The base campaign doesn't hold up well, but I remember the expansions being quite good.

Yeah that's where it shines. It was essentially a tech demo for multiplayer. It doesn't play well as a single player.

You can only bring one henchman in the base campaign, and that really conflicts with how D&D is designed.

It's just a question of design. As he points out, the entire trap and lockpicking system is designed to bring a rogue.

But if you bring a rogue, you don't get to enjoy the other henchmen. If you play a class that relies on a cleric, you don't get to enjoy lockpicking etc...

In MP you would bring four players, who each brings something to the party - and the campaign balances to that. But they left that out for singleplayer.

Which is why I just use debug mode to blow up chests and locked doors. Because I genuinely can't be bothered with dealing 1-2 points of elemental damage to them every 3 seconds for over a minute at a time - because Bioware couldn't be bothered to design their campaign with both SP and MP in mind 😄
