I bloody love the built in app stuff though tbh

AMD have to do a lot of wrongs to not "win" this generation in the public court.

Don't have GPUs that burn down, make sure there's a remote semblance of stock ready and don't have weird AI marketing claims overshadow raster performance while raising prices.

Do not underestimate them KEKW
They may go all-in for FSR4, but if there's no stock... that's an absolute embarrassment given stores already had stock back in January hanaSusSips

They can only validate for jedec specs and also that’s a guarantee to work best even if 99% can do more

unkempt lake
#

I know

#

I'm just saying reviewers should use jedec when reviewing in the first place

#

As realistically not 100% of chips can hit higher memory speeds

ashen spindle
#

No reviewers should review it how consumers use it and that’s mostly with xmp

#

If you want jedec look at phoronix reviews not gaming sites

unkempt lake
#

Then again it would provably help if gamers knew what xmp was in the first place

astral haven
#

thing is tho for 99.99% of office and productivity tasks, mem speed isnt noticeable, but it very much is in gaming, would be better to have 2 full tests, 1 native stable, 1 xmp

Most just turn it on just because they got told to turn it on and have no isea what it does

cursive summit

#

Other than EVGA, I guess. but we value them for a reason

ashen spindle

like one point is slightly higher memory OC and if you dont manually go for overclocking your ram for non-gaming benchmarks it wont matter

pearl eagle
#

okay, is the b850 pro rs the best asrock board in a range of like 250max for the 9800x3d?

People always like to pretend like VRAM capacity helps with performance and they always point to a benchmark chart where the fastest GPU in that benchmark does like 12 fps, and the 16gb card runs 2 fps where the 12gb card crashes
Oooh look the 12gb card crashed, not enough VRAM
Well none of these are playable...

#

And as for nvidia being cooked, it's always clickbait
Nvidia definetly didn't go all in on gaming performance just like on 20 series, but neither amd or Intel have any plans to try to compete, and not only do they have to compete with nvidia, they have to compete with all the other folks who want to buy TSMC space for their ai chips...

#

And finally for "fake frames" not a single reviewer (even ones that cherry pick games for whatever reason) show show results for the fake frames as comparison to other GPUs
And yet nvidia still ends up at the top of the gaming chart and sold out

Nvidia isn't cooked, but it's really cooking off its goodwill. I don't think people expect AMD to bring out a 5090TiSuperDuper killer, but just price something reasonably

Quick Question. So. I'm pushing my RTX 4070 Super. Right now the game of choice is Cyber Punk 2077. Now. While I did get the card to push over 100+ FPS with everything Maxed with the only exception being the DLSS which I put on Performance. (This includes Ray Tracing) All great, but the card is pushing 80-85C. Should I be concerned with those temps?

Those temps are normal

The boost algorithm pushes clocks till 85-86c max then is stabilizes

VR is an extremely tough and niche market as it is, people are skeptical to jump on it even at $500 or less

Quest 2 was rather affordable

Honestly, Valve can compete in nearly any market cause it's Valve

#

But I don't see them doing very well against Meta

#

You just can't beat the price and quality of Quest 3

#

Not to mention Quest 3S exists and it's ridiculously affordable

Valve said it themselves they aren’t going for that market so they aren’t going to compete in cheap vr space with meta

If anything we might have another Alyx moment where people couldn't be bothered to spend a grand on Index so they got 200$ MMRs, people will just end up buying Quest 3 if Valve doesn't price their shit right and they release another big VR game

I don't see what Valve can add to the VR market, no point in competing there

The question is why, why would you even bother, not many people are bothering to make games for the platform, not many people are bothering to even use their VR goggles since Alyx released 5 years ago and that was the VR gaming's big breakthrough

#

I don't see the money, they can do better stuff

Guess that depends on how popular it becomes. And if other retailers also express an interest.
Could make it a special SKU and upsell it a bit. If the retailer doesn't have to have all of the machines and manhours to do the work, they save a lot and could help prices.

#

Back when I had my 8700K and 9900K delidded, it was still very much a "ask a random dude on a tech forum and mail the CPU to them, if the CPU breaks they won't cover it" kind of deal.

During the last quarter, Intel kept up a steady pace with the manufacture of 30,000 wafers.ts most recent high-NA EUV machines nearly match the performance of earlier EUV systems, yet they deliver significantly improved reliability. AMD Navi 48 GPU powering RX 9070 series has 357 mm² and 53.9B transistors Set to power next-gen AMD gaming PCs. AMD has confirmed the full specifications of the Radeon RX 9070 series. Both Radeon RX 9070 cards, launching next month, are equipped with the same Navi 48 GPU, featuring 53.9 billion transistors across a […]

#

I suspect if AMD doesn't lock it down, the 9070 non-XT might be a very interesting card for overclocking

vagrant pagoda

I'd love a nice ITX build... maybe when my next upgrade is due.

Which given current hardware prices, probably won't be for a long time.

Why do some people actually say that playing old games with new powerful hardware is a "waste". It disregards the fact that there is always still performance to be had even in older games. You can now easily play old AAA games at 4k 240 fps which breathes new life into it. And it's not like having new powerful hardware means you can't or shouldn't play old games when there are more good old games to choose from than very modern ones
