Managed to find the new 8bitdo controller in stock. £25 for a generic (appears as an Xbox 360 controller in device manager) Xbox layout controller with hall effect joysticks and triggers. 20 hour battery life over 2.4 Ghz wireless as well (dongle included). Hopefully the d-pad and face buttons actually feel good though.

It's also crazy that the 2.4 GHz wireless adaptor that 8Bitdo include with a £25 controller has lower latency than Microsoft's Xbox wireless standard. Also better than using a Switch or PlayStation controller via Bluetooth as well.

Just encountered a strange bug

Tried plugging in my xbox controller for the first time since I got the 80HE. It wasn't working in game (lies of P) so I figured it probably had something to do with the gamepad function being enabled in wootility. Turned the function off and then my controller now works in game, but the keyboard no longer works. as in windows doesn't seem to register any key presses. But I went back into wootility and it was recognizing that I was pressing keys (actuation point tester was working). Tried closing wootility and it didn't help. Had to restart my PC to get the keyboard to work again.

That one isn't really an issue, since it does do CRC checks. But updating a BIOS while in a large OS is begging to have to crash midway and fuck the BIOS completely 😄

Depends on how they did it, pretty sure the standard way UEFI is updated from the OS results in a reboot to where the actual updating is done, to minimize the chance of fuckups

Yeah I don't trust bloatware I would just download the latest and greatest firmware from the website, put it on a stick and use the update utility in the UEFI setup to do it

You can also hold shift while clicking restart in Windows, and then you get to the boot menmu where through some clicks you can get to UEFI firmware setup
