I tried using said keycap puller. I also got the keycap cleaning kit with the black tongs that presses the top and bottom switch on said keycap

It takes a bit more force to pull off and I have sausage fingers. I'll try the screwdriver method later this week

If you use the correct side of the puller you should be able to pull off keycaps pretty easy with a little bit of force

You can put your finger inside the ring if you feel like you dont have enough grip

And for the switch you use the other end and use that to grab the clips and lift out the switch easy peasy

I’m getting a laptop for my mom but am really undecided.

Her usage is what you’d expect of your ordinary mom, video streaming and emails. I know she’d like to do a bit of video editing on the go but nothing more than just trimming and adding an audio track.

There’s two contenders for what I think would be good for her for the price.

I have a 96% for when I need a full keyboard which is 1%-2% of the time at home as the computer I use and said keyboard is at work

And I heavily changed my keybinds to accommodate for f keys and arrow key needs to a very comfortable layout

all in all going from 30+ years of fullsize only to 60% worked out a lot better than I expected

the software tricks helps mitigate a lot but only so much you can do without dedicated keys

Lenovo has better IO placement.
Asus's GPU however is 4x faster. And it's CPU will also be faster due to increased TDP.

I personally have Asus on the black list and would not recommend them. But between those 2 the Asus laptop is just way ahead of the Lenovo laptop.
