Thanks a lot!

The USB port is on the underside, so a cable with a thick connector (the plastic/metal behind the USB plug) can't be much wider than the USB itself.

A cable like this wouldn't fit. Too thick.

Hi guys I got a new wooting keyboard I wanna change my keyboard switches to gateron magnetic jade but gateron jade switches is 3.5mm Key travel wooting lekker switches is 4mm key travel. So I wanna know if I change to magbetic jade Will the bottom dead zone change from 0.2 mm to 0.5mm?

reef patrol
slate bison
#

Will the bottom dead zone increase?

reef patrol
#

I don't follow

#

Once you push down 3.5mm that's full value.

Wootility doesn't yet have the ability to change the total travel, so you'll have to keep that in mind when setting it up

digital cliff
#

answer is no because the board auto-calibrates

#

besides, your logic makes no sense as taking out .5mm of travel would take out the deadzone too, so why would it increase

analog sinew
#

i think there is some confusion about terms here

digital cliff
#

it's about deadzones, not travel length

reef patrol
#

Deadzone implies you're pushing and nothing is happening. And that's not happening with 3.5 switch here.

#

Only way a deadzone could happen here as far as In aware is if our switches and software were 3.5, and someone installed a switch with longer travel than that.

And even then as Fleimi mentions, calibration will figure this out over time as you press keys over and over.

umbral heron
# ornate crest Anyone here smart with pc airflow?

Rule of thumb - air goes from front to back, and from bottom to top nod
Negative pressure in case if you want better cooling, but dust will suck in more
Positive is the opposite of that, but differences are minuscule, so whichever you pick it'll be fine nod

ornate crest
#

Trying to make my AIO exhaust but forgot how to mount the fans, can you help me figure out how I should mount them

#

I mounted one but I can't really feel air as the human hand is not nearly as good as electronics in moving things

#

Thought I was clever for a sec

warm ore
#

Yeah, you wanna generally mount them at the bottom of the radiator to push outside/up top, you wanna have the motor side visible as you mount on the rad.

ornate crest
#

Okay so the nice side shouldn't be visible inside the case

steady sail
ornate crest
#

This.. seems like an arrow but I don't know if it's a design choice

steady sail
#

check on all sides

ornate crest
#

It's on all sides

warm ore
#

this is Motor side, it's grabbing air from here, towards the back where you see the plastic cross sections

#

Always the same rule for all fans, unless fans explicitly say Reverse fan

#

So you want this to be upside as you mount on your radiator, if you are mounting the radiator on the top to exhaust.

#

That way you will have it push.

ornate crest
#

So I need to.. see the logo..?

warm ore
#

Did it not make sense?

ornate crest
#

I mean if I put the logo down the little arrow on the side points up to the radiator

warm ore
#

yeah thats correct

ornate crest
warm ore
#

Well i tried to explain in detail, just let me know what is unclear

ornate crest
#

You're saying the way the logo points.. that's the side air will be pushed to..? right..?

warm ore
#

it's the housing of the motor where that log is yes

#

but theres not always a logo, so thats irrelevant

rough osprey
#

it goes in there

warm ore
#

the arrow that is on some fans confirms it

rough osprey

and comes out the other side

ornate crest

So fan go other way

gotcha gotcha

warm ore

unless you wanna put the rad infront of the case?

#

where are you putting it

ornate crest
#

No, top mount

#

But good point

warm ore
#

So then turn the fan around

#

and it will be mounted on the bottom of the rad, pushing air out top

ornate crest
#

yea

#

bit of a confusing pic I know

#

I.. send it while the rad is already upside down so

warm ore
#

Not confusing at all

ornate crest
#

yeah that's the bottom but thankies

warm ore

lol

warm ore
#

Also situations from case to case and setup to setup will differ.

#

For example in an O11 Dynamic, the front intake classic setup goes out the window

Many solutions to that, i've been dealing so much with that that i started appreciating solutions that mean less wires dogekek

#

Like working with Unifans is a sort of godsend

warm ore
#

Some cases come with hubs, but you can also get hubs yourself. Mainly those have different versions, then some brands like Lian Li do something called Unifans, where you can interlock fans and you only need one cable per fan cluster.

#

Some software and hubs can integrate with the mobo, some can be controlled separately.

#

Some of it gives you partial control, some of it gives you per cluster fine tuning.

rough osprey

can you recommend any hubs that have more fine control ?

Nah, it's basically the chiplets are placed very close-by each other and they use physical copper wires instead of serializer/deserializer to connect the chiplets together, resulting in better energy efficiency and lower latency + improved bandwidth. Just wait until high NA EUV makes it into consumer chips, the cost is gonna increase significantly

tribal dirge

Yes it's only used for like a few exposures, but those few exposures are gonna be super expensive

doesnt matter if the exposure costs more when your cpu chiplet costs like 30$ to make

Just daunting? The slippy talk has me curious I wouldn't be able to adapt maybe? Stupid questioning, sorry

ultra has 1024 bit memory bus

crazy crazy SoC

ashen spindle

steam deck 2 is most likely going to use the exact same soc as other handhelds the coming gen

Mainly because during no humidity the raiden is already borderline too slippy for me. I'll just cop a dehumidifier if anything ^_^

vagrant pagoda
#

the real killer would be hbm soc

#

h200 hmb3e on a soc would be insane

#

6000 bit wide 4tb/s

#

AMD has bandwidth issues already on c

tribal dirge
vagrant pagoda
#

i mean only gpus

tribal dirge
#

true

#

didnt AMD make HBM equipped GPUs for Apple at some point?

#

it was a long time ago at this point

#

but I remember it being a thing

vagrant pagoda
#

5c 256c with 512gb of hbm3 could make gpus obsolete with newer ai model

ashen spindle
#

you wont get hbm on cpus because hbm basically has no idle state

#

also you would need it on package and thats not happening either

#

even nvidia on their grace cpus uses lpddr instead of hbm because it doesn make sense to use it

vagrant pagoda
#

aMD makes hbe apu for dc

vagrant pagoda
ashen spindle
#

ehhh the APU aspect of it is kinda dead with ai wanting no cpu tile in it

#

that for super computers only kinda now

vagrant pagoda
#

and im saying cpu replacement for gpu

#

it would replace gpus with hbm

ashen spindle
#

no it wouldnt, intel tried that last gen and nobody wanted it

vagrant pagoda
#

bbiggest limit on cpu inference is memory

vagrant pagoda
ashen spindle
#

wasnt e cores was full p cores

vagrant pagoda
#

yeah but you want e cores for it

#

56c isn't enough to need hbm

#

128c zen5 will saturate 12 channel

ashen spindle
#

you're just adding so much cost and limiting what it can be used for, minimal gain I dont see the benefit

#

12800 mrdimm will be more htan enough for zen6

vagrant pagoda
#

im mean modern gpus are set for only ai

#

with arms race for more memory

ashen spindle
#

yeah but why make cpus enter that race with the tinies of advantage in one field instead of just making your gpu better

vagrant pagoda
#

hmb as l4 could make cpu much more competitive

vagrant pagoda
ashen spindle
#

idk I dont see the benefit of it

Just out of curiosity(only for those who owns gaming laptop/laptops), which brand laptop do you all use? Actually even if desktop builders want to answer, you can tell me which companies you like(especially MOBO/GPU brands). I am currently using acer predator and it's not too bad at all, but in the future I may switch to lenovo as many people seems to think highly of lenovo.
