spent close to an hour getting a usb midi device to show up properly in affected softwares because apparently device limit on usb midi for windows is 10 active instances and half the devices/drivers in its prio list were old dupes with nothing behind them forcing actual connected devices outside that first 10 priority

and ofc zero mention about this on MS part or any hints as to why the heckin device shows up in device managers like normal but are inaccessible in affected softwares, just happened to get lucky on a google search laying this shit out
