If I disconnect the 2k monitor and boot up, the 24 inch turns on. The 2k one only works if I connect it AFTER the PC has booted with the single 24 inch and I physically connect it when the PC is turned on

Hmm looks lile an interestong contender to replace my 598 cs at some point, thing definitely starts to look worse for wear and in contrast to other closed backs they seem to have decently large and deep earcups.

Frequency response while not perfect seems fixable woth eq and usable in the cases I can't eq.

Seems to be pretty common that people don't have any evidence to back that lifespan statement up, and that they just pick a number that they like and believe it's bad to go above it
I'm not a material scientist but I have heard people claim that heat cycles is more of an issue than just high temperature. Running at higher temperature difference from ambient will make the materials in the components expand and contract more, which may be worse over time. I would assume anything within the manufacturer range should be perfectly fine long term, but I don't have any proof to share that lower temps won't significantly affect lifespan

This is one of those long term things that I don't have links for off the top of my head, but one of the more sensitive kinds of components are the electrolytic caps. If you check the datasheets for them you should be able to find graphs for lifespan over temperature ranges.
