I think you forget that Google can simply decide that you don't deserve an addon and disable it off your browser if it was fetched off the app store

They prolly won't break the functionality, but they will disable it off the app store, and so goes your addon

thats because of what permissions and features aka manifest v2 things it uses

they can not just randomly break stuff without it breaking a whole lot of other parts

also that popup is something you can jsut ignore and enable it when you see it
