all checkboxes on the data?
Only account data
might be in something else idk, I'll check once I get mine I selected all boxes

My guess is 26
Gonna do this on my alt
duude even putting the sleep timeout to 5min it just wakes up again right as it goes to sleep 😭 😭
Found this, what a neat sd card reader design
i like bambu labs printers but i do not like the fact they are not open source
I would say there is a very good reason for them to do so
easier to manage a few skus with potenially slight variations in some instances for exmaple
Also with how the overall product is there is not much more for extensive modifications.
Even more so with the a series hotend and the rest of toolhead.
There were some aftermarket hotend options for the p1/x1, no real place for it either.
Found a usb c port on my laptop. my keyboard works on it but not a storage device (weird). but is usb c faster for the keyboard?
If not i'd just use the port to charge my phone
USB C on its own means absolutely nothing
fair
If it is 3.0 or now known as 3.2🤨 that should have a nicer ceiling as prior the USB 2.0 was the tottering at the peak
i wish i could get it to work w my external ssd adapter. for some reason the usb c port can charge my phone and my keyboard works on it... BUT it cant detect storage smh
i dont know what one it is. im on some asus laptop with a ryzen 3 3250u.
good thing i got my 2 tb ssd before the price hike tho. it was 120$
no keyboard needs anything more than usb2
2 tb pcie 4.0 7000 read/write w/ 2 gb ddr4
You should have an adapter for USB a in the box
yes in the wooting box. i have it
any idea why my storage device wont work in that usb c port? for that it could give faster speeds
80HE for instance has 850mA rating
yea my usb ports are not 3.0 id reckon
theyre aroudn that 2.0 thing i think
im on a low end laptop
80he is just fine on usb2?
Well that assumes you hit all the keys at once with tachyon
And 8khz polling and scanrate
Probably is, in typical usage yeah
i constantly use the 8k polling. i bought it for that and the fact of that its made nicely
no like I use it on a usb2 slot and its not having any issues
i use 8k polling all the time so im assuming i should use the usb then
I believe you
no you can use literally whatever you want it doesnt matter
unless you press like 50 keys at once and need that at 8k maybe
Well you will never notice 8k polling on a keyboard vs lets say 2k. On a mouse it changes more
my computer is the bottle neck. LOL. keyboard under actual usage though works good
8k polling is nice tho how i barely have to tap the keys
gaming wise its useful.
also anyone have keycap reccommendations
Though they did write this is all
i want the max rgb ones that also look normal under less rgb
i have the black ghost case too
im on a basic razer basilisk x hyperspeed mouse that takes a double aa battery and my wooting 80he
yeah true
iirc the 2HE consumes even more
cauz it has more RGB LEDs
Hmm not sure on that one
Though I do have one laying around I check later
600mA it looks like
idrk if anyone has done this, but. by making my default mp3 player spotify i can open spotify w one of my keys
anyone know how possible it would be to turn some of the keys on my 80he into a tiny macro board
hmm, you want macros? wootility just offers dks, but you can use 3rd party softwares to set up macros afaik
Yeah wootomation is depreciated
you mean the arrow keys?
No. Above them.
Yeah with third party apps like AHK that's possible
eh personaly i prefer my 3d printer to run whatever software i tell it to
That there is different story
For example
I do not think we have foc in klipper
i mean my ender 3 runs a custom firmware that enables auto bed leveling etc
But there is a good chance the service extruder bambu labs uses is foc controlled
You get that with most printers these days
You wanna see a crazy version
?
for sure but like i compiled it myself etc
yeah
Ah you wanna compile it fair enough
i mean its just the tinkering that i like aswell with 3d printing
that beeing said ill for sure convert to direct drive , just got the caddy to do so
The world’s first 3D printer surface scanner for a sub-micron bed mesh in seconds. https://beacon3d.com/
thats impressive
It also does much lower force contact
Than any loadcell out there
9g of force
But....
but in this household we use the finest aliexpress solutions
It only works with klipper
And the firmware on it proprietary that even has its own module
That works
Just play around with tension
yeah it was 3$ im considering running a lighter stepper
You can check out a pancake 17
hmm yeah that might be a decent option
It is the biggest one can reasonably do
for me 3d printing just opens up a whole lot of cheap part reproduction capability
Otherwise do servo
Definitely brings fabrication more in reach to everyday people
yeah i mean i paid 50€ for the printer from a friend, imo a very good deal
Wanna know something sad?
hmm?
yeah i mean he has a bigger core xy printer, got fed up trying to sell on german craigslist so
yeah kleinanzeigen its full of scammers and time wasters
A damn shame
He might be better off honestly figuring it out maybe offering services to print like a company parts
Make the money back on the machine at the very least
i study 3d design he studies mechanical engineering i constantly tell him lets make prototyping etc
I spent some time in cad today, and doing more gantry designing
return of investment on a 3d scanner imo would be super fast
Possibly
The thing is though, they make point cloud or a mesh
Not a parametric model
no but i can pretty much work with a mesh
It is hollow inside👻
But alright great if you can
here is the printer he designed himself by mainly just stealing designs from other printers
Oh yeah you did share that
To be honest if you go on any diy printers site or GitHub
You will see credits to other projects
yeah i mean he did get a donor printer and then went from there which makes sense
I told him the same
I was like listen bro im not an expert on stability but thats gonna rip off eventually
At least he made the attempt
He did redo them after i told him to reinforce them
A guy sold a near brand new ender 3
Cuz he could not get it to work, I got it to work in like 8 minutes
Well good
Like i got to the ender and in like 5minutes of tinkering with it i got a decent benchy its not rocket science
I never ran anything too fast
Perhaps when I get my largest machine running I will optimize for that
Me neither i run stock speeds im just trying to get reliable prints
The slower you print the better technically
There is a reason industrial machines print slow
Yeah i have time i just want good quality parts
Hot and slow for best mechanical properties
Yeah im currently dialing in the temp for petg
i run it at 244 that seems to be fine
Hi! I encountered a small problem when transporting the keyboard. I didn't receive a 6-inch rubber foot. How can I trust the company when I spent almost 400 euros on it thx. 🤔?

Mistakes happen
Yes
I dont need i just want let them know what company he are.
The issue, they cannot possibly know without someone saying so.
These keyboards are fabricated and assembled in Asia.
By the time they are in the warehouse the packaging was already sealed
It would cost a lot in QC to have the regional warehouse unpack them all
Inspect all the elements being present and accounted for.
I wanted to know if you also encountered problems.
Ah
I melted some switches when cleaning them, sent wooting an email and it got sorted out.
technical quality control is crap I think at Wooting.
Have you given a chance to use the keyboard even yet?
I use it cut somtime with 10 inch skate
I mean sure it is not top tier boutique, but if you bought the keyboard I imagine you want the gaming software features and the zinc alloy was fancy on a budget.
I need to go is late 😅
I mentioned to you how much money it cost me.
I made a little announcement so you can see how things can go wrong when you pay a lot.
Unless you pay a master artisan, welcome to the world of mass production.
It can go wrong even if u pay even less
Even a Ferrari can have issues coming out of the lot. If you're not even willing to reach out to our support to receive any missing accessories, I'd argue that's not our fault.

Wild that he refuses to contact support
I'd argue that Ferrari comes with even more issues
A high end gaming keyboard is a luxury product, not an essential tool.
Understood, we are checking.
Must be the water
“Can you answer my question?”
outrage is clearly the goal here not fixing an issue
I am so upset and will tell the world how upset I am.
o woe is me for i have unjustly suffered at the cruel mercy of fate
Please witness this hand I have been dealt and share in my woes
i got a straight
i got a gay
you got a mirror? nice
I use tenor still, just need to copy link and Discord does the rest
do you have like an extension or do you just browse tenor on the web lol
I have it open on second tab
No extension yet iirc
But I heard they are experimenting also with Klipy, and it's basically Tenor 2.0
Calsy gay? Tell me something new
How gay of you to get a gay
is it worth it upgrading to the takeover if i own the 60 he
im getting kinda bored off it
Do you want more keys? Do you consider the pre-modded state value? If so, yes
if been thinking about getting it because of the extra keys and the 8k hz. my a key on the 60 he is very unresponsive
i think its a yes then
Should I buy HDD's now or wait till they're cheaper 😅
I just bought a 14TB refurbished one... so not the best person to argue for or against 😄
1tb is tiny these days.
cant event fit phone pics on that for very long
My 3TB is old and full. So I figured I'd buy something larger. And the price difference between a new 8TB and a refurbished 14TB was basically non existent.
I play maybe 2 games
don't buy 1TB HDDs please
yea but then get more than 1tb

whoopsies
It's cool and all until it rains
yeah, incidentally also melts some kinds of metal
I wonder if reMarkable Paper Pro is worth it
i doubt it
I'm looking for some nice e-reader that would have color (though mono is fine) display, possibly a pen and not be a Kindle
Why not a Kindle?

I don't want to touch anything Amazon
iPad Mini

Does it make a difference for 80 GB videos? Could they stutter or something if ran on an HDD? Or how does this work, is it buffered?
wat
not even remotely an issue for playback
I think they mean editing aka random access for big files
well that would mostly be sequential and cached or cpu heavy
Onyx Boox Go 10,3 looks interesting
definitely monochrome eink for the win unless you go gallery 3, I had the boox go color 7 but if I was buying one again I would go b&w
Video editing is not slow storage.
Video PLAYBACK is.
Can't really buffer a full video all at once for searching.
@grok what is the data rate of a dvd?
at least 2
Maybe even more than 3.
4K UHD Blu-rays can reach 92–144 Mb/s
I really like and love Wooting
damn both
At that point you're beyond the average user though.
I saw the price difference and thought... yeah, I'll be fine with b&w
Depends on the film, some can be 50-60 in many scenes.
144megabit/s is easy for hdds
they do 100megabyte/s
Wooting is the best keyboard I've ever used
are membrane keyboards modable?
yes
foam mods mainly i guess?
keycaps
I was thinking more like 3x 22tb 😭
If you have a work discount, WD directly beats all of these
About 18eur/tb or so for a 22tb, if you shuck externals it's way less but also more risks
maybe i lowk shouldve just balled and went for the 64gb cudimm
and in case ur wondering- this was ironically the cheapest 48gb kit
48GB will be fine, unless you're doing some very intensive AI or Video Editing work professionally tbh.
I have the regular non, Royal kit in 2x32GB @ 6000, and I only got it cause I originally had a single 32GB stick in an emergency upgrade from AM4 to 5 and needed to save money where I could. 64GB wasn't much more expensive than 48 at the time, so I went with it.
nah bcs im on ARL and also want to OC
oc memory? mochos instability for 1-2% gains?
if it isnt on the verge of exploding you’re doing something wrong
intel wants some decent ram oc or your frametimes are kinda shit
so on arl you want ot spend time on it
I might be either IMC limited bcs shit bin or board limited
I could boot 8400 on h16a but on this h24m in really struggling to do that
with the h24m im also ram limited so fk
ill try again with h16a bcs that was def running into heat problems
how much did they cost?
2 lungs
200 SGD after selling my 32GB 6KC30 kit
I need more ram for VMs and applications
My dear @discord, your app will boost it's priority to real time and it will cause high frametime fluctuations in CS2.
︀︀Forcing it's priority to always normal with process lasso, will drop the frametime to normal values.
To quote them damn kids. What is blud yapping about. Discord is set to Normal prio like any other normal app.
What does this mean
update
trying to find an odyssey (neo) g9 with 2display ports seems impossible in the netherlands
Is that the OLED or the IPS/VA model?
anything new?
one way to find out
Security innit
hopefully they finally fixed the airplay bug on ios, so annoying
the yes one
neo is va i think
my current non neo g9 is also VA but not available anymore
and all the new ones only have 1 displayport sadly
I think they're just discontinued at this point
but why
guys why cant i remap the fn key to this (its bottom right corner by default)
like i have it where i want it right now in the program but when on key tester its still fn on the bottom right
look through your advanced keys in wootility
i see ty
🗣️
I see it working honestly
For someone like you who always rebuys new shit
Yes
For someone who buys and wants to own their stuff
No
Don't you buy nintendo products?

Nintendo products release like once ever 8 years or so
If I lived closer to Dashi it would be 90% of the time me trying to ragebait them
and the other 10% me stealing MouMou
You can just ask nicely to pet moumou
has anyone had the issue where when using the gamepad (an analog profile), moving the control stick can control default windows apps? like if I type S into the windows searchbar it'll also move down with the S input and then I won't be hovered on the search bar anymore
just wondering if that's normal behaviour or if there's a way to get rid of that, cause I plug in my fight stick and don't have that issue
its also not steam controller, I exited steam and same thing
Not only can you rent a shit device, it also has Hinge problems as a feature!
So cute! I want a cat like that too.
She's great
Ok this is pretty cool
Must be new phone time again
lol the Samsung event is in like 12 days I think
I got about another 3 years on my phone before I think about a replacement
I might just wait and see how the iPhone fold turns out later this year
I shall wait for a 19 Pro Max
Logitech supstrike just launched and they launched it WITH a patent. If only wooting did this when they launched the 60he, would they get way more people into their brand.
We... we do have patents though.
I don't think you understand what a patent does exactly.
why are there so many clones then?
Because... the 60HE builds on an existing standard? The GH60.
What we can patent is implementation of switches and sensors, firmware.
I'm talking about the hall effect
We didn't invent hall effect.
hmmmm not sure what the superstrike uses as switches, I wonder what exactly Logitech is patenting and whether or not cheap clones are able to be produced that do what Logitech does, what do you think?
if you didn't patent hall effect, then your patent was realistically ineffective at preventing clones
We can't patent what we didn't come up with. But we can patent and trademark aspects of it - our unique implementations of our code and other things.
No amount of patents will prevent clones. Chasing clone makers in China is a losing battle. We compete on quality.
I also wanted to point out that if Logitech's patent is ineffective, Wooting should absolutely produce a competitor for this mouse, although I know that most of Wooting's capabilities are for keyboards.
and i don't think it is an easy thing to do
I'm sure many people thought HE keyboards were a gimmick at first too. I watched a few videos and read a few comments, and the consensus seems to be that this new Logitech mouse IS a game changer.
all the people i trust with mice have been of differing opinion
To me it honestly really shows how much people shill logitech if anything
If I were to be honest, from what I hear, the quality differences are marginal. People buy Wooting not because quality but because these consumers have more money and want the best, but I argue you guys are not capturing for maximum market share
Logitech just made clicks tgat have hard to tes latency so the results look insanely good
People buy wooting for the software and longer support
you may be online too much in the tiktok/discord crowd. They very much do not represent the general population
If you buy a random chinese he board you probably will not see a firmware update and if it is buggy your board will stay buggy
discord enthusiast groups are mostly young folks with very different values, so their judgement on why people buy things is a bit skewed
Always interesting to read yet another thread on Reddit about how their cheap knockoff board bricked itself after a month, and the seller refuses to help.
I have yet to hear a single review that says wooting keyboards are significantly better in quality, though please send me a review where that is the case. I always hear "it's very close to the wooting".

oh really?
people buy wooting because you get real support, ease of use, and top tier software/firmware updates for a very very long time, all packaged into a high quality overall package
send me some of them, I'm actually happy that is the case
Just send me some examples that justifies it then, and I'll be quiet about the wooting case
if you're consuming 'reviewers' on youtube, it may do you good to have a look at who these reviewers are
I think the funniest ones were tge led and he shared ic package ones tgat just grilled themselves
Build quality wise alone wooting isn't exactly good value
It really is all about what you get outside the physical keyboard
yeah judgement solely on build is a bit of a warped look at what people look for in keyboards, and also a warped view on pricing/how things get built
I'm ngl, I barely use wooting software after I initially set it up
Wooting is also super modding friendly so if you feel it is lacking in any way you can take matters into your own hands
you use wooting software every time you touch your keyboard. Software includes firmware updates that improve consistency/performance of your keyboard
people confuse software with = the thing i only use to set up board, but forget software includes the thing running your keyboard at all times
Yea but you could set it up the way you want to, there will be updates to your board for at least a couple years and if you do have an issue you will get support
I also don't feel any difference from when I first got the the keyboard to now, so not sure how the firmware argument holds, unless there are examples with metrics of what you've improved that I can't feel because it was so well integrated?
took them ages to allow pcb mounted stabs but at least they have them now
sure, here's the rtings article showing how switch selector took us to 0.02 true deadzone
some snippets to compare performance
these performance improvements were direct result of the recent switch updates to firmware
column one is wooting, column 2 in first photo is the venom, and in second photo is the TMR fun60 ultra
we beat both of those via recent updates to accuracy and deadzone
Nice
not including the bug fixes that constantly get applied, which do not happen with same regularity on a lot of boards
for example techless found the drifting actuation issue in recent review of one of the comparisons
Good to know thanks for sharing
that bug existed and might still exist in that keyboard because they don't have a full firmware team working on those things - it just gets fixed whenever the oem they get firmware from gets around to doing it
yeah makes sense
so when people say things like 'wooting quality is shit for the price', they forget wooting literally has on staff teams of firmware/software devs that are priced into what you pay
Which usually is never cause the oem is already selling a newer hardware revision
sure if you only look at the raw build material it may not be the best, but then you include everything else like support, constant updates, 4 year warranty, workers who are paid fairly with proper benefits - and you get things that people are happy to pay for
oh no
it just usually doesn't apply to a lot of younger gen folks who are at the stage of life where they only care about min/max money spend, which is fine, but plenty of other consumers are happy to pay more for a company that does those other things
i know, it's tragic. I think we see that in every 2nd or 3rd review lol
You need to send them this diagram by Tak, Jed
strap is way too complex please make it easier
what if you connect a strap to a strap to a strap and have a really long multi color chain
patent this idea and make millions
so true
I'm in this category and I think for me, as long as there is quality differences between wooting and cheaper competitor/clones, I'm okay buying wooting, even if there is a premium of $100-200. But up until now, I had the perception it was the same and it was killing my post-purchase perception of the brand.
Then you've created a christmas tree decoration.
just need to be able to buy straps on the store now
it's partially on us to fix those mistakes in how people view things, cause people just don't know (like how our deadzone is 0.02 now and that we outperform the TMR keyboard), but content team is a bit busy so a lot of things that we want to make to educate people on these things haven't been made yet
I see I see
i think generally if people know all the details they're quite understanding and realise that wooting does a lot. But without it being shown to them one by one, people don't realise a lot of things
I see now, honestly yeah it's very much a visibility problem, I can understand that.
I think a dev blog or something of that nature would be amazing.
your average 'peripheral reviewer' is also not the type who is going to deep dive into those aspects because they're usually young and are just peripheral enthusiasts who are being sent free boards to promo
so most reviews end up just a 'build quality' and 'value' review instead of a full indepth look at things
true
ive never watched one of your videos so im curious to know what do you do differently
i peeped it a little bit and ill fs watch your stuff you seem very well educated
i'm not a reviewer, i work for wooting
I used to do youtube in the past in other content areas
oops
Most reviews are just people reading the spec sheet and sucking up to the sponsor
ESPECIALLLYYY the ones on tiktok
cuz its so easy to monetize off of
the peripheral review space is a bit wacky
i like optimum hes pretty good with his reviews
there's entire networks of reviewers whose entire job is they get sent whatever item, they post a positive review, sometimes not even on youtube but just a twitter review, then sell the product 2nd hand after
it's a bit silly really
do those reviewers get good commissions based off their sales or is usually js puny and a free peripheral
they're usually very young or live in cheap countries or both
so the amount they earn from commissions/coupon codes and selling the peripheral is enough for them
when i was super into the custom keyboard stuff i watched a lot of like randomfrankp squashyboy glarses stuff like that
@lofty pivot any plans on the company roadmap for a high performance mouse? I mean the brand to me, is positioned as a high performance gaming peripheral brand, this seems like a probable step forward.
never say never, but basically if we ever did a mouse we'd have something game changing for it, so until we have something like that we wouldn't do it
wooting is a bit unique in that we don't really just release products to push profit/revenue higher, otherwise we'd just launch a ton of simple products, we want the product we release to be something we can say improves the market
would you try to do something like logi with the HE clicks
innovation is never easy though
i think it'd be neat to do a mouse like that, but i'm not in product side so i don't have anything to do with if wooting makes a mouse like that or not - plus our expertise isn't in mice right now either, so there'd be a lot of growing pains
wooting staff have also stated in the past that since they only want to do cool new stuff and innovation they will not talk about it until it's ready to go cause otherwise competitors are gonna copy/try to ride the hype train
not surprising since wooting is one of the biggest in the kb scene
if not the biggest
Razer did a rip off of wooting like with SOCD. Time for wooting to rip off logitech
LOL i think thats the difference between razer and wooting. wooting innovates, others follow
i do think the idea is neat, although i have questions about the 30ms claim because that sounds too high. I want to see mice with better shapes try it out
hey logitech innovates as well, in how to make the most unreliable pieces of hardware possible
dont diss on my somehow functioning ancient g502
innovation implies that they keep getting better at it (making worse products)
i agree but i mean they have succeeded by being a mainline on shelves and stuff, the basics + a lil more + a name gets u a long way when ur that big
i could see it being more like a 5ms gain than 30ms personally, but even that i think is a fine new thing that makes clicks more consistent
8k mice seem pointless, but if they actually had good battery life when set to 8k it might be used more
i'm not paying $180 though for a mouse with a shape i don't like just for less pre-travel in my click
my dad still uses a cheap AA battery powered logitech mouse from like 15 years ago
new meta leaked
Just use it wired with FlexCord, benefit of 8k and lowest latency/best performance, feeling like wireless.
Hm... this is interesting and noble as a mission but in practice, the more funding you have, the better your product becomes.
well the thing is it would divide our time too and there's some growing pains with any new product category, so we'd like to focus on products we think we can both innovate in and grow company at the same time
not always, just look at all the big brands out there nowadays
wouldnt a good way to grow to be releasing something new/out of your zone and has good quality to kinda steer traffic your way too
Yes, but they can't really innovate in that space right now, so no steering to speak of.
wooting can push for profit and use funds/profit differently than the other big brands? At least that's what I imagine
now, the reason quality has been declining for ages with big companies is probably that they are publicly traded and they did the math that lowering quality impacts their sales less than the savings (in the short term at least) so they are forced by investors to make their stuff more and more shitty
plus there's some level of 'do you really want to be the company that puts out an artisan clone and superlight clone just to increase revenues' or do you want to focus on making cool stuff instead of just focusing on profit margin
Exactly
every company has to worry about profit margin, but it's a balance of profit increase vs making products you love making
i think wooting should take my advice and make a case using my ideas and make a gmk keycap set that fits what i like
I just don't really see the benefit of treating these two as mutually exclusive, I feel like putting these two together will 10x wooting's market share and also 5x its innovation
well we only have x amount of team members is one big thing
"only have x amount of team members" will be solved with more funding
now you go down the rabbit hole though
many a company have screwed themselves also by going down that rabbit hole until they become a souless husk that is pumping out cheap crummy products and eventually is sold to some big brand
bigger team means more overhead + non direct work related stuff (meetings etc) = less efficiency and ability to pivot quickly
there's balance to all things
That sounds like a leadership skill issue rather than some inevitability
jed what is the main objective of wootings products
also there's risk to just blindly expanding
lets say certain issues happen and a product doesn't do as well or market contracts
you now have a ton more staff and overhead and less runway
more people = more of the same idea = less idea of personal innovation ideas = slop
make cool stuff that changes the industry in some way, with a cool group of people who believe in the products we make, but that's just my interpretation
not always, but it is definitely a risk if you only hire people that are exactly like you
30ms is straight up impossible, that is more than the entire latency of a fast modern mouse
they're claiming 30ms reaction speed or something like that
Realistically if you could properly test it, it shouldn't rewlly be any faster
But they just made a mouse that is really hard to test properly
but the reason i'm skeptical is because the pre-travel of a mouse is so much less than a keyboard, so 30ms of saved pre-travel time sounds way too much
Everything I have seen with human benchmarks seems to indicate that it isn't faster at all
It's a fraction at best
You also typically preload a mouse button with your finger
Which is not really a thing with it since it doesn't actually have a bump lol
i do personally think believing in the products you make and enjoying the work you do tends to play into things too @kindred hornet - where people enjoy working at a company like wooting and it means the work they do is better too
and that is also something that gets hard to keep when you company is infinitely expanding
sandfall games mindset
This is their "proof" of 30ms btw
i agree, and thats why big companies usually just put themselves in a thinking box when theres no thinking box at all
"All mice on the market" meaning the dav4p and it only being tested in one specific way
its like when you talk with a group of friends, you have more fun and ideas than when you speak to a crowd of people
i'm fairly sure that test also has superstrike on the lightest setting which no one is using
because everyone who has one said the lightest setting was too light
I'm skeptical of all the critique in this channel about the effectiveness of the superstrike because videos say that "I can feel the difference in hours, not weeks", very enticing.
It also has their actuators hovering above the mouse
Especially since none of you guys own it or tried it yet, so this is all speculation?
It also does not specify if the dav4p is running 8khz, us not in lift off mode etc
im getting mine tomorrow, so i will for sure try to remember to give an honest opinion aswell as my settings used
im not sponsored or big by any means, so im not gonna try to extravaganza it
The shape sucks ass imo, and i know i will hate how the clicks feel
i'm sure there's a difference. Mostly in pre-travel and consistency, i just don't buy that it's 30ms different. I just think it's a nice overall quality of life improvement in consistency without worrying about the pre-travel of a particular mouse (once more mice have this tech)
I am very doubtful of their latency gains since they are impossible unless that thing can make signals travel back in time
And it also is extremely ugly
tag me please, when you do try it
i'll borrow a superstrike and play around with it from a friend, but not something i'm spending my money on until it comes to a mouse shape that I actually want
I would like to try one, if it feels anywhere close to like magic trackpad or iPhone 7 home button I think it could be pretty nice
add me rq so i can see ur user at the top and remember
If you don't have a tactile bump you can't really accurately preload it
shape I feel like is something that you can get used to, I have heard mushy feelings on the click, but the performance impact outweighs that
added
I had the original gpw back in 2019 and already hated the shape
i honestly have high hopes for it because i do like that kinda stiffer feeling than the regular click so
you get used to shape but certain grips just perform better with right shapes
i fingertip only, so for me large mice just don't move how i want them to move
Was thinking the same, also hoping it can be implemented into a lighter mouse, not just a nicer shape.
I'll also just @ you tmr so you remember
ok bet
same hoping they make a 2c version
ngl i personally think the gpw is legitimately one of the worst shapes that is currently relevant
i'm surprised they didn't at least use the smaller 2c shape
especially funny since it would be very easy to do
I am not even sure how much of the tooling is actually new geometry
i think a mouse that is able to be taken apart and customized to length, witdth, grip, etc. would be cool
my friend wants it for the almost silent clicks, but he only wants ergo
maybe they should make a dex version too
the idea being u js need the main board
Just buy a mouse that fits you
Orbitalworks pathfinder 🚬
Customizable mouse concepts just never end uo making sense to buy
fuck ur right i forgot abt that
When you could just buy a mouse in the shapr you want
some people dont know which mouse shape they want and because of that they have to spend more money than needed to find one they see fit best
And it will probably still end up being cheaper and absolutely less jank
maybe, but thats the problem with most mice: shape
if theres a creative way to work around it, then that idea woulld blow up
there is no creative way to beat physics
A shell is just gonna be the strongest if it is essentially a dome
The more you split ut up the weaker it gets
🤷♀️ besides shape, theres always something to exploit, fix, and grow on almost anything
This is the kinda shit your boss tells you when asking for something inpossible
Or just get a custom personal made mouse for 1,000$
1k won't afford you an injection tool
I know PMM does 1 custom mouse a month I think
But idk what the price is like

My honest reaction is
Oh no a company lied to us anyway
But they only claimed that amount of privacy for the facial scans, IDs were always uploaded
And nowhere does it say facial scans have changed unless they remove that option
yeah thats just a case of scam_nation not understanding words or logic
you can do a facial scan locally and compare it to a dataset that estimates age
you cant copy a database of state ids to check if its valid to your local pc
There’s also a chance it won’t ask for you to verify correct?
Depending on your previous activity and stuff
most people wont be asked to verify
it will only ask you if it estimates you to be underage
so dont say 67 too often
Say 69 instead

Windows 11 update breaks all ASUS native software on the ROG Xbox Ally
︀︀
︀︀A recent Windows 11 update has caused ASUS Armoury Crate to stop launching on ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds.
︀︀
︀︀Windows Security's Smart App Control feature is incorrectly flagging the software as untrusted, blocking essential functions like performance modes, TDP adjustments, button mappings, and updates
finally a decent w11 update
classic windows moment
after cleaning my kb wooting decided to turn my rgb brightness to 0% and when i started the pc i got a mini heart attack 😭
ah so i can use fake id images
cause all the info is basically blurred anyway
fake id with a fake ai face
and a fake dob
tony is now called mclovin
Don't most programs detect when trying to edit id
have you heard of paint
man i swear discord cant win with this
people will just find a way around it anyway no matter what they do OR theres a dataleak and the "deleted" IDs show up
The latter already happened
i mean again from this
yes and discord doesnt care if people find ways around it
discord doesnt want your data, discord wants to make sure they dont get hit with a fine of you didnt do enough to keep people safe
It’s almost like there should be some kind of digital ID with an API platforms can integrate for these ID checks.
this is it actually. since they want to go IPO having these "features" will make it more attractive as investors like the prospect because it fends off fines
its a cover your ass when it comes to harmful online content
doesnt matter if they IPO or not you dont want fines as a private company either

should i be worried about these? those are automatic ?_?
why do you think you should be owrried about updates
i never got hit with notification before
its just updates
oh ok, over paranoia been watching too many malware videos
first google result about what it is would've also shown you its just the windows tool to look out for any potential issue
checked reddit and there wasnt a definitive result+it was at 98% already when i opened my pc, it was shut down while i was asleep
thx tho i can use my pcin peace now
Guys how do u clean ur keycaps?
Spit and elbow grease
clean??
(warm water and soap)
Take them all off, put them in a bowl.
Then with a brush wash them all individually with Mark's suggested formula
If you have a salad tosser, that works great
Depending on the weather outside; you may have to use a hair dryer: if it is too cold to let them dry on a towel.
dry inside
i just buy a new set every few months
and then i eat the old ones with some soup
BigMoneyAFK
Watch out with heat, you can easily warp them.
it will not take long to dry em out, but gotta use your head
I will wash mine in the ultrasonic cleaner 👴
alphabet soup fr
I kinda wanna get a camera again 👴
do you have any clue on why, in some keyboards, if you hold two keys it will spam both (for example holding w and d would result in wdwdwdwdwdwdwdwdwdwdwdwd) and in others it will only consider the last clicked key despite holding both (ex : wdddddddddddddd)? is this a keyboard setting? is this a pc setting? is there any way i can set my wooting to do wdwdwdwdwdwdwd instead of wddddddddddd ? i hope this makes sense to at least someone 😂
isnt htat just enabling snappy tappy?
i think ive had a simialr issue when trying to strafe from left to right by holding down A, then holding down D it wont strafe right
i think ii just need to look at the settings properly
@empty wren direct drive converion is in progress ill just need a new setup for the leveling sensor, my friend is going to print me a new bracket, and a new fan shroud, i have yet to find a proper meme sticker for that
ah the old creality hotend
there is at least one good aspect of it, the faces that gets mounted and screwed on
see the wrong section on the top, at one point groove mount was acceptable
supposedly its already a nicer hotend than stock, but i mean it works
now a lot of stuff is pendulum mounted with a few screws at the top
actually two things to like at least
it has standoffs to the heaterblock
i ripped out the bowden, crazy how much resistance it has
did you push down on the collet?
yep, i just manually tried to force filament through the tube quite a bit of force needed.
what is hottest you ran at the hotend?
244C was my go to with petg
May I ask why you haven't moved on to a newer machine
okay maybe ptfe slightly softened then
i just got that printer for 50€ from a friend
figured a 4€ direct drive kit was worth it
Fair enough
Can't go wrong for that
I mean it's slow AF
But
Not bad
i mean it already has dual z axis motors
i have time but i rather not try to chase 28 year old parts from nissan i can get i mainly got into 3d printing so i can make replacement parts for my skyline
or rather unobtainable parts that are out there ready to print
potentially could also make a tad bit of improvement the original part lacks
yeah im hoping direct drive helps with tpu so i can reprint the foam parts of the intake in tpu
the foam is trying to fall apart so im hoping i can just replace it with proper tpu seals
maybe anneal those too...
yeah i think the heat will otherwise cause trouble
also siraya tech has tpu gf, if that still is not enough
honestly im not sure what temps the engine bay reaches. i just can feel it when running around the car .
That is fine that specific knowledge may be in forum or even perhaps not
Worst case you will have to use silicone rtv
i have melted through the downpipe 2 times already hard to say i figured tpu is just so cheap ill try
Fair enough
It could also be great bright color
If you care for that, like off the bat knowing where what is where if you care for that.
Black tpu is also not bad if you want stealth
Either way do look forward to read how that ends up going
ill first try a petg print so this hose is not rubbing
when i disable the wooting on signal rgb, it doesnt let me edit the colors on wootility
wonder what happens if you close signal rgb fully, and then open the wootility
i tried doing it rn and it still doesnt work idk why i got it yesterday and it didnt happen
i got it thanks for the help
great that it worked out
So, who else’s cpu temps are outrageous after this Windows 11 update?
I didn't think Windows could affect your temps in such a way.
Listen, after this update. My temperatures have hit what it hasn’t before…
I’m unsure in what it could be, but I simply blamed the update
Idle I’m originally 30, I’m 40 now and when I’m sitting it spikes to 60…
Games, I’m 10-15 more.
What cpu
so what you mean is
you’re still nowhere near tjmax
we could just chalk all these “heat” issues to amd users looking at their temps being 80c and panicking
Listen I’m rookie alr
could be anything from dust in the pc to a fan curve being slightly different but its nothing you need to care about because its completely fine temperatures
in fact the habit most people have of monitoring temps doesnt do anything good, if it throttles you will notice it or hear it if the fan goes wild
if neither of that happens the temps are fine
It could just be due to ambient air temp being different because of differing seasons
Can anyone help me set up my wooting 60 he v2
i just need help bro
help with what
Just use one of the profiles in the link and change it to your needs #🌈│wootabase_profiles message

And just like that Brave has turned hostile. I can't even disable this shit anymore cause it's no longer an experiment flag.
Yes - That's the problem. They shifted it up to replace new window. And guess what that means for users with muscle memory.
meanwhile zen
And I can't fucking disable it cause Chromium flags suck.
every day i am more glad to have left the chromium ecosystem again
clankers need to be studied
Man, fuck DHH and fuck Omarchy
Some dude from our company is constantly asking me if I can add support to Limine and other hyper-specific Omarchy stuff to our company Linux scripts...
Uh... no, use GRUB or systemd-boot ffs
I swear, Omarchy users are Linux people of Linux space
They use nonstandard shit make them add the support
Clearly they should be able to figure out how given they're probably the Arch btw kind
More like "I use Kali so am hacker" kind
The dip in Kruger-Dunning curve
hey the limine dev is nice don't mix them into DHH's mess
anyone know anything about the eta for ram prices to lower
damn
Never
As soon as shareholders stop caring about AI
wont be anytime soon then id guess
if ai bubble crashes then thats the time but your finances also will be fucked so is it really cheaper? not really
Cause when the corpos know that plebs are fine paying the inflated prices why lower them
yeah short of some sudden crash nobody predicts its not soon
been wanting to upgrade my pc for a while
my old cpu is skyrocketing in price rn 2 from where i got it
This pretty cool
Epic games would never
yeah tough luck cuz GPUs will rise in price too
we're just at the start of GPU prices again
i don’t want be buying anything because i will never know if prices of ram will lower
what do u even have rn
gpu is the 4070 super
I mean atp u can sell ur 5700x3d for 400$
buy an aliexpress 7800x3d for 200$
then you only have to put in like 300$ for new ram and mobo(150$)
ddr5 ram is min like 400
depends, get 2x8 instead of 1x16 if you dont need 32gb and you are at 250
16 gigs of ram tho…..
do you need more?
you do get 6000cl30
i could opt for used ram from the swiss retailer not sure tho
no but seriously how much ram do you have right now
who even uses pcpartpicker in these times for prices
32 gigs
im not sure
bc idfk every countries price comparison websites so I default to it
it only updates prices like once per week
if not slower
thats fine
yeah from what site lmao
me?
🤣
infinite money hack
I mean used doesnt really matter, either it works or it doesnt for ram
is 190 fair tho
No, but it's the times we live in
currently no ram price is fair
current ram price is too low in my opinion
Wat
Huh
??
?
Great, I've just had another bsod

indicates a critical, low-level system error, usually caused by corrupt files, faulty drivers (especially graphics or audio), or RAM issues
