gprox super light
ergo mouse similar in shape to xlite
Just hop on xm2w 4k, goated claw shape
Buddy lamzu Atlantis
2 or bust, v1 doesnt have usbc which is so mid
XM2W 4K > LAMZU Atlantis
its not even out
Will be next wednesday
Don‘t get Logikek
Polling rate and diffrent kord
Don’t get that damn shit hole mouse
maybe it got problems or stuff
why do y’all hate the gprox
how much change does the polling rate make
It‘s a potatoe
mouse "enthusiast" wanna be different so bad
Horrible build and material feels like you’re holding a bean doesn’t fit in anyone’s hand. Well, the performance is not that great.
A lot
1k is dog in late 2024
Get anything but logitech
does the 1st have 1k?
ig you‘re fine with 1k hz polling if your‘re still lagging on 144Hz monitor
the rvm dosent fit in a lot of people hands
I have a 165 hz monitor
I use 2k
i have a 60hz
1k
o
Anything lower than 1k polling rate
its not really a standout mouse these days but its become hip to crap on it, its worst sin is being very overpriced at msrp
Average fornite kid gets the logi gpx and apex pro lol
get a dex
i play overwatch 2
I play siege 🥵
what is a standout mouse these days
2k at 400dpi 😭
Viper v3 pro
800 better?
You need to move your mouse 1.25m/s to even get enough data for 2k hz😭
anything cheaper?
Is 800 better for 2k?
OP1 8K/ XM2 8K
just hop on wired, the cable is pretty gold
i want a new experience
from my razer viper mini
Also wireless tech makes you look like this
my mouse is wireless but that won't stop me from using it wired
maybe lethal cable is good
but stock egg no
@rough osprey which gprox do you have
stock egg cable is the best „stock“ cable out of any mouse lol
Just gotta push the sleeve starting at ferrit core towards the stress relief and then the cable is pretty good
2
ofc lgg cable is better
V34 🤯
should i even consider the 1
tbh am not that versed in mice to name a particular model, is just that you can get competing brands with similar shape/features to gpx for less now
but the price of the gpx dosent concern me
I like how the gpx looks on my desk :)
i would too
maybe used
I like how my gpx looks in the trash
idk I just find it poor value, especially given you put up with g hub for that
so not new
I also don't play any games so don't take advice from me
so i should get the 2
i would get a 2
Same price as viper v3 pro doofise
why are you hurling insults
yall vipers are that cheap?
when i looked it up gpx2 is 130 v3 is 180
big price difference here
Logikek GPX 2 is 120€
VV3P is 130€
yeah wouldn't blow 180 on a mouse either tbh
When I bought my gpx people said nice mouse, then a few months later they said buy a mouse that isn't dogshit 👴
The best mice (xm2 8k/ op1 8k) are only 75€ 😱
so is it just me or does wooting have some of the worst support i have ever seen in my entire life lmao.
Just you
especially given the average lifetime of mice these days
i heard it was good
wooting support is great, once they've responded
honestly, i have a few people with keyboards that came in faulty and most of them it was like pulling teeth but then i had a few people get good tech support too
they are just overloaded
i figured
they're just severely backlogged on customer support
but once they are dealing with your issue they'll make it right
yeah it changed my shipment address to an old address in another state, i contacted them for the last two days to get it changed, they told me to contact FEDEX, so i contacted them and they said wooting has to call and im like LOOOO
and its already shipped
thats so awesome
classic courier
"its those other guys responsibility"
i guess ill be playing email tag, do they offer that kind of support in the discord?
no
I thought discord support would be kinda cancer but after dealing with it from one company I think I prefer it to email
same
i had an issue with a 3d print i bought my sister and contacting them through discord was top notch
oh hell nah
your wild for that

i put in another ticket and another email.. praying fr
cause no one that i know lives at that address anymore so free keyboard i guess
I know a lot of people doing small stuff use discord, but I don't know many companies that actually do cs via discord
Can only think of the one I dealt with
CS via Discord at scale is a minefield of risk
yeah it was a 3d print hub for us, i ordered a 3d print through discord to skip some taxes and fees on Etsy which i thought was funny.
also quick question, im building an all white rig this time with all white pc accessories EXCEPT this keyboard, i know they sell the white backing on wooting but do i have to get the keycaps on this website too
or can i just find any keycap kit on amazon for a full sized wooting
IF i even get the damn keyboard here
I was pleasantly surprised but I can imagine it being a lot worse if it was done differently

hello
sup
Ist the 60he+ or the 80he better?
whatever layout you prefer
But from the specs and Funktions
essentially the same
Ok
8khz and led bar on 80HE
That is really only distinguishment besides key number
any cherry mx stem (which is basically all of them) works
as long as the layout is right ofc
no need to buy from wooting
Is there a way to make the IDE in MS office not suck?
I did the right thing and ordered a 12900KS to replace my faulty 12700KF, since those cpus are 290 eurodollar now
makes by far the most sense for my system that has DDR4 ram and a nutty cooler
looking forward to it
cant make it work with vscode?
the google sheets ide is fine enough that i havent bothered trying to work outside of it
MS office ide
what?
theres some wonky stuff you can do with scripts in office programs (most usefully excel)
it looks like this and its really awful
Oh ha, that looks like a feature that was added back in 2002 and never touched since
I just spent 400€ more than i could have just for RGBs, i don't know how to feel
I can't install that on a work computer.
Pfft, more like the 90s.
instant regret?
Not really, it has always been a dream of mine having these fancy stuff, it's just that it doesn't feel right spending 400€ on rgb while having a 6900xt when i could've got a 7900xtx instead
This is what i bought btw (CPU is for my brother)
if you don't do it now you will never do it I guess
Basically i'm doing kinda of a frankenstein, giving everything i have now except the CPU to my brother, and getting new stuff for myself
I should get some sleeved cables as well at some point
@quaint dew
ye?
6900xt > 7900xt
Also shouldn‘t order hardware on amazon, most of the time it‘s way more expensive
im home now
I still palm grip the RVM
so idk why a bigger mouse while stop me froma palming
I would highly recommend not using the the NZXT ecosystem of products
waste of money and terrible software
and mediocre performance
case is fine
but their software I'd rate even lower than icue
Wat
- kraken is mid as well
I'll mess with it once and that's it, so i won't really bother with it to be fair
Cam needs to be run in the background if you want to have fan curves afaik
Doesn't the pump saves them in memory or something
not from what I remember
yikes
^ ikr
Muh BAckWArdS COmpatIblITy
or laziness
Rectify11 does that and they look nice with that applied
same here ....
what even is that image from, how should we be able to reply to that questions if that could be some ai generated prompt on a random site
Its the 10 year anniversary wallpaper for the Windows Insider Program
I got an email from Microsoft with the link to the forum post and the wallpaper in light and dark versions
Is it worth it to buy a 60he+?
thats what you have to decide for yourself
If you are in the market for the best 60% hall effect keyboard, then yes
if you edit excel spreadsheets: NO
gaming: yeah
Imo you should get a 60he module
Isnt the iqunix ez63 or ez60 better? Because for example of the 0.05mm
I do gaming that is why i wabt to buy a keyboard like this
this is the most bizarre looking keyboard ever
every keyboard has worse software than Wooting tbf
you say that like plasma default windows don't look very similar
LOL TRUE
I mean the theming system has technically always supported dark themes, at least the older one. I definitely have hacked together dark mode to Windows XP, maybe even 98
yeah, its very possible, Rectify11 proves that
Why should i just get a 60he module?
just use a theme, it's very easy to change the colors of the default windows and other stuff like icons
If you already have switches, case and keycaps to install on it
Yes but i dont have them i have just keycaps from my steelseries i use now
or you wanna pick the other stuff Wooting offer that is not available prebuilt
Is the difference that big?
yeah, its a lot
its purely personaly preference
L60 is better to have if you use the analog features a lot in games
for some it makes absolutely no difference
L45 is nicer to type on
thats purely preference
it's essentially the same, getting a size that you prefer to use is a bigger difference
Idk like poling rate and that stuff
In my opinion the Design is weird
OH GOSH NO, the way they add in the arrow keys on the 63% model is by making the rows narrower
I hate this
If i use my keyboard just for gaming is the 60he then better than the 80he?
It all comes down to preference
for example, would you like to access the arrow keys without layers?
Why is 80he better?
8k polling
80HE = larger layout + 8k polling
60HE = smaller layout + more case / modding support + 1k polling
I dont thing i will mod my keyboard a lot i think the only thing would be the keycaps
The 80he would cost me 20€ more than the 60he if i say i dont need keycaps because of my steelseries keycaps. So should i pay the 20€ more and get the 80he for 200€
I wouldn't use those keycaps to be fair, i'd rather get the stock wooting 80he and change the keycaps afterward
I'm actually planning on doing so with these, that will hopefully match the ghost case https://shop.tai-hao.com/products/abs-104-t31bk101
But for now i could put on the steelseries ones and buy then New ones
yeah you could
that's actually cool how the arrows are a different profile
Yeah, although i'm getting those to match the ghost case, i didn't even notice that
unless you really like the layout of the 80he, no
I mean your money your choice, but I'd strongly advise against it
I hope NPUs dont cause issues with Linux once they are installed in every laptop and PC motherboard, if Microsoft get their way anyway, they will be installed on every computer
im already getting deja vus from having this conversation again
nono I mean specifically with lana
okay seems like it was just about using npus under linux
anyway it literally doesnt matter for linux what microsoft wants to do with them
good point
big bad boogiesoft windowsman gonna devour happy feet os
well not listed as pcie device because its not connected via pcie but yes similar to that
well they are quite literally on the cpu silicon
no its not part of the cpu core
its a seperate block on the SoC
the npu is part of the SoC tile, thats the tile that has HDMI, usb etc. logic in it
think like an APU but instead of integrated graphic its just integrated npu
on stuff like amds monolithic strix its set up like this
well yes and no
Ah
So the useless npu is taking up space on the soc
Ffs
the physical size doesnt mean much since stuff like cache and analog logic dont scale donw
Sand xd
so if you have a 3nm cpu core with idk 120million transistors on on mm2, that means you pack as much of that into the cores, but for the memory phy that might only be 10m tr/mm2
because you dont need your hdmi connector to run at 5ghz
so theres no point making it with smaller transistors when its easier and cheaper keeping it big
thats why on this one the SOC tile is on the oldes node, and the silicon beneath it even older because you basically just use that as transport wires for the signal that the cpu cores have calulated

Someone I know wants to get a retro handheld
And he's looking at some random unknown garbage brand on AliExpress that is 30 dollars and looks like it can barely handle Gameboy Advanced
And I tried to tell him to get an Anbernic instead cause they are actually reliable and he's not listening
This is the one he wants to get and I've never seen this brand name before
WTF
Ikr!!!
I'm sure it can handle 3d games!!!!
Totally not gonna struggle with anything above Gameboy level
He has a steam deck already
But he claims it's too hard to use
No
This guy is a friend of my sister
Well.....
Not friend, more like annoying guy who talks to her too often
kek he thristy
He has an rtx 4080 in his PC
Idk why he wanted a Deck or a retro handheld
Speaking of retro handhelds
I need to fix the firmware on my one
Had to temporarily use its SD card to try to get an old Raspberry Pi working again
So now I need to get the firmware installed on it again
I'm going to guess no one has info on this but: does anyone know of a PCI-e switch that could do PCI-e 3x4?
There are dozens of options
The idea is to shove multiple devices into a M.2 slot.
So 2 PCI-e devices sharing 4 lanes from a M.2 slot.
Non m.2 pcie devices?
Yeah but that's not a huge deal, you can just use OCuLink and other silliness.
Well if you are OK with M.2 there's a screaming deal on a U. 2 quad m. 2 carrier on eBay rn
Oh?
Oh that's U.2.
Yea, nab 3 m. 2 to oculink and a oculink to u.2 and you'll be good to go for super cheap
There's a thread on sth
I think they posted the lspci
Unfortunately that's quite a bit more beefy and huge than my silly plans which is just 3x4 -> 2x3x4.
This is probably the smallest PCIe 3.0 option in general
The 2.0 single port switches are smaller
Hm, that's mildly unfortunate then.
I guess this is more of a crazy server sort of thing, but with how few lanes consumer chips have I was hoping there would be some options.
For full on PCIe slots not really
There's a consumer u.2 to quad m. 2 but its only x2
Honestly looking for chips for a stupid project to bikeshed.
If you want cheap pcie switch, this is the best deal I've seen besides ancient motherboards

Found this interesting, it's as you said Quin
The demand is there, sadly, but supply is non existent eh
Some local listings also appeared, 0 supply
Demand isn’t there, if you have 10 units that’s not demand if it’s sold out that’s overclockers and co wanting it even if it was -50% lol
Well even if the few units sold out, there's still than old fashioned, dare I say "brainwashed" folk that always buys Intel no matter what
Sure that’s always the case
I have a hard time figuring out under what circumstances you'd buy Intel not just out of being a fan of that company but of necessity, something AVX? Isn't in AVX Intel actually worse than AMD nowadays or something like that?
Chipset/platform if you need connectivity
With connectivity, do you mean PCIe lanes?
I remember that being a bit of an issue to some users of Ryzen where they are somewhat pushed to buying Threadripper for that reason
Thunderbolt ports, if you are limited by the chipset links etc.
Isn't USB4 effectively the same somewhat
Or did they push out TB5 yet with the 80gbps bandwidth, then there's I suppose a real advantage there
Just the amount of ports and pcie lanes. Some camm2 boards so people going for mem speed would be a reason too
Oo, the legendary CAMM2
I heard so much good about it that I'm still wondering if it's replacing DDR
It’s still ddr
Well, the conventional one
Just not on dimms
Maybe by 2030, who knows
SO-DIMM is probably the first to go, already losing ground and laptop manufacturers have an interest in having these modules be exchangeable.
Not for user upgrades, but because it makes it easier to have different sku's in assembly.
Servers probably not very keen on moving, as DIMM's are far better for density in a rack configuration and large amounts of memory.
That leaves the desktop, probably be a matter of price premium vs performance gain.
Could be that on the high-end it wins pretty fast but the lower end could remain on DIMMS for a long time.
My guess would be DDR7 would probably no longer use DIMMS on the desktop, with DDR6 being where it transitions.
If that's the case late 2020's early 2030's seams reasonable.
server will keep it yes, I dont see DDR6 coming to desktop
theres a big chance after ddr5 we get lpddr6 on lpcamm modules
I can see it happen in the sense that DDR6 DIMMS may be cheaper, and it could very well be that desktop architectures still support it.
As a budget option?
i actually hope its all camm modules for ddr6
it would be cheaper if laptops and desktop share the same so lpddr6 would lower costs for them since they also dont need to make a ddr6 memory controller for desktop then
its just entirely worse for desktop in any aspect
Vega was fairly good with HBM, pricing wasn't that bad either
its not a cpu
And there's theoretical benefits there for productivity or something
latency matters much more on cpu side than bandwidth
I suppose just due to the way HBM is constructed latency is pretty bad
Though the speed is pretty great
HBM I still see having its place on GPUs
Apart from latency, HBM is not something you just slot in some module next to the cpu.
If they figure out the latency, HBM on an APU would be incredible
Strix Halo 40CUs, 16GB of HBM4 on a chip
I'd love that as a SoC
You require tsv's or an interposer, is never going to be a cheap solution, when you go down that route you start competing with other things.
Wdym by license out, it's a JEDEC thing which is like, a massive initiative where AMD and such are part of
Idk the specifics but idk why they'd need to pay JEDEC for it and not just Micron or Samsung for making it
Or SK Hynix for that matter
Yes
they arent going to figure the latency out more than ddr ram, its literally made as a tradeoff to have more bandwidth instead
I think Intel recently (year or two ago) did a combined solution of CPU + GPU + VRAM on a chip
It doesn't have to be physically on top of the CPU as just on the die
what license are you talking about, hbm is literally deceloped by amd and then accepted by jedec
AMD made HBM? That's cool
Do they still make it? Or was it an invention from GloFo days
they never made it it was made with sk hynix
Which is why when you said licencing I was very confused lol
It's a JEDEC standard which is why I was confused
Other than DDR and HBM I can't remember another memory standards
Maybe NAND? Cause Samsung privately designs them?
Anyways if you give me a solution of 8 CPU cores, 40CUs of capable graphics and 16-32GBs of HBM3/4 I'd be extremely happy with that kind of small size package
Intel recently did something like that I remember but I think those were canned
xeon cpu mac with hbm yes
HBM3e is just as good at speed anyways
Great for crunching numbers, Vegas were insane at mining, and that was 2
I do wonder if we will see hbm again on consumer gpu's.
Scale of production has gone up with the AI boom, would not be out of the realm of possibilities for them to return to the consumer space.
Well technically you can buy a rack of Nvidia H100s and that's an HBM3 solution innit?
It's consumer available, not consumer priced
HBM seems reserved for AI solutions as long as that "bubble" as Quin calls it persists
DDR seems satisfactory? Nvidia and AMD should just bump up those bus width numbers
Cheap HBM in the shape of H100s?
Idk how that's too cheap
Well I'm still interested in seeing this AI bubble crash
I for one kinda doubt it's a bubble
But meh we'll see
I see that as a narrow minded approach, it's creeping into everywhere by day
its supply constrained market and HPC used hbm on h100/200 mi300 anyway so even a crash wouldnt make hbm available in cheaper
and it wouldnt cause a change to gpu roadmaps either
60% of videogame companies or something like that are already heavily affected by AI
And that's what I was thinking, an AI crash wouldn't make HBM cheap
even cheaper hbm wouldnt make it to consumer cards
But I am still interested in seeing where AI leads, I am hoping for a revolution rather than a bubble
Anyways, thanks for the talk, have a good one

Hello i need tech help to connect my 3080 to my psu can anyone with experience help?
wym you need help, does the cable not fit?
I dont have any pcie cables I want to know which ones to buy could you help em with that?
did your psu not come with any
I have them in another country 😭 I just have the PSU
I want to buy the PCIE today so I receive it on Monday
just make sure you buy them from the brand that your psu is from since the pinouts are different on different psu manufacturers
Can i dm youv
no
Gigabyte P850M
you can just post links or w/e here
did the GPU come with an adapter ?
no its not a 12vhprw connector he just needs the cables
I can just use seperate 8pin pcie cables right?
3 of them
yeah you just need normal cables, they just need to be compatible with the psu
so easiest if you search if someone on ebay or so perhaps sells cables from the same psu
or if gigabyte sells them directly
Ok i appreciate it alot
Are there any actually decent webcams yet or is it still a "plug a real camera into a HDMI capture device" situation?
Oh there are others.
Why is the stick over $100?
https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/webcams/reach-overhead-content-camera.html
I'll definitely have to do some research though.
I want one for silly things.
No.
That's gross.
I want to do stupid computer vision stuff with playing cards.
ew gross nerd shit
Yes, still less gross than vtubers.
this charger is wacky looking...
no one has to try
You can also buy the screw in stabilizer on the 80he individually?
Oh that's a really smart idea.
That doesn't have the really smart thing though.
The other one has them so close so you can only use a single port at a time.
I think you're missing the point
the reason why they're so close together is to prevent both from being used at the same time so they user always gets the 66w rating
but which ones
the point wasn't missed, but it's a bad limitation in my opinion
if the power cant keep up it is necessary
printing 50 WATT MAX on it wont stop dumbos from plugging in two airfryers
a single airfryer is more than 66 watts
think mine is like 1200-1400w even at full power
the wooting airfryer with variable frytuation draws between 69 and 4200 watts
I have this digital amplifier that has a variety of issues that always get fixed after turning the volume up and down, or slapping it hard
it's all the charm of analog technology, just digital
I ordered my Wooting and it can today and when I plugged it in wasd didn’t work then I unplugged it and replugged it in and wasd opened 100s of programs making my pc crash when I restarted the whole keyboard doesn’t work at all. What should I do
wait I missed this one
I thought wooting only made a toaster?
i'm memeing it into existence
hall effect knobs 🙏
Still working on the nude calendar.
WHAT
There will certainly be knobs on the nude calendar!
THE WHAT

we need the wootfryer before the wootalender
Can someone help me price my mice to sell?
ill take them for 5€

are there no other offers near you?
im just tryna see what i should price them at
someone said 50, 40, and 120
what currency

damnit, 40 yen and ill take it
seems okay

I have no clue, depends what the issue is, how fast the shipping goes etc.
@ashen spindle I hadn't put the house number so they put my order on hold. but I fixed the problem and sent an email. and I live in Belgium.
yeah I dont know how fast things move once they are resolved so no idea
@ashen spindle OK thanks

oh I saw that earlier, and most of the comments are saying that their chairs are still just fine after having them longer than Jay....
I haven't watched the vid but I assume he had very bad luck.
common use over time
Honestly the complaints about the head rest just make me think headrest are even more useless
but given that they have a bunch of those and they all had the same issues shows it's a more common issue, especially with the price tag of 1600 USD
i mean you'd definitely expect better than this for that price
I love head rests for when I lean back.
from all i can see its mostly a lot of plastic where you should ideally use metal
even the screws are plastic in those headrests, the ones that attach it to the chair body 🤦♀️
has anyone experience with 1.5V rechargable batteries instead of the usual 1.2v? do they last longer in practice or any benefit? mostly for quest controllers and similar
dang ltt basically built my pc
same mobo, cpu, cooler and memory, though I got 2x16gb
Less than 2x16 of DDR5 is basically always a mistake
8GB sticks are 16gbit chips with half of the bank groups effectively disabled
so major performance penalty

for me java was my first oop language, and it wasn't that bad actually
Putting together my first wooting, it came with the silicone dampener between the pcb parts, is it just for cushioning during shipping and you can swap it out for the foam?
Thank
I was wondering to buy the keyboard but somebody told me not to cause the keyboard might mess up with my computers Language or something? Cause its an american layout (I use nordic and live in denmark) Anyone who has answer to this?
^ (I know i can use the settings layout in the computer i told them but i dont get what they meant so im curious if it would be a problem or not
Okay thank you!
The keys on the keyboard are determined by windows.
The keyboard send key number 64 is pressed. Windows than has a mapping from that key to an actual input.
That mapping can be configured in windows for every language.
The keycaps might not match though.
You might need an ISO instead of ansi layout though
switching from gnome to KDE after encountering a persistent multi-monitor bug
I'm not finding too many bugs with KDE this time around, it's really pleasant
Which one? I have encountered, oh encountered in gnome, having a couple in kde I am too lazy to report / hard to pin down.
One where one of my screens stays black until it disconnects / reconnects itself Regression in 6.2, the other at work where. displays connected to the igp have a corrupted mouse cursor on non qt6 applications when switching between cursor types. That one I worked around by making the igp primary (gpu was just display out mostly)
Oh and plasma crashes still a thing.
after an hour or two using multiple monitors in gnome, the right monitor freezes, and the keyboard becomes unresponsive. so I'm staring at a desktop I can't interact with, and nothing but cold rebooting works. running fsck and losing whatever I was doing at the time I have zero tolerance for. I like gnome, but I will ditch something faster than a hot potato when it takes my game progress with it 😛
not a single issue using a single monitor btw
Hmm that seems like something that has to be config or system specific.
At least plasma safely restarts itself if the shell crashes
it does not happen under KDE, so I don't know
Could try on gnome with a new user / clean user directory?
Had some wild iszues on plasma with huge memory usage like that in the past.
but it should be mentioned that the left monitor is a 360hz flat panel and the right a 20 year old CRT, so there is a huge delta
I will try this later
bug happens on a new directory too, but keyboard somehow stays responsive if I leave the CRT as primary screen, lol. journalctl indicates an nvidia bug. trying with the open kernel modules
Oh nvidia
this is not nvidia's fault, they have been recommending the open kernel modules for a few versions now. I stayed on the closed ones, because frametimes were better
Guess just bad memories and stuck on x11 on my old gtx 1080
they were problematic for a long time tbf but the driver have gotten pretty good lately
I remember nvidia linux on a 680, that was intensely shit
For now glad I went with AMD but if they continue improving I would not rule nvidia out completely, after some research.
I'm hard pressed to find problems tbh. the issues I have usually come from me thinking I know better, lol
i highly doubt NoVideo will release any reliable driver on Linux in the next few years
I dunno mään, been running pretty good on wayland since version 555
they make a lot of progress really quickly after dragging their feet for several years
but tbf, so did wayland devs
what issues with current linux drivers are you thinking of?
honestly if I plug my still-supported vega 56 into the computer I have more issues, cause the linux driver can't do 360hz since kernel version 5.9
it could do it before, it can do it on windows, but not since then!
Do you still have issues running mesa at the same time as nvidia? as in monitors on gpu + other ones on igp. Does overclocking / fan controll finally work without a silly xorg dependency?
Some things besides. broken wayland I encountered in the past.
I don't have an igpu so I cannot test it, I also don't run mesa alongside, only when I tried zink. it was spotty when I tried it a year ago, but maybe it works okay now.
you can overclock on wayland using this tool: https://github.com/Dreaming-Codes/nvidia_oc/ you can also put it into a systemd service
I haven't found something that does fan curves yet, but you can set them fixed in nvidia-settings
Which as far as I understand is still tied to xorg.
Okay, they have definitely improved over the last year and a half.
Replacing switches on my 80he, do all these screws need to be taken out or just certain ones?
Still, no need to upgrade at the moment will read the consensus when the time comes, if it is even a sensible option at that time.
right channel on my amplifier cuts out -> slap it hard, channel turns back on
man I love how this digital amp has all the jankness of analog
just use whatever works best for you!
I find the mentality of "nooo you must use X because <ideological reason>" kind of deranged, but it did give us the open-source movement so maybe I'm just an idiot
We offer a nordic keyboard layout option, did you know?
Will say, I will choose whatever gives me the best experience, with a preference towards the underdog, more open option with less lock-in (still have an old gsync monitor given to my dad) and most user control.
But I chose my gtx1080 at the time not using linux, because amd was simply the worse option at that time. Will do so again if it happens.
same. if windows served me better, I'd ditch linux in a heartbeat. loyalty to a tool, meant to do a job, is insane to me
That being said part of the job is the joy of tinkering / making it my own for linux, but have had a dual boot for certaingames / vr for some time till I nuked it and didn't bother to reinstall.
bottom side edge if the text is readable
or is that space stab
hm its the spacebar stab
should come off with the screw you got removed
What difference would an ISO and ANSI make by the way? im curious
Oh i guess its just the place im buying from (Danish website) that only offers in US layout
A reseller?
ISO layouts are more common in Europe and ANSI in the US. The easiest tell is that ANSI has a more horizontal enter key and ISO more vertical with a lil protrusion
But since ISO is more common in EU it has more variants for different languages:)
is it really worth it buying aluminium case for wooting or it's not really important?
very important
there is a low chance that the wooting might explode with a plastic case
excuse me?
_>

Buy what you want
lmao .
usually for aesthetics or poppier sound
i care about the sound and weight
i want it to be atleast as heavy as annę pro 2 is
is that 1 kg?
ya
the plastic wooting is like 1.33 pounds
but ig it's worth it anyways right
🤤
AMD really should consider renaming at this point
Advanced Packaging Devices is more accurate lmao
bubble wrap cpu
OAC (oops all cache!)
I'm waiting for them to combine all their powers
Zen5+zen5c like strix point, but chiplet with x3d
If the zen5x3d clocks are to believed
A 8+16 zen5x3d+zenc would absolutely dominate desktop
Zen5x3d 8c will be the fastest for gaming, and zen5c sips power for background tasks
If amd/Ms can get scheduling right
ehh
mobile maybe but on desktop? just keep it regular zen cores so scheduling cant make mistakes
Why do we want c cores on desktop?
mediatek on their flagship soc even stopped using the small A500 cores because they also noticed bigger cores to work if you can pay the extra area cost
You rarely need all your threads at full speed
Zen5c is more efficient
on desktop you dont need max core density since you arent going to run a coudhost on it anyway and efficency for tiny tasks is margin of error anyway
So less power for background tasks
so you have tiny power savings on your 200W cpu at the cost of worse performance if the scheduling isnt perfect and such?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ51aAM58b4 re: dimensity 9300 dropping small cores even on a phone
I'm a fan of innovation, but what if you innovate at the expense of a popular metric? That's what Mediatek have done with their line of flagship smartphone processors. Not only that, there's a secret inside the L1 cache that I found in a back-end slide of an engineering presentation that made my eyes open wide. Why aren't they shouting from the ...
@thick elk spoke too soon, the bug came back after several hours 😂 that means it's either X11 now or plasma
1 day left to go
sff is cool but
But what
yes
my sff case was easy to build in but I put all my stuff on the frame then built the care around my parts
I definitely would want to build an sff
it felt pretty similar to building a computer
sure but i dont think i would ever carry my pc around
soo i'd have to build a secondary pc
can take a small enough sff on my carry on
You know you can build in a small case and call it day. That one fits some very powerful hardware
well i'd still have to check all the measurements and such
naah
i appreciate the wood accents tho, good case design trend
Fair enough that is one part they did not mention
yes the total cpu is 200w, you dont want to spend more power/thermal budget on background tasks
if you actually draw that much power you get a lot of work one so you dont want low power cores
you can max thermal/power with a few cores
its the biggest limit on x3d, hence why they are flipping the package
the all core power draw of a 7950x3d is a lot lower than a 7800x3d+7700x
is the rode podmic the best budget mic?
I would say the best budget mic is the Fifine am8 (for "very" low budget)
i have it
want to upgradew
It's useless to upgrade if you're just doing gaming/streaming/voice chat, for recording your voice/instruments to make music it's usefull to upgrade
i mean i play piano on my pc and plan to stream again
not -sure if that means anythign
HMM OK
whoops
what about the mv7
It is from what I see on the picture ?
yeah that is the am8
the one on the left
cuz thats what i have
so even the sm7b would be a waste
in terms of sound quality
Sm7b is overpriced and hard to drive
@balmy vector
I have a Rode NT1, idk if it will be better than an am8 but it's really good
accurate
thermal paste is so good at smearing everywhere you could think thats what it was made for
I fucking hate working with silicone or any other smeary materials
untrue
i love mine best mic ive ever had
it's overpriced, stop defending a million dollar faceless corporation
the sm7b has been the same price it has always been, it's never dropped price
nor has it recieved any updates
there's plenty of mics that are capable of outperforming or performing just as well for the same or less money
not to mention, the people generally buying this kind of mic aren't using this for professional music production
they're using it for streaming or discord calls
and I doubt the majority of people buying it either know how to get the full potential out of the mics sound by setting it up properly
honestly that fifine at the beginning really impressed me
not the most resolving, but it is very smooth
she's kinda right tho, the Shure SM7B isn't that impressive anymore and basically never had a price drop as seen here. But then again, it's a 16 years old mic
it has a very smooth lower and upper treble presentation which means it doesn't have much detail pickup
it won't be very crispy, but it is smooth
so yeah, in 16 years you'd expect the competition to catch up
the main reason why people, specifically studio's buy the sm7b is because of it's very warm presentation
which makes it great for a specific sound in vocal heavy music
in terms of coldplate flatness, we have no coldplate flatness.
time to pull out the sandpaper
sanding that cooler down might be a bad idea
What would you say a good mic for around 80 @final flame
depends on what you're using it for
given that there's no youtube, twitch, TikTrash info or anything i guess he's looking for a mic he can use for Discord and stuff
Hello so its a game / tech question so i decided to put it here . I’m playing Elden ring on monitor 3440x1440 and have black bars but 2560x1440 doesn’t have black bars what should I run ??? And is it a difference and second. Question can a 4070 run max setting max rt???
get the flawless widescreen app, that removes the black bars and fps limit
and no
well, it can run it but not at any good framerate
Ye I saw some comparison and rt doesn’t make any difference only makes some darker places more dark so ima run ultra no rt
And with the app I can’t play online I like online cause of the messages
tbf, you're going with a resolution that keeps the height at the same pixel amount while the horizontal amount of pixels increases. Ofc it introduces black bars
no elden ring puts two black boxes on the side to keep the resolution 16:9
yeah if you want to keep online play you can use it so you have to decide what you prefer
Yes 3440 has black back but 2560 doesn’t but stretched to non shooter games hurts
well, 2560x1440 is a perfect 16:9 ratio
yes but 3440x1440p has black bars so you only have 2560 for what you see
40 hours in I think ima stick to it I deafeated the hardest boss that I got in my experience so I don’t notice the bars but I will try the 2560
RT never makes sense in any game. Sure, some places look nice with it, but mostly it looks like the whole thing got covered with a wet, shiny surface just to shove RT in your face
cyberpunks benchmark as best example here. The bar scene simply looks to unrealistic
cp isnt a great example for it just because gets usedt a lot, alan wake 2 imo is the way better example because its a super dark game and makes the difference much bigger
You didn't get the point of my message it seems
well you said it never makes sense in a game and just makes everything wet and while thats often the case I dont think its always true
i said mostly
why it never made sense is a whole different topic, because some games achieved true Raytracing on the software side without the need for a dedicated hardware
in fact UE5 has a feature that's very similar to it
thats just not true lol
lumen is good can fake stuff well but it's not true raytracing and very much limited compared to hardware based solutions
Alan Wake 2 is a gem
So weird thing I put in a 2nd GPU into my PC. Now my headphones are making a loud popping noise. I removed the GPU and the popping stopped, but now im trying to figure out how and why this is happening.
Do you think the interference is caused by too much power draw?
But i am only using 1 gpu and it's running fine, but the 2nd gpu i have used it alone before with the same headphones and it never did it.
idk could be a lot of things
could be the second pcie slot powerdraw regardless of how muhc is used
Well, Thanks anyways. It helped narrow down what i thought.
Integrated audio hardware is often around the pci-e slots, and EMI from graphics cards can cause sound quality issues
Ah.
the realistic fix to that is to use an external DAC, so your PC is outputting 1's and 0's that can't be interfered with and then you only convert it to the more sensitive analog form when it's away from the interference
DO you have any recommendations of brand for DAC's?
Well, Thank you . I'll look around
it could also be something else like dpc latency being too high because of the graphics card driver (that can cause audio buffering problems) but hard to say
Usb c apple dongle is apparrantly good?
And very affordable
The 69 buck one?
Sorry just trying to find the most affordable fix, along with trying to not spend any money.
the 10 buckaroo one
a alternative would be the Fiio Ja11
Ah.
Well, Turns out it's the MBD, it can't support Multi GPU well enough and the DPC latency is too high because of it, so found the problem...the motherboard lol
cloud 3 are good 👍
i have a pair of cloud 2's looking for something newer
or other than a hyperx headset
If you can, get mic + headphones instead
cloud 3s are quite similar sound wise, they angled the drivers a bit, but there really is not much wrong with either one
ah, fair
or they arent fully broke
sound just cuts out often
i want something better sound wise
i dont i just never had a reason to upgrade
way to do that is to go standalone headphones and mic
I bought headphone + mic and now i cant go back to my old headset 😭
will do thanks
they are open though
what do you mean
they let sound leak in and out
Open back
helps with soundstage
Its great
Hello, my Wooting HE no longer lights up, what should I do?
You can hear the doorbell while wearing your headphones so you dont miss your food delivery
👍
well how bad is it
I got HD6XX, which are quite similar, it is rather similar to just not wearing headphones
but I prefer it that way anyways
otherwise you could see if you can get Shure SRH440
Open backs are the way to go, i am fully converted to them by now
in my experience sennheisers are tanks in comparison
I got my beyerdynamics and i would never go back to closed
eh, there are very good closed backs as well, but I just prefer open back
how much noise is it
However much noise there is in your environment basically
as i dont want people to hear my 3 am conversations
Just think of it like this
you mean how much bleeds out
Take off your headphones and put them on the table
uhh, depends on how loud you listen to it
Then play a video or something at your normal volume
if said people are in the same room as you that could be possible
otherwise not really
Itll be similar to that
yea somewhat
okay thanks 😄
as i need a room mate to keep living where i am
ah
yea then you prob would rather have closed backs to not have them annoy you or otherwise
Or you want them open so you can hear knocking on the door or someone trying to talk to you
Shure SRH440
Really depends on your pov
i dont like people
so no
AKG K371 are also decent but I have heard of them breaking from quite a number of people by now
Hey guys, I have a question. THis is more of a software question but I'm sure there are people here that can help with this.
So I bought a mouse which is set to 500Hz polling rate by default, out of the box, and can be set to 1k in software. The software is a Zip. I downloaded it without extracting anything and threw it in https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload to check for viruses. From what I see it should be a safe download but I'd like a second opinion.
I don't know if I can send Zips here so I'll send a link to the website with the scan analisys:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/805c2b01fd16b870c9b19119ca0024407027f57a3e3b721224b1c5fa5ccb4eab
I got the Zip for the software off the Mouse's Official website, but it's a Chinese brand btw.
VirusTotal
VirusTotal
Hey guys whats a cheap mouse that has the same design of the attack shark r3 cuz i just spent all my money on a wooting and i forgot i needed a mouse
What's your budget?
Around 100
wtf that's not "budget mouse" pricing xD
They go for around 200
I was thinking more around the 40-50$ mark.
The AS R3 has a very general shape. Similar to a Logitech G Pro Wireless but magnesium.
For around 40$ (prices may vary depending on region) I recommend the Kysona M600.
It has a GPX like shape, similar to the Attack Shark R3, with a very good PAW3395 sensor and 55 grams* of weight
It also comes with extra glass feet besides the base pure PTFE feet, so you get to try glass skates basically for free
It is obviously wireless and the battery lasts about 2 weeks, depending on use
200$ is an insane price for just a digital pointer lmao
theres lots of occasions where virus total will flag things even if harmless
safe to say if it's 0 flags it's probably safe
¯_(ツ)_/¯
oh you checked my link?
Yes, I know it tends to flag sometimes, that's why I wanted a second opinion
Maybe I missed something by accident
only the sussiest shit
I bought the base model and was sent the Pro instead. They switched the PAW3325 from the LB-M1 to a PAW3311 but upgraded the battery from 300 to fking 800MAh in the Pro
yeah, which is why I'm looking for a second opinion
man why tf do you buy mice with a 3325 in 2024
it better was like 15 dollars
a g49 pro is only 27 USD rn
You can't humanly tell the difference without a graph for anything above the 3311
you still overpay for downspec hardware
I was thinking of getting that too in a few weeks/months
It was 10$
even funnier, the 3311 is a downspec 3335, which already is not the highest end thing
Someone needed an option to buy in bulk for cheap
Just assist me with my initial question if you have any imput to share
What brand is it
Just some random Chinese brand
Lingbao, random chinese
no it's just cooler looking
It looks the same way as how we used the “reply” function 4 years ago
I’ve attached there a link to the whole analysis
You can see all scans
ofc ofc
Its not flagging
Then why bother
0/68
Omg why bother
These are the mice I’ve tried so far but this is the only one that had some red checks in “Relations”
Mice:
- Microsoft Silent BT
- Logitech MX Master 3S
- Logitech G203 Prodigy (discontinued)
- Logitech G Pro Wireless (x2)
- XUNFOX H8
- VXE R1 Pro Max
- Attack Shark X5
- Attack Shark R1
- Keychron M3 Mini
- Longbao LB-M1 Pro
When it’s zero out of 68
then i guess that's just what the software uses to track the movement?
I don't know, I never deep dived on Mice software because I rarely use it
And delete it
Yeah but having a singular flag is not a big deal
It’s a keylogger
especially from the lesser known anti viruses
Are you blind
It’s virus total 😭
sorry, what?
This?:
https://x64dbg.com/
An open-source x64/x32 debugger for windows.
Yeah that
yeah i use it to crack stuff
tho i dont condone it just if admins look
try use it on the web driver then you can delete the keylogger
aah okok. I'll see what I can do
stay safe mate
do it in a virtual machine
oh and if you dont understand codee
dont bother
LOOOL My VM has linux on it xD
Guess I'll make a new one for Win10
virus total constantly has false positives
rather safe than sorry
having a singular av flag isn't a big deal in the first place
its a keylogger
i use it often and i aint ever seen that
I also use virus total and never saw that before xD
to delete deeply rooted shit I use RevoUninstaller. I'll try this x64dbg as well
Any thoughts on Epiphone Les Paul standard?
last scan for that particular file was 3 months ago
virus total just stores file hashes in a database
anti virus providers usually get updated etc
Okay well done
I just ain’t ever seen keylogger
reanalyzing gets me this
Actually this:
But going in relations immediatelly finds 2 files
yeah the 2 relation flags are .lnk
I might be r3tard3d but where do you see the file extension?
Relying on scanners usually won't work. Their behaviours on the scans helps a lot
Hey that's why I sent it here first
alr did
^^^
That's a zip file
That's the link for the first scan
That doesn't help
Yes, it's a ZIp
A zip file scan is useless, as it only archives files and nothing more
but I shall check anyways whatever I can
Should I have "extract all" then bundle them in for scans instead?
as that doesn't run anything only pulls them out
Nah, just lemme deal with the ones I've been provided
ight
i mean i just downloaded it to my pc
it seems fine the only flag is a .lnk file which is used to run the uninstaller from the start menu folder
When trying to open and use it, still nothing?
I remember Windows marking Ubisoft's Ubi Play app when I tried to install Rainbow 6 xD
They warned me "yo this is a suspicious program, watch out"
And what about the other files that come up as positive when rescanning?
no flags
the one flag for
is just another mouse from the brand
safe to assume they use the same software
hence same flags
and it reanalyzes as zero flags
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Alr, it did the same for me
I've just reanalyzed them
yeah like i said from the get-go
usually can ignore virus total for only a few flags
especially if its not big av providers
it even uninstalls better than some other programs
10/10
lol
Nice. Ok, thanks for the help guys
you could download it? In my case Windows cut the exe short saying running this may put the PC at risk, with the only option to pick being "don't run" and shut off the programme
More info > Run Anyway
You ain't wrong sir.
I always hit more info run anyway
get that shit all the time
I think defender has like their own list of applications
and they check to see how many people use it etc
Heuristic analysis, yup
I would only need it for 20 seconds to turn 1k polling rate on
then I'm throwing the programme out
What mouse and software?
I like how Wooting and several other companies started trend on web-based configuration software
It’s good for everyone
random chinese shit.
