You can just get something like this and never worry again though https://www.amazon.com/MSI-QD-OLED-27-inch-Response-Adjustable/dp/B0D68C1BVS/
Jesus christ the tracking links
i got the samsung g6 osd oled
pretty good
i would of kept my alienware but that auto brightness fucking killed my eyes
Would have *
That one doesn't seem to be a QD-OLED, a gen 2 panel perhaps?
Any recommendations for a podcast app (iOS)? Preferably open source.
Also, motherboards don't just explode
How does a mobo explode??
AORUS ELITE series is usually pretty damn good too
He's talking about people failing to install 9800x3ds
And bending the socket
no the 7800x3d originally had some boards cause short circuits that exploded the cpu
I've seen those but couldn't figure out what cause these spots
he literally mentions teh 7800x3d
and in theory if you never update bios it never removes the bad voltages

I used LGA for years and it's never been a problem
I see, that seems kind of like user negligence and not noticing the issue
Reminds me of the RTX 4090 connectors not being fully in
Tbh that kinda was a proper issue too
Wouldn't B580 be the one that's supposedly "RTX 4070 Super performance"
Lga locks into place the 12v cable didnt really and there were faulty adapters
That and the sens pins thing
Shouldn't those be mostly resolved with ATX 3.1?
Probably, but just saying that the early 4090 thing is not fully user negligence
Well it was certainly likely fully avoidable if the user did properly plug in the connector and hear a click
From what I remember from GN reporting
This seems also like the same thing, avoidable with care
But certainly manufacturer could have done more to prevent this, blame isn't fully off
Yep I did watch the whole thing the click thing was early
There were several videos
And again the sense pins are what should have prevented it it should not have provided enough power to melt if those arent in
Edit: some part of the sense pin connection was too long I dont remember which part
from what I remember even hearing the click it wasn't certain it was properly connected
certainly not a good design if so many people have problems
Hope so because we get another mining boom from the look of things
Huh, is crypto mining doing well?
shitcoin worth lots atm
buy $TAK today
they're gonna crash it again arent they
that's the entire point innit
The good ol pump and dump
desu
Sore ga subetedesu desu~~
@cursive summit id say it's a solid oled monitor
I think you can guess by looking at the dark areas
Yeah that's what I thought gives it away
8/
Is there some weird bloom?
Oranges and pinks stood out pretty well compared to my old monitor too
Tried to take a pic but shitty phone camera doesn't show it that well
Happy with that purchase for that price?
hell yea
I guess if backlight bleed bothers you particularly, it seems pretty good
Is that VA on the left?
That is honestly the general consensus
If you don't tell actual pros which display is which, they can easily distinguish 60 vs 144, however 144 vs 240 is harder
Imo 165/170Hz is good enough and you don't need 240Hz
You also spend a lot less if you go for 170Hz
seeing something move ingame at 200fps did look a bit smoother vs 140 fps
and i dont think ive seen a sub 240hz oled
They all have such high refresh rates
Did you try ufo test? That makes it easier the see the difference in blur.
Didnt yet, I'll play with the screen more tomorrow
60/120 is standard on TVs
14 hour workday i only had time to watch a few vids and play a match of space marine
yeah. it's good, motion clarity is incredible. I could see pixel aliasing even moving the mouse fast in ow2. but for anything else I now use a janky old CRT I picked up for 10 bux lol
Yeah but on pc monitors they're all pretty much like 240 and above
At least the ones ive ran into
Oled gaming monitors only started coming out in 2021. The first one was 175 Hz. The reason why they are usually high refresh rate is probably because they are somewhat expensive. If you make a 120 Hz one it will not be in very high demand I assume.
Yes.
those are stickers from monster energy cans cause gamer
I haven't used my CRT since summer.
they were good in specs for a long time, but not anymore. brightness isn't great, and especially not 20 years later. motion clarity is imo overrated, the afterglow is quite noticeable. I just like em

this one can do 1440p at 85hz which is upper end for CRTs, and pretty low for flat displays now
yeah it took a fuckin long time tbf
I have never ran mine at above the dot pitch.
what a menace to society
details get pretty blurry at that resolution, I run 1280x960 since I don't want to ride it that hard for no reason
85 Hz looks amazing on a CRT. I'd take it over 240 Hz on an oled any day. And the other big advantage is of course that it only requires 85 fps.
You lot are talking about resolutions and CRTs and shit, when will the industry finally give me a proper 16:10 gaming display
it looks good considering how low it is, but it's not clarity I think, just a different kind of blur
It's very very clear to me.
16:12 gang
I would buy a 4:3 flatpanel that can do 360hz or more in a heartbeat
4:3 is epic enough
Since I went 16:10 it's been hard not to not go back
That extra tallness just makes a lot of difference
Nah 4:3 is meh
I don't mind the 16: part
I just want more height so 16:10 is just ā„ļø
I don't want it as tall as 4:3, I don't want it any longer than 16:, just give me a 16:10
Only if it's curved
Why can't the industry just give me 16:10
Flip the 16:9 display to make it tall.
Again, there's the perfect middle in that, and I just need that :10 and I'm good
UW though is.. disgusting
I cannot understand how people enjoy ultrawides
they're kind of cool curved
I'm good with 2 normal displays, just make em both 16:10
Although I've been looking at those vertically positioned curved ones, and they look.. practical I guess?
I prefer 16:10 to 16:9 as well, but my heart is at 4:3
BenQ RD280U promotes programming productivity with backlight, Fine-coated panel, and advanced coding modes, delivering crystal-clear fonts for improved code differentiation in both light and dark themes adaptable to diverse development work environments. Accessible at a touch of the dedicated Coding HotKey at the center of the function bar, BenQ...
3:2 also fuckin great
The world is not ready.
high-hz 3:2 monitor would be my dream. it will remain a dream. but one can dream
If gamers don't want it, it won't exist
Which is rather annoying
Only some select few cool ones for office use but those are nearly always 60Hz or maybe rarely 75
yeaah... some are for video editing, so maybe there's hope that one can be high hz one day
I love my gaymer shit as much as the next guy but it's all 16:9 which feels claustrophobic
I hate when games don't support 4:3.
Even though it's totally understandable for a modern game.
At least some ones are moddeable like ER.
I hate it more when games are still locked to 60hz, it looks like having someone who just drank 2 bottles of tabasco shit in my eyes
actually maybe I should just play those on the CRT
Those games are perfect for CRTs.
wtf? I haven't had that. had to install an ultrawide mod to get 4:3, ironically enough
Elden Ring
ER at 60 fps looks damn nice, clear and smooth on mine.
But sadly modding is needed for 4:3 so I can't play online.
can be modded out, and I never play souls games online so it's okay
but it still works flawless above 60hz, I think they locked it to hide how awful the optimization is
Here's to hoping From Software's next game can do above 60 natively.
Japan seems so behind on this. I wonder how many there still use 60 Hz screens.
prolly. DS1 remaster does high hz perfectly

but that was developed by polish übermenschen so who knows if from gives a shit about it
DS1 modded has a bug with ladders when fps is uncapped. Still my preferred version.
I hated hated hated hated hated that port, hated it
Prepare to Die? Yeah it's bad.
Amazed how it happened after being memed into existence though but yeah gorramn it was rough
But with the mod I forgot the name of it becomes the ultimate version of DS1 on PC.
dsfix? I oddly enough didn't like that too much either. I finished the PTD edition unmodded twice for some reason
You don't often see games where the render resolution is fixed and can't be changed without mods
remaster was a dogsend, lighting is a bit weird in that version but the advantages far outweigh its weaknesses imo
Yeah dsfix. I do like unmodded too (because of nostalgia).
The low resolution 30 fps + heavy motion blur original reminds me of when I first played it so it's highly nostalgic.
fun fact, the author of dsfix formed a company that ports PC games
this year, he released the (so far) only game that officially supports SGSSAA, a technique that died out with dx9
and it's some weeb game
Oh yeah what game was that again?
After the war, Calvard is enjoying unprecedented economic prosperity. However, the public grows uncertain as the number of immigrants increases and political reform runs rampant. still the weirdest gaming news of the year for me
Why does almost every Japanese game have combat like that.
I dunno, I haven't played a jrpg since the PS2 days, didn't have time for them anymore once I started work life lol
but from the screenshot it looks like the FFX fight system
which was.. okay I guess. I still like the active time battle system from Chrono Trigger the most
It could also be used as a secondary monitor
Ehh.. I don't follow the logic
You usually buy those because you plan to move around a la.. Steam Deck or such
Yeah
They are not great for primary monitor usage, or secondary for that matter
If you are too far back from it
You will have a hard time using it as a second monitor unless you use a really large scaling percentage
You want screen estate, 27" is perfect
What size is your current display?
But you said you were thinking of getting this as a second monitor
Which means you already have one, usually
Ooo unity!
I'm currently just using a laptop. I plan to buy a PC with a monitor pretty soon.
Ah....
16 inch sound be fine as a second LAPTOP display...
But definitely not for a second computer display
While my main rig is borked I'm just doing some 2D shit
I don't mind Unity, seems fun
Is ok xd
You don't want a small display lol, 17" is tiny compared to a 32
27" is just perfect for everyday use
Gaming, work, etc, 27 handles it all
And usually they don't have any problems fitting on your table
Mine is 20 inches.
Unlike UWQHD
This is gonna be my main monitor by the way https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8Q6S98S
EX270QM features HDRi that optimizes color performance, detail contrast, and image clarity add intensity so games look their best and you see every strategic detail. Its bezel-less design opens screen space and eliminates distracting edges that can take your eye off the action. The 240Hz refresh ...
So you're going with that one?
49 inches is better
go 49 inches
5120x1440
It's more affordable
Well, I have a 27" IPS and it's pretty good
Bigger number means more better
Eh
š§
That's not always the case,
Unironically true. Not for size though.
Like the CPU's for instance, they could have the same series at a older model and still sell the same system for a higher price in a newer model
Well the BenQ is Gsync compatible so I guess that's fine
You really don't want this lol
gawd dayum
Its a gamechanger
You do Dashi, love, but nobody else needs that lol
Nothing double 27 can't handle
bezels
I see the flex, you clearly have bank
Evorist could you look for more displays?
I made @crisp granite join the club so yes everyone needs it
Clearly
Cause the one you picked out the BenQ is not certified by Nvidia
I like thick and very thin bezels. But not really ones that are in the middle.
Look for one with GSync
ugly bezels ):
Not a problem imo
Which would you recommend because I'm at the short end of a stick here...
Well, everyone's got their preferences
How much are you willing to spend on a display?
I'm already spending 3k on the PC itself
I ran 3x24 inch before and going with a single 49 inch was just... gamechanging for me
I don't really need more than 2 displays so that'd just be insane
So.. how much?
good mouses on a budget?
Give me some display and I'll think about it
Yeah sure
Is that still with an RTX 4090?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Fractal Design Pop XL Air ATX Full Tower
It's a good build tho, I like it
That's already a 500$ display
yeah
People been telling me windows is better
4090 is 800$ on top of that 4080Super
No, it's not possible
And I don't want to be that guy but we are pretty damn close to 5000 series...
Brother, I am not saying you should not get Windows, I'm saying is that you don't need to spend 130$ for Windows
Windows is, technically, free, you can never activate it
I ain't pirating bruh
you dont need to pirate it
Just buy a 5$ key and it'll be a legit purchase
Just buy an oem key for 10$
Those 130$ retail copies are for businesses
Fair, i just like having space to do everything :3
Businesses buy those
On the website right?
It is entirely legal to keep Windows unactivated. Just have to live with the obnoxious watermark, or pay a suspect seller on eBay 2-3 bucks for an OEM key.
No
What, no

Wtf lol
jking
It you like giving daddy ms 130$ that's your call
I'm laughing at you for it tho
I got a job sister
š¤£
Anyways, Evorist, just remove that 130$ Windows copy from the list
alright
I just enjoy saving money XD
How do you think i can afford my giant monitor
Anyways instead of that Windows copy, you should prolly get this display https://www.amazon.com/MSI-MPG-271QRX-QD-OLED-response/dp/B0CTS1RQ6Y
If that one is too expensive, get this one https://www.amazon.com/MSI-QD-OLED-27-inch-Response-Adjustable/dp/B0D68C1BVS
I'll check it out

Didn't someone say today that they haven't seen OLEDs below 240Hz?

Pog deal if anyone wants a 1440p 165hz gsync monitor
Got one for nico for 200cad :D dell has a 30 day low price policy thingy and i got it for 250cad and i just sent their support an email when it dropped to 200cad a week later and they gave me a partial refund
Pretty sure they'll have it go for 200cad for black friday and its just... a really good deal
thought i'd let yall know in case you needed an affordable option
Hold on a minute, is MSI selling the same panel but artificially nerfing its display rate with the 271QRX and 271QPX
I think they have the same panel MSI has just locked the 360 option
I wonder if there's a way to flash the other's firmware and unlock the 360 on the cheaper panel
Maybe "bad" panels that couldn't hit the refresh
?
I guess binning is a thing in display world too
it's gamechanging
yes
even a broken clock is right twice a day
Dashi is no different
I will hard disagree as I could literally not even put a 49" ultrawide on my table lol
27" is perfectly normal, ultrawides are overkill and also inconvenient
Anything's a dildo if you're brave enough
What
Wait wrong item
Toaster???
hun, this better not be a repeat of the cacti incident
thats kinda nice damn
i didnt wanna buy a monitor yet now im tempted
Tak you are not Canadian are you
bro im in need of advice, wooting 60he or 80he?
What layout do you prefer?
Then 60 would be enough, not like its super behind the 80
alright sounds good, thanks
Whatās the best consumer grade action camera rn. Like 300$-450$ Also r they good for taking still pictures? If not should I get a separate camera?
Pretty happy with my Ace Pro
Though could go a bit cheaper DJI's offering
If you want most accessory support probably best to do with GoPro
The thing to note though is you need another device to view the stills or videos in full glory, they got hdr and 8k now.
Thatās what I was thinking but it isnāt as good as insta 360s
Yeah
Insta 360 does have a lot of offerings
Like perhaps you want the 360 cam j have no idea, that is up to you
Idk how good r insta 360s at mounting
Like can they mount to headbands and the handle and stuff
Canāt I also get an adapter
For basic stuff like that check their site.
Alr
Perhaps there are more accessories out now, I just bought a cam and strapped it to my float wheel time to time.
Is it good at still pictures or would I be better off with an older Samsung camera
Idk the model which would help a lot in this discussion but itās my dads
This is not gonna help you much, but the best camera is the one on you. As far as action cameras go, they got pretty good processing now. You can pull a raw photo if you wanted to edit it too
Mighty cute tennis ball there
He took that from downstairs I am guessing
I currently have this PC I bought from Newegg.
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali549/p/N82E16883360169?tpk=1
However I tend to move a bit and it quite annoying having to do 3 trips for my pc / stuff alone and would like to build a pc like this, that I can carry with one hand without giving up performance.
https://youtu.be/wbujLJ25oUU?si=l-1HJfBzQ9Fu_Kfm
Will I see performance issues with this build? What are your guys opinion. Thanks!!
Note: One thing I noticed is that my pc has the gigabyte aorus 3070 ti and is being listed on amazon for 950, whereas the build has a 4070 super for 550. Wondering why thatās the case.
#pcbuild #jonsbo #asuspcdiy - It's been one of the most requested videos on the channel, it's time for the Jonsbo Z20 to make an appearance!

Its the same parts as a regular pc just smaller
You can reuse some of your current parts
Just reuse your 3070 ti
That 3070 is probably sold by a third party seller which is probably posting at that price to rip someone off
<@&1098943457654997093>
Guy already has a 3070 ti he doesn't need to buy anything new
True. However he can also try to sell it and buy something new
But that GPU is plenty
Pain in the ass not worth the time yet
Hr should just focus on buying everything else
Then if he feels like selling his gpu to upgrade he can do that at the end
And get a proper view of how much money he has to spend
Instead of just guessing
Cuz he'll have everything he needs already
Yep
Tbh I would try to sell that pc and see what he would get
Sell it without the GPU, and buy a am5 system with whatever he gets
Did anyone get this monitor here? https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-swift-oled-pg27aqdp/
I know and the ai looks gimmicky but fun
It also brightens up dark rooms so you can spot people hiding

Epic motion clarity.
No proof!
I regret getting an ultrawide :c
I miss my ultra wide
But only when playing Minecraft
Every other game I'm perfectly fine with 16:9
Same in Insurgency Sandstorm
But the whole point of night mode in that game is to put on NVG so you can see
Which take up 3 load out slots -.-
Yeah I honestly donāt know why I got it
I guess I wanted an oled at the time
OLED ultra wide???
lol
I want š
Maybe itās just widescreen and Iām calling it ultrawide
View the Alienware 34 Inch Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3423DWF) featuring VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400, or shop all Gaming Monitors at Dell.com.
This one @wheat plume
That does look ultra wide
Nah youāre crazy if you donāt love Elden ring, Witcher and similar games on that wide fov
It gives such a nice extra viewing over default 16:9
same in mmos and other games that arenāt just competitive fps
It is.
I donāt remember what I played Elden Ring on if it was widescreen or my other monitor
Super Ultrawide or nothing
Elden ring doesn't support UW
unless modded
Ohhhhh Smort 75% of the screen for you and 25% for moumou
i heard its a good monitor. @balmy vector got the 240hz version of that line
Neat
i would of bought it but its like 1.4k cad
Iām gonna keep on eye and hope it goes on sale or just buy it outright
its a bright boy for an oled
I have a 4070 right now but thinking about upgrading 4080 super to boost my frames mainly, but worried since the 50 series are around the corner. What should I do š
wait
for next gen gpu
They do look neat
Yeah just wait for next gen
Forsure, i will probably just upgrade my cpu at that point too. Thanks for the help
anybody got a good 2.5gig nic recommendation?
I donāt dislike it; just feel like itās a little too much screen
for me they're a bit too wide in relation to the height, a 21:10 ratio or something would be interesting
Iām looking at monitors too, i really want an oled with 240hz. Right now thinking of the Corsair Xeneon 27in but would anyone have another recommendation. Budget is $600-$700
MSI MAG 271QPX
or the Asus XG27AQDMG
271qpx the one to go for
$579 360 hz
aw2725df is $699, better but not $120 better

as someone with an ok but not great xlr setup I feel like it doesn't make much sense to go for xlr over a usb microphone, if you aren't going for top of the line stuff or need low latency monitoring or another specific feature from an interface
an actual answer to the question is that I don't think it will be a bad setup
But you could probably get similar performance for cheaper with less parts and cabling cluttering your setup
Why you should not use Chrome
Fuck Manifest 3.0
Can you download it though?
I suspect you can't cause I browsed the comments and I saw people agreeing and providing workarounds
They have Ublock Lite which is compatible
But i agree, firefox superiority
Is the Manifest V2 and V3 stuff specific to Chrome / Chromium or all browsers?
netscape navigator
Chromium
nevar forget the og internet explorer killer
But Chromium is like what 80-90% of worldwide marketshare
So whatever Chromium does everyone else will have to do
Depending on the mic, XLR sounds totally different
xlr doesn't sound like anything, its just a connector
XLR to USB compresses the audio majorly afaik so there is actually a big difference
Me and my fiance both use Samson q2u's. His over usb, mine over XLR, and his mic couldn't sound more different, different noise gate thresholds. Functionally acts like a whole different mic. If I swap to XLR over his dac it's back to being similar to mine.
usb mics are usually self-contained with audio interface and mic preamp built into that has to be powered by the limitations of usb power, so you're not going to get the full potential of a more powerful mic
using the xlr gives you the option of using whatever interface/preamp you like
not saying it's gonna sound the exact same, just saying you can get a nice usb mic for less than 165 that won't be far off
100%, unless you feel like you need your voice sounding really true to life, it's extra cost you don't need on an average setup
Yep.
usb mics are more than sufficient for peoples usual microphone uses like video calls/conferences, gaming voicecom etc
Less of a hassle too.
Less wires
Personally I'm a wireless headset enjoyer for that reason.
I have both usb and xlr on my mic but using the usb 99% of the time, xlr will come in handy should I want to actually record things with relative quality
my vr headset sounds so much better than my regular setup that my friends were surprised and asked if I had a new mic
technically usb mic but not a budger option

I will say physical volume knob on the interface is really nice but that's about the only benefit I care about š and probably not worth 80ā¬
i want a mic that only picks up my voice and not everything else
thats why i wanna spend a little bit premium
most mics for these purposes are directional by design, and softwares like discord has pretty sophisticated noise suppression algos for only picking up your voice
my family can be louder and discord noise suppression still picks it up
like i need to mute myself bc my friends ask me tf is going on in the background
with discord noise suppresion
background voices are kinda hard to block out regardless of mic tbh
Any mic with a cardioid pattern is fine then, they're designed to only pick up the directly infront of them. If the people are in the same room there's not a ton you can do
they are outside of my room or in complete other room
Use the amd noise supression thing
if their voices are almost as loud as your own there's not that much you can do but temporarely mute
i have to mute myself for longer
everyone tells me my voice is shit with this soo NO
I mean that's gonna do the same thing, all these algos are designed to ignore random noises but pick up voices, afaik none of them can differentiate your voice from people in the background
maybe your voice is shit regarldess of what you do
Sorry had to make the joke

Depends on the mic and volume
hey Google train an ai on his voice and make a filter
my mic was 30 euro from a friend soo
Get a headset mic @steady sail
i wanna enjoy my IEMS
Its gonna be so close to your mouth it should limit everything else from being picked up
Well look you can't have everything
You got a few options
Tough shit xD

Get a headset mic (just leave it on your neck)
am expecting machine learning algos to implement selective passthrough like this soon
Or, get a proper mic that does the job
been using a shure mv7 for about a year now, since these mics aren't wearables its a challenge placing it close enough to your face and dialling in a low enough volume on it to only pick up sound close to it
yeah the mv7 is out of my price range kinda
wouldn't spend its cost on a pc mic either but it made a nice gift
tbh even approaching the ā¬100 bar is excessive for the intended use
Does anyone know the difference between the msi qpx and the qrx? Is it just quantum dot?
Eh, being able to use xlr mics also allows you to buy a used excellent mic on ebay
Also, XLR perfectly makes sense for mics
not when u are Hungarian
Oh yeah, I remember now
dude are you seriously using takmind tokens on these easily researched questions?
Appreciate the info (:
oh ok brother, carry on š«”.
every couple weeks I check back on one of germany's biggest online computer parts retailers on intel sales numbers. they don't seem to sell the 285K anymore at the moment, but the 265K has a combined sale of 90 units
you did it intel, you'll sell a whole 100 265Ks soon!
last time I checked, they had sold 20 285Ks

Saw ublock origin is no longer avaible on chrome. I still have it downloaded so I assume a future update will get rid of it?
you can use ungoogled-chromium for manifest v2 support, or brave
you can get unblock origin lite
yikes so I don't know when it'll break but it just will?
people still get it I havent seen people aside the reddit post mention it
the reason it wont work is app manifest v3 breaking ad blockers
just use ublock origin lite when you start seing issues
when i start seeing issues I might just switch to fire fox ngl
I mean lite seems to work just as well for most people
im happy with vivaldi
so no point changing when just switching add on does the same imo
idk next decade?
whenever the cocaine runs out in the google management office again and they dictate another shit change
v3 took ages and we dont even know of a new plan beyond that so nothing soon
lets not get too hasty with that actually doing anything xD
america, doing something? surely you jest
certainly in the next 4 years I dont see that happening
woo got my unraid server up and running, now my 3 hard drives just needs to come
probably stick with XFS for now
Why would you use either of those for raid in 2024
I am not sure if I should upgrade my ram from 16gb to 32gb since I will be on DDR4 until AM6 lands
am6 likely isn't before like 2028 so you decide what you want/need
Alright, know any game that needs more than 16gb of ram ?
Red dead 2, very unlikely that I would play this game
That's good enough for me. thanks
In fact, I cannot remember a game where it performs better with more ram capacity
Maybe emulators ?
True, so far I will be fine with soon to have this 5700x3d
I have absolutely 0 interest in Win11 but.. why is this shit paid? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/whats-new/extended-security-updates
Why are they forcing peeps to pay for SECURITY updates? They can always continue to roll them out, it's not like 11 is so much totally different that they can't just backwards - engineer them from 11
Because it costs them money to make more updates for it?
Does it though? It's not unlikely that the same solution works on both OS versions
The costs would be minimal
To encourage people to stop using outdated operating systems
Yeah I am also refusing to use an inferior one
No the costs are far from minimal, paying software engineers is the most expensive thing to do lol
Basically because it is created by a team of folks at Microsoft whose fulltime job is being paid to keep these old systems running and safe.
Software engineers, imo, would have the least amount of work if the security updates are mutual with 11, it's mainly just QA
Also there is nothing technical to discuss about it being cracked so no point showing the screenshot because itās just advertising for piracy
Itās not mutual code base lol
Bleh, fine
Keep in mind that there are entire factories basically running on Windows XP to this day. Robots, CNCs and so on and so forth.
I guess that new activation thingy is like the scripts but turbocharged
11 I sincerely doubt is much more different than 10
Microsoft aren't doing it out of the kindness of their heart - but they also don't want entire companies to potentially fail to bad security. I imagine they could charge more if it was strictly aimed at manufacturing.
Well, inferior it is, but behind the hood it's prolly just similar
Then again I'd be always open to sources to prove me wrong
oh sweet I can control the nas fan with plugins
What I mainly don't get is how are they trying to get peeps to pay for the security updates for 3 extra years, when Windows 7 got a free pack update just last year
Win7 released in 2009 and got its last update 14 years later
Win10 sure is 9 years old, and gets discontinued I think next year? But that's 3 years of extra updates they are asking you to pay for
They are really making me contemplate Linux and I hate it
Look dms please and ty
Well then you gotta pay up
Or switch to linux
win7 got updates last year because the extended paid support went up to last year
Windows 7, but the entire UI is hyprland
I do remember some third party window managers for windows from the xp days, that was wild and pointless
KDE folks were like
"what the fuck, all the hardware is supported? I can't work with this"
Intel to unveil Battlemage GPUs next week, launching mid-December The company will introduce two graphics cards. Next week, Intel will reveal its plans for the discrete GPU series codenamed Battlemage. The first models to launch from the new Xe2-HPG-based series are the B580 and B570, as confirmed by Intel to its partners.Ā According to our [ā¦]
yay more flops
This is surprising timeline cause GN literally said that they do not have any Intel GPUs yet nor any NDAs signed
.. sure they can always be just lying cause they did sign an NDA, but interesting
I doubt these will be flops
Maybe they'll get em soon I guess
maybe not in machine learning markets, but if the steam hardware survey tells me anything is that price doesn't seem to matter, people will continue to buy nvidia
Ah so sales flops, that's prolly likely
But as hardware I actually suspect these will be pretty damn good
Well, yeah?
launch != release
These will be mid-range offerings that will be competitively priced
and if its release and reviews tehy might only shipt them out this week
if they make a good sub-300 doller gpu they could gain some traction
Supposedly the 4070S performing model will be like 300$ or something
Which is kinda nuts
We'll see though, I see potential in Intel, but they have a major hurdle
Cost optimizations
Intel can defo set up a good place in the low to mid end, but only if they can avoid the whole division getting axed
AMD is comfortable setting up great performing mid to higher end cards, and NV is as always doing high end
However low end just kinda doesn't exist much, Intel can perform well there
Though with how gigantic Intel silicon is they need to optimize costs lol
If they continue to be in major red numbers like with Alchemist, they will get the whole thing axed
Worked with me, I bought RX 5700
Last time they directly competed at the highend was like... the 295x2
Last time they competed at high end was RX 6950X??
Dashi, that was like 3 years ago
7900XTX is competitive as well lol yeah
I have an XTX
AMD is competing comfortably in high end
xtx is not close to 4090 lmao
4090 is a Titan, idgaf
It's competit e against 4080/80 super
4080S is about a match to XTX and that's all that matters
Not the 90
rdna2 competed, 4090 exists and if amd had a competitor we would have gottent he 4090ti
Is it but i was talking halo cards
keep in mind 4090 is not using the full die
Hence why i said the 295x2 lol
If AMD wanted to make the 7950XTX, they were planning to, and were like "nah"
Hell that beat nvidia back then
It was true high end conpetiton
And they didn't win market share from it
That's the point i'm trying to make
Why do you think it's so hard for AMD to compete with the 4090? What are they lacking?
Even when amd outperforms nvidia, they don't gain marketshare
It's not hard lol, they just don't want to
tf do you mean its not hard, they tried and got skill issued on rdna3
AMD can easily just scale up the XTX
The xtx already used so much power
thats just not true at all either
easy fix, put a 230V plug into the back of the card
Also like I love my XTX but I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for that price mistake a year and a half ago
I got it for 1200cad with it being like... barely a few months old
If it had been at msrp i'd have just idk... cried for my wallet and grabbed a 4080
Cuz when you're at 1500+ cad what's an extra 100cad
instability of what, the interconnect? the physical die?
either way nothing points towards that
It would make this gpu even bulkier because they have convert the AC to DC
we know that in stuff like blender the cards can clock much higher within the same power so its most lilkely a physical design issue in the register file or who knows where that fucks the clocks in gaming and thus limits how well they can do
not an issue of chiplets nor the architechture
Ew that.. price https://videocardz.com/newz/msi-claw-8-ai-revealed-up-to-core-ultra-7-258v-32gb-ram-899-price-and-late-december-launch
MSI Claw 8 available late December First Lunar Lake gaming handheld.Ā The full specs of the Lunar Lake-based MSI Claw are here. Did they forget that the reason people bought the Deck is cause it was actually affordable?
Lmao this shape, they chopped up an xbox controller and put a screne in middle of that ?
Imagine buying this when the RTX 4080 is like just a few bucks short
did you forgot valve said they were surprised how many people jumped to the most expensive model, showing people didnt buy it because of cheap price?
yeah nah that part is working insanely well
Valve buyers are shills, so it doesn't matter
7900xtx msrp be like
I love mine but they borked the msrp on that thing
XTX is currently completely well priced
Currently
oh hey from the cachy server lol
At launch it was.. still fairly priced I'd say
Not at launch @cursive summit
Oh yeah, after many 7900 gre went out of stock, prices from other sellers are crazy like 1200 cad
1500cad 7900xtx vs 1600cad 4080
Considering it performs the same in raster as a 4080 it's fine
The features are worse but you also get AFMF2 which you don't with Nvidia
I know 7900xt can be hand at around 900 cad
At 1200cad it was a steal for me :3
Oh right actually, I got to try out AFMF2 today
It's actually kinda nuts how good it is
Oh yeah afmf2 is good
I love it i use it in forza space marine 2 and a few other games
When I play Stalker 2 with FSR3 I can constantly notice fake frame ghosting
Less so with DLSS3, but they are present
I could not see ANY with AFMF2
I was mind blown, like what the fuck
Afmf2 has a way higher latency tho
yeah no that makes no sense when afmf is literalyl worse than built in frame gen
I can feel it compared to fsr3fg
it literalyl has less data
Yeah, I moved from Arch Linux to a new install of CachyOS. Holy shit, I learned some issues I had with firefox about UI being buggy. Turns out my arch linux install is fubar, not even config clearing for KDE will fix this.
I know but i've visually seen it too, holo scopes have noticeable trailing on FSRFG but not with afmf2
But i'll take trailing over latency tbh
So i'm sticking with fsr3fg for that game
Honestly all I need AMD to do right now is to enable FSR2 and FSR3 to use that neural stuff to make the upscalers better
then its impressive how bad they implemented fsr I the game I guess?
I have honestly never ran stock cachy, but I stole a lotta tweaks from their packages. my arch installations also tend to be quite suboptimal, but I don't let the perfect get in the way of the good š
There mods that adds fsr3.1 in some games.
what neural stuff, you can just make it use black magic ai boxes and expect stuff to be fixed
Fairly common half assed implementation, ready or not had the same issues with scopes and fsr3 actually
so idk if its just
You know, just make it up to par with DLSS's image quality
Half assed or fsr fg having an issue
That's kind of the only gripe I have with AMD, just how good DLSS is
AFMF2 is showing me though that they can do it
dlss is dogshit though
DLSS in my experience is great
at 5120x1440 fsr quality looks good enough
But yeah dlss is better
ew
dlss is only good relative to its competition, I have gotten quite sick of it
Espexially at lower res
The only part of DLSS I am sick of is devs optimizing their games around DLSS
But the tech behind it is nice
To be fair, I broke tons of things because I was on KDE 5 and upgraded to 6. There gotta tons of skeletons in the closet
it's ew at anything lower than quality
DLSS-FG though is amazing
oh god thats even worse
It has some problems in Stalker 2 though, DLSS3, some weird ass stuttering and artifacting, as a tech though I quite love it
Obviously it's worse it's a lower setting
like literally, fsr3-fg uses like half the resources and time to generate the frame too lol
I'd rather play with DLSS3 than native 40FPS lol
you know that just makes your latency even worse though
I play just fine even with that latency
I guess if you can placebo yourself into thinking its better it is better
Placebo or not, feeling good is all that matters
Fg feels awful below like 50fps
oh boy KDE never treated me well. I quite like the maximalist approach and fast implementation of features. if only it wasn't a bugfest. I've been running gnome since 2018 and plan to keep it that way, lack of screen tearing be damned
I remember seeing a twitch viewer reporting the reflection angle is wrong on water surface reflection.
Above 60 feels fine
I have all that reflection shit turned off just to be able to run the game lol
I will have think, because KDE was my choice because of support in Steam Deck for various features including HDR
they tend to have cool stuff far earlier than gnome, who seem very intent on doing things their own way, which (from what I heard) was also a major source of slowdown in wayland development
I get 60-75 w fsr quality on epic @cursive summit i run FG and get around 120-130ish fps
Wasnt the community being slow to agree on some wayland extensions ?
For stalker
Yeah with that card it's perfectly normal lol, I have a bunch of performance tweaks installed that even you'd massively get boosts from
as far as I understand it, the freedesktop community is made up of engineers from various companies and projects, and it was usually the gnome people causing problems
Havent messed with the game at all im just having too much fun
I have currently the RTX 4060 mobile
It's a decent struggle to properly run the game
A580 huh, yeah I figured as much
Rip
and I kinda believe it, gnome still doesn't have official support for a system tray since they cannot agree on a standard to use. but they maintain an official extension that you can install, at least
I love how the comments on every MKBHD video now are just puns about his speeding offences
Lana š post š
Why do people care so much about that anyways
Welcome, lana
Doing 120 mph next to a school is something that people should care about
cause 95 in a school zone.... and he never apoligies or admitted to doing anything wrong
awesome
Was it 95? It was something bullshit next to a school lol
All for a sponsorship
It wasn't a schoolzone it was some like watch out for kids sign
so the best way is just ignoring his content then
Not a real roadsign anyways
idk i just feel like people are blowing this way out of proportion
Not what i remember seeing
No schoolzone sign
This is a hey slow down kids playing sign
my wifi sucks rn .-.
Which has no legal value
Also idk... road looks clear
Was it stupid yes
But it's kind of a nothingburger imo
not like someone's dead
Or injured
People are acting as if he like ran over someone
Outrage is like... disproportional
well the issue is he clearly knew something was wrong when the speedometer was blurred out at those parts
so it doesnt matter if it was school sign or one that someone put into their area
but the best way as usual is just not giving it more attention and not caring about him
I mean... people have done that on youtube for ages and no one gives a fuck about them
Or the famous "we're in mexico" quote
never seen or heard anything like it so not in the area I watch
It's common on car related channels
People do stupid shit and claim they were "in mexico"
Yet that stays on youtube daily it has for years and years
With no one caring
sounds like people shoudl care then?
well as this example clearly shows the same standard is applied and nothing bad is coming from it
The PPS-43, designed by Alexei Sudayev based on a previous submachine gun design by I.K. Bezruchko-Vysotsky, was the Soviet replacement for the PPSh-41. The Shpagin submachine gun was a very effective combat weapon, but was time-consuming to produce and required specialized manufacturing tools. The Soviet military wanted a weapon that was cheape...
I love it, it's just a tube with a bolt and a spring
Sony made headphones like this a long time ago.
Also like... not considering the amount of people who do or have done dumb shit on the roads and welp no one's seen it so it never gets reported
I mean i can tell you if everything i've done wrong was reported i wouldn't have a licence
I mean there is a difference if you do something while also having responsibility as an influencer and public figure
especially if you can fucking just not include it
Then again i always picked my locations carefully
I kinda live in the middle of nowhere
So that's easy
And the only time i got stopped coulda gotten towed but i ended up just getting a small ticket
are you filming it and then showing it on purpose after knowing what you did
no
well then its not the same already
I'm not stupid enough to post a crime on social media
Or the specifics of a crime
If mkbhd's local police dept want to send him a ticket in the mail they're able to do so

I got one invite for a 3 month trial for the kagi search engine left, is anyone interested
Bro could someone tell me why my fans at the top arenāt spinning
Wat dat?
because fans dont spin if its cold enough?
Bro itās reached 100 degrees Celsius and it hasnāt moved
How does it have lighting then
different cable?
lighting and power are usually different wires you need to plug in to two different locations
Is it easy to fix
depends on how its all set up
idk about this stuff though cause my fans dont have RBG xd
yes just check if all cables coming from it are correctly plugged in
Alright
Is Mutahar becoming an unhinged conspiracy theorist now??
yt recommended me a video of him once that was titled "I'm quitting linux" and it was just this guy waffling for 30 minutes, the point being he wasn't quitting linux
-> "stop recommending videos from this channel"
Yep
Bro itās connected
I really doubt hes gonna quit Linux, he even runs Linux under Linux in VM's..same for Windows to play games that dont have anticheat support
Does anyone think having g sync is worth it for a OLED 360hz? Right now Iām between the msi mag 27qrx and the rog xg27.
depends on the games you play and the hardware you're using
I heard OLEDs can't do proper VRR or something
Mainly fps games like Overwatch and cod, planning on getting a 5090/5080 when they drop and I have a 3070 now š„ŗ
vrr is still laggier than tearing, but less laggy than vsync
so for comp shooters prolly not the thing you want unless tearing distracts you
They can do vrr but it can come with a flicker effect in darker scenes
So would getting g sync be a good move? Or is g sync the issue?
Like is it worth an extra $120
Surprised prosecutors arenāt going after such an easy case
I wouldn't say so
Not a a gsync issue just a overall vrr one, ive used oled vrr my entire time and the dark scene flicker isnt that big of a problem for me personally
Forsure, much love all around for all the help!!!! ā¤ļø
send me your 3070 plz
I haz gtx 1660 š¢
Iāll make a note to reach out when the 50s drop š„ŗ
I think VRR is neat but at 360hz I may as well use v-sync
in fact, I could not tell the difference in a blind test
well its different usecases
if you drop below your screens refresh rate you want gsync since vsync doenst cover that
All depends on the panel honestly
is the attack shark r3 or r2 a good mouse?
what case you got?
stalker be like, 7800x3d cpu bottleneck
turned off framegen to take this screenshot
the microstuttering is all over the place in prypiat
:(
you probably dont have the power plugged in and just the rgb
muta has heavily fallen off
I used to watch the guy too
but he just has some down right horrible takes
plus bad clickbait
I've pretty much never watched him except the odd video.
I don't understand the desire to watch someone laugh and rant about a topic
I like his creepypasta stuff still
I hate his face
added rgb underglow to my wooting 60he to make the tofu acrylic case shine.
Nice that makes it look better
migu
hello what is the diffrence of the lg monitor 32gs95ux-b and the 32gs95ue-b
Nzxt
Maybe idk how to do all that
take connector put connector in connector shaped socket
I have a question
I have an order for the 80HE module, so I need to buy myself any tools? (screwdrivers)
I don't have any screw driver myself and its still black friday ish so I wanted to ask or it is included like the case (I also ordered the zinc alloy case)?
any specific I have to get or just Phillips?
thanks
just get a set š
That is why I ask
Is there any set you guys recommended?
I got a keyboard specific one, I would recommend to not get one of the super cheap ones with dual injected handles like this
they just fall apart
IFixIt maybe š¤·
unless you buy the big set the ifixit bit choice is a bit weird since it is made for phone repair, quality wise it is fine tho
https://fanttik.com/products/fanttik-e1-max-precision-electric-screwdriver
I'm thinking of this one? any thought?
I wouldn't get an electric one myself
just more parts that can fail
- torque of it is less controlled than by hand
ahhh true
didn't think that far
thanks for the input
they have their uses, but for general purposes I would not get one
ratcheting is massive overkill imo just get something with a metal handle ideally
since those basically cannot fail
I got a nanch set and a fixed wera set and both of them are really good
and the amount of torque you can apply with the thin wera handles is much better than with one of these
yea but they cost quite a bit more
I would recommend the wera kit but their driver selection is quite limited since it is fixed drivers
wera my beloved
holy the more I dig in the more complicated it gets
I just no electric and just a swappable driver with the ph1?
get one of those nanch ones if you want a high quality precision set
https://kbdfans.com/products/nanch-precision-23-in-1-magnetic-screwdriver-tool-kit-set these ones - a whole bunch of stores sell it rebranded (geon, swagkeys etc)
thank you so much for the recommendation
I will check it out
the rebrands can vary in bit selection
ik geon customized it for his set for example
But all the big YouTubers use them!
arent they all sponsored by ifixit
I was kind thinking of getting a mako kit
only been using a random mix of different screwdrivers most of my life
More than likely
xAI picked xeons.. but how many? https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/big-tech/intel-ceo-pat-gelsinger-visits-elon-musks-memphis-data-center-touts-xeon-deployment-praises-xai-team-for-building-it-in-such-a-short-amount-of-time
Iād love this set; Iāve been using a 15$ I got off of Amazon like 5 years ago lol
I bought it cause my wera set did not work for my F1 and the cheap set I had didn't fit
korean custom boards sometimes have very deep sitting screws
yeah because CPUās are needed for interconnection not because they are better
So people just grab the cheaper stuff that works well enough
Quick googling puts xeon price at $18k. If we use estimation of 1 cpu per 4 gpu in AI cluster, for Musk's 100k gpu config then thats 25k Xeons. But if he expands it to 200k or 300k gpus thats 50k-75k xeons at 18k/pop yields at max. $1.35B USD, excl. possible scale discounts
Yeah or you take the xeons that people actually buy which are list prices of max 3k lol
And then keep in mind literally nobody pays list price
yea expect like 25-50% discounts in bulk lol
Still good news for Intel š
As well as there being plenty 1:8 cpu gpu clusters
Not really because Xeonās arenāt bringing margins
How come if granite rapids are made on Intel 3?
a CPU paying for producing itself > dead stock
might have to do with it being heavily tiled
Because xeons are low margin due to node cost+discounts that are needed for people to buy them
Havent seen numbers relating to their Xeon GR margins
Also itās the same for amd, big one off sales are wayyy lower margins vs constant sales to dell
Well tbf you could be correct they need to be discounted now to get people to buy them, but you need to realize this could be just forwarding thinking on xAI part due to the incoming trump administration tariffs. How will AMD's competitiveness play out after 35% tariffs vs. intel?
Anyway my sushi is ready, enjoy your dreams
Just ordered it
I don't think I fully understand something about actuation points. I have it set to 0.4mm, and rapidtrigger etc all turned off.
If I press down a key beyond actuation, I would expect the registration to end once I lift of the trigger at 0.39mm, but it keeps registering the keypress until I fully let go of the key. Shouldnt it stop registering the keypress at 0.4mm?
