Use Bluefin, the most user friendly distro I have ever seen

it literally is maintenance free, just reboot / shutdown your PC and it runs any pending updates for you, and reverts to the previous build if an update fails then waits 90 days to try again

Sure, I use 16/44.1 for everyday, when I listen to music then player tells my DAC to set sampling and bit depth to the same as song's
24bit is extra, and I don't think there are DACs that can do 24bit
I mean, sure, they can understand 24bit input, but can't output analog voltage precise enough to reach 24bit
Not even mentioning 32bit
