But the new gpus all support it now Iām assuming?
DSC on most things is not an issue because it only is noticeable by humans if its the highest levels of compression dsc has which usually only 32:9 monitors and such use
so if you go for any 16:9 screen you wont really need to worry about it
What mice should I get I currently have the Logitech 502 hero
Ah gotcha thx!
the confusion mostly comes from people not knowing theres different levels of DSC and if you only see the bad or good one it gets confusing because one person things its not visible the other thinks its visible
all monitors that will come out this year will support uhbr20, also the 50 series will be the first gpus to allow that; i'd wait a couple of months and get this
but dsc is nothing bad imo
technically there are pro versions of the rdna3 cards that have one uhbr20 slot already
I was just under the impression that the quality of image was āworseā and the smoothness wasnāt as good. I get it now though! Makes sense the bandwidth is still pretty huge
Yeah Iāll probably wait for the Msi one. Looks the most interesting of the bunch unless Iām missing something
that's correct, although as mentioned by Hopperbus, limited to 1m passive cable length, which is just too short
yee needs the new spec for longer cables to really be useable
Wasn't a 3 meter passive cable shown at CES?
ces showed the 2.1b spec that allows for 3m cables of uhbr20
its DP80LL for low loss and the 80 because its the full 80 bandwith, much better than uhbr20 when that isnt 20 but 80gbps lmao
isnt it active?
Idk I just read the headline
yes they are active cables
they are 3x the length of the passive ones is what headlines probably said
i have that exact monitor and id say it's worth
i wont use anything 1440p avove 240hz until it's dp2.1 UHBR20 and so is my gpu

Ah dashi beat me to it
isn't that what fullscreen optimization in windows should help with?
game thinks you run in fullscreen exclusive, but behind the scenes it runs in highly optimized fullscreen borderless; also this shouldn't be an issue at all with dx12 games, since it was designed with this new flip model in mind
i haven't had any issues with alt-tab using the pg27aqdp and the pg27aqn, but i also got an amd gpu
yes, dont remember if it needs to be win11 or if 10 also has everything needed for that but exclusive fullscreen isnt really needed anymore
Most of the time i still play in borderless fullscreen
yeah and thats all you need these days
this is also a really nice feature https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/optimizations-for-windowed-games-in-windows-11-3f006843-2c7e-4ed0-9a5e-f9389e535952
How to improve gaming on your Windows 11 PC by making use of the optimization for windowed games settings.
yup with that you dont need exclusive fullscreen for VRR or anything
(thank god - dedicated fullscreen is a pest)
and then there's linux, where fullscreen is a lie
always knew linux isnt to be trusted smh
Is The Linux in the room with us right now?
Arch in the corner, staring menacingly
think steamOS will come to pcs
Y...yes?
with how intrusive the anti cheats are these days and a lot of developers being anti linux, it will take a couple of years at best
is it going to be better than windows for gaming LMAO
ah ok
Nah it's PS5 exclusive
w
maybe marginally better if you run your games in gamescope from the tty, like steamos
U mean PS 6 Pro
also idk if anyone knows but for reflex 2
it seems like cheating no?
warping thew camera
no, if i understood it correctly, it's basically what VR games have been doing to avoid motion sickness on low frame rates, but on a screen
hmm okay gotcha
3kliksphilip had a nice video covering this topic from a couple of years ago https://youtu.be/f8piCZz0p-Y
DLSS 3's framerate doubling feature is all well and good, but that lag is painful. But... what if there was a way to reduce it? Welcome to the wonders of Framerate Independent Mouse Movement.

mhh its similar but not quite the same
but for understanding whats happening close enough I guess
yep, it's without the š AI š stuff
also its a game feature, wont really be a cheat if the games add it themself lol
as much as i hate the current frame gen gen (?) i really think dlss 4 is going to be good
well the improvements in DLSS 4 aren't just to frame gen
I could see the artifacts in the youtube stream of the presentation they showed
yeah but he specifically talked about frame gen
definitely, but as Hopper said, it's the stuff around like reflex 2 we talked about that will make this bearable
well the naming makes it tricky, I like the changes that arent making even mroe frames
yeah but why have something that has to be bearable, just use these things on 0 generated frames and you dont offset latency increases, you just lower it even more
naming's never been a strong suit for any of these companies unfortunately
oh no its done on purpose
like they can show how you went from 20 to 200fps and most people are associating more fps with a better experience
but if the frame time is the same, you dont get that better feeling so its just misleading
oh yeah I mean they did the same thing for 4000 series
queue shill foundry talking about free performance
4x the frames on paper that's all you need to know don't read into it further
I canāt wait for gamers nexus tear down of the 5090 founders
So curious to see how that was designed thermally because some of the 5080s arenāt that large if theyāre just using base Nvidia spec
I for one sold all but one set of clothes I own, just gonna clothe-generate the rest
The more you buy the more you save
LTT too lol
In DLSS4 promotional videos you can very clearly see insane artifacting and ghosting
Lil cutie
I like DLSS2, I like DLSS3, DLSS4 is just for.. for people that just do not care about image quality and only want raw performance
I mean this is how they managed to make the smol 5090
I want to see thermal testing but that cooler looks amazing
The fact it's 2 slot and can cool 575W that's just.. water cooling levels of cool
Those are some good fins, fans and vapour chambers for sure.
Tasty
ltt isnt that big of a shill, they are at CES and use the live coverage, DF has hands on hardware they get from nvidia because they slurp up their marketing for them
The linus video was silly
I mean, what I'm talking about is this one #šātech message
I still think dlss 4 is gonna be better
hard to tell actually quality when that video was like not even screen capped
You can CLEARLY SEE the few times he showcases the game it's artifacting a mofo
if you can see quality issue even when the video is not screen capped and has youtube compression, I think its quite obvious how much you would see it when using it
mm I still rather wait for more in depth reviews
especially since dlss 4 4x'ing fake frames at 4k with ray tracing is like worst case scenario
especially at native 20 fps
despite it being more pixels, 4k makes it better because you have more accurate base frames to use, so its not worst case at all
its more vram overhead but much better results
thats true
but won't ghosting be worse
when they have to interpolate so many in-between frames
I'm still not a fan of the direction Nvidia went tho
I don't like upscaling at the cost of my latency
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT with 3.0 GHz+ clock, 330W With nearly zero information on RDNA4 series, we again have to lean towards leakers who apparently already have the cards.Ā Someone at Chiphell claims to have access to Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. According to those who saw the full thread, the images were already [ā¦]
Damn is this card really going to be far better than we thought
What 5000 series card would actually be worth to purchase?
AMD could shock the world with an insane card if the 9070XT is priced well
Why so?
spoiler alert: they won't in classic AMD fashion
They are promising competitive pricing this time around lol, from the Q&A at least, and they have Intel now to somewhat compete with
because we know nothing of the performance so far
hard to tell if they're worthwhile yet
True was this the same thought process when the 4000 series were dropping?
sort of? they still showed a bit more there
also their vram choices seems weird
but this time its literally only 4x frame gen vs 2x frame gen that they showed us
which means nothing
they've also only been showing like really one sided misleading shit
look at this 4090 vs this 5070 with 4x frames on
only displaying fps and nothing else
the 5070 is the same as the 4090
in Ai workloads
Yeah I quiet canāt see how thatās possible
But my eyes are on the 5080
And 5090 isnāt worth 2k imo
currently the amd card seems more appealing to me
where have I seen this before
it's probably a better value

Was it 2x-4x faster after performance tests?
ofc not
No, no it was not
no not even close
Percentage compared?
Ay yo do we know if the ROG and other 3rd party members are gonna drop their cards the same day as the FE or nah
like 30% in gaming on average faster
Cause everywhere I see online talks about this Jan 30th date
Nvidia always cherry picks the most insane results for their marketing
Hmmmm not bad I guess but def not 2x-4x
yes FE and AiB cards release the same time
Oh shit fr?
i hope I can get something š
Whatās FE and AiB stand for ?
FE is Nvidia's own cards they sell to you
Founders edition
founders edition aka made by nvidia, AiB is Add in Boardpartner so Asus/evga/msi etc.
AiB is MSI, Gigabyte, etc, repackagers
Everywhere I look the AiB cards are fucking MASSIVE
With how Nvidia is going though they really are trying to bankrupt their board partners lol
usually pricier for better cooling
I wonder how big the difference will be compared to msrp
or less noise, or watercooling options etc.
Especially for the good ones like ROG strix
With how much R&D Nvidia seems to be doing in the cooling department, I bet they'll just do it themselves and stop providing cards to AiBs
Iām tryna go for a FE for msrp price
Also is it Jan 20th or 30th
30th
Thank you
looking at my options here in NZ, yes very slim card
Kinda crazy tho that those AiB cards turned tiny cards into hulking monsters
I donāt think they can fit in my case š
Huge cooling fans on em
looks like Asus has a 2.5 slot that's probably my best bet
5090 looks questionable
Idk why aibs stick to the same old fin stack
how they cooling all that
I mean it's not that crazy
is the chip just so big that its easier
600 wasn't crazy for overcooked cards that log ago
those werent 2 slot tho
5090 isn't 2 slots it's slightly over isn't it?
My 290x ran 500w+ for years
1080tis do 450 to 500
The new cards basically run the limit of what they can clock all the time
Same I really want that founders 5090
It says 2 slot
4090 was a 3 slot though
Is it confirmed to only be 2? I thought it was slightly over
Just says 2 slots on the nvidia website
2 slots is 2 slots Iām getting it for that form factor
Itās in their small form factor list that they pushed with the SFF initiative so it should be accurate
I really think this generation Nvidia is competing with their board partners way to much no wonder EVGA didnāt find gpu business to be sustainable
The founders alone seem better value than the majority of cards at CES
a lot of 5000 series AIB cards on the list too
Makes me wonder if the big ass coolers were always overkill
but that's the only 5090
Or Blackwell is more power effienct
I hope the temps arenāt bad
A lot of sff folks will be going for a founders card
The issue is aib get months while Nvidia gets years to design.
I guess that does lead to the solution of attaching more fans and larger coolers to compensate
If aib held off on releasing a higend cooler for a few months it would sell a fraction
Also Nvidia is massive and can just throw in cooler design to the billions they spend on a GPU architecture
If this comes true that pricing for that performance is insanity
RX 5700 was incredible, RDNA going out with a value bang would be fitting
Not even Asus can swing the same budget as Nvidia for a cooler
AMD looking to compete with Intel not Nvidia
Nvidia needs more developers to adopt their cards in order to be able to truly compete
Which means lower end card market share
There was a whole article about it awhile back
5070ti or 5080?
AMD and Intel are fighting for Penny's while Nvidia rakes in dollars
Last steam survey was 75% nvidia
Amd and Intel's top GPUs were both integrated graphics from handhelds lol
yeah there's about 30 nvidia cards before you get to the first AMD card in that survey
Nvidia has a 80% share if you remove handhelds
Hence why AMD is going for The low end as people who are buying the best of the best will go always go Nvidia
Nvidia has the middle and low
AMD wants developers so theyāre targeting mid to low range
they're going for the low because that's all they are capable of right now
1650 is the 4th most popular GPU lol
That aswell
and "low" is more like upper-mid range
5% market share of just the 1650. Intel was only 15% total with igpus
1650 is just very popular
Was used in many pre builts
It was rather cheap at the time aswell so it sold well
The 1050ti is 2.5 and the 1060 is 3.5%
Those 3 are more than intels total dgpu share
Meanwhile 1 1/2 slot 1660TI
What's wild is the 6600 and 580 are basically tied for ands top GPUs
But Nvidia 3000 and 4000 dominate.
Also the 4090 having a larger share than any single amd or Intel GPU is wild.
the die size of the 9070 is looking pretty large estimates put it as slightly bigger then AD103
if that's the case I highly doubt those $500 figures
600 at least, performs in-between 5070/5070ti
AMD may take a loss on it if theyāre really trying to get people to adopt Radeon
But I do doubt that severely so your probably right
Only evil people use AMD gpus
Am I evil?
Yes I am
wait they aren't even gonna top their own last-gen offers?
then what's the point of making new products
Fsr4
you know how little the market share is for halos
Cheaper
There are dual mode miniled monitors at ces
I hope they keep refining this product category
The 1060 was the most sold gpu by far for ages and it wasnāt close to previous years flagship lol
1080/4k isnt that fancy
i wonder how bad the ghosting is
Asus made one with pretty good response times (for an lcd)
But not miniled

I might be kind of late to this and maybe some people already discussed this: https://fixupx.com/scaling01/status/1876705772240798079
I honestly think that should not just come down to the performance but also the size of the card...
Isn't the 4090 like a 3 slot or whatever card and the 5070 maybe 2 slot at most?
what does that matter
i mean you can do some rough napkin math based on what they said about the new frame gen
if it does 4x frame rate, i assume it injects 3 generated frames between each "real" frame
since 40 series only injects one
yes its just fake frames and cherrypicked results
100%!
in 4 4090 frames you get 2 real 4090 frames and 1 5070 frame
so you can assume about half
Agreed. I am just saying the 5070 is also a way smaller card...
of course this is not accounting for any other performance improvements or things they changed
i dont even mind the ai stuff that much its just a dumb and dishonest claim
but yeah just based on super rough napkin math i came up with in the shower a few days ago this is the conclusion i came to
Saying it is equal is marketing bullocks! Yes. But I think if you measure it in volume which is a weird thing to say and maybe power draw I can see it a bit...
5070 had approx half the raster performance of 4090
Card size doesnāt matter aside for like small form factor pcs
thats an entirely different metric then
fps/cm^3 or what
makes no sense
Some stuff like that ^^
you should work at nvidia
ahhahaha
I mean I was trying to make sense of their marketing bullocks haha... I swear. The phrase "THAT IS 2x the performance per cm cubed than a 4090 LUL"
WTF
Box of lies
I was just thinking because I saw the Optimum video on the 5090 and how compact they actually made that thing... Maybe that would be a thing if you measure it literally in fps/ cm^3 it is useless way to think about it ngl
It'll be interesting to see what the waterblock designs will be like.
Itās nothing new. They said the 4080 had 3-4 times the performance of a 3090 and that was the same marketing bullshit
And I don't even think the 5000 is more power efficient is it?
they just put some bs on those slides
Fax I wonder if I should wait till next Black Friday to get one
I was hoping but the rumours already had me disappointed months before for 24gb on the 5080...
But nah
Iām looking into getting the 5080 tbh
3080 aināt doing it for me anymoreššā ļøā ļø
Are there any benchmarks from some freaking lab it feels like ages since I last witnessed a Nvidia launch LUL
i love that you can come here at any time of the day and people will talk about the 50 series
5070 TI is my kinda vibe as well
I mean... I almost feel bad now...
I just wanted to yap...
Brainstorming
The cards are launching January 22nd innit? Just wait a bit lol
That too
Jan 30th****
wasn't it the 30th?
Something was happening on 22nd, I don't remember
hopefully we get real benchmarks soon
I would love to see if 1080p 540hz is possible with a 5080 in CS2...
On my shitty old CPU probably not LUL
1080p540Hz is already possible with weaker cards though?
22 is the preorders/reviews
25 is launch
Ah that must have been why I remember the date, reviews
Itās the 30th
Because the game is so bugged that the ragdolls give me -30% FPS when they fly across the map recently LUL
I swear i saw the 22
The game needs to suddenly render a freaking ragdoll being shot into the stratusphere
Sorry for butchering that word
lol
Reviews will be a day before just like always
RIP reviewers
more fps isnt going to make you better
I wonder what happened to the freaking 1% lows with one update in CS2... FOR every player...
š
I mean...
A Wooting 80HE isn't going to fix my shitty aim
? If it was earlier they would have even less time
What I mean is that reviewers typically get 2-3 days - often over a weekend to do ALL of the testing, writing, and video/editing for GPU reviews.
Oh yeah
It was a real fucking nightmare back when I worked in the industry. It would burn out people hard to basically have to do an all-weekender, and pray that there were no weird driver issues, cause getting hold of an nVidia/AMD rep for tech support and "better drivers" could take hours.
Hours you didn't have, cause benchmarks take time to do over and over.
Yup still the same
I feel that...
What were your new year resolutions Mansen?

Then talk to me again about my wants and needs ā¤ļø
im runnng a pair of 1080tis driving 5 4k screens XD
i love that that is the big problem when just a few years ago there was people debating whether 120hz even does anything for gaming

shit really has gone all the way in the other direction huh
It never was that for me...
Even my 144hz then 165hz I felt...
Like the diff is definitely there... 240 -> 360 hz is certainly very different deminishing returns...
Iām running 280hz 1440p monitor with 3080
But I am no where near those FPS with this setup

AMD AI-based FSR 4 demo Spotted at CES. AMD has provided limited details about FSR4, only confirming through a single slide that it is a machine learning (ML)-based technology. The company also announced that FSR4 will be supported in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Interestingly, Hardware Unboxed discovered [ā¦]
I bet videocardz website traffic is the highest it's been the past year
But yeah FSR4 is really good from what I'm seeing
Damn maybe I should just pick this up for my younger brother and keep using the 7950x3d
AMD has kinda always been that way, Nvidia innovates, AMD catches up with better solutions
Oh wait I thought it was the 7800 for some reason
What'd you get?
Technically nothing yet. But I've committed to the 5080 when my 3080 dies (which likely will happen before the end of the year), and my first 3D printer, so I can get some projects finished finally.

Are plushies a luxury
No they are a necessity
7800X3D is goated
the main question still is if itll be new gpus obly as announced since tgere was some backpadeling from what i heard
it will be on rdna4 only at first
isnt the 9800x3d better?
most likely it could run on rdna3 just too slow on the architecture so it wouldn't actually increase frames much
If RDNA4 is actually incredible, what will UDNA1 be like?
Not much different or a lot faster at productivity with the Pro stuff included?
nobody knows, too far away
Quin with the 9070XT being what, 330W the rumour is now? But less processing cores than the 7900GRE, do you think AMD is running into power issues and that's why they aren't scaling them up?
Their shader cores seem a lot more powerful than Nvidias CUDA one for one, for what that matters, but they also seem to sip power
still thinking about the 9950x3d
Yes but 2x more in pricešµāš«
3D printing eh?
Also the 5080 is very tempting
But the 5090 is nice cauz of the 32 gigs of video memory.
yeah but the price...
Need a bracket/frame for this as a starter. Project that got shelved just pre COVID.
Ah
No hackerspace nearby?

I'm sure there is. But I wanted to try it out myself, instead of relying on others.
eww people!

It does lmao
I also built my own 3D printer lol
Copenhagen is tiny, can't be more than 30m by bike
Learn how to bike, buy bike, don't get hit by cars. Check.
Wtf, a Dane that doesn't know how to bike? And isn't Copenhagen the best cycling city in the world? (dutchies know it isn't)
I didn't grow up in Copenhagen, but I've always lived downtown, where walking or a quick bus is easier than a bike and finding parking (and not having it stolen)
Anyway. Will probably get a Bambu.
Yeah! They're great printers!

I have this thing, pretty amazing printer
Got it like a year and a half ago, still going strong!
Like I said. Having one was generally more of a negative.
I love my A1 mini, just works really well with no effort

Bambu printers are as close to plug and play 3D printers can get.
Ooh. Bambu are on sale on their website. Lucky timing.
Or is it a for ever sale
majority of the times I've browsed their website there's been a sale, but like once there wasn't one
I think they have a lot of sales but not 100% of the time
Either way. Appears cheaper than other sites.
And here we go

alot of the stuff shown looks expensive and really overkill. Like that aio is excessive I donāt think people look at their PC case that often to warrant a screen like that. And the BTF stuff doesnāt seem that cool nor do I see much traction towards it.

hey guys, quick question for my tech experts
im getting a 4070 ti super for my bday in a couple of days, and have a 600w psu in my old pc build currently, would i be in trouble if i plugged the card in my system temporarily while i find a new psu, and would a new one even be needed? i dont know much so im just asking
whats your cpu?
i7 12th gen K
should be fine
300w gpu + 125w cpu + 175w everything else. Mmm, maybe
well the tpd of the 4070tis is like 285 max
i saw, but obv i wont be maxxing it out yet until i get more psu headroom
ik my cpu pulls power like nothing but its an old build
Running on AMD's new Radeon 9070-series GPUs at CES 2025, a machine learning upscaling demo of Sony's Ratchet and Clank is almost certainly FSR 4 AI upscaling - and as it's running on Ratchet and Clank - our 'go to game' for AI upscaling quality tests, we could really put the tech through its paces. Oliver and Alex are at the show - and this is ...
fsr4 go brr
Is that good budget is 1600⬠and I want the 4070super ?
ty bro that means a lot u reassured me
nah you can get better, air cooler for 30⬠for example, could get a 7900gre for cheaper at same performance
Thx but Iām so scared to build it myself because ist the first time for me building a pc
find a good guide and youāll be alright
Thx
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/p8JtC8 had this one aorund for someone else for 1300
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
What's a good price to sell my RX 6700 XT Sapphire nitro+ gpu?
Give me them recommendations š„
look at sold ones on ebay in your region and then you know
Ebay doesn't allow finnish people to sell sadly
or whatever site then
Someone is selling a powercolor one for 320 that's technically near the main capital
So roughly 380-400 since Sapphire nitro+ do be pretty rare to see
Still gonna give you an idea of the price
You can just convert it to your currency
I think you're overestimating how much that actually matters
It's a 6700xt
No one's gonna care about the AIB
Nah, they'll literally give offers for a lower price
Some people don't like negociating
(:
I'd just skip your offer
And go to the next guy
Have you ever sold items in finland?
If you know everything then why are you asking people for advice
crazyyy, some guy is selling a asus strix 6700xt for 350
I asked advice on pricing, not on how to sell 101
Well your pricing is bad :)
And people tend to negotiate
It's not like I'm gonna put in the listing "non-negotiable"
That's also how I do it unless I want to quick sell. People often undercut my stuff by like 1 000 crowns so I just make it more expensive than I originally intended
^^
Some guy lowballed my friend's gaming pc listing
He'd be fine with like 100 euro undercut,
I don't like time wasters and especially not people who'll show up to buy it and try to negociate on the spot
not 300 š
You have the money or you don't if not fuck off
If I want to sell something for 5 000 I might put it out for 6 000 to 7 000. Hopefully someone tries to haggle by saying "5 500?" because then I'd be getting more than I intended and can even try to get more
I don't have time to waste on bullshit
That's the way i do it
The few times i sold shit
Different methods, different culture on selling items
I sold my PS5 for more than I bought it for
I sold it the day I put it out because it was in high demand

But yes I got it for MSRP by being patience pilled
Got it, finished Demon's Souls remake and then sold it for profit
xd ezz
Oh, and the guy who really low balled my friend's listing complained about the pc not having a windows license, so he offered 350 and wouldn't budge
oh man Unraid 7.0 is out, damn it is worth the risk to upgrade
hey sorry to ask the same question but I wanted to know why are people saying that the FE and AiB cards are coming out the same day on the 30th? I can't find any sources online
because thats how it is
when stuff gets sold its when everyone sells it, wouldnt make sense to limit that
I can refute anything all you need to do is claim "nuh uh"
I suppose making the board double sided probably increases costs
in 2 identical pairs of sticks of RAM, but 1 kit is 2x16GB vs one which is 2x48GB, same frequency, timings, and whatnot, would the higher capacity introduce more latency when playing CPU bound games or no
for instance these 2 corsair vengeance LPX sticks paired with a 9800X3D
cmk32gx5m2b6000c30 - 2x16GB DDR5-6000 10ns 30-36-36-76 1.4V
cmk96gx5m2b6000c30 - 2x48GB DDR5-6000 10ns 30-36-36-76 1.4V
check out Acerās giant new Nitro Blaze 11 handheld vs. the Steam Deck š«¢ https://t.co/lM3dyibHac
And yet they could not fit touchpads
thats beeg
TouchPads are crucial imho
P much all the boards have been double-sided forever
Why are there always these comically large display borders on these
It's part of the display I guess.. It's probably also a cost thing
Hahahahaha we have come to the point where AMD is cocky
Who would have thought this day would come, it's been what 2 decades of Intel dominance?
Must be time for them to up their prices more
if Intel can use the efficiency gains of the 280 series and make actual perf gains next gen they could look decent
not sure about latency but because theyre dual rank they wont be able to OC as much
still should be fine to expo to 5800-6000mhz
if there is a latency diff imo the increased capacity is well worth whatever it may be
2 decades of resting on their laurels, while AMD was fumbling around with Bulldozer, Intel did nothing, but driving prices higher, keeping most of people on <4 cores for a long time. When AMD came out with Ryzen, Intel had nothing in their sleeve to respond, they tried with AVX512 - cool, may be useful, but why would they remove it from newer CPUs? P and E-cores? I still think that's a stupid idea, but to each their own. And all they were left with is pumping more power into silicon in a desperate try to still be competitive.
It's a flash memory, there's no latency because you have bigger chips
That would be the case for more sticks, but still, difference would be pretty much indistinguishable
Hit it with 96G@6000 and it works
What case are you getting
That new refresh of the 4000d from corsair
@old marlin remember you said "is that a mouse sensor" on the Switch 2 joycons
Switch update 19.0.0 got datamined and there's a lot of entries on mouses, cursor acceleration, etc
Switch 2 will prolly support computer mice I imagine
Guh
As... Switch does for few years now?
It does have APIs for mouse input, iirc first game you could play there on KBM was Quake
Or itās a sign theyre making a new chibi robo game after so longā¦.
I've never heard of Switch having mouse inputs
I mean the products name isnāt lucky
lmao
We cannot comment on whether or not the leaks are accurate - Only that we did not take these photos
I feel like stuff like happens with every new console and stuff like that
I just find the implication amusing.
We didnt take these picturesā¦.. but if we were to, heres howā¦
If it's going to be called Switch 2 and not SwiiUtch then I'm going to be sorely disappointed
Name it close to the wii u to free scott the woz from his prison
Itās been getting stocked like crazy
it was from some indian dude i js bought one from amazon
and cancelled it
he had 30% review
amazon one comes in march 21st
il be trying to get one that will arrive in january but ill js keep that there js incase
Yeah might be a little tough to find one for January
crying
i mean if i do get my hands on a 5070 ti, i dont think il lrecieve it for one or two months
so i might aswell js stick to this ig

Well I'm not buying it lol, that's literally the CPU I have
And if 9070XT is actually 480$ with 4080S+ performance, that's just a no brainer
perhaps they finally decided and it's just going to be Nintendo Bottom?
chat
would a cpu downgrade be worth it to get a better gpu?
9800x3d 5070 ti
7800x3d 5080
ik benchmarks arent out but what do yall think
but if i downgrade cpu, id be buying a bundle for the 7800x3d so ill be downgrading ram from cl30 to cl36
What resolution and refresh rate is your monitor?
We donāt know because you gave two gpus where we donāt know the performance
But in general you want more cpu the lower your resolution or or if youāre going for high fps like esports games
You just know this has become some sort of weird garbage urban myth, and people are out there, digging through literal landfills looking for a harddisk.
odds are prob better than winning at gambling
There's a dude with 175 million in BTC on a hard drive digging through a landfill to find it, and he got sued by environmental protection agencies - he's millions in debt, will probably lose the lawsuit, has no bitcoin, and made a lot of enemies
Supposedly 8000 bitcoin in that wallet.
especially downgrading the gpu for the better cpu lol
Tbh, the 50 series seem a bit wacky
It's nice that they made 5070 affordable, but still pretty wacky performance wise,
We won't know till it's out.
You're relied on DLSS mainly, which is meh š
DLSS is not performance. It is a crutch.
I know
They relied on dlss on the slides, we donāt know how good or bad it is without
Maybe itās fine, maybe itās 10%
If it's just ok, then maybe acceptable
but the pricing is wild for a small % of better performance
5090 or nothing!
MSRP*
What pricing will be we'll see from scalpers and AIBs
It was the same with 30 series
Goin for the 5080
i will get it dw
I'm guessing the ROG Astral etc class 5090 cards will be 700+ euro above MSRP.
1000⬠above
I really wish this story would go away at this point. I appreciate that he's lost a lot of money, assuming his claims are true, but he'd also be fine had a fraction of that effort gone into anything actually productive.
Well with the case promptly thrown out of court, it should die down.
I just got my 80HE but now whenever I press caps lock, it shows a notification in the middle of my screen and it will switch me to my desktop when in games and such or just make it so I have to click again so I lose control of my character in an fps until I click which will also cause me to fire. Itās super frustrating and I donāt know what this setting is as I turned off notifications in windows 11 for toggling keys and this functionality only started when I got my wooting this week.
Welcome to owning a Windows PC.
This is not related to the keyboard.
Pleeeeenty of threads about it over on the MS forums š
It's usually some shitty app that the PC manufacturer snuck in - very common on laptops.
Yeah, not a standard feature enabled by default
Gotta love preinstalled bloatware
This got to be a terribly made OSD app that takes focus when caps lock is toggled
Wonder is the osd still shows when booted in safe mode?
Task Manager > Autostart > Disable everything that you don't know what is
All "essential" services won't be shown up there anyway, and you can check whatever bloatware is on your PC and causes this
MSI's 27" 4K 240Hz QD-OLED is launching for $1100 USD MSRP
Roughly what I was expecting then
only 27" inches
I imagine the ASUS ROG model with the same panel will be a similar price

jesus fuck
hot
I would love that but I'm probably not spending 1100 on a monitor
i tried 4k27" recently shit is beautiful
I was really interested in the Alienware until they said it was only DP1.4
yeah I also used 27 inch 4k a while in school and its great
even most dp2.1 is only uhbr13.5
bullshit man
or uhbr10
i believe even the new asus is only 13.5
I could rock 27" 4K again. I used to have an LG 27" 4K60 IPS display around 5-6 years ago. It was a really good IPS panel considering it was only a £350 monitor at the time. Ok no VRR or anything but it did make WoW look really good with that really nice DPI.
MSI ewwww
Caring about brands ewwww
I care about brand, if your motherboard for example isn't integrated with Windows Dynamic Lighting I will not even consider you no matter how good your hardware is. There is a lot of brands that are on my no buy list because of software.
Windows' RGB system is not great yet. Much easier to just use an open source app for that.
Yet. The point is it's an open standard for devices to implement so apps don't have to support devices X Y and Z, instead they can just support the lamparrays and gain automagic support for everything following the standard
I welcome a future where it works well - I wouldn't avoid products based on lack of support for this however š
i mean you can always shim a VHF driver in there to add lamparray support from windows itself without fw
Okay but thatās still dumb because the same brand can have different levels of compatibility for rgb for example
Like letās say no msi board has working rgb, doesnāt mean fuck all about what their monitor can or canāt do

I wonder if GN will interview the Radeon folks
I really wanna see what they have to say
The ai mentions per minute is peak humor.
Itās a pc I built and only just happened since the new keyboard but maybe itās using a feature my older kb didnāt. But Iāll check this out thank you! š
Cpuz had some issues last I checked, try hwinfo I think thatās has it as well?
If not Iād trust the bios setting over a readout
Right but you donāt usually build laptops, I guess I should have said desktop pc.
"Personal Computer" does that mean a phone is technically also a "PC"?
Cauz they are computing devices, and they are personal.
@ashen spindle this infinity fabric sync bs never made sense to me š ram timings are one thing but it's getting silly now
EXPO is clearly working, command rate is 1T which is also good
It's a reference to the IBM PC, and it's compatible derivatives.
Ah
If you just use expo anyway itāll set itself correctly so you donāt need to worry about it
yeah I think 1:1 isn't a thing on 9000 series any more
3000:3000:2000 is as good as it gets for my setup
It was really only an issue on ddr4 it wasn't even that big of a gain on 7000
With ddr4 it had a large latency improvement and am4 was memory latency bottlenecked massively
They made huge improvements on am5 so it didn't have the same impact
Hwinfo has the actual clocks in the sensor window not this general overview btw
You can read out what uclk, fclk etc are there
I think I have it set up fine, I found an app called zentimings which is 1000x easier to read than AMD's official software
am5, especially the x3d chips don't scale at all with ram
it's quite minimal yeah
raise fclk until regression, don't bother with ram
you have to go to absolutely insane bandwidth to see a couple % above just having a good latency 6000 kit
honestly, the sheer fact I'm even on cl28 puts me in the 0.X%, most reviewers don't even seem aware of it's existance for whatever reason
despite the fact it's only a tiny bit more than the mainstream cl30 kits
oh i just remembered my new mobo came with thermistors
i wonder where i should stick them
depends on subtimings as well, this is my really shitty 7800x3d
Wasnāt available on release so no point changing stuff now and thatās just one timing which doesnāt even matter as much as secondary and speed primarily
6400 would just not boot on any tCL
also overclocking ram on am5 is the biggest pain in the ass, 40-60 seconds boot times because of ram training
is messing with core isolation etc still a thing?
Everything still exist but nothing changes much really unless you go to big lengths like 7200 ram with super tight timings and lots of treating etc.
But even that only does a bit on non x3d
I've always been in the school of latency is king and nothing's changed my mind yet tbf
Well yes everything is latency in the end
I wait a few years for mem timings to mature before moving to the next gen each time
I feel like the ultra bandwidth stuff is just epeen bait with almost 0 ROI
I just hope next platform is lpcamm2 and no OC settings and itās just take it or leave it
I just wish the settings stopped getting more and more esoteric T_T
christ, I felt better about setting up a PC BEFORE EXPO and presets
Nah, itās better because that means the settings change less
wdym, just punch in the numbers on the box and you're good to go
Put in hardware, enable expo, done
it's also a good way of telling how little someone knows about what they bought
since typing in 4 numbers really isn't a big thing
You canāt get much from OC anymore so just basic setup being stable and getting basically all the performance is ideal
aye, the void between what mobo vendors and cpu manufactures spec is hilarious
NINE THOUSAND MHZ RAM OC+ on the box
official spec: 2600mhz
Well yeah one is saying we can do this, the spec is saying this where we guarantee stability
monitors and gpus. 540hz screen, AAA gets 30fps
yeah but the stability is guarenteed at last gens ram speeds š it's a bit fucked up
Intel then insults amds gpus and they go to war
I donāt think Intel has anything in the gpu space they can use as a gotcha
honestly if a shooter can't run at least 200fps on low graphics on a high end setup it's dog water to me
I know frametimes are the real metric but they're not displayed often or easy to read in realtime
as always it just comes down to unreal engine ruining everything š
UE normalised texture pop in borderlands etc, a problem I'd never seen before because it never needed to be one ffs
Nah itās not really unreal or any engine at fault
Uncharted 4 looked great on PS4 at 1080p@30Hz.
Let's scale to today's "standards": 1080p->4K = 4x pixels. 30Hz->240Hz = 8x fps. 4*8=32x cost. That's half of the 70x perf difference. UC4 lighting was baked. Add real-time lighting for 2x cost. No perf left to improve quality :(

Iāll never lie like that
it's the twitter equivilent of tuning it off and on again
jerk off Elon's ego with the most meaningless compliment possible
Anyway point was itās no one thing or engine at fault, itās the fact the needed changes like realtime light are exponentially more complicated and costly and frame time isnāt a linear thing
where is 240hz "standard" i wanna live in that world
Heās talking for a 2k gpu setup
Since the quoted tweet is about needing ai frames to reach targets
I'm convinced 4K gaming being playable is still 4 years away with how 1440p feels already š
or maybe it scales way better because it's all fake resolution now anyways
christ, I miss 1080p native frames already
oh well, I'm just waiting to be able to use my gameboy camera as a webcam anyways (this is not a joke)

stupid mobile link made me think this wasn't posted already
Dashi you are rarely first to anything
If you play at 1440p it'd be decent enough
I'll say it makes things a bit odd considering that most people with this class of gpu will play at 1080p
Lets just hope the 9700xt is decent
it doesnt matter beacuse we get new gpus this month and this cant even beat last gen at the price
so theres no real point recommending it to anyone for gaming
Someone who only has 250usd
But 5070 $549
get this if 250 is the hard limit
Perhaps you should focus on getting your life priorities together
And not buy videogames
I always feel a bit odd about the concept of a hard limit
Like
If you're that tight money wise
I wasnt the one who said "Someone who only has 250usd"
Maybe focus on more essential stuff
No
Fuck this
Culture shouldn't exist only for those who can afford it
I was merely showing even if thats your limit just get something else and dont deal with all these issues
Not what i'm saying
It's about the concept of short term vs long term
If you already have some money aside for emergency and just make a low wage then yeah makes sense to keep your spending reasonable
But most people will have a hard limit and use money they technically can't afford to spend
Put it on a credit card or pay monthly over x amount of months
A gpu is a luxury not a necessity

Where it shouldn't be
In the long term we are getting shafted by tech corporations which ask for absurd amounts of money for their tech
Leaving impoverished people without access to many aspects of culture, such as videogames
In the past you could buy random GPU and enjoy new games on it
Nowadays you need high-end GPU just to run some of the new games
This is absolute bullshit, but I guess share price goes up, so all is good in the world
The fact that no one bats an eye that 5090 costs absurd $2000 is enough to see that
I make good money and I would never buy a 5090 xD
I make good money and I would buy multiple 5090s
but muh AI
wonder if the 5080 would only match a 4090 or beat it
It's pretty cut down, so no
5080 is like half a 5090
hard to say, the faster memory could do a lot, 40 series is quite bandwidth starved
and half a 5090 is not a 4090
Affordable options do matter, I've just seen too many times people buy them when they really shouldn't financially speaking
Yeah the GDDR7 and AI will make up for it
Like if you're that strapped for cash, evaluating your financial situation properly before a purchase is important
nah I'm not counting dlss fuckery just raw specs
28FPS in CP2077 4K
Ah then yeah the GDDR7 will help ofc

are you even trying to check at this point xD
its even the same link
alos they are not working on it they are making it for rdna4 first and then see if it can work on 3
So probably pre-trained models for RDNA3
yeah it says "might"
it could also be its not even using too much GEMM and rdna3 could handle it, it could just be rdna3 clocks way too low for it to actually increase frames lol
after all you need to keep in mind if you take 10ms to make a fake frame thats not going to do much
Yep
How many more cuda cores does 5090 have over 4090?
dunno, dont care, doesnt mean anything really
"requires substantial comp power"
if you want to know look up a specs table for core counts
but without knowing clocks and uarch design cuda cores dont mean anything
did it for you
you're welcome
Also I think a lot of people would be not really happy if they only announced that FSR4 works only on RDNA3 high-ends (if it even works)
well, if it just doesnt work, it doesnt work so we'll have to see
work as in actually increase your fps, no point having it work but it lowers fps xD
But also pissing off people who bought expensive AMD cards wouldn't really be good for them
Ah, so it does have more cuda cores, but lower boost clock.
Especially when the 7900xtx marketting pushed the ai accelerator thing
anyway i think that the 5080 will have quite some room for overclock with the new gddr7
cuda cores arent the same between different architechtures
True, they do change
Already did in a way
ROCm official support for RDNA3 is laughable for consumer GPUs
And they marketed them already as AI-optimized
Yeah don't take that as like 1:1
Fair
But do you want them even more pissed off
1500 watt PSUs would have to be used to power this thing lmao. Along with competent hardware.
Being told that my old 2080 handled ai upscaling but that my 7900xtx can't do it when they advertised 1st gen ai accelerators would be uh
Annoying
At this point as a company I wouldn't care, but focus on new users
RDNA3 buyers are still too fresh, they'll most likely skip new gen anyway
2080 which... gets some of the new dlss upgrades nvidia announced even tho its years old
A bit like when they said b series board wouldn't support new cpus
Reading this again makes me think raw rasterization has hit a bottleneck
and they need Machine Learning to do more
sue storm|| gyatt ||tech
Was nice that they backtracked on that tho
@balmy vector post the keycaps when you recieve them in the mail
Im waiting to see which ones come back
That's a bit different
There were lots of people on old Ryzens on B-series boards, so lots of potential new buyers, especially due to new X3D tech
what? no not even close lol
X3d wasn't a thing back then tho
1000W is fine
Every website says you can use 1000W with a 5090
you wont even hit the full powerdraw in gaming just like the 4090
Yeah exactly
and even if you would, the rest of your system is like 200W max
and that would include some heavy cpu that isnt fully loaded if your gpu is
Yeah unless you got a 14900k lol
So with 50 series being kinda disappointing and all that, do you guys think i should buy a used 4090 for $1200-$1300 + NO tax or a 5090 for $2000 + tax
You found a used 4090 for $1300?
So used 4090
given you arent even guaranteed to get a 5090 for a while, and AiB cards will cost even more
Well nah if im getting a 5090 then its a FE on launch day
well, good luck winning against the bots trying to buy it lol
did they post benchmarks yet
you want to stand over night in front of the store?
Yep
did they even confirm they will sell FE cards in retail and not just online?
But im disappointed with the 5090 so i dunno if i should go for a used 4090 instead
not till like a day before launch
They do it every gen so why not
FE cards? they have been reducing that more and more to online only
And im gonna call a few stores a few days beforehand
makes it so they dont need to deal with retailers
Bestbuy already confirmed theyre gonna have them
Right lol im sayin
but if you can find someone panic selling their 4090 thats going to be so much better value
