The thing is, Intel doesn't have the cash to build $100B fabs at the same time in Germany, Italy, France, Israel, US, Ireland. Nor would TSM. This is normal an not really a concern. It was only possible via generous govt handouts over the world. Iirc said govs (Fr, Ita) cut down from planned subsidies so the logical step is to delay/shelf FAB investments.

I'm sure there is proper risk analysis taking place, but all things considered it probably boils down to how much subsidies each country is giving them and assumed bulding & labour knowledge and costs. Israel has prior fab knowledge so it makes sense to build there even if it's geopolitically unstable area rn.

I'll be concerned when the US plants get shelved/delayed

The stock thermal putty gets stiff and can deform improperly.

Knowledge gained from reddit threads advises to preheat the card via using it or with a hair dryer.

I wouldn't recommend a gun to heat it up unless you're a regular at it.

I only have core temperature from the nvidia linux driver, no idea about the rest. it doesn't matter to me either way, if any of them overheat the card will just shut off. so when the core is within a reasonable temperature and it turns off, I'll know why 😛

Only “sacrifice” getting a twohe over a 60 is some latency due to the increased number of keys that need to be scanned. If you dont want a numpad but want arrows and a f-row then go with the 80.

Adrenalin is installed and updated. (this happens on idle too without any games running in case you're wondering)

And you will probably have the same temps if not better temps by buying an arctic AIO wich is cheaper, an AIO for the 7800x3d is useless..
You can save some money by buying a crucial ssd and buying lower speed ram

insane idle power usage was the big one. games just decide to crash randomly, the software is better than nvidia when it works but breaks half the time, even if you dont care about ray tracing it will just become more and more common so it's kind of unavoidable
